#TipTuesday Do you guys ever decide you want to stay off social media/the internet for a while and 2 minutes later you realize you’ve already picked up your phone and are scrolling thru your feed? This happens to me all the time! This is incredibly simple but it works. Put a rubber band around your phone and every time you go to reach for your phone you’ll be reminded to stay off it. I especially like to do this when I need to meet some deadline and don’t want to get distracted. You can also use a scrunchy or a string. Whatever you have. Poor Man’s Back-Up Camera . Since getting my @xventuretrailers XV-2 Severe Duty off-road trailer from the great guys at @exploration_outfitters (who now sell the @patriot.campers) and hauling it all around America over the last year, I’ve gotten really quite good at backing up using only my side mirrors to line everything up properly. . There are times, though, like when unhooking at an angle or slight slope, I know a guide or marked spot will help. . Whether straight back or not now, I’ve gotten in the habit of setting a wheel chock behind the rear wheel of the van on the driver’s side before unhooking and pulling away from the trailer. Swipe for the pic. . Then I know I can back up to that spot when ready to hook up and go, and be as close as can be to just lowering the tongue and #maxcoupler in place and hooking up. The original Max Coupler came with the trailer. I added the flared vehicle side upgrade to the coupler last Spring. Got mine at @knightoffroadtrailer in McAllen TX. . I often stake down the chock so it doesn’t get kicked or moved out of place while camping. It ends up being a good marker to center over, too, when backing up the van to the awning the way I like so my doors open in line to my kitchen area. . I have a back up camera to install; just never got around to it. I may install it someday, more for being able to watch my trailer and canoe etc while driving. . Of course, I’ll probably get lazy and use it for backing up to the trailer, too. . How I Replaced the Insoles on My Favorite Flats

I have this one pair of flats that are my favorite! They go with the fancy dresses and casual outfits plus they are easy to slip on and off. There was only one problem the insoles started coming out of one of the shoes. So I did my research and I found two real options I could throw them out and get new ones or I could take them to a Shoe doctor. Well I can't seem to find these shoes anywhere for a decent price (80 bucks for flats! Oh Hell NO!), and I couldn't bring myself to pay someone to fix them more than what I paid for the flats in the first place! So I brainstormed and this is what I came up with.

I replaced the insoles myself! Here is how I did it.

This is what I used.

Dr. Scholl's memory fit insoles

E6000 Glue

Scissors

A marker

This is what the insoles looked like before. It had scrunched up around my toes.

I tore out the old insoles on both shoes. Using the scissors to scrap away what fluff was left from the old insoles.

I took the old insoles and used it to measure out the new insoles tracing it onto the Dr.Scholl’s insoles.

Then I cut along my lines.

I covered it in glue and folded it like a taco to keep it from touching the walls of my flats as I put it in I pressed it down with my finger making sure there would not be any lumps.

The I added glue around the edges so that it wouldn't come up like the old insoles. I pressed it all down again. Than for good measure I put them on. they felt great like a new pair of shoes!

Frustrated, I went to the neighbouring @truevalueph hardware store, bought a ₽119.75 @pioneermightybond, smeared a little droplet of the instant glue on the tail end of the temple, slid it into the hinge, and let it dry for an hour. Fixed! That simple! It’s now as strong as falling head over heels in love with you! 😂❤️😍 Engineering. You gotta love it.
