TS1 PLAYABLE MEGAHOOD

So, I moved in (almost) all Maxis-made families in the same neighborhood for myself and then decided to share this UserData folder with you as well!

I added the extra Maxis families like The Hatfield, The Maximus, The Mashuga, The Snooty and The Jones families to the Neighborhood 1. Some of them I had to recreate in the Create-A-Family and then tune with SimEnchancer 3D (giving them their personalities, biographies and jobs they intended to have) since they couldn't be installed properly in TS1 Complete Collection ver. The only people that I did not add on purpose were that weird Agent household, since I kinda deemed them unsuitable for my personal gameplay.

I had also moved in the Pleasants, Michael Bachelor and the Roomies into the the vacant houses. (3 Sim Lane for the Pleasants, 6 Sim Lane for Michael and 10 Sim Lane for the Roomies Household). I kinda added a little bit too much money for the Pleasants 😅, so they could afford this house in the first place, feel free to tune their wealth in SimEnchancer! Oh, and I also had to rebuild the Hatfield house by myself entirely, since the Mashugas occupy the same lot which was intended for the Hatfield family as well, so it's not 1-by-1 replica but I made sure to make it as close as it possible to the original house! Unfortunately, there's also no iconic house with the red roof in Sim Lane 2, since the Snooty Patooty family occupy this lot.

INSTALLATION

1. Download the UserData folder 2. Go into the C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims folder, or wherever you installed the game. (If you have a 64-bit system, it might be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\The Sims instead) 3. Delete the "UserData" folder if you don't want it, or move it somewhere else if you want to make a backup. 4. Unzip the UserData folder you downloaded. Copy and paste it into the C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims folder.

Not feeling so hot and I'm not going to do anything impulsive at 8PM on a Friday evening but

here is a link to a sfs folder with ALL of my content that's currently only hosted on patreon.

I want to add individual sfs links to the tumblr posts but that's a lot and I'm now regretting never adding alt dl links this whole time... and sorry I don't think the downloads in the sfs folder are in order... it also might be some other things, like fixed meshes or stuff. tbh I just added everything I've made after April 3rd 2023 since that was the last time I uploaded anything to sfs.

I guess while I'm here... I was going to wait until after I finish up the last of my active requests (probably by Monday, I'm almost done) but I desperately need a break from CC. I sent a group message on the 17th to my $4 and $6 patrons encouraging them to cancel, but I know not everybody knows patreon even has dms so maybe you'll see this post and I'll reach out again in the coming days so nobody is wasting their money. I am so immensely burnt out and I need to not create for a while. This is completely my own fault, nobody made me work on CC for 8-10 hours 5 days a week for the last several months and I fully knew it wasn't sustainable ages ago but I kept doing it because it made me feel good, until it didn't. Quite honestly, even before I sent the group message the instant wave of relief I felt just having made the decision to take a break... that caught me off guard but just confirmed I need this. I do feel really awful about it because I feel like I'm letting people down but at the same time I don't want to hate creating which was already happening. That being said, I don't know how long the lull in CC is going to be, and if you're only following me strictly for CC I apologize. As said I am still finishing up one request I still had, I'm about 75% done with that as of this post. But that's gonna be it for a while.

There is a part of me that wants to stop using patreon completely and unpublish my creator page (which is what I'm not going to impulsively do tonight without properly thinking it through...since there are positives like how easy it is to download files and whatnot) but I'd again encourage not only those who joined the $4 and $6 tiers but also the $2 tier to cancel so that you aren't wasting your money. If I did do this I would definitely do the individual sfs links on everything first. I'd not just leave you guys unable to download my stuff.

So, what does that mean for this blog? I'll spare ye, impatient readers, who have already read a lot because I ramble⬇️

Well, as of posting this I still have THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FOUR Strangetown posts in my queue. And I'm not tired of playing that.

I'm looking forward to having an opportunity to do all of the things I've been neglecting. I'm finally going to go through the subfolder within my downloads of everything I'm downloaded the last few months and decide if I wanna keep it in my game or not. And finish default replacing everything. And all my other various little projects I haven't been doing.

Also, I want to start playing Veronaville 😮I've already started downloading lots from kattaty to replace the in-game ones, and I found a cool replacement for the neighborhood map. I am leaning towards making a new sub-blog for this so that you don't have to try and follow Strangetown/LFT posts and Veronaville/ALT posts at the same time. I've only ever played the Veronaville sims for like one day as part of a super failed megahood years ago so I'd like to get to know them.

So basically, I guess I'm a gameplay blog for now? Until I want to create anything again anyways, but I don't know when that will be.

what’s your favorite sims death? I'm gonna go with disease. I like that horribly hilarious coughing and how it spreads to everyone. Fire and hunger are good too, but one is too noisy and destructive and the other one just takes too bloody long :D

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis Match, though I wouldn't say I'm a purist.

Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No. Why would I? If anything I wish there was more body diversity in the game (ts2) as even the 'fat' state looks pretty slim to me.

Do you use move objects? Yes, every time lol.

Favorite mod? ACR - I use this tweaked version by @episims and am very happy with it although it torments me to no end as my sims will not behave

First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? It was The Sims: House Party. I think I was eight. I returned it because I learned that I needed the base game to run it, and my allowance couldn't get me both. But I was able to exchange it for The Sims: Deluxe Edition which was awesome.

Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Live as in give, mostly

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? It's a toss-up between Marama Tuatahi and Maitea Lehenik for me, they had so much character. If I have to choose one I'll go with Maitea because I loved playing her as a hot widow that all the men in town heart-farted over, and her particular style was unique in my little world so far.

Have you made a simself? Yeah, probably a dozen times, in recent memory mostly to test the ts3 and ts4 sim creators. My first sim-self I made as a 13-year old. I made myself as a teenager, my younger sibling as a child and our parents, and I picked romance aspiration for myself, not knowing then what that meant as far as gameplay was concerned. I grew up to marry Darren Dreamer and had an identity crisis when I got a bad memory out of it.

What sims traits do you give yourself? Brooding, Couch potato, Shy, Vegetarian, Frugal

Which is your favorite EA hair color? Uh... Red? Are we talking ts4 colors because I don't mess with that

Favorite EA hair? The store hair that's like a bowl cut

Favorite life stage? Teenagers :D all the drama, none of the boring responsibilities

Are you a builder or are you in it for the game play? In it for the gameplay. I like building but it's always with play in mind :)

Are you a CC creator? No(t yet)

Do you have any simblr friends/a sims squad? No, I don't really know what a sims squad is. I have a friend I used to play sims with, but no one I know irl knows my simblr and I like that.

What’s your favorite game (1,2,3,4)? sims 2 for definite. I've dabbled in ts3 and have a grudging respect for it, 4 not so much, and 2 definitely feels like an upgrade from 1 to me.

Do you have any sims merch? No.

Do you have a youtube for sims? No.

How has your “sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? At first, starting at Christmas 2004, I only wanted to play Veronaville because it was pretty. I later played some in Pleasantview to make my sim self and realize I'm not really a romance sim. Then I would build random half-decent custom worlds for years, gradually discovering cc and sims blogs, and through the latter get inspired to play the premades exclusively for yet more years, experimenting with megahoods and uberhoods. And now I'm all about the test of time challenge, and we'll see how long I'll be able to stick with it.

Who’s your favorite cc creator? @sunmoon-starfactory, all their sets are what's keeping this very restrictive challenge stage the most fun rn

How long have you had a simblr? I started this one in June last year, so a little over a year, but then it took me about six months to actually start posting so lets call it even and say 9 months :P

How do you edit your pictures? Just cropping mostly. I'm dabbling in light exposure because some of my screenshots get hella dark

What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? You know, I just wish they'd kept making expansions for The Sims Medieval. Like you could have a variety pack where you could choose a different map layout, different styles for the different buildings (yes EA, with different facades and floorplans too!) maybe an expansion that let you actually go to The Village and like Tredony and stuff on diplomatic or trade missions and actually see different people and different worlds

Hello mcsm fans it’s me Jayce here!

So if y’all didn’t know I had been in the mcsm community ever since 2015

But, of course lately here and there I started to lose some interest but I’m still into the game itself. Though sadly I miss playing it. Anyhoo! I made the mcsm characters as sims! (no radar :( I didn’t have time to make him)

It consists of

Jesse and Jessie (twins. Jessie is the one In the red shirt), Petra, Lukas, Axel, and Olivia!

Anyways I have the mod ACR and oh boy. Jessie, would not stop kissing or flirting with Lukas and Petra and Jesse done the same way with Lukas

lord help me as ACR will drive me crazy

But they’ll be featured in my main blog which is Jace The Gaymer but, their Megahood turn won’t be for a while as they live in Pleasantview and I’m currently in Strangetown.

Anyways, probably what y’all are asking me is

Will this be the new mcsm ask blog?

Sims 2 will be like a dream sequence or some sorts. Not sure. Also I had not played sims 4 in a long while but I can reassure you, it’ll come soon.

Spring half-time gaming update

Spring games:

The Sims 4 - working on megahood, slower than I anticipated, finished making over Strangetown

Storyteller - finished

Two Point Hospital - got two stars for two hospitals from Close Encounters DLC

Other games:

Tried both Hundred Days - Winemaking Simulator and Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion - I didn't enjoy them so they got uninstalled, got them from epic as free games so no money lost

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalle - bought it during pre-release sale because it included Cherished Keepsakes DLC for free

Sims 4 Generationennachbarschaft

Neben der "Megahood" mit allen Maxis-Haushalten, möchte ich auch meine eigenen Sprösslinge hier zeigen. Dieser Post dient als Platzhalter für eine eventuelle spätere Übersicht. (Kapitel, Regeln, Mods etc.) Meine Nachbarschaft in Sims 4 hat (bisher) keinen Namen. Leider gibt mir Sims 4 (ganz hoffentlich bleibt das bei einem bisher) nicht die Vibes, dass ich eine komplett eigene Nachbarschaft erstelle. Ich finde, dass konnte man in den anderen Teilen viel besser individualisieren. Aber auf Dauer möchte ich sie natürlich so weit es geht verändern und an mein Gameplay anpassen.

So, I’ve been having a Problem of continually switching to new Sims 2 games. Which is fine, except I keep failing to come back to the ones I’ve already started. Part of it is frustration over certain CC collections causing constant crashes, part of it is limited time causing me to lose momentum on what I was thinking about at work, part of it is probably just ADHD.

So what I’m gonna do right now is list all the games/hoods I have started and feel are in progress (as opposed to ones I am never going back to), plus ones I am planning. This is mainly for sorting out my thoughts and focus, but it’s fine if anybody else wants to look or ask me questions.

Modern Downloads Folder

1. Megahood Classic. This is an Ubermegahood I started around 2020, called a Megahood out of habit. For a while this folder had an older set of mods, not including things like traits and supernatural lifestates, but currently the only thing that distinguishes it is a lack of Proportionate Aging. It’s… slightly far along, for a megahood—most of the premade elders are dead and most of the premade teens are graduating college. It slowed down a bit because I had the aging mod installed for a while before deciding to remove it. And I had no plans to use new supernatural lifestates or traits in this megahood.

2. The Orphanarium. This is multiple instances of the Orphan Challenge played in the same hood, using deaged versions of characters from many of my favorite media, such as FF7 and Stargate. This is a type of hood I have played many times over the years, but this particular version I was just starting to set up.

Disney Downloads Folder

1. Lake Buena Vista, the Disney-themed BaCC featuring social class rules, guilds, and True Love. This is the project I made the downloads folder for, hence the name. Currently, the collection of downloads is virtually identical to the Modern collection, except this one uses Proportionate Aging.

2. Modern Ubermegahood. A freshly started Ubermegahood, featuring traits, proportionate aging with a calendar system, new LTWs, and hereditary supernaturalism. I’ve made a few posts about this; rest assured I got far enough ahead that it feels awkward to go back and make more. Plus I started forgetting to screenshot and write notes.

Medieval Downloads Folder

1. The Megakingdom of Simland. Exactly as it sounds, it’s an Ubermegahood rethemed to be medieval, played as a mega-Medieval Charter Challenge. I talk about it all the time. It’s been stalled for over a year, I think, because I installed CC incautiously and cannot pinpoint the problem CC to save my life. (Or, more accurately, I find a problem CC, remove it, and then the game crashes again and points to another one down the list. In theory the DDO, Clean Installer, and SimPE should help, but there’s always another bad CC file forcing me to 50/50. I have about 2500 files left to check and I hate how long it takes).

2. If the CC is ever resolved, I may make Grimwood Abbey, a sort of small/compressed start to an MCC forcing the sims to earn their social classes.

3. Algary, a standard MCC I started setting up long before all this was a problem. Of note is that the Squire family rolled all teens and children, no adults, and one peasant family includes elder lesbians.

Decades Downloads Folder

1. Arcadia, the hood I set up the folder for. It’s a rather ambitious plan for some sort of through-time BaCC starting in the 18th century, featuring a native population and manual religions. With Proportionate Aging, the idea is to advance a year for each aging year (4 days), or five years for each seasonal year, and progress through different eras at the correct time. There are five couples, the Shepherds, the Partidges, the Farmers, the Coles, and the Threepwoods.

2. Tortuga, the Pirate Shipwreck BaCC I posted about a couple months ago. I may need to duplicate the downloads folder and make a dedicated 18th/Pirate folder.

3. Port Royale, a Colonial BaCC I set up when I first got the downloads collection up. No plan, just four rolled families. Governor Thomas Marlowe is about all I can remember, with his elderly mother and two teen daughters. I think I have a family named Cunningham, and I might have a Cole family or… maybe an Underhill family. I’ll have to check again. I am thinking about renaming the hood to be less piratey, and using it as a simple BaCC through time starting in the 18th century, but without the complexities of manual religion or an entire native community.

4. Silver Hollow, a hood I started tonight because I wanted to start an 18th century BaCC and instead I just made one guy and started a colonial Legacy challenge, only for the game to severely hang up the first time he returned from a community lot. I did manage to make a great Woods community lot that I am packaging for my own use in any hood using the full Sun&Moon collection.

5. …and I also wanted to start a new Colonial BaCC featuring a slightly goofy Jebediah Springfield-like Founder, named Pendergast, and four families named Archer, Gardner, Parrish, and Thompson. Really, I should just merge this concept with the other one I started a while back.

Ancient Downloads Folder

1. Living History, a modified Test of Time Challenge to appeal to my history major/anthropology minor ways. The Neanderthal era is getting fully revamped to three stages of hunter/gatherer, tribal, and chiefdom; sims gain social status based on popularity and influence, not money, at least to start; and eras change based on achieving certain goals, not generations (at least not JUST generations; I’m trying to make it work with Proportionate Aging here)

Really, it’s not a ridiculous number of hoods here, it just frustrates me that aside from Ubermegahoods I struggle to get them off the ground and constantly start new ones instead of getting invested in the ones I already have. Honestly, it’s probably building everything from scratch that throws me and slows me down, which would be why I tend to prefer the premade hoods. I’d just download starter lots if I wasn’t always going for very specific themes, and also if installing downloaded lots wasn’t what broke my Megakingdom.

I wish I had more time.
