just genuinely wondering — i feel like in fics mack is sooo often characterized as being difficult/moody/a lot to handle and i’m wondering where that stems from? i’m just getting into the sharks so idk them that well so really the only thing i’ve seen that reflects that is the never offside podcast with the whole windshield punching story and toff even says that mack is known to ‘spaz out’ but idk if there’s any other specific instances that fans get that vibe from

anon!! sorry for letting this ask sit for so long, i wasn’t sure how to go about this post at first! but yes certainly, let's delve into the question:

is mack actually moody/bratty/difficult/a lot to handle? 👀🩵

i certainly know what you mean when it comes to this being included in fics!! i think we definitely saw a sharp increase in this mack characterisation post windshield-incident reveal (mack getting frustrated waiting for will in his car and punching the inside of his windshield) as the story kind of puts a highlight on this aspect of mack's personality lol. full story from cat's podcast in the vid below (12:20-15:00).

firstly, soooo much could be said about their bickering and mack's little protests throughout the whole story because obviously will's telling it wrong despite mack prompting him to tell the story in the first place (shoutout to the part of this amazing post about how mack waits for will's cues on a lot of things to gauge how he should react himself - like in the emergency contact vid!).

for me one of the main parts of this story that stands out is the fact that will says mack didn't even say 'sorry' because 'why would i say sorry? i'm gonna pay for it'. you just know mack felt super embarrassed about breaking will's windshield with his little outburst, hence the lack of a sorry because that would mean mack would have to admit it's his fault and that he did something wrong which are not macklin celebrini traits in his eyes. obviously it was the windshield's fault!! ('it was an unsafe windshield', 'it was a soft windshield')

and as you said, toff said mack is known to 'spaz out' a little (likely meaning he gets in a mood about things/gets worked up easily, which the team obviously finds funny - will's 'you THINK?!' agreement lol). back at BU mack was also reportedly 'going at it' with 5th year senior captain case mccarthy because mack got pissy in practice and maybe concussed sam stevens...

so i think it's safe to say that mack struggles to control/process his emotions sometimes, leading to his moodiness/making him 'difficult'. some amazing exploration as for why (and why will helps this) in this post again!!

another moment that definitely built on this narrative was the awards given out by the sharks media admin. of course mack wasn’t happy with his the first time (his whiny ‘… idk i’m disappointed…’)

so the admin tried again (‘are you serious?’ *turns to will for moral support* ‘i don’t like this one either’☹️) and AGAIN (‘okay… this one’s better…’🫤) and AGAIN, until mack was finally satisfied (‘this one i can get behind☺️’ *proceeds to happily bicker with will about it*) bless the patience of the sharks admin staff fr <3

anyway, my main point here is that the admin printed out THREE extra awards for mack because they already knew he’d be picky and difficult about it, so they thought ahead to bypass the system lol. not to mention that will was given a jokey award too and just accepted it, y’know, like a normal person.

of course this all leads to the 'bratty' characterisation we see in a lot of fics, mainly because will is constantly letting him get away with it!! no, worse than that. he's DELIGHTED by it!!

mack straight up broke his windshield and will thinks it's the funniest thing in the world despite it happening literally on the way to them filming the podcast and looks at mack like this whilst he's telling the story:

will, who watches mack whine about the awards he's getting and looks at him like this when mack's finally happy with one and he gets to rib him over it...

so in conclusion, YES, mack sometimes has trouble processing his emotions (he's an 18 year old kid thrust into super-ultra-mega nhl stardom with an overbearing performance coach father and is expected to save an entire franchise, i think we can cut him some slack), and YES, this sometimes means he comes across as a bit moody/difficult to deal with. but my main point here is:

I have kind of been looking at this one and off. The whole image gives a weird vibe. Differences:

-she doesn't look like herself to me. Like the hands up and maybe the straight on like view. She doesn't not look like herself, not unrecognizeable but strange.

-the angle IS different. It is close to Wally's view, but just differenf enough. Like we are looking from a lower perspective and a bit angled, making the placement of home and the tree to be just different enough. This also kind of explains why we get Frank's house only in the back, but I am sure there is a reason for it beyond the angle.

It almost looks the same but when you look at the flower placement it is a bit more obvious.

-the extra trees are gone

-the houses in back have always been a bit weird as they aren't in order. It goes frank, julie, barnaby. It should be barnaby, frank, julie. It could mean that wally is to the right of home as it appears here. There isn't a placement that should allow for him to see the houses in this way over his shoulder

-the flowers aren't overlaid with the pattern from the border

-the rock no longer has barnaby markings on it. The shape is kind of sort of there

- they are both pictured with wide eyes and big smiles

-Wally's has a green tint

- they are both sitting like ladies

The takeover of the main spot is new. The other characters didn't get to be front and center during their turn being the focus. This is most likely because Wally is gone and not related to the focus. But neither prior focus was announced like this one was.

Last time we got the info about the new deliveries and information that points to more information about multiple characters. Let's review:

-Eddie's secret videos came from W. It appeared that they were recorded from an older tv set in their house. They were posted on AFPE.

-Poppy's book was shared by W on the main page, but incomplete. We saw more of the book on AFPE, with spooky audio.

-W tells us that they got a lot of books that they are "pleasantly obsessed" with, and that there are 9. Poppy's book is the 1st we see. 2 of Julue's are branded Looky-loo, Sweet Briar and Springtime Salutations. There isn't any indication that the ofther two are Looky-Loo, which leaves us with 6 books and and 5 neighbors left: Wally, Sally, Eddie, Howdy, and Frank. (I think Frank will be last and I would be sueprised if Wally is included in the line up.) Potentially, Home could have their own book, but I haven't seen anything that would make me think Home will ever be a main character (much like their acting career.)

Back to my point, WHRP announces that Julie will be first, so we could see a new character take over the main page each time, but it could just be Wally being MIA.

It is odd that W doesn't give us any updates on this. It is almost like W is so busy with their new toys (even literally) so hasn't noticed that Wally has gone missing. I have been turning this over in my head with no answers just yet. W very obviously doesn't know about Wally being gone. They would be worried if there were now errors on the page. They state that "nothing has moved out of place" so they don't know.

Could it be related to the eyesight? The obsession with the new stuff? There are updates on the main page so W or someone else from the team has made updates (I wrote a little about this recently in terms of if there is only W or if we see traces of another team member.) But W definitely hasn't seen Wally go missing.

So why now? Wally tells us that he was lost and he couldn't find us, but he knew how to find the channel so he is here now. It would make more sense for him to have been missing on the last update. But he is missing from most places on the website and only appears to us in a barely visible darkened room in a chair. (Shivery thought, what if he is in there with W and they can't see him?)

He appears to be facing away from us as well, but I could see that illusion working the other way too, with him facing us. I don't understand why, now that he has found us, that he has hidden himself away.

One thing I meant to look at and haven't done yet, is this concept of "in trouble," which appears more than once. Maybe I will detail it later, but with that phrasing and the severe chair potentially facing away from us, did somebody put baby in a corner? He could be in classic time out. Julie mentions being in trouble as well.

Did this happen with the show? Did they get "in trouble" for something that happened as a result of the show? It would fit with Julie's almost frantic, put your hands up pose on the main page. Maybe Julie is stepping in to keep trouble at bay. We know that W isn't aware that Wally is gone, so they didn't make Julie the main page. This means that someone else on WHRP did (if there is a someone else), or Julie is aware enough to step in here to protect them.

Something about Altered Loyalties CYLAS just really makes me want to include him in the first place but also makes me really really REALLY think that with the more supernatural elements of AL based off of the original TFP pilot (or just first episode/s?) that CYLAS as a ‘dead man walking’ would actually let him stay around longer AND also be a very significant contributing factor to Megatron’s downfall in Decepticon favour!

Of course it’s not as if I have the pieces of the TFP rewrite au firmly put into place, CYLAS in canon shows up just over halfway into season 2, and many of my most established changes occur in the first like… including all the parts of ‘Darkness Rising’ 8 episodes of season one; I have no idea if the environment CYLAS presents himself in is the same one canon CYLAS does.

But with the dubiousity between s1 e8 all the way to s2 e19, I’ll establish the basic context… I think in story mode maybe…

Looking at the general timeline for the Aligned Continuity, it says that the first contact of cybertronians on Earth is dated to about 500 years before the show, give or take a decade. I’ve been listing Skyquake’s little EHP pitstop to have existed at least 50 years before the war reached our planet, but what if I pushed it all the way back to 500; if a vorn is 83 years, that’d be about 6 years on an entirely different planet not knowing truly if your twin is going to make it, a planet which by the way presently has no established radio systems that it’s horrifically quiet for a terrestrial environment.

That means that Skyquake’s EHP Comms Array has been transmitting a signal long before humans had developed radio, which also means that what might’ve been blatantly an anomaly in the system if discovered 50 odd years previous to 2012 (which would’ve been in the 60s give or take which would not have been good in the literal middle of the cold war era) has been going for centuries because it had always been there, there is no anomaly because it is a signal that has existed ever since humans were able to manipulate radiowaves into sending messages and translate them into detectable noise. It helps that cybertronian language and code (both code lang and like literal programming code) is a system unknown to humans developing their own language.

And you may be asking, why did I divert this post from talking about CYLAS and how he’d outlast his canon alternate to radio shit? Well, if you were a paramilitary organisation who is pretty good at erasing signals and you discovered a signal that has been actively running for the entirety of human radio has suddenly been silenced, what would you begin to suspect at that?

Aliens may potentially be a stretch but MECH didn’t just name themselves after the cybertronians fighting war on their planet, and once the cybertronian conflict touched down on Earth, the Decepticons hadn’t a need for an intergalactic communications array and in fact was specifically instructed to switch it off in an effort to prevent the Autobots from using it. That would’ve been about maybe 6 years ago for the show (wow just enough equivalent time to match what Skyquake felt he spent grounded to one radio tower look at that) and though MECH would not encounter their first cybertronian until ‘Convoy’ (haha wait that’s s1 e9 the next ep to cover - if necessary - for Altered Loyalties lmao), they would’ve had 6 years to find that missing signal and stumble across some very definitely alien technology.

That is one of the reasons why the rewrite of ‘Masters and Students’ which is less masters and students focused - rather the point is Skyquake, a team of Nemesis stationed vehcions and Starscream investigate the comms array and set it up manually - why the radio tower wasn’t switching on from a remote position.

The other reason was because the Guardian unit stationed at the comms array - the very ones that had accompanied Skyquake all those stellar cycles ago - had gone missing. Why?

Because of Megatron’s flagrant use of Dark Energon.

Points 1 and 2 listed above leads to the explosion of the comms array, the death of Skyquake, and MECH either being alerted to the point of alien contact or just in general going to the site for more study only to find a dead specimen. After the discovery of the Autobots with the body of Skyquake, MECH begins their initial study and dissection of cybertronian physiology, though without a live subject they couldn’t exactly see what parts function in what way, especially the t-cog.

The discovery of Skyquake led to the discovery of terrorcons which lead to the discovery of how to take down a cybertron and how to take it apart without it screaming. MECH would learn the programming of a cybertronian through vehicon terrorcons since, even with DE corruption, their processors are still somewhat being maintained. While probably not able to access memories (they are fickle things, memory centres, easy to damage storage or to corrupt files) there are still systems responsible for pain and other more processor based responsibilities that aren’t centred in a physical organ that reads in fine print it’s function.

Breakdown being MECH’s first fully functional living mecha for their study is so exciting for them (even if Breakdown is very much less enthused) because they can put what knowledge they’ve pieced together to be far more efficient with their time and focus on the elements they could not decipher from either corpse or zombie and potentially try and prod at Breakdown’s brain for some cohesive coding. Good think Bulkhead still shows up when he does even with Breakdown walking away with the dreadful thought of ‘how the hell do these fleshies already know so much’ boring into his head… mainly through the optic that was still drilled out-

Whether or not MECH needs to get another living cybertronian to get caught up in their understanding of the biomechanics of them (aka would 'Operation: Bumblebee' take place as it does) or they skip right onto making a remote control Prime having gotten a headstart on their knowledge and scaring the scrap out of any bot unlucky enough to be unconscious around them, eventually Silas gets smooshed and MECH scientists are reliant on their alien dissections to get the human puree back to the land of the living.

I'd assume that this was the case in the original since if Silas' biomatter was able to be collected from a pile of robot drone induced rubble the RC truck would've been able to be recovered as well, but MECH discovers that using Nemesis Prime as a lifesupport system does not work given all it's functionality is focused on visually replicating another cybertronian, rather than using it to create life. There's a lot of parts and systems to a cybertronian's biological ecology that wasn't put into consideration for a mimic toy that prove detrimental to creating a suitable ah... skin suit essentially for Silas' blood pudding, but MECH has an abundance of corpses ready and raring to be used just so long as they piece them back together again.

Amid MECH's collection would no doubt be a mass of vehicon bodies - some untouched by energon others taken down explicitly by MECH because they were terrorcons - some terrorcons made up from the bodies of the previous conflict pre-show (and not just a hypothetical ancient war, but explicitly the conflict that culled a lot of Autobot and Decepticon officers amid the show expected vehicon death), and the very first cybertronian sample they started studying, Skyquake himself! Being at the origin of the blast at the EHP Comms Array he wasn't kept in perfect condition for one, the arm he loses as a terrorcon in the Shadowzone is still lost - it's been buried under rubble after being severed with radio tower pieces - and the monochromatic glass over his optics has long since been shattered so you can see the 'pupil' aka sensor, but seeing as how CYLAS makes Breakdown's corpse somehow look worse than what Airachnid left it as MECH probably has to suture that fucker back up because there's not way his organs have been left untouched!

And once CYLAS has been successfully integrated into his new cybertronian shell (some sort of arm, either being a loaner from another corpse or straight up just one MECH invented, it could even be a copy of the missing arm but where's the fun in that) instead of getting all high and mighty about 'being of a superior species' Silas actually bloody thinks on MECH's plans going forward. With a literal army of paramilitary personnel, from the scientists that melded human flesh with cybertronian wires to the average grunt soldier fighting between the battles of iron giants, CYLAS has something that Megatron (at least the Altered Loyalties Megatron I have written previously) has wanted from the start of the series...

An undying force.

For as large as cybertronians physically are their numbers can never match the scale of humanity, I can't remember if the books mentioned only thousands of the dead or up to a million over the course of like... a long fucking time but, that's not even the number of the human population if you're caught up with the number (nearly 8 billion alive today). And with the dead of previous battles already roaming the Earth, in a world where Megatron still being only like one dude can't command a planet wide population of zombies, the only reason he doesn't turn his blade to the weakest denominators of his forces in his plagued state is because their conscious decision to serve him is worth more than mindless servitude.

CYLAS introducing himself and MECH as a solution to this issue, and providing a show of bountiful body horror, makes not even the Decepticon high command quite as safe as they had been; not that it's been proven to be safe standing by Megatron's side given his track record of wanting his SiCs beaten or killed but...

The fact that CYLAS just so happened to have given and then promptly brutalised Dreadwing's hope that Skyquake may have been actually alive, just severely damaged (and, bond weakened from distance and prior injury, clinging to the last shreds of 'my spark didn't kill me with him' reasoning) and broke him out of the spell of blind loyalty to his once great leader.

CYLAS in this version has a little bit more longevity to his existence within the Decepticon forces, not actually a Decepticon soldier as the canon CYLAS pledged himself as but 'The Human Factor' the episode so calls itself akin to the way the American government and the human children are to the Autobots, but being able to physically go toe-to-toe with cybertronians. Megatron might be a little tired of dealing with independents after Airachnid's escapade (I do intend to make her more into a poacher/torturer type character than another Starscream so she might act out a little differently), but Silas isn't one for licking boots anytime soon and as CYLAS, Megatron is no different; you'd think he wouldn't have even done that in the first place given he's already an ex-military 'take-no-nonsense' bitch, but the Breakdown in him probably made him a lapdog...

Anyway that's a whole big post about Altered Loyalties CYLAS... or at least the in depth reasoning behind why he could still integrate himself into the story and why he'd probably have more opportunity to lasting- i prommy it's not bc i like torturing skyquake likers *wink*

I guess this is now a canon event or at least I'll try to make it canon ;)

me writing a hypothetical short story with my funny main four Lob Corp Captains team (of them dealing with a Pink Shoes possession), leading into them really digging into their dynamics and goals (Rema sees them as a family and it's implied the others do too - even Nine), leading into meta-narrative on the City (Nine musing about what constitutes 'freedom' in the City), looping back into the usual chicanery they're known for (Nine helping an injured Rema up after the fight, Rema teases him about having emotions for once, Nine promptly getting annoyed and dropping his injured ass back on the floor). it is 4:22am where i am btw :)

Kingdom Hearts 4 Challenge Day 6: A World to Revisit

Atlantica

(So, I swear all of my posts really aren't meant to be about Kairi. Like, I was going to make this cool manip where it looked like Sora was saving Melody from drowning, but my Sony Vegas refused to open for some reason? So I just decided to post these similar images of Melody and Kairi instead. That being said... while I don't need Kairi to be the one to go to a The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea world if we ever got one--I'd be more than okay with it being Sora--that would be cool. I'd love to see mermaid Kairi, since Kairi is named for the sea. And Kairi's name can even mean "melody." And she has a lot in common with Ariel. I even suspect she was somewhat based on Ariel, but anyway.)

The reason I would want Atlantica is honestly just because I would want a pretty underwater world again with the Unreal Engine graphics. And that can be a world that we've never been to before, like, Atlantis: The Lost Empire. But if we don't get a new one, then I would want an old one like Atlantica here. Plus... even though I don't think this movie is the greatest. At all. I feel like it's okay... and depending on how they handle it, the KH writers could potentially make it better, with what they add to it. Also, I feel like if we go to Atlantica one more time--with better swimming controls, and in an attempt that isn't a musical--we could finally redeem the world. And that would be great to see.

And now, for whatever reason, I'm going to list some other worlds I'd be more than okay with returning (even though I think we were only supposed to list one. Shh.)

Wonderland: But only if the world is expanded and it's a "sequel," via it being based on Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

Deep Jungle: I know this will surely never happen, since I know Disney has lost the rights to Tarzan. But on the off-chance they ever got the rights back somehow, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing this world back again, perhaps adapting some of the stories from the TV show, like the stuff with Princess La.

Agrabah: I definitely want to go here one more time and to have the "Aladdin and the King of Thieves" story depicted. (I probably would even prefer this even over Atlantica, actually, even though I want that pretty underwater level). This was one of the better Disney sequels, after all. And Sora most definitely deserves to be there for Aladdin and Jasmine's wedding.

Neverland: I wouldn't be opposed to the second Peter Pan movie being adapted.

The Land of Dragons: I'd be all for us having Mulan II, actually.

The Beast's Castle: I've always wanted "Beauty and the Beast and the Enchanted Christmas." I want to fight Forte. LOL. While I doubt it will happen, for obvious reasons, I feel like they could find a way to do it: like Belle writes Sora and the gang a part of her and the Beast's story that they don't know about (the Enchanted Christmas story) and sends it to them as a gift (maybe even for Christmas?), and once Sora opens it, he somehow gets pulled into said story.

Pirates of the Caribbean: I wouldn't mind a "Dead Men Tell No Tales" world.

The Lion King II: Simba's Pride would be awesome.

I would also kill for Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.

While part of me is loath to mention this one... I feel like no one was completely satisfied with the La Cité des Cloches world in Dream Drop Distance (because of lack of NPCs and that kind of thing). And there is a "The Hunchback of Notre Dame II" that Disney made. Absolutely no one likes this movie, and for good reason. But I don't know... I would be willing to tolerate it, just to see this world in the quality it deserves. And maybe Square Enix could somehow make it better... actually, surely not. But like I said: I could tolerate this just to run around Notre Dame in pretty Unreal Engine graphics.

I know that originally with DDD, the plan was Sora to go to all of the original Fantasia locations and for Riku to go to the ones in Fantasia 2000. But then they realized there were enough locations in the first movie for them both to go to, and they didn't need to crank out the sequel after all (or something like that). So I certainly wouldn't mind getting Fantasia 2000 now, in KHIV.

Tangled I'd love to go here again, if we get to see some of the cool plots from the TV show, that I've watched on YouTube. LOL

Arendelle We all know we'll be going here. It isn't even a question. I just hope that this time, Disney gives Square Enix much more freedom (let Elsa and Anna be party members, please). Since Frozen II is kind of hit and miss. Square Enix could really make something cool with it--like they could have with Frozen in KHIII--if they're allowed some creativity.

Wreck-It Ralph Because no one, and I mean no one, wanted us to first experience this world in KHUX, tbh.

Radiant Garden I just really want to finish some of the plot threads there that are still hanging.

Destiny Islands I just really want to be able to go back here and play, dangit! And maybe finally get to explore the main island!

Shibuya Just let us meet Neku, Shiki, Beat, Joshua, and Rhyme in their Shibuya (even if it's an in the credits thing), if Quadratum isn't theirs and we're not going to meet them (or the Wicked Twisters) in the game, otherwise.

Yuri's dialogue (JP) is so fascinating to study, like... the repetitive use of certain words/phrases that others use sparingly but he uses constantly. the way it feels like his vocabulary is more expansive than what he uses, but he defaults to a "comfort" level of speech. the way it mixes in with his sort of "street talk" words and the sheer level of informality. the way his "street talk" phrasing is contrasted by the tone of his voice (on that note, people I know who also know JP are also very endeared by these aspects of him so I KNOW IT'S NOT JUST ME!!!).

'cause the thing is, he uses phrases that yeah, other people do use, but he uses a handful over and over and over (contrast to other characters' sparing use of repetition). it's actually... really refreshing? it sounds more relatable and less "video game/anime/JRPG/RPG" writing or something, idk. like closer to how a real person would speak.

I do my best in my translations not to make things sound too stiff across the board, but Yuri makes it so easy. it's why I'm so interested in translating all his lines in Vesperia, like... the actual, original tone for him with his original wording because it's smth Eng only players don't get to experience ('cause even if you listen with JP audio, if you don't know the language, ofc you're gonna miss out on context. it's nobody's fault for not knowing, just... they unfortunately miss out). the thing is, there are a lot of times when the lines in and of themselves are not contextually incorrect in the English ver (usually the situation for smaller scenes, because they altered the text outright for more important stuff which was the stuff that originally set me off, but there were also plenty of cases of just vocal tone shifting with the correct context that still gave off the wrong impression), but Yuri's tone is shifted away from the original in Eng even though it's completely and perfectly translatable.

I am by no means about to translate the entire game because let's face it, I really don't care that much for Vesperia on the whole. I'm kinda stuck with it because Yuri's there lo and behold I actually am WAY more engaged in his stories in Rays, Link and Asteria because it's an amazing character put into circumstances where he actually gets to shine and feels more alive, which Vesperia did not provide nearly as well with its very disjointed story. also, Tales gachas have banger stories that are arguably better than the mainline games, and they regularly make Yuri a very central character to the gachas. Crestoria was also about to do it until they pulled the plug on that game and I'm pretty confident something interesting has been lost to the world. also I just generally don't have the energy or motivation to do that, so... I'll only be focusing on Yuri's lines, especially because his stuff is where the bulk of the messing around was. he's just insanely fun to translate for and I love burying myself head first into his speech.

will I actually finish this project? dunno. will I get around to posting it? whatever I get done (so all of it if I complete it), and if I decide to call it quits then I'll post what I have at the time I decide that. will it take a long time? probably, but I can always mention stuff along the way...

So understandably we're back to talking about the quality of the Seine again. (The Paralympics are on now, with competition having started just today!!)

So hear me out: swimming in open water is literally part of the sport. They... have to have done worse than this, right? When I was watching the Olympic marathon swim (open water, in the Seine), the commentators were talking for a while about how yeah this is pretty decent really, a lot of these athletes (read: ones who are primarily marathon swimmers rather than primarily/exclusively pool swimmers who were like "fuck it, why not") have swum marathons in worse just this year.

And now like people are going "oh no, not the Seine again, protect the poor Paralympians!" which like FIRST of all somehow the language being used is rubbing me the wrong way SO hard (it's giving "Paralympians are delicate and must be coddled" which... holy shit do you actually KNOW any Paralympians?? I do, actually! She could lay me or just about any one of my able-bodied friends flat if she wanted to. That might even include my Olympian friend lmao.)

...and SECOND of all... these are triathletes. Like, they see the same conditions (water, air, all of it) as triathletes who aren't part of para-sport. They chose this sport. Not only that, they chose this sport so hard that they're the best in the whole world at this sport! They're full-grown adults making their own decisions regarding their health and their sport! Respect those decisions and stop treating them like they don't know what's going on! They do!

Now none of this is to say that the people working on the Seine should at any point here stop absolutely busting their asses in trying to ensure that the river is as safe and clean as possible (I will be fucking furious if they stop!). But the reasons they absolutely should keep on that are a hell of a lot more complex than, clutches pearls "but think of the wee children Paralympians!"

Oreo struggles most with not only asking for affection, but accepting affection. They're so used to being the caretaker/leader that they feel the need to hide their negative emotions. They're the one the other Punks go to most for support, so they need to be the strongest mentally.

Yet, when they feel the want to be held or caressed or even getting a hug or holding hands, they think they're weird. Wrong. Bad. Oreo shakes it away as much as possible. The others need it more. They'll be fine. They can get over it. They can get better.

Don't you dare ask if they're okay though. If you suspect they're not in the best moods and you ask out of concern, it's going to be hard to not cry right then and there. Oreo's gonna instinctively go into hiding if that happens.

Pachinko's the only one who gets in Oreo's face about it though. He hates how reclusive they are. Be fuckin honest. Cherri is too afraid to upset Oreo, and Keno doesn't know how to make the situation better. It ends up with the two fighting and Oreo genuinely angry and shoving Pachinko away, but... it can end with Oreo caving in and accepting the embrace. Oreo lays on Pachinko, Cherri sandwiches them, and Keno pets Oreo's head.
