Hello my dear! The answer to this is always of course, though I've been pinwheeling through different pairings and fandoms (though what else is new) because I haven't had a hyperfixation since Good Omens :(

I'll list a few from different recent fandoms. My bookmarks tend to be more mature or explicit ratings and longer fics because I love a good established dynamic

Mystrade (Mycroft Holmes x Greg Lestrade from BBC Sherlock)

I've been reading for these two since October now so there's definitely a few for them.

Paperback Writer by meansgirl

Rated E and totaling 82 265 words, this was an awesome fic where it's technically still canonverse only Greg is secretly an erotica author who just so happens to be Mycroft's favourite. So then of course Mycroft finds out.

Human Remains by Saziikins

This series lives in my head rent free and is so wonderful. It's canon compliant and a very slow burn of Mycroft and Greg getting together and then making a relationship work. Rated E, it's got 3 works in it and totals around 900k words, but the second work is a retelling of the first from Mycroft's POV instead of Greg's.

Pater Noster by manic_intent

Another rent free series, this one is Mystrade but set in the Good Omens universe where Mycroft is a high ranking demon and Greg a lower tier angel. So of course after being brought together a very human Sherlock, they fall in love. Eventually. I adored every bit of it, there's 3 works numbering at 26k words and it's so much fun.

Curse of the Green Hag by Moorishflower

A Xedgin fic for DND: Honour Among Thieves. It's a fuck or die curse fic with just enough plot for me to be invested. Edgin is great, Xenk is great, and the smut is great. Enough said. Rated E, 16k+ words.

The Veretian Flytrap by Just_Another_Day

A Dament fic for the Captive Prince fandom, this fic is a great twist on the canon story if Damen and Laurent were an Alpha/Omega pairing. Super in character and has all the greatness of the trilogy itself, I loved it. Rated E (obviously) and is 176k+ words.

life update:

im still in a rut, recently there's been a lot of construction in mai house so I haven't been getting that much sleep :( added with the horrid smokers/tuburculosis cough I had, and still having to go to work, I have been completely drained of my energy, inspiration, and money.

it has been a week since Ive last posted, and I have no fucking clue when ill post again (im so so so sorry)

it also doesn't help that people have been very mean in my inbox, and I put my life on hold to maintain this account- only to not see much progress in growth (im such an attention whore, I know) and to get back such negative marks on my writing.

by no means am I saying I am leaving this account- no. I just need a lil sabbatical where I have the opportunity to go outside on my days off, and not stay home for the sheer reason of, "I have to write." because I felt guilty for spending my free time not writing.

and I think that's why I have been so drained- ive spent allll my weekends since November saying, "no I cant go out today- I have to finish this piece before tommorrow."

people have taken advantage of my eagerness to please- being so demanding of free content and not giving me feedback on it- why spend days in my inbox asking for a req and when I finally post it- not even a reblog or a comment? whatever.

this has turned into a rant I didn't mean for it to, SORRRRYYY

anyway. I am grateful for the people who are active in my inbox and my comments, I see y'all and I love y'all for making me feel like my writing isnt some lower quality version of another author on here.

because, yes ive been told that, that I am a less talented version of a popular author on here.

and me thinks, from how much effort ive put into my fics, time, sleep, ignoring my physical needs just because I didn't wanna disappoint strangers on the internet, isnt worth it if im just gonna be compared to others on here.

I chose this- I know I did. and I will continue to choose it. I love the lil community ive built with people who I fucking appreciate sooooo very much for how much they've offered to me.

I will be back, I promise I will. my brain just hasn't been braining recently.

i really appreciate being able to read this, thank you so much for your kindness <33 especially since recently ive been stuck in a bit of a rut mentally regarding my writing

a night in being my first posted work, ofcourse whenever i reread it there’s so much i want to edit (just in terms of like beta reading rather than content wise) but considering i never planned for it to have as much “depth” as it ended up having and being able to read how it’s being interpreted by yall, it’s really the biggest motivation to just keep going. of course i want all the stories to see their (hopefully somewhat satisfying 😹) end, especially as an avid fic reader who relates to how hair-pullingly frustrating it feels to not get that, but the whole process really is much harder than expected especially since life decided to throw me a bunch of curveballs throughout my writing time (like i really sympathise now with those insane author notes that some update with like LOL)

point is, thank u so much for (re)reading and for ur support, i truly mean it every time because i could post a hundred chapters but they wouldn’t have half the life and depth they have if it weren’t for all the feedback and commentary that i get from y’all which truly mean the world to me <3

wowie zowie, there are a ton of new trailers!!!

there are a ton of new trailers for things im looking forward to this year that just dropped, here's my thoughts on them!!

star wars: the acolyte

the name of the game here is: cautious optimism. im being cautiously optimistic about this one because im more excited about new stories & characters in the star wars series rather than a reliance on pre-existing characters. idk, after the boba fett show, the obi wan show, mando season 3, & the ahsoka show, ive been worried about the state of star wars as its presented in shows (out of those 4, ive only ever seen 2 of them, & the quality seems pretty consistent across the board)

maybe the series just needed new names & stories to change things up. and i was initially excited for this one after it was announced to be part of the high republic initiative, an era of star wars we havent really seen in the disney canon yet. in terms of upcoming star wars content, this & the skeleton crew are like the only stuff im cautiously anticipating because of the wholly new content they're presenting

as for this show in particular, idk. ive seen people make fun of this (purely because of the recent battlefront rereleases reputation currently), but idk. this seems interesting, it seems like this one is gonna be more action packed than the slow lightsaber duels we've had in the most recent shows. and i like seeing a whole bunch of jedi together, im glad lucasfilms are getting comfortable enough to put a bunch of jedi in a scene together since the prequel films (theyve been slowly building up to this since at least the order 66 grogu flashbacks in the mando)

really, we'll have to see if this ends up being good or not when episodes start dropping in june

alien: romulus

speaking of classic 70s sci-fi series, ever since this and the tv show were announced, ive been looking forward to a new back-to-basics approach for alien!! after living through the prequel era of the 2010s, it kinda seems like the series was stuck in a weirdly creative rut?? idk, i havent actually sat through prometheus, and alien: covenant i thought was. OK. it was OK, serviceable.

but hearing that the next film would be an early reboot of the series set closer to our time, directed by fede alvarez of 2013's evil dead, i was a lil bit excited. even if i may not like 2013 evil dead, the kills in that were really gnarly & sick!! im ready to see him bring that energy into an alien film!!

and from the one minute teaser we got, it looks fun!! it looks like a fun alien movie

i liked the wave of facehuggers chasing people around

i also liked how Orange this film is. compared to like the first & second films (alien is a very Green film to me, & aliens is a very Blue film to me), i'm glad to see how Orange this film is. whenever i think of the 70s, i think of Orange, so im glad to see this film use Orange to its advantage

speaking of 70s, i like how this film accurately recaptures the exact set design of the original film. that exact feeling of claustrophobia in an old space trucker ship surrounded by an unknown lifeform that could kill you, its really cool!! this & isolation were like the only two alien media that accurately recaptured the original films unique set design

yeah, idk what else to say, this looks like a fun, freakier alien film than i ever expected!! i hope the writing quality will match up, but even if it doesnt, id be down to just watching some really freaky kills in space

Oo hard to choose a favourite.

Honestly I really love all my characters in whump, but some days I prefer one over the other. Pora and Mouse are my go-to characters to hurt, Cub is my fav for comfort, and Ashtray for recovery/venting. Ioni is always fun if I don’t have any other ideas.

Aside from my own characters, I love every one else’s whumpees equally. I follow quite a few blogs and series so its hard to name them all. I do have some catching up to do bc ive been too exhausted to read all that much past couple weeks.

I remember reading a very whumpy scene in a book a few years ago and it still stands out to me. Basically this guy owns a horror house with very realistic monsters, and the main character finds out that those realistic monsters aren’t animatronics, or even people, but real monsters that the guy is holding captive. She gets caught talking to the monsters, trying to figure out how to get them out of there, and he kidnaps her. He then proceeds to tie her up, take her to some place deep in the forest, and do some weird ritual stuff to turn her into a zombie then use her as part of his horror house.

Later on in that same book series she helps free a vampire who got kidnapped. Problem is, when you get turned into a vampire you basically become a slave to another vampire that runs a castle, so as soon as you get turned into one you get sent there. He got kidnapped right after he turned into a vampire, meaning he never got sent to the castle and now he has hell to pay for it, despite it not being his fault. So right after being freed, they have to run from an army of angry vampires who want his head on a spike.

It’s quite vague since it’s been years since I read those books, pretty sure it had some more whumpy moments, but I cant remember. I don’t think I would like the series now just because it has both female whump and whump of a minor in it, and it’s written in dutch. I much prefer reading english books despite dutch being my native language.

I recently read a book that was a collection of short, creepy-ish stories, and one still stands out. I forgot the context (something about a show that included children?) but a father was talking to another guy about how pretty his daughter looked in her new blue dress, and how it matched her brown hair. At the same time, a blue and brown butterfly flies up to him. He takes the butterfly by the wings while he talks, then accidentally rips part of a wing and drops the butterfly on the ground. The other guy looks at him and tells him to just kill the butterfly, so he stomps on it. Then the doors to the show open, and dozens of butterflies fly out, all in various colors, which is when he realizes the truth.

I rewatched Rebels recently and decided since I write fanfic now--and spicy fanfic at that--I needed some spicy Rebels fanfic in my life.

Yavin IV was not a cold moon by any standards; certainly not by Zeb’s, whose mind strayed to Bahryn any moment someone--usually Ezra--complained about the jungle at night. Zeb welcomed that cool mist of the morning, the welcome reprieve to some of the strangling humidity. Occasionally before longer missions, Zeb would return to the Ghost just to reacclimate to its crisp, metallic air. Even though he spent more time in space than on the ground, Yavin had worked its way into his lungs.

Zeb thought of Kallus, of his smile every time the Ghost touched down on the landing pad, and rubbed his chest. Maybe it wasn’t Yavin after all.

Shaking himself, Zeb boarded the Ghost, dropped a small crate of provisions in the cargo bay, and made his way to his room. He hadn’t been on the Ghost in almost a week. Ezra, of course, had used that as an opportunity to take over their quarters almost entirely.  New posters lined the walls, droid parts and trophies form Imperials littered the floor, and crumpled clothes covered Zeb’s bunk. Zeb just sighed and pushed everything into an unsightly pile in the corner for Ezra to deal with later.

He was admiring a new poster Sabine had completed for the Alliance when he heard his door open. His ears flicked toward the sound, but he didn’t turn around.

“I had a feeling I would find you here.”

Warmth flowed through Zeb, reaching even his fingertips. He stretched his hand and inhaled evenly before facing the entrance.

Kallus stood in the doorway, arms tucked behind the small of his back and blocking some of the light Zeb had been letting into the room. His shadow wavered when he leaned against the doorframe.

“How did you even get in here? There’s no way Hera gave you the access codes.” Zeb almost smacked himself in the forehead after speaking. Instead, he half-shrugged, looked down, and waved his hand through the air aimlessly, continuing, “Not that I’m not happy to--well, it’s fine that you’re here. Uh. Good to see you.”

Kallus ignored Zeb’s fumbling and answered, voice even, “You left the cargo bay open.”

Zeb wanted to argue he had been too distracted by Kallus’ smile to lock up properly, but then Kallus smiled in real time, and Zeb found himself at a loss for words. He eyes traced Kallus’ outline. His Alliance uniform was less imposing, less sharp than his Imperial clothes, but he still cut an impressive figure. Leaning the way he was in the door, someone could almost mistake Kallus for a civilian if they didn’t know him. But Zeb knew him--saw the straight line of his shoulders, the strong set of his jaw, the way he favored his left leg to avoid putting weight on his injured knee.

“I have something for you.” Whatever it was glowed a muted yellow between his hands.

Crossing the room to reach Kallus, Zeb tried to ignore the tightness in his chest as the object became clearer. The meteorite was no longer warm, but it cast a soft light still, enough to illuminate the space between Zeb and Kallus.

“You kept it.”

“Of course.” Kallus said it like it was the simplest thing in the galaxy.

Zeb scratched the back of his neck, looking down. “Heh. Right.” A moment passed before he realized he was clutching the meteorite to his chest. He wasn’t even sure when he’d taken it. He uncurled his fingers and chuckled nervously as he held it back out to Kallus.

Kallus shook his head, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “No, no.” He covered Zeb’s hand--surely just to push the rock back to him, Zeb thought. “I’m trusting you to bring it back in one piece.” With a smirk, he added, “If you can manage.”

Zeb clicked his tongue. “I’m not sure you appreciate how hard it is to completely divert from every plan we’ve ever come up with each time we get a mission. Top military analysts can’t even predict our outcomes.” His shoulders bounced as he tried to hold back his laughter.

Kallus shook his head, mouth half-open, tongue sticking between his teeth. “Truly, I don’t know how you do it.”

Zeb felt Kallus’ breath on his neck. Even though he had actually held Kallus in his arms on Bahryn, Zeb felt this was the closest they had ever been.

“Kallus--”

Kallus made a noise in the back of his throat. “Alex, please, or--”

“Alexsandr. I know.” All at once Zeb felt a giddy lightness in his chest as well as a weight low in his stomach, a contradiction so absurd he wanted to laugh. Instead, he used his free hand to reach for Kallus--Alex’s--face. Zeb took Alex’s chin between his thumb and forefinger.

“Are you going to kiss me, Garazeb Orrelios?” Alex’s lips were parted; he inhaled deeply through his mouth.

“I’m thinkin’ about it,” Zeb said quietly.

Alex rolled his eyes and started to reply, but he never got a chance; Zeb kissed him, gently, but without trepidation. The sound Alex made was soft, tucked somewhere between a laugh and a sigh of relief, and he turned his head to the side, kissing Zeb with equal confidence. It wasn’t a particularly long kiss, and when Zeb pulled away, he kept his eyes closed just to make the moment last longer. He dropped his hands to his side. Alex placed the meteorite gently on a shelf. He touched Zeb’s face.

Zeb opened his eyes as he turned his face into Alex’s palm. A jolt ricocheted through his chest as Alex’s gaze met, and held, his. Alex moved his thumb across Zeb’s lips. “I think,” he murmured, “if you had kissed me on Bahryn, that I would have gone on the Ghost with you.”

“And to think I spent all that time saving your life instead.”

“I seem to recall that I was the one who saved your life.”

“Shut up,” Zeb growled fondly before kissing Alex again. This time, he did his best to leave Alex breathless, wrapping him in a tight embrace and kissing him like he intended to consume him. He bit his lips and soothed the spots with his tongue, tasting salt and fresh Meiloorun.

Alex fumbled blindly for the door controls--almost destroying the locking mechanism as he punched it closed--before returning Zeb’s passion in kind, his leg slotting between Zeb’s thighs and his fingers scrabbling to undo the zipper on Zeb’s combat suit. “I’m not going anywhere, Zeb,” Alex said softly. “So stop looking at me like that.”

Zeb huffed a laugh. “How d’you want me to look at you, then?” He smoothed his hands over Alex’s chest and bit his lip.

“Like you want me.”

“That,” Zeb promised, eyes half-lidded and voice low while he trailed his fingers along Kallus’ stomach, “I can do.”

Zeb dragged Alex into his bed. Alex had unzipped Zeb’s suit, but hadn’t gotten much further with it--which Zeb accepted full responsibility for. Zeb snorted when they both went for the neck of the suit. With his back against the mattress and Alex straddling him, Zeb was more exposed than he had ever been. His hand covering Alex’s, Zeb pulled his suit down to his hips. He bared his neck to Alex. Alex kissed his throat gently, trailing his tongue along his pulsepoint before nipping at Zeb’s jaw. Zeb shivered.

Alex flattened his hands against Zeb’s shoulders and then drew them down his chest, pausing sometimes to trace scars or muscles that caught his attention. When his hands reached Zeb’s hips, he kept his exploration above the suit, and pressed down leisurely on Zeb’s erection. Zeb grunted.

Alex snuggled closer to Zeb. “Of course. The whole night, if you’ll have me.”

“I think I just did.”

Alex snorted and pressed his lips together in a bemused smirk. “Be quiet, and let me sleep.”

Zeb conceded happily. His body ached pleasantly, heavy and loose and warm. Alex’s steady breathing was white noise to Zeb, drowning out the Ghost’s groaning and the Rebel ships docking and departing. One persistent beep, however, kept cutting through the peace, and Zeb’s ears flicked toward it even though his focus was elsewhere.

“You know, you do actually have to get some sleep, since you have a mission tomorrow.” Alex’s voice was muffled by Zeb’s fur.

“It’s just the ship.”

“Mm.” Alex turned in Zeb’s arms until his face was pressed against Zeb’s collar. Zeb grinned, almost giddy with delight to hold him so close.

The beep grew louder, more persistent. Zeb growled.

Alex yawned and pressed a single, soothing kiss to Zeb’s neck. “Just ignore it. It’s louder sleeping on base.”

“I’m trying, it’s just--well, it sounds an awful lot like--” Zeb scrambled out of his bunk so suddenly he nearly sent Alex crashing to the floor.

Alex recovered with all the dignity Zeb expected of him; sliding his shoulders up the side of the bunk, he crossed his arms, rolled his neck, and exhaled tiredly through his nose. His eyes were still closed as he scraped his hands down his face. “What. Could possibly --”

Zeb sent him a pointed glare. “It’s Chopper.”

Zeb’s clothes were much easier to gather than Alex’s, and he was dressed and jamming the door before Alex was even half-covered. It was a pity to lose that part of the view, though. Zeb was about to say as much when he heard from the hall, “--can’t really blame her, Chopp, since your diagnostics last time were--ow!”

“Oh, good, Ezra as well,” came Alex’s voice from behind Zeb.

Another voice, long-suffering but fond, sounded from outside Zeb’s dor. “Behave, you two!”

Zeb sighed. “And Hera.”

“ Karabast. ”

Eyes wide, Zeb turned, his stomach lurching. Alex was muttering to himself as he pulled his jacket on, completely oblivious to Zeb’s attention and, Zeb realized, what he had said. When he finished zipping up his jacket, Alex threw his hands in the air and looked around.

“What next?”

Chopper slammed into the door. He let out a series of frustrated beeps and whirrs when the door remained closed.

Ezra knocked impatiently. “Zeb? Are you in there? Open the door, sleemo; I need something for training.”

“I’m trying to sleep!”

“Why,” Ezra slammed the exterior control pad, “did you,” and again, “jam the door?”

“So little womprats like you would leave me alone!”

“Chopper’s going to open the door anyway so you might as well get up and help us.”

“Chopper, I will rip the dome off your rusty body and use it for target practice!”

Alex came to Zeb’s side. He slid his hand across Zeb’s shoulder, leaning into his space, and whispered, “They are your family, Zeb.”

“And?” Zeb puffed out his cheeks.

“ And .” Alex kissed the corner of Zeb’s mouth. “That means the less secrets, the better. If that is what you want."

Zeb threaded his fingers in Alex’s hair, marveling at the way the light danced in his eyes. Their mouths met in a lingering kiss, one Zeb felt even after it was over and he was opening the door to his quarters.

Zeb expected Ezra and Chopper at his door, Hera in the cockpit. But when he and Alex faced the hall, all three of them were there--along with Sabine and Kanan. If not for Alex’s hand on his back, Zeb would have turned right back around.

The silence stretched until Kanan requested someone tell him what was going on. Sabine smiled wryly as Hera explained, “Well, Zeb and Captain Kallus stopped dancing around each other.”

“Nobody was dancing.” Zeb sneered, all too aware of the blush high on his cheeks.

Kanan smiled. “Good news. Captain Kallus, expect everyone to give you some variation of a ‘don’t break his heart’ speech when we get back. Everyone, let’s just focus on getting the Ghost ready for now.”

“You would think for a crew so clearly prepared, less missions would go awry.” Alex crossed his arms, a smirk playing on his lips.

“You’d think for a crew with regular habits, they wouldn’t break them the one time it’s inconvenient,” Zeb corrected.

Laughing, Hera pointed in the general direction of the cargo hold. “The plan changed. We were asked to offload these supplies tonight--another crew got back early. They’re taking them for us so we don’t have to make that extra stop on the way out. I thought that was the best thing to happen tonight, but I’m really, really living for the look on your face right now.”

Zeb frowned. “Thanks, Hera.” He looked at Alex, who was having an odd staring match with Ezra, and said, “We’ll be on our way.”

“You’re really going to get speeches, you know,” Zeb warned when they were out of earshot. Alex laughed brightly.

“I would not expect anything less.”

Zeb took the ladder down first and watched--stomach flipping pleasantly--as Alex descended. Their arms brushed as Zeb walked Alex back out to the base, Sabine and Ezra following with the cargo they were offloading. They stopped when they reached the edge of the ramp.

“Don’t,” Zeb grumbled, but Alex was already craning his neck to kiss Zeb’s cheek. Sabine wolf-whistled from the cargo access bay while Ezra feigned like he was vomiting.

“Hasn’t he smelled you?” Ezra called.

“Shut up!” Zeb glared.

“Among other things,” Alex added simultaneously, just for Zeb’s ears.

Not to be outdone, Zeb chuckled and added, “We’ll have to try some more of those things when I get back.”

“I’ll hold you to it.”

Despite Ezra’s loud and continuous complaints that he needed Zeb’s help with the cargo, Zeb watched Alex until he was inside the base. By then, Ezra had come to wait by his side.

“You seem happy.” It was a remark devoid of sarcasm or humor; it was simply a fact, one that Ezra wanted to make clear he understood.

Zeb unfolded his arms and looked down at Ezra.

“I am.”

im currently listening to oblivion, by rufi-o, lily potter 

i feel like recently i have been in a little rut. nothing crazy depressing but ive just been in bed watching tv alot and not doing a whole lot of personal improvement. i had all these new years resolution which to my surprise i have been keeping up or at least im putting in effort to do. after a 24 hr shift, i found the energy to mvoe all my furniture in my room and switch it around, do some laundry and heat up some dinner. then today found the energy to go to the gym, did my usual routine. and i ran. i fucking ran. also very surprised by how good i felt for the first 3 mins. cause usually right when i start i feel like dying so please dont judge me. i think i found all these motivation because of this guy i watched on tik tok and i thought he was so romantic and cute. hes so charming and funny. he takes you on these walks around nature in vancouver, these little adventures in the wild. rain or shine. sometimes you get a glimpse of his life when he post the little few mins in. i think it really helped me alot. it feels like therapy. it reminds me how beautiful life is. during covid, i questioned alot of who i am and what am i suppose to do. all my purpose and honestly. i think i was in a really bad place for a little bit. i did a lot of drugs hoping the days would go a little bit faster. i was so lonely and times were just very uncertain. esp when i couldnt see my friend or family since i had to take care of covid patients. i dont blame any one but the situation was shitty. i made the best out of it. currently, we are running out of icu beds again. and honestly, i am scared. i’m scared i wont be able to see my loved ones again. it makes me so emotional that im living through this and that even though it hasnt even happened, how terrified i am even thinking about it. everyone at work is stressed and overworked. i know we make the best out of it. i do too. i try to make my nurses life easier but doing what is only necessary but we are just so tired and sick of people being sick. 

but yeah i was in a little rut and he inspired me to get my shit together. i actually wanna pick up a camera again. go out and maybe just take random pictures cause why the fuck not. it makes me happy i should do it. i also think having a boyfriend makes me forget that i need to take care of myself as well. i love him so much and wish for the best and would do anything to help him succeed in life. i hope he stays in my life for a good and long time. its not the crazy infatuating love that i experienced but its this calming thing that i know everything will be okay. that even if i wont figure out i know he will be there to help me figure it out together and its a very comforting feeling. im surprised at how comfortable i am being with him. he accepts that i am so crazy and irrational sometimes. he tolerates my random burst of energy, my crazy mood swings. he just hugs me when im feeling down for honest to god no reason. i know im not the easiest person to be with, esp with my bad mood swings but hes does, i appreciate it so much. he makes me want to be a even better version of me. i see how he tries to be a better version of him and that makes me want to be a better version of me. thats probably the best part of him. also he cooks. thank god. i really hope this all ends soon. i wanted to get a type writer, just to send random letters to people. how cute would that be? 

life is good, i am so lucky to be able to work and be in the position that i am. i get all the things that i want, i have great friends, a loving family, shelter over my head and a great bf. i just wanted to write this all down so remind myself that sometimes it might be a bad week, a bad month but this is such a good life and soemetimes i might not know why im upset for whatever reason but overall, this is a happy life. nothings perfect but be grrateful for all the things you have. productivity always make me feel good. makes me feel like im actually doing something with my life.

How do I get a nice car with decent insurance as an age 17 male?

For some time now, I had been looking at subaru imprezas, of which I love. However, each insurance quote I got from my parents was something like 3400 a year under my dad, and close to 8,000 a year under my own policy, with collision, so my parents wouldnt even consider it. The quote was for an 04, so if it is that insane I dont see how some kids own 03s, 04s, even a few 07s, as my parents arent poor by any means, and I know all the other kids do not have rich parents. Even an 02 accord with 80k miles was over 3000 a year under my dad with collision. Is there any possible way I can get a nice car, something like an 02 impreza is ideal, without paying so much insurance with collision? I am perfectly aware of the fact that if I get a 95 civic with no collision, insurance wont b a problem. However, I have some hard earned money to spend on a car, and I cant see how I am constantly heading towards the single path of a bucket without collision. Please help me""

My sister has her driver's permit, and she just purchased a used car..Of course she's trying to get her license but she wants to practice in her car as long as she has a licensed driver in the car with her. I'm a 22 y/o mobile homeless girl. meaning i have a car, and a job and a life, just no actual address. aside from a p.o box in the area where my parents live that i check occasionally and/or when i have had recent run ins with the law. its kind of a responcible slash irresponcible wanderlust situation.

i have spent my very short life up to this point couch surfing, sleeping in shit motels and mostly, my car. i have commitment issue in a big way i guess, and thus created my moving castle. i have my car altered to be comfortable, conspicous and insolated so i dont die in the harsher weather months. and im positive that these factors saved my life last night.

It had been a long night with my friends and boyfriend, having the day being one of the only days i got off from my job. I was decently tired and honestly didnt want to deal with the check in process at a hotel. so rather than going to find a hotel i chose to camp out in my car. no sweat.

in the immediate area i knew there was an overnight parking lot in the mountains. it was mostly there for hikers who were going long distances along the trails that passed through. the view off the mountain trail bridge was also pretty tight, im not gonna lie.

having used said parking lot in the past i knew it wasnt very actively patrolled, nor was there much night traffic, and that was my favourite kind of place. the public never seemed to take nicely to me, and neither did law inforcement. so i did my best to keep my distance. my choice was made.

i pulled into the graveled parking lot and made my choice in parking, taking a spot on the far end of the lot and settling down my car. there were three other cars here, assumibly from other hikers. the night was clear beyond the trees with stars visible above. it was actually super nice. one of the reasons i enjoyed car camping.

I locked the doors, climbed into my backseat and set up my bedding and tent arrangements. my bedding evens out the seats for sleeping and my tent acts like camouflage so people would stop calling 911 on me for sleeping in my car. my car windows dont have tint to them, so with my tent set up, my car looks like an empty car with the backseat filled with moving boxes stuffed with survival gear, text books, video games and other items a young adult in a middle of a move would have. i can move in my sleep, feel circulation when windows are down, and avoid detection, all at once. its pretty tight.

i feel as if i should add that i am a rather petite human. i stand at 5' flat, 135lbs at max. it gives a bit of insight on how i can get away with comfortably sleeping in the backseat of a four door car. but anyways, i settled down in my car and played on my phone for a bit, then eventually fell asleep.

i awoke to the sound of a car engine and tires on gravel. immediately my breath stopped. my first thought was it was a patrol cop making rounds. i knew my set up was pretty good at detering law inforcement, but regardless i was anxious. my eyes slowly came in to focus as i grew more and more awake. i slowly patted around for my phone, quickly finding it underneath me. i checked the time. 4:28am. it wasnt any specific time, but that didnt mean it wasnt patrol.

but then the engine stopped. that was odd. cops dont park often on patrol unless they were called up for something specific, and i really hoped that reason wasnt me. my anxiety was silently screaming at me. i continued to listen, closing my phone and tucking it into the pocket of my shorts. soon after the engine stopped, i heard a car door followed by feet on gravel. the footfalls went to the left and then stopped, then moved back to the right for a bit longer, then stopped. it sounded like the person was looking at the cars parked in the lot.

i wanted to look out of my window, but my camo wasnt really built for surveillance. i would have to lift the tent to the bottom of the window, and there was no way I was willing to move just to see what was going on. so i stayed put, listening.

after spending a bit of time not moving, the footsteps started moving again, this time coming towards me. the gravel seemed so loud and i held as still as i could, waiting. the footsteps stopped beside my cars driver door. then the handle was pulled, then again. i thanked myself wholeheartedly that i had locked my car door when i parked. now i just had to hold hard faith to the tent to keep me hidden.

the foot falls moved to the other side of my car. what was this person looking for?? the other handle was pulled. why were they trying to get into my car? i thought to myself rather alarmed. at least they were increasingly unsucessful, as they probably were with all the other vacant cars in this lot.

with one more try to the passenger door handle and then one to the backseat door, the steps moved away from my car, shortly followed by a car door. but no engine. they just sat there in their car and I laid there listening. i was too scared to fall back asleep, so i slowly pulled out my phone. the brightness was turned all the way down and was also set to grey scale. 4:58am.

I cant really judge people who just hangout in their cars for no reason, but whoever this was scary as fuck. i wanted to know why they had been searching cars. i continued to lay there, looking up at the top of my tent, wishing they would go away. i feel like I lost track of time waiting, long enough that it was starting to get light out.

Dim morning had finally arrived and it didnt make me feel any better because i knew that car and that person hadnt left. but what did relieve me was the sound of another car pulling up into the lot. i had never been so relieved to hear another person. the car pulled in and parked next to my car. the door opened and then their trunk opened.

but this relief was short lived. i heard a door open from across the lot. the other car. soon enough, footsteps were coming over and a female voice spoke out "good morning!"  

a deep but not so aggressive voice replied. "perhaps. do you have a phone i could use? mine lost battery and i need to call my friend, i cant get my car to start."

"of course" her reply. footsteps immediately began walking away. i had a bad feeling about this, especially because i was positive their car was not dead, since they simply turned it off and hadnt left their lights on. on top of the fact they hadnt been trying, let alone failing, to get their car to start. they had just been creeping in this parking lot for the last 2/3 hours. bad bad bad.

next to me her door closed. i heard her walk over to the other car, no doubt in pursute of her borrowed phone. ".....hey, did you call your friend....give me my phone....what are you..." her voice cut out as the sound of something on metal slammed.

i heard nothing after, no voices or discussion. Less than a minute later, a car engine sounded, turning over and then gunned followed by tires on gravel. finally i gathered the courage to lift my head out of the tent to see out my window, just in time to see the ass end of a pickup truck in the noisy process of leaving the lot. who ever was clearly in a hurry out of nowhere, though my bad feeling told there was clearly a reason.

i hesitantly scanned the lot. the woman was gone. her trunk was still open, a water bottle and a jacket lay rested on the top of her car. i fumbled with my keys, opening my doors and pushed open the back passenger to crawl out. investigation of her car only pushed further the reality of her sudden disapearence.

deep ruts in the lot from the hurried departure were only evidence that the pickup had ever been there. i didnt know what to do. she was gone.

i know there was nothing i could have done other than get myself abducted as well. entirely too small to fight with no weapons other than a small decorative knife on my person, i could do nothing but witness..

i sat in my car for a long time, both shaken and sad. eventually i called 911 and reported an abandoned car with evidence of foul play. the woman on the line requested i stay until the presence of an officer, but i left immediately after the call.

Needless to say, ive started looking for apartments.
