embarrassed myself in front of a very cute girl today. she was so pretty and so nice!!! she came to our table to get our orders and immediately started complimenting my nose ring and telling me about how she wants to get her septum pierced too, and liked my shirt and my entire outfit.

and i was being so cool about it for a total of 2.5 seconds until she asked "are you two together?"

and of course my brain didn't realize she was asking if the check was together or separate and i stared at her for the longest time before i answered, "um, no, thats my mom."

she was so nice about it thankfully and laughed and said thats exactly how she would've taken the question. i think she was being VERY kind cause i was so embarrassed and was covering my beet-red face with my hands.

clearly any brain cells i have evaporates in front of pretty nice girls.

last year I was swimming around in a little cove in Devon somewhere, and this female grey seal came up to me and we swam together, maybe two or three metres away from one another. I turned blue from the cold because I couldn't leave. I've never felt so alive and special, and I think about her almost every day.

I’m so mad at y’all for not getting me into Love and Monsters. It has everything you guys want! A post-apocalyptic story that makes fun of the normal genre tropes but still makes them work; a protag who isn’t automatically good at survival skills just because he’s the main character; a rich world of monsters that were clearly created with love because they are all so detailed and exquisite and not just a gauntlet of dangerous creatures to fight but new elements of nature that humans still have responsibility to respect and live beside; excellent vfx, PRACTICAL EFFECTS. I’m talking about PUPPETS, Y’ALL; a love story that turns out to not be about romantic love at all, but about family and community; a hopeful and happy ending instead of a bleak one; an adorable dog — who lives!! And Dylan Obrien’s acting is really good! And the story is well-written and the characters are interesting! It’s just a really refreshing movie compared to a lot of action flicks these days and I highly recommend it

so this woman came into work with her boyfriend, and was obviously dressed up very nice - i asked about it and she said they were going to brunch because she’d won an award (?) or something similar. her boyfriend was in dirty jeans and a fake taxi jumper, and he started cracking jokes about her, and it was so sad because she visibly deflated

anyway i saw them in the grocery store on my short break, so i brought her some flowers. handed them to her outside and told her congratulations! she looked genuinely so surprised and was so grateful and im just like. girl i really hope you have some other people in your life to celebrate with.
