No Way Out [Part 3]
Warning: Smut, NSFW, 18+
Summary: Celeste tries her best to get through the Trial before Wesker gets her again.
Word Count: 1235
          Before Celeste even has a chance to agree or disagree, Wesker is away and she's left trembling. She feels tears building up behind her eyes, but before she allows herself to break down she looks around and makes her way around to the other side of the building, the opposite direction of where Wesker went. She hears someone running behind her and she hugs the wall, standing still, trying to see if she's in trouble already, but she realizes that she cannot feel the pressure in her chest apart from the constant tightness that is just the usual feeling of stress.
     ''Is that your attempt at hiding? '' She hears a deep, but hearty laugh and faces Jake as he comes into her view from around the corner. Blood rushes to her cheeks from relief and slight embarrassment. As Jake and Celeste make their way to the next generator they hear Ada scream in the distance. She doesn't seem to be hooked yet so Celeste starts working on the gen quickly while Jake listens out for a few more seconds before joining her.
     ''How the hell did you escape Wesker? I saw you from the other balcony. ''
     ''He told me he is saving me for last.. I think he knows I'm the weak link.''  Celeste feels more annoyed at having to say that out loud than relieved that she hasn't felt any real pain yet.
     ''Well, my first meeting with Wesker ended in about 2 minutes, so he must have something in mind for you. Just.. hide when you feel him near.''
          Celeste looks at Jake through the machine and almost mixes up the wires again, but she manages to catch herself. She has heard from multiple people that Wesker doesn't mess around, he gets the job done. Case in point, Ada's screams echo through the corridors. Jake runs off towards the screams, but the telling thunder that marks Ada losing the Trial echoes through the building. The next sequence of actions happens so quickly that Celeste can't even tell what came first. Jake gets hooked, another gen gets finished, then the gen Celeste was working on clicks on with a mocking light in an already bright room and then... she feels Wesker making his way towards her.
          She panics, as she always does. The options are run, crouch, sneak, ..anything at all, but the tightness in her chest overwhelms her and she freezes on the spot like some stupid extinct animal that never stood a chance against the apex predator. And then she feels her own predator right behind her.  Celeste is still frozen as she hears that chuckle that makes her want to have ran away already, it makes her wish she had been able to do what she has seen so many others do. At this very point she has made a decision to get better so that the next time she faces Wesker she can escape him, or at least run. Celeste turns around to face her hunter and not surprisingly Wesker is wearing that smirk on his face that shows how little he believes in Celeste's ability to escape. She hears another thunder in the distance to mark Jake's death... where the hell is Kate?
     ''You have so much to still learn, kitten. ''
          In one step he's got Celeste against a bookshelf, but this time he picks her up over his shoulder and in a true Wesker fashion laughs at her desperate attempts to break free. Celeste hears another generator get repaired not too far and that means that Kate gets to escape. Wesker drops Celeste on the floor with such a force that all the air gets knocked out of her lungs.
     ''Don't move. ''
          Celeste sees him run off into the building, probably to intercept Kate at the gate. She tries to get up, but something is keeping her down. She guesses it's part of the simulation, she could try and regain some energy, but somehow hanging out right under a hook doesn't feel right. Celeste uses her arms to pull her body forward. It's a slow process, but she manages to get to the gen where her Trial started at the same time as she hears a scream just around the corner. Wesker must have caught Kate right at the gate. She doesn't hear Kate getting hooked, but she does hear Wesker approaching her.
     ''I told you to not move. ''
          A pair of boots appear in front of her face, they're covered in what she assumes is blood of her friends. As she looks up, Wesker squats down and flips her over. He looks at her, amused, with that fake pity look on his face as he shakes his head.
     ''Tsk tsk. I wanted to have fun with you. You barely gave me a chase and now you're trying to do what.. hide? '' He scoffs.
          Wesker stands up and picks Celeste up over his shoulder again and walks toward the exit. She can't see well, but, the fact that he is holding her thigh right under the leather skirt in a way that his hand is almost cupping her ass instead of her thigh and she doesn't  mind it one bit, makes her wonder what the fuck is wrong with her. She doesn't have much time to contemplate though because she feels that familiar sharp pain piercing her flesh all over again. She tries not to scream, she doesn't want to give Wesker the satisfaction, but it's impossible not to. Wesker stands right in front of her, looking up, amused by the sight of her blood. He runs a finger through the trail of her blood, he inspects it and then looks back at her face that is now getting covered in tears as she sobs quietly.
     ''I'm going to teach you to love the thrill of the chase. You will be my best little survivor. ''
     ''Why are you doing this? '' she manages to exclaim through pain.
          Another chuckle makes her feel even more like a puppet in Wesker's show. This angers her and she attempts to hold onto the hook that feels less metallic than she imagined it would. It almost feels like it's made of bone and muscle. She has seen Jake unhook himself once, so she gathers all her energy and tries to pull herself up and off the hook. Wesker watches her curiously, with that half amused, half fake pitying, condescending look on his face. Celeste exclaims in pain as she realizes that whatever the hell the hook is made out of is alive and it has been consuming her blood this whole time, and she realizes that  she feels too weak to even lift her arms. Wesker cups her face with his gloved hand, the leather feels cold and harsh,  and forces Celeste to face him. He's not smiling anymore.
    ''You will have to earn your right to ask me questions. Until next time, Celeste.''
          Wesker walks off to find Kate. Celeste tenses up, waiting for the Entity to consume her and send her back through to reality, the anticipation of it keeps her from wondering how did Wesker know her name.  The death doesn't feel horrible, but it's not pleasant. Celeste feels like she's falling, getting stretched and compacted all at the same time. It's like the world's worst rollercoaster combined with a washing machine.

We're a Team (Pt 1)
Pairing: Dodge Mason x shy!female!reader
Summary: Y/N has been working with Dodge for a while now - she's one of the few people who he considers his friend in Carp Texas. Though as a result of her shyness, it's a surprise to Dodge that she's interested in participating in Panic
Warnings: Swearing, Panic events i.e. teenagers doing dumb stuff, alludes to abuse but nothing explicitly said just talks about rough family life (lmk if I missed anything!)
Requested: Yes/No
Word Count: 5,748
A/N: So yeah... this is the long awaited Dodge fic! I hope it's okay. It was all meant to be one fic for a few requests I got back when I opened then (apologies it's taken so long btw) but I was kinda losing motivation with it a little bit especially with how long it was and so I decided to split it up. It's gonna have at least one more part, but honestly it could be another 2 or 3 depending on the length and the direction I decide I want it to end in (torn between two options lmao) so stay tuned for them! Though part 2 isn't gonna be out for a little while yet as I've got exams coming up and also wanna work on part 2 for BWR. Remember to reblog, comment and everything - anything to tell me your thoughts! Requests are open at the moment so feel free to send them into my inbox :) and shoot me an ask if you wanna be tagged in future fics!
Tumblr media
It would be wrong to say that it had been a shock for Y/N to see Dodge at the first Panic Challenge. After all, she had been working at the same time when Dodge had asked Heather about the town-wide tradition. But, it wasn’t something he’d ever seemed at all interested in beforehand - and she couldn’t quite understand, either, why he hadn’t simply asked her. After all, they were co-workers, they saw each other every day. She had even started considering him to be one of her closest friends.
So when she had heard him asking Heather about it, she had assumed he was just being nosy about the tradition, that his declaration of wanting to participate was just a way to convince her to give him the information he wanted. To her, Dodge just didn’t seem the type to get involved with anything like that - she had met Dayna, had been the first person in Carp who he had told the truth to about his sister’s accident. With all of that in mind, she couldn’t understand why he would actually want to participate in something so dangerous.
And yet there he was, walking towards her, flare in hand and eyebrows raised ever so slightly in what Y/N recognised as being a mixture of surprise and amusement.
“You know, this doesn’t really seem your scene,” Dodge commented. Y/N breathed a quiet chuckle and dropped her gaze down to look at the flare clutched in her own hand, embarrassed by the comment. “Wait - you’re… participating?” Dodge asked, only seeming to then notice that she, too, had a number scrawled on the back of her hand. Y/N shrugged in response. “You never said.”
“You never asked,” she pointed out with a little smile.
“How come?”
“Well… you know my family,” Y/N said awkwardly, finally summoning the courage to meet his eyes again. She gave him a half-hearted smile, seeing his expression soften in sympathy.
There was a reason why Dodge - usually so reserved and reclusive - would go out of his way to invite her over to spend dinner at his house with his family.
“Right,” Dodge agreed.
“What about you?” She asked after a moment’s silence. “Doesn’t really seem your thing, either.”
“Well, you know,” Dodge started with a half smirk. “It’s a long summer.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and started to laugh, though quickly quietened the sound when she noticed people beginning to look her way. She didn’t like being noticed. It was kind of her thing. With her aversion to social interaction and innate shyness, it was honestly a wonder that she’d managed to land a job at the cafe.
Dodge was still watching her her, watching her in that way that silmultaneously made her heart beat too fast in her chest, and also made her want to hide from the world forever from sheer embarrassment.
“You-“
“I-“ They began at the same time. Dodge laughed and Y/N coughed, gesturing for Dodge to go first.
“I was just gonna say - you look nice,” he said easily. Y/N couldn’t be certain in the moonlight, but she thought she saw a hint of pink on his cheeks.
“Oh - I - um…” she stuttered. Desperately wanted to hide, she decided. “I was just - I should probably start heading up.” She said, at a loss for what else to say. She gestured awkwardly at the cliff behind her and Dodge nodded, that soft expression still on his face.
“Right. Well - good luck, I guess. Make me proud.” He teased gently. Y/N just nodded, before disappearing off into the night.
//
When Y/N got to work the next day, Dodge is already there. She wanted to mention his jump - commend him on the extra points he had earned for himself. Ask him again why he was completing - no one, least of all Dodge Mason, would compete in Panic just for the hell of it.
But Dodge just greeted her as normal - with a smile, a quiet “morning”, and a mug of coffee slid across the counter to her. And she doesn’t know how to breech the topic anymore, not with the butterflies in her stomach, which are always present whenever Dodge would do something like that for her.
They get through the whole day dancing around the topic of Panic. Y/N couldn’t tell if Dodge just felt awkward about it all, or if he was worried she did - though he really ought to know by this point that she felt awkward most of the time.
She wanted to talk to him about it. Being as quiet as she was, she had never had many close friends while at school - not that she was unpopular, it was just… she was shy. She never quite understood how people worked and so struggled to get to know them. She had always known she’d enter Panic - she was as desperate to get out of her home town as everyone else. But she’d never been able to talk about it with anyone, not really.
And also, she just liked talking to Dodge about anything.
It’s not a surprise when the bell chimes and Heather, Natalie and Bishop enter into the diner - they weren’t not exactly regulars, but Y/N had figured that they’d be getting a couple of the other Panic players in today, especially after Dodge had gotten 25 points. Y/N offered them an awkward smile and gestured that she’d be over there in a moment. She could feel their eyes on her, sizing her up.
Dodge moved to stand next to her, his arm brushing hers as he reached up to grab a glass down from the shelf.
“You alright?” He asked, clearly picking up on her change in attitude.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Y/N asked. Dodge hesitated, looking at her, before placing a hand on her shoulder and giving it a squeeze.
“Alright.”
Y/N grabbed her notebook and headed over to the trio, giving them her best service smile.
“Hey guys - what can I get you?”
“Hey, Y/N!” Natalie greeted her cheerfully - the same way that she would greet Heather or Bishop for that matter. “We were surprised to see you there last night.”
Y/N cleared her throat, uncomfortable at the statement. She tapped her pen on her notebook as she measured out her response carefully. It wasn’t often that she was placed into social situations such as this.
“Yeah - well…” was the most she could muster up. She shrugged again. “It’s a long summer?” She offered, remembering Dodge’s joke from the previous evening. It seemed to do the trick, though, with the trio giving her polite chuckles in reply.
“Could we just get some chips to share and some water?” Heather asked and Y/N nodded, writing down the order to give to the kitchen.
“Sure - I’ll be right back with that,” she said, her words coming out more fluently now they had moved back into the familiar territory of her doing her job.
“Why do I feel like they’re watching us?”
Y/N almost jumped out of her skin at Dodge’s voice being so close to her, having snuck up as she was keying in the order.
“Sizing up the competition,” Y/N stated. “Everyone gets like this around Panic,” she gave him a wry smile. “Sometimes I forget you’re new in town.”
“I’ve been here for a year,” Dodge complained, leaning against the counter, waiting patiently for her to finish so that he could process his own order. Y/N shrugged.
“You’ll be new in town either for the rest of your life, until you leave or until someone else moves in. That’s just how it is here,” she reminded him.
“Guess I should’ve seen that coming.”
Shortly after putting his own request through, Dodge had disappeared into the back to organise the shelves, leaving Y/N out in front to tend to the customers. Just after she had served the trio of friends their chips, the door opened again while she was wiping down the counter just for something to do. She glanced up and froze at the presence of Ray Hall in the cafe. He walked straight over to the counter, ignoring her presence, and began to ring the bell repeatedly.
“Can-can I help you?” She asked awkwardly. She held back a shiver as Ray looked her up and down, sizing her up.
“Sorry, darling - I’m here for Dodge,” he answered, returning to ringing the bell, the sound aggravating Y/N, making her clench her jaw. Though, she had to admit that the strategy was effective as only moments later, Dodge had returned from the back room, looking equally pissed off. He grabbed the bell and moved it out of Ray’s reach and Y/N watched in satisfaction as Ray’s hand instead slapped onto the table. Not that it annoyed him, instead it caused his smirk to widen.
Dodge glanced at Y/N, eyebrows raised, though she could only offer him an apologetic shoulder shrug.
“Can I help you with something?” Dodge asked, placing a menu down on the counter in front of Ray and stepping back with his hands on his hips.
One thing that never ceased to surprise Y/N was how Dodge’s attitude would change when he was speaking to her compared to speaking with anyone else - with her, he was sweet, funny, always trying to make sure she was okay. With anyone else, though, he became the mysterious, brooding character that everyone thought he was.
Ray made a big show of pretending to examine the menu.
“Yeah,” he dragged out. “Why don’t you go ahead and get me the fuck you?”
Dodge’s brows raised higher on his forehead and Y/N had to stifle a laugh at his expression. He glanced at her again and she rushed away to tend to a customer, giving them their space - also so that she could release her nervous laughter out of earshot.
She watched as they spoke - Dodge looking impassive, unimpressed, even, by whatever it was that Ray was saying. Ray let out a wheeze of laughter, though Y/N wasn’t sure if it was scathing or dryly amused.
It wasn’t long after that before Ray had left the cafe, shooting one final, cocky wink at Y/N.
“Everything alright?” Y/N asked, approaching the counter herself and leaning on her elbows in front of Dodge.
“Sure - Ray’s doing me a favour and warning me to drop out of Panic,” Dodge replied.
“Wow, how kind of him,” Y/N teased. “Didn’t realise he was so concerned about your wellbeing.” The corners of Dodge’s lips twitched at her words and he shook his head at her, rolling her eyes. He turned away, likely to try to hide his smile, though it didn’t stop Y/N from beaming at his back. “Did you see the movie theatre on your way here, by the way?” Y/N asked, changing the conversation slightly.
“I mean… I passed it?” Dodge offered uncertainly. Y/N rounded the counter, grabbing hold of the towel resting over Dodge’s shoulder and yanking it into her grip instead to have something to play with as she spoke in a lowered tone.
“You didn’t see the sign?” She asked, staring at her hands as she threaded the towel between her fingers. “I imagine that’s why Ray came in now - because he just saw it.”
“What’re you…” Dodge trailed off with a frown.
“The Judge’s have left the clue for the next trial,” she said, lowering her voice even more, daring a quick glance around the diner to make sure there was no one within earshot.
“What? When?”
“I guess it went up sometime last night - you must’ve missed it on your way into work today. It’s at the granary. I was gonna head there after work to check if there’s any information there for the time.”
“I can drive you - we get off at the same time anyway, right?” Dodge asked and Y/N nodded her confirmation.
“Thanks.”
//
The atmosphere when Y/N reached the granary that evening was electrifying. Dodge had offered to pick her up and take her, the two of them arriving together, but Y/N had said no - she knew what her parent’s reaction would be if she was seen leaving the house in the evening to meet a guy.
So they had gone their separate ways after visiting the location after work and figuring out the clue, Y/N promising to meet him there that evening.
As she had suspected, though, she arrived earlier than him, settling, as she almost always did, at the edge of the crowd. She surveyed her peers, picking out the other contestants among the sea of spectators. In doing so, she caught the eye of Natalie, who raised her hand in greeting.
Y/N gave an awkward wave back before leaning on the tree behind her, turning her gaze to where Diggins and Summer were standing and looking to be in deep conversation.
It wasn’t hard to figure out what the next challenge would be, what with the precarious plank so high up in the air. That didn’t mean that Y/N wasn’t scared, though, of having to step onto the platform. She wondered how many people would bow out here, at just the second challenge. She wouldn’t, and she knew Dodge wouldn’t either - and she supposed that that was what counted.
“Hey! Do you wanna come over and sit with us?” Y/N jumped at the sudden voice. She was surprised to see that it was Natalie who had approached her, having assumed that the awkward wave she had offered would have been enough social interaction for the other girl. But she was smiling kindly and gesturing back at where Heather was seated on the hood of a car. Heather offered a smile when she saw Y/N looking.
“Oh - I…” Y/N trailed off nervously.
“I know you must be waiting for Dodge - but we can keep you company,” Natalie said in a teasing tone, taking hold of Y/N’s arm. Y/N gave a sharp intake of breath at the unexpected contact and instinctually moved away from the touch. She saw a look of brief confusion flit across the other girl’s face.
“Sorry - yes. That would be nice,” Y/N stammered, forcing herself to smile.
“Where is Dodge, anyway - did he not work out the clue?” Natalie asked as they walked over to Heather.
“Oh - he did. He just…” Y/N shrugged helplessly, unsure of how to explain Dodge’s mannerisms to her. “He had some stuff to do this evening,” she settled on at last. “And besides, he likes to arrive to things on the dot,” Natalie and Heather both laughed at the comment before moving into their own conversation. Y/N just sat there, vaguely following their words and nodding along when it felt appropriate. But her thoughts were with Dodge - what she told Natalie and Heather wasn’t untrue, Dodge did like to arrive to things exactly on time, but even knowing that never did any goof for her nerves as she always felt he was cutting it just a little too close. Especially for a game like Panic, where one wasn’t offered second chances.
Sure enough, just as Diggins called for everyones attention, Dodge slipped into the crowd. Y/N gave a sigh of relief, allowing his words to wash over her - again, she had already pretty much figured out what would be going on in this challenge. As always, her entire focus was on Dodge Mason, who was scanning the crowd, his typical public-scowl on his face.
It was an expression that softened, just minutely, when he caught sight of Y/N. While he didn’t give her a smile, he did offer a quick nod of his head.
She was just a little ashamed to admit that that acknowledgement was all that she needed to calm her nerves and allow her to focus on the challenge again. She watched as Drew climbed the ladder and gave a shaky breath as the tower shook the slightest amount. Fingers clasped around hers and she looked over to see Heather looking equally terrified. Y/N squeezed the girl’s hand back, the two of them letting out simultaneous sighs when Drew made it to the other side, whooping loudly.
“Next up: Y/N Y/L/N!”
And just like that she couldn’t breath again. Suddenly, all eyes were on her, the exact thing that she had spent almost all of secondary school trying to avoid. Her legs were wobbly as she stood from the hood of the car, responding to Heather and Natalie’s encouraging smiles with a grimace.
She began to walk, staring at the ground and wishing that it would swallow her up. When she reached the base of the ladder, she forced herself to look up again, trying to ignore the shaking of her hands as they gripped onto the first rung. Dodge had come out from the shadows again. He offered her the tiniest smile in the world.
‘You got this’ he mouthed.
Y/N set her jaw and began to climb.
If she was being honest, she didn’t remember much of her actual crossing of the ledge - one moment she was at the top of the ladder, refusing to look down, dimly aware of Diggins giving her a countdown. The next moment she was on the opposite podium, legs wobbling a little and feeling as though at any moment she would fall down the ladder as the applause of her peers rang through her ears.
When she reached the bottom, she barely registered Diggins calling out for Shawna to begin her run. Her breath was still just a little too fast, her eyes a little too wild. Then - a gentle hand clasped ever-so loosely around her wrist and a slight tug pulling her to the side of the crowd.
“You did good up there,” Dodge told her, voice lowered. Y/N offered a weak smile.
“I… don’t really remember doing it at all,” she admitted as the crowd erupted into yet more cheers - Y/N imagined it was a result of Shawna finishing her crossing.
Dodge chuckled, shaking his head.
“You okay?” He asked. “You’re still shaking a bit.”
“Yeah - just.. adrenaline, I guess,” Y/N shrugged awkwardly, reaching up to run a hand through her hair.
“Well trust me, you didn’t look nervous at all. If I didn’t know you, I would’ve guessed you were in your element.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Y/N laughed, elbowing him. Dodge joined in on her laughter, though much more quietly, something soft in his eyes.
There was a sudden loud gasp from the crowd around them, drawing Y/N’s attention back towards the competition. Her eyes widened as she saw that it was Heather’s turn and she had slipped, falling to her knees on the plank. Y/N stepped forwards instintively, though she knew there was nothing she could actually do to aid her maybe-friend. Dodge’s hand shot out, though, and clasped around her wrist, pulling her back towards him. She felt the weight of his chest behind her.
“It’s okay - she’ll be fine, see? She’s getting up,” Dodge told her, breath tickling her ear. Sure enough, Heather was making shaky attempts to raise herself back up to her feet. Ray was sitting at the opposite side of the plank, lips turned up into a cocky smirk as he watched. It looked as though they were speaking with each other, but Y/N was sure that it couldn’t be anything good. Heather had made her opinion on Ray quite clear.
“I hate this,” Y/N groaned out quietly. She turned to bury her face in Dodge’s chest instead, not quite registering her own actions before she had already done it. She felt him freeze, before he slowly, hesitantly raised a hand to place on her back, holding her there.
“It’s alright - I’ll watch for you, let you know when she’s over.”
as it turned out, Y/N didn’t exactly need Dodge to tell her when it was safe to look again. Her peers let out a collective sigh of relief, which she was sure could have only been brought about by Heather crossing safely. But still, she remained with her face hidden in his chest up until he gave her a gentle squeeze and gave her a murmur of reassurance.
“Thank you,” she whispered, smiling awkwardly up at him.
He gave her a stoic nod in reply, opening his mouth to say something before being cut off by Diggins calling his name.
“Be safe,” Y/N called after him, as loudly as she dared, feeling the weight of so many eyes lying on her and Dodge. Dodge gave only a slight tilt of his head in acknowledgement that he had heard her.
“Hey - come wait with us,” it was Natalie again, holding out a hand to Y/N with a kind smile. “Saw you were nervous when Heather crossed,” she admitted when Y/N finally placed her hand into Natalie’s, allowing herself to be pulled back over to their little group.
“Think I was more scared watching that than crossing myself,” Y/N admitted quietly, though Natalie laughed loudly at the comment.
“Yeah - figured you’d want some company with Dodge crossing now.”
“Though I think he’s gonna be just fine,” Heather added reassuringly.
“He was completely unfazed by the jump last night,” Bishop pointed out and Y/N smiled.
“Yeah, I’m sure he’s gonna be-“ she cut herself off with a loud gasp, eyes widening in fear as Dodge stumbled and almost fell, catching himself on the pole with a single hand.
One more she was prevented from moving forwards by a hand on her wrist, pulling her back.
“It’s okay! You can’t help him, remember,” Heather tried to soothe her.
“No!” She desperately tried to pull her hand free - though what she would actually do if she were able to get over there, she wasn’t sure. When Heather had slipped, Y/N couldn’t watch. With Dodge, however, she was unable to look away. Stuck staring at him, feeling her breathing quickening with every moment that he spent hanging there, slowly managing to pull himself up.
She found it impossible to breathe until Dodge had managed to pull himself back up, rolling onto the plank, the muscles in his arms flexing and his jaw clenched determinedly. A dry sob wrenched itself from her chest, her body sagging in relief as Dodge stood up again and made it the final few steps to the end of the plank.
For the first time in her life, she didn’t care about the eyes on her, the moment that the grip on her wrist loosened enough, she pulled herself free and rushed over to where Dodge had just climbed down the ladder.
She stopped short, though, watching Dodge stalk over to where Ray was leaning against the side of his car. Her eyes widened as he slammed him against the metal, glowering at him. Dodge’s jaw was clenched harder than she had ever seen it before, his eyes calculating his next move.
“Dodge,” she whispered, certain it would go unheard. But no, Dodge glanced over at her and she shook her head minutely. Whatever Ray had done, it wasn’t worth it.
Dodge shoved the other boy away with a scowl, turning to face Y/N and begin to walk over to her.
“What, not even a kiss goodnight?” Dodge met Y/N’s eyes, something apologetic in his expression, before turning and throwing a punch at Ray.
Everything happened in a blur - one moment, they were throwing punches at each other, the sickening sound of fist meeting muscle. The next, the sky was alive with blue and red lights as sirens wailed.
Y/N froze like a dear in headlights, unable to move as she saw the policemen leaving their cars, shouting at all of the gathered teens to stop their movements. Then she was slammed into by one of her fleeing peers, falling to the ground with a groan, lifting her hands desperately to cover her face in the hopes it would stop her from getting hurt by the panicked movements around her.
She curled up tighter as a foot kicked hard into her stomach, her peers still stampeding around her. Hands gripped tightly around her shoulders, then, pulling her across the ground out of the masses.
“Can you get up?” Dodge asked, his voice panicked. Y/N nodded, unable to speak. She allowed herself to be pulled to her feet, Dodge’s arm wrapping around her waist and guiding her in a swift jog over to duck behind a car where Heather was waiting.
“Are you okay? You looked like you got kicked a few times,” Heather asked her.
“I’m fine,” Y/N managed to get out.
There was a help behind them and the three of them peaked over the car to see Natalie stumble. The three of them moved quickly, Dodge slipping his hand down to wrap his fingers around Y/N’s instead, Natalie looping her own arms over both Dodge’s and Heather’s shoulders.
“It’s my ankle,” Natalie explained.
“We need to get out of here,” Y/N said, squeezing Dodge’s hand. He looked at her and nodded, allowing Y/N to lead the way of their odd chain of people, her pulling him by the hand into the surrounding fields.
They didn’t let up on their staggering run until they reached a clearing, where they lowered Natalie onto a nearby stone.
“I’m gonna try and call Bishop,” Heather said, shaking a little from the adrenaline.
They nodded their confirmation and Y/N crouched down in front of Natalie.
“Can I look at your ankle?” She asked softly. Natalie nodded a little unsurely.
“I mean - you don’t have to,” she said, but Y/N had already began to examine it after her nod. She could feel Dodge watching her but she tried to push that thought to the back of her mind.
“It’s not too bad - looks like it’s just a sprain or just a twist. I’d bandage it if I could but…”
“I got it,” Dodge cut in and when Y/N glanced back at him, he was pulling off one of his socks. “Don’t worry - I’ve taken my monthly shower,” he added, seemingly picking up on the amused expressions on both Natalie and Y/N’s faces. Y/N looked up and met Natalie’s eyes, the two of them grinning at each other.
“Lucky me.”
“Your sock, Cinderella,” Dodge said, handing it to Y/N, who began to wrap it around Natalie’s injured ankle.
“It might hurt a little - but if we do this, it’ll hopefully stop it from swelling too much, and when you get home I’d ice it and if it’s still hurting take some painkillers,” Y/N advised, finishing up her handiwork.
“Did you take a first aid course at some point?” Natalie asked, and Y/N bit her lip, Dodge’s gaze feeling heavier than ever as it rested on her.
“Something like that,” she agreed.
“Bishop’s gonna drive around and pick us up,” she let out a sigh of relief at Heather’s sudden presence.
“Y/N - you need a lift back?” Natalie asked her with a smile.
“Ah - I can-” Y/N began.
“I’ll take her back,” Dodge cut her off. “Thanks, though.”
Heather and Natalie looked between the two of them before nodding, Heather offering her hand out to Natalie to pull her up.
“Well… we’ll see you around,” Natalie said. “And thanks again,” she added, nodding to them.
The moment that they were out of earshot, Dodge had crouched down to Y/N’s side.
“Are you okay? Heather’s right you did take a few kicks,” he said.
“I’m fine - I’ll ice it when I get home,” Y/N assured him. Dodge didn’t look particularly happy and Y/N tilted her head a little. “What?”
“Nothing - not… it’s not my place,” he sighed, straightening up and offering her his hand.
Y/N allowed herself to be pulled to her feet, stumbling forwards a little into his arms, finally feeling the ache of her torso begin to kick in.
“You going to be okay working tomorrow?” Dodge asked worriedly, his arm slipping around her waist, supporting her as they began to walk in the direction that he had parked.
“Sure - I’ve worked with worse,” she joked. Dodge’s jaw clenched and he shook his head. “Sorry - not funny,” an awkward silence fell between them. “Hey - were you okay earlier?”
“Were you? I heard you scream.”
“Well excuse me for being worried about my friend,” Y/N snorted and Dodge sent her a side smile.
“Yeah - Ray was being a prick. Shone a light up at me and I slipped.”
“I take back what I said earlier - it is worth it. Next time I see him I’m gonna punch him so hard that it’s me he’ll see in his individual challenge.”
“Calm down, spitfire,” Dodge laughed. “I’m alright - Ray’s just an idiot. He’s nothing I can’t handle,” he assured her, opening the passenger door of his car and helping her in.
//
Natalie comes by the diner the next day after they had closed - Y/N was wiping down some tables, walking gingerly as too much movement caused sharp pains in her bruised torso. Dodge was at the register, cashing up for the evening.
When the knock came at the door, they shared a look of equal confusion. Dodge went to open it while Y/N backed up a little - the movement instinctive.
“Hi,” Dodge greeted, sounding surprised.
“Hey - can I come in?”
Y/N relaxed upon recognising Natalie’s voice. Dodge looked back over his shoulder at her and Y/N just shrugged her shoulders.
“I need to talk to you - in private,” she said to Dodge, and Y/N caught the glance she threw at her as she took a seat on one of the stools at the counter.
“Y/N-“ Dodge began, frowning at Natalie and crossing his arms over his chest.
“That’s alright - I can go take stock,” she interrupted. She shot Dodge a smile and tossed the rag she had been using to wipe the tables with at his face, biting back a laugh when it hit him in the face. He rolled his eyes at her but she could see that he was trying his hardest not to smile.
It didn’t take her long to organise the backroom for the evening - truthfully, it had been a slow day anyway and so she had actually already begun to do it near the end of her shift. So instead she took a seat on one of the counters, pulling out her phone and idly playing a game as she waited for Dodge and Natalie finish talking about whatever it was that Natalie wanted.
“Hard at work, huh?”
Y/N looked up and shot him a bashful smile, shrugging her shoulders and pocketing her phone.
“In my defence, it was already mostly done.”
“We’re done out there too - come on, I’ll give you a ride home,” Dodge held out his hand and Y/N took it, allowing him to pull her to her feet. To her surprise, though, he didn’t loosen his grip, instead tightening his fingers around hers as he led her out of the cafe, only letting her go when they were actually outside so that he could lock up after them.
“What did Nat want anyway?”
“To team up - she spied on my mail and found out that I’d reenrolled this year. Threatened to get me kicked from Panic if I didn’t team with her,” the way he said it was so nonchalant that Y/N did a double take at the words.
“Shit - well… are you alright?”
“Yeah - why wouldn’t I be?” Dodge asked, seemingly surprised at her concern.
“Just… I guess I figured you wouldn’t want anyone knowing stuff like that, especially with Panic going on,” another thought occurred to her, heightening her concern. “Does she know about Dayna?”
Dodge’s jaw clenched just slightly and he refused to make eye contact as he gave a subtle nod of his head.
Y/N hesitated before swallowing down her nerves and insecurities and grabbing Dodge’s hand again, squeezing it tightly. He looked over at her and she tried to give him a reassuring smile.
“I’m sure she won’t tell anyone else - especially if you two are working together now,” Y/N said gently. Dodge nodded his head, forcing a smile onto his own face.
“I told her you’d be an ally too.”
“What?” Y/N asked, surprised.
“I said she didn’t get a choice - that we’d already agreed to split the money if either of us win anyway so I told Nat that she’d just have to be on board with you being part of our team too.”
“But we didn’t-“
“I know,” Dodge agreed. They pulled to a stop outside of his car and Dodge faced her properly. He hesitated for a moment before lifting his free hand to cup her face ever-so gently. “But… I hate the thought of you being stuck here with your family for another year. I was always going to split the money with you - we’re a team, alright?”
“Dodge…”
“I hate to say it, but I’m not going to take no for an answer,” he said, a teasing edge to his tone. “I… I care about you - you have to know that by now.”
“I just…” Y/N bit her lip, looking down at the ground and she drew a shaky breath, thinking over his words as best she could with how close he was in that moment, the warmth of his hand still on her cheek and how she could feel the tenderness of his gaze lying steadily on her. It was hard to think of anything at all - impossible to try to force out any words.
“I’m sorry - I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable,” Dodge said after a beat too long without a reply. He went to pull away from her and Y/N bit the bullet, tugging him back as close as she could and pushing herself up towards him, her free hand curling around the back of his neck to pull him into a kiss.

Tsukishima had only looked away for a moment. He walked towards a fresh fruit stand, glancing at the peaches and wondering if you wanted one to snack on on the way home. He glanced back and his lips parted to ask you, but you were no where to be seen.
His lips turned into a frown, trying not to give into that small moment of panic as his eyes scanned the outside market. You were no where to be found nearby. His heart pulsed harder against his chest as his mind reminded him of that news story of girls going missing in public places. Tsukishima pushed through people, giving half-assed apologies as he thought about you being dragged away and no one noticing. How had he not noticed? How would he find you? What should he do now?
His heart raced as he continued to look for you, giving out a small yelp when he felt someone grab his hand.
“Tsukki?” You were suddenly next to him, smiling innocently up at him. “Are you okay?”
The rush of relief that came with seeing you next to him was followed with frustration. “Idiot! Where did you wander off to?” He scolded, his hand tightening on yours.
“There was a puppy,” you admitted with slight embarrassment, smiling shyly. “I just gave him a couple of pats - he looked so lonely. Everyone was ignoring him,” you explained, nodding towards an older man who was dozing off on a bench. He had a leash in his hand and a large dog sat next to his feet, eagerly watching people was if begging for someone to pet him.
Tsukishima shook his head in disbelief, “You scared me for a dog? Moron,” he grumbled, pulling you further into the market. He didn’t want to be in such a big crowd right now.
You giggled, trying not to note the redness in his ears, “Aw I’m sorry Tsukki, I didn’t mean to scare you.” You tugged on his arm gently, trying to give him an apologetic smile but he kept looking away from you.
“Whatever, get yourself lost for all I care,” he pouted slightly and you tried your best not to laugh at how such a tall boy could act like a 4 year old.
“I’ll stay with you, promise. Won’t ever leave your side!” you insisted, clutching his arm and beaming up at him.
Tsukishima glanced at your smile, noticing it looked... almost playful? “What?” He raised an eyebrow, already knowing he wasn’t going to like the answer.
“You care about me,” you teased, reaching up to poke his nose playfully. “You were worried about me because you careeee about me.” You had expected him to pull his arm away, stomp off until you apologized for making fun of him.
But instead he just rolled his eyes, flicking your forehead gently, “Maybe just a bit.”
That surprised you just a little, your heart skipping a beat or two in response, “I am sorry, Tsukki, I didn’t think I went off that far. It just got really crowded,” you told him sincerely, squeezing his hand gently. “But lucky for me! You’re so tall so it’s easy to find you!”
Tsukishima scoffed some more but blushed anyways, feeling now like he had overreacted, “Whatever. You’re buying me a snack to make it up to me, idiot.”
“Mmkay!” You beamed, the two of you roaming the market together. Tsukishima pretended like he had completely forgotten the whole thing, but you noticed that he never let go of your hand that easily after that. And he always kept you close in crowded areas.
So yeah, maybe Tsukishima Kei really did care for you.

Daichi is a calm cool collected dude. Calm. Cool. Collected. It was as if he was chanting these words in his brain, eyes frantically trying to find you. CALM COOL COLLECTED, he desperately tried to remind himself. Everything is FINE.
But that still didn’t answer the question: where the hell could you have gone off to?
It was one of the first big matches that Daichi ever invited you too and the crowds were 10x bigger than anything you’ve been to. Daichi’s whole body trembled with the idea that you were completely lost and waiting for him to find you.
“I’m sure she’s alright, Daichi! Y/N’s probably just exploring,” Asahi clapped a hand onto his friend’s shoulder, though Daichi could tell he was nervous too.
“Stop being such worry-bums,” Suga insisted, smacking both of their arms. “Y/N can be as scary as the rest of us! No one would pick on her!”
You were fully capable of dealing with things yourself, Daichi knew this. But he felt a surge of protective energy anytime he felt you needed him. “I’ll be right back,” he mumbled to his friends, his feet quickly running around the gyms to try and catch a glimpse of you.
“Daichi!” Your voice made his eyes widen, darting around to try to find you. Suddenly, he was attacked with a full on jump hug, staggering backwards to keep them upright.
“Y-Y/N! Where’ve you been?” Daichi asked with a laugh, holding you tightly and trying to avoid showing you how nervous he was.
“Coach Ukai told me Hinata left his shoes in the bus so I went to grab it before the game! Shimizu-san and Yachi were both busy so I wanted to help!” You explained, smiling up at him while holding the little bag up for him to see. Your eyes flickered over Daichi’s for a moment, noting the slight blush on his cheeks and the way he couldn’t fully meet your gaze. You couldn’t help but let out a giggle, your lips turning into a little smirk, “Were you worried about me, Daichi?” You teased and laughed as his face turned even more red.
“Well I can’t win without my lucky charm on the stands,” he chuckled, ruffling your hair.
“Oh and I just thought you liked me,” Y/N shot back with a laugh. “Didn’t know it was just cause of your game.”
You turned on your heel, starting to walk back to the gym, Daichi following while stammering out a, “I-I do liked you!” He tried to laugh off his nerves, rubbing the back of his neck as he gave you a smile, “Don’t make me all nervous before a game, love!”
You two shared some more laughs as everyone warmed up, and just before you headed to the stands, you pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. Daichi tried to play it off cool but he was wobbly the whole walk towards the team and the group of boys just laughed, all slapping his back in pride.

Unlike the Cap’n, Asahi is not calm, cool, or collected. I mean I think he’s cool but not in this sense LOL.
Asahi and you decided to have a picnic for lunch in a nearby park. But while he was setting up, you magically disappeared and Asahi felt all of his panic just intensify.
Did you? Leave him? To be on his own? Was this your way of breaking up with him?
No, Asahi tried to convince himself, you loved him. You guys had been together for almost a year now, that’s not how you’d end thins... is it?
Maybe you got lost? Did Asahi walk a little too fast to this spot? He knew sometimes you had a hard time keeping up with his long legs but he thought you had been holding his hand this whole time.
His eyes scanned the somewhat busy park. He couldn’t find you anywhere. His heart was starting to beat way too fast and his fingers were shaking while he tried to text the other third years to ask what the hell he should do.
Suga: LOL knowing Y/N she probably saw some cute chipmunk or something and stopped to take a photo of it
Daichi: don’t worry, Asahi, she’ll probably find you soon - you’re this gigantic dude in a park. I doubt she’d lose you
That didn’t help. Now Asahi was noticing how parents and kids were specifically avoiding him. His bottom lip pouted as he wondered just what he could do to seem less intimidating. Should he sit down? No, what if you were trying to see him? Sitting would only make it harder!
Just as he was considering climbing up the nearby tree to see the park from a higher distance, you popped out from some nearby bushes, holding a few wildflowers.
“Asahi?” You blinked in surprise, finding him trying to find a foothold on the tree. “Are we... eating in the tree?”
“Y/N!” The poor boy almost knocked his head on the tree when he turned around to see you, eyes widening. He immediately ran over to you and twirled you around in a hug, “God, you scared me!”
You quickly apologized profusely seeing how nervous he was, “I’m sorry, Asahi! I saw some pretty flowers over there and thought maybe it would be nice to decorate our tablecloth with!” You kiss his nose and cheeks over and over again trying to get him to calm down (but really that’s just making him more flustered).
The two of you share a gorgeous meal together, and you spend the rest of the day with his head in your lap and you braiding his hair, intertwining some of the flowers you found. The two of you talked about everything and anything and Asahi made sure from that day forward, he could always spot you. Any time you guys weren’t holding hands or standing next to each other, everyone noticed that Asahi’s eyes would dart over to you every now and then, whether consciously or unconsciously.
When he got home that night, he pressed the flowers you put in his hair in a book and kept them as a keepsake. And then gave them to you in a gift for your anniversary later.

Kageyama would start feeling panic and wouldn’t even know why. The game was starting soon and something just didn’t feel right. His muscles? No… he felt in tiptop shape. He stretched a little extra today too to make sure he wasn’t feeling stiff. His stomach? No, he made sure to have some food and milk a little earlier. And he wasn’t feeling nauseous so it couldn’t be that. His hands? No, they felt perfect in fact. He was so excited for this game earlier, he had felt the anticipation running to his fingers to just set the perfect ball. So why was he feeling so uncomfortable?
His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to think about what was making him feel different. His eyes scanned the crowd unconsciously before realizing what it was.
You weren’t standing up there with the rest of the Karasuno fans.
Where the hell were you?
His feet moved towards the gym doors before Ukai yelled at him, “Where the hell do you think you’re going, Kageyama? The game is staring soon!”
Kageyama’s eyes widened, noting the whole team watching him curiously. Why did Kageyama seem so nervous? He never seemed nervous.
“Don’t worry, Kageyama, with my spikes better than ever, we’re definitely going to win!” Hinata grinned, trying to lighten the tense air in the team.
“I’m not worried, just don’t be stupid on the court,” Kageyama replied, shrugging it off. But his eyes still scanned the stands. Where were you? You had said hello to the whole and wished Kageyama luck just a few minutes ago? So how come you weren’t standing up there with Coach’s friends and Yachi?
The whistle blew to indicate the game starting and Kageyama felt his stomach turn. Why was he feeling like this? You were probably fine so what did it matter?
You had been buying some milk from the nearby vending machines to make sure that Kageyama had some after his game. You knew that he had accidentally finished all the ones he had packed earlier and had been kinda crabby about it so you thought maybe it would cheer him up. You had stood in line for the vending machine for what felt like forever but it was all worth it knowing that you could throw the milk boxes into your lunch bag to keep them cool. Knowing Kageyama would be excited about it made you really happy.
As you walked back towards the gym, you could hear cheering. Your eyes widened as you realized that the game had already started and you ran towards the stands.
“Y/N! There you are!” Yachi’s smile looked oddly nervous. Not that she wasn’t normally nervous at these games, but this one seemed different. “I think something’s wrong with Kageyama.”
Your eyes shot down to the court, seeing how stiff Kageyama looked next to everyone else. They were patting him on the back, yelling “We’ll get the next one!” and Noya screaming, “BRING IT ON!”
“He was looking for you in the stands earlier I think,” Yachi told you with a small giggle, “He looked really nervous when he couldn’t see you.”
Your heart swelled slightly, wondering if Kageyama was off his game because he hadn’t been able to see you. “Kageyama!!” You yelled from the stands, cupping your hands around your mouth. The dark haired boy’s head shot up to look at you, a sense of relief growing on his face. “You can do it!!” You screamed some more, the people on the stands behind you yelling in support.
Even from far away, you could see his lips turn upward in a smile.
Alright, you both thought to yourself. Now we can get started.

Jin
Jin was once again, being narrow minded. “It was for work, Jin! I wasn’t working with him for fun, it’s our job. I can’t believe you punched him in the face. You embarrassed me in front of everyone!”
“Great! If you’re embarrassed, quit your job! So you never have to see them again!
“I’m not quitting! You can get that out of your head! I would leave you before quitting-” a hard slap cut you off. You instinctively covered your stinging cheek and took a step back. You were in a state of shock. Yes, you and Jin had petty arguments here and there but they never got physical. By the end of the day, you guys worked it out. However, after he laid his hand on you, you knew it was over. You looked up at him and slapped him right back. “Fuck you! We’re over.”
You turned around and ran upstairs to your shared bedroom. This house was under Jin’s name so it was you who has to go. You grabbed your suitcase and started packing all your clothes. Jin rushed into the shared room and pulled your suitcase away. He dumped all the clothes on the ground and threw the suitcase across the room.
“You’re not fucking leaving! Hang up all these clothes. Stop overreacting like a pathetic little bitch.”
You scoff and get off the floor. “I’m a ‘pathetic little bitch’?! Says my insecure husband.”
“You won’t be able to survive without me. No other man would be able to spoil you like I do. I’ve given you the high life, now obey me in return.”
“I’m not your slave, I don’t have to fucking listen to you.”
“Do you pay the bills in this house?! Do you buy the groceries?! Do you pay for insurance?! No? Then, shut up. You wouldn’t have anything if it weren’t for me. You’d probably be living on the streets if I didn’t take you in. I was the one who made sure you got that job because I knew it would make you happy. If it weren’t for me, those guys would’ve laughed in your face, Y/N. All you do is go to work, flirt with your co-workers and act all big shot around me. The least you could do is respect me and our relationship.” With that, he slammed the door shut, leaving you alone while you questioned your worth.
Yoongi
It started off as a calm and quiet evening but as soon as your phone vibrated, it quickly changed.
You began working for a new company and your new boss has been up your ass. He treats you like a personal assistant and it was pissing you off. You noticed that you were the only one who was being treated like this and it angered you. Once you’re clocked out, you don’t like to be disturbed unless it’s urgent. But your boss doesn’t seem to understand that and asks you to do work while your clocked out. You obviously refuse because why should you do work if you’re not getting paid?
Anyways, he’s always texting you about how to do different kinds of paper work, who’s working, who’s not working, how to hire people, ect — he should know how to do all of it because he’s the boss. When your off work, he’s texting you ever 10-15 minutes, asking for help. You’re tired of it, but can’t really do anything about it. You can’t quit just yet because you’re trying to prove to your boyfriend that you don’t need him to survive.
Yoongi has always underestimated you. Man literally thinks that you’re dumb. One night, you both got into a heated argument and he told you that you wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for him. The very next day, you went to a bunch of job interviews and got hired on that same day.
It’s been two weeks at your new job and ever since, your phone is always blowing up thanks to your boss. Even at 10pm, your boss is texting you about work. Yoongi became annoyed because you were always on your phone. You guys got into another argument about this so now, you hide your phone from him so he can’t see the notifications.
Ever since then, things have been a little better. Tonight was movie night and you foolishly had your phone in your hand. Throughout the movie, your phone was lighting up and vibrating multiple times and a Yoongi was tired of it.
“Who the hell are you texting now?!” He snatched your phone out of your hands and when he saw that it was your boss, he threw your phone against the wall. “I told you to block that man! Yet, you go against me and continue to text him! Are you sleeping with him? Are you cheating on me with him?!” He screamed, making your heart leap out of your chest.
You didn’t say anything. Instead you ran to the door. You didn’t want to deal with him anymore. You deserved better. You tried to leave but he slammed the door on your fingers and pulled you back inside. You slapped his face and tried leaving again but he grabbed your hair and pulled you down to the basement.
“You made me do this to you. I warned you plenty of times to stay off your phone but do you listen to me? No. I’ve given you too much freedom and now you don’t know how to behave. That stops now.”
Hoseok
“Get up. Boss wants to see you.” The guards said, pulling you up by your arms and dragging you out of the cell. “Boss my asshole. Who does he think he is? Kidnapping me for no good reason. I just wanted coffee and now I’m god knows where!” The guard chuckles at your bratty behaviour. “Just a little advice, don’t talk to boss like that. He’ll blow your brains out.”
“Shut up, muscle head. Don’t tell me what to do.” The guard stops and aims a gun at your head. “Do it muscle head. Your boss will be so proud of you.” You said sarcastically. “Shut your mouth and keep walking. I may not be allowed to kill you but I can still still hurt you — really badly.”
“Are you threatening me muscle head?” You turn around, ready to scrap with the guard. He may be a lot bigger than you, but you’re a lot smarter and clever.
“Hey, hey, do we have a problem here?” A familiar voice interrupted. You turn around and your heart drops when you see his face. “No, boss. She’s just refusing to-”
“Hoseok?” You cut the guard off and step back. “Oh, so you still remember me?” He smirks and walks towards you but you keep walking back. “What do you want from me?”
“Isn’t the answer obvious? I want you back.”
“No! I broke up with you because you’re crazy. Leave me alone now. I’m a different person. I’m not the same Y/N that you manipulated and controlled. I left her behind. Now let me go!”
Hoseok cornered you. There was no where to run. “Are you sure that you left her behind? You’re claiming that you changed but you’re still very naive, darling.”
His words made your blood boil. Hoseok mentally and emotionally abused you. With the help of therapy, you were able to pick up and put your broken self together. You thought that you’ve become a stronger person, but as soon as you saw his face, your confidence was washed away.
“I- I told you, I’m different now!” You tried to sound brave, but your facial expression sold you out. Hoseok wasn’t dumb; he knew you were scared shitless. “So, show me that your a different person. How will you escape me this time, darling?” He traps you in between his arms and leans in close to your face. In a panic, you slapped him across the face and made a run for it.
You somehow managed to get out of his large mansion, but Hoseok was running after you the whole time. You tried losing him at sharp turns and big crowds, but he was right on your ass. You saw a security guard and bolted towards him. “Sir, sir! There’s a- a man...” you said, to catch your breath, “a man chasing me. He kidnapped me. Please, I need your help.”
“That’s enough darling.” Hoseok caught up to you and without a second thought, you hid behind the security guard. “Sir, please! Arrest this man! He kidnapped me!”
The security guard was ready to take action until he saw the man’s face. “M-mr. Jung?! Sir, I had no idea that she was running from you! Sir, I’m so sorry! Please forgive me!” The guard grabbed your arm and pushed you to Hoseok.
The commotion had everyone watching. The security guard was on his knees with his hands interlocked together. “Please spare my family and I. Mr. Jung it was an honest mistake.”
“What the hell?” You quietly muttered. “You see that, darling. Everyone is afraid of me. So you can run all you want, but you can never ever hide from me.”
Namjoon
After a long week of work, your husband wanted to treat you to dinner. You’ve both been extremely busy due to your hectic schedule and it’s caused you both to drift apart. The only time you see Namjoon is in the morning and before going to bed.
It was Friday evening and you were getting ready for date night. You wore a gorgeous dress that was somewhat revealing but you were fine with it. You just wanted to look good for your husband.
You both agreed to meet at the restaurant and when Namjoon saw you, his jaw dropped. He possessively wrapped his arm around your waist and guided you to your private table. It was outside on a balcony. You guys had an ocean view, the weather was perfect and the stars were out. It was super romantic.
The date was perfect until the waiter started checking you out. Namjoon was visibly annoyed by the waiter but kept it to himself until he left. “Why did you have to wear that dress? Are you doing this on purpose? So other guys can check you out?” You were taken back by his questions. “No, I wore this dress for you, not for some random men.”
Namjoon scoffed and bit the inside of his cheek. “When will you stop lying?” He mumbled, but you were able to pick it up. “I’m not lying, Joon. And quite frankly, I’m hurt that you think I’m doing this for other men. You’re making me feel bad about myself.”
You got up and left but he followed behind. You walked out of the restaurant and got into your car. You drove back home without giving Namjoon a second glance. Once you arrived home, Namjoon pulled up next to your car. You both entered the house in silence.
Namjoon’s phone began ringing so, he went upstairs to answer it. After tidying the house, you went upstairs and overheard his conversation. “We could’ve had a wonderful night, but my wife doesn’t know how to dress.”
Now, he’s pissed you off. You slam open the room door, grab his phone and hang up. “Do you enjoy putting your own wife down?! Do you enjoy humiliating her?! I wore this dress for you! I wanted to look good for you! I wanted you to complement me and tell me I look pretty but instead you slut shame me!”
Out of anger, you slap him across the face. “I want a divorce. I’m not staying with someone who made me feel like complete shit. You can keep this house, I don’t want anything from you.”
Namjoon looked down and started to laugh. His laugh gradually got louder and it started to creep you out. You took a couple steps away from him but he noticed and grabbed your wrist. “You want a divorce? So you can go back to that restaurant and gets that waiters number? Over my dead body. You’re never leaving me. If I have to hurt you, I will.”
Jimin
“Jimin! Stop it! You’re overreacting!”
Jimin dragged you out of his friends house and pushed you into the car, creating a scene. Everyone was watching him degrade you for not wearing your wedding ring.
“You forgot?! What kind of wife do I have?! Are you dumb?! How could you forgot to wear your wedding ring?! That ring shows everyone that you’re mine!”
Jimin was full on screaming in your face and you couldn’t handle it. You broke down crying into your hands. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to hurt you! It truly wasn’t my intention.” You were beyond terrified. You didn’t want to go home because you knew he would punish you. Even though he humiliated in front of everyone, you’d rather stay around people than go home and be alone with him.
You were about to go down on your knees until he slapped you and dragged you along. You tried getting out of his grip and in the process you accidentally slapped him. It wasn’t a hard slap or anything, you were just trying to get away. But of course, Jimin made it a big deal.
“First, you forgot your wedding ring; second, you flirted with all my friends and now, you slapped me?! Why don’t you want to leave, huh?! Who are you sleeping with?! Who are you trying to replace me with?!”
“No one! I didn’t mean to slap you! I’m sorry!” You were crying your eyes out. You’ve never seen Jimin this aggravated. You were afraid of what he might do to you so, you gave in because you didn’t want to worsen your punishment. He pushed you into the car and slammed the door shut. Throughout the car ride, his hand squeezed your thigh.
“You don’t even know what’s coming your way. Just wait till we get home” He muttered, causing your heart to drop into your stomach.
Taehyung
“Taehyung! Let me go! People are going to notice that I’m missing! You can’t keep me here forever!” You yelled, banging on the metal door.
It was your foolish mistake; trying to break up with him at his house. The moment you told him you want to part ways, he grabbed you and pushed you into the basement. Of course you fought back, but miserably lost against him. Now it was a game of waiting. Waiting for someone to notice your presence missing.
- 3 days later -
It been a couple days and you’re still locked in the basement. There was no clock or a window so you couldn’t keep track of time. Taehyung hadn’t come downstairs to check on you either. You were starving and living off the bathroom tap water. You were lying on the ground, looking lifeless when the heavy metal doors opened.
“Are you done playing your childish games?” Taehyung asked, crossing his arms. “You should be asking yourself that question, Taehyung. I’m not playing any games. I’m serious when I say I want out of this relationship.”
Taehyung closed the doors and walked towards you. He grabbed your shirt and pulled you close to his face. “All the years we spent together, you wanna throw it all away, angel?”
You turn your head away from him, avoiding his dark orbs. Taehyung noticed you avoiding his eyes so he pushed you against the wall and leaned in close to your face. “Look at me when I talk to you, angel. Or are you scared?” You were on the verge of tears but you didn’t want to appear weak in front of him. You looked him straight in the eyes and muttered, “get away from me.”
“You don’t tell me what to do, angel...” he grabbed your ear and tugged on it, “I’m your master. You listen to me.” His deep voice sent chills down your spine. You were close to dropping on your knees and submitting to him out of fear. But you didn’t. You couldn’t show him that you’re weak. “Taehyung, I’m serious! Get away from me!”
Taehyung frowned. You were really getting on his nerve. Was he not a good boyfriend? He spoiled you with gifts, spent all his time with you and he never cheated on you. What was he doing wrong? He thought to himself. “Why is my perfect, little, angel acting out? Look at me, angel. Tell me what I did wrong? Did you fall out of love? Did you find someone new?”
You look at him, dumbfounded. “Taehyung, you’re trying to control me! You’re making my decisions for me. I can’t go out alone, and if I do, you stalk me! Then you get possessive for no reason! You almost killed my bestfriend because he gave me a hug! You take things too far and you don’t trust me even after being together for years! You just want to control my life and feel like I’m suffocating when I’m with you.”
You could see fire in Taehyung’s eyes. He raised his hand, ready to slap you but before he could, you slapped him and ran for your life. You were light headed and weak, however if Taehyung finds you, you’ll face severe consequences.
Jungkook
Jungkook was going on and on about you going out with your male bestfriend.
You texted Jungkook last minute because you knew if you had told him earlier, he wouldn’t allow you to go. You simply messaged him, “I’m going out with Namjoon, I’ll be home by 6pm.”
Jungkook was livid. He called you multiple times but you were too scared to pick up. Finally, his 7th attempt was when you decided to pick up.
“Where the fuck are you?! I’m coming to pick you up right now.”
“Jungkook we just came to the restaurant, I’m not leaving.”
“Do you think it’s appropriate to go to a restaurant with another man?! What if people think you guys are dating, huh? You’re a fucking cheater. Tell me your location, now!”
“For the love of god, I’m not cheating on you! Namjoon and I have known each other since middle school. I’ve known him longer than I’ve known you. We are nothing but friends.”
Jungkook was pissed. He hung up the phone and went home. He poured himself a glass of whiskey before sitting down on the couch. He was waiting for your arrival. It was 5:54pm when the front door opened. You were right on time.
“See, I told you I’d be back by 6pm. I don’t know why you have to make everything such a big deal.”
“While I’m working my ass off, you’re out with another man.” He said, putting the glass of whiskey down.
“I work too, Jungkook. And I’m a full time student. If you want to get even with me, go out with your female friends. I wouldn’t mind at all. As long as they remain friends.”
Jungkook stood up and starting walking towards you. “So, you can cheat, but I can’t?” A taunting smile took over his face.
“Again, Jungkook? I am not cheating on you! Namjoon is just my close friend. That’s all. Nothing more or less.” You said, crossing your arms and unconsciously stepping back.
“Stop lying. Just tell me now and maybe I’ll forgive you.” You scoff and roll your eyes. “I don’t have time to deal with you, Jungkook. I’m tired.”
“Yeah, because you were fucking around with Namjoon, right?”
You couldn’t take it anymore. You turned around to leave but Jungkook pulled you back, harshly. Instinctively, your hand landed a heavy slap on his face. Unexpectedly, Jungkook slapped you right back — but a lot harder.
You winced as you held your warm cheek. Hot tears gliding down your face. Without thinking twice, you made a run for the door but Jungkook tackled you to the floor.
“Where the hell do you think you’re going?!”
You can make your own ending:)

Tumblr media
“Cmon! Open up!” Naruto called from outside your house, pounding on the door like he had been incessantly for the past five minutes. “I know you’re in there!”
He did not, in fact, know whether or not you were in there, but he couldn’t imagine where else you would be.
All week you’d been missing; Naruto couldn’t find you anywhere. Sometimes he would see the flick of your hair from the corner of his eye or his ears would pick up the sound of your laugh, but by the time he turned to find you, you’d be gone.
Your absence in Naruto’s life wasn’t something of a minor inconvenience; it was a constant pain, as if he was missing a part of his own body. Iruka had joked that Naruto missing you was akin to that of a phantom limb, like there was something of him that should be there and it wasn’t and he ached because of it.
“No, Naruto. We haven’t seen her,” Shikamaru shrugged. Ino nodded her agreement.
“Sorry. Maybe she’s on a mission or something.
Naruto frowned, sighing in frustration. “Alright, well, thanks.” He muttered before he sulked off. Shikamaru and Ino watched him go, waiting until he disappeared before Ino gave you a kick under the table.
“Ow!” you whined as you crawled out from underneath, rubbing your shoulder.
Ino rolled her eyes at you. “You’re lucky Naruto’s an idiot, or he definitely would have seen you.” She told you as you slid yourself down into the seat next to her. “Remind me: why are you avoiding him again?”
Propping your elbows on the table, you rested your head in your hands as you gave a forlorn sigh. That was a loaded question. You were avoiding Naruto because the absolute worse thing that could ever occur had happened.
You’d fallen in love with the idiot blond.
And how could you not? You’d been best friends with Naruto for the longest time. He was a constant in your life, always at your side. It was rare that one of you was seen without the other.
There was no one in the entire world that could make you smile or laugh the way that he could. Whenever you were sad or hurt, he always had the words to make it all better. Naruto had the type of smile that could save people, and you were no exception. There wasn’t a person in the world that could meet someone with a heart like Naruto’s and not walk away changed.
It had been a slow thing, a soft, unsure growing. It wasn’t a feeling you’d recognized at all once, because you always loved Naruto.
It wasn’t totally strange for you to get excited when you saw him or miss him when he was gone. It wasn’t unusual to think about him before you went to sleep.
But when you began to wake up and your first thought was, “my god he’s beautiful” when you looked at the picture of the two of you on your night stand, that was a little strange. You never used to spend extra time in the morning doing your makeup when you knew you were going to see him soon.
And you never used to blush when he smiled at you. Even you could tell you laughed a little too hard when he said something even remotely funny.
It was one day when the two of you were taking a walk that it happened. He was telling you a story, his motions large and exaggerated. Of course, he wasn’t paying attention to where he was going. As he turned to you, arms raised high over his head, his foot hit a rock. Naruto went sprawling to the floor, rolling across the ground and landing flat on his back.
You burst out laughing at the scene, hurrying to kneel at his side. “Are you okay!?” You asked him between giggles.
Naruto’s face was bright red with embarrassment as he laid on the floor. He looked up at you, smiling sheepishly. “Oops…”
It was such a simple thing, but you’d looked at Naruto and thought, “I love him so much.”
Nothing had ever startled you more.
Of course you loved Naruto; that was a given. It was never anything that needed to be thought or said. It was just a fact. But as soon as you had thought the words, you knew that it was different this time. You didn’t just love Naruto.
You were in love with him.
You’d hoped that the feelings would fade. Maybe it was just a fluke or a passing crush. Day in and day out, you waited for your feelings to go back to normal, but now that you’d acknowledged them, they only seemed to grow stronger. It got to the point where you couldn’t even look at naruto without turning into a blushing mess. It was pathetic.
So you’d decided there was only one reasonable solution: you would have to avoid him for as long as it took for the feelings to go away.
And of course you didn’t want to stay away from him. Being with him was as natural as breathing. But the way you saw it, if he found out about your feelings, your friendship could be ruined forever. This way, you could take some space, move on, and resume your friendship like nothing happened.
But Naruto wasn’t making that easy.
You hadn’t realized just how much time you and Naruto spent together until you were trying to distance yourself from him. He was everywhere. Every meal, every free moment, he was by your side or trying to be at least.
“Wanna go eat?” “Wanna go train with me?” “Let’s watch a movie!” “I heard there’s gonna be a festival in the next town over!”
You couldn’t get away from him. So this past week, you’d taken to hiding from him every time you saw him, deciding it was easiest to just avoid him completely. In all honesty, you couldn’t believe just how much time and effort Naruto was putting in to trying to find you.
But of course he was putting in effort. Because you were his best friend and he couldn’t understand it; where you’d gone or why you weren’t talking to him. Had he done something wrong? Were you mad at him or something? Your absence in Naruto’s life was drawing out every insecurity he hadn’t even realized he still had. He was worried, drowning in anxiety.
What if you’d decided you didn’t want to be his friend anymore? Maybe you were annoyed with him, found him to be too much. When you and Naruto had first become friends, he thought it was too good to be true. There was no way that someone as nice and pretty and cool as you would want to be friends with him. No one had ever wanted to be his friend before.
But there you were with your sweet smile and calming presence. You had accepted Naruto, every piece of him, without question or reservation. You meant everything to him, so the thought of losing you had sent Naruto into a panic.
You’d managed to avoid Naruto for a full week and a half. The past three days, as far as you knew, he hadn’t even made an effort to find you. It was a relief and heartbreaking all at once. You needed your space, but it hurt to think that maybe Naruto didn’t miss you at all anymore.
These were the thoughts racing through your head when you crawled into bed that night. You doubted you’d be getting much sleep; you’d barely gotten any since you had started avoiding Naruto.
Pulling the covers over yourself, you closed your eyes and tried to get comfortable. It seemed like hours you laid there awake before tiredness finally started to drift over you. You could feel yourself slowly dozing off to sleep when a sudden loud noise startled you awake. Sitting up quickly, your eyes darted to the window where the noise had come from.
Naruto had forcefully pried open the window, shoving himself not-so-gracefully through the opening and crashing onto the floor.
He quickly jumped to his feet, rubbing his head with a small wince before his eyes landed on you, widening slightly.
“Ah ha! I got you!” He shouted victoriously, pointing his finger in your direction. “You can’t hide from me anymore, believe it!”
God, he was too cute for words and that was exactly the problem. Your heart practically burst just looking at him as he appeared so accomplished and excited.
But the triumphant look on his face slowly vanished as he stared at you. When he spoke, his voice came out quietly, dripping with dejection. “Where have you been?”
Quietness settled over the room as the two of you stared at each other. Naruto made no move to get closer to you, and you likewise stayed strapped in your seat. “I’m sorry…” You offered weakly, unsure of what else to say.
“Don’t be sorry!” Naruto snapped, anger quickly replacing his despaired features. “Tell me why! What the hell? You think you can just avoid a guy? Cut me off like I’m nothing to you!?” He was trembling, his usual happy grin twisted into a broken grimace so despondent it took you off guard. You had caused that hurt that Naruto was feeling. The thought made you sick.
“If you don’t want to be my friend anymore, at least say something!” Naruto spat. “Don’t just run from me like a coward! If you have something to say, say it to my face!”
There was a harsh edge to Naruto’s voice that he never used with you before. Not in all of your years of friendship. You realized suddenly just how badly you’d hurt Naruto by avoiding him. It wasn’t something you’d considered; you’d only wanted some space so you could get back to normal with him.
But you saw it clearly now, the damage that you had done. Suddenly, in this moment, he was the lonely, isolated child that he had been before you met, feeling alone and abandoned in the world. And this time, it was because of you.
The regret was like bile on your tongue, and you wished fiercely that you could take back the past week and do it differently. You couldn’t stand the thought that it was you who had caused this damage to your best friend, the guy you loved so much.
You didn’t have any words to fix it. All you had was the truth.
“I love you.”
The words slipped from your mouth before you could pull them back in. And once they were out, they couldn’t be taken back.
Confusion quickly settled on Naruto’s face. It was as if you could see the anger dissipate from his body. He stared at you, mouth slightly agape, while he tried to process what you’d just said. “You… What?”
Turning bright red, you pulled the blanket back over your head in embarrassment. You couldn’t believe you’d just said that! Now there would never be any going back to the way that things were, but you had to tell him. You couldn’t just let him think that you were cutting him off without reason.
“I said I love you…” You muttered from under the blanket. “I’m in love with you, Naruto. I have been for a while now, and I didn’t want to ruin our friendship. So I thought if I just took some space and didn’t see you for a while, then maybe I would get over it, and then we could just keep things the way they were…”
It was much easier to get the words out when you were under the blanket and couldn’t see him, but you were still nauseous with anxiety as you told him how you felt. Your heart was steeling itself for rejection as you waited for his response.
The only noise was shuffling as Naruto came to your bed. You could feel the indent as he sat down next to you. He grabbed your blanket, slowly peeling it off of you and despite your reluctance, you let him.
You didn’t look at him as you pushed yourself back up into a sitting position. You’d never been so embarrassed before.
“Did it work?” He asked you quietly.
Fidgeting with the hem of your night shirt, you mumbled, “Did what work?”
“Are you over me?”
The question took you off guard, lingering between the two of you, and you couldn’t help but flicker your eyes to his. He was staring earnestly at you with those wide blue eyes you loved so much. You wanted to lie to him but you just couldn’t.
“No.”
Naruto’s focused expression stretched into a wide grin as he wrapped his arms around you, hugging you to him. You were too startled to respond, so you just stared at him, confused, instead.
“You scared me!” Naruto laughed happily as he rested his cheek against your head. “I thought you didn’t want to be my friend anymore! You didn’t have to completely avoid me, ya know.”
There was a mix of relief and disappointment at his reaction. So, he wasn’t weirded out about your confession? Things didn’t have to change. The two of you could stay ‘just friends.’
“So, we’re okay?” You asked him nervously. “We’re still friends?”
Naruto gave a puzzled hum as he pulled away from the hug to stare at you. He raised his eyebrow as he studied you for a moment. You could almost see the light bulb go off above his head as he realized.
“Oh!” He laughed, grinning sheepishly and rubbing his neck. “I guess I forgot to tell you it back, huh? I thought it was obvious! I love you too, believe it!”
You blinked as he giggled embarrassedly, that signature smile of his on his lips. “Naruto!” You snapped at him, lunging and knocking you both off the bed. He landed on his back with you on top of him as you rubbed your fist into his head. “You dummy!”
“Hey! Cut it out!” Naruto whined, squirming under your touch. “Is that any way to treat your boyfriend!?”
The question was enough to make you stop, your mouth frozen in a surprised “o” shape, just like he hoped. He laughed, sitting up and holding you to him before he placed a happy kiss to your cheek, making your face flush over red.
You placed your hands on his shoulders, looking at him as it finally sunk in what he said. He loved you too. He called himself your boyfriend. “Is that your way of asking me?” You questioned.
Naruto nodded earnestly. “And my way to get you to stop giving me a noogie! It’s a win win! Well, if you say yes, that is…”
Shaking your head, you laughed as your whole body softened in relief. Your arms slipped around his neck as you hugged him tightly. “Yes, obviously!” You told him. “Yes! I love you.” Naruto hugged you back just as fiercely. When he finally pulled away, he didn’t hesitate. His hand reached up to cup your cheek as he leaned forward, pressing a sweet, soft kiss to your lips.
Well, you guessed your friendship was officially ruined. But suddenly, you didn’t mind so much.

𝐝𝐨𝐞 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 — jesse lingard
summary: jesse was afraid to lose you, but you have to reassure him that his money and fame mean nothing to you.
notes: requests are open, ask away!
for @bite-me-en-la-boca
Jesse was afraid to lose you, as simple as that. He wasn’t blind to the double takes people do when you walk past them, or the comments from men at the club when they pass. You were stunning — and Jesse knew that, along with everyone else.
Even his own friends would make little comments, obviously they knew they wouldn’t act on it, so did he, but his girlfriend was wanted by even his closest mates. It definitely made him hold onto you a little tighter. Whenever you’d visit him at training, or go to an event with him, he’d keep you close and constantly shower you in affection, so everybody knew you were his.
The Instagram comments were the worst, not only would his be littered with ‘she’s fit’ or ‘lucky man’, but yours were so vivid that you’d refuse to open them. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t scroll through them every once in a while to see what people were saying, only to return to you a while later with a heavy heart.
The whole of the UK male population were after you, which is why tonight was the worst for Jesse. You were celebrating Marcus’ birthday, and it was completely unlike him to want to go clubbing, but you both agreed anyway.
Jesse watched with a sick feeling in his stomach, almost feeling the need to grab his phone and text his best friend that he was too sick to go. And keep you at home. He knew what tonight would be like, he knew that someone would make a comment, or give you a suggestive glance, and it would ruin his night.
“How do I look?” You asked, smiling innocently up at your boyfriend. Even with heels on, he towered over you. Jesse pushed his negative thoughts to the side to compliment you.
“Wow. Where’s Y/N gone?” He asked, holding your hand and twirling you around slowly. You met his eyes once again with a pout, and Jesse kissed it away. There was never a day he didn’t compliment you on your beauty.
“Real funny. Are you ready?”
“Do I look ready?” Jesse countered, standing back from you and showing off his smart casual attire. You laughed and smoothed the fabric of his shirt down, smiling up at him. He looked back down at you with so much love in his eyes, you’d forget he was hiding his intrusive thoughts behind those eyes.
The pair of you left, getting an Uber to the club you were supposed to arrive at 20 minutes ago. Marcus was waiting inside, sitting in a booth with a few other United boys. The second Marcus spotted you, he moved out of the booth to greet you both.
“Jess,” Marcus spoke, pulling his best friend into a hug, “how’ve you been?”
Jesse just nodded, watching his attention divert from him to you. He squeezed you tightly and almost lifted you from your feet. He knew Marcus would never betray him like that, no matter how hot you were. He trusted Marcus entirely, but it was just adding fuel to the fire. Jesse felt tense from the moment he entered the club, the boys greeting you and having a laugh with you. It was off-putting, he just wanted to go home and watch your rubbish tv. He’d sit through hours of it if it meant you weren’t here getting preyed on.
Throughout the night, you’d had shot after shot, begging Jesse to dance with you an hour in. And he was keeping you close to him, eyes watching intently as you swayed your hips onto him. Your eyes were on him the entire time, not paying mind to the people around you. Jesse so badly wanted to enjoy this moment with you, but those eyes surrounding you were slowly pushing him over the edge.
“What the fuck are you staring at?” He snapped, causing a small space to form between the pair of you. You stepped back in shock, staring at your boyfriend who angrily stared at the people surrounding you.
His eyes had found yours again, but you were gone. You’d approached the booth Marcus was sitting at, wedging between him and Jadon, a frown on your face.
“What happened, Y/N?” Marcus questioned, an arm around your shoulder as you looked visibly upset. You saw Jesse sat at the bar now, head in his hands with a drink in front of him.
“He just shouted in front of everyone, it’s so embarrassing.” You stated, folding your arms and stealing a drink from the table. You didn’t know who the victim of the stolen drink was, quite frankly, you didn’t care. Jesse had bursted his anger in front of everyone, and even though it wasn’t directed at you, it still embarrassed you.
The next half hour was torture, you were slowly losing your buzz and the night was becoming boring. You were sandwiched between the two boys, and they refused to let you have any more drinks. Jesse was still sulking at the bar, but you didn’t care. You’d let him sulk there for the remainder of the evening, if need be.
“Guys, I think I might head home,” you mentioned, standing up and wiggling over the line of boys, “I’m super tired now.” You waved sweetly at Marcus, wishing him one more ‘happy birthday’ before you were leaning against the wall and waiting for your Uber.
Jesse looked back at the booth, wondering which boy had an arm around you this time, but you were gone. The space between Marcus and Jadon that you occupied had now disappeared. His eyes frantically searched the dance floor, but you were nowhere to be seen. It was only then that he started to regret shouting. He could lie and say he didn’t know what came over him, but he did know. He was jealous.
“She’s gone home.” Marcus spoke into his friend’s ear, patting him on the shoulder. It eased Jesse’s thoughts a little, but he still felt horrible. Jesse had gotten an Uber home not long after you, finding the house completely dark apart from your shared bedroom.
You were tucked into bed, Netflix in the background as you scrolled through your phone. You could see Jesse standing in the doorway, but didn’t acknowledge him as he walked in and sat on your side of the bed. His hand rested on the lump in the duvet that was your leg, waiting for you to say something. But you didn’t.
“I’m sorry.” He blurted out, his voice soft with guilt. You didn’t even react, you just kept scrolling. “Really, I am. I’m sorry for ruining your night.”
“It’s done now, you need to go to bed. You have Hope tomorrow.” You replied, a lack of emotion in your voice. He knew you loved when Hope was round, the pair of you got on immensely. But you seemed bored now. Bored of listening to him. You had gotten out of bed and left the room, wandering downstairs to distract yourself with something else.
“It’s not done, babe.” Jesse spoke, following your footsteps as you turned into the kitchen. You stood at the counter, grabbing a coffee pod from your cupboard and beginning to make yourself a coffee.
“What else do you want to say, Jesse?” You argued calmly, Jesse almost jumping at the mention of his name. It was always silly pet names, never his name. He could see by the look on your face that you were over this, you were tired, grumpy, getting slightly hungover.
“I know I should never have shouted like that, in front of everyone,” he spluttered, alcohol still in his system. His words were not stringing together very well, which presented a bad case on his behalf, “the last thing I wanted to do was hurt you because of my own insecurities.”
Jesse wasn’t the type to show his insecurities to anyone, not even you at times, but you knew they were there. He was stuck in the mindset of sweeping them away, out of sight and out of mind. You wanted to badly to help him work through them like he did with yours, but he’d never disclose what was bothering him. You turned to look at him, the argument long forgotten now as you wanted this to be the chance he finally opens up.
“What insecurities, Jess?” You wondered, slowly approaching him. Your small hands held his cheeks, you could’ve sworn you’d seen a glint in his eyes.
He shook his head, the window now closed. The opportunity for the pair of you to sit down and talk about what bothered him, it was gone. You were back to pretending not to see his tensed jaw and white knuckles from squeezing his fist together. You sat at the island in defeat, your headache prominent now.
Jesse’s hand fell upon your shoulder, your eyes meeting once again. Your face contorted as a tear fell from your eye, Jesse now going into full on panic mode. He sat beside you, pulling you into his chest and holding you close. You could hear his heart pounding in his chest, you weren’t the only one who wished he could say how he felt.
“How are we ever going to move forward together if I don’t know how you’re feeling?” You asked honestly, holding his bare arm and pulling it close to you. There would always be this barricade stopping you from moving forward, his insecurities stopping you both from being able to talk to each other.
Jesse pulled away from you, his fingers fiddling with the expensive ring on your finger. He’d gifted it to you on your two-year anniversary, it was a beautiful night. “I just get jealous. I see your Instagram comments, and mine. I see the way random men look at you on the street, in the club, in the fucking supermarket. Even the boys are always complimenting you, being touchy with you. It might sound stupid and it might seem like it’s nothing, but it makes me fucking jealous.”
“You know I’d never do that to you,” you turned to Jesse, now clutching his hand tightly, “you’re the only one I want.”
“I know that, love. I have been fucked around before, girls always go after my money and my name. You don’t even shoo these boys away. It’s like you enjoy their attention.” Jesse accused, his tone still soft with you. He never raises his voice with you, and you never have with him.
This comment hurt you, your waterline burned with tears once again, hearing your boyfriend even fathom these ideas. “I don’t pay these boys any mind. You’re the only one I want attention from, I barely give the rest of them a second glance. And I’m sorry that your friends are touchy with me, I just give them lots of hugs and squeezes because they’re your friends, I want them to like me. I know how important they are to you. So they’re important to me.”
Even though Jesse thought you liked the attention, and wanted him for his name and wealth, even though it deeply pained you for him to think these things of you, you kept it cool. He was hurting, these were his insecurities. You looked up at him, giving him your infamous doe eyes, the ones he fell for in the first place.
“If I only wanted you for your wealth and name, I wouldn’t bother with Hope. I love that girl, she’s my best friend. I’d do anything for her,” Jesse smiled at your comment, his hand smoothing over your cheek, “I wouldn’t bother with your family, I wouldn’t call them up everyday asking how they are. I wouldn’t bother with your career, making sure your training kit is washed and you have appropriate lunch.” You emphasised the word appropriate, as Jesse would sometimes leave with just one of Hope’s lunchables, or just a yoghurt.
Jesse let out a laugh, both hands now holding your face close to his. “Thank you. I’m sorry for doubting you.”
“I won’t take your name when we get married, just to prove that I’m not in it for fame and wealth,” you admitted, a smile on your face, “I don’t know how you do it if I’m honest, you can’t even walk around the shop without someone approaching you. It’d get on my nerves.”
“Of course you’re gonna take my name,” Jesse cooed, kissing the bridge of your nose and looking down at you once more, “and you better get used to it, because I’m not giving you up.” He held you tight to him, the both of you still reeking of alcohol and the coffee long forgotten.

it's the only thought that keeps her going on with her life. it didn't matter to her that many people despise her for her lineage. it didn't matter to her that her family has turned their back on her for choosing the role of a knight.
all that mattered to her is the fact that her soulmate will accept her for who she is, a person who's misunderstood by all.
every night, when the woman is on her bed, eula would stare at her wrist– her wrist that has words that her soulmate will say.
"you're my soulmate"
although she's awake, the woman could dream of you. dreams that has you two meeting each other, living happily together, loving each other till the end of times, you laughing off her empty "vengeance" talk,
those dreams never failed to make her smile with joy and hope.
but it was those kind of dreams that made her hope too much to be blinded from reality.
"did you hear about the newcomer in town?"
"of course! they came up to me about the directions to that empty house that hasn't been used by anyone for a long time."
"oh my! i better make some food as a welcoming gift for them."
eula furrowed her eyebrows at the conversations she's been hearing during her stroll around the city. a new person moving in mondstadt?
"hmph, this matter is none of my business." she muttered, walking pass by to people– who are too busy talking about the latest topic that's been going around the city. the woman could care less about the newcomer, and besides; she's sure that the new person will hate her once they find out about her lineage.
the day goes on as per usual, with eula finishing her tasks given by the acting grandmaster and finds herself staying by the tavern, far away from the locals who visit the place and far away from the noisiness.
it's just her alone, as always.
as eula takes a sip of her drink by the second floor of angel's share, she suddenly caught something, or rather someone, by her eye.
so that's the newcomer?
down below from where the spindrift knight stays, a person was sitting by one of the stools, chatting away with charles with a tired smile on their face.
the woman couldn't help but watch you from afar, observing you closely with an unexplainable look, only to immediately look away when you suddenly look up from where she is.
please don't tell me they saw me staring, eula thought to herself, shutting her eyes in embarrassment.
her heart paces when she overheard you saying "excuse me for a moment." to the bartender before walking away, to where? did you get creeped out from her–?
her breath hitches when she hears footsteps from the stairs, causing her eyes to open and look up at the stairway.
her eyes landed on yours.
before you could speak a word to eula, she immediately stood up in panic, her cheeks flushed from the fact that you probably caught her staring at you. she didn't know if her sudden actions was her being drunk or from the overwhelming embarrassment that made her lose herself.
"forgive me that i made you uncomfortable from me staring. i couldn't help but notice that you're new around here so i.. i observed you–"
"you're my soulmate."
eula stays silent, eyes slowly widening from surprise.
"what?"
the woman was busy being shocked that she didn't notice your reaction of your discovery. "you're.. you're my soulmate. you said the things on my wrist." you clarified, showing her your wrist that has the words that she exactly said moments ago.
eula suddenly looks up at you with her eyes brightening, something that took you back by surprise. "this... this isn't a dream, right?" she asks.
as the knight started talking more enthusiastically, you stared at her with guilt creeping up to you.
"eula... eula lawrence is your name, isn't it?" you ask.
"yes," she said, still looking at you with gleam. "i know that a lot of people despise me for the sins my family has committed back then, but i can assure you that i'm not like my lineage–"
"sorry, i can't be with a problematic person like you."
those words made eula stand frozen in place. did she hear that right?
she slowly furrows her eyebrows. "what... what do you mean?" she asks, hoping that the worst isn't happening to her.
you let out a sigh, looking away from her gaze. "i'm really sorry eula but.. i really can't be with you–"
"why not? i... i'm telling you the truth, i'm a part of the knights of favonius– and i can't imagine myself being as evil and devious as my blood-related." eula exclaims, slamming one hand on the table. she can't believe what she's experiencing, are you actually not accepting her as your soulmate?!
"i know, eula, i know." you replied with a sad smile. "but i can't be with you. not when i know that everyone else will hate me here if they find out that i'm your soulmate."
eula felt her heart shattered.
you turn away from her direction, your back now facing her. "i didn't come here in mondstadt just to be hated again, eula. i don't want to experience the same thing that happened to me in my homeland."
she watched as you start walking away. away from her, away from the potential memories the two of you would've made, away from your destined lover that celestia chose,
the both of you knew that deep down, you both are one and the same.
but the difference is that you're willing to give up on your own soulmate in exchange for a chance in a new life.
as you finally disappear from the spindrift knight's vision, she sank down on her seat, still in shocked from what just happened to her.
instead of her dream coming to life, all she received was a nightmare dressed like a daydream.
eula had always thought her soulmate wouldn't be like anyone else.
turns out you're just like everyone else.

"have you ever met someone who's smile could grow fllowers, master jean?" klee asked, looking up from her sketchbook to see the acting grandmaster.
jean stopped sorting documents on her desk, the question the youngest knight had asked gave her sudden memories.
memories she never wanted to remember.
she wonders what would've happened if things had been different.
.
"thank you, grandmaster jean." you said with a grateful smile. "i'm new to the city but i've heard many great things about yo–"
"it's... it's you." jean spoke up, eyes widening in shocked. "you're my soulmate!"
your eyes widens in surprise, staring at her as though she has two heads. "oh... oh my." you blurted, covering your mouth.
.
"thank you, grandmaster jean!" you exclaim, watching as the woman walk towards to you with your mora pouch that was stolen by a thief. "i don't know what to do if the thief managed to get away with it."
jean's heart skips a beat at your words, looking down at her wrist in astonishment.
"it's.. it's you!"
.
the acting grandmaster could think of many ways of meeting you.
but why did the worst one have to come true?
"thank you... grandmaster jean." you whispered, coughing out blood as she places your body in her arms, her eyes widening in horror as she realizes what you just said.
"it's... it's you." jean spoke up, voice cracking as she holds on to your injured body closer with tears forming in her eyes. "oh gods... why did it have to be you?"
you've mistaken jean not wanting to be your soulmate, causing your heart to clench in sadness. what you didn't know was that she was talking about the fact that you're the person who had to die from protecting her.
the both of you knew you wouldn't make it. even jean couldn't heal you nor take you to the cathedral in time, not when you're bleeding so much from the wrath of a mitachurl.
"why did you... why did you have to get injured so bad because of me?" she closes her eyes shut, hoping that she's just dreaming. "you need to stay with me, it's... it's the least you can do!"
you try to lift your hand up to comfort your soulmate, who's starting to sob. "i did it so that you won't get hurt... mondstadt needs you m-more than me." you explained.
"you could've pushed both of us! instead of using your body as my shield!" jean retorts, her sobs began to get worsen as she grips you tightly. "i don't... i don't want you to die."
you try your best to stay awake– you really did.
you finally had enough strength to put your hand on her cheek, wiping her tears away as you ignore the overwhelming pain all over your body.
you then gave her a smile, one that would forever haunt her.
"i love you. even after death–"
"master jean?" jean blinks a few times, realizing that she's been thinking about it again as she looks at klee in confusion.
klee deeply frowned at the sight of jean. "master jean, are you okay?" she asks.
the grandmaster's shoulders began to relaxed, putting on a fake smile for the child. "yes, i'm fine. i was just uh, thinking about your question. what was your question again?"
the knight didn't seem to be focused too much on the woman, given that the child went back to her happy attitude. "have you ever met someone who's smile could grow flowers?" she asks.
jean nods, though her smile no longer reached her eyes.
"yes, i had."
it was a smile that could grow pain and unforgettable memories.

Graveyard Siblings (3)
Some for revenge and some sibling bonding.
[Masterlist]
(Part 1)(Part 2)
-------
Adrien was next to be visited. Plagg woke him up from his sleep.
-------
“Kit, wake up. I want camembert.”
“Plagg, silence. You are not getting any cheese if you do that.”
“Sorry, Adrien but you are not my ‘master’ anymore.”
“Plagg? Why are you here? Where’s the ring?”
“The ring is as far away as possible and kept safely away. I am here because someone wants to talk to you.”
“Who?”
A cloaked, hooded figure stepped out of the shadows to his room.
“Kitty. My Chaton. Did you miss me?” A sweet, familiar but yet so terrifying voice came from the figure.
She pulled down the hood to reveal Ladybug with a wicked-looking black mask with white lenses.
“What am I talking about? You do miss me. Your Bugaboo. Too bad I don’t feel the same, Adrien.”
Lightning flashed and it started to rain. The mask was gone, revealing his dead classmate, Marinette with chilling red eyes. The pigtails grew longer and curved upwards, giving the illusion of her having horns. Twin blades flashed and she leaped towards him. (Damian gave them to her with some lessons in exchange for spending time with, babysitting, the kwamis.)
Adrien scrambled away from the bed in the nick of time. A sword impaling the spot where he just was.
“Plagg, help. Where is the ring? I need to transform.”
“Sorry, kitten. I am not telling you. Even if you did have the ring, it’s not going to be much help.”
“Kitty, stay still. Then, we can be together. Just like you wanted.”
Adrien continued to dodge.
“What do you mean?” He all but screamed at Plagg.
“Pigtails, here, is a vengeful spirit. She’s not going to stop until she is satisfied. How about asking her what she wants?”
“Ladybug, what do you want?”
“What I wanted was a partner I could rely on, someone I can trust with my life, someone who wouldn’t stab me in the back for his own selfish gain. I wanted a friend who would have my back and not tell me to keep quiet at the price of my mental health and my relationships with people I care about. WAS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!”
She managed to get a cut on his left cheek.
Soon, he was on the ground, bleeding out on the round.
“Tell Hawkmoth that he better watch out. Because-” lightning struck and Plagg and Ladybug had disappeared, “his downfall is coming.” Her voice echoed through his room.
Adrien laid bleeding until Natalie opened the door after hearing a crash from the room and came to check on him. As she called an ambulance for Adrien, she wondered if it wasn’t too late to ask for redemption and be spared from Ladybug’s wrath for her part in her murder.
Adrien had the word ‘TRAITOR’ carved into his back. Forever reminding him of his crimes.
--------
He wasn’t in school for a week after the incident. They all were told that Adrien had an accident while fencing.
Gabriel was a little panicking now.
He hired an exorcist, (John Constantine got a hefty amount and did a few flashy magic tricks to appease Gabriel but he didn’t lift the curse Maria put on the place. She is not someone to be on the bad side of and he thinks that he can’t lift it even if he wanted to.)
Emilie gets a little sus at Gabriel when he brought this strange man with a British accent into their home after their son got attacked in his own room with security tighter than Fort Knox.
She doesn’t buy that ‘accident’ bullshit that her husband, son and even Natalie tries to sell her. She thinks it is connected to what happened while she was in a coma.
-----
Adrien has a curse too.
(Credit to @raeuberprinzessin for giving me an idea)
He couldn’t act like the ‘Perfect Adrien’ in public anymore. Acting more like Chat Noir at first then, later a spoiled brat. His friends thought that he was finally rebelling against his father and encouraged it a lot.
Adrien started criticizing other people, strangers at first then to the people working on the photoshoots to his fans to his other school mates, people in his class and his friends. (The curse planted ideas into his head about what he should say and he said them all without thinking about the effect it has on other people)
People started avoiding him not liking his attitude and his comments about how they should behave and change something about them because he doesn’t like it that way and guilt-tripping them when he doesn’t get his way. Even Nino started to distance himself after he saw how Adrien talked to a fan.
The public thought it was a phase but as he got progressively worse, people started despising him. Adrien doesn’t realize this of course so far, happy that his father let him get away with ‘ruining the Agreste image.’ (Gabriel was worried about a potential vengeful ghost and making sure his wife didn't know about his stint as a supervillain. There was also the fact that the Afterlife made more sales than him again and managed to get on the cover of Vogue when he should have, dammit.) He was finally able to say what he wanted to without repercussions. Until he realized when Nino and everyone else cancelled for a hangout for the third time that week that he was slowly losing his friends.
He panics and tries to fix the situation. He didn’t want to be alone again.
He talks to Nino about it and to his horror, he couldn’t stop himself from saying many things that were a little hurtful. (Second part. The moment he realizes he is going to be alone. He is going to find out that yes, lies can hurt people. He is going to see it happen firsthand.)
Nino moved seats and told Adrien that their friendship was on hold until he apologized.
Soon, nearly every time his mouth opened, lies and insults about his friends or their embarrassing secrets came spilling out. Everyone hated him now and Mme. Bustier tried to give him a reprimand about his behaviour, which when he tried to defend himself, he found himself unable to speak.
He managed to explain to his father what caused his unpopularity by writing what happened to him. Unfortunately due to his poor behaviour before the second part of the curse was activated, his fan base was dwindling and people didn’t like him anymore so there was a hit on the Gabriel brand.
He no longer has to do modeling, clearing his schedule. But no one would spend time with him.
The best solution he could do with his predicament was to keep quiet and endure the loneliness and the glares of his classmates at school. Adrien was relegated to the back and nearly everyone avoided him. He was now a social pariah.
Even Lila avoided him because of her own curse which made Adrien turn into one of her previous victims. (She also didn’t ponder why Marinette rarely appears compared to the others.)
If Adrien felt a tiny bit remorseful or guilty for making Marinette keep quiet or betraying Ladybug, he can gain a little control over what he says.
The curse can be broken if he apologizes to Maria herself or to her grave.
------
The first few months, while Marinette adapted to living with the Waynes, Jason stayed over at Wayne Manor because having Maria living with him at his apartment wasn’t a good idea and he had no clue how to take care of a teenage girl.
On paper she is adopted by Bruce because Jason can’t. (Some CPS reasons.)
Making Jason a little more salty towards Bruce. “I found her first. I called dibs.”
Brought Maria to meet the other Outlaws and they adopted her too. “Hey, guys. She’s my sister first.”
Jason was the one to teach her how to shoot a gun because he was ‘the most capable’ of teaching her.
The first few months were a little tense with Marinette not fully trusting them and the same with the rest of the Batfam.
Jason warmed her up a bit to him by telling a little of why he took her here.
He was also the one to book them flight to Paris with Bruce’s credit card so she can tell her friends that she wasn’t dead in person.
They bonded more after stopping some nefarious plot in Paris while they were there. Let’s say Gentleman Ghost and something involving the catacombs in Paris. (I watched some Batman: Brave and the Bold for childhood nostalgia.)
Kwamis were animal-shaped and they were interesting creatures to be around. And very very curious.
There was a stressful day for Maria when all the Kwamis decided to play hide and seek. Damian somehow got roped into helping her as the only available person in the Manor and he will deny that he enjoyed it.
Damian is the little brother she always wanted and she is more tolerable compared to his brothers. There is also the fact that she trusts him with the kwamis and deep down, he feels super-honoured. (I just love older sister!Mari)
Tim and her being insomniac/coffee buddies. There has been many many interventions to stop this.
I get that Marinette is this selfless person and loves making people happy but she has siblings now and them eating the stuff she made for herself to enjoy, should get on her nerves after a while.
She makes a box with booby-traps in which she puts in her cookies and food.
There are many different layers of traps because this is the Batfam and each of them is non-lethal and more ridiculous.
Okay, I once read a fic about Marinette making a bear-trap style box to hide the Miracle Box so this box is also like that but kept for food. (Traps and Sneaks by quicksilversquared)
Someone (I vote a hungry Dick or Jason, maybe a suspicious Bruce) made a mistake of putting their hand into the box and the first trap activated.
Screams filled the house.
Everyone came down including Marinette.
Bruce asked, “Who did this?”
“It was me.”
“Why?”
“They kept eating the cookies.”
“There are other ways to stop them from doing that you know like a ‘Do Not Touch’ sign not a death trap box.”
“They are non-lethal.”
Bruce locked it away but Tim later stole it to tweak it and store his coffee. ------ (Part 4)

Treasure Hunt
Prompt: My treasure to find. A/N: I just watched Goblet of Fire and couldn’t help myself.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Cedric Diggory x Reader Word Count: 3,003 Please don’t plagiarize my work!
You were smitten the first second you saw him.
Stood between Hermione and Ginny, your attention had almost instantly been taken by the boy when you saw his charming smile and twinkling lights. Something in your chest had tightened and you felt your cheeks warm, almost on instinct, heart fluttering as he shook hands with Mr. Weasley and his father introduced him as Cedric.
Cedric...
You felt a slight pinch in your side and glancing to your left with a light hiss, your wide eyes found Hermione’s all too knowing ones. She was grinning ear from ear at you, and both embarrassed and appalled at the thought of being caught all but ogling the boy, you turn to Ginny, only to find the almost exact same shit-eating grin on her face.
“Oh, bugger off,” you laugh, shaking your head at the two girls as you quickly move to catch up with the rest. But Hermione and Ginny are right on their tail, and they have no attention of letting this go.
“You totally like him,” Hermione whispers, thankfully so only you and Ginny can hear her. A quick glance at her from the corner of your eye, you can tell she’s laughing and even wiggling her brows a little at you, almost suggestive that makes your cheeks burn even harder then they had before.
“Totally,” Ginny nods, grinning, “though, I can’t blame you. He is...” She doesn’t finish her sentence, but it’s pretty obvious what they mean.
Anxious and determined to get away from their teasing’s, you shoot them a half-hearted glare over your shoulder, picking up the speed in your step so you’re up in the front with the Weasley twins. You were relieved to find out Hermione and Ginny had decided to let it go, for now, but of course, being farther up in the front also meant you were just directly behind Cedric.
And you’re not even really sure what’s wrong with you. You’ve never reacted to some stupid attractive boy before, but for some reason, your heart was hammering madly against your chest. All else seemed to drown to the back of your mind, gaze stuck on the back of Cedric at he laughed along with something his father had said.
He was completely oblivious to you.
Just as you were completely oblivious to the tree root you happen to trip over seconds later. A small yelp leaves your lips as you feel yourself falling forward, mentally prepping yourself for the thud and pain when you hit the ground. However, you never do, and instead, you fall into a pair of arms. You blink, dazed and confused, until you flicker your gaze up to meet Cedric’s own.
Well, he was definitely noticing you now. Maybe just not in the way you wanted.
Your cheeks warmed in embarrassment but Cedric simply just smiled down at you, helping you to your feet. The Weasley twins passed you along the way, and you heard them call out some joke about something being on your mind but you didn’t really have the heart to listen to them. Not with Cedric so close and smiling at you with those warm eyes of his and...
and honestly, what was wrong you? You’d met this boy not five minutes ago.
“Are you alright?”
“Yeah, yeah,” you breathe, pulling at your shirt to straighten it as you nervously blink up at the much taller boy. “I... I just... just didn’t see the root.”
“Probably not,” he grinned, “especially when you were too busy staring at me.”
He noticed that?
“Pretty hard not to,” Cedric snorted.
You hadn’t even known you’d said that aloud.
Placing a hand to your cheeks, you groan out in embarrassment.
Cedric lets out a laugh. “It’s fine,” he whispers, lowering his voice so you’re the only one who can hear him. He leans closer to him, still holding gently to your arm like he had to catch you, and your breath hitches when he presses his lips directly next to your ear. “I definitely didn’t mind.”
Then he pulls back with a wink, moving to catch up with his father.
You’re stunned still for a moment before Ron and Harry catch up, and the former bumps into you. “What’s up with you?”
They both stare at you, but you don’t reply. A small smile curls onto your lips, eyes stuck on that of Cedric.
-
Later, after the game has finished, Cedric asks if you’d like to hang back with him, explore the grounds a bit more. You’re almost too quick to comply, telling Hermione to let Mr. Weasley know that you’re safe and with him, before rushing off to catch up with him.
Of course, not without Hermione sending a sly wink your way and a call of ‘good luck!’
You spend the entire evening with him, learning more about him. Finding out he went to Hogwarts as well was a surprised to you, and you wonder why you’d never heard of him before; especially because from the look of it, it seemed he was quite popular at the school. You blame on always being so focused in your books and studies.
Yeah, it had to be that.
“You know, I noticed you.”
The statement surprises you. With a blink, lips parting, you glance to your right, looking up at Cedric as he keeps his gaze lower, on his feet. You’re not sure what to say.
“Always with your head in a book,” he laughs lightly, meeting your eyes with a fond look. It catches you by surprise and your cheeks warm lightly in response, stomach fluttering in response. “The only ones who could ever get you to look up were the Weasley Twins.
With a light, nervous laugh, you shrug; “that’s just because they’re too annoying to ignore.”
“Still,” Cedric laughs, “didn’t make me any less jealous.”
Jealous?
Eyes widening, you turn to Cedric, lips parting to say something but you’re interrupted by the sound of some sort of explosion. It rocks the floor beneath your feet, toppling you over slightly that you fall against Cedric who doesn’t hesitate to help steady you. Frowning, you glance around, eyes widening when you notice fire erupting from somewhere to your left.
It’s then the screaming starts and mass chaos follows. People run madly, without purpose or care for anyone else. Cedric pulls you closer against himself when someone nearly barrels into you and knocks you off your feet.
“What’s happening?” You whisper, turning to Cedric with panicked eyes.
“We’re under attack,” he mumbles, glancing around, shaking his head. “We’ve got to back to my father or Mr. Weasley. Now.”
He pulls you with him, and you don’t fight his grip, quick to keep up with his pace. You try not to focus too much on the screaming and panic the surrounds you, knowing that it’ll only scared you more; more then it already has.
Cedric keeps a tight hold of your hand the entire time, not willing to lose you in the crowd. You don’t mind, even if pinches slightly. You don’t want to lose him either.
You catch sight of red and a bout of relief floods you when you find Fred and George. They catch sight of you two, and thus, you also find Ginny and Mr. Weasley. You move to ask where Harry, Hermione and Ron are but suddenly, Fred is grabbing you and pulling you out of Cedric’s grip and between them, urging you to follow them back to the port-key.
“But, wait--” When you turn to find Cedric, he’s already turning back, sending you one last look before rushing off.
Most likely to find his father, still, you can’t help but worry.
-
When you return to Hogwarts for the next year, you don’t expect anything to come out of it.
While you enjoyed that day with Cedric, despite the way it had ended, you didn’t really expect anything to change. You expected life to go back to normal. But from the minute classes started, you found out that in fact was not the case. Cedric seemed to be everywhere you looked. Everywhere.
And it only took him a matter of days before he approached you.
“I’m surprised you even noticed me.”
He says it with a teasing voice and a bright, grinning smile as he glances down at you. It causes you to roll your eyes lightly, shaking your head as you snort, closing the book in your lap to place your attention fully on him. Cedric takes this as an invitation to sit next to you on the bench, and with a soft blush adorning your cheeks, you let your eyes wander aimlessly across the courtyard.
“It’s hard not to,” you tease lightly, smirking over at him. “You’re everywhere I look now.”
“I told you,” Cedric shrugs, “you were always too busy reading to notice me. We’ve always had classes together.” With that, he reaches forward, snatching the book from your lap to which you react with a soft gasp, shaking your head as he inspects it closely. Brows furrowing, he turns back to you; “a muggle book?”
“They’re a lot more interesting then you’d think,” you huff, snatching the book back and quickly shoving it into your book bag. “Thank you very much.”
Cedric laughs, “i’m only teasing you, you know.”
Meeting his eyes, you smile lightly. “I know,” you nod, voice soft.
Silence echoes for a moment. Cedric’s shoulder softly touches your own, and you can’t help the way your heart beats erratically against your chest. It’s a comfortable silence, not at all awkward, but you can’t help the way you instinctively react to him being so close.
It’s honestly, unfair.
“I’m going to put my name in .”
And then the silence is interrupted and your heart starts pounding for an entirely different reason.
Turning to look at Cedric, your eyes widen. “What?” You ask softly, voice a whisper.
He meets your gaze with a gentle frown. He knew you’d be concerned, it’s why he had to tell you. “I know it’s dangerous, but...” and then he trails and even though you don’t know him all that well, even though you’ve only really started talking and being friends, you understand what he means. “But i’m going to.”
True to his word, the very next week, you watch as Cedric drops his name into the Goblet of Fire. He’s surrounded by his friends, as they all celebrate with him, their laughter echoing amongst the room. You’re too busy trying to pull a old Fred off of an old George to be able to celebrate with Cedric, even though you do feel his eyes wander on your back.
But you’re sure, even if you could, you don’t know how much you’d be celebrating.
And when his name is pulled, and the chaos of Harry also being chosen has dissipated, you make it your goal to avoid Cedric best you can. Part of you knows you’re being selfish and silly. That you were acting irrationally, but you really did care about Cedric and you were scared to get closer to him knowing what kind of game he was throwing himself into. People died in these tournaments, and stupidly, you thought maybe if you distanced yourself from him, the worry would lessen.
That wasn’t the case at all. In fact, you only worried more but just from the sideline. From a distance. Cedric had tried to approach you a few times leading up to the games, but you’d promptly rushed off the other direction any time he had. You ignored him in class and stuck by your few friends, busying yourself with him.
Then, the first challenge came about. Watching Cedric all but battle a dragon and nearly die more then once made you realize, avoiding him was pointless. You wouldn’t stop worrying no matter what, and you certainly didn’t want to witness his hurt expression any time you walked away from him one more time. It was already breaking your heart.
You found him easily enough after his challenge. Fleur was up next and then Harry, but you found yourself unable to stick around and watch.
You needed to find Cedric.
He was just finishing being patched up and healed from the fight when you came into the tent, the nurse leaving just as you entered. His eyes had snapped up in surprise at the sound of a visitor, but widened even further when he saw the visitor was in fact you.
A bundle of nerves flooded your entire being. You hesitantly stepped into the tent, wringing your hands nervously before yourself, as you slowly made your way over to him. You wordlessly took a seat next to him, and for a moment, silence hung in the air.
Then, you spoke. “I’m glad you’re alright.”
Cedric nodded. “I wasn’t sure you cared all that much anymore.”
His words stung, but you couldn’t blame him for saying them either. “I’m sorry,” you whisper after a moment, finally glancing over to meet his eyes. “I’m sorry for ignoring you. I just... I just couldn’t bear the thought of these challenges taking you away from me, and I didn’t want to ruin your excitement about them either. So I just sort of...--”
“Pretended I didn’t exist?”
“Yeah,” you cringe, “i’m sorry...”
“It’s fine,” Cedric assures and you ease, shoulders falling when you notice a smile curling onto his lips. Your lips part however when he slips his hand into your own, the act intimate and gentle as he squeezes. He doesn’t tear his gaze away from you. “I don’t plan on going anywhere, Y/N. I promise.”
Smiling softly, you squeeze his hand in return; “yeah?”
He nods, without hesitation. “Yeah.”
-
Cedric had asked you to be his date to the Yule Ball. When he had, you felt as if your legs would give out from beneath you.
But now, wrapped up in arms, swaying softly to the tune of the music, you’re so glad you said yes. Even if, in the moment, there had been no doubt that you would, you’d been afraid you wouldn’t be able to force the words out. To physically say yes, you were so star-struck. Yet, you had, and you couldn’t be more happy.
When you lean back to glance up at Cedric, you’re all smiles and twinkling eyes. You realize then, that you’re one of the last two pairs still there and dancing, a lot having gone off to bed. How the time had escaped you, you’re not even sure.
You’d been so round up by Cedric.
Your eyes flutter in response as he uses one hand to brush back a strand of curled hair out of your face, leaning into his touch. The silence that echoes around you is completely comfortable, there’s no need to speak you find. Your actions and gazes are enough to tell each other how the other feels. You hold tight to Cedric, wishing this moment would never end.
When he presses his lips against your own, you’re stunned at first. It takes you about a minute to snap out of your revere and return the kiss. But when you do, it’s full of passion. You curl into him, pressing yourself firmly against him as everything in the background seems to fade to nothingness and all you can focus on is him, is him being so close, is him finally kissing you like you’ve wanted him to since you first saw him.
You pull back breathless, and Cedric settles for letting his forehead rest against your own.
“I’ve been waiting to do that for years.”
-
You wake with a startling gasp. Water spills from your lips as you choke and gasp, trying to find the air you so desperately need.
Once you do, it’s then you notice the arms holding you. You’re pressed firm against a chest, with a towel wrapped around you to keep you warm. It helps, even though your body shakes lightly in response, and instinctively, you cuddle into the warmth, confused.
Bewildered even.
You catch sight of the lake, and then you remember.
Turning to the right, a smile curls onto your lips as you find Cedric’s gaze. He’s smile at you, solely on you, despite those of his friends and more that cheer around him. A quick glance around tells you what you need to do, and your smile brightens when you realize he’d been the first one up.
He’d won the second challenge.
“It’s all thanks to you.” Cedric grins.
You’d said that aloud too, huh?
“I’m not sure I did all that much,” you shrug, shaking your head. “I was just asleep, really.”
Holding you close and firm, Cedric shakes his head. “You gave me the push I needed.” He whispers, so only that you can hear him. “You’re my treasure. You always have been.”
Your heart flutters again, pounding erratically against your chest. But you don’t shy away, not this time. No, instead, you lean forward, pressing your lips against his own, as cheers erupt madly around you all in response.
They fade with Viktor Krum emerges from the water. But you don’t mind. You’re only focused on Cedric, like you’ve always been.
-
He’d promised...
He’d said...
His fathers screams echo in the back of your mind. The chaos that ensues around is distant, as if somewhere entirely else. All you can see, all you can focus on... as usual, is Cedric. But this time, it’s his laying, lifeless, and limp body that you can’t tear your gaze away from.
He’s... He’s dead.
I’m not going anywhere.
He turns blurry as your eyes water. You curl into yourself, frozen where you’re stood, heart wrenching, body shaking, desperately trying to force yourself to move, to get to him, But you can’t. You just can’t. It feels as if you’re stuck in place, frozen solid.
He can’t... Cedric can’t be dead.
But he is. He is dead.
He’s gone...

Let me know what you thought?

Not only is it Percy Jackson's birthday today, it is also Percabeth's (12th??) Anniversary, so here are some of the best Percabeth moments in PJO and PJO alone. [The light blue is just me being me]
“You drool when you sleep.” (obviously)
“Me, go with you on the… the ‘Thrill Ride of Love’? How embarrassing is that? What if someone saw me?” (It was at this scene when I knew, these two would be my comfort couple in the future)
“I don’t know what my mom will do, I just know I’ll fight next to you.” “Why?” “Because you’re my friend, Seaweed Brain. Any more stupid questions?”
Annabeth’s shroud was so beautiful—gray silk with embroidered owls—I told her it seemed a shame not to bury her in it. She punched me and told me to shut up. (ah, young love)
PERCY CARRYING AROUND ANNABETHS PICTURE IN HIS NOTEBOOK TO REMIND HIMSELF THAT SHE WAS REAL no i’m not taking this one straight from the book, the paragraph is too long.
But whenever Annabeth talked about the time she spent with them, I kind of felt . . . I don’t know. Uncomfortable? No. That’s not the word. The word was jealous. (and it still took him four years to realize he was in love with her??)
She looked good. Really good. I probably would’ve been tongue-tied if I could’ve said anything except ‘reet, reet, reet’.
She tackled me with a hug, then pulled away just as quickly. “I’m glad you’re not a guinea pig.” “Me, too.” I hoped my face wasn’t as red as it felt. (nine year old me is SCREAMING)
“I’ll get us back to the ship,” I told her. “It’s okay. Just hang on.” Annabeth nodded to let me know she was better now, and then she murmured something I couldn’t hear because of the plugs in my ears. (THE INTIMACY)
The crowd cheered. Annabeth planted a kiss on my cheek. The roaring got a lot louder after that. (THEIR FIRST KISS DFGHJNBGVFDFGH why am I still fangirling over this, I've seen them kiss a billion times-)
“Um, who should I ask?” She punched me in the gut. “Me, Seaweed Brain.” “Oh. Oh, right.” (✨slow dance✨)
[Aphrodite] When she smiled at me, just for a moment she looked a little like Annabeth. (I repeat: AND IT STILL TOOK HIM FOUR YEARS TO REALIZE HE WAS IN LOVE WITH HER????)
“You didn’t believe I was dead?” “Never.” (I believe I was dead at this point)
“I, uh, was thinking we got interrupted at Westover Hall. And . . . I think I owe you a dance.” She smiled slowly. “All right, Seaweed Brain.” (✨slow dance✨ part two *more screaming*)
“Think positive. Tomorrow you’re off to camp! After orientation you’ve got your date—”
“It’s not a date!” I protested.”It’s just Annabeth, Mom. Jeez!”
“She’s coming all the way from camp to meet you.”
“Well, yeah.”
“You’re going to the movies.”
“Yeah."
“Just the two of you.”
“Mom!”
She held up her hands in surrender, but I could tell she was trying hard not to smile. (this whole scene deserved to be in here and you know it)
“Hey, it’s . . . it’s okay.” I patted her on the back. I was aware of everything in the room . I felt like I could read the tiniest print on any book on the shelves. Annabeth’s hair smelled like lemon soap. Behind me, somebody cleared his throat. It was one of Annabeth’s half-brothers, Malcolm. His face was bright red. I stepped away from Annabeth “We were just looking at maps,” I said stupidly. (imagine falling madly in love with Annabeth Chase and not knowing it until she kisses you, couldn't be me 😐)
Annabeth glared at me like she was going to punch me. And then she did something that surprised me even more. She kissed me. (*screaming intensifies*)
Annabeth and I pretty much skirted around each other. I was glad to be with her, but it also kind of hurt, and it hurt when I wasn’t with her, too. (I've just given up on screaming at Percy for not realizing his feelings sooner 😐🔫)
Annabeth wiped a tear from her cheek. “I’m glad you’re not dead, Seaweed Brain.” “Thanks,” I said. “Me too.” (you know what I'm not glad about? Beckendorf's death 😃👍🏽)
We locked eyes. I thought of a different time last summer, under Mount St. Helen's, when Annabeth thought I was going to die and she kissed me. She cleared her throat and looked away. “Prophecy.” “Right. Prophecy.” (ahaha pain)
Malcolm grinned at me. “We’ll wait outside while you finish inspection.” The Athena campers filed out the door while Annabeth cleaned up her bunk. I shuffled uneasily and pretended to go through some more reports. Technically, even on inspection, it was against camp rules for two campers to be . . . like, alone in a cabin. That rule had come up a lot when Silena and Beckendorf started dating. Anyway, for some strange reason I was thinking about this as I watched Annabeth straighten up. (fOr sOmE rEaSoN)
“Hold on, Seaweed Brain.” It was Annabeth’s voice, much clearer now. “You’re not getting away from me that easily.” (*sobs*)
“I’ll go with Percy,” Annabeth said. “Then we’ll join you, or we’ll go wherever we’re needed.” Somebody in the back of the group said, “No detours you two.” (stop saving the world and go make out 🙄)
Before I could lose my courage, I said, “Don’t I get a kiss for luck? It’s kind of a tradition, right?” I figured she would punch me. Instead, she drew her knife and stared at the army marching toward us. “Come back alive, Seaweed Brain. Then we’ll see.” (AND COME BACK ALIVE, HE DID)
“You’re cute when you’re worried,” she muttered. “Your eyebrows get all scrunched together.”
“You are not going to die while I owe you a favor,” I said. “Why did you take that knife?”
“You would’ve done the same for me.” (HOLY F U C K)
I wasn’t supposed to tell anyone. But this was Annabeth. If I couldn’t trust her, I couldn’t trust anyone. (goodnight.)
I glanced back. Annabeth was trying not to meet my eyes. Her face was pale. I flashed back to two years ago, when I’d thought she was going to take the pledge to Artemis and become a Hunter. I’d been on the edge of a panic attack, thinking that I’d lose her. Now, she looked pretty much the same way. I thought about the Three Fates, and the way I’d seen my life flash by. I could avoid all that. No aging, no death, no body in the grave. I could be a teenager forever, in top condition, powerful, and immortal, serving my father. I could have power and eternal life. Who could refuse that? Then I looked at Annabeth again. I thought about my friends from camp: Charles Beckendorf, Michael Yew, Silena Beauregard, so many other who were now dead. I thought about Ethan Nakamura and Luke. And I knew what I had to do. “No,” I said. “I’m honored and everything. Don’t get me wrong. It’s just . . . I’ve got a lot of life left to live. I’d hate to peak in my sophomore year.” The gods were glaring at me, but Annabeth had her hands over her mouth. Her eyes were shining. And that kind of made up for it. (THIS WHOLE SCENE RUINED MY PERCEPTION OF MEN. THEY ARE, IN FACT, NOT AS PERFECT AS PERCY)
“I am never, ever going to make things easy for you, Seaweed Brain. Get used to it.” When she kissed me, I had the feeling my brain was melting right through my body. (I'M MELTING)
We held hands right up to the moment they dumped us in the water. Afterward, I had the last laugh. I made an air bubble at the bottom of the lake. Our friends kept waiting for us to come up, but hey—when you’re the son of Poseidon, you don’t have to hurry. And it was pretty much the best underwater kiss of all time. (DFGHJHGFDFGHJNHGFDFGHJNBVCFGHJMNBVCFKIJUHYGT I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER RECOVER FROM THIS ITS TOO PERFECT GOODBYE FOREVER)

Invisible String (8/?)
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Female reader (Modern AU)
Description: James Buchanan Barnes, the owner of the most expensive-looking club in town and your new apartment. He was a dick and you hated him. What could possibly go wrong when you, the new girl in town, start bartending at his club to pursue your dreams?
Word Count: 2.4k words
Tumblr media
Your parents’ house was exactly how you remembered it, but again, it had been only two months since you last saw it. Contrary to your usual life, a lot has changed in two months. You aren't working in a cubicle anymore, you're not going on random blind dates that your sister and mother plot for you. What you are doing is bartending in a town far away from your family. You're fake dating your boss who happens to be the most dangerous person in the town, at least that's what you've heard of the rumors, but so far, James has been nothing but non-threatening to you. Yes, he was mean in the beginning, but a lot has changed since then.
And now sitting in front of your parents with James beside you, eating lunch; you recall Barry's diner and you miss the food there. It's funny because you always thought that this was your home, your family and everything associated with them should make you feel at peace, but you were feeling everything but that. You were restless and anxious, and you wanted to go to that cozy dinner with James where Sally would tell you anecdotes about her life. You wanted to sit with James and watch him debunk the myths about his career that you believed were true your whole life. Turns out, he doesn't cut off people’s dick for disrespecting him. Who would have thought? And you decided that maybe you should stop reading those stupid mafia stories.
James sensed your discomfort, you don't know how he does that, but he always knows when something is bothering you. He brought his chair closer to you in hopes of providing you some relief. And it did, his presence made you feel at ease and you weren't sure how you felt about it. You knew you were dependent on him for comfort since the incident at his club, but being with him didn't make you feel caged.
You always thought that a relationship would make you feel stuck. That's why you never engaged in one, but with James, it felt liberating. Maybe because this wasn't real and the moment this turns real, it'll be a shithole. At least that's what you told yourself.
“So, what do you do, James?” your father asked, and you nearly choked on your food. James's hand involuntarily reached towards your back, his thumb running soothing circles while his palms patted gently.
“I own a club and a few other buildings in town,” your faux boyfriend answered, and you were thankful he didn't get into his other business. You wanted to ask about all the rumors in town and why people are so scared of him and why does everyone in the club carries a gun, but you were scared to ask. You feared that you wouldn't like the answers. Honestly, that's false, you weren't scared of the answers, you were scared that what if he closes himself again the moment you step into uncharted territory. And you really liked this fun, caring, swiftie James.
Everybody was sitting silently at the table which was unusual because usually family dinners were the place where everyone pointed out your faults. Carol kept glancing at your parents every few seconds and vice versa. Your brother-in-law, Nick, was focused on the food and their kids were taking a nap.
 You were going to thank your stars for this peaceful lunch when your sister broke off the silence. “So, how did you two meet?”
Every head on the table turned towards you expectantly, waiting for you to explain how you met James. What were you supposed to say? That you met when you interviewed for your current job and he clearly rejected you?
Before the panic could make its way to the surface, James' palm landed on yours softly, grounding you. Your sister's eyes fell to your hands on the table and she scoffed.
 “We're glad you're happy, but at least don't forget basic table etiquette,” She commented. How could you forget the ‘no hands on the table while eating’ rule? Just when you were about to remove your hand from the table, James held your hand and placed it on his lap, lacing his fingers with yours.
“Auntie Y/N!” A shriek made you turn behind, and you saw your nephew and niece running towards you with the biggest grin on their faces. Both the kids jumped in your embrace without a care of their surroundings and you stifled a laugh.
Bucky didn't like kids, hated them, to be honest. In his defense, what's there to like, they're always whining and crying, but seeing you attempting to straddle two 5-year-olds on your lap while their mother complained might change his opinions on the subject.
You didn't like kids either, except your nephew and niece. They were perfect in your eyes, but maybe you were a bit partial because you sort of shared genes with them. You were so focused on the stories Alec and Izzy were telling you that you didn't notice the eyes that were fixed on you. James looked at you with not only adoration, but also devotion. He knew if he kept looking at you like that, he'd be deep in shit, but it was too late now.
After dinner, you made your way to the bedroom, only to realize that there was one bed. Fuck. You really should have thought this through.
Before the embarrassment could seep in, James started collecting a blanket and some pillows. “I'll take the floor,” He said.
You frowned. “No, James. You've already done so much for me. Take the bed, please.”
James pretended not to hear you and started preparing his bed on the floor.
“Seriously?” You queried, slightly huffing at his childish behavior. “You're gonna pretend you didn't hear me. How old are you, five?”
Without saying a word, James started humming a tune and situated himself on the makeshift bed on the floor and closed his eyes.
You stomped your foot furiously, yeah, maybe you were a little childish too. Without muttering another word, you made your way towards the bed and tucked yourself in a comfortable position.
“You were saying something?” James asked, his voice laced with tease, and you huffed at his tomfoolery.
“Yeah, just how immature you are.”
“Sorry, I didn't hear that. What was that?” you couldn't see him, but you knew he was doing some theatrical actions by putting his hands on his ears for better listening or furrowing his eyes in feigned confusion. “That I'm so smart? Oh, why, thank you. You're not so bad yourself.”
“That's real mature, James,” you murmured, clearly not enjoying his antics.
A comfortable silence fell in the room. The only thing that could be heard was your breathing and the air conditioner that always sucked in your childhood room but your parents never thought it was a primary concern. Oh, yeah, also, you were staying in your teenage room with your boss. You tried telling your parents that you could get a hotel, but they insisted so now James could see one direction posters on the wall right in front of him.
You would have assumed that he fell asleep if he hadn't broken the silence. “I know it's not my business and you don't have to answer if you don't want to,” he paused, wondering whether he is crossing a line by asking you this. “But why do you let them treat you like that?”
You coughed in surprise, you clearly did not expect him to ask this. You thought maybe he was going to ask you who is your favorite one direction member. Anything really, expect this. “Wow, you do not beat around the bush.”
You could hear him shuffling and once he settled you were sure he was facing you. Well, the bed actually. You did the same, turning towards him. You couldn't see him, but it still felt so intimate.
 “I'm honest with people I trust,” he informed and you smiled, thinking about the time when he told you he did not trust you or your intentions.
“What do I get in return?” you teased, although you would have told him without getting anything in return.
“What do you want?”
You debated for a minute whether you should go forward and just ask him so you did. “What do you do?”
You didn't expect him to actually answer. You knew that your relationship (whatever that was) with James had increased from where it was a few months ago. You deeply cared for each other and had mutual trust in the other. But you still didn't know about the actual work he did. Your realtor told you that he was a criminal, a mobster to be exact, and had sketchy connections with the mafia but you didn't know the exact nature of his work.
He signed heavily and you were ready to drop the subject, scared that it would only push him away again and you couldn't lose whatever you had this early.
“We provide weapons to the government at a cheaper price, eliminate problems or shootouts that the government is too scared to take the blame for,” he said, voice unwavering but you could sense the tension. Bucky thought that telling you about his work would make you fear him, and he didn't want to risk losing the progress he made with you, but he also knew that if he wanted you in his life in any form then he has to be honest with you. “We don't do the kind of stuff you're thinking of, it's mostly assisting the government to do stuff where they don't want to get their hands dirty.”
“Why?”
“How would you feel if the leaders of your country were involved in shady business?” It was a rhetorical answer, of course, you would feel unsafe, but your sleep-dazed brain was about to muster up an answer but he quickly spoke. “So if it backfires then they don't lose their men and women and can blame it on us, the criminals.”
“So that's why you weren't scared if I went to the cops? Because you kinda work for them?” you asked. His reaction made a lot of sense now, but some part of your brain hoped that he did that for you. That he would defy the police for you.
“Off charts yeah,” he answered, “Although that has nothing to do with why I wanted you to go to the cops. I wanted you to because what Rumlow did was unacceptable and he should pay for his actions.”
“Wow,” you didn't know what to say. Anything further could push him back to the 'I don't trust you' James and you couldn't risk that.
Bucky didn't want to elaborate further, “Your turn.”
“Sir, you just set yourself up for the biggest disappointment,” you joked, already imagining his reaction and smiling to yourself.
“I let them treat me like this because they are my family,” you replied honestly. “I don't have anyone else but them.”
Bucky knew all about the issues that come with family, but he didn't think you'd be the victim of it. Bucky realized that in his head, he had conjured up a version of you that was perfect, so if he were to know you better, it would decrease his crush on you, right?
Wrong. The more Bucky got to know you, the more he realized you weren't some angel and were just a vulnerable human like everyone, and the more he wanted you, all of you.
“Where does Rumlow come in this?” you questioned.
“His work is dirty like drugs, sex trafficking so he doesn't work well with government or any sort of authority,” he explained, “He's one of the problems they wanna eliminate but can't because he's too powerful. He works with Hydra.”
“Wasn't Hydra a myth?” you queried. You have heard stories about Hydra too, how Bucky was their rival. You assumed it was about territory or money. You know, like in the movies.
“Nah, doll, it's real. He's part of that organization and that makes him shielded from us and literally everyone.”
“So you're technically not… you know, killing people for fun like the mafia and all? You're like undercover agents,” you concluded and he shook his head, chuckling at the disappointment in your voice.
In your defense, you expected him to be the movie-type mafia boss who kills people for raising their voice but again, this is not a movie.
“If it makes you feel better, we smuggle weapons for the government. We're still criminals and dangerous,” he articulated, his tone laced with amusement at your reaction.
 “No offense, but that's a horrible career. Is that what you wanted to do growing up?” you asked, yawning, your eyelids becoming heavy from the exhaustion.
“No,” he answered truthfully. “Not everyone gets a choice, doll. My dad was murdered when I was a kid and I was shoved into the business to protect my family.”
 “Where are they? Your family, I mean,” you inquired, hoping you weren't overstepping.
“Ma basically hates me and my sister maintains her distance, but it's for her own safety.”
You didn't ask about them further, realizing his family was a touchy subject for him. You could relate to that. “What do you want to do?”
Out of all your questions and weird assumptions, this took James by surprise. No one asked him what he wanted to do. Hell, he didn't even ask him that, and now someone finally asked him, he didn't know what to answer. You understood his silence, you always understood everything James felt even without it being voiced. He generally hated when people predicted him, he prided himself on being unpredictable but not with you. James wanted nothing more than to just be Bucky with you.
“Don’t worry, you'll figure something out,” you mumbled, already drifting off to sleep.
James turned towards the opposite side. “Sleep well, doll.” he murmured, his breath growing even, matching yours.

The man froze in his tracks after entering the room and catching you laying on the couch with Bang Chan on top, practically devouring you. He looked scarred, to be frank, as he quickly snapped back to reality and bolted out the door in less than a second. As he made his grand escape, you forcefully pushed Bang Chan off of you. He swore under his breath before tripping out the door, trying to follow the man who had just caught you.
You sat up, head in your hands. This was exactly what you were scared of. What you worried so much about a few nights back. What Bang Chan reassured you of not happening.
You feel panic set in as you thought of the worst case scenario. Yup. You were going to get fired for sure. And the news will go to the public, resulting in Bang Chan also losing his job. You would then have to move back with your parents, and everybody will have the same look of shame and pity whenever they see you.
This wasn’t good. You stood up to make your own inconspicuous escape, but it seemed like Bang Chan beat you to the door.
“That was Jisung,” Bang Chan said. He entered, making sure to lean against the door just in case anybody else wanted to intrude.
The name and the face clicked in your mind. He was part of Stray Kids as well as Bang Chan’s coworker. You recognized him more commonly as Han, as his name has come up in a lot of the work you’ve been sent.
“What did he say?” you asked skeptically. Worry was setting in.
“Don’t worry, he said he wouldn’t tell anybody. I trust him.”
How were you supposed to believe that? You’ve never even spoken to this man in your life, and now you were supposed to put the future of your career in his hands?
“But I don’t, Chan. I’ve never even met this guy in real life before. How can I trust that he won’t tell one of your other group members?” You heard your voice get louder with every word.
“I had a talk with him just now, Y/n, you can trust him. Out of everybody in this company, he’s the least likely to tell just anybody — even one of our members.” He paused, “don’t you trust me, Y/n?”
You were speechless. Your trust in him was completely different from your trust in Jisung, and you were sure he knew that. Obviously you trusted Bang Chan, but you didn’t know the extent that his group members would go to for a secret. Especially one that could have an effect on their careers as well.
“You can’t just ask me that, and you know it,” you sneered. “You know what? It’s my fault. I was too careless. I’ll leave now.”
“Wait, Y/n-”
You didn’t even let him finish before stomping out the door, making sure to check your surroundings for anybody that could catch you before heading back up to your cubicle. You felt the heat of your cheeks the whole elevator ride.
You were on edge for the rest of the day. When Manager Chen asked to see you in her office, you were so startled that you quite literally jumped from your seat. You were sure somebody had informed her of what happened, but it turned out that she just wanted to rearrange the usual Friday meeting.
Because of the filming tomorrow, the project meeting had to be arranged for next week. Which you were fine with, of course, since you did not want to face all your managers in one place after what had just happened.
Throughout the rest of the day, you started to feel more and more guilty for how you reacted at lunch. As your mind cleared, you realized how rash you were with your decision making and how you only thought about yourself. You also thought about how rude it was to talk about Jisung like that, especially in front of Bang Chan — who cared a lot about the boy.
Logging off your email for the day, the thought of Bang Chan still lingered bitterly in your mind. You wished to apologize for your harsh behaviour, so you started to make your way over to his producing room.
However, you hadn’t even made it on the elevator before you were stopped.
“Hey, uhm — you might not recognize me, but I’m the guy from earlier. Han Jisung.”
He was standing politely behind you, hands folded together behind him.
“Hello, I still remember. You know, from earlier,” you awkwardly breathed out a laugh. You didn’t know what to say or why he was here.
“Hyung told me I could find you here and that I should apologize.” He took his hands out from behind him. “He also said that this might help.”
In his hand was a bottle of mango juice. Your heart warmed at the thought of Bang Chan still caring for you, despite you being such a jerk earlier.
“Anyways,” he continued, “I’m sorry for barging in like that and leaving so suddenly. I should’ve knocked or something before coming in, but Chan-hyung is somebody I’m very close to. I would never jeopardize him in any way.”
Hearing him apologize made you realize how little thinking you had done. Jisung regularly worked with Bang Chan, so of course he would just enter the room without knocking.
“Thanks for your apology, but I should be apologizing. I was the one being reckless. You did nothing wrong, Jisung. I trust that you wouldn’t tell anybody of this.”
“Thanks,” he said as the both of you entered the elevator.
The both of you stood in silence for a bit before he started again.
“So, Chan hyung huh.” He raised his eyebrows. “You know, he’s the best looking one out of all of us… after me of course.”
“Oh my god.” You blushed, head in your hands as he kept elbowing you.
“But, Y/n.” He got all serious again. His serious-playful demeanor was giving you whiplash. “You know what you’re doing is dangerous, right? Not only for him, but also for you. I love our fans, but there are some that have taken it too far before. I just want the two of you to be safe.”
“Thanks Jisung,” you started, “for that and for keeping this secret.”
“Of course, any ‘friend’ of Hyung's is a friend of mine.” He winked, causing you to heat up from embarrassment again.
The elevator reached Jisung’s floor, and he got out.
“Oh, also, I think you should call Chan hyung. He’s been pretty down this whole afternoon, and even my natural charisma couldn’t cheer him up.”
You thanked him for the last time before the elevator doors closed, promising him that you would contact Bang Chan.
And you did — as soon as you were alone in the elevator.
One ring. Two rings. A third.
“Hello?” He sounded out of breath.
“Chan?”
“Yes, Y/n?”
Crap, he sounded annoyed.
“Uhm, can we meet up somewhere? I-I wanted to talk to you.”
There was a slight pause.
“I’m at the gym right now. We could meet at the playground by the river in an hour.”
“Ok.” You hung up after that. It was a weird phone call. From his voice alone, you could obviously tell something was bugging him. You knew you were that something.
Grabbing a quick bite at a nearby convenience store, you started your journey to the playground. It wasn’t too far of a walk, but you decided to go earlier since it was already starting to get dark.
You hoped Bang Chan wasn’t in too much of a bad mood, especially after your conversation with Jisung. Honestly, you weren’t too excited to apologize. Not because you didn’t feel bad, but because of his cold and monotone voice through the phone. You didn’t want to admit it — especially because you had just met this man a few weeks ago — but you were scared of his possible rejection. It terrified you.
Breathing into your hands for warmth, you finally saw the playground up ahead. It was near the river, but covered by trees. You now understood why Bang Chan picked this place.
It was empty, as you assumed no child would want to play tag on a cold and dark evening. You sat on a swing, mindlessly swinging up and down whilst staring at the upcoming moon. The sound of crickets chirping combined with the cool autumn breeze almost brought you to serenity, but the thought of confronting Bang Chan grounded you back to earth.
You turned your head at the sound of panting. Bang Chan had jogged here. The ends of his hair were damp with sweat, stuck to his forehead. You wanted to call him crazy, as the only thing he wore was a sleeveless tank top and a pair of shorts on a cold autumn night.
He made his way to the swings.
“Hey,” he said, hopping on to the swing beside you. He was still out of breath from jogging.
“Hey,” you paused for a few seconds to think of what to say. “I wanted to apologize for earlier. I wasn’t thinking. I know you care about your job as well, and it was selfish of me to walk out on you. I’m also sorry for talking about Jisung like that. I met him this afternoon and he seemed like a good guy. And if there’s anything else I missed, I’m sorry for that too.”
You looked up at Bang Chan with puppy eyes, hoping that he would understand. He looked back at you.
“I accept your apology, Y/n. And look, I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have been so reckless, especially at the office. I knew that anybody could have walked in, and I was careless. We were lucky this time, but next time we might not be.”
“Next time?” Your eyes brightened.
“Y/n,” he got up, “I’m scared. I’m scared that I feel this way about you after only a few weeks. I’m terrified of losing my job, my coworkers, and friends. But Y/n, I just want you. I’m laying all my cards out on the table. This is how I feel, what about you?”
That was a lot to take in. Your grip tightened on the swing.
“Chan, everything you just said, I feel the same way. Everything about this scares me, but I just want you. Only you.”
You got up and wrapped your arms around him. You felt the cold sweat of his arms against your skin, but you didn’t care. You just wanted to be near him.
He wrapped his arms around you in return, digging his nose into your neck. You felt his damp hair against your skin.
“Chan, you’re all sweaty,” you teased, pushing his head away.
“I don’t care.” His words came out muffled against your neck as he dug his nose further.
“I feel like a kid being in a playground.” You scanned the empty playground, reminiscing on your childhood.
“Would a kid do this?”
Bang Chan, with his fingers on your chin, turned his head to kiss you so deep you thought you were going faint. You returned the kiss, hands gripping hard on to the sides of his tank. It seemed like the two of you were in your own little world.
“You should go. Tomorrow’s gonna be a long day,” Bang Chan said after eventually breaking the kiss.
“Mhmm,” you mumbled, trying to stall for time. You knew that the both of you should get going.
Eventually, after quite a while, you left for home. It felt as if a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. A very cute and dimple-y weight.
That evening, you packed all your necessities for the overnight shoot tomorrow, and fell asleep with high hopes for the next day. You were excited to see all your — along with the production team’s — efforts come to fruition.
The next morning, you woke up early and energized. You double checked that everything was ready before heading out to the JYPE building.
Manager Chen had informed you of which van you would be riding in to the set. Although she wasn’t in the vehicle with you, you had the opportunity to chat amongst some other very interesting members in the production crew.
After a few hours of driving, your van — along with the others — arrived. You helped the production crew set up as much as you could, as you were told the boys already started filming their drive to the set. Whilst waiting for the boys to come, you socialized around with both the production crew and Manager Chen.
Soon, after chatting for a bit, you saw the long awaited van pull up to the set. The boys got out, one by one, each holding their own little video cameras.
Bang Chan got out last. He looked amazing, really. With his hair and makeup done and his outfit styled, he was almost like a different person. You’ve never seen him without black on, but this was a surprisingly refreshing look.
It was chaos. With every boy at their peak energy, there was never a boring moment on set. It was clear that everybody — even the quieter ones — had established nice dynamics within the group. You watched them in awe, with Manager Chen telling you the behind happenings every now and then.
You found it so hard to hold in your laughter as the boys attempted to make mooncakes. It reminded you of your childhood; when you used to do the same with your mother.
As Bang Chan read off the script which you helped with, you felt a certain sense of pride in your heart. You smiled at him as he expressed himself to the camera.
It was dinner time for the boys, so that meant dinner for you and the crew as well. You followed the production team to a noodle restaurant. It was a small and cute, grandma-grandpa owned place. The menu, however, was huge.
“Y/n, this is Manager Jung,” Manager Chen said. She directed your gaze to a guy who looked in his late twenties. You instantly recognized him as the manager that drove you home on your first day of work.
“We’ve met before,” he said.
“You have?” Manager Chen was surprised.
“We have, but it’s nice to meet you under better circumstances,” you blushed. You hoped that you didn’t leave too bad of a first impression with him.
“It’s nice to meet you too, I’ve only heard good things about you from Manager Chen,” he said. “Actually, we were just discussing the sleeping arrangements for tonight.”
“Yes, we’ve managed to book a place that has enough rooms for everybody to sleep alone. They’re not the best of rooms, but this was the best we could do with our budget,” Manager Chen said.
“Sounds good to me,” you nodded. You were fully expecting to share a room with five other women.
You had a happy evening, eating and chatting before getting back to work. You watched as the boys carried out every production order to a tee, all the while keeping up their high energy even late into the night.
You helped the production crew with setting up fireworks for their next segment. Even the act of setting up got you excited as you haven’t seen fireworks in so long. Especially in a new country.
The rest of the filming went smooth, with the end slate following the last firework of the evening. You watched as the boys all lined up in a straight line to thank the production and camera crew. Bang Chan’s eyes landed right on yours. You smiled. He smiled back.
The boys were then ushered by Manager Jung into their own hostel, and you followed the crew to your room. The room was lit by a small incandescent light bulb. It was a small room with nothing but a mat for the floor, a small blanket, and a pillow. Though, to be fair, you weren’t expecting much.
You laid out the mat and blanket, washed up, and was about to call it in when you received a text from Bang Chan.
Bang Chan: You looked cute today.
You blushed, not aware that Bang Chan had even seen you during the day. He looked so busy with filming the whole time that you hadn’t even made eye contact. You smiled and returned the text.
Y/n: You too ^^
And with that, you peacefully fell asleep.
You had a tranquil dream; with only clouds, and sunshine, and… Manager Jung?
“Y/n!” he called.
Your dream clone hopped over to him to say hello.
“Y/n!” He called again. He looked worried. “Y/n!”
You suddenly jolted awake.
“Y/n! Hurry, get out!” He was coughing, holding the hem of his shirt up to his face.
You looked at him. His silhouette was clouded by smoke. You looked up.
The light bulb hanging from was burning and emitting a smoke of some kind. You gasped in shock, instantly regretting it as you breathed in a large amount of the smoke.
Manager Jung was already running outside at this point, and you quickly ran after him. Along the way you tried to hold your breath, but with every inhale you took in, a cloud of smoke followed. You coughed and kept running.
It seemed as if you were the last person out, as everybody staying at the hostel had already evacuated. Manager Chen was standing outside, a look of worry on her face.
“Y/n, are you okay?” She ran over to you.
“Yes,” you coughed. You still felt the smoke in your throat. “What happened?”
“The light bulb in your room caught on fire,” Manager Jung intervened. “Manager Chen was still awake when she smelled the smoke, and she evacuated everybody inside. Everybody woke up except you, Y/n.”
“Is everybody else okay?” you asked. You could hear how hoarse your voice sounded.
“Everybody else is alright. For some reason, the fuse shortage was only isolated to your room,” Manager Chen replied.
It was unfortunate that, out of all the rooms, the broken light bulb was in yours. However, you were glad that everybody else was safe. You were also thankful that Manager Jung woke you up in time, leaving you with only a sore throat.
“Hyung!”
You whipped your head to the direction of the voice. Bang Chan was sprinting across the dirt path in your direction. His hair was disheveled and his t-shirt wrinkled. Behind him was Jisung, dashing over so fast that he somehow managed to match Bang Chan’s pace. Jisung threw his hand, catching the back of Bang Chan’s shirt, pulling him back. Jisung then said some incoherent words to Bang Chan, which seemed to have slowed him down. Bang Chan took a couple deep breaths before waiting for his other members and walking over to you and the crew.
“What happened? Is everybody okay?” Bang Chan asked, concerned. He glanced at you before facing Manager Jung again.
“Everybody is fine,” Manager Jung reassured him. “There was a problem with the light bulb in a crew member’s room, but everybody has evacuated now. You and the boys don’t need to worry. Just go back to your rooms as you have a long day tomorrow.”
“Whose room was it?” Bang Chan asked, ignoring everything Manager Jung had just told him.
Manager Jung hesitated before pointing at you. Upon realization, Bang Chan jerked forward, only to be stopped by Jisung again. He gave Bang Chan a look.
“I’m okay,” you coughed out. It was hard to not sound so hoarse when you had just been breathing in smoke for god knows how long.
Bang Chan gave a deadpan look to Manager Jung.
“We have extra rooms where we’re staying, maybe Y/n can stay with us?” he asked.
“That is unnecessary, I will let Y/n use my room and I will stay with you. I’m sure Y/n would be on board,” Manager Jung said. He looked over to you, and you nodded in agreement.
“I guess that would work,” Bang Chan hesitantly said, “but what if this happens again with another room?”
“I’m sure that won’t-”
“Manager Jung!” Manager Chen interrupted, waving her hands whilst running over. “A member of our production crew took a look at the fuse box connected to Y/n’s room, and it seems like somebody tampered with the wires on purpose.”

When He Loved Me (Peter Parker x Reader)
A/N: My first fic and it's angst that came into my head around 3am. I've always wanted to write fics, but I didn't like how I wrote and I was embarrassed. First time writing for others so I tried to keep away from using just she/her pronouns, but if that's what you'd like just lemme know
I can write for other fandoms, and imma make a list of the fandoms I like bc I have so many I forget. I'll also add some other things if it interests me. Not comfortable with nsfw just yet so apologies. Anyways, enjoy the fic ig and please give me criticism if you see something wrong
idk how tumblr works with spacing and all that so hopefully this comes decent looking
Prompt: Please, don't leave me.
TW: S**cide mention
Every day had started to feel the same to you for a while now.
It started when he began missing date nights with you. He was always so excited about them, and then they were happening less and less often. You still saw him on occasion, but it felt more like "business" than anything else.
You didn't get the same giddy feeling you used to get when you'd see him; it felt like going out with him was more of a chore. You couldn't even complain to him about it even if you wanted to. Anytime you did see him long enough, he was always gone within a second, always in a rush. You never knew what he even did with himself or if he was thinking about you at all.
It definitely didn't help that you'd always catch him hanging out with his friends. You confronted Ned about it, but he was always so dismissive. Hell, you had even talked to Michelle about the whole thing. At first, she sympathized, but then it was as if a switch was flipped. You used to go to her to vent about Peter and the relationship. Now, she was practically telling you that you were overreacting.
----
You felt like you were going to have a mental breakdown.
Learning about a loved one's passing is always one of the hardest things for anyone to deal with, especially when it's someone you deeply care about.
You had just received the news that your best friend had killed himself a couple of hours ago.
You didn't know how to feel.
You couldn't wrap your head around it. There was no warning.
You and he had been friends since childhood, and you knew each other so well that neither one of you could even remember a time when the other wasn't around.
Your hands shook as you picked up the phone to call Peter. Your tears finally fell as you listened to the constant ringing of the phone, and you knew he wasn't going to answer. Rage grew within you as you heard his voicemail message causing you to throw your phone across the room. It crashed into the wall and broke, but you didn't pay any mind to it as you fell to the ground and let out a wailed sob.
Why did this have to happen?
You could barely catch your breath between sobs.
Your body shook.
You didn't care about anything anymore.
You didn't care about Peter anymore.
----
Weeks had passed, and Peter was exhausted.
Tracking down a gang, taking them down, and meeting another Spider-Man had just been a lot for him to take in. He was so tired, he didn't even want to think about it anymore. His back ached as he climbed through his window.
He was just so damned tired.
He stripped out of his suit, took off his web-shooters, and placed them back in his closet. Then, he took a quick shower.
His job was a bit easier to have Ned and MJ know he was Spider-Man. Now he just had to tell you.
Peter stood in the middle of the room and weighed out what would happen. He felt sorry for lying to you, and he knew that he was being distant. He just didn't have the courage to deal with any of it because he was worried about you. He couldn't lose you too.
As Peter lied down to finally get some rest, he wondered how you were doing. Karen had said you tried calling him, but he couldn't answer he had been in the middle of a stakeout.
He got up and rummaged through his book bag to get his phone, turning it on to scroll through his messages. He sat up as he realized how many he had gotten. Had something happened?
As he scrolled through, his heart broke. So many people had posted about the loss of Jay and were gossiping about why he did it. When he finally went through them all, he looked at your one missed call and gulped.
You had called him that day, and he didn't pick up.
He clicked the voice mail and listened to the message. All that he could hear were your pained sniffles, a shout, and then the line cut off.
He felt sick as he replayed the message.
Peter already felt awful about lying to you; he had to fix this. He quickly texted you, put his web-shooters back on, and was ut the window.
He knew the way to your house, so it took him no time to et there. As he was getting ready to knock on your window, he did a double-take and took a closer look.
Someone was sitting in your room; it looked like he had been waiting for you. Peter quirked an eyebrow as he looked at the guy. He was wearing a red and green jacket with shorts and sneakers. He also looked like he was wearing tights?
Suddenly, you walked into the room, so Peter backed away from the window to hide in the shadows. You seemed to be upset as you were wiping your eyes quite a bit.
"I'm sorry Miles. I didn't think I'd start crying like that," you said as you sat on your bed.
"Hey, it's okay," he replied as he stood up and moved closer to you. You sniffled as you tried to regain your composure. Peter didn't quite know how to react. Who was this? What was going on?
"I just...he..." you groan out in frustration as you grip your hair. Miles' eyes widen as he sees tears start flowing from your eyes again.
"You wanna talk about it?" he asks as he wraps an arm around your shoulders. You shrug as you shake your head.
"It's complicated, and besides, that's what our therapy's for" you chuckle dryly. Miles' eyes wander the room as he tries to think of something to do to cheer you up. "How 'bout we go out tonight?" he suggests.
"I don't like the tone of that voice" you sass as you turn to give him a look. Peter watches Miles turn around, and his eyes widen. Miles was wearing a suit, a Spider-Man suit. The same Spider-Man he saw the other week.
"Any place you wanna go to, we'll go" he adds with a cheeky smile. "Really? You're not busy?" You cross your arms as you stare him down.
"Nah, night's been quiet. Besides, I might be busy tomorrow, then you'd miss your favorite person in the world" he winks as you begin to smile. Peter's heart sank as he realized what was happening. He thwipped a web to the building across from yours and sat down on the edge of the roof. Pulling out his phone, he sent you a text.
Can we talk tomorrow?
Giggling could be heard from across the street. Peter looked up and bit his lip as you glanced at your phone and threw it on your bed. You got onto Miles' back, and you both swung away.
----
After you tried calling Peter that day, you stopped reaching out to him altogether. You decided that you'd wait to talk to him until he finally realized you weren't there. It had been about five weeks, and in those five weeks, you had gone to therapy and counseling.
You met Miles in counseling. He was sweet but seemed to get off topic a lot. When you were getting ready to leave one session, he had come up to you, put his hand on your shoulder, and let out a simple "Hey." One thing led to another, and you had both bonded over your losses. You went to Miles' uncle's funeral, and he went to Jay's funeral with you.
You were currently sitting on a swing at the playground as you waited for Peter. It was taking him forever to show, and at this point, you wanted to get this whole conversation over with.
Frowning, you looked around, wondering why he was taking so long. He should've been here by now. Maybe he decided not to come after all.
When that thought crossed your mind, you scoffed and stood up. Before you could go anywhere, however, you felt someone gently grab your hand. Looking back, you saw Peter staring at you with a small smile on his face.
"You came."
"Of course I did"
Peter pulls you towards him and wraps his arms around you. You take a deep breath as you stare off towards the slide. He pulls away when he realizes you're not hugging him back. The both of you pull away awkwardly as you look at each other.
"Peter-" "(Y/N)-" both of you speak at the same time.
"I- I have o tell you something" he starts with a stutter. You wait patiently as you motion for him to continue. "I know th-that I've been....not here for you for a while-" he cuts himself off when he hears you scoff.
"I.....I had these things, and I should've told you as soon as we started dating, and I'm sorry. I know I've been an asshole, more than that actually" you roll your eyes and shake your head as he continues.
"I just.....I love you, and I want you to know that even though I don't show it a lot" he finishes as he rubs the back of his head nervously.
The good thing about coming to this park was that there was usually no one here, and you were glad no one was here right now because boy were you fuming. "Told me about what Parker?" Your hand goes to your hip as you glare at him.
"W-Well....uhm......that guy that you talk to.......I'm like him I guess. Spider-Man." Your eyes widen when you hear the first part. "How the hell do you know I've been talking to someone?"
Peter stumbles with his words as he realizes he's been caught red-handed, "Uh...I was gonna visit yesterday, and I kinda....saw you..talking to him....." You narrow your eyes as you pick up a stick and throw it at him. He ducked before he could get hit, but you were already in his face.
"You were spying on me?!"
"I-I wasn't trying to! I was just-"
"Christ Peter!" All this time of you not being here, and now all of a sudden you just wanna show up out of nowhere because of what?! Jay?! Is that why you're finally talking to me?!" Panic stirs in Peter's eyes as he tries to come up with an excuse.
"I tried so hard to get you to talk to me, and you only wanna talk now because of that shit?! Peter, I can't do this shit with you anymore. I don't care if you're Spider-Man; what was the point of not telling me in the first place?! We live in New York for God's sake!!"
Your face is red as you frustratingly wipe away your tears with your forearm. Peter stays silent as he watches you; he can't say anything right now because you've hit the nail on the head.
"Y-You know what, fuck this. I can't do this shit any-anymore, Peter. But please tel-tell me; w-what did I do wrong? I di-did my best to keep both of us h-h-happy. Please, just tell me what I did wr-wrong." Your words are barely recognizable as you hold yourself to keep you're shaking body still.
Peter steps forward, but instead of stopping him like he thought you would, he cups your face gently as he looks into your eyes.
"(Y/N).....I'm so sorry I made you think this was all your fault. You did make me happy; you still do. I just...I've been so busy being Spider-man that I've neglected you, and I'm sorry for that. But I do still love you, (Y/N). I swear I'll stop doing everything just for you. I-I'll give up being Spider-Man."
You watch him unravel as he keeps talking. You can't bring yourself to care, however, as he spills his heart out. Too much disappointment has built up over the months.
"Pete...."
"Please......(Y/N), just give me another chance. I'll do anything, just please, don't leave me." His voice is soft and insecure as he begs you, almost quivering as he says it. It doesn't invoke any sort of feeling in you though. His sad eyes watch as you pull away from him,
"I'm sorry Peter" you whisper softly as you turn around and walk away.
He doesn't run after you or even shout.
Peter simply watches you walk away until you're out of view. The only thing he can hear is your footsteps as they fade into the distance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: Alright so...this whole thing was based on how I could see him being Spider-Man in the beginning ig? Imo I feel like between him and Miles, the latter would be the first to tell you he's Spider-Man
And I always felt like him being away like that with no real reason would make an s/o feel like it's their fault or sumn. Like, I've always seen fics where he and the reader always make up about it, but I wanted to try the bad ending where even though he had good intentions, he's just not ready to handle being a hero, student, and partner.
All it takes is a little faith and trust [Marc/Reverser x Adrien's sister! Reader]
Fandom: Miraculous Ladybug
Warnings: None
AN: It's a mix of texting and written out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You growled at your phone before you began your search for a certain red-hoodie wearing male. You checked around corners, along walls, and under benches, until you found him under the stairs. You should’ve known.
“Hello, Marc.” You grinned and sat down next to him, “how are you?”
“Oh, hello (y/n).” Marc nodded in a greeting, “I’m doing good.”
“How’s your big project coming along?” you asked eagerly. He’s been working an epistolary story about Ladybug’s life and you were excited to see it come along. “How much more do you have?”
“I actually don’t have it.” He responded.
Your eyes widened in panic, “you lost it?” you knew how much that book meant to him, and empathy dictated that you too would feel his panic.
“No no no.” He shook his head and tried to diffuse the situation, “I’m lending it to someone.”
“What? Who?” you leaned forward excitedly.
“Well, technically Nathaniel, but he doesn’t know, but Marinette does. It was her idea.” He rambled.
You blinked. “Woah, wait, what?”
Marc took a deep breath, “Marinette found my book since I dropped it the other day and she found it.” He started to explain while gesticulating.
“So you did lose it!” you gasped, “oh, sorry.” You apologized for interrupting his sentence.
“She said it was really good, and suggested that I work with Nathaniel, but of course I didn’t want to do that. Because that’s embarrassing and what if he doesn’t like it? Then he’ll know it’s me and then I’d have to change schools and never show my face here again!” Marc started to panic and you gently started to rub his knees as the two of you were squatting underneath the stairs.
“It’s alright Marc. Just breathe okay? In, out.” You told him soothingly.
He took a deep breath and continued with his story, “so Marinette had the idea to erase my name from the book so he wouldn’t know. She gave it to him, and now he has it.”
You nodded, “when are you getting it back?”
“We’re supposed to meet pretty soon.” Marc answered.
You smiled, “so how are you feeling about it?”
“I’m super nervous.” Marc confessed and started messing with his hood, “what if he didn’t like it? What if he thinks it’s horrible and when I go show my face to him he’s going to laugh at me? What if I still have to change schools and-”
“Marc.” You interrupted his ramblings, “everything will be okay. If you want, I’ll come with you.” You gave him an impish grin, “and if he insults you, I’ll fight him.”
“No, you don’t have to do that.” Marc shook his head, “I don’t think you’ve ever fought anyone anyways.” He mumbled under his breath.
“Hey!” you laughed good-naturedly and Marc joined in. “I think I could take him on. Ka-chaw! Pow!” you mimed punching someone in front of you and added cheesy sound effects to make yourself sound cooler. Marc laughed and you smiled, “should we head over there now? So he doesn’t have to wait?”
Marc took a deep breath, “okay.”
“I’m sure he’s gonna love it!” you encouraged him as the two of you strolled from school to the park, “it’s really wonderfully written! The writing is gorgeous, and the characterization of the voice is spot on!”
Marc’s face was totally flushed as you continued to list off complements, “thanks (y/n).” He murmured.
“Any time!” you cheerfully responded, “but, I’m telling you the truth.” You turned to him seriously, “I meant everything I said.”
“O-of course!” Marc nodded, “I know you’d never lie to me.”
You gave a serious nod before breaking into a smile. The two of you continued the walk to the park in mutual silence. Marc was always a quiet person, and you were just happy to be in his presence. When the two of you arrived, you asked Marc, “do you know where you’re meeting?”
“Marinette said the fountain.” Marc answered.
You nodded, “cool, cool. So...you sit there,” you pointed to a side of the fountain, “and I’ll…” you quickly glanced over the entire area, “be behind that tree.”
“What? Why?” Marc asked in panic.
“Wouldn’t want Nathaniel thinking it was me who wrote the masterpiece!” you answered with a grin.
“But you’re my moral support!” Marc protested.
You pointed to the tree again, “I’ll be supporting you from behind the tree. I know you’ll be great!” you gave him a reassuring smile before jogging over to the tree and hiding behind it. Marc looked around uncertainly before sitting down carefully on the side of the mountain and pulling his hood up. You frowned, he was still super anxious about this meeting. In the distance, you saw a figure walk your way, and you figured it was Nathaniel.
Tumblr media
Nathaniel entered the garden and you watched eagerly as he approached Marc. You strained to hear what they were saying, but to no avail. You were left with just watching them. It looked like things were going good-no wait, nevermind. Things were rapidly going downhill. Nathaniel started to rip out the pages of the book and you sprinted out from behind the tree. “Nathaniel! Stop! What are you doing?” you shouted.
He didn’t seem to hear you as he turned around to glare at something in the sky. You momentarily stopped running and followed his gaze to see Marinette’s watching everything happen from her roof. “Oh no.” You muttered. Nathaniel stomped away and Marc kneeled forlornly on the ground next to his torn book. “Marc, hey it’s okay! It’s okay!” you rushed over to kneel next to him. He started to cry and your heart hurt. “I’m sure it was just a misunderstanding. Here.” You took one of the ripped out pages, “we’ll tape it back together.”
“He said that we’d never make a comic book together.” Marc whimpered.
“Maybe Alix then, she’s an artist.” You suggested, “don’t worry, we’ll fix this.”
The two of you started to pick up the sheets and return them into his book, neither of you realized the little butterfly enter the page Marc was holding. You did however, notice Marc suddenly freeze. “Marc?” you asked in concern, “what’s wrong?” he didn’t answer, “Marc? Hello?” you waved a hand in front of him.
“Nothing will be the same anymore, Hawkmoth!” Marc suddenly moved and you scrambled back. He didn’t notice you as he threw out his notebook and it transformed into a glider. He jumped onto it before he turned into a villain wearing only black and white.
There was the running of feet as Marinette approached, “Marc? What happened to you?”
You scrambled to your feet and grabbed her, “he’s been akumatized. We need to get out of here Marinette!”
“I’m not Marc anymore.” Marc growled before doing a loop on his glider, “I am Reverser!”
You almost froze at the sound of his voice, it was very different from the Marc you had always known, but at the same time, it was pretty...hot? Yeah, that’s the word. You shook your head to remind yourself of the situation that you were in and yelled, “Marinette!” you tugged on her arm to try and get her to run with you.
“And you Marinette! The one who caused all this!” Reverser pointed an accusing finger at her, “you think you’re the super helpful girl who’s loved by everyone?” Marinette took a fearful step back, “well from now on, everyone will hate you!” A paper plane bubbled into creation in his hand and he threw it at her, “reversion!”
You yanked on her arm and the two of you got out of the path of the paper plane. The two of you watched the plane soar towards the man feeding pigeons. It hit him, and the pigeons flew away from him, only to be chased after him.
“But I don’t get it,” Marinette argued, “I really was trying to help you!”
“Liar!” Reverser roared, “you told Nathaniel I was someone else!” another plane formed in his hands, but he was interrupted by the police blowing his whistle.
“Hey!”
“Come on Marinette,” you whispered to her and yanked at her arm, “let’s go!” the two of you quietly ran away from him out of the park and behind a building.
“Marinette!” Reverser roared and flew off into the sky.
“What did you do?” you demanded the blue haired girl.
“I don’t know!” she responded, “but we need to get you to safety.”
“What about you?” you questioned.
“Um, yeah.” She nodded, “uh, let’s hide out in my parent’s bakery.”
The two of you darted from the building you were currently hiding behind to her parent’s bakery. “You stay here, I need to get something from my room.” Marinette told her before running into the back.
Tumblr media
You sat at one of the tables in the bakery and stared lifelessly out of the window with your head resting on your palm while your other hand mindlessly tapped the table. You groaned and then laid your head onto the table. “That’s it.” You told the table and stood up, “I’m not just going to wait around, Marc is my friend and I’m going to get him back.” You declared confidently, “or, at least try to.” You muttered nervously. You ran out of the bakery and looked around, it seemed rather quiet, maybe he was back to normal?
You decided to try and get the attention of Reverser yourself, and that meant going to the tallest place you could get to...the roof of the apartment complex you lived in. You ran back to your home and sprinted up the stairs to get to the roof. When you arrived at the top, you leaned against the wall to try and catch your breath.
You straightened up and began to call out, “Marc! Ma-arc!”
“I told you, my name is Reverser.” A voice growled from behind you. You felt your knees begin to shake as you turned around to look at Marc.
“Hi.” You said shakily.
“What do you want?” he asked in annoyance.
That got you to snap out of it, and you were able to ignore for a little bit how much he made you shake, “snap out of it Marc! This isn’t like you!”
“Oh?” he asked in amusement, “you like this, don’t you?” you looked away from him and blushed furiously, “you don’t think this is bad, do you?” you could practically hear the smirk in his voice.
“Of course it’s bad!” you tried to argue, but had to focus on not melting into a puddle.
“Come on (y/n), admit it,” Reverser cooed, “you can’t make your mind on what side of me you like better.”
You frantically shook your head, “no, stop!”
Reverser took a step back, “fine, have it your way. I’ve got to find Nathaniel anyways.” He jumped onto his glider and flew away. You, on the other hand, slumped against the wall as your knees were shaking so badly.
“Well that failed.”
Once you were able to compose yourself, you quickly checked the news to see where he was now. Yes, he made you turn into goo every time you heard his voice, but you were going to try and get him to snap out of it. He wasn’t the Marc you knew. A quick look at the news told you that he was at the Eiffel Tower, so that’s where you were headed to.
Luckily, it didn’t take you too long to get down there, and when you arrived just in time to see Nathaniel and Chat Noir go up the elevator. “Hey Alix!” you waved and ran up to her, “what’s going on?”
“Reverser’s got the mayor up there and he’s gonna dump all of the trash in space on Paris.” She explained almost nonchalantly.
You gasped, “what?”
“Don’t worry,” Alix gave you a confident smile, “we’ve got this all under control.”
You watched dubiously as Reverser glared down at your group while watching the elevator. A paper plane formed in his hands, but he froze when the elevator arrived.
“Go Chat Noir!” you heard Nathaniel yell and there was the pattering of feet before Chat Noir fell off of the edge of the Eiffel Tower while strapped onto a kite.
“That’s your plan?” you demanded incredulously as the yoyo fell to the ground. It fell on Ladybug’s head but Alix grabbed it and started to maneuver the Chat Noir kite around. From the ground, you could hear his terrified screams as he flew around, “is he alright?” you asked in concern, but Alix and Ladybug paid no attention. You watched awestruck as the contraption seemed to work. Alix was able to dodge all of Reverser’s paper planes.
“Now Chat Noir!” Ladybug yelled into a traffic cone and you winced as her voice echoed.
“Cataclysm!” came a frightened yell and Chat Noir reached out to destroy Reverser’s glider. The glider dissolved into dust and Alix tugged down the makeshift kite.
“Miraculous Ladybug!” she and Ladybug shouted as they threw up the invention to fix everything.
“Marc!” you shouted as you saw him return back to his normal self and fall to the ground. Luckily, Ladybug’s magic fixed Chat Noir in time to save both him and Marc. Chat Noir turned his staff to face the ground, and the two of them returned to the ground safely.
“Marc! Oh my gosh you’re okay!” you yelled and ran up to him before entrapping him in a bear hug.
“Uh (y-y/n),” he stuttered.
“Oh!” you sprung back and felt your face heat up, “s-sorry.”
“N-no, that’s alright.” He blushed back.
“You know, I really like you.” You told your toes.
“Really?” you glanced a look at his face and saw his eyes widen in surprise.
“Y-yeah, I,” you slowly answered, “just thought I should tell you.” There was silence from Marc and you could feel the shame rise up into your face, “sorry.”
“What?” Marc asked in bewilderment, “why are you sorry? I like you too! I mean, I really like you!” Marc stammered.
Your face broke into a grin, “that’s good.”
“Y’know, when you were Reverser, I thought your voice was super hot.” You mused as the two of you sat on the floor under the stairs next to each other. You were playing on your phone and Marc was writing in his notebook.
“M-my voice?” Marc froze from his work and looked at you questioningly.
“Yeah.” You nodded. You figured that you should just be open with him, even though he didn’t remember anything that happened while he was akumatized.
“What was so different about my voice?” Marc looked at you in curiosity.
“Umm,” you tapped your lip as you thought about how to describe his voice, “sort of low and gravelly?” you laughed, that didn’t help very much. Not that you believed he’d be able to pull it off again, it just kind of seems like something that would require an akuma.
“Like this?” Marc’s voice sounded exactly like Reverser’s and your heart stopped.
“Yep.” You replied meekly and you could feel your body involuntarily shaking.
“And...you still find it, uh, that?” he gestured as he referenced your words from before.
“Yep,” you nodded shakily.
“Good to know.” Marc’s voice returned to normal and he went back to his writing.
“That’s it?” you asked flabbergasted.
Marc nodded and turned back to his work. You let out an annoyed groan but went back to playing the video game on your phone.
“Hey (y/n),” you jumped as Reverser’s voice came from behind you.
“What’s up Marc?” you asked shakily and held onto the desk next to you.
“Can you help me proofread the next chapter?” he asked you sweetly in his normal voice as he held out his notebook.
You took a deep breath to compose yourself, “sure!”
Marc smiled and handed you his notebook so you could read it. You laughed to yourself, you never thought Marc would use his voice to antagonize you and drive you crazy, but here he was, almost every time he needed your attention he used his voice. It did work, he got your attention every time, but it drove you crazy.
The Language of Flowers - Donna Beneviento x Female Reader
Request Made By @p-jtarts
P.S.: THANKS FOR BEING MY FIRST ONE-SHOT ASK!
Summary: Donna would watch the Gardener every day since the first time she came to House Beneviento for work. Donna would sit on the porch and watch her, her affection for her growing by the day but could never make a move because she was so shy. What happens when something happens that makes Donna speak to her?
- Quick Key -
[Y/N] - YOUR FIRST NAME
[L/N] - YOUR LAST/SURNAME/FAMILY NAME
[H/C] - HAIR COLOR
[H/L] - HAIR LENGTH
[E/C] - EYE COLOR
[S/C] - SKIN COLOR
Donna would watch her from her pouch every morning when she went to water the flowers and every afternoon when she would sit in the garden to talk to the flowers - Donna would watch her every hour of every day if she could but she still had a family back home and would leave House Beneviento at the end of the day to return to them.
Just who was she? She was [Y/N] [L/N] - Eldest of the [L/N] Family and the new gardener of House Beneviento; she was a fair maiden with [H/L] [H/C], [E/C] eyes, and [S/C] skin. Donna remembered the day she first met her: Donna was in town when she noticed a woman with a vase of beautiful flowers and had Angie asked where the woman received them - out of fear, the woman told her about the [L/N] Family Flower Shop before running for her life. Donna watched the woman for a while before she headed in the direction she was told and that's when she saw her.
The most lovely of maidens aiding another customer with a smile on her face that seemed the shine like the full moon on a cloudless night. Donna was stunned by her that she didn't notice she walked closer to her until she heard a voice smoother than silk and sweeter than honey.
"Ma'am? Is there something I can do for you?" The maiden asked.
Donna was silent - was it from embarrassment or was she still stunned by the maiden.
"Hello." The doll called from the veiled woman's shoulder. "My name is Angie and this is Donna; she doesn't speak much." the doll explained.
"Oh, well it's pleased to meet you, Ms. Angie and Ms. Donna. Welcome to the [L/N] Flower Shop. What can I do for you?" The maiden asked with a smile.
"We need some flowers for our garden - what do you recommend?" Angie asked.
"Where do you live, if you don't mind me asking?" The maiden asked.
"We hail from House Beneviento in the Valley of Mist." Angie said.
"I don't know much of House Beneviento but I do know about the Valley of Mist - A Place shrouded in mystery and uncertainty." The maiden said.
"We saw a woman carrying a vase of roses - do you have any of those?" Angie asked.
"It's funny you say that - I was going to recommend Blue and White Roses for your garden." The maiden smiled.
"Why Blue and White instead of red?" Angie asked.
"Each flower has a different meaning just as a color has a different meaning: Blue Roses are a symbol for Mystery but they are also used to represent attaining the impossible & love at first sight." The maiden smiled.
"And the white roses?" Angie asked.
"In this case - The white rose would stand for Silence as the Valley of Mist is known as a deadly quiet place but they can also mean innocence, wistfulness, virtue, purity, secrecy, reverence, and humility." The maiden finished. The doll was silenced for a moment before she spoke again.
"You know a lot about flowers, don't you?" Angie asked.
"I do indeed, Ms. Angie. I've been known to speak the Language of Flowers." The maiden nodded with a smile.
"The Language of Flowers?" Angie asked.
"That's just a joke my father would tell me - he said I would spend more time talking to the flowers than to actual people but...I feel like the flowers understand me better than other people do." The maiden explained.
"May I ask a question?" Angie asked.
'What is Angie doing?' Donna wondered in her mind.
"I'll answer as best I can." The maiden smiled.
"Would you like to work at House Beneviento as the Gardener? We would pay you 2000 Lei every week." That offer made the Maiden's eyes widen (And Donna's too but you couldn't see them from the veil). 2000 Lei a week? that would be perfect - with her sales, as popular as the shop was - she was only getting around 800 a week. This money could really help her family.
"I would love this opportunity, Ms. Angie! Thank you!" The maiden bowed.
"Don't thank me - it was Donna's Idea; I just did the talking. By the way, what name do you go by?" Angie asked.
"Oh, My name is [Y/N]."
"Y/N..." Angie and [Y/N] looked at Donna; that was the first thing she said. "A very beautiful name."
"So is yours, Lady Donna Beneviento."
That was what lead them here - Donna was standing with Angie on her pouch as the two of them watch [Y/N] talking to the flowers in the garden as she pulled the tiny weeds that attempted the grow.
"You should talk to her, you know you want to." Angie whispered to Donna.
"I know I want to...I just can't." Donna whispered back.
"What's stopping you?" Angie asked, "She's been working here for a full month and you never talk to her; she was actually wondering if you disliked her, considering the way you just stand and stare at her without saying anything." Angie said.
"It's just...it's hard to find the words to say to her - her eyes are like endless pools of priceless gems when I look into them and I lose all the words I had in my head; I just want the chance to have something to talk to her about." Donna said.
"Well, you're gonna get your chance sooner than you think." Angie said.
"What makes you say that?" Donna asked.
"Because it's about to start raining." Angie said with a smirk - if she could smirk.
Sure enough - a sudden heavy rain came from nowhere and drenched [Y/N] who shrieked at the sudden downpour and used her arms to cover her head out of instinct. Donna's body moved too, she ran into the rain and grabbed the gardener by her wrist before pulling her to her feet and running back to the safety of the pouch.
"Whoa, that was sudden. Thank you, Lady Beneviento." [Y/N] said as she bowed to the second lord.
"It's alright." Donna spoke softly, "Are you alright?" she asked.
"Yes, My Lady. I shall be a-a-ACHOO!" [Y/N] covered her nose just in time to keep the sneeze from hitting Donna or Angie.
"My, that sounds that a bad sneeze." Angie giggled.
"I underestimated just how dedicated the Earth is to watering its plants." [Y/N] chuckled to herself before placing her face in her elbow when she felt another sneeze coming on.
"You'll catch a cold in those wet garments. Come, I shall get you warm." Donna said as she held out her hand for [Y/N] to take - the young girl looked up at the lord with a blush creeping across her face before taking Donna's hand and allowing her to lead her into House Beneviento.
[A Few Moments Later]
[Y/N walked down the stairs in the white nightgown Donna allowed her to use while her clothes we soaked to the bone; judging from the sound of the massive downpour hitting the room and perimeter around the house - it was not going to ease up. She looked around to Donna but soon came face to face with the portrait that hung on the wall aligned with the stairs; it was of Donna and Angie but Donna didn't down her veil. [Y/N] kept her eyes upon the portrait, completely taken by the lady's beauty/
"You look comfy!" Angie suddenly appeared in [Y/N]'s face, making her jolt back.
"In the name of Mother Miranda, Ms. Angie; you nearly scared me to death." [Y/N] said as she eyed the doll.
"Sorry about that, I couldn't help myself; you seemed distracted so I took it upon myself to bring you back down the Earth." Angie giggled.
"Well, thank you; I wouldn't have wanted to get lost in the stars." [Y/N] smiled at Angie.
The sound of a door opening caused the two of them to look - Donna came out with a tray containing a pot of tea and two cups on saucers with a flask of creme and a bowl of sugar cups. [Y/N] headed over to Donna and took the tray from her - before placing it on the table where Donna was heading to. The Head and the Gardener sat in silence for a while before making themselves some tea.
"Um..." [Y/N] wasn't sure where to start. "You have a very beautiful home, Lady Beneviento." She said with a blush.
"Thank you." That was all Donna said before sipping her tea again. [Y/N] looked at her for a while before she placed her cup back on the saucer before she swallowed her fear and spoke.
"Lady Beneviento...do you dislike me?" that question made Donna freeze.
"What? No, I don't dislike you. Why would you think such a thing?" Donna's voice was laced in panic.
"It's just...you never talk to be apart from today - you're always distant and I thought..." Donna cut her off.
"It's not that!" Donna said in a rushed voice before she calmed down. "It's not that I don't like you - I do, it's just that I like you more than I should but...I never knew how to approach you. I never knew how to talk to you." Donna said as she looked down at her hands but she gasped when she saw a pair of smaller ones reach across the table and gently took one of hers in a soft embrace.
"I understand, Lady Beneviento; I...feel the same. I was so curious about you and something about you draws me to you. I understand if you wouldn't wish to rush; maybe we could talk? Get to know each other better?" [Y/N] asked with a tilt of her head and a smile.
"I...I would like that." Donna said.
"I'll start - My name is [Y/N] [L/N] and I co-own a flower shop." [Y/N] said with a smile.
"My name is Donna Beneviento and I'm one of the Four Lords of the Romanian Village."
