It’s more of a Central Asia dish but as I was born in USSR it was a part of my country. Love it.

Nothing active now (If you don’t count Ukraine, but it’s another country now) but of course country wouldn’t be that big only cuz everyone wanted to join. Yes there are history in between neighboring regions. Tatar and Russians, Tatars and Mordva, Chechen and Dagistanian... Sovien Union leveled most of the beefs, in 90th in was baaad. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Chechen, Moldova, Osetia... It’s still simmering.
