Fun Fact
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contained 60 sites of terrorism, extremism, and pornography in 2015.
Criston Cole is a knight of common birth in a medieval, feudalist world who rose to the highest position a knight could hold in the realm, who was pressured into sex with the member of the royal family directly responsible for his position as Kingsguard, resulting in him almost ending his life out of guilt for breaking his vow.
Alicent Hightower is a grown up child bride to an older king who was forced to perform her duties no matter the hour, who visibly disassociated during the act, who never had the luxury of thinking of her own desires at any point in her life, who birthed and raised her babies while still a child herself.
I would ask this show to explore how these two individuals overcame their sexual trauma and ingrained beliefs about duty and sex to start an extremely active sexual relationship but I know deep down that this is as far as the writers want to go with these characters in relation to this pairing:
Every time Cale uses an ancient power and then gets confused when people react in worry I laugh and want to shake him because Cale, CALE YOU NEVER EXPLAIN WHY YOU'RE VOMITING BLOOD.
And here's the thing, vomitting blood, regardles of colour is a sign of serious internal problems, and you know what signs and symptoms you should definitely watch out for afterwards?
Dizziness, especially after standing.
Rapid, shallow breathing.
Or other signs of shock.
So everyone around him makes the very valid assumption the Cale using an ancient power = severe internal bleeding and then Cale goes and usually displays some symptoms of shock (I.E shaky limbs, dizziness, weakness in limbs) and just never explains that he's actually fine. Instead, he tries to get up and keep moving unless he's already fainted.
OF COURSE THEY'RE FREAKING OUT CALE! They think you need serious medical attention and you keep refusing to see a healer or a doctor! (Yes we know you don't want them figuring out how many powers you have and that they can't do anything anyways, but your friends don't!)
Since we don't see what the others are doing every time Cale falls into a coma as a response, I imagine that they're all frantic, trying to figure out what went wrong, how injured he is and how to get him the proper medical care. And then Cale wakes up and is just confused as to why they made it such a big deal.
Like Cale, please, for at least the first few times, they probably thought you were DYING.
I didn't edit this and no you are not hallucinating, I swear. Google it.
Oh man oh man I can't wait for the upcoming Season 2 episode where Charlie gets into a scandalous love triangle between his supportive yet plain girlfriend and his zesty, lowkey seductive and easily jealous co-worker Pim while Alan has to rely on Glep and Dj Spitz to clear his name after the former gets framed for the murder of Mr. Boss all while the three are left taking care of his orphaned son! OH MOTHER THE SUSPENSE!! This drama bomb will be the episode to end all episodes!! 🔥🔥🔥💯❤️🔥💋💥 (/jk I wish that was an episode)
John's Passion narrative has a never-ending fascination for me, because it's where you get Jesus at his most divine--knowing everything that was going to happen, making the guards fall to their faces when he speaks the name of God--while the people around him are at their most human.
There's an entire political drama going on. Pilate the Roman pagan getting dragged into this provincial Jewish religious dispute. These Jewish leaders and Jesus providing different visions of truth to a politician who doesn't care what the truth is. There's extremely sharp political back-and-forth between the Roman and the Jewish authorities--the Pharisees trying to force Pilate's hand by saying that everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar, then Pilate backing them into proclaiming Caesar as their king and twisting the knife of pettiness by labeling Jesus as the Jewish king in four different languages while He hangs on the cross.
Petty, personal, political human drama taking up all their attention.
i was thinking. since duncan has been to juvie and gotten in trouble with the law multiple times so its natural to assume hes been tazed before. at the very least hes been threatened to be tazed so naturally hed be traumatized by it so alejandro uses it to his advantage <3
Some more lore on the Naga. According to Thai/Buddhist belief, the Naga are divided into 4 major/royal families. The Gold Serpents are called Virupaksa. They're considered to be the highest class of Naga and are said to be worshipped as gods. In the series, Wanwisa, Tharn's sister in his previous incarnation, is a member of this family, but in the novel Chalothorn was a Virupaksa and lord of the most eminent royal Naga family.
The Green Serpents are members of the Erapatha family. They possess wealth and merit and are only second to the Virupaksa in status. Wansarat/Tharn is the most recognizable member of this family and it's interesting to note that Green Serpents often cross over to the human world, resulting in interspecies relationships with humans (think Tharn disguising himself as a human man and falling in love with the Garuda prince in episode 3).
Next in line are the Rainbow Serpents called Chabbayaputta. They're next in line among the royal Naga families, but tend to live in solitude so they're rarely ever seen. I'm not sure if there will be a member of this family in the series.
Last but definitely not least of the royal Naga families are the Black Serpents called Kanhagotama. They're of lesser status than the other royal Naga families, but they're physically the largest in size and tend to hibernate for long periods of time. In the novel Chalothorn was a Gold Serpent, but in the show he's a Black Serpent and chief of the Kanhagotama family. It's not a coincidence that his Naga form is massive in size and seems to be lurking in the shadows until he senses a major threat to his affection for Tharn.
