✨ CAST OF CHARACTERS

☆ Jim (Roger Clark)

Jim is the mid-40's, level-headed nephew of Sean and somewhat committed bank security guard (level-headed compared to Anne and Sean at least). He's frequently tested by the increasing stress of the situation. His primary goals are to help his sick fiancé Izzy with her medical costs and eventually afford to tie the knot. He has the strongest moral compass of the crew and brings very important knowledge to the bank job.

☆ Sean (Patrick A. Reilly)

Sean is played Patrick A. Reilly (and is also one of the writers). Sean, who is in his mid 60s, has to put up with his crazy ex-wife and gets dragged into the heist by the need to cover both of their medical bills. His Irish temper usually has him butting heads with his ex-wife Anne. He's got some locksmith skills that come in handy, and drinks a healthy amount of Twining's Earl Grey tea.

☆ Anne (Thea Sieban)

Anne is played by Thea. Anne (mid 60s) is the criminal mastermind who brings the caper idea to the table. She can be friendly and bakes great cookies, but she's also very smart and knows how to manipulate Jim and Sean into doing her bidding. Her emotions can get pretty fiery and she'll do whatever it takes to get the job done.

☆ Jack (John A. Holly)

Jack is played by John A. Holly. Jack (95) is Sean's uncle figure who suffers from advancing dementia. He can be both irritable and joyful, while also being naturally funny. He boasts about his exciting career in nude modeling. He also misses his long-deceased dad and often tries to get in touch with him, forgetting he's gone. Jack becomes a liability who they end up needing to bring along on the caper.

✨ The Story

"An unlikely heist crew of Sean, his ex-wife Anne, their nephew Jim and tech-savvy friend Mary perform a daring burglary of a local bank. They have to drag along Jack, Sean's adopted uncle, who has advancing dementia and a career in nude modeling at the ripe age of 95. Let's just say things get complicated with ol' Jack."

✨ The Heist

"Our characters develop and execute a heist plan that is unconventional compared to most caper movies. There are some of the common tropes like the computer hacker who assists them with security systems and the fact that something must go wrong somewhere along the way. What makes this heist story very unique though is how it's done by senior citizens for desperate reasons. They don't bring any guns, disguise themselves as exterminators and go in when the bank's closed just after sunrise on a Sunday morning. It's a smartly planned out burglary, not a reckless robbery. The main complication of the heist is not what most audience member's would expect, which helps to set our project apart from most other caper stories. I guess you'll have to watch the film to see exactly what goes down!"

✨ Social Commentary Value

"Our film is meant to come convey an important social commentary topic, being common issues with the medical system in the United States and how everyday people are forced to confront extremely costly bills. Problems with insurance, the pension system and other facets of medical care are to be alluded to and explored in this film. Each of the characters either has some kind of expensive illness or is helping someone who does. The serious tone brought about by characters with realistic problems and motivations is balanced with the absurd comedy of burglarizing a bank in the manner they do."

✨ The Film's Title

"Better Living… Through Thievery? is a play on an old advertising slogan originating from DuPont, a multinational chemical company, which often reads "Better Things for Better Living… Through Chemistry." The "Through Chemistry" part is replaced with "Through Thievery?" to humorously point out how not only are the characters trying to find quality of life through their medications, treatments and other forms of chemistry, as it pertains the original meaning, but also how they decide a venture into theft is necessary to pay for their essentials. The phrase now sarcastically becomes about the "unbridled optimism" surrounding crime and theft and the ability it has to sort out human dilemmas."

Sean Patrick Thomas (December 17, 1970) is an actor. He is known for his role as Derek Reynolds in Save the Last Dance and as Jimmy James in Barbershop (2002), Barbershop 2: Back in Business (2004), and Barbershop: The Next Cut (2016), as well as his television role as Detective Temple Page in The District and as Professor Macalester in Vixen (2015–16).

He was born in DC., the son of emigrants from Guyana. He was raised in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of Cheryl, a financial analyst for DuPont, and Carlton Thomas, an engineer who worked for DuPont. He graduated from Brandywine High School in Delaware and attended the University of Virginia. He intended to study law, but upon auditioning for a role in the film A Raisin in the Sun, he changed directions and decided to attend NYU’s Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts which graduated.

He married actress Aonika Laurent (2006). The couple has two children.

He began appearing in screen roles in the mid-1990s and had minor roles in several films, including Conspiracy Theory (1997), Can’t Hardly Wait (1998), and Cruel Intentions (1999).

He played the recurring character Alan Townsend on Reaper. He originated the recurring character of Karl Dupree on Lie to Me. In 2009, he took to the stage, playing the title role in Othello for the Theatre for a New Audience in New York. This production moved to the Intiman Theatre in Seattle for the summer. I know it's been 10 years since the movie came out and I'm still angry and disappointed how the movie turned out

Mistakes list.

1. The characters is Cgi instead of Practical effect suit.

2. Story and didn't follows the source material exemple from mirage comics or archie comics or 1987, 2003 and 2012.

3. They were April pets and she was the one that name them instead of boy by name Chester Manley that bought them.

4. Splinter was lab rat instead of him being pet to Hamato Yoshi or Hamato Yoshi and Splinter being same person. Splinter learning from book ninjutsu.

5. Splinter and Shredder didn't have backstory

6. Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Nagi was erased

7. Erik Sachs and Oroku Saki that they mix up who should be Shredder. Not to include Tatsu.

8. Foot clan was not even Foot clan more gun clan.

9. They race and gender swap Burne Thompson instead of Linda Temilesand.

10. They cast and took familiar face for exempel known actor and actresses instead of unknown actors and actresses.

11. Writer and director didn't know how make the movie.

12. Not having Purple Dragon gang.

13. Casey jones didn't appeared this movie but sequel he appeared but it was not good either the movie and him.

14. This movie should have not been made or sequel.

How to fix the movie and how

they could have done:

1. Practical effect suit by Jim Henson company or Spectral motion instead of cgi.

2. Follow the source material from mirage archie comics.

3. Chester Manley is one who had as pets before dropped them from the well into the sewer.

4. Splinter being human turn to rat in this version and having backstory with Shredder.

5. Include Oroku Nagi in story because he is reason why Oroku Saki became Shredder.

6. Tang Shen could be the stepdaughter to Saburo who is the master Sensei to Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki in Mutations (Archie) comics.

7. Tatsu as Shredder right hand man

8. April being lab assistent to Baxter Stuckmann like in comics.

9. Not race and gender swap Burne Thompson

10. Let unknown actors and actresses to play the characters instead of known actor and actresses.

11. Nimród Antal could have directed this movie because he directed Predators movie 2010 and used practical effect.

12. Jim Henson company and Spectral motion could have made robber suit.

13. Casey Jones having backstory with Purple Dragon and including his rival Hunter "Hun" Mason.

OK - playlist at the bottom, but here's some more tuneage!

Gnutheme (All) - I love this opener from Allroy's Revenge. LOVE it. Everything from Karl's amazing bass runs, to Stephan's beautiful almost-falling-over-itself guitar melody, to Bill's frenetic drumming...it's ALL perfect. :) What a way to start off my fave ALL record! The only thing missing is Scott's wonderful vocals - but there are so *many of those!

Better than That (All) - This one's from the Chad Price vocal years - even though I like Scott better, Chad rips, too! And this one was written by Karl, which is even cooler! The outro is my favorite part, when it drops to just vocals, and then adds drums, then bass, then ALL of it. :)

Myage (Descendents) - this one (and the next) were two that I heard at the show last Friday, and I thought "Hey! Let's put them in LILIL BOWERS' playlist!" :) Legend has it that Bill found a bass in the trash outside the original Descendents practice space, plucked it out, and wrote this song. Legend. The drum part is an exercise in lactic acid mitigation. :)

Suburban Home (Descendents) - another from "Milo Goes To College" (I think). And another with that frenetic "bonus cup" caffeinated surf beat. Killer!

'Merican (Descendents) - I think this was off "Everything Sucks", but I'm not sure. It's pretty acerbic/biting/face slappy, and fucking awesome. They changed a lot when they came back after Milo's break to be a scientist (remind me to tell you about him and DuPont!).

World's on Heroin (All) - this one inspired to me to start writing the song "Why Can't You Just Give A Fuck?" It'll be done at some point. :)

Bikeage (Descendents) - One of my top 3 Descendents songs. Part of it's obvious ("bike"), part not so (lyrics that hit me as hard now as they every did). I also included the cover Plow did of this back in the 90s, and here's an old video of us playing it back in Delaware! So many old friends in that video. :)
