A couple of days ago I reviewed the quite interesting, excellent and minty gin by @skin_gin (if not allready go check it out 😇🙏🏼) . Thankfully it’s #tuesdaygt so I got to use this great gin again. I wanted a G&T but as I often tend to do, I had to experiment a bit; The gin has some exquisite notes of mint and I wanted to take advantage of exactly that 😋 . So I brainstormed (for about 2 seconds) and a Mojito came to mind 🤓 . This is the result; . Express and include 4 wedges of lime 🍋into the glass Add 2 drops of Tonic bitters (@thebittertruthcompany ) Add plenty clear ice ❄️ 5 CL gin (@skin_gin ) Top with dry tonic (@erasmusbond ) Garnish with fresh mint 🥦(iPhone needs to add a Mint and a lime emoji ASAP 🙃) Enjoy 💙 Skål 🥂 . Skin Gin Die Nähe zur Hansestadt sieht man dem Skin Gin sofort an, ein großer Anker prangt auf der Vorderseite der Flasche. Hergestellt wird der Dry Gin vor den Toren Hamburgs, nämlich in Steinkirchen. Neben einem guten Gin möchten die beiden Gründer Martin Jensen und Mathias Rüsch vor allem auch optisch ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis liefern, weshalb die Sie auf ein sehr außergewöhnliches Flaschendesign setzen. Jede Flasche des Skin Gins ist Handarbeit, angefangen bei der Destillation, über die Herstellung der Flaschen bis hin zur Abfüllung des Gins. Der Slogan „Keep in touch“ passt sehr gut, der Skin Gin ist vermutlich der einzige Gin, der sich bzw. zumindest die Flasche erfühlen lässt. Sieben verschiedene Botanicals sorgen dafür, dass der Skin Gin seine besondere Note erhält. Vor allem fruchtige Botanicals wie Orange, Limette oder auch rote Grapefruit finden sich auf der Liste. In der Nase kommt sofort der Wacholder, aber auch die marokkanische Minze und das Zitrusaroma zur Geltung. Der Gin riecht sehr frisch und klar, irgendwie sehr offen und angenehm. Der Gin ist sehr weich, der Alkohol kommt nicht so stark zu Geltung. Sofort macht sich die Minze bemerkbar und ist extrem dominant. Ich schmecke zudem ein Zitrusaroma heraus, jedoch leicht überlagert von der Minze. Der Skin Gin schmeckt irgendwie anders, aber im positiven Sinne.
