Man, I feel very "old man yells at clouds/back in my days" right now, but powercreep has made the game so... unfun.

Sure it's nice to do things faster when you're in a hurry, but when all challenge in open world group fights is gone and meta bosses melt in less than 2 minutes...

I don't want to play an autoclicker when I open gw2, but it's really starting to feel like it.

Thought about what her design would be like in her 20s, bc I wanted to include her in my AU where Phoenix sees ghosts and I think she’d haunt Trucy bc I love the theory that she’s an ancestor in the Gramarye family with the power to perceive.

Ghost vibe, anyway I thought she deserved a cloak with a dramatic collar like her uncle Barok, which also inspired the gold details. She’s technically nobility but she prefers the title of ‘Doctor’ to ‘Lady’.

I really wanted to play with the design of her goggles into glasses and added the pink part as a reference to the blood detecting glasses from Ema Skye, I feel like that’s something she’d invent lol. Also it’s really small but the earring is her flower in Ryunosuke blue with the Mikotoba touch of cherry blossom petals.

Her hairstyle is based on this concept art that I thought was really cute. And I added the longer curl in the middle bc that’s what Herlock has. Also the bunny ears cowlick that she has gets passed down to Trucy.

Anyway I think she has a gun and since she’s a van Zieks, she also gets a sword. Or a cute little dagger with hearts all over it. I love her vibe of being the adorable little girl who is related to a serial killer/ assassin and the guy known as ‘the reaper’ bc that’s just so funny. She’s also the smartest person the the AA series and they had to nerf her by making her 10 during the story.

If HSS (both trilogies) were made by 2022-2024 Choices.

I've seen a couple of posts on the Reddit such as "If ILITW/TRR/ES/etc. were made today", and it got me wondering the same for HSS. So I've decided to do my own for both HSS trilogies.

Feel free to share your own speculations!

OG HSS

There would probably be only 1 or 2 LIs, both forced upon the MC, and both made race (and possibly gender) customizable. Michael would definitely be a LI, him and Caleb for duo GOC LI because I know PB would not be able to resist the "golden boy jock/bad boy rebel" LI duo. Though I can maybe see them having Michael and Maria. Emma I could see being a third (possibly race-customizable) token canon female LI. Aiden would certainly not be eligible as a LI because modern Choices (with the exception of maybe MAH) seems to hate LIs that are shy, awkward, or softies, especially if they're male or male-coded.

The book would probably still be GOC, thankfully. Then again, I wouldn't put it past modern Choices to want a genderlocked high school book where they default the MC into being a cheerleader. Speaking of which...

There's no WAY modern PB would have the activity choice system, quite simply because the multiple routes and dialogue accommodations would require putting in actual effort. Modern PB would definitely try to do a genderlocked default-cheerleader MC, but I also feel like they could default MC to being a jock since Book 1 was a bit jock centric. Or heck, they likely wouldn't even give MC an activity at all because god forbid we have proactive MCs.

Honestly, I feel like just about all of the different options and possible outcomes- the spirit stick heist, tryouts, junior captain, hoco/prom crowns- we have for the MC would be nerfed, because they would require putting in actual effort. So rather than having a MC where we can actively decide who they are and how they behave, they'd probably give the MC like one random set thing they're into and have all their dialogue choice options be lacking in variation and story impact.

Assuming Caleb is a (or the) LI, they'd make Zoe a full on straw loser villain woman who exists solely to have petty catfights with MC over Caleb and thus make MC seem like the better match for Caleb. They'd probably have her not be caught cheating until later on into Book 1, nerf her Book 3 redemption arc entirely, and instead have her be unable to move on from Caleb by then and hold resentment against MC for "ruining their relationship".

They might age everyone up to 18+ (with our MC being an incoming senior), but probably wouldn't include smut scenes considering the MTFL fiasco. I mean, ID had zero smut scenes despite its confirmed 18+ cast. If this was 2018-2020 Choices, they probably would have a couple of smut scenes, but 2022-2024 Choices would definitely not. Probably a hell of a lot more lap sitting though. But only MC sitting in LI's lap, except for Emma where it's reversed, because having a male LI sitting in female MC's lap might lose them those precious pennies from straight women.

Considering Prime getting sunset in August 2022 and PB having deleted the Twitter account for it, I'm seriously doubting how much modern PB cares about that game. This version probably would not have HSS Prime characters in it at all. Heck, they'd probably just not even make it "HSS".

HSS:CA

It would be single LI, Rory being that LI. Ajay and Skye become merely recurring side characters.

I feel like maybe PB would be more likely to genderlock this one. Or maybe not, IDK.

Danielle would be a lot more outwards and over-the-top of an antagonist. As in, we see all her behaviors up-front. She'd be a full-on straw-loser villain woman for MC to compete with over Rory.

The same thing about sex scenes for OG would apply here too. Instead of MC being freshly-graduated from middle school, they'd probably make them a incoming senior transfer student from a private school.

Assuming this continues from the Choicesified version of OG HSS and not from the one we actually have, the OG gang will have graduated by the time CA starts (given that they'd have all been made seniors in this version). In other words, we now have an actually valid reason for CA to throw out the OG gang instead of keeping them around for superficial nostalgia bait. That's one positive I guess.

my credentials are im iron 3 and watch a shit ton of foolish and etoiles valo streams :) based on fighting styles mostly cause i. love thinking about their fighting styles

ctommy - gekko creatures! so many creatures! also i feel like he would want the spike every round and be the first to peak every corner.

ctubbo - cypher very sneaky. teammates just give him half of the map to hold by himself. always by himself despite not having any offensive util. still carries every game best agent i love you!!!

cranboo - phoenix self-sufficient kit, also able to provide cover for teammates. still manages to bottom frag every game.

cwilbur - killjoy ho16 is some shit only a killjoy main would pull. setting up some cringe lineups and playing offsite so you don't actually have to shoot your gun. also the ult is clearing an area of the map without killing anyone which is basically plan bomb.

cquackity - brimstone sorry cq but im giving you brim cause ive never known a brim main that was good at the game. completely dogshit always all they do is sit in corners with a shotgun. just play support and whiff your ult like you're supposed to.

cdream - chamber controversial but like. its an agent dependent on accuracy and playing cringe and being toxic. got a massive nerf and is now unplayable.

cpunz - sage cpunz is literally dreams pocket sage. ult is a resurrection. both a support character and an offensive character.

ctechno - raze kaboom i mean. what do you want me to say. high damage good movement. requires you to be good at the game. teammates take him for granted and enemies hate his ass.

cphil - sova dogshit agent with horrible util but if you're in a 1-v-1 with him you are losing. snipes you clear across the map and then all his teammates come and fuck your shit. super non toxic which just makes you hate him more.

cniki - skye generally regarded as support character until they have to clutch a 1-v-5 because their teammates all suck and then they clutch the fuck out of it. this is my main hi niki nihachu !!!

cschlatt - reyna weird pick but reyna doesnt really have any abilities if you arent killing people but if you are its super strong. very imbalanced its either you are dying first every round or hitting an ace.

csapnap - omen every time i see someone be really good at omen i wonder why they arent playing a good agent instead. which reminds me of csap. pls just play yoru or something

csam - deadlock cause prison warden get it??? hahah. deadlocks use all their abilities on one person and still they end up killing her cause shes a terrible agent. L

cponk - breach in theory super strong but in practice i always wish i just had like. anyone else.

cjack manifold - KAY/O i almost forgot you just like i always forget KAY/O exists. even when theres a kay/o on my team i forget about it. also robot hc.

cslime - viper slime goop. falls apart whenever anyone actually attacks them but crucial for the team.

Summarization of the content shown off in Paladins’ overview video of next update. There’s a lot of balance related stuff this time so this is kinda long;

- Valor’s End event pass; 30 levels with skins for Khan & Nyx

- (I’m not a huge fan of the Khan skin but Nyx’s looks pretty cool for her first inclusion in a pass. And sadly neither recolor is very good, Khan’s is too busy while Nyx’s has some weird clashing colors)

- Several minor UI adjustments, including slight color changes to XP bars and certain buttons

- Payload is now included in custom matches

- Additional details added to the Snowfall Junction map

- HUD effects now visible on the lower right side of the health bar instead of above on the left side, up to five can be shown there at a time. This is for Lex’s bounty mark, Corvus’ healing mark, etc.

- Kasumi’s class role has been changed from dps to flank and her abilities have been reworked to more fit the role. This is (at least to my knowledge) the second champion class change ever and the first since the end of the beta

- Talent adjustments for supports including Io, Seris, and Furia. Luna’s aoe ally healing is now a passive instead of talent-locked while Furia has received major overhauls of two of her talents

- Cherish’s old range increase effect is now passive and the new effect grants a small aoe when Kindle Soul is used; Exterminate’s old effect has been removed and the new effect increases attack speed bonus per tier of Wrath active (max tier bonus increased by 15%)

- Seris’ Mortal Reach talent now allows you to use Restore Soul and Shadow Travel simultaneously. It isn’t stated in the overview video or patch notes if the range increase effect is removed

- Grover’s Rampant Blooming talent has been severely nerfed, with healing boosts provided with the effect being cut pretty much in half :/

- Adjustmemts to several flanks (Caspian & Evie buffs, a much needed Skye nerf, etc.)

- Imani’s mana rift radius was cut by two thirds. Poor woman can’t catch a break

- Inara nerfs; Mother’s Grace’ bonus healing effect has been removed and both the damage reduction & duration of Earthen Guard have been decreased

- Slight nerfs to Nyx, her base hp reduced by 150 and the cooldowns of two abilities increased

- Octavia’s weapon can now be fired full auto, but scoped damage has been slightly reduced

- Several healing buffs for Ying :D good for her

I used to play Valorant almost religiously and I am mainly controller role. But I occasionally play Skye and Breach. My highest KDA is with Skye and now that they nerfed her, I am very disappointed. Now she cannot fake flashes or her flashes no longer refill. The most fun aspect of Skye is now gone. It's been couple months without playing but hearing this hurts.

Paper Rex star something wants to take on new VALORANT agent role with Jett’s ‘death’ on the way

A landmark season for a rising VALORANT star fell just short of the perfect ending, with Ilya “something” Petrov and the rest of Paper Rex losing in the grand finals of VALORANT Champions 2023 to Evil Geniuses. But with some major meta changes on the way, the best duelist and reigning MVP of the VCT Pacific league is already looking at a new role to take on. Something shared similar sentiments as other Jett-utilizing players regarding the upcoming agent balance changes in patch 7.04 in a chat with Dot Esports following Paper Rex’s loss to EG. With Jett set to receive some significant nerfs, something is already looking at alternatives, and isn’t limiting himself to just duelists. “Of course Jett die after this patch, so I must practice something new,” something said, listing the likes of Raze and Phoenix as alternates heading into the newest update and season. He also said he wouldn’t shy away from the initiator role, showing interest in KAY/O and Skye. Something did not explicitly say he would start playing even more Reyna, which has been a unique staple for both himself and Paper Rex, but he did share why it’s such a strong agent for the team’s play style. “We can play much faster and react much faster,” something said, “because the flash doesn’t blind teammates. It fits our playstyle.” While something is apparently more flexible to the changes, other star duelists are not. was really looking forward to the AWL remake but after what they did to muffy and gustafa and cody and marlin. i cannot. like sure now I can be woman and marry woman at the same time but at what cost. they nerfed marlin sososo bad it makes me sick!!!!!

I’m not surprised that they redesigned the men so dramatically cus I always got the impression that AWL was never supposed to have male marriage candidates (like the girl ver of the game was an afterthought) which is why the guys all look so different and like actual people and are not I guess ‘stereotypically attractive’. It’s particularly obvious in HM DS where carter is a marriage candidate lol. And when they had the opportunity to design a forget me not valley bachelor for that game he is a pretty boy (skye) - it’s obvious what they think a bachelor should look like unfortunately.

I never really liked marlin thought his obsession with Celia was weird but he does look so boring now lol. And poor Gustafa and Cody. I forgot how egregious his remake is I just looked it up. Owch ☹️

Writing things, Ye. For the same au that you had the nerf war in, what bout them messing with like, slime or something. Or maybe the regular trip to a ball pit. Or freaking dodgeball on trampolines (skyzone if you know what that is, idk your place of residence).

i never had a nerf war au, i believe you’re thinking of @hauntinghyrule! however i can see that sort of thing happening. i feel like their cabinets are perpetually stocked with silly string, and if someone is misbehaving they’re just sprayed with the Shame String. shadow is most frequently accosted, mostly because he’ll throw a fit and is immediately targeted by 4 different cans. they’ve probably got it color-coded, too, so they know exactly who’s taking issue with them. slime is also a possibility but isn’t as functional, unless they’ve got some sort of slime cannon now?

a ball pit is certainly a concept, and while i’m in no way a big fan of the big bang theory, the first thing that comes to mind is either blue or vio trying to get shadow out of a ball pit, and shadow keeps disappearing and reappearing in another spot. i am familiar with skyzone, though i went only once, to supervise my younger cousins, and yes, dodgeball is certainly a favorite sport among them. they invite zelda and play 3v3 and zelda’s team usually wins because no one wants to nail her with a ball. she exploits it and destroys the rest of them. shadow cheats and pretends he catches things that totally hit him. zelda targets him.
