When Ellery found Rosalind, she looked… well, nearly the same as the last time it’d seen her. Her clothing, though somewhat haggard, wasn’t in the worst condition. Although, her hoodie had a very familiar, nearly sickening logo embroidered onto the front. Two Fs, in a circle, surrounded by plants. Ellery knew what it meant. So did Rosalind.

Rosalind’s face, which had been so scrutinizing and fearful just moments earlier as she sidestepped a crowd, broke into a grin at the sight of Ellery. She took a few tentative steps forward, as if not sure if she was seeing a mirage or her actual friend.

“Ellery?” Her voice was quiet and timid, broken. None of the strength and vindictive, righteous anger that Ellery was used to hearing.
