I won't watch this movie because watching the last season of game of thrones is less painful than that. No seriously Seb is giving his best with the kiss considering she is acting like a dead fish. Well done to the ground staff and congratulations to the Stars on a great season."It was remarkable the match went ahead with Sydney drenched by torrential rain for two straight days, which only let up as the final was due to start, with the game getting underway more than an hour late.Unlike most other Twenty20 events around the world, no finals reserve day is built into the BBL structure which would have meant the Sixers claiming victory as the host team if no play was possible.Nathan Lyon (2-19) and Steve O'Keefe (2-27) were the pick of the Sixers' bowlers after they made 116 for five in their innings, spearheaded by impressive opener Josh Philippe's 52.In reply, Marcus Stoinis clubbed a four and a six off Lyon's first three balls to signal the Stars' intentions, but he pushed his luck too far and was caught near the boundary off the fourth delivery.Fellow opener Nic Maddinson followed in the next over, offering a limp chip shot to Josh Hazlewood which was easily collected by James Vince at cover.When the potentially explosive Maxwell was out lbw to O'Keefe for five trying to sweep, they were 18 for three and in big trouble.A comical run out of Peter Handscomb for one, sent back by Nick Larkin as he went for a second run, made matters worse. Melbourne Stars generation of hype and excitement

The second week of August was a big one for the Big Bash League (BBL) franchise, the Melbourne Stars. They produced and shared a variety of content over the week to get fans excited about the season to come. This week will examine the content rollout over Twitter.

On Monday, they shared a post from Lancashire Cricket where Stars captain Glenn Maxwell was playing at the time and was scoring runs at a prolific rate. With Maxwell set to be available for a majority of the season, it fills fans with optimism and excitement that one of the team’s star players is in good form in the lead up to this year’s tournament.

On the Wednesday, the Stars were visited by the number one darts player in the world Michael van Gerwen who teamed up with Stars player Seb Gotch, known for his character against Melbourne Renegades player Jon Holland and Australian darts player Kyle Anderson in a leg of darts. Several pictures of the day were tweeted out by van Gerwen with was good publicity and exposure for the Big Bash and the Stars. 

The following day, the Stars unveiled the signing of three news players, all from Perth - Lance Morris, Clint Hinchliffe and Nathan Coulter-Nile. Coulter-Nile has played cricket of the international stage before so is a big name recruit who is sure to add value to the team. 

Later that day, they also announced that tickets for both the BBL and WBBL were on sale so fans could start locking in their spots at the games.

Finally, Thursday marked the advertising of several job openings at the Stars for the upcoming season giving anyone interested an invaluable opportunity to work with the franchise, gain experience and implement their skills to help the performance off-field.

As an avid Stars fan, I was quick to see these posts on both Twitter and Facebook, they definitely excited me, particularly as someone who is also a big darts fan too. Perhaps the most significant thing is that I shared the news of the signings with fellow Stars-supporting and Big Bash fans as well as telling a friend who is also a Stars and darts fan about the van Gerwen cross-promotion.

The Big Bash League 2019–20 season or BBL 2019-20 will be the 9th period of the KFC Big Bash League, the expert men's Twenty20 domestic cricket rivalry in Australia. The competition is booked to begin on 17 December 2019 and finish up on 8 February 2020.
