I think what sold me on Crystal’s character is how very ‘now you stop that’ she was about a vindictive winter sprite trying to murder her fiancé. Word for word, she’s all ‘that’s ridiculous’ and bypasses the ‘magic hat brings snowmen to life’ rule simply with love. 

Though it’s implied that a declaration of love along with a gift - i.e, the bouquet Frosty gave her, and the flower she gave him in return) so anything could work. But you get the idea.

Merc (Horrorswap Sans) and his assistants...

Darmanitan (Galarian): He met it shortly after monsters surfaced, even before contact was made with humanity. It’s a gentle Pokemon with a friendly disposition and when it realized that monsters were hungry and scavenging pretty much any nuts and berries and fruits they could find, it offered up some of the food it was storing for later in the snow lump on its head. It was especially insistent about trying to get Merc to take something, maybe because he was trying to make sure everyone else more vulnerable that he was had enough first before eating himself. It followed him around for awhile until he took something and then it just...stuck by him? It...may have decided he needs mothering, which he finds very sweet. He’s never had an abominable snowmom before!

Ditto: He sought this one out, it’s very important for his research in stabilizing his own form. A gelatinous Pokemon that can change its shape, size, color, and solidity at will? Definitely something he needs to get an up-close look at! He does a lot of experiments and tests a lot of hypotheses with it in the process of chasing down leads to the solution for his condition, but of course nothing painful or stressful for the Ditto. It doesn’t understand half of what Merc tries to explain to it about the tests and data, but it likes to play and has a great time trying to make the shapes its trainer wants him to make! :)

Eevee: Coming across this one was a happy accident: its irregular genetic code and ability to evolve in such a wide variety of ways would also be a great help to Merc’s pet project, and he just so happened to stumble across one hiding in a bush. It’s pretty pissed off when he goes to investigate the rustling, and the language barrier makes it hard to figure out why, but through a series of yes or no questions, he manages to conclude that it ran away from a trainer that was trying to evolve it into something it didn’t want to be. Well...if it wants to stay an Eevee, that’s fine by Merc--actually, it’s kind of preferred, it’s Eevee’s potential that he’s interested in rather than actually changing it! It could come home with him and be just an Eevee for as long as it wants to be, forever even. It’s a little wary, not sure if it trusts him, but it does go with him...and maybe it’ll learn to trust him when it figures out he’s a skeleton of his word.

Ledian: Nothing too exciting, found outside one night when Merc was doing a bit of stargazing and a whole group of Ledian happened to be passing through. A few let him get close enough to inspect and marvel at the star patterns on their backs, and one took his praise of how lovely they were to heart. The rest of the Ledian moved on, but that one decided to stay and neither of them have regretted it yet.

Meowstic: This one picked him, too-- male Meowstic have strong defensive instincts and being a psychic type, they can pick up on what people are feeling and thinking without it having to be said. And Merc... Well, he’s very calm and pleasantly unbothered by everything on the outside, but there’s a lot going on under the surface and...not very many people who look hard enough to see it. He’s lonely and keeping it all pent up and broadcasting it so loudly that Meowstic could feel it from a mile away, literally. It reminded him of when he was an Espurr and his empathy kicked in hard, so of course he’s going to beeline right for this skeleton and befriend him, whether he likes it or not. Merc does, in fact, like it a lot and is very, very happy to have a friend who can tell what he’s feeling whether his expression changes or not.

Slurpuff: They chose each other! It followed its nose all the way to Merc’s window when he was hard at work baking, trying to get his little home-business off the ground. He noticed it, remembered learning that Slurpuffs are renowned for being pastry chef’s assistants, and...asked if it might want to come in and help? Turns out it did, and so began a very satisfying arrangement for both of them, with Slurpuff’s incredible nose elevating the quality of Merc’s work, and Merc providing free room and board (and naturally, taste-tests) to his little business partner. They make a great team!

🏡 - my favorite furniture series as a kid was lovely (I was obsessed, everything in my GameCube house was lovely), then as a teen it was that ice one you got from snowmom and the expensive af princess set? Looking back, I still love that princess set with my whole heart

🌱- so I have a few bc idk which is earliest!! I remember playing Donkey Kong in AC GameCube a LOT and I also remember... I used to have my own town on my own memory card so I made 2 other villagers named after my crushes (in elementary school) and had them send love letters to me in-game....

🌼 - do dandelions and clovers count as flowers cause if so... I adore those so much!! Like I loved having a dandelion in my hair or BLOWING THE DANDELION AWAY or like the little clover book!!!

But if that doesn’t count then I really love the roses, lilies, and carnations (although I don’t remember carnations much)! But I hated how you could only have the rose in your mouth cause I wanted to wear it in my hair really badly

Just geeking about Infinity Train

So like a lot of people out there, I have been stalking watching the development of Infinity Train since the pilot and watched the early drop of the first episode with the excitement of a puppy who has just learned what “going for a walk” means and some stuff came to my attention during the several times I rewatched it that got my brain hamster running a mile a minute.

First are the 2 instances where we are given family pictures, demonstrating that Tulip’s parents have ash blonde and dark brunette hair colors while our protagonist is sporting a recessive copper red. 

I am most definitely looking into things far too much and far too early but these 2 photos also only show Tulip as being a young kid with no baby pictures to be found (granted the scenes inside her home are incredibly short lived and rightly so for the pacing of the episode.) This makes me wonder if there’s more than just divorce in her family back story. What exactly it means would be left for more evidence to decide (but adoption or transition and not wanting to see older photos of themselves do come to mind.)

Second, I nearly died after realizing her parents call her “Bud” as a nickname. She’s a Tulip bud! 

But it’s not just cute, this could also be a hint at the fact that Tulip, as the main character, has only just begun her story, as a budding flower. (I mean come on, a tulip bud enduring winter?... I see what they did there)

Third, Oneone’s entrance: (Is it One or Oneone? I don’t know if that’s been decided on yet, but whatever, they’re cute af.) The panning shot shows a snowdad, snowmom, (presumably representing Tulip’s family by how she’s shown making fun of the first two as she walks by) and a third snowperson with Oneone perched in place of the head when they ask Tulip if she’s their mom. Of course, Tulip is understandably freaked out by this and says no, but Oneone still decides to follow her.

Immediately, my pun loving conspiracy-board mind says “Heh... Oneone is a brain child.” 

...But what if you take “Infinity Train” very literally with the little info we have available at the moment and theorize that Oneone was a “brain child” project, primarily built to search the train for their “mother?” The one who built them in a place where “when” doesn’t really hold meaning?

At any rate, the concept of Oneone searching for their mother is exceedingly important seeing as the writers chose to have them ask Tulip this twice in the first few minutes of interaction between them. 

And another (kind of obvious) thing! Isn’t it a bit strange for the train to hold that strong a curve that far towards the horizon unless it was almost making a u turn?...

Anyway, just shooting loosely based theory spit balls at the wall over here, don’t mind me!
