aa it's so cute I had to make it! thank you!
made last night in a whirlwind of creative flow out of scraps (and stuffed with cut up scraps too) It's wonky in such a charming way I lov them Gonna give this to my mom as a Christmas present!
this messed up vintage cat sewing pattern has tormented me since i saw it & like some other folks have done in that post - i tried my hand at tweaking the pattern to resemble the illustration (and my personal tastes) a little more. i've ended up with this. i bestow it upon you nice folks now 👐
(update 2, added instructions & it's also on my Kofi!)

go forth and make weird little beanbag kittens! pls show me if you do!

In anticipation of a large sewing project, I made myself some pattern weights!
Free pattern/tutorial by Hello Sewing [video]

I first made them from 5"x10" rectangles (solid green and solid orange above), but realised these were a bit big; so then made the 4"x8" as recommended by the pattern (orange plaid).
Because my fabrics were loosely-woven, and I'd be filling them with aquarium gravel, I used a lightweight fusible interfacing. I think this was a great idea and highly recommend it.
Action shot:

I'm very excited for this large project!

Curious little snail 🐌 🐌 🐌
Really proud of myself for winning yarn chicken yet again with this one guys, I have 5cm of the light green softspun left after sewing in all the ends. Now to make another one with the opal.

I'm gonna turn this into a craft blog too, because no one can legally stop me
I'm making an afghan as a holiday gift for my new neighbors, a lovely older gay couple who have been over to chat with us like three times before we're even moved in!

Someone shut the fence off in the rain
Calling this one "Chaos Theory" in part due to how many issues I had with the zipper, LOL. Outer fabric is a patchwork piece I made with scraps from previous projects, and a repurposed apron. Lining is "Roar! - Tree Rex" by Tula Pink (love love LOVE this fabric!). Bruise on ankle (not shown) is from accidentally stepping in the little box I was using to throw the project scraps in & having it slide out from under me as I was unplugging the iron. Sopping wet floor (not shown) from knocking over a large glass of water while setting up the "photo shoot."
Now that's chaos.

Looks like you can pick some of those stitches up before they unravel more, maybe with a wool needle and either some contrasting thread or a similar colour. You probably might be able to re-crochet a little of the pattern, it’s hard to tell from these photos, or you can do some visible mending and make a nice feature that helps you keep from trapping the devil in your maze of perfect stitches!!
I've been working on a scrap yarn blanket on and off and I'm going through and weaving in ends when I notice some yarn shredding a little bit and suddenly is is way more than a little bit

So far it seems to only be these 2 hexagons that have been impacted, but does anyone have advice on how to fix the problem and prevent it from getting worse?

To make it more fun. The impacted hexagons are on the middle of the project and not easy to remove

Can't believe I didn't share this yet. I finished my blanket! This is the end result of a year of stress. This is what election years do to me.
180 squares, 12 x 15
Can't even tell you how many different colors there are in this since it started as a scrapbuster project and became a habit.
I can't stop. I'm 120 squares into my next project...

I had the sudden and overwhelming urge to do some scrapbusting so there's a couple new mug rugs in the house (not pictured) and these floofy fingerless mitts for my stupid already-cold-in-early-October fingies.
I didn't know how far I'd get with the yarn I had so I knit a rectangle until it ran out, then folded it in half and cut in two equal bits, sewed em up leaving a thumb hole and added ribbing for cuffs. Fun!

Border done! Going to require some blocking to get it to sit right but that’s a problem for post-holiday me.
Bonus picture of the yet to be addressed horror beneath:

I have a lot of very long boring calls today where I mostly have to listen. ADHD makes “quietly listening” pretty much impossible, so I like to have a project to work on or an idle game on my phone to play. Today I took some scrap bedsheet leftover from a pajama sewing project and cut out a few handkerchiefs, long strips to make scrunchies, and some smaller squares I can use to make little scented sachets with lavender and rose. For the tiny scraps, I snipped them into fabric confetti to help with stuffing those sachets.

--- Yes, the rolled hem and the lappet are a must. I just think they're too cute. 😊 There are many wee people on the way here, so I've mixed the left-over yarn from the first baby blanket with some white yarn and knitted up two more little hats. They're always useful. What are your must-haves for baby and toddler projects? And what do you do with your left-overs? Waiting for something to come along or just improvising something to use them up? #babyknits #strickenfürbabys #handknit #babyhat #babymütze #scrapbusting #leftoverproject #knitspiration #knitstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CWiAv4gIXBB/?utm_medium=tumblr
