i don't know the thread you mentioned but i think this tsumugi haircut can be a good thing and symbolise him moving on without it being about being unhygienic! if that's what the op said then i do agree it's a bit weird, but i do think there's been quite a few mentions of tsumugi finding it uncomfortable, especially in the heat! although i think that's a very minor reason for the change to be clear, but mainly i feel like it's showing his growth in being able to keep this promise and keep switch together without having to rely on physical charms or promises. and especially with natsume being the one to cut it, it feels like he's also saying that of course they don't need something like that to keep them together. they'll be switch because they want to be and they want to be together, not because it's a magical promise keeping them together! i feel like especially with tsumugi tending to stay in the past a lot, im really hopeful that it's a positive change for him to learn to go forward with natsume and sora by his side!

I'm not denying the positive aspects that come with Tsumugi's changes, but the way that they're pushing it is so weird. Like Happy Ele thought about changing Tsumugi first before thinking about how it'll affect the previous stories - it's basically retconning Wonder Game by creating this nothingburger drama so TsumuNatsu can have this conflict.

Also complaining about a hairdo is very different from actually cutting it, I have long thick hair too so I know the troubles with the heat (hell I live in the Philippines) but the solution is as easy as tying one's hair, which is something Tsumugi does too.

Also ?? No ?? The growth of Tsumugi's hair quite literally symbolizes his growth, with the new story and all, it frames this whole situation as WORSE with his history of being forced to cut his hair and thus being unable to keep his promise to Natsume. Tsumugi only started growing out his hair after the war, and we later learn the reasons why in other Switch stories but namely WonderGame.

No one pressured him to keep this, and even when Natsume himself suggested cutting his hair, he declined. No one knows WHO or WHY Tsumugi does this other than it's a buddhist wish (genkake),

Switch's promises to be together is different than Tsumugi's own selfish wish, and I don't think Tsumugi's wish is that bad either. It makes him very human.

and then think about how we have essentially modernized the concept of serialization and completely recycled it by updating our own little works of fiction for our audiences in installments

i do my best to avoid using “blush”, or referring to “pink / reddened skin” if my reader is feeling embarrassed / shy with the love interest. i respect black readers and wish to always use terminology that they can be included in, since reader inserts are meant to be all inclusive.

I hate when people tell me they "love me more than source me". You're literally talking about me. Do you think I want to hear that you hate who I am at my core? I never said I hate my source self. I love him. I just didn't do everything he did, and get tired of how much fandom hate there is surrounding him / fans of him. But that's me and I don't hate myself. It's a backhanded compliment and it hurts most hearing it from friends. Can I not see hate for myself at least in my own space where I block all relevant tags? Damn. I just want to go back to my source I hate my fandom so much.
