Hellooooooo Tumblr!

So, despite having this Tumblr account for a good couple years now, I actually haven’t posted ANYTHING to it… or even really use it at all. Was just kinda more active on Twitter, so Tumblr didn’t really register much for me. So, let’s change that (cause you know… Twitter MIGHT be dying).

Hiya, I’m SkeleGem, or here on Tumblr I’m… Totallynothecrystalskull. Younger me must’ve thought I was super funny by making a sort of forced lame Indiana Jones reference, but it works well enough for a joke about a Gem Skeleton. I’m a pixel artist whom mainly recreates sprites in the style of Shovel Knight, UnderTale/Deltarune, and a few other games too, as well as plenty of original sprites too such as a little series of DnD themed sprites.

While Pixel art is my main focus though, I do occasionally also make pieces in other mediums such as digital art and more traditional sketches. They aren’t as common, but I do make them from time to time

@popatochisssp has inspired me with their version of the undertale skelegem/diamond au to make my own Sea Glass gemsona.

About them: They're certainly... colorful! And their personality reflects (heh, reflects) that. They're not the quietest Sea Glass - in fact, they're quite loud, especially when they're excited, even they're trying not to be - but they're also shy and not really into drawing attention a lot to themself. They're passive and willing to do what they're told, but only so long as it's their choice. As soon as someone tries to force them to do something, they dig in their heels and refuse.

Fun Stuff:

Their colors, purples and blues, are my personal favorites and I really couldn't just choose one...

An absolutely brilliant terrible sense of humor. Puns and bad jokes galore.

Their main talents are writing, and singing - they get into it and forget themself, and it's the only time they forget their stage fright.

Very good at taking notes and organizing, as unexpected side-effect of their writing specialty. But really, how else are they supposed to articulate and bring a story together?

They can dance, a little, but it's rather stiff unless they have a partner who can distract them until they relax.

It's harder for them to stand-up for themself than it is to stand-up for others, but they will if pushed too far.

Their "weapon/instrument" is an ink quill and scroll. Not very impressive until they "write in" a little assistance. Their creations may only be temporary, but they certainly last long enough for the Sea Glass to get out of whatever trouble they're in.

Probably has "Gemini" and "Nebula" as nicknames

Belongs to Purple Diamond and Violet Diamond.

I've tried to draw the Emerald shadow to indicate my Cera as being busted again, but my felt pen is close to death so it's not very pretty.... i’ve been meaning to revamp my old one for a Super Super Long Time and with the steven universe movie’s recent release as well as @ popatochisssp’s skelegem headcanons i finally found the motivation to do it :D

they’re a demantoid, self-nicknamed simply as ‘dema’, and serve(d) under yellow diamond’s court! fairly high-ranking, too; they were tasked with visiting various colonies to ensure everything is running as it should be.

Brick (Horrorfell Sans): A cracked, corrupted ruby, damaged in the War with Homeworld and then lost when the Diamonds blasted the planet. His corrupted form resembled a skeletal cross between a tiger and a bear, and when he’s healed with all the rest of the lost gems much, much later, he retains the (now disproportionately) large hands/claws of that form. He can also only seem to produce hisses, growls, and odd croaks, but it’s not certain whether that’s down to having been corrupted, or his cracked gem. At least he’s sentient again, so he’s not complaining.

King (Horrorfell Papyrus): A corrupted bixbite...which is... strange, to say the least. He was supposed to be lightyears away from Earth by the time Pink Diamond was shattered and the Earth colony was given up as a lost cause... In any case, while corrupted he took the form of something that could only be poorly described as some sort of bird-crab hybrid. Once healed, he’s mostly back to his old appearance, excepting a little extra height and one leg that still looks a touch crablike below the knee.

I'm imagining the premise poppy wrote for Mal where the sea glass is is there while hes interrogating or torturing killing etc.

Then he looks over and realizes she was there the whole time and has taken full notes just absentmindedly

Meet Gem/SU au versions of Sans and Papyrus I’ve been sitting on for a while! 

Sans is a Blue Sardonyx runt, and Papyrus is a defective/low-toxicity Cinnabar. They are currently hiding out on Earth and have been living there for a while, but have no current affiliation with the Crystal Gems or Homeworld.
