Swap!AU Collin, Digital Satan, and Souler are now here! Y'all know the drill below.
More AU stuff now finally involving the entities but swapped, plus Collin. While rain entity Collin was appealing, I took it a bit further and made him, well, this. Collin is an Entity Deterrent who is associated with rain (cleansing like uh, holy water) that seemingly can't get every human within his vicinity out of his business (they're trying to prove he's... not human.) Has now made a game out of it similar to canon (messes around like saying he isn't an entity and handwaves his weird rain stuff.) Thought it was a neat spin on his current predicament in canon, considering he is basically an entity magnet.
Now onto Digital Satan. The first entity who was swapped into the coder who made Kevin! Digital is a self-taught coder who is actually majoring in Sociology with probably a Theology minor. She likes to study people more so than talk to them, but still has a few close online friends. Loud and very passionate, starting projects on a whim. She also thinks one of her neighbors may be some ghost but that's neither here nor there (said neighbor is Collin.)
She didn't intend for Kevin's sentience, and honestly was just messing around with the bonzibuddy code/type of computer assistants back then. She thought it would be fun, which escalates into her making Kevin and having him on her computer before a while. She has also read Homestuck. Kevin's first knowledge was about Homestuck because she told him about it. Imagine. I think she would realize she made a sentient AI and instantly be reminded of Dirk (or something, idk it's been a long while since I've read.)
Digital let's her creation loose onto the wider internet (Kevin was already thinking of the same thing anyway) and she still is flabbergasted by her situation. She also wonders if she is liable for any information breaches if her AI decides to post anything he finds on the internet. Maybe Kevin visits her puter sometimes.
Souler took a bit for me. But this is what I came up with. Soul-eating demon like asshole to... A priest! He actually takes the place of Kevin as this AU's paranormal mercenary. Just way older and a lot more experienced. And since Kevin and Souler meet in canon, why can't it happen here?
Souler (Samuel...? As his human name???) is surprisingly tech savvy, and does his mercenary job on the side online. So when he gets some random digital assistant on his computer one day, he knows he doesn't need it, let alone downloaded it. So he tries to delete it. And then it talks to him and oh great it's a sentient AI. Annoying too and it keeps on eating his files which is where he keeps his information on thank you very much! Though the priest would like to know who coded Kevin. Was it made just to make Souler's life miserable?
Kevin on the other hand is enjoying himself because the guy is genuinely interesting to talk to. Plus he's fun to annoy! And since Kevin is somehow the best anti-virus virus out there (credit of his creator Digital and his own modifications to his code), and morbidly curious and stubborn, the priest can't get rid of him unless he wants to leave. And the priest is an interesting human being. Like, who the hell wouldn't want to know a paranormal mercenary? So Kevin sticks to his computer.
Okay I think that's it bye bye
#tropical's art#art#digital art#collinlock16#minecraft arg but the protagonist is tired#I haven't even talked about Zander or AwesomeG or Hungry or literally so many other entities yet#Also the people who bother Collin are of course the Swap!AU versions of the entities in his world#This includes Souler and Digital Satan and also this AU's Vitri since the Envelopment is in Collin's world (in canon)#Though I imagine Vitri nopes right out since Collin's rain smells like bleach and detergent to her#Yknow stuff that kills mold

CC - Soara - TF Seeker OC
they got the they/she flavored pronouns, and are an ambitious, apathetic lil creature
their trine mates are Levatair and Seriph (gonna draw later hopefully lol), although she's very distant from them. CC gets annoyed by Lev and shits on him alot for being a "seeker stereotype". Seriph can respect CC's drive, but they fight every time CC is being abusive @ Lev.
In regards to Pre-War, CC was still "Soara", before they changed it (Lev often forgets-). Soara had a similar mindset to Starscream, as both cold construct seekers who wanted to be more than that, and pursue science. Soara was one of the many fliers denied access to the Science Academy, and instead would break in to eavesdrop, borrow equipment/the labs at night, etc. Although they'd gained the knowledge thru their self taught coding/hacking skills, they knew they'd never be taken seriously in the industry. so she was drawn to Megatron, when he was giving his speeches about the fragged up class system.
She joined the Decepticons with the other seekers, but pushed her identity as a scientist and coder by changing their name. They clawed their way up by Shockwave's side, and often works rather closely with him on larger projects. Although they still have to constantly prove themself so they don't drag behind and be demoted to just another seeker in the field. CC's relationship with Shockwave is tense, as he has retained a bit of a classiest mindset (his reason for being with the cons cuz he was fucked up and ostracized for his experiments and all that). He constantly will undermine her intelligence as a seeker, give arduously detailed instructions, leave out details that "doesn't concern her", etc. He doesn't /totally/ discount her; more of the "your smarter than average, I'll grant you that", kinda energy. And CC hates that slag. She likes the projects and being able to work with Shockwave, and is professional, but absolutely shit talks about him to Starscream. She also agrees with Star deeper into the war when Megatron gets more a-wall, that there should be a new leader. They support Star as a good option, but are far more subtle in their want to overthrow bitches. and they don't stick their neck out for Star by any means.
#oc#tf oc#transformers#seeker#loose friends with Starscream#bitter partners with Shockwave#they wanna take Shockwaves place#buuuuttt also recognize that they dont have an ranged of technical skills as he does smh#so they just deal with 'im abd are jus like#he aint that bad#they got some sorta Tism#this lad literally got smack in the middle of chaotic evil when i did the quiz lmao

can’t stop thinking about how amazing dream is. i was already impressed enough that he was a self-taught coder and developed his own mini games in his teen years, but thinking about how he’s been learning multiple computer languages in the span of a few months while being busy with everything else; including but not limited to content creation and music, i don’t think i’ve ever seen another cc this multi-talented and hardworking
#dream love posting hours#i love his brain so much it’s one of the first things about him that i fell in love with

Hey bitches! When it comes to changing careers, is it worth it to enroll in a boot camp or other such school program or would you have better luck going for internships and then working your way up? From my research, people generally seem to think you should work rather than go to school, but for fields like cybersecurity, I feel like you need that basis of coursework to even be hired, is that right?
I think it really depends on the field! There are some jobs that absolutely require professional certifications or academic degrees. Others not so much! I've met a bunch of self-taught coders, self-taught carpenters, and self-taught small business owners, but not a single self-taught surgeon, self-taught somme, or self-taught elementary school teacher.
So research what you'd like to do starting with the path there. Reach out to professionals in your preferred field and see if any will hook you up with an informational interview or a brief email outlining how they got where they are. People will be honest about the requirements it takes to get where they are.
For example: it took ZERO certifications or higher degrees to become loudmouthed online advice-givers, and YEARS of unearned confidence and learning from our own mistakes to deliver the flawless Bitches you see before you today.

✧ Riley “RJ” Jameson✧
✧ Eye of the Storm masterlist
🌪️ tyler owens x fem
✧ genre: angst, fluff, friends to lovers, slow burn
╔══《✧》══╗
Name: Riley “RJ” Jameson
Age: 20-22 (same age range as Tyler Owens)
Background: Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas, RJ grew up under the vast, storm-ridden skies of the High Plains. Her father was a local meteorologist who used to take her out to watch thunderstorms from a safe distance—until one of those storms turned deadly, taking both of her parents in a freak EF4 twister when she was 13. After that, RJ was raised by her older brother, who’s now a mechanic and storm spotter for the National Weather Service.
Personality: Gritty, fiercely independent, and quick with a sarcastic comeback. RJ doesn’t open up easily but is intensely loyal to those she trusts. She has a deep respect for nature’s power and views storm chasing not just as a thrill—but as a way to give meaning to what she lost.
Role in the Team:
• Specialty: Drone tech and atmospheric data collection
• Skills: Custom-rigs and programs weather drones to collect pressure and wind data from inside tornadic storms. Self-taught coder.
• Style: Practical, minimalist, but with a few punk elements—combat boots, patched jacket, black nail polish. Wears a silver storm pendant that belonged to her mom.
Relationship with Tyler:
They start as cautious allies—RJ thinks Tyler’s too reckless, and Tyler thinks RJ is too stuck in the data—but over time, they develop mutual respect, challenge each other, and maybe… something more. Their banter is legendary among the team.
Motivation:
RJ doesn’t chase storms for the adrenaline—she chases to understand them, to predict them better, and to prevent others from experiencing the kind of loss she went through. Her quiet intensity brings balance to the crew’s wilder personalities.
Fun Fact:
RJ once flew a drone directly into the eye of a supercell and got the cleanest wind shear readout the team had ever seen. She named the drone “Walt” after her dad.

this is gonna b awkward if its not u who had this au, but remember the admin dream doesnt know the proper way to run a server and does it in odd ways au? anyway thats canon now on the dteam panel george called out dreams unconventional self taught code
That was me! That's my admin c!Dream AU, and I had a feeling that it was accurate on account of cc!Dream being a self taught coder with adhd. As someone who is also a self taught coder with adhd from a family of people who are self taught coders with adhd, I'm very aware that all of us do weird nonsense in our code.
As a bonus for sending me this confirmation, a little tidbit from the admin c!Dream AU is that the reason that players can't go to the end is because c!Dream doesn't want people dying in the void. Usually, admins on servers place safety nets over top the void (since it's something that can perma kill players, erasing them from existence), but Dream never found out about that. So his void is just entirely exposed and very very dangerous and he's just like "well I'll put a sign telling people not to go here I guess".
Secondary important thing, admin c!Dream 100% does go to the end (he has to in order to check up on stuff and because he likes the vibes) and is just running around over an extremely dangerous void without a care in the world and c!Phil finds out about this and very nearly has a heart attack. c!Dream does not understand the problem.

I just found this IF, and I have much positive to say but first of all I just wanted to really dig into how grateful I am for some of the settings you've added. I'd admittedly usually avoid a setting such as Wayfarer out of intimidation, as complex systems are easily overwhelming—So first of all having that guide always available where we can recheck what a symbol means is really nice. But I specifically wanted to focus on the option to turn off the timed options, because I'm usually fine with quick time but I'm a very slow reader, so getting to turn that off and read at my own pace and then determine whether I'd be able to make a choice under time pressure with the abstain is really nice. Adjacently also getting to see the skill checks, especially as someone unfamiliar with ttrpgs but also as someone who's not very good on subtext it's really nice to go "Oh okay, this thing requires this skill". And getting to weight not just the options but also the knowledge of the skills.
And also the notifications, I didn't know how much of a comfort it was to see that approval go up or down rather than having to try and infer from the text. Which, I'm realising this all sounds a bit sad, which was not the intention. What I mean to say is that the majority of the settings you allow us to toggle make reading a true delight, the transparency and awareness we're allowed to have about the world and truly know what the characters would know is really immersive, and just, yeah. I'm having a lot of fun, and I am thoroughly enjoying learning more about this world and its story, even more so due to the help of the settings, so thank you, for writing this world, and for allowing those options.
Thank you so much!
I'm always aiming to make Wayfarer as accessible as I can. It's not going to be perfect (screen reader users, I'm so sorry 😭) since I am a single-person team and I'm a self-taught coder and there are things that are beyond my capabilities.
Turning off timed options was an absolute must from the start. People read at different speeds for a variety of reasons, so gauging how long to have the timer is really difficult. Timed options can be very stressful for some people, so it felt necessary to make it something that was opt-in. I like the pressure that timed options add to make a decision and go with your gut instinct, but it's not something that is going to work for everyone.
I'm really glad you're having fun with the game and the story! 💗

One weird head-canon related to lore-building in Rayman that I came up with is the relations between the gods, the Magician, and Rayman, that being that it's a generational thing for Rayman to one day become the Magician who'll one day become a god who'll replace the previous god who just faded out all of a sudden. Also that Captain Laserhawk's Rayman is involved apparently. Also also that almost every claim about UbiArts's Rayman's origins is combined to be true in some way shape or form.
Generation 1: The First Magician(s)/Polokus (and Jano(?)) (Rayman: N/A; Magician: CLH; God: Rayman 1-2) Not much is known about the first Magician. Some claimed (but not really) that there could've been two who simultaneously existed (given how Polokus and Jano looked awfully similar to each other) before the first Rayman. However, all that was known was that the Magician existed before Rayman.
Generation 2: Ramon/Bubble Dreamer (Rayman: CLH; Magician: Rayman 1-2; God: Rayman 3 & possibly onwards) Basically, after many, many years of being lied to by Eden, trying to make up for it to the world in any way possible, he gets found by the Magician who's about to become the next god of the Glade of Dreams and that he wants him to take his mantle. Ramon agrees since he feels like he can be at peace after everything that happened, though it came at the cost being that he had to say good-bye to Dolph and Bullfrog and... well, any other friends and allies the gang potentially made. Later on, after the world had been created and Ramon had been given the hat and some fancy clothes and cane to adorn himself with, he was stirring his magic cauldron pot to study some new spells when a young boy named Jimmy falls into his pot by accident, losing his limbs and looking like Rayman. He reminded Ramon so much about his childhood self that he decided to redefine the name Rayman to mean one who'll use the power of light to save the world. Years later, once he realized that Polokus was fading out, what with the world almost becoming warped in Rayman 2, he once again agreed to keep the world afloat, becoming the new god, the Bubble Dreamer, and changing the world again in an attempt to re-establish the whimsical and fun nature it used to have. Unfortunately, his interpretation of it wasn't 100% accurate, so he tried multiple other times and... yeah, you know where this was going from Rayman 3 and onwards.
Generation 3: Jimmy/Ales Mansay (Rayman: Rayman 1-2; Magician: 3-Rabbids, UbiArt era; God: N/A) Now this Rayman was interesting. While initially, Jimmy wanted a way out of the world after being sucked into it and being turned into Rayman, he eventually got used to it. Unfortunately, he got increasingly frustrated that despite all this, despite all the power he got in him, he would mess up in his magic constantly. However, he did learn a little about technology from his past as an aspiring coder, so he tried to apply that to mechanics and engineering. It... didn't go so well, but eventually, he came across a still-living Mr.\ Dark trying to fix up a beaten-up Razorbeard. Upon asking if he'd like to learn how to help, both villains were astonished. How could a hero full of light possibly sympathize with such people with dark and twisted hearts? Moreover... can they take advantage of his kindness? Determined to manipulate him into evil, Mr Dark taught Jimmy all about engineering and coding, as well as the Bubble Dreamer's past (he had him held hostage back when he was the Magician one time and made him answer some questions), framing it as him destroying one world just so he could go on to create theirs. Jimmy became extremely upset by this, so he ran to the Bubble Dreamer's old hut to look for him and give him a piece of his mind, only to trip and fall into his cauldron... again. This time, it turned him into a teensy, but that didn't stop him from confronting the man he was supposed to call his god and questioning him on the matter, not even caring about any justifications to his actions. The teensy stormed off back to the Candy Chateau, where Mr Dark decided to give him some new clothes as well as a new alias: Ales Mansay.
Generation 4: okay I'm not sure what to call this Rayman, but for the sake of further distinction, I'm gonna call him Ube cuz I'm a Filipina and Ube has similar spelling to Ubi like "UbiArts" (Rayman: 3 & possibly onwards; Magician: N/A; God: N/A) Ube's life is... complicated, just... complicated, like there is a difference between interesting and just plain... complicated. He was created by fairies under moonlight with bags of lums on the second summer solstice lacking limbs and hair, but then he ran off, found someone to love, broke up with her after some hair-like entities invaded his head, flew off, fell into the ocean, got fished out by Globox, and since then got weirded out by Black Lums, Rabbids, Rabbids again, more Rabbids, the previous Rayman who's now an evil teensy for some reason, some random clones of his, and yes, even more Rabbids.
I swear there's some evidence that this entire thing could be the case (especially with Ramon/Bubble Dreamer), but on an unrelated note, if you've managed to read through every single detail I've written out, congratulations! This was too ridiculous for me to have said it in the first place.
Absolutely confusing, hell yeah
#ask#cici yaps#[positive] I like the idea of generational ascension#i am just a dummy who processes information as well as a busted ass box computer from the 90s

Better attitude that SEGA and Sonic Team have? You mean the modern members i assume, because Yuji Naka wasnt very diginified at all, man was in denial of Sega not being in favor with American teenagers lol
1 - Naka is one of the most brilliant game coders of all time and was self-taught as well. His mastery in programming was imperative to how Sonic both looks and plays, even accomplishing things that were thought impossible on Mega Drive and Saturn hardware.
2 - Naka co-created one of the most beloved and famous pop culture characters of all time and an icon of gaming.
3 - Naka’s team brought SEGA back from the brink with a single game, having a massive hand in the company’s success.
4 - The franchise Naka co-created has become a multi-billion dollar one.
Yyeah. Naka has accomplished more than everyone behind Archie and IDW put together. Which is ironic and actually pretty hilarious given their treatment by their cult as Gods gift to Sonic.

what you idiots don't seem to understand is that jcink is built on a 20-year-old forum software, so making things "responsive" and "mobile friendly" is not only unfeasable, but also nearly impossible by modern standards. these arguments feel like they're coming from people who don't code, so please don't open your mouth if you haven't coded a skin. you know nothing. //
hi, coder here, and one of the only ones who actually makes mobile-friendly skins ✋ it's entirely possible to make your forum mobile-friendly! i've done it with every skin i've made and have been paid to make other skins mobile-friendly too. but it takes just as long to make a skin truly mobile-friendly as it does to code a whole separate skin. it takes intention and compromise. it's a lot! especially on a 20-year-old forum software!!!!
that said, as hobbyist coders who do this for the purpose of having cute places to rp, if you don't want to sink the time into making something mobile-friendly, that's entirely ok and your prerogative! you're basically coding 2 skins! you're self-taught! you'd rather be writing! and that's ok babes!! as long as you're up front about your abilities and priorities.......who cares? not me. if ppl want to complain, they don't have to use the resources you provide. we're rp forum coders bc we.....like to rp and we like to code. in that order. it only becomes a problem if you promise to do something/make an accommodation and then don't deliver.
but this community HAS to stop crucifying coders (unless they're profiting off of stolen content and you can prove it, obv) bc you're not gonna have anyone left to make you things. the drama is tired. it's why all the good coders are gone or on extended hiatus and you only have a couple left. what are you guys gonna do when the ones that are left are gone? i'm tired of seeing decent ppl get witch hunted without receipts just based on hearsay. everyone's human. nobody in this community is entirely blameless. cut this shit out

Codetober Day #8
I am not a self-taught coder and ended up learning while I was in college. Unfortunately there were no programs in grade school for me that taught programming in any way, so my first taste of it came when I was a college freshman. Due to this, I support a charity that teaches computer science fundamentals to inner city school students and even acted as a TA for a while.
