Skud twirled a Twizzler between his fingers like a drumstick.

"So, you, like, sold your soul to the devil for fame?" he questioned his friend before taking a bite of the Twizzler, unsure what to make of this.

Thrash nodded nervously as if he couldn't trust himself to speak, while his girlfriend's face split into a huge grin. "I knew you could do it, babe! Now we know the crowd will love you at future gigs!"

Skud looks between the greasy-haired couple before turning behind him and calling out, "Hey, Rose, what do you think of this?"

Rose barely glances up from tuning her guitar to call back, "I think it's utter bullshit."

Courtney whips around to face Rose, absolutely appalled, while Thrash turns around much slower, looking far more nervous now. "What? You think Thrash just made up making a deal with the devil??"

Rose looks up for the first time since the conversation started and looks Courtney dead in the eye before saying, "Absolutely."

Ziggs takes another drag off the joint they hold. They exhale the smoke, watching it rise up to the moon and stars.

The full moon shines bright over the field of Perky's Buds. Even the patch Ziggs has claimed with a blanket spread out beneath their body.

They wish they could be a star. That would be so rad. Maybe turn into a shooting star one day.

The clink of bottles pulls Ziggs out of their thoughts. They look over to see Skud settling on the other side of the blanket. A six pack of root beer now sits between them.

“Hey, man,” Ziggs greets as they hold out the joint.

“Sup, Ziggy?” Skud replies as he takes the blunt.

A few minutes later, Skud lies on the blanket as well. His blue eyes dart around at all the stars, as if trying to connect the constellations.

“...hey,” Ziggs says, breaking Skud's concentration.

“...what?” He replies, turning his head to look at his friend.

Ziggs stays quiet for a long moment. “Do you think… like maybe we're all part of something bigger?”

“...bigger how?” Skud questions as he looks back to the sky. He squints. He can imagine the stars as eyes. A thousand eyes watching down on them from the black depths of space.

“I dunno,” Ziggs admits. They reach for their bottle of root beer, sitting up slightly so they can take a sip. “Like a tree, I guess. Each generation is like a new branch. Then those branches shoot off into smaller branches then those branch off and suddenly there's this beautiful tree, filled with the leaves of the lives of everyone who had ever lived.”

Skud drinks this in, letting out a slow exhale. “Dude, that was, like, super deep.”

Hey something I don't think I've seen anyone mention about Killer Track yet... specifically about Needy Beast

They played at The Slaughtered Pig. Their name is Needy Beast. Does that give anyone else Nibblenephim vibes? When Linda is sacrificed to Nibbly, it's among a pile of pig carcasses, right? Nibbly himself needs to eat, and he eats those who are hungriest to win the Honey Queen Pageant, those who want it most, those who are the neediest... Nibbly himself can be considered a Needy Beast.

The similarities are there, right... might Nibblenephim have some connection to, or sway over Needy Beast? Perhaps the band members themselves are unaware of it, but perhaps their music draws the attention of The Lord In Black.

Worth noting also - when Rose saw the drawing of T'noy Karaxis in The Black Book her immediate thought was 'that would be a cool album cover.'

Perhaps the Lords In Black have some kind of sway over all musicians - since it's a popular fan-theory that Miss Holloway was an 80s pop star and she's evidently had her own dealings with them, it could tie in there.

(That also could be a fun meta way to tie in all the songs, and why Hatchetfield is usually a musical universe)

A headcannon I got is that Scud doesn't really do drugs. He's just like that and zones out all the time unless the band is performing. I know an above average number of drummers and you'd be surprised how many are like that.
