this might be fun, here's everything i know about those minecraft youtubers, all information taken only from my tumblr dashboard:

-dream is the person who set this stuff up i think since it has his name in it. he wears a face mask with a :) face. i think he was the world leader in the beginning and then the rest voted him off so he started committing murders? so they put him in prison. he's also basically the god of the world? but he stays in prison anyway to mess with this other kid they also tossed in there.

-ranboo is my favourite cause people's fanart of him is so cool! he's half person, half enderman (my favourite minecraft mob). he keeps out of the wars and the drama. he has many endermen friends :). sometimes he has a crown so i think he might've been king once (he was probably called in a crisis situation and afterwards immediatly went back to his normal life like that roman story about the farmer). he also might get possessed by another version of himself sometimes? unclear

-wilbur died and got turned into a ghost in a yellow sweater which he really liked cause he was just floating around the place playing music and chilling with other people. then they revived him and he didn't like that at all. i think he lost his memories? he writes everything down now.

-philza is a hermit of some kind? everyone else built a city and he went "no thank you". has a fun hat and really likes birds. he also periodically adopts anyone he hangs out with. also immortal because he met death and charmed them so much they didn't want to kill him? he might be a retired war criminal and he's friends with technoblade. also may have somehow slept with a fish or a fridge.

-technoblade. he's half person half piglin! (loads of people are half person half mob) he's also immortal but only because he's very careful not to set off the process that turns him into a zombie piglin. he was king once but they overthrew him, now he hangs out with a polar bear on the regular. still a war criminal though. and friends with philza.

-tommy is... a child? maybe a teen. he got into some rough shit. he was exiled from the city for... teen crimes? and then tried to hide from dream because dream wanted to kill him. he succeeded but then they threw him in prison (for... teen crimes??) where dream tortured him (emotionally, i think). depending on headcanon he sometimes is half person half mob and sometimes just a human.

-tubbo is... tommy's brother? twin? cousin? childhood friend? i don't know what happened to him. i think he joined the anti-city people.

-karl is a time traveller who wears a lot of flashy colours and spirals. as far as i know he has nothing to do with any of the other characters and is just quietly going insane in the corner.

-nikki? or niki? i think that's her name? she's also a hermit who said "no thank you" when they built the city i think and mostly just kept to herself watching everyone else's chaos until recently where she decided to try and stop people from constantly declaring war on each other.

-michael is a baby piglin who has had half of his face rotted off but then someone stopped the rotting and adopted him. i have no idea who. he baby though.

-there is someone called snapap (snapnap? sapnap? satnav?) someone called george, someone called sam and someone called ponk (pong? punk?). i have no idea who any of these people are their names just come up sometimes.

world stuff:

-l'manburg/l'manberg and/or manburg/manberg. this is the city they built when they decided they would live together. i don't know if it's one city and everyone spells it differently or if these are multiple places. there is a lot of political debate surrounding l'manburg (and variations thereof), with presidents and kings getting overthrown every few weeks. also for some reason people keep putting rooms full of tnt in the middle of the city and then they wonder why it keeps getting destroyed at the first sign of trouble.

-there is a nice house in a snow biome somewhere where there's lots of endermen bc ranboo told people to leave them alone :)

-there is an egg??? this egg is a god?? and has mind control powers???

-some people kept fighting dream for some discs. they sacrificed a lot to get the discs. in the end, the discs were completely useless items but i mean who hasn't wanted new music so bad they would've fought god to get it?

-there's a huge gigantic castle in the nether. no one knows what it's doing there but everyone collectively decided a menacing castle probably wasn't good.
