He's in shed, all milky, his green eyes all blue and gray, soon he will be yellow like the leaves again

I took him out to check on him, also to rewet his soil, he's back being cozy under a log now

Nyx is officially out of blue!

Now that she's been out of blue for about a day I expect her to start shedding in 1-3 days! As stated before this will be her first shed with me so I'm really excited.

As a disclaimer it is generally not recommended to handle snakes while they are in blue as it does impair their vision and can lead to handling being more stressful. I've heard of snakes that are super nice but if they're in blue and you try to handle them you'll get struck at. Most of the photos I have of Nyx in shed is from when I had to handle her anyways for cleaning, weighing, etc and all photos are being used for education. Please minimize handling for fun when they are in blue if you know it will stress them out.

I have an art idea using shed snake skin and Stephen shed yesterday so I bagged it up! I don’t know if my idea will work but Stephen is a big boi so I have a lot of shed to work with!

listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded psychopath happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.
