The first video is about how you want your skin to be, but the second one shows how a skin does actually look like. Is this possible to have a textureless, flawless airbrushed skin? Yes but only in filter, some of us does have glass skin but this is not what we should be looking forward to. Skin should look like skin, skin has texture, acne and scars. It does not mean you should stop taking care of your skin, take care of it but set realistic goals for your skin as well. Treat your skin as real and it should be. Embrace your skin as much as you can and stop falling for the filters. Using filter is not bad but ut depends why are you using them, are you using it because you like using them then go for it but if... You are doing it to fit in the certain body image the society has created then my love you are being harsh on yourself. So today was Not A Great Day... this means, on the sliding scale that life with a chronic illness and mental health issues is, it was slightly better than A Bad Day, but worse than A Good Day. I’m still in pain from my Botox in my bladder, so physically today wasn’t great. But mostly today I was plagued by my mental health demons. There was a thing that made me very sad and angry, and I didn’t feel like talking to anyone about it. Anyway, what this post is about is giving yourself a break, and applauding what you do manage to achieve on a Bad or Not So Great Day. Okay, so I didn’t cross all the things off my To Do list... but I crossed some of them off! And that’s great! One of my worst mental health habits is setting really unattainable goals for myself, then beating myself up for not achieving them. I’m still learning not to do that, but I’m getting better. So today, I managed to unpack and put away all my medical kit that was delivered. I potted up my weekly meds. I had a pamper session and did my nails/exfoliated/did a hair and face mask/shaved. I did some work/writing. I messaged and rang several friends. And I made it to my guitar lessons! Okay, so I wasn’t dressed until 5pm, and I didn’t make it to Asda’s, and I did don’t do all the work/writing I wanted to... but I still did stuff! And that’s good 👍🏻 Don’t beat yourself up, please.
