Keep in mind that this translation is not official in any way. I'm just a girlie with google and a good understanding of context clues and characters. I make these translations for people like me who aren't just satisfied with looking at pictures and waiting. Also i have used and will be continue to use a fan name "March" for Matilda's doll bc it sounds cooler, lol. The official fan-tl calls her Mattie, but i'm not affiliated with anyone and can name her another thing.

it's not really surprising edward changed the debut again, he does want to impress the third floor shadows after all

but why would he, in the one debut where the newcomers knew beforehand what to expect, decide to change the entire system of evaluation in the debut room? it's been implied to have been the same for a long time, and the debut room isn't even being watched by anyone other than himself, he doesn't have the excuse of having to make it entertaining. why would he, in the one debut where the newcomers secretly received help from the star bearers, decide to add a pvp mode where the debutants have to fight the star bearers? kate suspects he wants to create a rift between the children, but aren't there easier ways to do that? forbidding cooperation between the pairs and/or making them fight each other would have been a more obvious choice, but he didn't do that. instead he let them cooperate among each other and put them specifically against the star bearers
