It's quite the drift from the usual soundscape-type stuff, and it's deeply personal in its nature. What I'm trying to acheive with this record is to take all that internal chaos and anguish I've been dealing with lately, and turn it into something beautiful. The full album will be available somewhere around Christmas.

The Digitakt Il is the latest version of the famous groove box by Swedish company Elektron. With an expanded polyphony of up to 16 voices, the new Digitakt allows for more intricate layering and compositions. It also has new performance features like four trig modes, a Euclidean sequencer for complex rhythms, Song Mode for full compositions, and connectivity options including stereo 1/0, MIDI, and USB for seamless integration.

Hi everyone! In this video, I filmed myself jamming with the song mode of the Elektron Syntakt on one of my tracks with guitar, in the Kowloon Walled City Park in Hong Kong. The song mode gave me the freedom to play guitar over the music while still tweaking delay, reverb, and filters as I like. It's a bit of a techno, dance electronic style track.

I recorded the guitar with my Sony PCM-D100. As you can hear, I completely modified and aligned the guitar sound with overdrive, amp, delay, reverb, and equalizer in my software, as the raw guitar didn't really fit in the mix. The final result is a bit noisy and maybe a bit unique, but I hope you enjoy it.

The only instrument I’m not 100% sure on is the “speetamor” found on pg 101 of the Visual Encyclopedia. It’s found with several of the other instruments that appear in this shot.

Hard to tell in the screenshot above, but in addition to the five Bith, the band also includes a Quarren playing the floonorp, a Nikto playing the kettlebox blower bell, a Pacithhip playing the podport bandfill, a Nikto playing the stompsqueezer, and an Ishi Tib playing a sort of keyboard.

Also, the podport bandfill's name derives from the bandfill instrument played by Nalan Cheel of the Modal Nodes in A New Hope (as well as presumably being made of Podracer parts).
