Someone kicked his boot. Eli woke up with a jolt and a sharp inhale, his body immediately going tense.
“What the hell are you doing in here, Love?” Smart asked. Behind him, Gaffin timidly peeked over his shoulder. No doubt Gaffin was the one that had actually found him here in the stables, asleep against one of the stall doors, but he’d been too timid to wake Eli up himself. Hence, Smart. “Don’t you got a bed?”
Eli hadn’t even realized that he’d dozed off. He pushed himself up to stand, and dusted the litter off of his clothes. “It was occupied,” he replied.
“What? By the little human?” Smart scoffed. “You let her kick you out of your own room?”
Eli didn’t answer. He pushed past Smart and Gaffin, and swiftly exited the barn. It was too early for Smart to be testing his patience like this.
He looked to the sky to judge the time. It was still pretty early, but the suns were up. On any normal day, he would have gotten back not long before now, and he would be asleep. In his bed.
This human was really disrupting his normal workflow.
Speaking of Gwenyn…
Eli made a beeline for the bunkhouse. The smell of breakfast cooking hit him as he opened the door, pulling a growl from his stomach. He was reminded that he hadn’t eaten when he’d gotten back last night. “Mr. Love?” the resident cook—Lydi—greeted him. “You’re up early. I was just cleaning up, but I could still make you—”
“No thanks,” he said quickly. He turned down the hall before she could say another word, and stopped in front of his door. It was open just a crack. Someone had been in here already. He adjusted his mask to make sure his face was covered, then he rapped his knuckles to the wood.
“Gwenyn?”
No answer. That didn’t surprise him. He pushed the door open further. Inside, he was met with a very empty-looking room. The human was nowhere to be seen.
“...Gwenyn…?” Careful of where he put his feet, Eli stepped into the room and closed the door behind him. “I’m not one for games. Where are you hiding?”
Still no answer.
Logically—logistically—there was nowhere she could be but on top of the bed. With that ankle of hers, she risked seriously injuring herself if she were to try and climb down to the floor or jump to the nightstand. Eli approached the bed and surveyed it, looking at the abandoned scrap of cloth she’d been given as a blanket.
Movement in his peripherals caught his attention.
“What are you doing?” he asked, one brow raised.
From between the pillows, a mess of red hair peeked out. Gwenyn looked frazzled, like she’d hurriedly stuffed herself into her little nook. “I, uh… I don’t know…”
At least she was still talking. A part of him really couldn’t blame her for being skittish.
Eli motioned with his head for her to come out. “Found something last night. We need to have a conversation.” He lowered himself to his knees and rested his arms on the bed top. Gwenyn eyed him nervously, clearly uncomfortable with his proximity.
Humans.
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes, and removed his arms from the bed. Gwenyn, now looking slightly less uncomfortable, pulled herself free from the pillows and took a few timid steps towards him. Eli noticed that her ankle was looking better. She was still limping pretty badly, but it was a solid improvement over yesterday.
“What, uh… what did you—”“Found a pit of bodies,” Eli said, cutting her off. She stared up at him, confused. “Human bodies. In the woods. In the direction you came from.”

The moment I discovered that in the manga Chishiya wasn’t a part of the Jack of Hearts game, my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined (I was really looking forward to reexperiencing this amazing man’s cookies commercial, but oh well, we can’t have it all). However, I then discovered Banda’s manga version and the moment I saw his design and read his lines, I just couldn’t not think about Johan from Monster, they literally have the same vibes! And thus, the first meme was born! Quite a nice way to diversify my meme content and pump some new content in the Banda tags (let’s keep it alive people!).
And as a bonus, I made a second meme with the same format, but Niragi version, inspired by my bff’s reaction when I told her that in the manga Niragi is a game developer, which was: ”OF COURSE HE IS A GAME DEVELOPER!💀 Yandev vibes man!” and now I can’t unsee it.😂
Hope ya’ll like them!^^

I'm getting back to driving and I wanted to make like, a little custom holy card (santino my beloved) to put near the wheel, so I can stare at it when I lose all hope while I try not to die on the road.
And my mother, without hesitation, immediately says: the guy from Elf.
