Why I recommend it?: This is one wild ride! It's not for everyone but I think those who like it, will love it. This CD embodies the chaos of drunk sex. Sometimes in funny ways and sometimes in WTF ways. This is a great CD for gap moe fans as this character constantly switches from loving boy toy to sex fiend with just a sip. He goes through multiple personality types as the CD progresses. I think this CD is a great showcase of Sawa Manaka's range as a voice actor. This is one of those CDs that I was shocked listening to but also kept coming back to every few months.

How Kawamura felt listening to Sawa’s voice samples

S: This is a message from Asami-san.

S, K: Thank you!

S: [reading the listener’s message] “Sawa-san, Kawamura-san, good evening.” 

S, K: Good evening!

S: “I’ve been watching Kageboushi (t/n: the name of this show is “Sawa Manaka no Kageboushi”) since the very first episode, and I didn’t expect my favorite, Kawamura-san, to make a guest appearance here. It makes me so happy.”

K: Woah, thank you so much!

S: “I remember that Sawa-san also recently appeared in the radio show hosted by Kawamura-san, and the two of you had a great time talking to each other. By the way, do the two of you remember your first impressions of each other? If you wouldn’t mind, I’d love to know! I look forward to hearing more works from you guys in the future.”

K: I see.

S: Right... The first time I saw Kawamura-san’s name was in the Iinari (いいなり) series.

K: Ah... I think Iinari was the first situation CD I did.

S: The series was called Iinari but written in kanji as Yuuwaku (誘惑). I did the fourth volume.

K: Yeah, that’s right.

S: And you did the second volume.

K: Yes yes. I see...

S: I saw your name and thought, we have someone new on board!

K: [laughs] You did?

S: I hadn’t been in many of these back then either, so I thought maybe we’ll be witnessing the dawn of a new age together.

K: [laughs] Thank you. That was my first situation CD. Either after I’ve done it for the first time or after I’ve decided to do it – I don’t remember the exact order – I thought I should get a better idea of how situation CDs work since it’s my first time. So I listened to all kinds of voice samples from many different series. It was at that time that I first came across the name Sawa Manaka. What series was it again?… Right, Futari no Himitsu.

S: Oh yes yes yes! I played a younger stepbrother in that.

K: Yeah! I listened to that CD’s sample.

S: Wow, the nostalgia...

K: I remember listening to it. And especially that part... Like, when you’re lifting something up and go “yo” “hg” (soft effort sounds). It was in the voice sample. That kind of casual rection felt very realistic.

S: Ah, thank you so much! Thank you.

K: [laughs] I remember really well that I thought to myself, “Ah I see, that sort of thing is needed for situation CDs...”

S: Thank you.

K: It was amazing. Normally when you’re voicing an anime, for example... This is probably a bad way to put it, but you need to overdo everything a little.

S: I mean, it’s the kind of sound that goes with the visuals.

K: Right. You probably have to be like “Egh!” in that case. But you don’t need to go that far in situation CDs. I think I learned that from Sawa-san.

Day 20: Alberich - アルベリッヒ Funny story: When I was searching for references, I found this Galaxy Card Battle with a pose almost the same as my draw lol, and I was too lazy to do another pose lol. And let me tell you how thankful I am to Netflix, they uploaded all the classic series and I've been watching it non-stop. Favorite anime ever, and Alberich is one of my favorite God Warrior

Kinktober Recommendations Day 27: 運命の番 -TSUGAI- 第一弾 双子のα

Why I recommend it?: There are only a few omegaverse audios that I know of. It's for good reason, I bet. Dynamics found in omegaverse usually imitate dynamics already found in heterosexual relationships and therefore can be boring to some. The reason I liked this CD so much is because of the sniffing. It's embarrassing but I became obsessed with audios that featured sniffing for like a whole year. I also like that this CD has good ends and bad ends. Listeners can decide how dark they want the story to end. Bitter Princess (the label) tends to have a lot of darker stories so I would check them out if you're looking for that.

If there’s a drama cd series that deserves a round of applause, that’s Rouge et Noir. I love how every volume it’s connected and everything makes sense. Eventhough I’ve only had the chance to listen to Vol 1 to 3 and Vol 8 bc I’m poor

But I love the characters and the scenarios. Also, the CV’s works are beautiful, they also deserve a round of applause

I hope in the future I can do a real review, but I’ll leave you this pic of me after finishing the volumes I found

my first time purchase of drama cds yay!

of course I’d choose Kimura Ryouhei and Sawa Manaka as my firsts... though I actually really want Kimura’s Dear Vocalist and maybe Chasuke’s instead but Play-Asia don’t give tokutens so it was freaking hard for me to choose a series which their tokutens I don’t really care for. also I had to choose something that costs me less than 2K yens each.

the Mukami Kou cd was great, but nothing special. I think it’s the after story from the game maybe??? IDK I don’t play them I just listen to DiaLovers drama cd only. I was expecting something like Bloody Bouquet or Para-Selene though...

Sawa’s Karepiro has him doing the motorboat (I think that’s what it’s called I’m not sure) lol wtf Sawa now I can’t stop figuring out how you made that ridiculous sounds hahahaha

DAY 22- FAV DOPPEL Mikura Komachi- TABURATSU MG design is whatever, but Doppel design is stellar. It’s so fucking ominous and the attack is just as scary too. 

My favorite Doppel is actually Alina Gray’s Old Dorothy but I’ve already drawn it before and I’ll be damned if I try to do that again.

MORE THOUGHTS UNDER THE CUT

Emiri Kisaki- SHALIMAR MG design is questionable for a 13 year old, but Doppel is super cute, especially when Emiri whispers to it. Attack is underwhelming.

Hagumu Azumi- ABIGAIL MG design is whatever, I hate useless uwa uwu characters, and Doppel design is kind of whatever, but the attack is so visceral I decided to acknowledge it.

Manaka Kurumi- CARMELA MG design is okay, and Doppel is cute but basic. When it attacks, isn’t the plasma globe Manaka sits on, heating up??? she’s gonna burn her ass off and it makes me uncomfortable

Sudachi Sawa- BREADMAN MG design is whatever, fumu fumu, her backstory is so gridmark it’s hilarious, Doppel is whatever but relatable, and attack is just Candy’s ear attack but not as interesting. i included it because i played Cookie Run Ovenbreak

Ao Kasane- HALIFAX I like her design and I hate that I do. her Doppel is super cool and relatable, but the flower petal attack is lame.

Umika Misaki- CATERINA MG design is okay, but Doppel is really pretty. Attack is fine.

Narumi Arisa-  RENARD MG design is atrocious, but Doppel is cute. Arm bouquet is like Meiyui’s, and I like both. Attack is fine.

Makino Ikumi - SYLVIE MG design is bad, but Doppel is good. Attack is whatever, but description is great. It steals people’s eyeballs, and more Doppels should come with negative side effects.

Ashley Taylor- ZIP ZAP My favorite MG design, but hard to draw. Doppel is acceptable but could be more gurokawa.  Attack is not as flashy as its description.

Yandere Recommendation - Shuuchaku Eye 2

This CD would be the first to pop up in my mind if I ever think of “yandere” and “drama cd”. It’s got all the typical yandere tropes perfected to a T and amazing professional voice acting. Light spoiler-containing review below.

The characters are the MC/you, Tachibana Chihiro (CV: Sawa Manaka) and Hoshina Kento. The nasty man of the hour is, of course, none other than Chihiro (as depicted on the cover), but his yandere-ness doesn’t really come out until the later tracks. Instead, the first few tracks focus on how Chihiro acts around MC in the office — pretending to be your cute yet dependable kouhai. Unfortunately for Chihiro, MC has a crush on Hoshina. You can imagine how well this is going to go.

Plot wise this CD has many typical yandere tropes but they’re done so perfectly that it does not lessen the impact in any way even for me, a person that consumes yandere content by the tonne everyday. We’ve got the i-know-everything-about-you tangent, the “snap” moment and the hide-and-seek chase sequence etc etc, so I think this is a great CD for those that are looking to get into drama CDs because it's not as extreme as some CDs can get.

The thing that stood out the most to me about this CD is that I actually felt bad for Chihiro. Instead of going for the “eliminate all competition” mindset Chihiro actually strived to change himself. He really puts in the effort to appeal to MC, shaping himself into the perfect kouhai, but he just happens to lose to Hoshina’s natural adult-like charm. He wanted so badly to just be in a normal loving relationship with MC, and he later admits that he regrets what he ended up doing… but now he can only live with the consequences of his actions (something that is explored more in the tokuten tracks), spiraling further and further.

On to more technical things, the voice acting is out of this fucking world. Sawa Manaka’s voice is perfect for this kind of cute innocent boy with ulterior motives kind of character, and What I like about Sawa Manaka is that he always gives his 120%. With how he voiced Chihiro’s more… unhinged scenes, there is no doubt in my mind that Chihiro is a true yandere through and through. And I don’t need to talk much about the r18 scenes, this is the King of drama CDs Sawa Manaka after all lol.  Coming from a major label, the binaural audio and SFX are also nothing short of fantastic and they really heighten the mystery/horror aspects of the CD. 

Chihiro to me is like… so pitiful that I couldn’t help but find it adorable? I think this is one of few CDs that made me more sad than horny LOL…I just felt so so bad for him especially when he cried ;; I could literally go on forever and ever about this CD but I also don’t want to spoil too much of it. The others in the series are also wonderful, but this one has to be my favorite of them all.
