Huge English Farm

Hello! This time i build an English inspred Farm House in Henford-on-Bagley. I had a lot of fun with building this and wanna to build something like this for a long time. This house has 4 bedroom's and an Attic and 2 Bathroom's. Next to the house is a Stable with place for 4 horses and a small guest house or hobby room you can decide what you will do with this space. There is a whey for the cow's, horses, sheeps and lambs. And on the otherside is a chicken coop. And a backyard where you can relax and enjoy the view. I hope you like it!

WIP: Untitled OFB Sales Kit1

Published: 7-21-2023 | Updated: 9-22-2023 100+ posters, tags, packages, and signs to organize sale items on your commercial lots. These objects were designed for simmers who play with lots of useable/sellable items, as well as multiple food, farming, and crafting mods.

You’ll be able to separate edibles, harvestables, ingredients, etc. from deco stuff (more on the process later). Labels will be color-coded in Simlish and English to make sorting objects by function easier (i.e. cook, drink, eat, grow, garden, harvest, make, craft, stock, use, view). The set will include multiple currency labels from the simsverse – simoleons, magicoin, neosimoleons, etc.

Of course, you can simply use them to gussy up your business too! This project will likely be published as multiple sets.

ahhh thank you so much!! i’m actually going to do maggie for this just to switch it up a bit i hope that’s okay!!

1. i said this in the first post that i made of her but one of her favourite animals are bears!! cows are a close second (she has a brown cow on her farm who she adores)

2. in my head she has a southern accent. i’m not sure why it just makes the most sense to me so we’re rolling with it! i also imagine she’s not originally from henford on bagley and she moved there when she was about 20 because she has the animal enthusiast trait and so she’d always dreamed of having her own farm with a ton of animals !

3. she has a dog called doobie (who be introduced in a future post) and he’s an old english sheep dog!

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for?  

I’m loving 1800-1900 right now but i really love the fashion of 1700-1800.

Glimmerbrook and Newcrest, i love the woods of glimmerbrook but just aren’t enough lots.

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused?  

i’m a gameplay blog, yes there is a story but i don’t write it out my writting skills in english just aren’t strong enough, i’m  fluent in english but i have dyslexia so writting is a struggle.

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves?  

I try to, but honestly they’re so annoying to deal with.  Like why are you running away?? you have food, pets all the time and there is always somebody on the lot.

7. What’s your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game?  

NPCs.... I delete them, if they’re lucky they get an outfit pasted

8. What’s your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB)  

The Vampires gamepack. I always use cc for everything but there are some good pieces in that pack

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game?  

right now not a lot i would just love it if they fixed all the buggs. one of my sims was aged up from toddler to child with a dirty diaper she is now a teen and the stink is still following her.

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer?  

Cottage Living. The farming part. Even if all my chickens want to leave.

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay?  

There’s so many, but i love  Regency Romance.

I play on the grid, there are to many things that need to be.

normal/custom lifespan settings! infant is 5days toddler is 15days child is 15days teen is 35days youngadult is 30days adult is 25days elder is 15days. this is just what works for me.

17. What inspired you to start playing a historically?  

I started in fantasy gameplay. i started watching historical movies and series and the fantasy part started fading out.

I picture you living in an idyllic pastoral English village. like in sims4: cottage living

I mean now I live in a flat in a town. but when I lived at home w my dad it was in a small pastoral village and I worked on a farm (gift shop and tearoom not .. manual labour).

I definitely like the countryside lmao I find cities stressful and they are places to visit / pass thru. Residing in one with no access to a view without a skyscraper... scary... please build me a little cottage in sims 4 and let me live in it

Okay, I'm... confused? Because I noticed some things I've played are updating / have updated recently and some are really unexpected. For the record: increasing order of surprise.

Secrets of Grindea: 1.01a (2024) - Purchased 2015. No I don't remember the first time I tried the demo but I'm really excited to see it got released I think I first saw it around the same time as CrossCode's older demos. The updates for Grindea were slow but steady, but yeeees. SNES style Action-Adventure with bullet curtain (lite) bosses and lots of extra sidequests and hidden things.

Stardew Valley: 1.6.1 (2024) - Purchased 2016. I thought it was done updating in 2021 but huh. ... I don't remember the last time I really played this. Probably 2018? To be fair I don't often play Harvest Moon style farming sims but hey cool news.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4: v3 update (v2 in 2021 was Beta opt-in mode so I completely missed it) - Released 2014. I remember 3 more clearly than 4 but this is going to be sweet. I want to say "oldschool flash game series" but it was closer to mid/late Flash? But with 3 (which is FREE by the way) they went from pure battle runs to a more general JRPG setup with an overworld and sidequests and everything.

SWR JST DX Selective Memory Erase Effect: New engine... and new name "Selective Jump: Once Again With Feeling". 2015 to 2024. ... I legit don't remember this one. Apparently it's a platformer.

100% Orange Juice: Apparently still updating? About 10 years running (English, came out 2009 in Japan so 15 years) and good lord that's a lot of character pack DLC. If you've never played it, think a digital board game like shoujo anime Mario Party (minus minigames but with card-based combat).

And the ultimate surprise of what I've seen:

Toribash: It was put on Steam (free) in 2014, but I remember playing it via IndieDB before then (it came out 2006 but I know I didn't play it back then). 18 years, holy shit. Toribash is an incremental 3D fighter - basically you slowly changed your ragdoll rock-em-sock-em puppet to fight frame by frame and then you and your opponent got to see how crazy the damage was.

The sims 4 Horse Ranch is coming. Look at the little girl on the horse. I can’t. The miniature sheep and the goats. THE TODDLER WEARING CHAPS. It has also been confirmed (via Steam) that the horses are fully customizable members of the family just like cats and dogs. We will be able to train, as well as care for and breed them. 🥹 This could not have come at a better time for my History Challenge save.

My one complaint remains that EA is too greedy and should not have split the farming/ranching gameplay across two different packs. I already use modded versions of the animals that came with Cottage Living because that pack’s aesthetic was so heavily English Countryside/cottage core inspired and the american west has a very different look. Players asked for a farm pack and what they got was three packs they could sort of glue together to create the farm of their imagination… Maybe. And the fact that we don’t even know if this expansion will tie horses into the veterinary gameplay that came with Cats & Dogs, even though they are going to function as a pet sim is just annoying. I will be seriously peeved if they don’t integrate these two packs.

Why did horses not come in the pets pack like they did in Sims 3 and why was the “Cottage Living” pack not simply just Country Living instead? They could have given us CAS and Build Buy in the English & American style, along with all the farm animals. The end. Instead you have to buy three different packs that the corporation hasn’t thought long enough to integrate together well just to piece together a single farm. It’s annoying AF and part of me wants to protest by simply not buying the pack. But do I look like I am going to pass up on being able to play out my horse girl fantasies? 😂 No. SMH. This damn company has me in a chokehold. I’m just feeling bratty about it.

2. What does your OCs handwriting look like? 

Basically, every kindergarten teachers handwriting ever.

3. What architectural or design aesthetic would best suit them?

Cottage Garden | Lots of flowers, growing your own fruits and veggies...all in a idyllic little cottage.

4. If your OC likes art, talk about which piece they would love best.

Alfred Augustus Glendening Jr | A London painter, Glendening usually painted various scenes of the English countryside. lots of flowers, light spring colours and beautiful Victorian women surrounded by flowers. Her favourite is The First Days of Spring.

5. What character from myth or fairytale best represents them?

Snow White | Although not similar in terms of looks, both her and Elodie are kind and gentle, with a love for animals and nature. She is loved by most that meet her, as she has a generous heart and a tendency to make those who surround her feel loved. Although she isn't as perfect as the princess, both have a collection of traits very similar.

9. If your OC were to imagine their idyllic life (realistically or otherwise) what would it be like?

A small cottage in a small village, surrounded by forests and flowers. Days spent picnics, going for long walks through meadows, failing to bake pies and other goodies with nights spent looking up at the stars with Eli with their doggy Lily curled up next to them

14. Do they have an accent? How do they or others think of it?

Elodie has a slight French accent with some words (especially when angry) as a result of living most of her childhood on a farm in Champs Le Sims. Eli loves teasing her for it, and says it makes her sound cute.

15. What is a common misconception about your OC? (Alternatively, what do people assume about them which is either incorrect or misconstrued?)

Often people believe, usually because she has such a kind demeaner, that she is fragile and needs to be looked after. Elodie is stronger than she looks, maybe not on the outside, but on this inside she is very brave and always willing to fight for what is right, no matter what it might cost her. Although being looked after is not necessarily a bad thing, if it is ever constElodie finds this is usually quite difficult in relationships, as it is usually quite suffocating.

16. What trait do they find most attractive/appealing about others?

Gentleness | People who choose to be more careful, calm, and peaceful. A person who walks through the world with kindness and softness to them.

17. What sort of role do they take on in relationships, either familial, romantic or platonic. i.e. are they a defender, protector, nurturer, etc.

Dee was always the nurturer of the family or friendship group. She would always look after her mum more than she would herself, and is often the parent of a friend group. Although often she finds this a burden (that being, always having other peoples worries and fears on her mind), she has always loved to take care of others and make them feel safe and comforted, even if that meant sacrificing her own needs.

21. What was it about their significant other that made them fall in love with them? Was it a single eye-opening experience or many gestures over time?

slight spoilers for the story that may or may not come so honestly you may as well just read this because it might be the closest we're gonna get. Elodie is very stubborn, often unwilling to accept her emotions, especially when it comes to love. Eli made it very difficult for her, she tried to ignore him, tried to push down her feelings but Eli is one of the most lovable people she has ever met. Truth be told, Elodie fell in love (although not in a romantic way) the first time they met when they were kids. When they met again at university, her anger at him leaving her was fuelled by her unwillingness to be hurt by him again. However, he is one of the most happy and loving person she has ever met, and she realised once and for all she loved him when he was the first person there when [REDACTED] got sick and spent the whole night with her in the hospital bringing her tea and snacks and holding her when she felt like her world was falling apart. She truly loved him then, more than ever, because she knew that he would drop everything to be with her, sacrifice his time just to sit with her and listen.

22. What is some advice or guidance they received that had a big impact on their lives or outlook? Was it a positive or negative impact?

Her mother always told her to be the good in someone's life. To be what makes them smile when they're down, be the shoulder to cry on, hand to hold and a smile when they need one. She has tried to live up to that everyday. Although sometimes she finds it taxing, often listening to peoples problems and issues often more than her own, the reward of making someone feel better or just being there for someone always makes it worth it.

1. are you named after anyone? I am not! Most of my brothers have a middle name after one of my uncles, and my sister shares one with my mom, but my given names come from nowhere as far as I can tell. Very appropriate for a middle child who needed desperately to be unique.

2. when was the last time you cried? I’m pretty sure I cried last week over taking Bun to the vet to be neutered, as I found out late in the game that it was a risky surgery for a rabbit and was really stressed and upset.

3. do you have kids? I do not! I went from assuming I’d have them to worrying I’d have them to kinda wanting them to being satisfied with my lot, which is always the healthiest way to end up. I like kids a lot, though, and always look forward to seeing my niblings.

4. do you use sarcasm? Sometimes, for sure, but I’ve found that I can’t indulge too much - like a lot of things, I can get really carried away with it (major personality flaw). I do enjoy it when it’s well-timed and clever and people aren’t just using it to be jerks, though.

5. what’s the first thing you notice about people? I wouldn’t say there’s just one thing. I’m good with faces, and I pay attention to general appearance, and whatever’s unique or interesting about someone. When I do write, I like appearance to show something about a character, so I guess I’m looking for people’s personality in/through their appearance. It’s not everything, but it is there.

6. what’s your eye color? Blue.

7. scary movies or happy endings? Happy, I’m not into the scary. 

8. any special talents? Apart from getting completely overwhelmed? ...maybe singing. Maybe baking. I haven’t been doing a lot of either lately. I think I’m a fairly good editor, too.

9. where were you born? California, for my sins. (I love it. I miss it. I struggle to leave, and yet!)

10. what are your hobbies? I read, I play D&D and video games (especially farming sims, but I also love a good story). I used to write a lot, but that was through roleplaying and it’s dried up considerably.

11. do you have any pets? So many, and though I don’t claim them all, they’re all underfoot occasionally. Currently living with two dogs, seven cats and a rabbit. Only one dog is truly mine, but a cat and the rabbit have adopted me. None of the animals were my idea. None of this is my fault.

I do like them all, but one cat in particular has turned bully to the cat that likes me most, so he’s on thin ice with me lately.

12. what sports do you play/have played? I’m not really sporty. I joined a softball team in elementary school once, but only went to one practice because I thought the other girls didn’t like me. They probably didn’t do anything in particular, I was just painfully self-conscious. 

13. how tall are you? 5′8/5′9

14. favorite subject in school? Anything literature related was my jam, and in college I took Shakespeare twice, from two different professors. And a Romanticism class, and a speculative fiction class. I took so many English classes I wound up making it my minor, to make them useful.

15. dream job? Part-time employee at a bookstore with a cafe next door that has great sandwiches and non-caffeinated drinks, and buys pastries from a local bakery. All I want is a little work to help give my week structure.
