Annalise and Nevermore at the tavern. Inspired by chapter 41 of Skeleton Anne, although that wouldn't be the only time these two go out for a drink and the drawing is of another such time.
I'm aware of how scratchy it looks. Decided I need to just draw stuff for fun and not really care about the quality too much. It's something I stress about too much in my studies, then I end up being too scared to draw anything. That not how anyone improves.
7 (frankenstein's monster): ed and mary are exquisite ex-corpses who've made some exquisite corpse drawings with their friends!
8 (vampire(?)): professor roscoe proboscis drinks blood and is an expert on the supernatural. although he can't turn into a bat, it doesn't make him any less vampiric!
9 (polka dot ghosts): oh my! these two both decided to make a fashion statement! what now?
10 (witch in the sky): I just really wanted to draw a "hocus", as coined by bogleech
11 (mysterious skeleton): could this REALLY have evolved long ago, or is it an elaborate hoax?
12 (lost werewolf): "don't be embarassed, reading a bus schedule can be a challenge even if you aren't a wolf!"
13 (the cat): take your pick! we... think they're cats, anyway.
The limited series Deadman Love After Death began with the first issue having a cover date of december, 1989. ("Book One", Deadman: Love After Death 1#, DC Limited Series Event)
Things tended to get very crowded around the skeleton house. It was just what happened when you had over a dozen skeletons in the place at any given time. On movie night, it was usually at least twenty of them, plus their significant others, their friends, and you. You weren't sure exactly what you were to one particular skeleton. You and Lucky had been friends for a while but you'd also started doing things like holding hands (once, when he was helping you jump over a big puddle) and there had been one kiss on the cheek after a party...What did that make you?
You hoped that it would eventually make you datemates, but he hadn't brought it up and you hadn't thought it right to bring it up until he did and so...well, you were in a bit of a pickle. Because where did a "friend who wants to be more than friends" sit at a crowded movie night?
"'Scuse me, sorry!" someone said and bumped into you as you stood lost in thought. You stumbled, tripped over a blanket or a pillow or something, and found yourself in a bony lap.
A familiar bony lap.
"Sorry!" you said hastily, scrambling away from Lucky. The poor skeleton was blushing furiously.
"Quite all right," he said hastily, "as long as you're okay?"
"I'm fine," you said, feeling your own cheeks heating up. "Just...looking for a place to sit."
"There's a real good seat right there," someone said with a snicker. You heard the whumpf of a pillow hitting a skull and then the same someone said, "Well, there is!"
"He's right," Lucky said. "There is a perfectly good seat here, right next to me. I will just scoot over and you can sit, Y/N." He scooted as best he could. The space he made was not big, but it was big enough.
You plopped down gratefully. "Thanks," you said.
"Shh!" someone else said as the lights clicked off.
The movie started, but you didn't pay too much attention to it. You were distracted by the feeling of being squished right next to Lucky. You didn't protest when he lifted one arm and wrapped it around you. He didn't complain when you leaned against his shoulder. No one at all complained when the two of you fell asleep together. You almost suspected that this was somebody's evil plan all along.
⟨ li jun li. ciswoman . she/her. 39. ⟩ We just saw Sofie Fortier entering the Connaught . I heard through the grapevine that their loyalties lie with [ the Jabberwocks ] and that they also go by high priestess*. Be careful, they work for them as a owner/ceo of Heira Tech and can sometimes be resentful, detached, or even inquisitive but I’ve also heard some people say that they were adaptable, passionate and quite determined. — davinna. The Fortiers always displayed the picture of a perfect family. The success of Fortier Wines, the winery that had been in their family for generations, brought them prestige and money. Sofie and her younger brother Edgar never wanted for anything whether it be schooling, clothes, anything material. . Inside the walls of their home however, that picture shattered. Their father Xavier, charming as ever at events and galas, turned their home into a nightmare, his temper and abuse tainting each and every room like a rot. Their mother turned to pills, numbing herself to the world. Sofie and her brother learned at an early age they could only really depend on eachother, could only protect eachother.
As she grew older, Sofie lived to keep that perfect image intact, in hopes that it would keep Xavier's temper at bay, to keep him from turning his words and fits on her younger brother. She became an accomplished equestrian and excelled in school, worked in the winery when she could. Still nothing seemed to appease him and when she attempted to earn a place in the family business, the drunken man laughed revealing a dark truth. As it turns out, Sofie wasn't a Fortier at all. The product of an affair and a lie, Xavier had always known she wasn't his. Her place in their family was at Xavier's will, only allowing their mother to keep her daughter if she provided him with an heir. Her only place was to keep up the family image.
His ire and mocking only fueled her drive. Her skill for code and business served her well and a few well sold programs let her to invest in her own company Heira Tech. She put all her years living behind the mask of a perfect daughter to work for her among the London's elite. Her marriage was a calculate choice, numb as her mother was to the world, she taught her daughter how to play the dutiful wife. To play a role, one half of a power couple, right in place to collect the true currency of the world, information. Each piece of information for sale, for the ability to find a little power and control, the things she lacked growing up. A chance to protect her brother, to take down Xavier, to prove her worth.
