What if I wrote a small fic like two or three or maximum four chapter of the crows burning down the menagerie. It would take place after crooked kingdom, before Inej leaves Ketterdam, Nina and Matthias (alive) would have stayed a little more in Ketterdam and yeah the plot would be that they all burn the menagerie, free the indentures and kill Heleen. Okay wait wait wait maybe I’m hallucinating but the dialogue in this show tends to parallel each other so like what if when Swk started taunting Mac about “screwing off to your master, the lady bone demon is waiting” like what if Mac before The Monkey Pancakening said something like that to Swk about “running off to the monk” v different context tho of course. Surprised there’s not much commentary abt how Mac literally doesn’t want to be working for Lbd and doesn’t care even after he said he wanted to be on the winning side and already had a taste of death and wasn’t a fan. He says it like nearly every fight. Is this one of those instances where it’s different for the show characters and I only care about the red flags as an outside viewer not getting attacked by a smoke monster 😭

but yeah, it would make so much sense to be a callback from what Macky said in the past to swk. it's like his way of throwing memories and Macky's own hypocrisy. he greeted swk by reminding the other about their argument under the mountain. so why not have that other reminder be from swk??? why fucking not!

#anyway #imma be thinking about this forever #thanks anon #lmk #asks #also yeah like there isn't a lot to be said about macky's self-preservation but tbh i always found that to be obvious #but also whenever he reveals his personal opinion it's always when there's a lot of stress going on in the story #like mk was tied up and powerless trying to free himself while macky monologued #swk was trying to distract macky from mk and the gang #too many other factors were around for many people to process what he said (in the story and maybe in the audience)#to me watching the show it was pretty clear that macky only agreed to lbd's deal solely to live and have some revenge as a bonus #like his actual purpose was to free her and he just left the key on the ground and dipped the moment he could #it was only when lbd WAS free that macky was stuck on the badend of the deal and there's that fear that when she dies so will he #he's literally a living corpse #that is not naturally possible or probably allowed #but yeah #sorry for any typocs the sun is very bright today and it's messing with my visibilty to read :(#lmk six eared macaque
