Oh, ugh, the humidity was totally ruining her quills, and the soles of boots were coated in mud, but she stopped in her tracks and turned when she heard sobbing to her right. A kid? Out here?! This late?!

C'mon, girlish intuition... it's time to kick in. She used to use it all the time, this innate dowsing...

Finding old coins in the riverbank when she was a kid, or locating Sonic whenever she heard a rumor he was somewhere, but time had passed, and she found herself using it less and less.

There! It was right there! The grass rustled a bit and Amy forced her way through the bushes, stumbling to find a tiny black hedgehog curled up near the riverbank, shivering and sobbing to themselves.

"Hey, don't worry," She called out softly, running up to the child and embracing them in her arms, "What's this about? Are you lost?"

I noticed another human Shadow design has a heart necklace just like the ones yours does so I'm wondering if this is a pure coincidence thing or an inspiration thing (/gq, this isn't an accusation of copying or anything just curious)

It wasnt really inspired by other Shadow designs, but more of personal stuff.

I was redesigning him after i watched the movie, and the retro vibes reminded me that i used to have a lil heart necklace when i was younger. Also i have a friend who currently owns and actively wears one with his favourite...uhh... character, lets just say that .

(Also just. This little piece of delicate golden jewelery with his beloved person in it. An item ususally passed down by generations, like he carries the memory of Maria with him. Also now that I have been informed of further Shadow lore (by upper mentioned friend), it could be a little reference to Gerard using a piece of Maria's soul for his creation? Though that was not in any way premeditated.)

Its really just a nice way to have something he can stare at longingly.

(Ive actually havent seen any other Shadow designs with it, but ill be sure to follow the tag, thank you for bringing my attention to it)

I saw some Shadow fanart and I was like... what would the news say about that day on the arch?

How much does the public know? Did the news even cover the story?

How much did Robotnick know? Was he informed of his grandfathers death or did he just... dissappear one day? Was his family ever told? Where they told they died in an "unfortunate accident."

Robotnick said he looked up to his grandfather, "I always wanted to be a great scientist like him," could that have been close?

I think Sonic Prime could have had an alternate version of Maria Robotnick where she survived but Shadow didn't. Similar to Gwen from Spiderverse.
