i'm ngl my star trek au au is mostly running on vibes wbwbwb so it is pretty kind and happy and warm (i just really like how much everyone in the enterprise's crew has such a respect and care for each other yknow. found family and all that innit).

that being said, here are some funky things about the characters ive been thinking about lately (under a cut because i'm incapable of being concise):

the stars were essentially jack's santa fe. he grew up surrounded by stories of starship captains and space and it became his lifelong dream and ambition to captain a starship, something which he dropped everything to attain. now he is captain of a starship– one of the youngest in starfleet's history– and it's wonderful and fantastic and he's never felt more alive! but there's always something gnawing at the back of his mind (he's based his entire life up until this point around this moment, it was a driving force and a beacon to look up to when times were tough. what if the experience is nothing like his dreams and he ends up disappointed? what happens when the mission's over? what'll become of him?).

also starfleet's assigned him a galaxy-class starship with families onboard and he's having a Time because of it (what if they get hurt under his watch. what if he gives the wrong order and a child dies. starfleet officers know the risks of space travel and are aware of this but the families. the children). other than that he's having a great time !!

kath's half-betazoid on her mother's side, but she never knew her mother nor has she ever been to betazoid (i really went woe! being mixed and only connected to one of your cultures but still being unable to fit in even there because of the fact that you're mixed be upon ye!). she's trying real hard to learn more about betazoid and who her mother is even though she knows she won't really feel like she "belongs" in betazoid either. she's working on understanding and using her empathic/telepathic powers more.

oh also!! pulitzer is a notorious and not-well liked admiral, when kath joined the acedmy she officially had her name changed to plumber and has since told no-one that they're related (this surely won't backfire terribly on her in the future)

also because this is the spot (cat) show, kath loves spot (cat) and wants to babysit her and play with her but alas. she is allergic to cats

race cannot catch a break– he's got a massive losing streak at senior officer poker night, spot (cat) hates him, he can't grow a beard but every time theres an impostor/clone/mirror universe situation the other version of him always has a beard (this is half in jest but also it amuses me wbwb)

jokes aside, i've been having a whole bunch of race as first officer thoughts (and a lot of riker and race parallel thoughts but. that's another story). i don’t really know how to explain it other than the way riker acts in the last episode of tng season two (yes, the riker montage episode) when facing death (joking around and keeping up the appearance of flippancy and courage in the face of agonising death because he’s first officer and there are people who look up to him and he has to set an example) seemed very race and very kony to me, in a way. (youve got this to blame for riker beard race. im not sorry)

race is also one of the first people to advocate for les becoming acting ensign. he makes it very clear that he's in les' corner and makes himself responsible for his studies and sometimes his training (and he teaches him poker).

OH ALSO! sarah and davey didnt know les ws going to be onboard and only found out about his presence after they'd set off. did he sneak onboard?? mayyyybeee (he just really wants to be a starfleet officer). after the initial shock (and notifying their parents) sarah and davey start the Let Les on the Bridge campaign (letting him watch the bridge from the turbolift, helping out in sciences and engineering, etc etc) the that eventually leads to les becoming acting ensign. it reaches a point where most of jack's senior officers would probably mutiny all for this kid.

there's more stuff but i'll stop rambling now because, again, i have a problem with being concise wbwbw. thankyou soso much for the ask rizz once again i love your star trek au so much and am always eager to hear more wbwbw!!! :D

i hate how every guy in mystreet is obsessed with aphmau. like it pisses me off SO much. like okay. i get garroth, laurence, and aaron because you know THEY WERE HER LOVE INTERESTS IN MCD but dante??? travis???? brendan (for the literal slightest bit that he was here)??? three people who did not show any romantic interest her besides small (insignificant) crushes, that didnt go beyond playful flirtation and/or quick things that dont go deeper beyond surface level.

and i know mystreet was written in tandem with pdh but it doesnt make sense that they would include a wholesome friendship with travis and aphmau and then turn around and have them turn around to be strangers and travis flirting with her because he has an interest to her (but does... but does he actually??? or does he just like her because shes pretty like???)

thats why i like zanemau (as i will ramble abt in another post) so much because i was rooting so HARD for zane because he does flirt with her occasionally but its always backed up with a joke and he never showed any romantic interest for her. HE BECAME HER FRIEND FIRST. HE BECAME HER FRIEND FIRST. HE BECAME HER. FRIEND. FIRST.

and ofc im going to have the whole group genuinely become friends first but in mystreet it PISSES me off

and on top of that, they treat her like a prize to be won. which makes me mad because their mcd counterparts would. NEVER.

ive never talked about it here but all of the guys (excluding zane and vylad) took the biggest brunt of the character assassination tirade that jason (jason. not jess. jason. i have a firm belief that jason was a bigger contributor to mystreet than jess) went on to reduce all of the characters to cheap knockoffs and unfunny flat, static characters. while their mcd characterizations werent perfect, theyre LEAPS and BOUNDS better than their mystreet variations

and you want to know why? because they probably sat there and looked at the original version of mystreet (and mcd season 2) and said "damn, aaron is a fucking boring character" because he IS. compared to the vast majority of the characters in mystreet and mcd, aaron is largely uninteresting! in mystreet he has no real motivations. no drive, no friends, no job (that we hear about) and we never see aaron and aphmau hang out UNLESS its a scene where garroth and laurence over-fucking-react to aphmau having friends (oh god forbid the woman have male friends!) and sure he has the ultima thing going for him but we never even start hearing about that until mystreet season 3 (and pdh season 2)

and in mcd hes even worse! hes just some (probably musty) dude who came out of nowhere and saved aphmau from werewolves and has a vendetta against zane (surprise surprise, look around fucko! you arent alone, the entirety of rua'an has an axe to grind against the fucker!! get in fucking line!!). hes even LESS interesting than mcd aaron because he legit has NOTHING GOING FOR HIM. he never even made conversation with aphmau unless she was being a damsel or they were alone!!

you know doki doki literature club? when monika starts fucking around with the character files and pumped all of the girl's worst, most undesirable traits to max to make herself appear more likeable to the mc? i imagine that was jason's idea to make the boys look terrible and aaron look like a hero.

also side note: the fact that jason looks nothing like aaron weirds me the fuck out. like aphmau is obviously jess' self insert with similar hair, skin, and eye color but aaron looks nothing like jason aside the color of their fucking eyes. wack.

HEYY I JUST WATCHED THE EPISODE THAT YOUR JAME THINGY IS FROM HEJDHD, its one of my favourites!! how about you whats your favourite episode(s) (im assuming you've watched them all? i havent if you haven't either so dont worry)

oh yes i have!!! im a bit rusty bc the last time i watched an ep was around this time last year but again the whole series is kind of ingrained into my head so

ok heres the list

1. classroom (s2e22)

i just love this one so much because it reminds me of an experience i’d have in elementary. the plot is that a test is supposed to take a place but there are technical difficulties that melanie and jim spend the whole episode fussing over, meanwhile there are a bunch of seperate plots going on inside the classroom between the kids and their little antics they’re going through despite being ordered to sit still until everything is sorted out, which of course they don’t do. in the end melanie is just like oh whatever lets just take the day off. and she joins in hanging out with the kids

2. belsons backpack (s2e36)

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHDHDHHDEHRHDHDSJDJDDDUDIDKDKKDK. THIS ONE IS SOOOO. Ok SO what happens is belson and clarence accidentally switch bags and clarence finds this comic belsons been making out of pages of some sort of zoology book about dolphins, with the main protagonist named bodhi. of course clarence confronts belson about it and he’s like Omg i didnt know you liked comics!!! I love this so much you should make more!!! with his gay ass and belson of course denies any connection. but instead of it ending there, he keeps making them and secretly giving them to clarence. i dont remember exactly what happens to initiate the next events but it ends in clarence coming to belsons house and helping him through writers block and spoilers belson literally cries. over how sweet clarence is. head in hands

3. lil buddy (s1e41)

loooots of people don’t like this one at all but it’s so special to me. they dont like it because it’s “ugly and creepy” but like honestly? as an autistic it resonates with me so much with how i used to feel as a kid if something i liked / relied on was taken away from me. i used to have a ton of meltdowns and panic attacks over the smallest things so seeing clarence go through the same thing in this episode. AUGH just ive cried several times watching this ep its so touching and its so sweet at the end. Please Watch It !!!! im not even describing what actually happens throughout it bc i want anyone who hasn’t seen it to watch it as spoiler free as possible (you might remember seeing those memes about clarence shaving his head and wearing a black hoodie, this is what that’s from)

4. rise and shine (s1e12)

another one that i like just bc its so cozy. the whole premise is clarence wakes up early like at 4 or 5 am i think, and we see his whole little morning routine that involves trashing the house and then cleaning it up again all before mary and chad wake up. it does have a plot like with this mountain lion that made its way into his backyard but i dont care that much abt that part tbh. again it’s mostly the feeling of the episode

5. the entire stormy sleepover saga (s3e5-10)

not even gonna say anything about this one for two reasons. one is spoilers and two is because id be here until 11 am (it is 5 am) if i did so. just know it is the best thing to come out of the whole series Ever and it is the closest thing to clarence being serialised there is.

6. balance (s1e50)

speaking of serialised stuff in this show!!! this one comes directly after the episode “in dreams” where jeremy, a kid clarence meets in his dreams and does everything he can to make clarence stay asleep and play with him, makes his debut. ok i know based off that description jimmy sounds like some kinda villain but he’s sweet and just wants a friend ok. there is not a single Bad Guy in clarence and if you disagree you are wrong. but yeah the episode balance is where balance, who i kid you not looks like a clarence x belson fan kid, shows up first. basically throughout the episode he causes a bunch of problems for clarence and belson but appears as a goody two shoes to the rest of the school, at the end even hypnotising the staff momentarily, before he gets sprayed with a hose and gets thrown back into his little clown car with similar versions of jeff, sumo and belson in there with him. just a really bizarre episode that has some cool lore stuff

and finally number 7 is video store (s3e35)

this one is so good its crazy. it has no direction or planned plot, it is literally just the voice actors messing around in the studio acting as the main three in a video store, trying to find the perfect movie to watch that they can all agree on and have never seen, while making the store clerk’s life hell. it is definitely one of the funniest episodes i can tell you that confidently

Ok my fav ship is Angel and Remus and Sal and Roscoe SOBS their both so cute so here's an info dump about them 💜💜

Starting with SAL HELLEWOOD!

TW// religious trauma, physical violence

Sals really awesome (/neg). He was raised by 2 parents in the suburbs and to all outsiders, they had a pretty good life. However, in silence, Sal was suffering. They grew up with ODD and tended to get into trouble constantly, they had consistent urges to fight and argue with their peers.

Their parents were evangelical Christians and, rather then punishing Sal by normal means, they'd often pray over him or force him to be more exposed to the church. The constant lessons in purity, sacrifice and salvation intrigued him overtime, and he internalized these teachings but took them rather literally.

Sal was forced into a private school for troubled teens when their mother found they had attacked a 12 year old and pulled out 3 of their teeth with a pliers.

TW// addiction, homophobia, racism, bullying

Roscoe is similar but a lot more tame. He grew up until he was like, 11 with his mom, Janet Nygen. Janet had divorced Bai on mutual terms, they simply grew apart, but Roscoe was convinced that Mazikin, Bai's new lover, had something to do with it. Due to this he had a lot of internalized homophobia.

Janet was a recovering addict and had been clean for about 19 years. But after the news of her fathers death, she relapsed.

Due to Roscoe's disdain, she was put in rehab, and Roscoe was forced to move in with Bai and Mazikin.

Roscoe went to a public school for a while, but was consistently harassed, primarily for being half Chinese. In addition to his internalized homophobia, he began to resent his heritage and especially Bai-- his Chinese dad. He isolated himself tremendously from his family and the rest of the world. He didn't have any friends.

That's when the fight happened. One of Roscoe's bullies had gotten a bit more physical then usual during a lunch period. Out of sudden, pent up rage, Roscoe picked up a metal chair and slammed it over the kids head. He had a concussion and was expelled. Bai chose to put him in the troubled teen school Sal went to.

TW// toxic relationships, recreational drug use, underage consensual... Fun times? Oh, and cannibalism. And SH.

The pair met because they were both new and it was a weird dynamic from the start, filled with both hate and.. Mild toleration.

Neither of them had any friends, both were ridiculously self victimizing, and it seemed convenient enough to at least stick together. Over time their relationship grew into something more and one night when they were both high, they slept together and since then considered each other partners.

It was a complicated relationship, with Roscoe's internalized homophobia he often denied Sals gender, but would also refer to them as their pronouns and.. Clearly saw them as they were.

Sal, on the other hand, found it entertaining to argue with Roscoe about his insecurities and biases, forcing him to question his morals and into states or vulnerability.

One of these arguments was the ethics of cannibalism, where Sal argued if they both consented there was nothing wrong. However he also went against this statement by pressuring Roscoe to eat his own blood.

Such boy disasters my GOD I love them.

OKAY THEN REMUS AND ANGEL WAAA!!!

Angel Santos was a college student disaster who had no personality at all. His mother, an elderly widow who was ridiculously obsessed with perfection, was his only "friend--" if you could call it that. They hated eachother immensely. It didnt help Angel is trans and she was... Old.

They argued almost every night, Angel proclaiming he wanted to leave and find a job he actually cared about rather then study IT forever, and his mother arguing he would be disrespecting their honor and betraying her. It was during one of these arguments where they got more heated then usual, and Angels mom struck him across the face. In his despair he ran away, packing his bags and taking a train across the country to never return.

He didn't know what to do for a very long time. The first few weeks were hell, he ran out of money quickly, and had to resort to begging for change (Which, for an egotistical higher-middle class guy is VERY hard.) It was during one of these exchanges where he met Remus.

Remus offered him dinner instead, and Angel, against his better judgement (and dignity), decided it sounded like easy money. He took Remus up on his deal and, I'm exchange, was given food, a place to stay the night, and a few bucks.

This relationship lasted longer then it should've, Angel would admit, and soon he was a bit more then just a client and rather a lover.

The relationship was hell from the start-- Remus was 20 years older then him, much richer, and way smarter (Though Angel would never admit that). Despite these problems, Angel had no other choice. Besides, he'd grown to love Remus back.

Soon, Remus offered him a job at his own business, and he enthusiastically took it, learning to ignore how trapped he was with him.

It was months into the relationship where Remus assaulted him. They never spoke about it again and Angel did his best to hide the memories in the depths of his mind, rationalizing Remus' actions and invalidating his own.

He snuck out to the warzone to see his parents, to prove that he can help and fight with them, his parents saw him and were worried, and while trying to protect him, they died. He blames himself for the death, he thinks he is the worst person ever, he hates himself, and is scared he will be the cause of Rouge and Knuckles death (written by Amia)

- has hallucinations and delusions of reliving being in the war watching his parents die over and over. usually results in needing comfort from knucks and rouge

- lemen didnt have any friends at all growing up, he was left to fend for himself

- he CANNOT handle hearing or seeing people fight. he WILL have a breakdown and he WILL need comfort

- lemen sees qualities of his biological parents in knuckles and rouge, that being part of why he got so attached to the two of them

this bitch is insane. she is a survivor from the war who took refuge in the resistance’s base, but couldn’t go out and fight more. she was too weak. silver was the one who found her bloodied body on the ground in the middle of the road, and he used his telekinetic powers to bring her back to the resistance’s base. shes kinda lost her mind because of seeing so many different people and friends and family members die in the war, so shes constantly having delusions and hallucinations, and usually silver and blaze calm her down. she is EXTREMELY paranoid of literally everyone, thus always having her satchel of daggers with her. she lost her family in the war— but by that i mean literally lost. her parents and siblings and some extended family members went to fight on their own and Carli never saw them again, and she still is unsure of if they are alive or not. this girl gives the vibes of the nso rainbow girl ending. she’s in love with silver and would literally murder anyone who hurts him. was left to watch over lemen one time, and... that didnt end well AT ALL. lets just say that it ended up with knuckles taking lemen out on a walk to help him calm down. Carli also barely ever sleeps, due to her paranoia she can spend up to a week at a time without sleep. she also has a scar across her cheek

My honest answer to this question is that due to the nature of most stuff im working on i'm Never *Not* Thinking about them. Though most of these thoughts are disordered and a tad holistic, so calling it meta feels silly when im just pointing out text observations or something ill later fit into a story LOL

That being said, the latest detail I've been mulling over (and if you follow my rambletwitter this will not come as new information) is the manner in which jake will exaggerate aranea's hot-girl availability and interest in him entirely to spite dirk (Here, brain ghost dirk,) for ignoring him and his attempts at communicating for the first half of act 6. 

Jake knows being around aranea makes 'A' dirk jealous, jealous enough he won't shut up about it, and this kind of honest no-bullshit attention is the very same he's been fruitlessly looking for as the AR hogs all viable lines of communication and "real" dirk refuses to tip his hand. There's an ongoing theme there that i don't usually see explored, and its part of what makes their relationship blow up in the latter half of act 6: Dirk's emotional maze and steel mask of irony prevents him from being sincere and open with the people he loves (metaphorically and literally) even when they're standing right next to one another. You can talk at dirk without talking with dirk, the same way dirk can talk at you without focusing on you - bit of a bad habit, there- and this sort of mixed signal drives jake a little bit mad. He's not even sure dirk likes him half of the time, because it is not something that is stated between them. (And as i said before, the verbal affirmation part of the "believing" process is a big thing for jake - and generally fits right into his neurodivergent profile. 0 emotional permanence, if you don't say you like him he's going to doubt it with his pingpong brain.) So when he sees the opportunity to actually get dirk to react in a way that makes sense, he grabs it. Its a big "Oh? So now you can pay attention to little ol" me???? Now you care??"

(The jump in tone between these because dirk wont let go of stewing in bitterness while also trying to make jake embarass himself & jake throwing it right back at him that at least alien girl is talking to me! And yes she is ""hot""! "And most importantly maybe if you werent so difficult this would be US!!! . jpeg" is A Lot)

(I also posted these two, bc the way jake casually mentions his status with dirk and/or tries to get her to talk about Real Lore Shit instead of more winkwonk nonsense says more about his intentions than brain ghost dirk prompting him into thinking about porn by yapping about it)

In game dirk latches onto making them adventuring agendas and exercise programs and matching outfits and grinding for exp inside dungeons for 8 hours straight, nonstop, most of which probably spent rambling about the supposed intricacies of sburb's philosophical stances, but all of it is never *explicitly* about the nature of their romantic relationship, or affection, or any sort of emotional intimacy without a takebacksies of "i'm kidding, because I'm a stone cold cool dude." It's almost as though he's making their romance into subtext just for the sake of unproblematically acknowledging it as a Bromance instead, given he still thinks the AR forced jake's feelings, except… he's also desperately trying to engage with jake like this, expecting any attention to count as positive attention. Its a nonstop marathon to effectively monopolize being around jake without having to touch on the complicated / embarassing / necessary parts of dating someone. When jake finally loses interest in playing this extended brainpuzzle game of 0 honesty with dirk and his many extended dlc splinters, he goes to sit on the grass and huff and rant about it, but it's nothing we haven't actually seen before. Jake states many a time that he's not sure if dirk is really into him, with all the false positives. But he has no qualms about saying if he had to date someone, itd probably be dirk, or that he used to joke way back if dirk was a girl they'd be totally in love until he realized that didnt matter, all the while objectively classifying jane's hinted at feelings as "unrequited" or straight up saying "no, I'm not in love with aranea, what the fuck?" When brain ghost dirk gets it into his head that he really wants to get into her pants and does all the heavylifting to entirely shift the conversation about how much she is his perfect alien girl. Its just funny to see how jake picks up that this is just because dirk is jealous, and dirk being jealous means hes willing to truly engage in what looks like an irritated but honest way, and jake wants said attention so much hes going to milk it for what its worth. (But when given the chance, he couldn't give less of a shit for actually kissing aranea, and it is actually framed as something horrifically wrong, because it was never about her, it was about dirk.)

The main reason IH is bullshit to me is that it's basically just for the stereotype cliche plot. There's the damsel in distress and oh would you look at that, she's in love w the protagonist, and turns out she's actually kinda special (like she has powers) and helps the protag! Except she doesn't, rather than that, i feel like ichigo is just constantly saving her from trouble and she doesn't do anything—though she totally can, her powers can heal, defend, and even attack but even with all the time and training i feel like she's just still the same. She only helps when ichigo is like half-dead, and that makes me wonder if she has something like a necrophilia kink or something and just wants to see ichigo dying.

And i feel like it's the same w RR, it's the childhood friends troupe. I'm kinda tired of it. RR were basically best friends and then they broke off, and then they both couldn't bother to communicate w each other. They're childhood friends, they grew up together, they should've at least noticed if things were going wrong for the other. Yet renji ignored that rukia literally was uncomfortable w being adopted and rukia hid things from renji, like her insecurities and inferiority complex (sorta). It would've been better if they'd just mended thing between them and then went back to their previous relationship, childhood friends, best friends, or even a brother and sister relationship or even just like a casual bro relationship. But kubo made them marry as if it was a rule that childhood friends equals being married to each other. (Maybe that's why i had no friends when i was little)

But w IR, they were complete strangers, then they had to live together, became close slowly and came to know each other. They were close, they trusted each other, they protected each other, helped each other. Just like how a normal relationship should be, they grew closer with time and they developed their chemistry. Yet, with IH, they didn't show any progress in their relationship. It was the same. Their interactions were limited and weren't that memorable (because i honestly didnt care) and it was a repetitive action. Orihime needs helping, ichigo goes to save her, gets sidetracked, almost dies, orihime cries and ressurects him blahblahblah. And dont let me start on how she's scared of him and his full hollow, that's not love if you feel fear. And then with RR after they made up, it was the same as before, they were looking just fine with the relationship they had. Then they got married. What's the story? When did they have feelings for each other? When they were small, it's understandable that they may had a crush on each other. But after growing up and what happened between them? It would honestly be awkward. Both RR and IH weren't given any time to explain why they married each other. Wasn't given anytime to develop their relationship even further and it wasn't shown to us. That's why i believe it's bullshit and they are simply being held at gunpoint by kubo to act along.

IR deserves to be together, Renji can go wreck his captain, and I personally think Orihime deserves to be with Tatsuki.

I agree with many of the things you mentione tbh, aside from some things here and there like Inoue resurrecting him, which she didn't, the hollow would've taken control either way. Or the part where maybe Renjo and Rukia had a crush when they were younger, which I don't believe one bit on Rukia's part because in that case she wouldn't have had feelings for Kaien as soon as she turned around from Renjo now would she?

Renjo said it himself he, Rukia and the other guys were a family. That's also how I think Rukia has always viewed him for the whole time, maybe untill she got adopted and the didn't talk for 40 years. After they mended their relationship thanks to Ichigo, I guess Renjo was more like a friend by that point.

As for IH..eeeh there is lit nothing there lol, no interesting past, no good developed friendship, it's all just so bland. They share lit nothing, somehow tho she keeps being shown alongside Chad, so I guess we should "see" her as another friend. Or the Ichigo cheerleader? Or the people Ichigo has to save? The two people that follow him around? IDK tbh in Chad case there is a mutual understanding, Inoue just insert herself anywhere she could by herself. wanting to do this and that but ending up just being the one to be saved.

Anyway however you look at IH or RR it doesn't change the fact that IchiRuki is and will always be superior in every way. Like you already wrote, we actually got to see them, from the start to the end develop and grow close, without any disastrous s*it like I don't know Rukia being scared of Ichigo, or Ichigo taking Rukia to her execution. You'd think if Kubo didn't get the time to develop IH and RR at least he would've avoided such disastrous content but nope, he gave them that kind of things, while he took the time to give all the good content and development to ichiruki. Makes sense, makes sense, we just have to get where exactly is the sense lol

 It establishes Good Student lan wangji, wei wuxian as curious and questioning and not afraid of taboo,  lwj sees that wwx is not, in fact, a dumb ass hes just a Dumbass,  shows us the audience (esp. a western audience) how shocking the idea of disrupting the dead/dying and controlling resentful energy actually is,  the theoretical foreshadow arguing, everyone else like ‘shUT UP’,  “and how could you ensure that the resentful energy would obey you and not hurt other?” “well i havent thought that far” and of course, lan qiren just straight up lobbing a hard object at wwx head,. chefs kiss

and jiang cheng.  being the tough love uncle . having raised the yunmeng jiang clan from the rubble all alone, his whole family dead, some of it on the blame of his own brother, his siblings, his closest friends gone.......and only jin ling there needing his guidance. 

THE PARALLEL BETWEEN JIN LING BEING A LIFELINE FOR JIANG CHENG AND A-YUAN FOR LAN WANGJI AFTER THE BATTLE AT THE NIGHTLESS CITY

and like . the fact! that lwj and jc dislike each other!!. jc projects blame onto him for wwx both “leaving” him and indirectly causing their families deaths and when hes so consumed by it he makes wwx an enemy, lwj is there now? trying to protect him?? and lwj, who can never understand the pain that wwx , indirectly or not put jc through, but who was right there when jc tried to kill him and will never allow him to hurt wwx again. and how they like. in a way project blame of their tragedies onto each other while dealing with some type of survivor guilt and in their own way still loving wwx through it all???  amd in way its kind of fundamentally selfish but also tragically understandable? and like when u put it against the fact that after he disappears during the sunshot campaign they were looking for him together and fought together??

JUST. THE CHARACTERS. AND THE RELATIONSHIPS IN THIS. MAN. UGH. GOD. 

and like i think thats what makes it so good? its such a sad and painful and violent story, edgy even, but its compelling bc at the center of it there are all of these relationships and different types of love and hope and. :( i love it

babie cultivator squad is the perfect ammount of cute and comedic relief while still bearing the weight? of the narrative in a way, both from sizhui and jin lings existences, and also. like. how do i put this. they feel hopeful? they were born after a war, they came of age at a time of relative peace, they dont hold on so closely to the resentments of their parents/father figures, they are specifically shown as more accepting and open minded. and its like.... Hope for the future  

one of the ?? things  i love the most is the fact that the main cast are often in situations where theyre hunted/running but they like. never wear disguises... just going around in their gorgeous expensive clan clothes and hair ornaments and distinctive spiritual weapons.... maybe w a straw hat on, just for kicks

OK SO first, the future arc

i really liked makoto, kyoko, and aoi in this!! makoto didn't stray from his personality in the game but he was also a loud and passionate force, i think he really fit his role as ultimate hope in a satisfying way. but!!! oh, i loved aoi in particular. it was nice to see her taken more seriously. i liked how confrontational she was with the future foundation members and i liked her and makoto's dynamic. btw dude. her fake out death?? dude. i almost cried. fuck that aksjdg anyways

as for the characters introduced in this arc, it was kind of a mixed bag for me. some of them i liked a fair bit ( i.e. mitarai, kizakura, gozu,) some of them i was overwhelmed by the backstory dump and then sudden death (i.e. kimura, izayoi, ando) some of them i didnt care for until they were further developed in the despair arc (i.e. yukizome and sakakura) and the rest honestly were either not very likable or just forgettable asljdhasd

oh!! i rly liked the toko and komaru episode. it was really nice to see them more comfortable with each other ykno like, theyre back and forth banter and teasing. theyre friends!! (gfs) its very sweet

lets seee oh yeah. uuuhhh kyoko's death??? dude. to be completely honest, i was in 100% denial. i was just like "no. nope. literally no. that's not canon. that didn't happen" i was having none of it akjsdkasg (i'll get to her "revival" later)

overall i liked this arc! it was intriguing and emotionally tolling aksdbjasdh

OK NOW the despair arc

OH WHERE TO BEGINNN?? ok first i'll say, i really like yukizome!! she's such a good teacher, ykno she cares very much about her students, shes sweet, and funny, and strong. she had such a heartbreaking end god she didnt deserve any of thissssss

aaaaaa i loved seeing class 77 just all hanging out!! everyone's dynamics and interactions were so in character and just sigh,,, chiaki in particular i loved in this arc!!!! seeing how yukizome influenced her to become closer with all her classmates and be a super good class representative was so sweet! chiaki was so sweet!!! she had a wider variety of emotions than she did in game ykno? she was more expressive i think, this arc gave her more personality (not to say she didn't have any personality in game, she did) but it was just nice to see her in this setting

lets see what abt hajime... hmmmmm.. sad. getting this insight on how the reserve course students are treated by staff and just each other was just sad. seeing hajime timidly welcoming chiaki's friendship and taking her words to heart while simultaneously being effected by the words of those who look down on him and also himself just wishing he could be someone to be proud of... was sad. however, i do wish there was more weight put on to hajime's decision of going through with the kamukura project ykno. but it was interesting to see the inner workings of this experiment; how the school tried to hide izuru's existence from the outside world and whatnot.

lets seeee this definitely made me hate junko more, which im sure was the intention aksjdhs. just watching her work behind the scenes while class 77 are just learning to be friends for the first time and just happily living their high school lives was hhhhhh. it really gave you this sense of dread and anxiety. just knowing what's going to happen to everyone,,h,hhhhhhh.

and let me just say... chiaki's execution was CRUEL. it was AWFUL. AAUGGHHH. the amount that she didn't deserve that at all in the slightest makes me wanna cry. it was heartbreaking. and her last words to izuru??? fuck man. shit dude. it was. horrible. its almost too much ykno alsjdhkasd like holy shit. aughh that was, by far, without a doubt, the saddest death in all of danganronpa. i almost dont wanna except it as canon. and yeah watching class 77 fall into despair was also really fucking sad. just sad sad sad sad sad (THAT'S WHY I DIDNT WANNA WATCH THIS ITS TOO MUCH AKJGDJAFD)

ok listen. i'll be the first to admit that this episode is filled the brim with ex machinas, contrivances, and unrealistic blah blah blah. i know. and i just gotta say. i dont care. i dont care how unrealistic this all is. this is everything i've ever wanted. i loved seeing all of class 77 + hajime alive and well coming to the future foundation survivors' rescue. just knowing what they all went through, before the tragedy, during the tragedy, and during the neo world program. these guys all went through hell. and here they come like shining beacons it was amazing sakdgasfghas im sorry im kinda geeking out rn but aaaaa like,, they know that the whole world is against them. everyone thinks they all shouldve been executed and yet, here they are writing their own story and choosing to be good. do you know what i mean??? kasjdgjasdfa i know what im saying is all garbage but i just feel so strongly abt them. i wish i could convey why i loved this episode in particular hhhh. and they fact that theyre the ones who ended up talking mitarai out of his plan and giving him solace is so satisfying. cuz it shows that not only do they want to help him and give him a second chance but they forgive themselves and they believe they can move forward. ykno???? aaaaiaaaguauahgn man,,,, and also!!! the remnants taking the blame of the killing game for makoto's sake was everything!!!!! doing that just says "we dont care what the world thinks of us. we know who we are." YKNO???? I WAS SO GOOD AJSHGASFGHS

and one last thing, kyoko's resurrection was bullshit but i also saw it coming from miles away. i KNEW they couldn't kill her off i fucking KNEW it. listen, i dont care i wasn't going to except her death either way

Ok second half of this; this is just like. non-students who i Actually have thought about HJBAFV not at all a comprehensive list. Again disclaimer i write all these chars as bi in my fics, also i am bi myself so the vast majority are also bi, and also leaving a lot of these vague so u can imagine ur favorite ship or urself or w/ever

ok lets start this off with Aizawa. I think....... hes another one who's rlly unlabelled, doesnt super care to think it through and define it, but calls himself gay bc his interest in women is very, very rare and it's just way easier to say than explain all that. Definitely do buy into the idea that he had a crush on Oboro in hs but i do NOT buy into the easermic agenda sorry. Definitely not someone who goes looking for dates, but doesn't say no if someone asks him and hes interested (also im not gonna give her a whole section but i saw a hc a while back that the Ms. Joke stuff is literally that shes a lesbian and hes gay and shes fucking with him and i love that so much i just wanted to put it out there)

on the topic of the erasermic agenda: Hizashi's pan and knew it before HS, had a sudden & intense crush on Aizawa for the first month they knew each other and then immediately got over it in favor of a similar sudden, intense, and then immediately fading crush on Midnight. Hizashi and Aizawa r just rlly good friends imo; maybe they messed around for a bit in their twenties but it never went anywhere serious. He dates around a lot, not even necessarily to settle down just to have some fun

Midnight is aro/ace but does get in qprs & gravitates towards women wrt that. Most people dont read vigilantes but theres a woman in that, Kazuho, who i imagine she's been in a long-term qpr with; her relationship with aizawa and hizashi leans a little more towards a qpr than a normal friendship, too, but it's not rlly defined that way

All Might is married to justice queer but v much not interested in relationships. He and that one guy from the first movie are ABSOLUTELY exes and i won't hear otherwise; it's the only relationship he's ever had, and they broke up bc he had to go back to japan. He was heartbroken but did eventually get over him; his lack of romance afterwards is from genuine disinterest and not being hung up on his past. I can see him finding someone else in his later years, after he's retired. Definitely feels like he's not worthy of it tho

Hawks is bi but unfortunately didn't get to figure that out until like Now in the timeline...... if youll let my dabihawks history shine through i think dabi was the reason JHBASFGJHB he was basically brainwashed by the commission to become a hero so he didnt have time to Figure That Shit Out; he knew he was into women bc that was easy & what the commission expected from him but then he started this undercover assignment and met dabi and realized Oh...... Fuck. Hawks is hard tbh, bc i think between the control that the commission has over him and his own convictions as a hero he doesn't pursue any romance (tho he does get crushes or find people attractive) and most of his flings are done to keep up his prettyboy act, not out of genuine interest in being a fuckboy. Can't imagine him having a relationship until well after canon but I do see him being interested eventually

Onto the villains, Shigaraki is unlabelled but probably would call himself queer if asked. Definitely admires women more but isn't very interested in romance; AFO actively encourages him to pursue the things interested in so imo if he were he'd talk abt it more lmfao. I kinda see him as demi as well, not the type to fall immediately but requiring a friendship beforehand; tho unlike Bakugo as i said in my last post I dont think it happens suddenly but rather slowly. Y'all know im a big fan of shigaraki being absolutely whipped for his s/o so i do thing hes a big piner, tho he's also pretty bold and unashamed of his affections. I'm a big fan of him falling for a member of the league or a civilian; definitely can't see him falling for a hero unless the hero was already halfway to turning sides already. I think he's also attracted to intelligence and someone who pushes him to think more abt his ideology...... maybe im just projecting at this point JSHDFBVAJKSHD but my point is that the gender of his partner is definitely the least of what he considers/notices

Dabi is bi and, here's my bold take, demisexual; not interested in sex unless its with someone he loves. Absolutely doesn't even think abt romance for most of the years where he's on his own. He's got revenge to plan. By the time he joins the league that hasn't changed much, and he's demi so he's not interested in sleeping around, plus he rlly denies any attachment to people at all. As I said in that other ask tho I do rlly like the idea of him with Magne, so I think they have a fling for a bit before her death :( it's one of the things that leads him to isolate himself further, unfortunately, even from Jin and the other League members with whom his relationships aren't romantic. I can see him dating someone post-canon bc i think hes gonna be redeemed lol. It could be someone he knew before but they probably didnt date again bc he was v guarded; i think magne was rlly the only person he dated

Magne is pan and heres the kicker: I think shes t4t, which led to a little moment just before she and dabi got together where he was like "she wouldnt be into me :/" but she was into him anyway so all was good. She got around in her circles, mostly casual stuff tho she yearned for something more serious.

Spinner's bi & trends towards women but does occasionally get things for men and they're almost always intense. He thought he was straight for a while even once he joined the league and then suddenly got a crush on Shigaraki (around the time of MVA) and realized otherwise LMFAO he's definitely a hopeless romantic type, the whole mutant prejudice thing makes it rlly hard for him and i can see him being rlly happy with another mutant-type; i feel like as he matures he starts to gravitate towards them

Toga is canonically pan to my understanding, iirc her interest in Uraraka and Deku is the same (and romantic) in canon tho i might be wrong. Poor girl just needs therapy. I like the idea of the two of them becoming her friends over her being involved with them but i totally can get behind her having a thing with Uraraka (and maybe Tsu) at some point post-canon (presuming she gets redeemed), tho I think a qpr between the two/three of them would be longer lasting. And again presuming she gets therapy i can see her settling down with someone, gender irrelevant

Jin is unlabelled bc he hasn't much thought abt it, definitely had a thing for dabi and for hawks which does make me sad on both counts. I think he likes women slightly more abstractly/aesthetically and gets crushes more on men,. The dabi thing fades as they get closer and start to view each other as brothers. In his later years he doesn't rlly care about romance, I think he enjoys the experience of crushing but doesnt like dating people; his found family in the League is far more important to him. But i can see him falling head-over-heels for someone quite suddenly and having a bit of a whirlwind romance. Also someone for whom gender isn't much of a factor

Mr Compress is also queer and also hasn't rlly thought abt it. Definitely leans more towards women; he's like 30 but i like to think he also goes for older partners, 10 or 15 years his senior KJBADSJFHB idk he just has that Vibe with the way he calls himself an old man etc. A lot of the league i cant see sleeping or dating around much, i feel like they prioritize each other, but I do think mr compress gets around more than the others. i can see him having a bit of a fuckbuddy who he catches feelings for

Kurogiri is fun; as Oboro I do think Aizawa's crush was reciprocated, tho he wasn't around long enough for them to act on it :( he's bi, tho kurogiri isn't supposed to have personal interests. I like to imagine the brainwashing isnt as good as AFO wants it to be tho so I like the idea of him falling for someone anyway. I also like the idea of the heroes managing to undo the nomufication and I 100% can see him, aizawa, and someone else (someone he was involved with as Kurogiri) ending up in a triad as a result of aizawa and the third partner helping him through the aftermath of all that shit

Lady Nagant is a manga-only minor character but im in love with her so imma talk abt it. Shes bi and leans VERY heavily towards women, probably spent years questioning whether she was rlly bi or a lesbian before finally having a fling with a guy that she genuinely enjoyed. Has only ever been in long-term relationships with women and I v much think she has a gf at home who stayed even when she was arrested 🥺

Finally imma talk abt Natsuo bc i love that boy. He's one of the few unmarried chars with a love interest and he canonically has a gf. I do see him as IDing straight in canon ngl, but the kind of straight where he might actually be bi but his preference leans so heavily towards women and he grew up in a bad home so he just doesnt rlly think abt it bc hes v happy with women anyway. In shiganatsu thoughts shigaraki is the first man he has a thing for; i rlly can see the two of them in a triad with a woman specifically, who helps the two of them find each other and is the one who initiates bc its definitely a weird situation for natsuo
