Jason's had a nagging suspicion that Bruce keeps stalker-esque levels of tabs on all the places he’s lived, so when Tim Drake shows up at his apartment door, it takes only a half second for Jason to level his gun directly at Tim's stupid face and to say, bored, “Give me one reason not to shoot you.”

Honestly, he knew Bruce had a problem, but sending a bat to his doorstep? This is just ridiculous.

Or: in a scheming attempt to make them bond, Bruce forces Jason and Tim on what should be a simple quest: retrieve Alfred’s birthday cake from across town and make it back before the party.

But this is Gotham. And nothing is ever simple in Gotham.

A Stewjoni are succubus au that has way less to do with sex, & is more about logistics, medical problems, and cuddling. Featuring Qui-Gon being an excellent master, codywan, aromantic Quinlan Vos, Obi-Wan using he/they/she pronouns, and plenty of costume changes.

CONTEXT??? WHAT??

Was not expecting people to be interested in it sjdkjsdj. Nonetheless, I will share.

So, rewind to before RHM even joined the clan. We're talking Sir Wilford or maybe even Billy G. era Toppat Clan here (perhaps even before then). Topbot was built for field work, particularly in case things started to go really badly. Fortunately, the leader was fairly competent, so this hardly ever was needed. As a result, though, this meant that it spent a lot of time gathering dust in its storage.

Cut to Reginald. Given how his conversations with people other than RHM are strictly business related and how he isn't really seen hanging out with other people like RHM is, my assumption is that Reginald is very lonely. What's a guy to do when you've got lots to talk about but no one to talk to? Well, talk to someone that can't get annoyed if you talk too much, of course. Plus, it wasn't like it was gonna go anywhere anytime soon.

I have multiple versions of how Topbot became loyal to Reginald, and I can't pick a favorite between them:

Reginald spent so much time around it and talking to it that it eventually grew to recognize him as its primary commander

Reginald hacked it to show extra loyalty to him

Reginald was the one who built it in the first place so he naturally made it prioritize him when not in use

However it happened, Topbot became an assistant to Reginald when it wasn’t on the field. Not particularly out of attachment, but a sense of duty. And, not having any real form of companionship at the time, Reginald got attached.

Then RHM came along, and while it wasn’t immediate Reginald and RHM did grow to become friends. And with RHM's love language being acts of service, he started doing various favors for Reginald, a major contributor to becoming his Right Hand later on. Plus, he had the bonus of being an actual person who cared about Reginald and stuck around of his own volition instead of just being an assistant.

In other words, he did a lot that a certain android also did, and then some. Something that did not go unnoticed by said android, who would decide to do something about it--not necessarily out of jealousy for Reginald's attention, but more so out of a sense of pride and refusal to be outclassed.

How did Topbot decide to handle the situation? Attempted murder, of course.

There's a reason Topbot is only seen in SBO and not in any non-GSPI routes.
