Hoot Alone is starting to be a Hoot to write!

I’m thinking on the next SCOM sequel story soonish. I’m still working on the shape of it.

The working title is Carnival of Lost Souls.

But I’ve also got to map out the next ten chapters of Bittersweet Symphony?!? That one is fairly linear it’s just a matter of getting to the points I need.

Oh. And I’ve been getting back into drawing with some old muscle memory and a (very, very) slow work through of @kyri45 ‘s character classes.

Gus is somehow part of Luz's plan, but also annoyed with Hunter about something.

Meanwhile, Meredith tries to make her move to ingratiate herself to the Nocedas and she does NOT need Hopkins’ help.

It’s funny working on Hoot Alone, because Vitimir was very much dead throughout most of SCOM and I didn’t get to play much with him other than posthumous.

Osran is, what I thought at the time, over the top outrageous in his goals and aspirations to maintain power. Now I’m convinced that he’s just pretty much what an obscenely wealthy entitled autocrat would be if he had actual magic.

Mason is strong. He’s not the brightest, but he’s proud of his physical prowess.

If Mason is muscle, Vitimir is corrosive. He doesn’t have the care to keep up any decorum like Osran does.

Vee heads to Gravesfield Library with her friends to research the dreaded "Wittebane Assignment." Here they run into Luz and friends and get a glimpse of Hopkins' assignment from his H.S. years.

“Oh, well that escalated quickly?” 

Luz held the ancient PC in her hands. It was wrapped in a drop cloth to keep it from burning her hands, but the real danger seemed to be from the scene before them. 

First, the floor was flooded.

Second? The windows which had been boarded up were now little more than sad shutters. The floor was covered in wood chips as abomination axes and scythes tore through what was left of the barricades. 

“Wiiiiiiitches…….” moaned the zombomination Witch Hunters of Gravesfield. 

“HA! YOU THINK YOU LOST US!” Hopkins shouted from behind.

For those fascinated by the idea of the Inner Circle Trials ... I don't think I could write a whole fic about what happened in the initial ones, but I love dropping references to it!

“How lucky that we found you here, just strolling around the market like anyone else,” Mason rumbled, “see we’ve been a little down on our luck since those nasty trials. I might not be an oracle, but I reckon you might be the first sign of good fortune coming our way.”
