Oreo struggles most with not only asking for affection, but accepting affection. They're so used to being the caretaker/leader that they feel the need to hide their negative emotions. They're the one the other Punks go to most for support, so they need to be the strongest mentally.

Yet, when they feel the want to be held or caressed or even getting a hug or holding hands, they think they're weird. Wrong. Bad. Oreo shakes it away as much as possible. The others need it more. They'll be fine. They can get over it. They can get better.

Don't you dare ask if they're okay though. If you suspect they're not in the best moods and you ask out of concern, it's going to be hard to not cry right then and there. Oreo's gonna instinctively go into hiding if that happens.

Pachinko's the only one who gets in Oreo's face about it though. He hates how reclusive they are. Be fuckin honest. Cherri is too afraid to upset Oreo, and Keno doesn't know how to make the situation better. It ends up with the two fighting and Oreo genuinely angry and shoving Pachinko away, but... it can end with Oreo caving in and accepting the embrace. Oreo lays on Pachinko, Cherri sandwiches them, and Keno pets Oreo's head.

gwilanna made a comment at some point about zanna having remarkable aptitude given her father was a human - so the (tangentially? almost?) fain/magic has to come from her mother. Based on Henry and Agatha, I presume it's either less likely/impossible for men to be sibyls anyway? they get the seer powers and animals.

ANYWAY, Morgan was the last active sibyl - once her husband died, she did her best to instill a fear of romance in every George to come. She did try, but Elaine was her daughter, and Lydia was her grandaughter.

Elaine was pretty rebellious against the whole learning the family trade thing and ran off to fall in love instead. When she died, Morgan took in her granddaughter. She trained Lydia in the natural medicine/divination aspects, but then Lydia fell in love with the first normal man she met (a dental student, no less!!), and everything snowballed again. Morgan's had enough of these love-struck women fr - she stopped intervening all together after that and only got back in contact with Lydia after the divorce.

It's my expert opinion that there's a curse of some kind running down the George line - all the men seem to die far before their partners, and often during her pregnancy. Weird, right? Lucky for Paul, it was slacking that year and he survived to the divorce. Now he can be a gay dentist forever, I guess.

Lydia and Paul were so different that it took fifteen years for the novelty to wear off and they realised they didn't have a thing in common. DIVORCE!! WOO!! Then Paul had a latent gay awakening at 45- good for him <3 He is otherwise boring to the point of irritation. He has no sense of smell. His diet is beige. He owns twelve of the same shirt and trousers. He hasn't changed his grocery list in three decades. He loves it this way.

As no slight at all to her, Becca follows in his footsteps - she gets a normal desk job and meets her normal boyfriend and they have a normal life together. They just probably shouldn't have kids if she wants him to make it to middle-age. Not that Lydia's going to bring that up at any point - why would she? Seems to have stopped all on its own.

Lydia doesn't dislike her children, but she probably wouldn't have had any if she'd thought about it for more than a few seconds. She likes that they exist. They're a lot more interesting now they're adults, and she sends them birthday and christmas gifts every year based on that one thing the girls said they liked at eight years old. Sometimes she gets them backwards.

Lydia's probably some sort of literature teacher, a bit of a recluse in the countryside. She taught Zanna all about plants when they'd go walking around the cottage and fostered her interest in geography. If she found out about Zanna's sibyl powers, she'd have been very proud, and probably killed Gwilanna with her bare hands. David would have concerned her mildly, but she'd have found the died and un-died thing hilarious.

As for everyone else, Paul's father is a doctor and his mother's some kind of heiress - anyway, that's where the generational wealth and the Surrey cottage come in. The dentist salary supports the swanky car lifestyle for his daughters.

Richard... exists <3 evidently i must have had lots of thoughts about him before, given he's been in one of my fics for ages. Did i write any of it down, though? no <3 He's a paediatrician and very nice. Probably at least a little boring if the relationship with Paul's going to work out. The lack of bloodline curses is probably working in his favour. They have a very low-key wedding.

Charlie Redesign!

I want charlie to look super out of place in Hell. I wanted her color palette to resemble the sky, as the sky can symbolize infinity and is usually associated with the place gods reside, high above it all. The main point is looking super out of place in Pride, which will carry over to Vaggie. I made her colors bright because i can’t be bothered to alter the colors of Viv’s hell to dull it down and from the trailer it doesn’t seem like shading is that important. Not shitting on that btw, i hate shading my drawings. 

The way I imagine this version of Charlie is that she helps do the paperwork side of things, since Viv’s hell is just earth but red, I'm just assuming her heaven will be similar. Charlie helps schedule things, she’s kind of a secretary and works under Adam to help make sure the Exterminations go smoothly. She takes stock of weapons, sees what was lost, tallies up the total deaths, general stuff like that, you feel me? She doesn’t like the Exterminations; she thinks it’s horrific and that the people in hell ought to have a chance to come to heaven. 

So it’s basically the exact same plot as before and her personality is the same because Charlie was the only character i liked from the pilot the others all had something that threw the vibes off slightly. Charlie’s relationship with Alastor will be a little different, because he’s one of her benefactors. He wants to watch the pretty little angel’s plans crash and burn, and she is determined to prove him wrong. Side note while I'm thinking of him, I’m changing the overlords – they aren’t sinners that got powers because sinners don’t have powers in this version. Well, no, they are sinners, just sinners that made contracts with demons and gained favor with hell during their lives, earning their own place in the hierarchy of hell. Speaking of which, it goes: Sinners, Overlords, Hellborn, Ars Goetia, Princes/Seven Sins. Overlords are given the power to torture other sinners (so it makes sense that Valentino makes Angel’s life miserable, it’s his job to torment other sinners) 

Once the show actually drops, I might add more benefactors in my rewrite. Like, since Alastor is backing Charlie, the cannibals from cannibal colony will be friendly towards her, things like that. Hell, maybe Val backs her, idk don’t want to jump the shark. 

Either way, i think Charlie being an angel sets her up for a better character arc with her naivete and attitude towards sinners. Also i think my design for her is literally beautiful she’s so pretty, she’s my baby i love her. And for the sake of making things easier, i fused her little goats Razzle and Dazzle with the key cat KeeKee because i think having three cute little pets is too many and R/D didn’t really do anything in the pilot. I’ve doodled them a bit, haven’t settled on a design yet. In my mind this little kitty is a cherub thing that Husk adores as his first hint of not being a complete ass.

𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚’𝐬 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲

I was rereading my old biology textbooks, and became fascinated by the process of fertilization again. I was annoyed by how it was rarely explained to us during teaching that the egg goes through a process of elimination. Choosing the right sperm, not just letting the best swimmer in willy nilly. This natural process had me thinking about the minimization of women’s autonomy in fiction. The concept of fated partnerships and how media always depicts female characters as non-participants in their union with the main male-lead. Similarly, the trope of “Winning the girl in the end”.  Without nerding out on what I read too much, I just found the parallel interesting.

In the case of Attack On Titan, I think Mikasa and Eren’s romantic relationship became spoilt by certain audience member’s belief that their dynamic was forced and one-sided. I partially blame this on the directing choices made for the anime. Choosing to erase interactions or completely replacing/altering Armin with Mikasa in emotionally intimate scenes with Eren (further pushing the narrative of Mikasa being obsessive). 

The biggest contributor to this “forced chemistry” view, in my opinion, was the finale. A lot of audience members left the finale thinking Mikasa was somehow still at the mercy of fate and her connection to Founder Ymir (the headaches). But, we can’t dismiss the autonomy in her decision to kill Eren, in part ending the cycle of titans. A decision Eren was well aware of and consenting to. One of the major themes in AOT, if not the main one, is freedom. Eren becomes disillusioned by it, yet Mikasa expresses that core-value wholeheartedly. Although, we can say she becomes burdened by the choice she made in the end. Louise literally idolizes both Eren and Mikasa for this core-value, they are freethinkers, showing bravery and strength by fighting against injustice. Mikasa was never a slave to the Eren, she did not support the rumbling, she defied authority for her loved ones. Her headaches were a result of the childhood trauma from her parents murder. They always reoccurred when she was reminded loss, while acting as a foil to Ymir. The young girl who had who her agency stripped from her too soon, with a partner she did not love or want. I have my qualms about the writing of Mikasa, and the reliance on the audience to do most of the work in explaining her complexities. A story for another day.

(Right: Here, Ymir appears as grown women rather than a powerless little girl. Her potential strength and resilience reflected back to her through Mikasa.)

So, how does this correlate to the birds and bees talk? It’s about people being equals. Mikasa’s affection for Eren doesn’t just happen to her, it develops between the two symbiotically. It’s echoed in the show's various symbolisms. The foreshadowing of the praying mantis decapitating its mate, mirroring Mikasa and Eren’s final scene is another symbolic image I can’t help but think relates to this idea of choice and consent.

Beyond the heartbreak and relief Eren might have been feeling when he met his end, I’d like to think there was a level of respect he had for Mikasa in that moment. While he was so intoxicated by the pursuit of freedom, she was utterly free, and he knew she was the only one capable of stopping him. He inspired fortitude in her when she wanted to give up, and despite losing him, she carved out a life of her own beyond him.

There is still a debate about her love life in the epilogue. Whether she married Jean, a new guy, was single, had her own children, or adopted. I’d like to believe she saw her herself as deserving of love after Eren, even while grieving him the whole time. Children or not, marriage or not, Mikasa Ackerman was admirable beyond measure, remaining in the driver seat of her life the entire time.

Okay I'm done yapping! (Btw: l believe both Mikasa and Armin were Eren's soulmate I digress...) If Mikasa has no fans, I am dead.

Can I just say I kind of feel sorry for the writers because you can tell they conceived the show as revolving around Haladriel and they really don’t want to deal with the Celeborn issue so they play lip service while writing something completely different lol.

To be fair though Tolkien himself wasn’t interested in him or him and Galadriel as a pairing especially when you compare how he writes his epic romances. It really feels like he was put there so we can get Arwen pretty much. And then she leaves without him to Valinor while he’s left mourning her which 🤣.

But yeah as far as the show goes if they didn’t want fans to see Haladriel as romantic they would have shown her grieving Celeborn…instead of falling in love with her arch enemy. This is just my opinion though but you can’t say how much she loves and grieves Celeborn while showing the complete opposite on the show. There was a way to center the relationship between her and Sauron without it being framed as romantic/soulmates but they didn’t which tells you everything you need to know.

even before trop, it has been believed that the only reason tolkien wrote celeb0rn was to somehow connect galadriel to arwen and elrond.

the initial plan was for gal to marry elrond, but tolkien wanted galadriel to be the leader in her own right (it is her main defining trait) and keep doing her own thing. he did not want her to be defined by her husband/child. if she was married to elrond, she would be known as elrond's wife/arwen's mother first. so he gave her a npc family in the background instead.

but even then, i'd say her relationship with elrond is still more important in the books. and in the movies, she even seems closer to gandalf, lmao. so i'd say it would be better to focus on her relationship with elrond and establish her friendship with gandalf rather than introduce a new love interest (bc yeah, even if it's not explicitly romantic, haladriel is romantically framed).

btw, don't even get me started about how everyone seems to forget about finrod??? the one galadriel misses, the real "third" between her and sauron, her "guiding light" IS FINROD! nenya symbolizes galadriel's desire for power = sauron and galadriel's light/wisdom she got from finrod! nenya was made by sauron's design and using finrod's dagger! it's like sauron and finrod's battle continues within galadriel.

i don't dislike celeb0rn, but i think it's crazy that he was created so that galadriel can't be reduced to the domestic role and yet certain segments of the fandom do that anyways - reduce her to being her npc family's wife/mother in the show that intends to explore other aspects of her story and identity!

and idk man, but i feel like tolkien must have had some ideas for sauron and galadriel. "he gropes ever to see me and my thought" feels very significant. and they mirror each other in several ways as well.

trop does a fantastic job at giving this dynamic context. galadriel's greatest desire is to possess power, sauron's greatest desire is to posses the light. it makes sense for them to have a push-pull dynamic that's both intimate and cosmic in its' essence. the perfect way to expand on all the little details connecting sauron and galadriel in the lore. and it's just a fascinating story on its' own!

it would be such a waste to discard this dynamic for the sake of introducing the character that was never supposed to be that important. especially considering that the writers seem to have the show conceived with haladriel as its' core in their minds.

so because i have aphantasia and my imagination is shit it’s taking me FOREVER to solidify designs for the characters in any of my fics, more specifically mcd. so far i have like… three or four characters partially figured out (and two of them ain’t even main characters bro the tragedy 😔) anyway here are those little headcanons. these are all sort of specific to my rewrite btw

Sasha: okay so I know i’ve said in tpwp that she has a gap between her top teeth and i will stand by that. that is true in all timelines. in modern universes she also has a septum and a bunch of ear piercings. i was thinking an eyebrow too but idkkkk. and maybe her belly button too??? idk i feel like she would have more piercings but i can’t decide what ☹️. anyway in mcd her hair is super short. someone brought up her long hair being mistaken for a veil and like sasha the forever bride or something and i played with that for a bit but decided to just give her really short hair. she also has severe burn scars all over her body from how she died in the Nether so 👍🏼

Gene: despite the thousands of words i’ve written about him i don’t think i’ve ever actually described him beyond his basic black hair blue eyes appearance uhm. anyways. in my head modern au Gene has an eyebrow piercing, snakebites, his lobes, something like an industrial or a helix or whatever goes up there idk. later in life i feel like he gets his lobes stretched. in mcd he only has one lobe pierced as a memento for his dead dad. also in mcd he has a scar that goes all the way around where his neck meets his shoulders because he was ✨beheaded✨ after he tried kidnapping Cassandra. fun times guys that’s all i have for him

Garroth: actually the least developed but i need to throw the ideas somewhere so i have them anyways. completely void of any piercings or scars in modern universes. idk he just gives that vibe. in mcd though. he has a couple smaller ones on his hands and maybe forearms just from sparring at the guard academy. BUT i have this tradition thing O’Khasis does where new guard graduates sent to their city sort of duel among themselves (think like jousting) and so Garroth went against the head guard of O’Khasis and ended up losing the match. basically he has a scar that starts in his hairline that goes down through his eyebrow and barely misses his eye from where he was thrown against the floor. it ends on like the apple of his cheek

Laurance: modern Laurance has his lobes pierced and he has those big diamond studs some guys get. in mcd he has one lobe pierced and from it he has a lotus (the flower and symbol of Irene) dangling. he often connects it to a cuff that goes on the shell/outer part of his ear. and then his entire body has a ton of scars from all periods of his life and he can tell you how he got almost all of them. like some of them are stab wounds, from falling down, marks from orphanages, some burns, he’s got a lot because he was on the run for like the first fourteen years of his life, and during that time he was often abused

Yes! I did indeed create a theoretical formula for my time-travel theory that I ALSO invented for a South Park fanfic! Why do you ask?

Jokes aside, I think it’s time for me to break down the formula to explain what all these symbols mean and tell you my thought process while making this. For starters: I’m not a scientist, astrophysicist, mathematician, or smart enough person to exactly know what the hell im even saying. I was only able to have a solid grasp on what this all means because of my more smarter friends, google searches, and physics-related YouTube video essays. Anyways….

Realistically, in order to make something like this work in real life, you’re going to need to know AND have these three major components:

Understand/study everything you know about gravity and the theory of relativity.

Solve the creation of a wormhole and be able to control it within an enclosed space

Create a “Blind Filter” to prevent a total collapse on neighboring grids/columns

Have tools, devices, and technology advanced enough to: detect anomalies and measure temporal signatures in spacetime, create maps of gravitational fields, generate copious amounts of energy to keep a wormhole stable during transit, and have quantum computers to perform complex calculations for navigation.

If you don’t have none of these things, time travel won’t be possible 😔🤙. But, if you do… well.. perhaps it wouldn’t hurt to try! Anyways, let’s start with the first equation!

Wormhole Stabilization: The main purpose for this equation, is purely for the stabilization of a wormhole’s throat to prevent a total collapse! Mind you, wormholes have never been discovered to be an actual thing— it’s all purely a theoretical possibility— unlike black holes!!! Throughout my research, I took refrences from Einstein field equation and the Morris-Thorne wormhole metric in general relativity! Like I mentioned, we won’t know how the equation truly works because we don’t have an actual point of reference, therefore, this equation could be a bunch of hippy dippy bologna!! [*So are all the equations I will mention btw*]. This equation can be rewritten depending on how wormholes would actually work in a non-theoretical sense… BUT ANYWAY— if it were to work, this formula could be something that keeps a wormhole stable in order to be traversable through time!!

Grid/Column & Gravity: Yeah, pretty self explanatory. Because I had to create a formula that needed to be connected to the One-Tab Guide, then the purpose of this formula is to FIND a grid and column by combining general relativity and gravity. There are so many theoretical grids, and the columns are even harder to find since they’re interwoven with other grids/columns!

Spacetime Interval Adjustment: Also pretty self explanatory! This calculates the spacetime distance between the current and targeted timelines. It’s specifically modified for multiversal travel! See, the one-tab guide isn’t just a formula to help with time-travel, but it’s also a formula that can allow multiverse travel across multiple dimensions!!! Wow!!! Personally, I feel like multiversal travel would be a whole lot more easier to accomplish with this formula compared to to the possibility of time traveling in your own column. You won’t really have to worry about exact calculations because you basically just pick and choose which area outside of the specialized grid you wanna go 🤷‍♂️! Though, if you want to go to a time and place in a certain multiverse where YOU exist, you’ll probably have to be more specific with that calculation in order to find your parallel self (if said universe even has one).

Temporal Signature Correction: When you want a certain location marked, you use a geographic coordinate system! And with parallel travel, it’s a Temporal Signature Correction! This basically insures that a traveler goes to the correct timeline by using a unique “temporal signature” (St). No, I still don’t understand quantum mechanics that well (the MCU has ruined the word “quantum” for me). And yes, I still get confused when I think about entropy for too long. Best way to think about it within the context of the one-tab— is that entropy is the universe’s obsession with making things not messy. Each grid could have a unique entropy value to help distinguish between them, higher entropy grids could be more chaotic to the “anchor of reference” of a traveler. Which means if someone messes with time, entropy might fight back by making timelines chaotic or cause a fissure in a grid.

Proper Time Interval: Basically to travel to a specific timeline, the time machine needs to solve the proper time interval required to navigate that targeted timeline. Usually if you miscalculate, you could cause paradoxes, universal fissures, a collapse in the grid, etc.. I guess Autumn will get a little irritated if someone is trying to interfere their quality time with you, like who they think they are to interrupt?

— They also love to doodle you in their notebook and take some notes about you to this day. If they feel bad and you are not around, they always look at them, as some kind of therapy, and it's actually gets better. Will definitely be blushing if you find out about this.

— I guess if you want to braid their hair, Qiu will most likely allow it! And you will be the only one to whom he let to do this. Btw, you can also try to invite them to dance, they'll be ecstatic about it.

— Tamarack is quite shy to the point of inability to express affection first, but don't think less of her! She always stands up for you and always goes with you when she has time, like you know, practically everywhere. She also always takes food and sometimes a first aid kit with her. Tamarack doesn't want you to feel bad in any way, and Qiu do too. Sometimes she has enough food even to have a picnic!

— I think Tamarack would be fond of herbariums! This is part of the forest at her house, isn’t it wonderful? She gives almost all the beautiful ones to you, and if you accept them, then she walks all day happy.

— At the end of the day, Tamarack and Qiu are so in love with you that they cherish every moment you are with them. And they definitely let you know about this in any way they can!

ok so let me be cringe on main for a minute here (this is a joke btw i know cringe isn't real). odd squad mlp au for your consideration

please ask me questions about this by the way i have so much for this. i'll put some of the basic info (it's a lot more than that now but in my defense it started as a basic summary) and a few more drawings under the cut though please look at it with your eyes thank you

so for some basic explanations we have Olive who is a unicorn, Otto who is a pegasus, Olympia who is a part unicorn earth pony (which i'll explain in a sec), and Otis who is a full blooded pegasus (which i'll also explain the importance of in a moment). i haven't drawn Ms. O, Oscar or Oona yet but they are an alicorn (formerly an earth pony), a unicorn, and an earth pony respectively

Olive and Otto are the only two that i've come up with cutie mark designs for so far (they are so hard to design..) but Olympia and Otis have them too, they just get them mid-season. specifically after the talent show. i'm designing them side by side so that they kinda match because they get them at the same time and also they're besties your honor, but anyways theirs are a little fireworks design and some sort of a swan design because y'know. the ugly duckling story. and also i think part of his talent is dancing and like swan lake exists etc etc. and yes this does mean that he's a little bit scared of his own cutie mark at times but he just tries not to think about it and usually covers it with his wings anyway. all four of their cutie mark meanings are kinda abstract personality trait related things

Olive got hers after stopping the pienado because character development moments, which also kinda means that she's sorta tied to Todd because of this which she Does Not Like. i'll need to make a whole other post about Todd in this au because he's definitely a guy, but anyways while they were partners Olive was a blank flank and despite how good at his job he was Todd was one too and it was like one of the only things they really had in common, but it also ends up being one of the reasons he goes rogue because not only is Todd bored but he's also frustrated because he's tried everything he can think of and won every award he possibly can and he still doesn't have a cutie mark even though he feels like he definitely should by now because this has to be his talent. why would he be so good at it if it wasn't? he doesn't get his cutie mark until after he reforms btw, because before then he was either too certain about his talent being something else or too busy causing trouble to entertain himself that he never really took the time to stop and discover that his actual interest was gardening and that's when he finally gets his cutie mark. in my head i have this alternate version of Otis's tomato speech where when Todd is like "i'm Odd Todd it's who i am" Otis is just like "that's not what your cutie mark says" and it's very silly but anyways i'm gonna circle this back around to Olive real quick

so on top of Todd's cutie mark being in gardening he also has a sort of side meaning as well in the sense that he's a little bit like the CMC and has a sort of knack for encouraging character growth in others whether he realizes it or not because. encouraging plants to grow.. encouraging people to grow... the whole villain rehab thing...... you see what i'm getting at here. but the funny thing is the first pony he really did this to was Olive and it was completely unintentional. he didn't know that she would get her cutie mark by stopping him, at least not consciously, but she did. it probably takes him quite some time before he actually puts together the fact that he's had that talent the whole time.

Otto's cutie mark is a lot sillier. he actually doesn't know how he got it or what it means (as mentioned earlier it's symbolic but he doesn't know that. also shoutout to Shroom aka Evillandscaper for suggesting a paper crane because i did NOT know what i was gonna make it) he just kinda walked into work one day and Olive was like "oh cool you got your cutie mark?" and Otto was just like "WAIT I GOT MY CUTIE MARK?????" cue a whole silly filler episode involving the two of them trying to figure out what it means and also Olive having a crisis over the fact that Otto can do that pegasus thing where they use their wings like cartoon hands. both of these become running bits from then on. also i drew this comic about it and it might be one of my favorite things i've made for this au honestly

and on the topic of cutie marks as i previously mentioned, Olympia and Otis both get theirs after the talent show and they're also matching a little bit. theirs are also personality things but in addition to that Otis's is also for dancing and Olympia's is for magic, and you may be wondering how an earth pony can be a magic talent and this is where that half unicorn thing comes in!

so Olympia is half unicorn half earth pony which i don't think is too uncommon on its own, but the thing that makes her weird is that she inherited traits from both sides instead of just one over the other, so she actually has unicorn magic but no horn to actually use it with so she's unable to cast actual spells or anything but her magic will kinda spill over at times, especially if she's emotional, and cause things to happen like that one time she exploded into glitter when interviewing Olive or of course the fireworks! she's kind of like the Pinkie Pie character who just does unexplained things sometimes she's just very silly. fun fact in her ref you can see that her mane and tail are sparkly and that's because they kinda just perpetually look like they have glitter in them, but the thing is it's not really glitter it's all just magic. i imagine her coat is like this as well but i just didn't draw it in

also as a side note it came to my attention that she bears an uncanny similarity to Sparkleworks from G3 and i have absolutely no idea how that happened At All. like they have the same cutie mark and everything it's so weird. i've never even watched G3 i'm a G4 kid i legitimately have no clue how the hell this happened. i did make this out of it though

anyways for Otis, he's a pegasus of course but he's specifically a Cloudsdale weather pegasus, which yes i did make up but hear me out. so basically in my mind pegasi born in somewhere like Cloudsdale are more likely to have weather talents or like. stronger abilities in controlling the weather and such, which means stuff like larger wings and weatherproof wings and feathers to make it easier to deal with storms and stuff like that, so basically all this is just an excuse for me to give Otis waterproof feathers like a duck. but anyways since he was still raised by the ducks he doesn't actually know he's from Cloudsdale or anything so he just thinks he's weird for the feathers thing

SO! First of all, I wanna say that we did get the answer to the flower enigma two days ago: the answer is "Tallulah" and we get that by the first letter in the flowers names. However, the "u" is filling a gap, because in the video, instead of a flower that starts with the letter "u", theres a question mark. We do know it's the right answer because when we get the right answer we also get the thank you message, which we did get that day.

NOW. Here's the resolve from the help me message enigma. Once again, I'm translating stuff from cellbit's discord so props to them!

First of all, if you haven't seen it yet, here's the "help me" animation from yesterday's stream.

At almost the same time, forever's channel's twitter accounts posts yet again, with the tweet saying "I need your help, one last time" and a "help me" in echantmant table symbols.

THEN, at the same time, this is where @disfrutalakia post about the arg enters. There's the message on the website that translates into "the sound that the clock does? @v@", with new sound on the background.

They analyzed the website audio's spectrogram, and realized that it's actually a code. "aW5ienlfa21jaHp2b3NfeHd5eG13d2k=". Using the Base64 on this code, it turns into "inbzy_kmchzvos_xwyxmwwi", which, at first look would mean nothing, but following the "the sound that the clock does" clue, they put the code in a TikTok URL, finding the profile @inbzy_kmchzvos_xwyxmwwi

In the description of each video, there's a different code.

ok so he’s not CANONICALLY queer but it’s ace attorney. so… he does, however, canonically have a katana! a sword so integral to the plot it gives me shivers just thinking about it. the sword also has a name, it’s karuma (translates roughly to karma) and it gets passed onto the main character, ryunosuke naruhodo (who he calls partner), after kazuma (spoiler alert) dies in case 1-2. except (SUPER spoiler alert!) he isn’t dead! he comes back in case 2-3 and would you look at that he has ANOTHER SWORD, a more european sword (cause he ended up in england after his amnesia brain said he REALLY had to go to england). once he gets his memories back, ryunosuke gives karuma back to him and proceeds to use it to destroy the wax figure of his dead presumed serial killer dad (long story), and now he has, you guessed it, TWO SWORDS! for the next two cases he wears both swords at his sides, and also he broke the tip off of karuma attempting to murder someone (he didn’t actually murder anyone but still) and then turns out karuma’s hilt has the REAL serial killer’s will in it. very VERY important sword. in the end, kazuma gives karuma back to ryunosuke which is really symbolic but that’s besides the point, and they cross swords and it’s a whole big thing. 10/10 gay sword guy.

He's such a tragic character! Raised to be a super soldier from birth and is constantly being exploited by the government. As for the lgbt part him and his rival in the latest game he's in have so much tension it's unreal (gay). I headcanon him as trans too because he has a feminine figure, his voice gets more masculine as the series goes on (testosterone) and his entire body gets replaced with cybernetics (trans allegory...)

For Claudine Saijou:

Fights with a longsword! Should be number 1 for this line alone: “For heroes, there are trials. For saints, there are temptations. For me, there is you”, said to def not her girl crush but rival btw (stream Revue of Soul) Vote for my disaster theatre kid its what she deserves!

Her gay levels are off the charts. She has a homoerotic rivalry with another classmate (Maya Tendo/Tendou Maya) that is integral to her character, as she was always first until she met Maya. She’s also half-French, but that’ll be important later. When she’s looking at pictures of Maya stretching (to study her form of course) and another character asks her what she’s looking at, she panics, blushes, and says none of your business. Her and Maya have a heartfelt conversation while stretching with Claudine’s face pressed into Maya’s chest (between her stomach and breasts). Some art from a magazine has Maya pushing Claudine into a deep stretch, but it looks like something a lot different (Claudine blushing doesn’t help. Also I realized that there’s a lot of gay stuff related to stretching with these two).

During a two on two duel (I know it’s not a duel), they fight together. Not only that, but at one point they hold hands and take a pose typical of romantic partners in dancing. For no reason. They just pause and do it to show off. They aren’t even fighting. Anyways, when they lose, Claudine starts crying, not because she lost, but because Maya lost. So, of course, Maya starts speaking to her in French, with one of the things she says being “You’re cute even when you cry, my Claudine.” All of this is stuff that’s happened in the series (except the magazine thing).

Now for the gay stuff in the movie. Their duel with each other is so dense with sapphic undertones they can hardly be called undertones. For starters, the song that accompanies this revue is called “A Beautiful Person, or Perhaps it is.” While this title is incomplete, the director states that he wanted the watcher to fill it in and this removed the end of the original title. That title is “A Beautiful Person, or Perhaps it is a Love Song.” The duel is framed as a fight between a hero (Maya) and a devil (Claudine). Maya is in an outfit reminiscent of Renaissance Italy and Claudine is in a suit. Thus, Maya signs a contract giving her soul over to Claudine, as is the case with marriage. With her own blood, in the shape of Position Zero (an important symbol in the show), which happens to look like a T, for Tendou. After a few minutes of fighting, Maya disappears and monologues, appearing in a white dress. This means that Maya has signed her soul over to Claudine, and they are now both wearing a white dress and suit. Not beating the gay marriage allegations. Maya finished her monologue with “For heroes, there are trials. For saints, there are temptations. For me, there is a devil.” They continue to fight, Maya proclaiming herself emotionless and empty. Maya then cuts the medallion from Claudine’s chest (they wear medallions and you lose the duel if it gets cut off).

Claudine falls. Maya attempts to claim victory by stabbing her sword into Position Zero, which is then covered by steel doors. Claudine sits up and reveals she has another medallion in her mouth, which she does by sticking out her tongue in a uhhhh. Anyways, after a bit of back and forth, Claudine tells Maya that she’s full of arrogance and pride and envy and longing. She then says that “No matter how many times I die, I will revive! Tendou Maya! To beat you, my rival, into submission!” She then makes her stage entrance, taking Maya’s usual entrance speech and mocking it. She also says “I fill myself with exploding passion, now, and bash it into your heart!” After some talking, Maya makes her stage entrance, taking Claudine’s usual entrance speech and mocking it. Up until now, they have been playing characters, but still letting their own emotions shine through. Now, they are entirely themselves.

They begin to fight again, running downs white aisle before clashing swords, with Maya saying “Such an ugly, emotion drenched appearance-“ and is cut off by Claudine, who says “Show me more, Tendou Maya! Right now, you’re the cutest you’ve ever been!” To which Maya responds “I’m always cute!”  The song starts up again (duels are accompanied by songs), with Maya singing “With a grin of deception I’ll tear this piece of cloth.” Deception in Japanese is mayakashi, a reference to Maya’s name. Maya then sings “I want to show you my feelings becoming dyed in black.” Black is Kuro in Japanese. Claudine, in Katakana, is Kurodine, with her nickname being Kuro, so that line could also be interpreted “I want to show you my feelings becoming dyed in you.” Claudine then sings “Only me, always, forever,” before they sing in unison “You only need to look at me,” as they lock blades. Some fighting happens and they’re falling through the sky, holding onto each others clothes and Claudine says “Only I can make you lay everything bare!” To which Maya responds “I’ll expose my everything, on the stage!” Claudine shoots back with “There’s a partner you can expose everything to, on the stage!” At this point, there’s a short time with independent vocals for Maya and Claudine in addition to their talking. Maya has been singing “If I’m on the stage, if I’m in front of you,” for the last two lines of dialogue. Claudine sings “Be it ugly or beautiful,” as Maya sings “I will expose, anything and everything, all of me, all of me.” As this happens, Maya is saying “We love the stage,” which is continued by Claudine saying “And we can’t part from the stage!” Maya calls them both “Pathetic clowns!” To which Claudine corrects “No, rivals!” Maya says “If you’re there, I have to strive higher!” Claudine says “You make me even more beautiful! Maya!” Maya then yells “Claudine!” Claudine yells “For heroes, there are trials!” Maya continues “For saints, there are temptations!” Then, as one, their swords crossed, faces inches from each other, yell “For me, there is you!” Over top of this, their voices sing a line in unison: “Forever and ever, I’d like to cross swords with you.”

Claudine’s sword stabs through the contract, through the Position Zero in blood, which may be Maya’s family name, and Maya says as an aside “Saijou Claudine… You are beautiful.” Claudine cuts the medallion from Maya’s chest, finally beating her rival.

jujutsu high needed some renovation especially the flowers. the climate in tokyo had been erratic for a few months now and the poor greens had seen better days. he thought it was best to look for the principal's opinion but decided against it.

why not, seek the help of a florist himself?

hm, he wonders what kind of flowers would make the school more welcoming, a symbolic approach would be much greater or should he worry more about colour? flower arrangements can be completely different too, that might be the main issue to this.

he made some quick calls to the gojo and yaga. saying to yaga that he'll take a quick trip to check out the florist whilst with gojo to take care of the first years which he already was doing a good job at (sarcasm intended with how nobara and itadori was screaming in the background). there was no requests from gojo suprisingly since the flower shop was close to the pastry shop.

he slipped his phone into his pocket and spawned his stingray curse and hopped on, making himself comfortable before they flew right over.

he never really stepped into the flower shop before, it was charming but there was no reason to check it out. the place was aesthetically pleasing and the row of flowers decorating the front of the shop wasn't overwhelming and smelled just right.

"hello, welcome!"

geto smiles to the friendly greeting, greeting them back and stepping to the counter and conversed a bit with you

you caught on to most of his words and it was a bit visible that you looked a bit nervous, he excuses himself, saying that he'll check the flowers first

you were probably a new worker at this shop so he understood, not trying to pressure you too much with questions. he wonders if he was able to tell you what he likes though eventually

meanwhile, you let out a breath you were holding. his japanese was pretty easy to understand up to an extent and your boss wasn't back from her stop at the corner store so you just prayed that his request wasn't that difficult

you did your best to not skimp over the lessons and books you had but you forgot the part where you can get confused and it alarms you when you had stuttered to him. well other than being a newbie at japanese, he was also such a handsome man and quite gentle at that

recognizing the symbol of jujutsu high, he was a sorcerer, you wondered if he was a strong one at that. if so, that added to the list on how attractive he was. you sneaked a few glances at him, he was dissappearing right into the corner of the shop right next to the flower pots

clutching the language book in your hand, you wonder if you should move away from the counter to help him, was that required too? damn, this would've been easier if you asked the boss. you did work behind the shop but never the front!

"excuse me?"

you were immediately snapped out of your thoughts when his soft voice called out for you and you opened the counter board to get to him. oh boy, here goes.

you walked to him with a steady gait and popped right next to him. he was looking between two flowers before he looks at you and smile so prettily that you clutched the side of your apron.

"yes sir?"

his smile reached his eyes as he shifts to one foot to another.

"its okay, dont be nervous."

oh, was it that obvious? you felt your cheeks burn and embarassment flood your system and you try to keep a calm facade. you are so gonna grip your head in your hands after this.

"sorry sir, i'll try my best."

he then waves, hopefully for you to not get too flustered over this and pointed to the flowers and the first thing he asked was which looked better in rows and you nodded, you could do this.

you eased yourself into explaining and was grateful that he understood what you were talking about. you tried to use simpler terms but when it reached the language of these flowers, he chuckled boyishly.

"sorry, i dont understand you.. this part i mean.."

you had him holding his chin and thinking of what to say and you felt another wave of embarassment bubble over. were you too fast? was it too complex, you wanted to scream. you chewed on your bottom lip, looking at him tentatively.

the bell of the shop saved you and it was the sweet old boss that gasped to a face of a customer. she fusses over you a lot, being in a different country from your own is something she understands and it was endearing of her to care.

she had put down her groceries and rushed on over to the man and chirped to him to which he bows politely to her.

you were ushered to take care of the cash register, the old lady winking to you that she could handle it and you sighed.

walking back to the counter, you heard just how talkative your boss was with the man to which he humoured with chatter. inhaling, you swore to yourself to practise more; the book on the counter thrust open and ready for you to read in.

geto was back in his apartment, scrolling through the pictures of the flowers he took today and yawned. he had preferred the blue flowers, the colour and meaning was perfect for the school but the principal preffered the yellow ones more.

he put his phone away, not in the mood to debate flowers right now. he could be lenient and go with yaga's choice but the blue flowers just call out to him.

he drummed his fingers against the table and thought of his day today,

he thought of you.

your sweet smile as he called you over and how you carried yourself. your voice was soothing to his ears and when you started explaining he was hooked onto every word. just how you described these flowers with such adoration is admirable

its just that he felt like the bigger fool when your explanation gets more deeper and he hated to stop you, seeing you pause when he held his hand up made him want to mentally slap himself to stopping you so abrumptly

with the way you bit your lip and scratched the back of your head in embarassment, that makes two of you

he snickered in amusement to himself when he thumbed a book in his hand

the granny had uttered that you would be working at the flower shop daily and in order to communicate with you better, he held an english dictionary

his english had gotten so rusty like a box of nuts and bolts, he remembered shutting away at his dictionaries in his student years for the 'last time' and sighing in exasperation to how he can stop learning such a language

it tickles him how hes now opening a dictionary back up

"what you need that for, you seeing somebody?"

his dictionaries and helping material were all back at his family home in the quiet old village. it was defitenely stored away in the basement, a small box tucked away in a corner

he went and borrowed gojo's one, the one he never stores away just because he doesnt want to clean it up

all gojo got from geto as a response was a grunt as he was waved off

the books were all so clean, that show off probably scanned all the books that he read and called it a day, he was smart after all; annoyingly so.

geto then studied again, feeling the nostalgia of his teen years rushing back to him and spends the night learning the language. his beloved students wondered where geto-sensei was and it was up to gojo and his ridiculous tomfoolery to answer that

the next day, geto went back to the flower shop to see that you weren't near the counter but busy tending with new flower arrivals. he saw you whip your head around as granny greeted him.

he made a beeline towards granny first to idly cht with her first.

"hm, y/n looks like they haven't had that much sleep.."

granny waves her hand before looking back at you who was still so attentive with your work and worries on how you had stayed up to memorize japanese eventhough she herself could help you with that but you had rejected her, telling how you needed to do this yourself.

geto comforts granny that its not out of ill intention, some people are just like that, they dont want to burden people. eventhough that slightly ease the boss of the flowershop, she still couldn't help but be a worrywart for the darling across the flowershop. the brunette then shifted the conversation to the flowers he was supposed to check again and thats where you pop in again.

"granny, geto, may i show you the fresh batches today?" you wiped off some sweat off your brow as you fiddle with the gloves in your hand and glance towards the spot you were working at and they both nodded immediately.

there was a lot of flowers than he presumed and he nodded, tapping his phone to make a few calls. blue it is. he'd mentally prepare himself for an earful from yaga

he'd sign a few papers and in a few days the flowers will soon be arranged at jujutsu high. this was great, the school wont be as bleak as before

granny went to the back to grab a few things and he was now left alone with you, you tried to busy yourself and shoulders so tense from being alone with him

"so why have you decided to work in japan, y/n?"

you look up at him with a sparkle in your eyes and shyly shifting close to him to be polite and chuckle softly. strangely, he was enamoured of your precense and maybe this little interaction blooms into something more than flowers.

Also so sorry for the essay... do ignore this if you don't want to go into this further! I just get rambly about cultures and cultural differences haha

In my family it really depends on who the guest is on what is acceptable behaviour? I guess? Closest to percy and annabeth would probably be my sister and her long term boyfriend (5 -ish years, they're early twenties). He isn't expected to help out, but he's allowed to and does regularly help set the table. In this case he also eats at my parent's at least twice a week. Sometimes he and my sister cook, sometimes they clean etc. (he also helps us host at birthdays sometimes! like offer other guests drinks that kind of stuff) Different example: close family typically helps out in the kitchen. My grandma refuses to let us do anything without her help no matter how insistent we are that "You're our guest! Let us do the work!" she'll just tell us that it would be rude of her to let her (grand)children do all the work while she sits and watches. We also always offer our help when we're over at family. (my mom's best friend, who she has known since college, is the same way btw. She also insists on helping us and we always offer our help when we are visiting her and her family) Now, if the boyfriend's parents came over to eat dinner my parents would not let them lift a finger. Same with neighbours, colleagues and other more casual acquaintances.

If I went off of my own experiences and no further context i'd say that rr is trying to show that percy, annabeth and their friends are very close

I totally get that and I agree it’s context sensitive. HOWEVER. My issues with this scene are as follows:

1. Percy appears to be not doing much of anything in this scene? Like the page I read is just him standing there narrating the scene…….? It literally says “Grover and juniper were setting the table which is usually my job” maybe I’m wrong and I’m missing context but that’s what it read like. But this isn’t rlly my main issue with the food stuff so oh well

2. I have a huge contention with Rick’s push to make Annabeth into a character that is like. Good at and interested in cooking and food handling in general. His justification for her learning to cook appears to be “she’s smart and so ahead in her classes she just decided to” which goes back to my point that I made on my side blog about the poor representation of Annabeth as a “smart adhder”. It feels like a retroactive and lazy justification for a character trait that he has already decided for her when her upbringing and personality has given me no reason to believe she would ever need or care to learn to cook. Her doing so could be an interesting way to explore the way her priorities shift as she gets older as Jules discussed on my post about sohaes last chapter but it’s not being used that way and when he randomly starts pushing his one female character in his main trio to start cooking when both his male characters have a much better characterization for it it also feels somewhat misogynistic and “mommy-ifying” with how heavily the cooking focuses on Annabeth being so so good at cooking

I don’t want this to come off as me saying a female character who cooks is inherently misogynistic but this sudden addition to her character says nothing and does nothing when it can and should. Either she remains not good at cooking and we see food as a medium for care and affection with Percy and Sally as caretakers expecting nothing in return or we see her learn with Sally as a symbolic representation of her gaining smth she lost as a kid. But learning to cook in a class bc she’s just so smart and good at school is… not it.

And even then. What if she does learn in an academic and STRUGGLES with it. How does that interact with her pride? Her personality? Etc.

I think this is a huge issue I have with a lot of the ideas he brings up where they could be incredibly interesting things to explore but he will never take it there so it just feels random. We’re not at a point where we’re supposed to be teaching an audience about a character we’re at the exploring their depth stage and he just. Doesn’t act that way.

3. A cultural issue I guess but my partner would never be allowed to do the work at my parents house but we are sort of a fist fight for the bill type of culture so 🤷‍♂️

Side note: the tangent about Percy being like “wow I’d never think to ask if salad was okay for juniper” followed by the immediate tangent about how hard he’s thought about the feelings of fish and whether or not he eats them was like… something. Idk what but it ticked me off LOOOL
