My heart absolutely breaks for Amangeaux. like imagine after not seeing people for half a decade, you finally reunite only to immediately be plunged into battle. No time for awkward explanations or stilted apologies, it’s fight together or die. But she also can’t help herself but care for them. She tries to protect raphaniel from his own worst instincts, but steps back when she realizes he needs this for himself. She tries to reign in karna’s blood-thirst, while still being willing to follow her down into the pits if it means a shot at helping karna to safety.

(She doesn’t know that these people she cares so deeply for are the ones who poisoned her husband to keep her from producing an heir. Or that karna offered up her baby for murder, not even caring to check if he actually posed a threat to the throne. And even worse, they’ve told each other these secrets, and are completely remorseless about what they’ve done.)

And then, after being blackmailed into doing the FDA’s dirty work which nearly broke her as a person, she discovers the person who organized it all was the same woman who’s looked after her all her life!! and she finds this out right before she has to deal the final blow to end her suffering!!

Random and Not So Random thoughts while watching Bridgerton: Season 1, Episode 4

Author’s Note: I LOVED THIS! I loved writing every part and I loved how it ended and my whole heart went into this and I wish more people read it but like i’m glad someone does you know. I really think that it’s my best work. I still can’t believe i didn’t cast robert de niro but thats fine. I hope to do something along the lines of this in the future again because I had so much fun with this so i really really hope you guys enjoy.     “I don’t know if we’re in the clear,” Leo muttered, looking out the window of Hugh’s apartment. There was something about the way he said that that made you nervous but your mind kept going back to everyone down there. You had been in the neutral so long that you couldn’t think of being anything different. But you figured you would need to break that at some point, even if it strained your relationship with Leo. Whatever relationship it was.

    “Let’s go to the pizzeria.” 

    Hugh and Leo turned to look at you like you were insane. You sat on the couch, your legs spread a little, elbows on your knees. You sat up, leaning against the back of Hugh’s raggedy old couch. 

    “Are you mad?” Hugh asked. Leo nodded, walking toward you. His hand raised a little bit as he started to talk.   

    “He’s right. Whoever he is.”

    “I already introduced you.”

    “That isn’t the point. We can’t go out there unless we want to die.” You shook your head and made sure that you didn’t want to do that. You didn’t want to die but you did want to be a part of something and you knew if you were going to be a part of anything in the corner it was going to be whatever happened in the pizzeria or the casino. You’d bet money on the pizzeria at least to go and see where the Firths stood.

    “We have to go down there Leo. We can’t be in the middle of this anymore, I can’t be here. I need to make sure that this ends tonight or that I die trying to make it end. You can come with me if you want but I’m going with or without you.”

    Leo shook his head, looking out the window exasperated. You glanced between him and Hugh and when neither of them said anything you made for the door. As you opened it Leo spoke.

    “I’ll go.” 

    He pulled his gun out of his waistband and checked the bullets quickly before walking toward you. You nodded and glanced at Hugh, giving him a nod before turning away.

    “I’m going too.” You raised your eyebrow, turning around slowly to look at him.

    “Hugh this isn’t your fight.”    

    “From what you just said, it isn’t yours either.”

    You couldn’t argue with that so you just walked down to the pizzeria together. You quickly showed Hugh how to use the extra gun in your pocket and you loaded the one under your dress. 

    You walked in, catching the eye of Dacre and Natalia who were behind the counter, talking furiously.

    “We’re closed!” they yelled in unison. 

    “One pizza?” you asked. They turned to look at you, surprised that you had been there at all, let alone flanked by Leo and Hugh whom they had only met once. 

    “What are you doing here?” Nat asked. You shrugged, walking up to the counter.

    “Finishing what should be finished.” They looked you in the eye and then looked between the two guys who were with you. They nodded.

    “Okay.” 

    Just after Dacre finished saying that Jodie burst into the pizzeria, out of breath, hair disheveled.

    “Jodie?” Dacre whispered. He was surprised to see her again and figured this was a trap to get them to comply. Send her in, knowing she had gotten close to him.

    Jodie on the other hand had made up her mind. She didn’t like being with her father. She didn’t enjoy the world that she was having to do but above all she knew that it could change. That she could change. That she could change it. 

    “My father is on his way. He’s coming alone, he’s nearly here.”

    You and everyone took in the information and nodded. Dacre walked over and grabbed her arm.

    “If you’re fucking with me it’ll be the last thing you do.”     “You sure know how to charm a girl.”    

    Jodie walked beside the small group of people and pulled out a gun of her own. Her and Leo glanced at each other and there was a look of recognition and understanding. Jodie knew you were there and that was that. Not seconds later did Tim come in the door. 

    Tim had thought he was coming to kill the girl who killed his daughter and maybe her brothers. There were more people there than expected but he tried not to be daunted. A gun in hand he stood by the door. 

    “Listen-”

    He starts but he is quickly cut off by the raining of bullets that came down on him by every person in the room.

    Natalia and Dacre, for their father.

    Jodie for her sister, for her life.

    Leo for his freedom.

    You for yourself. For your ability to choose a side, to choose your side. To finish it.

    Hugh because he was exhausted from the crime on his corner and he figured he probably should. 

    As the noise of the gun shots slowed there was a ding of the bell above the door. Lana stepped in and shot Tim in the head once. Because she could.

    It was not a gloomy day the day of the funeral. It’s how Jake would have wanted it. The sun up and everyone there trying hard to ignore the obvious lack of tension between the people there. There were people from all around the corner. The smaller businesses, the people who had no idea what was going on in the corner. Everyone liked his bar. 

    All the guys liked him.

    All the girls wanted to or had slept with him.   

    His funeral was the day after Margots which was much attended. There was a big group of them, Colin and Tim having theirs earlier that week mostly to say good riddance. But everyone showed up to Jakes.

    All the ties had been broken, the blood fights that had lasted for as long as the kids could remember.

    Everyone looked over the casket, fancy black outfits littering the cemetery. 

    Saoirse and Timothee were the only two not in attendance. You had gotten a letter from her, saying that she had told Timothee she hated men and that he told her that was fair. They were gone the second they saw Jake’s body. 

    You didn’t blame them. You also figured she would be back. Whether her and Timothee knew what they were doing or not, you trusted they would figure it out.

    Natalia had gotten a letter from her brother a day before the funeral. She herself had left the second she learned Colin was dead. She came back for the funeral, her brother's letter still in her jacket pocket. She had decided to pursue her dreams in ballet. Dacre was fully supportive of this and knew that it would be easier for her out there then it would be for her at the pizzeria although he promised she would always have a place there. Even at the funeral, she had her ballet slippers in the bag by her side. 

    As for Lana, she stayed around her job. She was a freelancer and that wouldn’t change but she had picked up a new job as the owner of Jake’s bar. She liked him as she told her brother and promised him that she would make it better than it was. Run it the way she thought her friend would. Also it was fun to be able to be around everyone, knowing they knew how many people she had killed. It was simple like that but so far, the people's vote was that she was good at her job.

    Hugh, while at the funeral because he felt an inkling of guilt, moved out of his apartment and out of the city entirely. Even if he did leave Jodie and Dacre his number and you of course but he figured he would rarely see you after the funeral. His life was different. He didn’t belong there. No matter how much he would miss you drunkenly coming to his door.

    Jodie took up the casino, against her better judgement. Dacre had taken over the pizzeria and she knew that she would be able to work with him, in more ways than one. By bringing together the two biggest businesses on the corner they were able to be stronger than ever. The stigma between the two families was gone. Three years after they met they married. It was a small ceremony but Jodie got her happy ending. Dacre got his girl. Everyone in the pizzeria the night Jodie's father was killed attended and they even got a RSVP from Timothee and Saoirse although they didn’t show. They did send a nice gift though.

    As for you, you got your Leo. You were finally able to support both families and you even handled a lot of their finances. You held your position of power and you got the guy you liked whose sister was the biggest hitman in the country. It was the simplest thing that you could think of but also the most perfect. You were able to walk between the pizzeria and the casino freely and you and Leo were happy in your dingy apartment you shared. You attended Jodie's wedding and she attended yours with Leo. In some twisted way you were both sure this was how it was meant to end. 

    Hugh was the first to walk back to his car, away from Jakes’ body. He drove off and you all listened to it as he went.    

    After that, Natalia. She was going to miss practice and she was never a fan of that. She got into her fancy car and drove off.

    One by one, every person left.

    Lana, then Jodie and Dacre. 

    Eventually Leo wrapped his arm around your waist and you nodded, pushing your large black sunglasses onto your head.

    You turned and he got into the driver's seat of his car. You watched the cemetery fade from view.

    Soon you were back in the city corner. It shown with bright sparkling lights from the slot machines and the apartment windows and teh restaurants. 

    The corner of any city was never quiet.

    The city never sleeps.

the mamma mia films did nothing wrong and i have proof*

*the proof is my opinion

i love the mamma mia films with my whole heart and soul and i absolutely adore how they sacrificed a lot of traditional film elements like plot continuity in order to maximise the joy experienced and also the amount of abba songs they could squeeze into two hours. below i have compiled some of the biggest discrepancies between the two films and why i think they are not only justified but also the height of cinematic genius

> starting with the big one: in mamma mia the order donna sleeps with the men is established to be sam then bill then harry. in mamma mia 2 donna sleeps with the men in almost the opposite order- first harry, then sam, then bill. no explanation is given for this- and why should it be!! donna needs to sleep with harry first so that the paris storyline could happen and the paris storyline had to happen because we needed waterloo in this film since we didn’t get it in the first one!!! a very sexy decision on the film producers part and one i respect. i don’t know why bill and harry were swapped and nor do i care! i love it!

> (in this same thread, donna supposedly met sam when he rowed her to the island, bill when he gave her a ride on his motorbike, and harry when she offered to show him around. none of these things are true in the second film and that has such big dick energy i can’t even begin to explain the genius of it. mamma mia said yes you saw it. no you didn’t. yes you did. no <3 )

> the other big one: in the first film, donna references her mother being in hell and strongly implies that she’s dead. the second film said fuck it, completely ignored this, and cast cher to play the role. iconic. this was a good decision because cher got to sing fernando with andy garcia and also release another album full of abba covers. i especially love how they didn’t make any effort to clarify anything about her dead or alive status because this gives us the ability to interpret cher’s character as a ghost who came back from the dead to crash her granddaughters party and sing abba at karaoke. 

> in the first film it’s established that donna is able to run the hotel thanks to bill’s great aunt sophia, who helped her financially. in the second film not only is there no mention of this aunt but also donna is shown to inherit the hotel from an old woman. this could be the great aunt sophia the first films talk about except bill isn’t her nephew because she has a different nephew (who donna definitely didn’t sleep with) and also doesn’t appear to recognise bill. i don’t know what happened here but i am more than happy to accept both things as truth and just roll with it because there is abba playing in the background and that sparks joy within me.

> now i am going to talk about the flashbacks. in the flashbacks in the first film (iconic!!! don’t get new actors just dress the old ones up and make very little effort!!! i cannot describe how much joy this brings me!!) harry is a punk, bill is a rock fan, and sam is a hippy. mamma mia 2 said ‘you didn’t see it’ and completely reinvented their characters. and i’m here for it!!! makes no sense at all and i love it!!! as much as i would’ve loved to see colin firth, pierce brosnan, and stellan skarsgård just pretend to be 20 year olds for two hours i Understand why they did not choose this route and i think it was very cool of them to ignore the previous characterisations so they could build completely new ones that make them more suited to certain abba songs. 

> in the first film tanya and rosie don’t seem to know about donna’s past with the three men but in the second it is established that they met and interacted with at least two of them. but also maybe they just forgot. it happens. also, i think they should be allowed to do this as it makes the whole film that much more chaotic, which is hot.

> in the first film donna always complains about the bills she has to pay however in the second film it is revealed to us that she doesn’t pay bills because a kind old lady just straight up gave her a house for free. however this was also so they could film the money money money scene which is iconic and because they gave us that they can do what they want, which includes, but is not limited to, rewriting the whole plot during the second film.

THIS IS SO SAD BUT NO...... he would DIE for a sibling, and his parents dont have siblings either so he doesnt even have cousins,,, he longs for that kind of relationship so much??

he ended up projecting being a big brother to many people over the course of his life instead, and it embarrasses him so much when he notices it happening, it makes him feel so silly

i would say the biggest tugs of that kind of dynamic rn are maybe with colin especially with all the dumb fake animosity, while adrien is almost a legit Parental/mother hen feeling of being protective of him

What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?

ive talked about this a bit before, but graham was the product of an arranged marriage. his grandfather made his dad marry a woman from a prestigious family so they could keep their popularity and prestige and important connections themselves, especially as immigrants in a very racist country

his parents ended up caring deeply for one another, but not in a romantic way, and his mother was extremely depressed and anxious throughout her pregnancy, and after graham was born. she was nearly suicidal and grahams grandfather was only making things worse, so it was grahams dad who basically. decided to say fuck it to his father, bring grahams mother somewhere safe, give her all the money and resources and protection she needed to get better and pursue her own life, and he was super attached to baby graham and wanted to raise him all by himself

this early turmoil traumatized graham and when he grew up it was something that made him feel othered in relation to his peers, in addition to his race, his culture, his budding gender identity and sexual & romantic orientations. it made him feel deeply unloveable, broken, and incapable of love himself, it was one of the things that made him grow up very wary of the concept of marriage, and it took a lot of vulnerability, respect and genuine care and hard work between him and his dad to understand that the circumstances of his birth were not his fault, and that this was the best solution for everyone to be able to experience their love for each other the best way possible

graham has met her several times, writes to her regularly, and he treats her like a dear friend rather than a parent. hes happy for her, her art degrees, her girlfriend, and in turn shes expressed a lot of pride and joy in getting to meet this boy she helped bring to the world

What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?

graham loves his dad to fucking pieces

hes such a humble, emotionally intelligent and caring man, who from early on caught onto all the outdated and damaging aspects of the traditions of his family and fought against it time after time after time

he is completely different from his own father, who had very specific plans for him, and he just foiled them all!

with grahams birth, he did the best he could raising him by himself, thwarting his fathers enduring influence, and making sure this kid had all the tools to be true to himself and follow his heart no matter what. he isnt perfect and of course he made many mistakes, but he is always humble enough to admit when hes wrong, apologize to his child, communicate his feelings and figure out solutions together. graham has always had an amazing role model in him

the circumstances of grahams disappearance and then return after the trials of his own jumanji esque adventure are still difficult for him to understand, but he still believed graham, and he was the biggest force in bringing his son back from his damaging self isolation and motivate him to cook, to live, to carry on

he still remains ever supporting and adoring of his child, adoring of his new child in law, and just an all around amazing dude

during the time they were in their own jumanji esque adventure, completely by himself, unaided, trapped in some reality away from his own so he could put it together and slowly solve this lock puzzle until he got to come home again

hes usually ok with handling himself with crises, even when theres a lot of blood

bunnies! lots of sweet stuffies, including rabbits, pokemon and marine creatures

i would say his biiiiiiig repulsion/aversion to dating culture in general? this is related to his family history but is also a big consequence of his aromanticism

i would say so, yes!! working on video games, pro cuddling and cooking for others are definitely pinnacles of things hes always thought would bring others joy

home... close to kes, taking a deep breath in their little home, with their little family, and feeling wholly, intrinsically belonging...

similar locations are for example when his dad throws a party and graham gets to invite all his best friends and everyone just has a lovely time laughing and eating together. game streams are a similar venture too!!

but at the end of the day, coming home, kicking off shoes and clothes, snuggling up to his starlight and their babies? pure bliss

OUAT 3X01 - The Heart of the Truest Believer

Finally, I can start Season 3! It’s been so long that I can HEART-ly believe it!

...Did you miss the puns? I missed the puns. I don’t think Emma did, because I’m just hanging on by a thread! 

(Ha! Snuck two in!)

Anyway, let’s get under the cut and see what this episode has to offer!

Press Release Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, Mr. Gold and Hook enter Neverland to search for a kidnapped Henry, they’re greeted by a school of not-to-friendly mermaids who threaten to end their search before it begins; Henry finds himself on the run from the Lost Boys with another escapee from Peter Pan’s encampment; and Neal, recovering from his wounds, travels through the Enchanted Forest with Mulan in an attempt to learn the fates of Emma and Henry.

General Thoughts - Characters/Stories/Themes and Their Effectiveness Neverland Seas ”I blame you.” Yeah, I disagree, Emma. For one thing, this plays a pretty small part of the overall story. For another, while they tried to convince her of what to do, it was Emma’s ultimate decision to do it. As she says, “We’re the same age. We have equal amounts of wisdom.” For a third, their decision, while endangering Henry, saved Regina. For a fourth, the only people’s faults for Henry’s capture are Greg and Tamara. *sighs* Look, I get Emma’s grief and worry, but this writing direction doesn’t feel genuine for her to deflect blaming Snow and David. It feels like a conflict was thrown in so that there would be more of a disconnect between her and her family.  I love Emma, but I can admit when a scene makes her completely unsympathetic despite the framing telling me otherwise, and this is a prime example. And here’s the thing: This never comes up again! Emma doesn’t apologize to them. This moment is utterly pointless!

The importance of teamwork is the big theme of this segment and once we get over that hiccup of a scene as I just mentioned, it’s delivered incredibly effectively. The conflicts between the characters, both internal and external, are incredibly real and no one is holding back. And the twist of those conflicts causing the storm is handled well! Rumple presents the bare essence of the theme, about Emma’s lack of belief, and because he chooses to go off on his own, the narrative has him fail by putting him into a traumatising position, whereas Emma’s belief in their abilities as a team and, in correlation with Rumple’s speech, herself, allows for the rest of the Nevengers to succeed.

Neverland Island So I have a nice bit to say about this segment, but it all applies to my “Favorite Dynamics” segment, so you’ll see that down there!

Enchanted Forest There’s not really much to be said about the story other than I liked it. That’s not to say that I didn’t like it or I didn’t appreciate the characters re-introduced or the interactions between them, but it was rather simple and that just doesn’t leave me a lot to talk about in terms of a breakdown of themes of major character actions. Still, the pacing was nice and the story was engaging!

Insights - Stream of Consciousness -So I didn’t realize that Emma giving birth to Henry was the first scene of the season. For some reason, I was under the impression that it happened at the start of “Coming Home,” but I honestly love it being here. Immediately, you get the sense that this arc was well planned so that it could return to this moment at the end of “Coming Home.”

-Also, I love that flicker of light as Emma gives birth! Such a special part of Emma’s life -- one filled with both joy and misery as she decides to give Henry away -- deserves the magical treatment!

-I seriously got choked up as Emma denied her chance at being Henry’s mother from the start. There’s so much love for him from the start and while it’s causing her so much pain, she’s doing what she thinks is best for him. And the gentle and yet powerful way the theme plays in the background just kills me. Swan Believer forever!

-Damn, what a cool way to go back to the present! We’re put right in the action, not missing a minute of the adventure.

-I will NEVER get over how much I love hearing Killian say “Neverland.” Whether in “The Crocodile” or here, Colin puts so much energy into the word, encompassing the danger and adventure to be found there.

-”It’s a good thing you guys don’t ask any questions.” My sentiments exactly, Henry!

-”More time than I care to remember trying to leave this place to kill Rumplestiltskin.” This provides some interesting insight into Killian’s character. It implies (to me) that he devised his Dreamshade plan with quite a few years to spare before his escape, whereas I always assumed that the planning took most of the time and that the escape was just a pinch of time towards the end.

-”Villains don’t get happy endings.” It’s incredible that this line, said by a character that left so little of an impression, is what follows Regina, Rumple, and Killian throughout basically the rest of the series.

-”That’s a great use of our time. A wardrobe change.” To be fair, Killian, Rumple’s not going to be in fighting shape sporting a Calvin Klein suit. This...honestly weird ass outfit makes the most sense.

-”You don’t believe in your parents, you don’t believe in magic, or even yourself.” Talk about a kickass line of foreshadowing of all that she’s going to overcome by the end of this arc!

-”When have you ever taken a real leap of faith?” Give it about a half hour, Rumple!

-So I must say, it’s funny that a lack of evidence is brought up as such a big story element here, but once Tink enters the picture, it’s her need for evidence as to the safety of their voyage back that secures it. A bit of dissonance, but nothing too severe.

-I love how Rumple spins his cane as he disappears. Rumple is the most beautifully extra person across the realms.

-I probably should’ve discussed this last time, but I love the design for the Lost Boys. They give off this air of being lost souls and their numbers stand to make them very intimidating.

-So going off of Greg’s death as well as the events of “Awake,” I’m gonna say that a shadow rip doesn’t necessitate death unless the shadow ripper wants it to mean death.

-”No time for questions.” I like that subtle line that’s in tune with Greg and Tamara’s line of no asking questions, foreshadowing the revelation about him.

-Damn! JMO is strong!

-The dialogue in the scene with Neal, Mulan, Aurora, and Phillip flows so naturally!

-”How long was he with you?” ”Long enough for me to know that I miss him, too.” I normally don’t make timeline jokes, but...come onnnnn!

-”I will not be capsized by fish.” This may be my new favorite David line.

-Also, any pretense that murder leaves any long-lasting effects of Snow and David go the fuck away when David tries to kill mermaids.

-Why didn’t Regina get rid of them earlier?

-”If Pan wants you, he WILL get you.” This line is delivered so well. Pan is not only just barely holding out from outright bragging, but is trying to deteriorate Henry’s belief and seeing that it isn’t working, cementing his part to play in Pan’s ploy.

-”Lead the way.” Am I the only one humming “Follow the Leader?”

-I like how, until Rumple enchants her, Tamara physically can’t talk. Very realistic.

-You know, everyone talks about heart colors when it comes to Rumple, Regina, Snow, and Killian, but does anyone notice how Tamara’s heart was pretty freakin’ red when Gold crushed it?

-Did no one read “Lord of the Flies?” Get the conch shell away from your enemies!

-”Filet the bitch.” I’m starting to think that all of my favorite character lines in this show have to do with aquatic life.

-”We need to think this through.” Emma, that why they’re shouting at each other. They’re discussing the matter.

-Okay, so I’m not the biggest Robin Sr. fan (And I’m hoping that this rewatch changes that for the better), but this was a solid entrance. It feels iconic, plays to the character’s power and good nature, and the more neutral yet noble tone that the scene requires plays well to Sean’s strengths.

-”See these markings? He was keeping track of me growing.” Awwwww!!! Papafire moment! That was necessary and beautiful!

-I just realized, this is our intro to blood magic! Cool!

-”I ruined YOUR life?” Regina, please. I thought we were past that…

-”Don’t call my wife a slag!” Yeah, Killian. You deserved the fuck outta that punch.

-I love the music that plays during the flying sequence! It’s gorgeous, distinct, and whimsical!

-CAPTAIN CHARMING BROMANCE!!! We have taken off!

-So I’m guessing that Rumple has encountered Felix at least one or two times.

-”Each of us have been too busy being at each other’s throats to be believers.” Those things aren’t correlated.

-”We need to do this the right way.” “No, we don’t. We just need to succeed.” YESSSS! Emma! That is my girl! She gets her tactics from her mama!!

-”It’s easier to get people to hate something than to believe.” That’s...incredibly accurate.

Arcs - How Are These Storylines Progressing? Everyone Working Together AND The Mission to Save Henry- ”It’s time for all of us to believe, not in magic, but in each other.” Emma’s speech took a sentence to get going, but once it did, DAMN did it get good! Now, as one gleams from this episode, these two arcs are one and the same. The only way Henry is saved is by working together, and this episode completely captures why that’s so important.

Emma Accepting Her Parents - This second-part-of-an-arc got off to SUCH a weak start, and that’s frustrating because I KNOW it gets better from here. But what I said above does apply.

Greg and Tamara - “We don’t ask questions. We just believe in our cause.” Holy crap. Tamara and Greg went from being two pretty intelligent and well designed villains into being total morons. I will say, part of me is glad that they did because if not, their conflict would’ve been way too close to a science vs. religion debate for comfort. But they also die here. To be honest, if anyone but Rumple was to find one of them, I’d rather it have been Greg who got the additional moments of life to speak and allow for Henry to get away. His story, well, was actually a story, whereas Tamara’s connection to Neal is loose at best.

Killian’s Redemption - Killian’s redemption takes an honest-to-goodness step forward. He’s acting on his decision to care about someone other than himself (And that shows through the two people aboard the ship that can stand him), but still has quite a bit of his verbal firepower and contempt (Towards David and Rumple) that reminds us of his villainous past and that his redemption won’t be all sunshine and rainbows.

Rumple’s Redemption - Rumple takes what is a realistic step back, though I’m not even certain I should call it a step back. Despite being his Rumple-y self, the narrative makes it very clear that his decision to dessert the group and chastise them beforehand are made on behalf of the mission to save Henry. And as we see the personal trials he’s already taken on in this pursuit with the confrontation with Pan’s minion, there’s so much power that grows with these decisions.

Regina’s Redemption - Regina also takes a step back into some of her more vicious tendencies: hating on Snow, defaulting to magic and violence for all her solutions. I personally like this because while there’s an understanding that these people are family, the anger and resentment between Regina and them is still present and in the heat of the moment, Regina won’t forget it. I will say, the Regina Blames the World trope is back and it still annoys me, though slightly less so here because the framing wasn’t going for sympathy in that moment.

Favorite Dynamic Henry and Pan. Pan’s dynamic with Henry sets up perfectly the kind of monster he will be for the rest of the season. He’s an incredible manipulator and plans out everything he says in order to activate Henry’s belief just when he needs to. Look at the way he set up the pixie dust and how that moment pays off! It’s makes for a triumphant moment that becomes terrifying in hindsight. But what makes this dynamic work so well is how it is set up. In the few minutes we see before Pan’s disguised appearance, Neverland has shown itself to be a cruel place. The location itself is darkly lit and the two villains of the previous season are violently murdered. Because of that, we as an audience clutch to Pan just as Henry does and because of that, for the first time, our belief causes suffering as the deception is exposed.

Writer Adam and Eddy, as usual start up the season! And I honestly like it. A lot of it is good! I’d compare it to the Season 1 finale where it’s a good mix of story and character moments (And just like in the Season 1 finale, has a completely pointless and aggravating moment, but thankfully, this one doesn’t mean a lot)! I feel like the characters were put in a solid place where they have room to grow and are put somewhere that keeps them intimate and gives them opportunities for great dynamics!

Rating 9/10. This episode is a great way to start off the season! The settings and themes have been set up well, and the characters are in good form! It’s exciting and adventurous, but nerve racking all the same. It makes me super excited for what’s to come!

Flip My Ship - The Home of All Things “Shippy Goodness” Captain Swan - Look, season 2 was not Captain Swan’s golden time for shipping (For me, at least), but Season 3 is here and they are glorious! Killian is incredibly respectful of Emma, comforts her over her worries, addresses underlying grief she has for Baelfire, and supports her as she prepares for Neverland’s horrors. It’s honestly amazing! Also, Emma and Killian are sailing the Roger together during the storm!! They’re working together and it is the BEST!!! Ship of dreams...quite literally! Swanfire - And don’t think I forgot about Swanfire! Both Emma’s grief and Neal’s devotion to getting back to her is such a big presence in this episode. “Tell Emma I’m alive, and that I love her.” Letting Emma know that he’s both okay and loves her is Neal’s main priority and that’s just incredible! And I loved Neal’s scene with Mulan as he discusses his regrets leaving Emma. <3

Finale - "I. Love. Power." ~Jodi

I'm having a very emotional moment right now, let me just write about my feelings. I spent this entire game countering advantages. Because I wanted to put this game in my own hands. If I had not gotten rid of Dennis in that twist with no advantages, Dennis would've cruised through and when time came, decided to target me when he wanted to and he would have protection. Same with Colin for example, sure, maybe he wouldn't gun for me but he also could've just cruised from Final 7 to Final 4 with his 3 advantages and my fate in this game would've been in HIS hands. If he wanted to keep me he'd do it and if not then he wouldn't. I wanted my game in my own hands, and that's what I did. People kept thinking I was playing a backstabbing game for no reason, but in reality, I just wanted a fair shot at this game and creating my own fate. I don't think that's unfair. Having 9 advantages in the merge as somebody with nothing terrified me, as I suspected they'd all be concentrated in one place. I was not wrong. I rightfully targeted Dennis for having 2 huge advantages, then rightfully targeted Colin for receiving all of Dennis' stuff, then Elle for literally sitting on 2 (suspected) idols and a steal-a-vote. I do not know why I am being crucified for just wanting to have a fair playing field. Even sitting here at final 5, we still have one final idol to counter. When Josh approached me to flip on Colin, Elle, and Amy, I found a light in this game again. Somebody who had the same objectives as I did wanted to play this game with me. He didn't see me as a threat to win, which meant he would've taken me to the end. So many unlucky things happened to me in this game and I just know that people want me out of this game so bad but I just wanted to survive and have a real shot at this. That's all it really was.

I think this is the biggest immunity I need to win. Because if I'm in F4, I think I can at least force fire making. But here today, I believe I need to win it not just to take immunity away from Amy or Elle, but that I think if Jared wins it, my game is literally dependent on a literal 50/50 guess of who the idol is going to be played on. Elle made it obvious that they want to target Jared from last night, so if Anastasia wins it, I might still be ok. I don't want Jared to win this. Straight up. He said he'll cut me at 4 anyways so I'm not going to play with my heart this round. I seriously want this immunity win so bad. You know, I'm sure the jury disagrees and despises me, but I truly think I played one of the most brilliant strategic games, at least for a newbie. I battled 9 advantages with NOTHING in my pocket since merge, with nothing but a social and strategic knack and love for the game of Survivor. At the merge, I got included into a 6-person majority alliance and a 3-person ride or die alliance. I knocked out a guy with 2 huge advantages at F11. I had control over every single pair at F10. I got knocked out at F9 with a CHAOS idol, despite the premise of Survivor being to NOT get votes. I fought back in at F8 as somebody who is incredibly bad at comps. I then voted out one of my #1 allies, the one that would NEVER cut me, even at 4, to create trust and move me further into the game. I created immunity for 3 people at F7 to keep my only 2 close allies left safe, by far my game winning move. I did this and knocked out my biggest competitor without having to write his name down, and with an idol in his pocket. At F6, I had a strong enough alliance to split votes. Unfortunately lost Josh to rocks, but I'm still here. My job at F5 is to either guess correctly to place votes on Amy or Elle or to win immunity. Because at F4, I could at least get Anastasia or Jared to force fire for me. I am so close. So close. 

Ahahahahaha well I have regrets about giving the steal to Elle. One - I forgot to tell them it was good until 5 so elle played it to remove anastasia? (Idk if I've already written about this but oh well) from the possibility of rocks. During the discussion once Josh said that he would vote elle I knew I was going to rocks one because it was fun and spicy and two because they were all set on elle and it seemed josh wasn't really going to vote with us so like it would have been rocks anyway. If I had known the round would be like that I would have held it myself and if I was rocked out lol but if I had it I wouldn't have played it and then elle and myself would be in as much control as is possible at 5. I mean I have the merge idol still plus having 3 of 5 votes please ugh the dream but OH WELL. I cannot wait to just list all my mistakes in this game 🤣🤣🤣 whoopsies. Anyway I'm excited to be immune I'm just worried that the others will just vote out elle because it's easy and / or they will just say to. I have my money on jodi to win this unfortunately because she is so social and would know the most about everyone. And I know nothing about these children bc I was on vacay the whole time. However I also think Jared still has his necklace. I would prefer f3 not have any of the j names lol. However we will see how it goes. I need to get there first and f4 is going to be tough. That's why I want elle still here so we can force fire for more spice. This is such a fun game which consists mostly of me saying whoopsies. I think I am toast at f4. It sounds like either everyone wants to take anastasia or vote her out but I'm about to play the idol and then I just told anastasia I'd go to rocks for her bc people are between wanting to take her or take her out at 4. I can't believe it sounds like elle wants to take jodi to f3 to be spicy like Jodi will win hahahahaha I have been trying to vote her out since the chaos idol but she had such a hold on people you know what congrats to her 🤣 I can't believe she's even still here rn. Jodi made it this far after having been chaos idoled out then won her way back and still was the biggest threat yet everyone wanted to keep her. Then there's me who no one knows I was the cause of the fake idol, the steal a vote (though played WEIRD), the merge idol yet (though they suspect), the mistake of fucking up the colin vote, the mistake of the 150 buy am advantage thing, the mistake of handing away my advantage, the mistake of not just trying to switch it to get jodi out instead of rocks, but yet here I am lol. It would be a fun one to win that's for sure because it's a hilarious story that I legit wasn't going to play at all. Maybe had I not been drinking so much on vacay and prevacay I would have made sounder decisions but sometimes it pays off to not seem as calculating and just blend in. Power Ranking Update:

Jodi: Immunity has given her the ability to dictate who goes home. She is in the middle of two sides right now: Elle & Amy vs. Anastasia & Jared. She’s giving more consideration to Elle & Amy since Jared, apparently, has explicitly told her that he would cut her at Final 4. This has given their relationship a lot of tension. Thus, it seems that Jodi is making the move first before he can make the move against her.

Elle: Doing everything they can to save their own ass. Has decided to make a deal with Jodi that seems to be very tempting and good if they want to make it to the end. Has the most power because they are on the bottom giving them the biggest credibility. This late game allyship will prove very beneficial.

Amy: Is going to idol. Is safe. Not doing much. Just vibing.

Anastasia: She has not done much in terms of planning this round. However, she has correctly deduced that Amy has the idol. Despite that, she is going to be left out of this plan if it comes to it which may put her in a very precarious spot at Final 4.

Jared: Explicitly telling Jodi that he was going to target her at Final 4 was the Wrong (Capital W) move. Now, he is mega on Jodi’s radar and has since been on Elle’s and Amy’s radar. His under the radar game is being exposed by a poor choice of honesty so close to the end.

This is my time to shine. I've studied the game since preparing for my buyback. I have a notebook from June 8 that says all the past vote outs, rounds, challenges, etc. I will stay up all night to know this game front and back. This win is mine.

The second I saw what the challenge was, I knew it was Jodi’s to win. The first thing she said to me was “I studied your game” and then she studied for the buyback, she’s been studying this whole time. Sorry I’ve been drinking at Disney then had 1 hour after work to study and all that helped with was the names one lol. I kept track of the ones that I mathed wrong or knew but the time countdown was too stressful to think and it was 4 meaning we would have tied LOL oh well.I just hope elle doesn’t turn on me and I can at least go to fire. I told anastasia before that I would force fire for her is the others want her gone but if it’s me or her sorry girl.The difficult part is IF I make it out of this tribal, I still truly believe it’s Jodi’s game to win. If I’m in the jury I’m probably voting Jodi but maybe Elle. I have a lot to convince the jury of because I was so behind the scenes. I think I have Dennis and Colin for sure for votes, Babs is a mystery. I think Josh hates us all but I’m the direct reason he was rocked out. Jodi has Brayden and Jared and probably Jay I think. So it would be really tough to beat Jodi. I will have to use the exact arguments that I don’t actually agree with that were used against me in subrosa (though there I wasn’t voted at 9, it was like 24 lol) saying I was at least never voted out and you shouldn’t need to win challenges to keep yourself alive. I will have to use her own words and say it can be seen as being a coward to not commit to a vote and instead try to keep your hands clean (the Jared vote) so whoever survived she could be good with but also good with the jury members even though he straight up said he made Jared play his idol on her to be able to vote him out soon after lol. I have decided what I'm going to do tonight.... Who ever thought I'd get here? I guess my studying paid off. Tonight is a big tribal council, because it's more nuanced than just sending 2 people to fire or voting somebody out. Whoever wins fire also has a "cherry on top" in terms of a final comp win to earn their spot into FTC, so as a Final Immunity winner, this becomes a dilemma of do I try to take out my biggest threat to win, at the risk of giving them a possible final flashy move? Essentially, the obvious situation is whether or not I send Amy and Anastasia to fire tonight. I owe my life in this game to Anastasia, who was my most loyal ally since I came back into the game. Amy flipped and played Colin's game and is the representative of that "side"'s game. She is definitely my biggest threat for votes. If she goes, she has to go, she can't win fire. Elle won't flip on Amy, Anastasia's not confident, so what do I do? 1) Vote out Anastasia 3-1, fight with Elle and Amy in the end. This option means there's no fire for either Amy or Anastasia to have on their resumes. This option means I must get 5 votes, as Anastasia sitting beside me meant she would've given me the final tiebreaker vote. Elle and Amy vote for each other, so I have to win straight out here. 2) Convince Amy to vote Elle and then me and Anastasia vote Amy in a 2-1-1. Same reason as Elle, Amy won't vote Elle out. She went to rocks for them even while holding an idol! 3) Give my immunity necklace to Anastasia, and ask her to send me to fire with Amy, and I take out Amy myself. This not only robs Amy of the final flashy move (if I win), but I would directly take control of who I want in the final 3. Pulling an Underwood is obviously risky, but for the Amy stans on the Jury, they literally cannot be upset at me if I take her out like this. I've flirted with this idea ever since making Final 4, but of course, there's a really small (but still existing) chance of me getting Erik Reichenbach'd here. I had to gauge how my chances are at the moment and how much they'd change with a successful fire challenge, but alas, in the words of Jay Bee themself, this would be "the most Jodi move" to cap off my game. Jodi: Her winning immunity was crucial for her winning the entire game. She definitely played the Messiest game out of everyone on this cast, but that has more than earned her a spot at FTC. She is most likely to win out of this Final 4, and her vote will be the most crucial for tonight to determine if this will be fire or Anastasia’s vote-out.

Elle: She is the safest person without immunity tonight. From being targeted at 6 and 7 for having an idol they did not have to being assured FTC, Elle has had a journey from under the radar. They are not at threat of being eliminated from this game with whatever Jodi decides to do.

Amy: She is in a very precarious position now. While Elle will vote Anastasia, Jodi might not. This means that Amy might have to go to fire, but I think she got in good enough with Jodi at this point to be higher than Anastasia.

Anastasia: Most definitely receiving votes.

Wow hahahahahahahaha what a journey this has been. From saying I won’t be playing the game, to saying a have to hard quit by May 28, to winning 3 hunts and knowing where every advantage was, to playing while on vacation literally in Disney World for a week, to avoiding any sort of target from either side somehow, to being here in FTC. Is this how I imagined FTC to be comprised? NO hahaha I still think Jodi is going to run away with it and I have a lot of convincing to do in my speech to try to win over the jury. I had a moment that I was going to have to do fire in my car at f4 haha but I offered Anastasia fire and she didn’t want to do it. Also my original plan to force fire was to try to get Jodi out haha but that girl earned her spot in FTC. I just want to say it’s been an incredibly fun game to play and I’ve enjoyed playing this game with everyone and I hope that I can get to know everyone better when I’m not doing a million other things too. I think my goal in FTC (depending on time limits, Raffy please give me 10 minutes for a speech haha) is to reveal my hunt wins, strategy to keep targets elsewhere, the flip and undercover agent for 3 rounds, being gifted immunity twice, risking my entire game for my allies, not asking anyone to play advantages on me (actually the opposite- please DO NOT play them on me), not needing to win immunities to make it to the end, being in a position to be ale to give away advantages (which benefitted me by making the rest believe Elle somehow had the other idol to ensure the votes were on me instead thus assuring we both made f4 with my idol play), and never being voted out of the game. I want to show thatI played a messy game actually trying to be voted out early with the two alliances set up following my plan of having Dennis and brayden believe I was their ideas all while becoming closer with jodi so she wouldn’t ever go against me. I played deliberately making moves and owning vote outs, never playing only to keep my hands clean. I was on the right side of EVERY vote except Colin - my biggest mistake of the game since had he played his idol there chances are he’d be sitting here too. I want to thank Dennis and the survivor gods for bringing Colin and I together at the perfect time to flip the game completely. I want to show my game was imperfect and I never tried to control people’s every move. I was flexible and worked collectively even going against my trust issues. I put my life in others’ hands and at any point people could have easily turned against me. Frankly I’m not sure why they didn’t. I want to show that I respected everyone and was able to make all the moves I did while being in constant transit or being Epcot drunk. I want to explain that a messy and imperfect game with big moves, never being voted out, many mistakes, hunt wins, a lot of information flowing to me, and a lot of fun in possible and deserving of the title of sole survivor. I kept my cards close as I usually do in games, but I played more risky than ever. Even being in a minority alliance I was never receiving votes nor was my name even being mentioned until it was too late. I’m really proud of the game I played, but I recognize much of the jury might be really bitter toward me and view Elle’s underdog story or Jodi’s power and comeback as more deserving. Either way I think it’s a great F3 and I look forward to a fun FTC. I won’t be stressing as much (hopefully) as my previous FTC. Thank you to everyone who made this game what it was. It might be my favorite game I’ve played even though I still refuse to learn anything about Persona. I look forward to many game nights (if I don’t hard quit skype again lol).

I hope people like my Rites of Passage jokes, I tried to tailor them to every person at least a little. I also people like Ingary, which I'll have 5 dedicated days to plan and prep the rest of it with Dylan 😂 jeez. FTC Power Ranking:

Amy: Amy had the strongest Final Tribal Council out of the three. She exposed a lot of her game to people turning Amy supporters to Amy simps and people who were on the fence about her into people who recognize how well she played. The secrets she kept were very important to reveal as it changed how the game was viewed. She did an excellent job at unveiling all of the shadows in this game, and I think she impressed the jury the most.

Jodi: Jodi did not have a lot to reveal like Amy. Most of Jodi’s game has already been talked about and/or known about as she played very openly and vocally. This made her Final Tribal Council turn into defending her own play style for most of the time she was given. She certainly did demonstrate a lot of passion which is good to sway some people off of Amy with an emotional plea. I think her biggest issue was that she did not adequately acknowledge the flaws in her game that people had and refute those flaws.

Elle: Elle had a very chill vibe at Final Tribal Council. They mostly answered all of the questions in the same way with the same answers. This definitely hurt them as it felt like Elle didn’t explain how they got to the end of their own merit. Instead, they made it seem like her allies carried her to the end rather than anything they did explicitly. They were a Hero to the very end by simply being themselves and hoping that it would net them votes. However, they were definitely the weakest at Final Tribal Council out of the three present.

"Please can we not make her mayor?"

I woke up today to this fascinating question regarding Cllr. Ana Bailão’s votes to uphold systemic oppression within the Toronto Police. “Please can we not make her mayor?”

It was a deceptively complex question that got me thinking of some of the fundamentals of activism, social change and politics, that I wanted to unpack this question bit by bit.

I’ve cut it into five sections: PLEASE, CAN, WE, NOT MAKE HER, MAYOR.

1. PLEASE

I assume this softens the meaning of the phrase - “I want her out of politics” is pretty harsh – especially in the context of a man publicly critiquing a woman. Yet it shows us something important – we are implying we need permission to participate in politics.

Why are we asking for permission? And to whom is this appeal directed? Last time I checked, I don’t need permission to do most things in life, including participating in the political process. Our US-based friends did not ask for permission when they recently revolted against their governments; they did it even though they faced police brutality, neo-Nazi paramilitaries, psychological warfare, a global pandemic and more.

The “please” comes out of the respectability politics that makes “Ontario” as a political entity so curious. “Please don’t gut our healthcare!” is not coming from a position of strength. (Anyway, it’s much easier for progressives to walk back overzealousness in the name of justice than it is for people to walk back bigotry.)

To best challenge power, we must never apologize for having ambitious convictions. We need to champion big ideas, even if they’re ahead of the curve. Two months ago, police reform would have been considered impossible in America. And they were right, it was impossible...under the existing model. So they changed the model.

Change – especially lasting change – comes from the grassroots, so while it’s not a bad thing to support progressive political candidates, parties and organizations, it is *significantly* more important to support issues-based activists and organizations (i.e. if you give $10 monthly to the NDP, why not also give $10 to your favourite advocacy group?). Issues-based groups are formed to challenge one specific cog of power at a time and can therefore deliver deep, fundamental and long-lasting impacts. (Plus…this is a great way for potential candidates to gain some experience; get those ppl knocking on doors now and they’ll do much better in 2022.)

2. CAN

If we are asking “do we, as a community, have the capacity to elect someone better?” The answer to this is yes, but if we’re instead asking “will someone within the existing structure please FINALLY get off their ass and challenge her?” then we might ask ourselves why this hasn’t already happened. The civic left has largely allowed Cllr. Bailão (and, to a lesser extent, Mayor Wonderbread, who is merely a pathetic, respectable version of Rob Ford) to go unchallenged because she’s been deemed impossible to beat, but by not challenging her, the civic left has allowed her career to continue essentially unfettered because they don’t want to spend resources on a race they’re unlikely to win. If only there were some other downtown districts where a new, young generation of activists can start to build their careers…except the seats available are full with straight white boy progressives.

Why does the civic left protect Gord Perks, Joe Cressy and Mike Layton? Like…honestly…I just don't see what the big deal about Joe Cressy is. He bumped Ausma Malik out of the 2018 election instead of doing the right thing and making way for a supremely talented racialized woman like I'd hope someone committed to true justice would. There is even a movement in the democratic party to ask white men to not run in safe seats. [This paragraph and the next have been edited for tone, thank you to Colin Burns for encouraging me to rethink my words and my misdirected anger, my frustration naturally lies with Cllr. Bailāo's behaviour.]

Gord Perks verged into alt-left territory last year as a free-speech absolutist and consequently an apologist for bigotry when he should have defended trans folk. He even shared his disappointing thoughts publicly (yup, he did, they’re still up, don’t @ me on this one, you’ll regret it: http://gordperks.ca/toronto-public-library-chief-librarians-decision/) so considering who he seems to be, we can do better after 14 years? (TL;DR – there’s need for renewal in a lot of parts of our movements, and the labour movement is no exception.)

Mike Layton is a lovely man with his heart in the right place. I’ve volunteered for him and would gladly do it again. It therefore pains me to recognize that his last name is more than a name. I’m happy for everything he (and his team) has contributed in a rapidly changing district. My concern is that lefties can’t afford to support dynasties in the same way that liberals and conservatives can, especially in downtown districts where our odds of winning are good and where we ought to be supporting talented Black, Trans, Indigenous, disAbled and economically-disadvantaged candidates that are already on the front lines of social change. (This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.) By the time of the next election, Mike Layton will have been there for 12 years. Perhaps it’s time for him to open an opportunity for others.

3. WE

Who is “we”? Is it people in this district? Is it people in Toronto? Is it progressives? Whoever can identify this “we” and mobilize them will have the best shot of defeating her. This is the “coalition” people describe as needed to win election. Of course, this includes whoever’s running for office and their team. That organizing work needs to start right now if there’s going to be any chance of a lefty winning this seat in 2022. (If you think she isn’t already considering her council seat successor, remember that her old boss was Mario Silva, who was *coincidentally* Davenport’s City Councillor and MP for a combined 16 years.)

4. NOT MAKE HER

This is maybe the biggest hurdle to get over since “NOT ANA BAILAO” is not an option on the ballot. Considering there are no formal (lol) parties or slates on council, her name recognition is her biggest electoral asset, so a keep-it-safe campaign won’t work. Plus her public image is fairly non-toxic, so as pissed off as we all are, most people won’t be swayed by a STOP BAILAO campaign from the left (the trope of the conservative woman can be very powerful – thanks Maggie – so expect her campaign to lean pretty typically right).

When we say “Cllr. Bailão should not be Mayor” we rob ourselves of the ability to say “I think this person would make a great mayor” or “these are the some of the values I want in a mayor.” – and I don’t mean just of the City Council types. (At this point, Josh Marlow is the other councilor to watch.)

I hate hearing “why can’t we have AOC or Jacinta Arden or Anne Hidalgo or Ilhan Omar?” They didn’t come out of thin air. We already have those people here, we just haven’t elevated them to where they can make a difference and this is why. (Also, lefties, let’s seriously push for term limits and ranked ballots…especially the term limits, most ppl out there love the idea, it costs zero dollars and ensures districts have a healthy amount of turnover.)

5. MAYOR

Toronto City Council is a “weak mayor” system. The Mayor need council approval for pretty much everything important. The Mayor will find success or failure on how well he can build a team of reliable allies on council. It’s something thing Mayor Wonderbread does too well: his allies don’t offer a lot of different views. A hypothetical Mayor Bailão would probably do similar.

So then how rigid should a politician be? Are they supposed to be trustees, where we trust them to do what’s best for us and we have a check-in every 4 years? Or are they supposed to be conduits of public opinion with little regard for context? Or is a councillor meant to reflect the demographics of their district, even though they can only truly embody one set of lived experiences as an individual? Or perhaps, in the case of Cllr. Bailão, someone not dedicated to steering the ship but merely running the engine, not caring where it sails even though we've seen icebergs on the horizon? We’ve grown up in a SimCity generation where we think the mayor can make whatever they want happen. As great as that might sound sometimes, in a democracy, accountability matters. But it must come with a recognition that SimCity mayors don't fear the wrath of the voters.

I want to recognize that a 10% reallocation is fucking pathetic and still Toronto council couldn’t do it…but at least we know where we stand, and with whom.

We often look at politics as a sport or a soap opera, and it feels great when your team scores points or your favourite character delivers a knockout performance. Even I was like “dang girl” when Nancy Pelosi defiantly ripped up the President’s speech. I was also touched by Jagmeet Singh’s touching display of emotion the day after he was ejected from the House of Commons for calling out bigotry. But that’s not politics, that’s a long running TV drama series, so as disappointed as I am in what happened, I’m not gonna yell at her in the street because White Man Raging is not a great look these days…or ever.

So let’s not make this about my neighbour, Cllr. Ana Bailão. Let’s make it about the system of oppression she has willingly chosen to uphold and tearing that motherfucker down piece by piece.

Ah Sweet, Drewie. This is the best tribal question you have asked me all season. Tbh I don’t cry at movies often in general...but I bawled on my 2nd viewing of Up. I don’t want to get into the details but damn. I was real sad. Not sure if I can watch it again.

Maynor - What obscure Pokemon should be the star of their next animated movie, and what would the story be?

i want to see a movie on Delibird. Have a female shiny amd a normal living in the snowy mountains. Where they are going to have to save xmas because a gengar and an alakasam stole the ice heart from their village. And alakasam n gengar live in a cave up the mountain. So they have to travel up and face some of their hencemen (gastly haunter abra kadabra onix hypno drowzee) while the final battle gengar takes down shiny female delibird and she falls into a cave hole not to be seen ever again. Then normal gets emotional and defeats gengar and alakasam. Looks for shiny deli and cant find her. Goes back to return the heart. Articuno comes in thanking deli and reveals that the shiny deli fell on articuno where it was sleeping.

Stevie - What is the best Emma Stone movie, and why did you pick Easy A?

The best Emma Stone movie is in fact Easy A. First of all, who doesn’t love a good coming of age movie? Especially one shadowing The Scarlet Letter that most people probably had to read in high school. The cast was just great. Penn Badgley? Amanda Bynes pre total meltdown? Aly Michalka? Stanley Tucci? Lisa Kudrow?! ICONIC CAST. And we can’t forget Patricia Clarkson, the reformed slutty mom who brought her husband back to the Hetero life from his stint as a gay man because she is THAT bitch. Their family dynamic was fun to watch in every scene and I needed more of it. “Spell it with your peas!” So she didn’t say “Twat” in front of her little brother is one of my favorite moments. And shortly following the black brother talking about him being adopted and their dad saying “Who told you?!” Is still one of my favorite lines because they are a white family and it’s obvious that they did not have a black baby naturally. Every scene with the family is just filled with jokes and I love it all.

Next we need to talk about Amanda Bynes. The Jesus freak purity cult leader who clearly just needs to get laid. She goes from 0-100 REAL QUICK and down to -100 in a blink of an eye and I feel she did it so well because that’s her in real life. Having a boyfriend that was sleeping with the guidance counselor, who was 22 or something and still in high school, and got chlamydia whilst being in the Jesus purity group was just wild. Honestly thinking in depth about it, this whole movie was just wild. Amanda Bynes’ character was the antagonist that you love to hate and she definitely made the movie.

Seeing Aly Michalka in action again was truly a blessing. The nostalgia of seeing her alone from her Phil of the Future days was enough for me to love her character throughout no matter how much of a stupid bitch she was in the movie when she turned on Olive. Speaking of this, we need to talk about the root of that happening. When Olive gets a card from her grandmother in the mail and it sings “Pocketful of Sunshine” by Natasha Beddingfield. ICONIC SONG. And Emma Stone opens the card and says “ugh I hate this song.” Then proceeds to spend the entire weekend jamming out to the song (FROM THE CARD, NOT DOWNLOADING OR STREAMING) until she wears out the card and it dies. Then she lies and says she visited her older brother at college and lost her V card to a guy at his college. Which I think might be community college? I don’t remember fully. What later on in the movie SENT ME was when her phone rings and her ringtone is Pocketful of Sunshine. I was DEAD.

Most importantly Woodchuck Todd was my favorite storyline. He didn’t believe the sluttiness of Olive because of what she did for him from spin the bottle in 7th grade. I shipped them the whole movie and loved how cheesy all of it was. The most exciting part was the musical number of knock on wood at the end during the basketball game. Stellar performance, so extra, and Emma Stone killed it. So yeah these are all the main reasons why I love this movie and I could easily talk about every single thing that happened and dawn over how much I love it all but I will keep it to these fave scenes.

La La Land was a great movie but this was just so entertaining and funny and a great story. And honestly all of it was a bit ridiculous but not too ridiculous that it went to far. It was the right level. Another honorable mention would be Crazy, Stupid Love because that was also a stellar cast, really funny, and overall just great. Had a great reveal in the end. Easy A was just one of the most memorable movies I’ve seen and I love it equally as much, if not more, every time I see it. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk

A Big Announcement

"Dakota, I don't think it's a good idea, maybe I should turn back and get ready for Colin's movie."  Eva kinda of protested stopping her walking steps and stood there with a total confusion look readable on her face.  The fact that she would be missing on purpose Colin's movie premiere was striking in her mind.  She has made him a promise and failing at such was clearly not her habit.  

"Drling liste, we had this conversation quiet earlier, we are in Cannes, fucking Cannes baby and Cannes was also created to have fun and not only to behave with cinematographic duties, you sent him a text message telling Colin you were sick and he believed you, so for now forget about this and look we are a few steps ahead of the biggest night in Cannes, relax and have fun my love." Dakota seized her friend's arm and pulled her towards way forcing Eva to follow her steps.  This one couldn't really protest and just answered with a deep sigh.  

"Ok but if he ever comes to find out that I lied him, you'll have to bear the entire responsibility for that, are we clear on that?" This one said with a little tint of agressiveness in her voice tone.  Eva herself got lost into her concern she felt for Colin.

"Ok... ok if it has to be so it'll be and I will take the full responsibility, I promise, but now let's rock into that party and get us some hot males on board." Dakota said with the rejoice of an excited teenager as they reached the Armani's yacht, the biggest and longest one of Cannes' pier.

"OMG Paris Hilton is there.., how the fuck sjr got invited, as I know she's not friend with Leo!" Eva mumbled in annoyed face.

"It's Paris and she can get invited anywhere without being invited." Dakota replied with sarcasm as both of the girls stepped on board of the luxurious yatch.

As they appeared to the others guests, almost every of the men present on the deck couldn't get their eyes off Eva.  Even the men that were accompanied of their wives or girlfriend.  Eva was one of those type of beauty that men couldn't resist to.  This one tried to keep her coolness even though this wasn't an easy mission.  She seized DakotA's arm as if it was her safe boat forcing her to step to the first floor deck. The boat was beautifully decorated to a theme party with silver and white balloons everywhere, silver twinkle lights, silver coated patisseries and much more of petits-fours displayed on every tables, not to forget customized swaroski crystals bottles of Moët et Chandron champagne.  Eva observed each of the details the organizers put in the decorations, it should have been a meticulous job.  "What is that?" She asked to herself.

"Any idea of what is going on here?" Eva asked her friend.

"Holy fuck yeah...look to your left, look who's here?"

"Who?" Eva said looking to her left with a stupefied look on her face.  "OMG shit, Amber Heard with Gabriel Macht!" She burst out.  The kind of burst out which caught a little of attention from her pals, briefly as they turned back to their conversations.

"Do you think as I?" Dakota asked

"Ehhhm I don't know what to say maybe they just friends." Eva shrugged her shoulders.   Interfering into other's business never been her cup of tea.  She respected privacy and expected the same favor towards her private life.

"Oh come Eva, don't pretend to be that foolish, did you already see Amber bitch Heard hanging with a guy if it's anything else apart being banged up?"

"Isn't Gabriel in a relation with that model Petra Nemcova?" Eva frowned her eyebrows as her gaze stayed focussed on the pair sitting closely to touch on the sofa.

"As far as I know yeah, they've been dating for almost a year, gosh I'm pretty sure that slut did something to get him into her web.... and I can't blame her, Macht is a piece of fine ass." Dakota answered sarcastically.

"Hmmm..." Eva said as she sipped on the flute of champage she grabbed from the waiter.

"What hmmmm, won't you admit that Gabriel Macht is fine as vine?"

"I never said he wasn't, for sure he's hot as hell..and that smile"

"And...??" Dakota shot back with a weird gaze at her friend.

"And nothing..."

"Maybe I should use my savage side and investigater further more on that case." Dakota winked an eye.

"No, you not doing anything Dakota, it's their business, not our's alright!"

"I'm pretty sure she is the reason between Gabriel and Petra break up!"

"We don't even know is they broke up!!"

"Gabriel is very private concerning his life, don't you think he would have come here with the bitch and get photographed by hundreth of paparazzis and to put at risk his relation just like that!!"

"I don't know and I don't wanna know!!"

"But I want to know nada!!"

"Ladies and gentlemen, you are requested at the main living room, all of you, come down to the main living room please!" The voice of dj Martin Garrix echoed through the speakers.

"Let's go, because this time I really want to know what this party is for!" Eva exclaimed as both followed the rest of the celebrities downstairs.

"Hey, Eva..." A guy spoke enough loudly so Eva could notice him, this one stopped and looked behind.

"Scott, hey you, how did you get in?" Eva sarcastically asked as she knew that Leo and this guys Scott Elrod weren't that close friends.

"I sneaked in behind Toby Maguire when this one got in the boat, he didn't even notice it stupid spider-man."  Scott's attempt to compose a joke seemed a failure to Eva as this one gave him a look of somebody fully taken aback by a nasty comment.

"Oh I see.." She simply replied as a parade.

"Hey what about to get a drink after this eagerly awaiting announcement is done?"

"Yeah, sure..." Eva vaguely answered as she walked at fastened steps to reach Dakota that had secured seats for them.  But what Eva missed was the nasty look Scott gave her when she turned back, it didn't seem to be someone with good intentions.

Excitement could be seen and heard between the guests discussions, what was the so important celebration for, it was about to get reveled as Leonardo appeared to them, with a radiant smiling face, you could tell he was happy.

"Ladies, gentlemen, friends, relatives, mom [He smiled to his mom who was sitting opposite to Eva and Dakota] if you are gathered tonight, it is for a very special reason, because I love each one of you, and I wanted to make this announcement big... as you know my personal life has been over and over again exposed to the public.  Sometimes I made the wrong choice, sometimes I wasn't lucky, sometimes I was too picky, sometimes I was fucked up which ended in dramatic conditions, but today, this part of my life came up tp a drastic change, and I never thought I'd be this happy again... and it's all because of one person, she's here tonight with us, I want you guys to know that she made me a better man, she's my everything, I love her passionately, and we decided to keep going that way, for good, she is my friend, my woman and my wife to be, please give my girl Rih the warmest of the welcome she deserves!"

Everyone present was nicely surprised by his revelation as they stood an ovation for the one and only Rihanna.  No one saw it coming, not a hint, nothing.  There Rihanna walked to reach Leonardo, even her manner of walking was alluring, she walked like a goddess, dressed in a red bordeaux velvet dress, a pure queen.  It was all said, Leonardo DiCaprio and Rihanna was the couple of this century. Leonardo starred at her  in a way like that every girl wanted to be looked at.  His eyes were sparkling with love and so hers.  

Eva was still stumped at that news.  She starred at the couple hugging cutely and then looked again at her friend Dakota.  

"OMG..." was only that came out of her mouth.

"Eva, if you're gonna tell me you were in the unknown of this, I'll push you into the swimming pool!"

"No need to because I was unaware of that detail!"

"Stop lying or you'll go to hell girl!!"

"I'm not I told you"

"You're among his best friends, how don't you know that?" Dakota kept questionning her friend.

"We all have a private life I guess, and I think it was too cute to have kept this just for them!"

"Anyway, I guess we'll get the honor to attend the biggest wedding of the century."

"Who said you going to get invited?" Eva goofed.

"Oh shut up  you... ok all that emotions opened my thirst, I need a drink, come with me to the bar?"

"Yes sure, just give me a second please."

"Ok love."

Eva sat for a few more seconds, her mind constantly tormenting her about Colin and the fact that she missed his premiere.  He had trusted in her because she made him the promise she wouldn't miss that moment, because it was Cannes, and when you were having your movie played at night it was such a sort of royal privilege.  Her hand reached her iPhone in her blue clutch, hastily unlocked the screen and pressed instantly the message icon on the screen.  

As the message was sent she stood up from the white leather sofa still with that guilt stuck on her chest.

She made her way to the bar where three hot barmen was on duty, of course she noticed them.   Maybe she was single but was allowed to please her eyes and brain.  She looked out for her friend Dakota, but no sight of her.  "Where the fuck is she?" She mumbled between her teeth as she kept at looking  for her friend at every direction.

"Hey beautiful Eva, I was looking for you, I hope you didn't forget our drink.?" Scott's voice could be heard.  "Oh shit please no!!" Her heart spoke for hersef.  

"No I didn't..." She said with a forced smile and forced to be pleasant.

"So this is for you, a martini Blanco, your favorite if my mind is good." He smiled.

"Woooow, seems you learned your lesson about me." She shot back with a tint of sarcasms.

"Not really, but I know it is a ladies drink, I just guess it was."  He replied as they both cheered.    Eva drank a sip of the delicious drink as she starred at her opposite direction still trying to sport her friend.

"Hahah, you are a true ladies man I guess then."  She winked.

"Hmmm nah, not with every ladies, with the best and prettiest only."  He sipped on his glass with an eye wink.  

"Is he flirting.."  Eva spoke to herself while drinking another sip of her drink.

"Oh woooow, I'm flattered."  She said in a courteous manner.  Eva was trying to do everything she could to be the  less responsive to his flirting attempts.

"Don't be, I'm sure you're used to this, men fall easily for gorgeous women like you Eva."

"Oh shit, yes he is flirting, WTF, find an excuse to escape girl, NOW!" Her mind kept telling her. She sipped again on her glass until she felt something wrong, she felt dizzy with palpitations.  

"Aren't you feeling hot?" She asked.

"No, the air conditioners must be at their lowest of the temperatures, what, are you okay?" He asked with concern.

"I don't know, I feel weird, I feel dizzy, and ... I don't know.." She said as she lose her balance.  Scott grabbed her quickly enough otherwise she would have fell down.

"Ok, you definitely not, maybe we should go outside for some fresh air, you'll feel better."  He said as he passed his arm around her waist to give her some support.

"No, No... I need to go to the restroom..."  She barely could spoke.  Eva felt the ground swallowing her, her feet were weak as if she was suffering a hay fever, she knew something was wrong.  

"Ok, I'm going to bring you to the restroom, you can put some fresh water on your face will help."  Scott said as he guided Eva on tiny pace steps, she could barely walk.

"What is happening, what did you put in my drink, asshole..."

"Eva, I think your mind is playing you tricks sweetheart..."  He smiled with a satisfied grin.

"Ok... "  She said but was unnoticeable to him.

"There you are, you want me to go in with you, I don't want you to hurt yourself."

"N....No, I just want to put water on my face..." She said and used the last string of energy to get inside the restroom.  Inside, she leaned her body against the cold refreshing marbled wall and tried to compose herself, but she felt worse, feeling she would puke anytime.  She let her body to lay down, feeling her heart pounding hastily against her chest.  As a reflect, she tried to reach her clutch to grab her phone but couldn't.

"OMG, are you okay?" She heard a voice, a voice that sounded familiar to her but couldn't think out properly of who it was.

"I..I..."

"Tell me what's wrong..."

"I don't know."

"You clearly looked like you have been drugged, who did that to you..." Amber asked as she helped Eva to sit against the wall.

"There... the.. a guy outside..." Eva barely spoke as Amber used a toilet towel to put some fresh water on Eva's face.

"Ok, he's there outside... wait, I'm calling a friend he will help us." Amber said as she composed a number on her phone screen.

"Call Dakota please.." Eva begged.

"Ok, first we'll need help...Yes Gabriel, please can you come inside ladies restroom, there is a problem here."

"Don't worry Eva you're safe." Amber spoke with a reassured voice tone.

"Please call her, Dakota..."

"Ehmm yes... ok..." Amber said as she seized Eva's phone from her clutch and looked up for Dakota's number.  "Dakota, I'm calling you on Eva's request, we are at the ladies restroom and she is not doing so well, hurry and come please!"

"Thank you..."

"You don't have to Eva.." Amber said as she kept cleaning Eva's face,  

"Amber... what is wrong here..." A strong voice was heard, as Gabriel made his way inside.

"I think she got drugged, look at her, poor girl, if I wasn't there, I can not even imagine what could have happened to her, she's totally wasted."

"Yeah I can see that... did you call her friends or something.." Gabriel said as he sat down too.

"Yeah, Dakota will be there soon."

"There is that tall guy waiting outside... is that him who did that to her?"

"Scott..." Eva murmured.

"OH MY GOD, Eva, baby, sweetheart..." Dakota said horrified as she erupted in the restroom.

"She was drugged by a guy named Scott and he's waiting outside..." Gabriel said

"What, which guy  there is no guy here." Dakota answered as she held Eva's face in her hands.

"He must have gone then, he knew he has been busted, what an asshole." Gabriel replied.

"Okay, thank you guys for having take care of her, but I'm here now and I'm bringinh her back to the hotel... Oh Amber thank you so much, if you hadn't been here, I don't know what would have happened."

"You're welcome Dakota, but how are you gonna bring her back to to the hotel... maybe we can help though."

"Hmmm yes, maybe Gabriel can help me to bring her out of here, and I have a friend who's awaiting for me outside."

"Yes, sure..."  Both him and Dakota grabbed Eva and placed both of her arms on their shoulders. Eva her, was almost unconscious of what was going on around her.  

"Thank you guys, thank you so much." Dakota sincerely spoke out.

"Just let us know if she;s okay right." Gabriel said as they walked out of the restroom.

"Eva will,." Dakota replied.

They get about a thousand tips a day. Police were called to his home at least 20 times. Scott Peterson, a deputy with a gun who was there to help prevent this did nothing. There is a lot of blame to go around.** This isn’t the first time that authority has dropped the ball. What is with all the incompetence? Patty Hearst’s name was on a list of people the SLA wanted to kidnap and nobody told her. Priests are simply moved around after they are found to be child molesters. Police who have been given warnings about racism and excessive force are left on the job. Domestic violence gets a slap on the wrist until they kill the family. ***** A complaint from whistleblower Helen Foster says that Cindy Carson, Ben’s wife pressured officials for big money to redecorate. $31,000 of taxpayer money was spent on a dining room set for Ben’s office. Federal law requires congressional approval to furnish or redecorate if costs exceed 5 thousand bucks. When Foster refused to comply she was demoted and transferred. The Department of housing and urban development has cut money for the homeless, the elderly and the poor.

*****CNN’s The Radical story of patty Hearst is great. This is a story which will never go away and this is full of all the flashpoints. I am a bit sickened to listen to Bill Harris tell his story. He acts like he telling some cool story from a high school party or something as he tells of his role in the kidnapping and brainwashing of a woman. He looks so comfy and satisfied with himself.
