(one of) my dream games is a super ultrarealistic city-building game and it's (ideally, though unrealistically) set in america or at least in major american cities.
and i mean extremely ultrarealistic. cities: skylines is like dumb as fuck arcade shit compared to what i want. it may as well be townscaper.
i want it to be detailed enough that it's used by actually irl city planners to simulate their building projects. i wanna be taking soil samples and hydrogeological surveys and flood risk assessments. and i want the regulations and zoning to be really complex and detailed.
and again, i want this to be set around real-life locations. there should be an option for "present day" mode where you start working with the city as it exists today or "historical" mode for some previous period in the city's history or "free play" more where it's just the blank slate terrain and no development.
and of course you gotta manage natural resources and tax revenue and population growth and population happiness and all that.
if you wanna make it ideal-ideal then there should also be a complex political/government angle too.
and ideal-ideal-ideal there should also be an army/military dimension as well. and actually you should be able to play as city, county, state, or federal governments. all simultaneously (although obviously these different governments should also be able to govern themselves automatically so you're not having to micromanage).
#basically some combination of simcity/cities: skylines and victoria and crusader kings and command: modern air/naval operations#and democracy and honestly you should even be able to open up a business or something or even be a part of a construction crew#so include all those business/management sim games too#and it should be all of those games in one simultaneously#sims too#you should be able to just play as an ordinary dude in a city you build#i want to build my irl city and play as me#and i should be able to do that and rise up the ranks until i'm president#and i should be able to nuke other countries or call in the national guard#and there should be like a civil war/natural disaster/zombie apocalypse scenario#so add in zombie games too#i should be able to build a city and then fight zombies in it like dayz#so i guess my ideal game is all games in one lmao#sorry this got way out of hand#i was originally just going to stick with the city-building stuff but more ideas kept coming to me as i wrote it out#but i will say realistically one game i've always wanted to see was some kind of crusader kings/rome:total war fusion#a game where you play as an individual king/politician and rule your city/kingdom (hyperrealistically)#and very grand strategy oriented#but also with the option to fight battles tactically on the ground like the total war series#or even as an individual soldier#there was this one game i played when i was younger that i was kinda like that and i always thought it was ahead of its time#you could fight these battles in a tactical mode or you could play as an individual hero fighting in the thick of things

My utterly correct and well-researched predictions for The Sims 5
no research has actually be done by me at all
EA will make the game a monthly subscription "service" which always needs to be online. There will of course be multiple subscription tiers with the higher tiers receiving some utterly mediocre clothes, hairs, furniture, Sims, you name it, paying lipservice to causes like diversity to make them seem important and un-missable (farm that FOMO). Lower tiers will have ads, a limited number of allowed mods/cc, and reduced graphics or some shit.
And of course there will be expansion packs, a staple of The Sims franchise, but you will need to pay for those too. Unless you subscribe to the platinum+ package, which includes a season pass. Of course there will always be certain cc packs that everybody will have to pay for, such as collaborations with big brands like D*sney, big fashion houses or IK*A. Occasionally there will be a freebie, but it will be a shitty print on a basegame T-shirt nobody cares for.
But that's not all! Not only will there be subscriptions, o no, there will be an ever bigger affiliate system. Basically an inbuilt multi-level management system (pyramid scheme) where people can sell their own mods/cc and recruit other people into their downline and make money of the mods they sell. They will give it a cutesy name, like Mod Families, Creator Visionaries, or Simgineers. There will be so many *shitty* mods, but since EA sits at the very top of the pyramid, there is absolutely no desire for quality control. You will see the same hair, with some added strands/removed strands/shorted/streaked/etc. edits over and over again. Of course there will be major fights and drama when the two biggest teams asset flip/convert create the same thing (some uninspired Second Life high poly blouse or something).
Anyway, I'm having a business meeting with EA next week and I'm very excited to share this plan with them.
P.S. Other features:
Extra in game currency like diamonds that people can use to buy even more junk for the game
Limit mods/cc to the Hub, you can't just put things in folders, it won't work
Sponsored events in the game, like a Simlish concert of K*ty P*rry or a Ad*das pop-up store in the mall
More social media integrations
An additional app for mobile devices where you play with your sims in a very limited way, but most importantly earn in game currency by doing stupid tasks, like playing games or watching ads
No pools in the basegame, that was a A+ decision in The Sims 4, so we're keeping that

I swear I'm cursed when it comes to rps lol. I find some people who like the same fandoms, have similar styles in doing their turns, and agree that we should share all the love interests. Cause those boys deserve all the love!
And yet, after painstakingly planning everything, we never manage to pass the first day in the rp. Hell, lately I haven't even been able to surpass the first HOUR!!!! Why? Because life's a bitch and keeps getting in the way.
So now I'm feeling like I'm on withdrawal (joking) because all I wanna do is rp and everyone is busy.
That said, if anyone wants to save me from my misery, here's some info on my rp types and styles and other info.
• My turns are detailed. Sometimes to the point that it takes multiple messages on discord. It usually depends on how many characters I'm playing.
• They're written in 3rd person, and stylized like I'm writing a fic. Actions are italicized, and spoken words are in quotations.
• I typically make a "rp house" in Sims because it's easier to track where the characters are. Kinda like in DND. But it's not a requirement.
• The rps I do involve an OC or Persona I choose (and my partners choose for themselves) meeting and eventually romancing, essentially, a harem of sorts. It depends on the fandom.
○Edit: This basically means I like to romance all the Canon romanceable characters. Which means all the Sans and Papyrus variants for Undertale, all the turtle brothers for TMNT, and all the DCA bots (I know some people do more than just Sun and Moon, like Eclipse, Lunar, Solar, etc.) for FNAF SB.
• In regard to the harem aspect, I usually share the Canon romanceable characters with my partners. Which means my rp partner and I can both romance all the romanceable boys or just the characters we're both interested in.
• I don't do rps where the OCs/Personas already know the Canon characters and vice versa. They're always meeting for the first time. Though that doesn't mean they can't KNOW OF each other.
○Ex: Persona is aware of the variations of Sans and Paps because they played the game, but never officially met them until getting isekai'd.
• I don't mind OP OCs or Personas as long as it doesn't get in the way of the fun.
• I will NEVER accept god-modding.
• Fandoms I rp for are Undertale (variations of Papyrus and Sans being the love interests, though I don't mind including Gasters too), TMNT (the boys are aged up and clearly the love interests), and FNAF SB (DCA boys, both animatronic and not, being the love interests).
• I don't mind NSFW, but only to a point. I can talk details in DMs.
• I rp exclusively on Discord, and don't mind doing multiple at once.
• I'm used to having two or more partners in one rp, but I can work with one partner too.
• I refuse to rp a Canon character I'm not confident I can portray properly, and I hope to the stars any partners I get feel the same.
• I only rp with 18+ since I'm 22
I think that's all the important info. So yeah, if this all sounds good to you, then please help me get out of my misery. Or if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

MY NEXT GAME
Hi, so I'm postponing my previous platformer because I'm tired of thinking about physics.
So I want to make a farming game.
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret, I dont like Stardew Valley. It's not a bad game, but when it comes to farming games, it's not my cup of tea.
I feel like what most people are looking for in their farming games is more of a life sim type game, which to be fair Harvest Moon has been since the start.
But my favorite farming sim game is Harvest Moon for the Gameboy Color. I played it via the virtual console on the 3ds and I loved it.
First off the limited hardware meant they had to cut a lot of stuff. They managed to still include marriage and children, but I never worked out how to interact with those mechanics. And I didnt need to because I was too busy FARMIIIIING.
Harvest Moon for the GBC was the fundamental farming mechanics distilled down, and it's all you did.
Also in this harvest moon game, the shipping guy who buys your stuff showes up at 5pm. About 3/4ths the way through the day.
Meaning when your crops were done growing you had to HUSTLE to get them put into the shipping box inorder to maximize your profit, and the ammount of crops you can grow the next day.
And that rush of getting your crops put away was incredible fun. Fast paced action to cap off a long stretch of repetitive, yet satisfying, gameplay
So many farming games try to make the planting and growing process easier, by making you able to walk on plants or with sprinklers and stuff. But I want the opposite. I want my game to be all about space and time management.
First off I am thinking of having the delivery guy pickup crops twice or maybe once a week. Forcing you to plan ahead, or store them somewhere.
I also want everything to be done one at a time. Harvesting, watering, etc. In HM GBC you could only hold one item at a time, causing you to run back and forth between your crops and the shipping box. I kinda liked this because it meant you had to layout your farm in such a way that allowed you to move through it efficiently.
Something I want to introduce is CRATES which can hold 8 items of the same type. And they have to be pushed around, kinda like sokoban boxes. I might toy with this a little, maybe allow you to pull them as well. This will make it so you have to be clever with your farm and storage layouts. And to minimize you running back and forward between the farm and the shipping box.
And instead of a shipping box I want an area you can place down crates. And possibly stack them? Again I want to force the player to be clever with how they store their goods. My biggest issue with this is I dont want to limit the ammount of produce you can sell. If you get your shit to the delivery spot in time you get your money.
On top of that I have ideas for crops that require certain configurations inorder to grow. Special soil types that promote the growth of certain crops and harms others. Machines that process crops into higher value products, but take up a lot of space. Maybe special orders to challenge you to grow a certain amount of crops in a period of time.
I gots ideas basically. Right now I've got a video in the works breaking down my progress so far. Super early technical stuff. Expect it soon!
All in all I'm excited to dive into this project. And we'll see what happens, if things go well I may finish it. If not I'll postpone it and work on ThreeEye again.
And as for the tech I'm using, I'm working in C again. Currently I'm using SDL but I may swap the graphics out with Sokol or BGFX in the future.

Two point hospital jumbo edition switch

#TWO POINT HOSPITAL JUMBO EDITION SWITCH UPGRADE#
#TWO POINT HOSPITAL JUMBO EDITION SWITCH FULL#
#TWO POINT HOSPITAL JUMBO EDITION SWITCH FULL#
Includes: Bigfoot, Pebberley Island, Close Encounters and Off the Grid full expansions, plus the Retro Items Pack and Exhibition Items Pack.īuild up a hospital from nothing to a masterpiece as you design the most beautiful – or functional – healthcare operation in the whole of Two Point County. Includes over 189 bizarre illnesses, a huge array of cure machines bursting with personality, and loads and loads of items to place in your hospitals! Traverse the vast reaches of Two Point County, with 27 hospitals in a variety of areas – from the snowy lands of the Bigfoot DLC, to the tropical climes of Pebberley Island. The best-value bundle yet! Jam-packed with new content that new and old players alike will love! Includes the base game + four premium expansions + two item packs.
#TWO POINT HOSPITAL JUMBO EDITION SWITCH UPGRADE#
Priced at just £34.99 physically or digitally, it offers the most value for money – and even if you already own the base game, you can buy a digital upgrade to the Jumbo Edition at a reduced price.With over 3 million happy players, find out why Two Point Hospital is a healthcare phenomenon! Take your hospital-building business experience to the next level, with four huge expansions and two additional DLCs, all bundled into an extraordinary Jumbo Edition that's bursting at the seams with LOADS OF STUFF! And the Jumbo Edition is easily the best way to play. If you loved Theme Hospital, Two Point Hospital is a no brainer. It never takes itself too seriously and introduces its mechanics steadily so even the most beginner of beginners can get to grips with it. Two Point Hospital is one of the best sim games out there, in our opinion anyway. And that just means the janitors have ghosts to deal with along with the mounting piles of rubbish and broken machines. Even with your best efforts, some of them will die. You’ll be treating patients with the likes of ‘Grey Anatomy’, ‘Inflated Ego’ and ‘Jest Infection’ – or attempting to, anyway. This isn’t a serious medical sim, though it’s filled with humour, ridiculous illnesses and chaos at every turn. Close Encounters also adds three new locations and 34 new illnesses and, along with those two item packs, there are 100s of new items to be placed in your hospitals.Įssentially a spiritual successor to the 90s phenomenon that was Theme Hospital, Two Point Hospital puts you in charge of designing and running a number of hospitals. In those new locations you’ll encounter 35 new illnesses, three of which require all-new cure machines to treat them. The Off the Grid DLC adds three new locations to the game set in more remote corners of Two Point County. But it makes sense if you’re just starting out, as those early levels are paramount in teaching you the ropes. It’s a little annoying if you’ve played before, but are starting from scratch on a new game file or new format. Perhaps the only downside to Two Point Hospital‘s additional content is that you need to progress so far through the base game before you can access it. Basically then, Two Point Hospital: Jumbo Edition is the best way to play. There’s a whopping four expansions included ( Bigfoot, Pebberley Island, Close Encounters and Off the Grid) along with two item packs (Retro and Exhibition). But if you’ve so far slept on this excellent hospital management sim, there’s never been a better time to jump in. If you already own Two Point Hospital on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch, it might not be the most appealing prospect. Out now, Two Point Hospital: Jumbo Edition bundles the base game with all DLC currently available on consoles.

:0 could I have a beel,asmo,belphie,lucifer,mammon, satan (not including levi) and diavolo playing videogames? I thought it would be kinda funny since they're all really old- except for levi of course haha
Ohhh this should be fun!
Decided to do individual HCs for this one instead of a group thing so they wouldn’t be limited to multiplayer games.
Most of them, save for a certain prince, have been exposed to games a fair amount by proximity to Levi.
---
Lucifer:
Lucifer has a Mononoke Land account so that he’ll get the email notifications for events and can therefore keep track of Levi’s whereabouts.  He’s never played the game, though, nor downloaded the app, and he has no intention of doing so.
In general, he’s not much of a gamer.  The most gaming he gets done is minesweeper on Windows XP.  He doesn’t have the time, and it was never something he could get into.
That isn’t to say that he owns zero games, though.  His favorite genre is turn-based strategy, because he can afford to look away from them, and they make him think and plan.
He doesn’t like the hyper-realistic ones, though.  Things like Civilization and Here Be Dragons are up his alley, Hearts of Iron not so much.
He doesn’t care too much about the story, but a good soundtrack is mandatory.
Also he’s an old man so the controls also have to be intuitive or he just won’t be able to play.  Why is he jumping when he presses A he thought that was the attack button.
The type of player who needs to get every achievement.  A completionist.
When the group gets together for the rare multiplayer night, he has no idea what he’s doing and yet still manages to do well.  It’s kind of infuriating.
He won’t make alliances with anyone, no, it’s every man for himself.  He also actively targets Mammon no matter what game they’re playing.
The fact that he doesn’t really get it protects his pride when Levi inevitably wipes the floor with him.
Mammon:
Mammon actually does game a little bit in his spare time, mostly with Levi.  He’s got a couple consoles and is more open to different genres than Lucifer is.
He thrives in any game where the main goal is to rack up as many points or as much profit as possible.  He’s undefeated in tycoons and pinball.  (Tetris is an exception; he’s terrible at Tetris.  Stupid spacial recognition.)
The RNG elements boil down to his insane luck, but he’s actually very smart when it comes to investments and stuff, so it’s not like he’s only using his luck to get by.
If the games have multiplayer, even better!  Nothing like kicking Levi, MC and Belphie’s asses in a game of Fortune Street!
He also tends to like the action-focused games that Levi plays.  Not so much into turn-based RPGs, but he enjoys stuff where the enemies spawn, like in Zelda or Rune Factory.  And he’s great at button mashing in fighting games, although Levi, who actually knows how to play them, always beats him.
Mammon uses items as soon as he gets them, and is too busy rushing a boss to care about learning its patterns and strategizing.
Skips cutscenes even on his first run.  Levi and Satan hate him for it.
Like mentioned before, he gets an unfair disadvantage in game nights because everyone targets him.  Especially in those games with RNG, because otherwise he WILL win.
He’s banned from PTW games because he will indeed PTW.
Satan:
Satan is another one who doesn’t play too many games, and that might be for the best because he’s a nightmare to play with.
The sorest loser, and a pretty nasty winner too.  He insists on the hardest difficulty and then rage quits at the slightest inconvenience.
He will play when prompted, though; he’s not above hanging out with his brothers.  His favorite sorts of games are ones with a good story and/or good puzzles.  His planning is more on the tactics side, as opposed to Lucifer’s strategy, so he would love Fire Emblem.
He WILL drop a game if the story isn’t holding his attention, and he’s done so in the past.
Overly cautious and hoards resources.  He takes the safe route every time.
Also another completionist.
Beel would often ask Satan to help him find out which art pieces were originals and safe to buy in Animal Crossing, and Satan got a little bit interested and ended up making a resident on Beel’s cartridge so the donations could be in his name.  He went on a mini-campaign to drive out the residents he didn’t like, but one of them turned out to be Beel's favorite and he felt terrible about it for weeks.
During family game nights, everyone is always torn between appeasing Satan and telling him to deal with it when he loses.
He also gets angry if he catches on to the fact that they’re letting him win, though.
Probably a genwunner.
Asmodeus:
Asmo enjoys video games.  They don’t fit into his aesthetic so he’s never really tried to understand them, but he doesn’t dislike them by any means.
Gaming is becoming more mainstream though, right?  That’s a whole new audience that could appreciate him.  Maybe, just maybe, he can let himself be a bit of a geek.
Unsurprisingly, he’s got a penchant for games with customization options.  Surprisingly, he also really enjoys FPS games.  If he and Levi ever played at the same time, it would be chaos in the House of Lamentation.
As opposed to his in-your-face attitude, he likes to play sniper units.
He said he wants to tap into the gaming community, but he’s not very good at most of the games he plays so he’s too embarrassed to actually do so.  He does, however, play the Sims on livestream.  He does his best to make the steamiest and most dramatic scenarios happen, and he’ll hold strawpolls to let his viewers make some choices.
Asmo also plays Animal Crossing like a few other brothers, but his island is so well groomed and with just the right residents, it feels like you’re touring an uncanny dystopia and Asmo is the dictator.
When the group gets together, he usually ends up doing the worst.  He’s more interested in executing perfect combos than actually dealing damage, so he’s not aggressive enough to get anything done against players like Levi and Satan.
He’s also not very good at teamwork; he starts yelling at his partner very quickly.
Beelzebub:
Beel doesn’t have a lot of “gamer” in him, but some of his brothers seem to like it so he decided to give it a go.  Turns out his hands are too big, but he makes do.  Kind of.
You’d expect a sports game to be the best for him, since he’s so athletic.  However, it’s BECAUSE he’s so athletic that this sort of game isn’t in his library.  He gets too antsy and bored tapping buttons instead of actually playing the sport.
Beel’s also not an aggressive player in any sense of the word.  He feels guilty even hurting the most basic of slimes.
No, no games are better for Beel than the stress-free, casual life simulators.  Animal Crossing is no surprise his favorite one right now.  Satan handles the museum for him while Beel gets to do whatever he feels like in a world where the biggest threat is a wasp.
He’ll also play other low stakes games where living your life is the main goal, like Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley.  His big heart can never choose who to marry in those games.
Horror is also ok for him, because while aggression is hard for him, self-defense is not.
He got the Cooking Mama app on his D.D.D. and bit the device in half, so he’s not allowed to touch that franchise anymore.
When the gang meets up, his non-aggressive side sticks around.  In fighting games, he’s more likely to dodge and steer clear of the others, and in other versus games he’s so open to compromise you’d think you were on the same team.
Satan did get him his favorite resident back.
Belphegor:
Belphie probably games the second most after Levi; it’s something that keeps him entertained but doesn’t require him to move very much at all.
I actually have no idea how to describe his preferred genres, but League of Legends and Dark Souls is basically all you need to know.
League lets him socialize a bit, and it’s the game that he and Levi play together most often.  As for Dark Souls, he loves the sort of game where learning your opponent’s every move and outsmarting/outmaneuvering them is the only path to victory.
I guess that would be described as “really hard action-adventure” games?  He’d also like Sekiro.
He also has his own copy of Animal Crossing to visit and play with Beel, but his island is so underdeveloped you’d think he started that same week.
Belphie is the true wild card of family game nights; sometimes he sleeps through the whole thing, while other times he can take down even Levi.
He has everyone’s habits down to a T--Mammon charges in, Asmo does too much setup, Levi’s overconfident--and he knows how to counter each and every one of them.
For someone who’s so much of a cunning player, though, he also misclicks a lot.
He’s the most likely out of his brothers to make alliances.  He’s also the most likely to break alliances.
If he doesn’t think he can win, he’ll choose a player and start sabotaging the game in their favor.
Diavolo:
Lord Diavolo had read about like, Mario?  The little blue hedgehog guy?  But he’d never owned a gaming console before.  He probably thought Neopets was peak gaming.
Levi swore to fix this grievous error, and this was also a mistake, because now Diavolo keeps trying to get Lucifer to play all these hack and slash games with him.
He has legitimately told Lucifer that “if you don’t play Devil May Cry with me THIS devil may cry!”
The games need to always have something happening in them or he’ll get bored, kind of like Satan’s need for a good story, except with action.
It’s also worth mentioning that “play a game with Diavolo” actually means “sit in the same room as Diavolo while he plays.”
And oh boy… is he terrible at these games.
He just button mashes until either he dies or all the enemies die.
Never uses any of the items he gets because he’s sure he’ll need them more later on.  When, Diavolo?  During the staff roll?
Will bomb a door before trying the knob.
Since he’s usually only around Lucifer, who doesn’t want to get sucked into this, and Barbatos, who honestly couldn’t care less about this, he’s been left alone and free to develop these terrible gaming habits.
It’s rare that he comes to family gaming night.  Legend has it that Lucifer’s piercing glare is somehow connected to the fact that his brothers always let Diavolo win.

Build Your Own Sims 4 EP Challenge
Uptown World Expansion Pack
*My entry for #BuildYourOwnEPChall by #SimsBogdy99
 The 3 models I made are wearing all black salon uniforms. Dressing in all black takes the focus off of the stylists and puts it onto the clients where it should be.  All of their other outfits are made with their favorite colors in mind and are heavily themed with a 1980's vibe because I'm kind of stuck in that era because the music, fashion, and hair were so cool... still cool. So on with the pack...
Welcome to Rockin Key, the home of some of the world's greatest musicians!  Rockin Key is where the rich & famous go to play, and the locals that keep it going play here too. Located 5 miles West of Del Sol Valley, it's easy to find... follow the endless sounds of great live music across the 5 mile bridge to Rockin Key... the city that never sleeps.  Rockin Key entertainment venues are open 24/7.
 On Rockin Key you'll find many new venues & plenty of room to build with 15 new lots to build homes/businesses! Including new lot types such as hair salons, Day Care Centers, houseboats, indoor concert halls, and movie theaters.
  Rockin Key (new) Venues Include: -Santiago's Hair Salon - Sims can now visit Hair Stylists, Nail Techs, & Estheticians for a variety of services. Don & Jori and their team are here to help you be the best looking version of yourself. Remember, it's all about the hair!
-Rockin Key's Slice of Paradise Concert Theater - This is the largest new venue. This is where the biggest names in the sim music industry come to perform. It's always the hottest ticket in town.
-Rhapsody Twin Movie Theatre - Sims can now take their family, or a date, to the movies! The Plaza Twin Theatre has a full service concession stand, and the movie popcorn machine is always popping to make sure the popcorn is hot & fresh. To wash the popcorn down they also serve fountain sodas, and there's a variety of candy to choose from. In each theater for all sims' comfort, they'll find recliner chairs with built in soda & popcorn holders. It's stadium seating so no worries about someone's head being in a sim's line of view while enjoying their movie. And for the kiddies there are booster seats available.
-Sunny Sushi Bar - Indoor & outdoor dining w/ live music nightly by Toffee Butler (piano) or The Dunk-a-noos (steel drum band), located next to the marina. -Moody's Marina - Here sims can buy/own a luxury yacht w/ hot tub & full bar. Yachts can leave port and travel the area. Sims can fish off of a yacht or they can now charter a fishing boat.
-Lil' Sponges Daycare Academy - Sims can now drop off their children at this Nautical themed, state of the art Daycare Academy for ages infant - 5 years old. This isn't just a babysitting service; as an Academy it has licensed teachers to teach age appropriate lessons while keeping track of each child's growth and progress in their speech, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and social skills. By the time these little sponges are ready to move on to Kindergarten at 5 yrs old, many will be able to skip right into 1st grade.
NEW CAREERS
 -Hair Stylist This career is for the sim that believes it's all about the hair. Once a customer has the right hairstyle, anything is possible! Hair Stylists can wash hair, cut hair, color/highlight hair, perm or straighten hair & blow dry hair. Top level Supreme Hair Stylists unlocks hair extensions that come in long, medium, short, & extra short (to add bangs/fringe to most hair styles already in the game) with each length also being in straight, wavy, curly, or braided styles, each available in all colors for both females and males, age teen-elder. Depending on the hairstylist's level will be the outcome of the hairstyle given, so sometimes with lower levels there may be mistakes and corrections needed that result in comedic reactions by sims/hairstylists.
 *Supreme Hair Stylist Bonus: Becoming a CELEBRITY HAIR STYLIST: Once a sim reaches top level as a Supreme Hair Stylist, they will begin to gain notoriety and in time will reach "celebrity" hairstylist status. Once this is achieved they will start to receive celebrities/rockstars as clients, be asked to go on location to music video sets, and backstage at concerts, to work on musicians'/celebs' hair, and they'll hob-nob with the rich and famous. Also, a celebrity hair stylist can be Owner & Creative Director of a very successful hair salon w/ barely any problems. They'll even be given the opportunity to own a chain of hair salons if the first one is successful.
 -Nail Technician/Artist
A career for sims that believe a person can't be their very best without well manicured hands and feet. Services provided, how well and how quickly done, depends on the level of Nail Tech/Artist. Lower levels may either take longer or make mistakes such as wrong nail color or spills water on the client.  Once a higher level is reached the Nail Tech adds Artist to their repertoire and unlocks fun nail art & nail accessories. When a sim visits a Nail Artist the prices are higher, appointment is quicker, and you get to choose the color(s) of nail polish used on the sim, along with a paint design (flowers/hearts/holiday themes) and/or nail accessories such as glitter or rhinestones.
 -Esthetician For the sim that sees other sims as walking Barbie & Ken dolls and helps them reach that status through ridding them of any and all body hair through artful waxing. Starting level can only provide facials, moustache waxing, & eyebrow waxing/shaping. They also provide skin treatments afterwards to sooth the red hot burning newly waxed fresh skin after peeling off a layer with the hot wax. Clients are taken to a private area (behind a curtain or door) for body waxing. Bikini waxing for female/male adult-elder is unlocked once an Esthetician reaches the top level as an Elite Esthetician.
(Note on how I see the Esthetician career as working in the game... Once an Esthetician reaches "elite" level they can start body waxing clients, so the nude sim laying on the table will have blurred privates, same as when they shower, but we'll know the spot the Esthetician is waxing as the sim will make some kind of horrible scream and/or face due to the wax being ripped off which makes for funny game play. You see it too, right?
 -Hair Salon Owner & Creative Director  This career is the ultimate goal for most Hair Stylists... a dream come true. This career is best suited for the sim who has achieved the top level as Supreme Hair Stylist because they know what they're doing, what the salon needs, and more importantly what their employees and clients need. Even with all of their experience and knowledge in the hair industry, they still hit bumps in the road and make mistakes. Hair Salon Owner & Creative Director may also work well for other salon employees after a sim reaches either the Finest Nail Artist level or the Elite Esthetician level. They will run into a few surprise bumps that the Supreme Hair Stylist knows how to avoid, but they have a better chance of success than a sim that has no salon experience. With that being said a sim without prior salon experience who can afford it, can be a Hair Salon Owner & Creative Director; however, that sim will  have a much more difficult time in being the salon owner & creative director with more mishaps, unhappy employees, angry clients, and more stress than the Supreme Hair Stylist that becomes an owner & creative director. Their chance of failure with the salon closing down is 50% higher than that of a salon employee & 75% higher risk than that of a Supreme Hair Stylist.  Top level for Hair Salon Owner & Creative Director opens up the opportunity for them to expand into a Hair Salon Chain Owner.
-Professional Contemporary Music Artist This career is for the sim that wants to be a Music Idol & Pop Culture Icon. Those that seek after a career as a professional contemporary music artist include sims that have dreamt about success as either a solo pop or hip-hop artist, or as a member of a rock band, or a member in a popular boy or girl band. Their journey begins when they begin to practice singing and/or playing instruments. As their skill increases, they'll gain notoriety performing in venues around town until finally a big music manager contacts them after hearing them perform in a local bar and offers them an audition. If the audition goes well, they'll then be offered a contract with choices such as music genre & solo artist or in a band to begin their musical career. Once the contract is signed, the sim will start receiving dates for live concert gigs that you will be able to follow and play sim through the onstage performances as well as the backstage after parties. At top level the sim will become known as a "King/Queen of Music" which will unlock many new items made for a rock/pop superstar including clothing,  jewelry, big hairstyles, & other rockstar items themed after 1980's musical legends that are known for their music & iconic fashion styles such as George Michael (Wham!), Prince, Bon Jovi, Tina Turner, Cher, Run DMC, Heart, Janet Jackson, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Cyndi Lauper, & Boy George (Culture Club).
 NEW ASPIRATION CATEGORY: TRADESMANSHIP
NEW ASPIRATIONS:
-Supreme Hair Stylist
-Finest Nail Artist
-Elite Esthetician -Hair Salon Chain Owner -King/Queen of Music
 NEW TRAITS:
 FINICKY - A sim with this trait is extremely hard to please & they change their minds often too. Finicky sims are the customers that businesses, hair stylists, & servers have nightmares about. They want things exactly like they want it, and if it's not to their preferences, they'll throw a hissy fit refusing to pay for services. At the hair salon they're the client that will ask for a certain hair style or nail style, and halfway through they'll change their mind or when finished burst out in tears saying they don't like it. If they place an order over the phone, or in a restaurant, there's a good chance by the time it arrives, they'll no longer want it causing them to pout, complain & refuse to pay for it. If they enjoy an activity one day, they may hate it the next. If they have a romantic interest, they may lose interest faster than other sims. They may even become the runaway bride or groom. Their likes & dislikes change often because they are FINICKY.
LEECH - A sim with this trait is outgoing, cheerful, & charming so making a new friend, or romantic connection, is easy for them & quicker than other sims, but once another sim befriends them they will become the center of the LEECH sim's world. A LEECH will only want to do things with that one friend or love interest, and they will expect the same from that friend or love interest. They want to do everything with ONLY that 1 person, and can show up at any time, & anywhere, uninvited to be with them. When not with their friend, they're calling them on the phone, even if they're at work. And if they see their 1 friend/love interest being friendly with anyone else, they will act out in sneaky jealous "accidental" actions towards the other sim who is "stealing" their friend's attention away from the LEECH, such as spilling a drink on them, or bumping into them hard enough to knock them out of the way, or causing them to trip, or pulling their chair out from under them. A LEECH will talk to anyone that will listen to them, and when they're really lonely they will visit their favorite hangouts to talk to the employees knowing as a customer they have to talk to them and be nice. The LEECH is often a Rockin Key business' nightmare client because they tend to hang around bothering the employees or other customers looking for attention.   Some leeches even ask for free things like a drink. The LEECH doesn't have the same obsession with their family members, only with that 1 special friend/love interest which may be their spouse. With family members the LEECH is known for inviting themselves to dinner, or on outings (and of course leeches always forget their wallet no matter who they're with); however, when they make that 1 special friend or love interest their family is relieved because they get a break from the LEECH that will now come around much less often, if ever, while in the other relationship. Breaking off a relationship with the LEECH is not pretty either. They will throw huge fits no matter where or how the break up happens. And don't be surprised if the sim that broke it off now finds themselves being watched with a telescope or being followed when they go out as the LEECH has a very hard time letting go & may pop up at any time just to say "hi" w/ a creepy smile as they walk away. They also may find that their mail has been stolen when the electric is suddenly shut off due to non-payment since the LEECH out of anger stole their mail, though they're unable to prove it to the police.
 WALLFLOWER- This sim is a romantic at heart, creative, super sweet & friendly, but has trouble approaching other sims, especially strangers because they're shy. They long to socialize with other sims & enjoy going out on the town to different venues/events hoping to make a friend, or meet that special someone; however, once they arrive, they will stay seated and will not approach sims becoming a WALLFLOWER while they wait for sims to approach them. Once they become friends with a sim, they're charming, super sweet, & a bit more chatty, but still more quiet & agreeable than most sims. Being shy they are the exact opposite of a leech as they will often pay for others, and wait for their friends, or family, to call them to make plans as they don't want to bother anyone. If a sim they care about takes too long to contact them they become gloomy or will sit at home & cry alone wondering why that sim doesn't like them. When it comes to business owners, the WALLFLOWER is a favorite customer/client as they're so sweet they're always happy/content with the service provided for them.
 COUCH POTATO - They live to entertain themselves from a chair or a couch whether at home, a friend's house, or a night out. They tire much faster than other sims & have to sit down more often if out and about. One of their favorite things to do is sit and watch tv which they also enjoy blogging about their favorite shows and movies. If sim also has an outgoing trait they can often be found out at venues that have entertainment, or activities that require or encourage sitting such as a bar, movie theater, park bench, laying out by a pool, library, or hair salon. These venues look forward to visits from their COUCH POTATO customers/clients as they tend to stay awhile, spending more money, so they don't have to get up and go back home after coming all this way. The thought, or sight, of physical exercise quickly drains their energy, and they may need to stop for a power nap whether they are at home, a friend's house, or out on the town.
  New Objects:
-Hair extensions (4 different lengths/textures/all colors) & accessories (barrets, headbands, bows, scarves) for all ages -Hair salon accessories - couches/chairs, mirrors, work stations w/ stylists' supplies, shelves, hair products -Nail Technician manicure table & chair, client chairs, nail equipment

-soda fountain
-Recliner chairs with large built in cup holders
-Oversized Kites
A Special Thank You... I'd like to thank my daughter ( #SparkleMuffin21 ) and my son ( #DarthDjoe ) for their help in listening to my ideas and giving me their own opinions on this challenge, as well as pretty much all my sim's creations. My grown children both play Sims 4, so I value their opinions, and appreciate the kindness/patience they've shown me as they often help me by sharing their opinions on my creations. This time around they gave me a lot of advice on what I should or shouldn’t include, and my daughter helped me with the naming of the pack & the name of the town for this challenge. Thanks kids! <3

All Night Road Journal entries! For players who are new to VtM, this is absolutely invaluable. For those who are familiar with VtM, it's still pretty neat! Find it in the menu below your stats.
Note - the Characters list changes depending on your in-game actions; this list is based on my Banu Haqim hot mess Courier, Pyre.
Characters
Kindred
Aila: A powerful Daughter of Haqim. You consumed her, Blood and soul, ten years ago.
Edouard Chambet: A member of the Ministry and influential fixer. Or he was until you and Raúl destroyed him.
Julian Sim: Your sire Technological visionary, data scientist, and (by Camarilla standards) an "Anarch" bent on bringing down the Masquerade. You and he worked together under the Camarilla's thumb for a few years before going your separate ways. Now you're both back in Tucson.
Prince Lettow: A Gangrel, originally a minor aristocrat from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth—making him one of the few elders left in Arizona. Lettow came to America after serving as a pilot in the Great War.
Called the Eagle Prince on account of his eagle servant, Riga, Lettow seized control of Tucson after the last Prince launched a murderous and doomed campaign against all non-Ventrue in the city. He magnanimously spared the old Prince's childer and has sought to rule with as much compassion as an undead crime lord can allow himself.
Millicent Rue: A blood trader whose specialty is finding obscure vintages for fussy Ventrue. From a clan called Lasombra, which you don't know anything about. After the fall of Camp Scheffler, has started to rebuild her "business."
Dove: Prince Lettow of Tucson's second in command, a Nosferatu and former courier. Keeps her mouth shut about her past, but she has known Lettow for many years.
Invidia Caul: A Tremere sorceress who works for Julian Sim ever since Prince Lettow forced the closure of her research facility, Kiowa Xenogenetics.
D'Espine: A Toreador. Manages the Cinderblock, a jazz club in Dallas. Obsessed with surgically modifying her ghouls.
Elin Olivecrona: A Ventrue. After the fall of Camp Scheffler, Olivecrona disappeared into the bureaucracy of the US government to work against the Second Inquisition.
Lampago: An ancient vampire—or some kind of related creature—who lurked in Tucson for years until hunters finally drove her away. She now dwells in Biosphere Zero.
Pattermuster: A Brujah. You helped him block a proposed renovation to the hospital.
Reremouse: A Nosferatu elder that dwelled beneath the sands of the California desert. You and Julian spent a depressing year feeding the elder to keep him dormant. When he finally arose, you helped Julian teleport him across the world using ancient sorcery that you do not fully understand.
Z: Julian Sim's mysterious acolyte.
Ghouls
Raúl Cañedo: Vampire hunter you first encountered when a wight attacked you after your CR-X broke down. Now your retainer. Knows how to fight and hunt; also a capable investigator.
Miguel: One of Lettow's retainers and couriers. Killed at Camp Scheffler, probably by hunters affiliated with the Second Inquisition.
Carlos: One of Dove's retainers. A police detective and the local Camarilla's contact with the Tucson police.
Nadia Goh: One of Julian Sim's retainers. Works as a delivery girl for a Malaysian restaurant when not helping Julian.
Others
Elena Prodan: Owner of Covenant Pawn Shop.
Agent Samantha Donati: Technically just a special agent with the FBI's Special Affairs Division, Agent Donati in fact controls most Second Inquisition activity across the Southwest. Her lightning-quick strikes have destroyed dozens of vampires and thrown the local Camarilla into chaos.
Clans
Banu Haqim
Originally from the Middle East, the "Assamites" were once feared assassins and sorcerers. They have recently entered into a tentative alliance with the Camarilla, the vampire shadow-society of Europe and the Americas.
Disciplines: Blood Sorcery, Celerity, Obfuscate. Some Banu Haqim focus on rituals, while others favor inhuman speed and the powers of invisibility.
Clan Weakness: Thirst for vitae. Banu Haqim are compelled to commit diablerie—the sin of draining another vampire, body and soul.
Brujah
Once a proud clan of philosophers, the rage-fueled "Rebels" are now scattered and disorganized.
Disciplines: Celerity, Potence, Presence. Unnatural strength and speed help the unsubtle Brujah in a fight, but the secret to their survival is in shaping crowds with their eerie charisma.
Clan Weakness: Temper. Brujah are prone to losing control of their Beast in terrible rages.
Gangrel
The savage "Outlanders" are shapeshifting beastmasters who, almost alone among vampires, can survive outside of the cities.
Disciplines: Animalism, Fortitude, Protean. Gangrel flesh is both hardy and able to change its form; the Outlanders also have various powers over living animals.
Clan Weakness: Feral. Gangrel struggle to relate to normal humans, especially as their Humanity declines.
Malkavian
The "Lunatics" are all mad, but their madness gives them strange insights. They often serve as court seers and mad prophets.
Disciplines: Auspex, Dominate, Obfuscate. Keen senses and the power to vanish from sight give Malkavians their reputation as prophets. Their mental compulsions often spread their insanity.
Clan Weakness: Madness. All Malkavians are incurably insane.
The Ministry
Formerly the "Followers of Set," the Ministry are friendly and good. There is nothing bad about the Ministry. They are here to help and to get you what you need. They are not a snake cult.
Disciplines: Obfuscate, Presence, Protean. Vampires of the Ministry can become invisible, control minds, and turn into giant snakes (it always helps).
Clan Weakness: No problems here, nothing to worry about.
Nosferatu
The "Sewer Rats" are hideous and malformed vampires whose information-gathering skills make them invaluable. They once managed electronic communication for the Kindred, until the Second Inquisition infiltrated their servers.
Disciplines: Animalism, Obfuscate, Potence. Nosferatu use their shadow-powers not just to turn invisible, but to hide their hideous faces. When exposed, they can call on their unnatural strength, or their allies among the Creatures of the Night.
Clan Weakness: Hideous. All Nosferatu are monstrous in appearance.
Toreador
The elegant and sophisticated "Aesthetes" would prefer you didn't call them "Degenerates." Obsessed with beauty, the vampires of Clan Toreador can seem almost alive when their passions move them.
Disciplines: Auspex, Celerity, Presence. Supernaturally keen senses and a beguiling aura let the Aesthetes thrive among high culture; when things go wrong, unnatural speed helps them escape.
Clan Weakness: Distracted. Toreador are so obsessed with beauty that it can endanger them.
Tremere
The "Usurpers" of Clan Tremere are said to descend from a mortal wizard who stole immortal life from an ancient vampire. Once organized into a disciplined arcane hierarchy, the sorcerers of Clan Tremere are in turmoil after the destruction of their greatest occult stronghold.
Disciplines: Auspex, Blood Sorcery, Dominate. Though famous for their Thaumaturgy—their intricate sorcerous tradition—many Tremere also possess supernaturally acute senses and the power to command mortals with a word.
Clan Weakness: Frail Blood. This manifests in different ways for different Usurpers. Some mend their flesh slowly; others cannot form Blood Bonds or create ghoul servitors.
Ventrue
The Clan of Kings rules from the shadows, controlling modern boardrooms as they once controlled courts and cathedrals. The mental powers of the "Blue Bloods" also protect the Masquerade.
Disciplines: Dominate, Fortitude, Presence. Ventrue study two distinct paths of mental control: Presence is more subtle, Dominate more direct. Some are also nearly indestructible, even when exposed to banes like fire and sunlight.
Clan Weakness: Refined palate. Ventrue cannot drink bagged or animal blood, and most are restricted to a particular kind of human prey.
Caitiff
Not a clan at all, Caitiff vampires are the Clanless—those whose Blood is too thin or whose education was too inadequate for them to join a proper clan.
Disciplines: Varies based on ancestry and inclination.
Clan Weakness: Outcast. The Camarilla has little respect for Caitiff, and other vampires don't treat them well either.
Hunger and Willpower
All vampires suffer from an undying Hunger for blood. Using Disciplines (vampire powers) and mending wounds uses some of the blood you've stolen and increases your Hunger; so does the simple act of rising every night. Only killing and fully draining a living human slakes your Hunger fully, and then only for a time. As a Child of Haqim, drinking vampire Blood also increases your Hunger.
If you become hungry enough, you lose the ability to activate Disciplines or mend your wounds. If your Hunger equals or exceeds your Willpower, you suffer penalties to actions that require concentration and self-control. That includes most actions you take, except those that risk a messy critical—see that entry. The penalties grow as your Hunger grows.
Willpower is based on your Resolve and Composure scores. Increase those scores to increase your Willpower and ignore the distraction caused by your Hunger. Certain actions, like extended negotiations or staying out too close to the sun, can mentally exhaust you, temporarily reducing your Willpower. You can regain lost Willpower by embodying your Convictions (see Experience and Convictions).
Messy Criticals
Succeed too well on certain actions and you run the risk of unleashing your Beast. The monster within you assures your success…at any cost.
Any choice that ends in an exclamation point ("!") risks a messy critical. Most of these are attacks or other aggressive actions where you risk losing control, such as threatening people or bashing down doors. Any choice that involves hunting and drinking from a human also risks a messy critical, and messy criticals there usually result in you draining the mortal completely, reducing your Humanity and leaving you with a corpse to dispose of.
The good news is that choices that risk a messy critical aren't more difficult due to Hunger (see Hunger and Willpower). Your Beast guides you in these savage actions, even when you're desperate for blood.
Experience and Convictions
After a decade of lethargy and routine, you find yourself bursting with newfound creative vigor!
You gain experience in two chief ways: first, by going on missions and succeeding in your goals. Second, by gaining Convictions and living up to them. To gain a Conviction, select choices that increase that personality trait: if you want to Defy the Traditions, then you must Defy the Traditions: ignore vampire laws like the Masquerade (see that entry), disobey elder vampires, and defy the Camarilla. If you want to Seek Luxury, then demand money and inducements as often as possible.
The Masquerade
The First Tradition of the Camarilla—what passes for civilization among the undead—is to hide the existence of vampires from the mortal herd. This is the Masquerade. You can violate the Masquerade by openly using obvious supernatural powers (such as shapeshifting), feeding in public, or failing to dispose of a body you drained.
Violating the Masquerade risks the wrath of elders among the Camarilla. Worse, with the Second Inquisition raging across the United States, a breach of the Masquerade risks sending an entire Second Inquisition kill team to your doorstep. Such an attack usually comes in daylight and can destroy you if you're not careful.
Humanity and the Beast
Vampires aren't human. They're dead things animated by stolen blood, with a screaming monster in their head they call the Beast. Perhaps because of this damned state, most vampires cling to their Humanity and struggle to control the Beast's savage urges.
But the Beast is always waiting. Acts of callousness and brutality strip vampires of their Humanity until, in the end, they are nothing but mindless animals that lurk in the shadows and hunt at night. Even before that point, low-Humanity vampires struggle to act with kindness or empathy.
Killing mortals (unless attacked first, such as by hunters or assassins) is a sure way to lose Humanity. The Beast permits no excuses—killing to feed and killing to hide your true nature (and protect the Masquerade) will stain your soul as surely as killing for sport.
Regaining Humanity is arduous but possible through great acts of sacrifice and by risking yourself for others. But beware: if your Humanity falls low enough, you'll have to spend Willpower (see Hunger and Willpower) to perform even small acts of decency.
The Camarilla
The Camarilla—the so-called Ivory Tower—is a secret society of vampires dedicated to hiding their existence from mortals, a guiding ideology called the Masquerade. Most Camarilla cities are ruled by a Prince (the term is gender neutral). Beneath this monarch is an elaborate hierarchy of underlings and overlords, bound together through favors, mutual enemies, the Traditions (including the Masquerade), and the overwhelming nightly drive to find more blood. Vampires of the Camarilla call each other "Kindred." They all appreciate the bitter irony of that term.
The rise of the Second Inquisition has made the Camarilla more paranoid and restrictive. Where once the Princes tolerated "Anarchs" and fringe types (like independent couriers), now they retreat into their Elysiums—hidden sanctums where they can conduct their business in peace—and try to weather the storm. These nights, the Camarilla are the vampire elite, and like any elite, they are happy to sacrifice everyone else for their own safety or convenience.
The Second Inquisition
The first Inquisition taught the arrogant vampires of the Middle Ages that they were not invincible. They learned that mortals, while weak alone, were almost unstoppable when organized and when they knew their enemy.
The vampires of the Camarilla took the lessons of the Inquisition to heart, hiding their actions behind the Masquerade. But no deception is perfect. As digital technology proliferated in the twentieth century, young vampires adapted, leaving their elders in the dust. They didn't know that mortals were listening in. And even when they realized the danger, many in the Camarilla believed they could direct these hunters at their enemies.
The results of this arrogance were catastrophic: the fires of the Second Inquisition blazed across the world, destroying elders and fledglings alike, cleansing whole cities of vampires. Embedded in the security and intelligence agencies of various national governments, including the FBI and the CIA, the Second Inquisition employs every weapon at its disposal to hunt down and destroy vampires. Now the SI has turned its sights on Arizona. Its goal is nothing less than the total eradication of every vampire in the state.
The Beckoning
A strange event called the Beckoning recently started luring elder vampires to the Middle East. No one knows the source of the Beckoning, but the sudden loss of so many elders—and the vast supernatural power they possess—has thrown the Camarilla into chaos and allowed Anarchs and other independent groups to seize power.
The Nature of the Blood
A vampire's vitae—the stolen blood that flows through your veins—has a variety of supernatural powers.
Disciplines. A vampire's supernatural arts are called Disciplines. Different clans manifest different arts, from mind control and shapeshifting to superhuman strength and speed. Most Disciplines require Blood to activate (increasing your Hunger) and grant a significant bonus to any relevant action you undertake. This bonus increases with your level of mastery.
Mending. You can use the blood you take to repair your dead flesh. In fact, this is the only way vampires can "heal," as they cannot do so naturally.
Ghouls. A vampire who feeds vitae to a living mortal creates a ghoul. Sometimes called a retainer or a thrall, a ghoul does not age, manifests minor supernatural powers such as occasional bursts of great strength, and is loyal to their vampire regnant through the Blood Bond (see below). Most established vampires make use of one or more ghouls to handle their daylight business.
The Embrace. Feed a mortal your vitae and you create a ghoul. Drain a mortal to death and feed that mortal your Blood and you create a new vampire of your clan. You are now the sire to a childe. This act is called the Embrace. Most Princes of the Camarilla forbid Embracing new vampires except under special conditions, as there are always too many vampires and never enough places to hunt.
The Blood Bond. Drink a vampire's blood three times on three separate nights and you are bound to that vampire, forced into service through a supernatural compulsion called the Blood Bond. If you create a ghoul, that ghoul is soon Blood Bound to you. Beware of your sire—you've already tasted your sire's Blood once, when you were Embraced and turned into a vampire!
Learning from the Blood. Vampires of different clans begin with different Disciplines, but you can unlock more Disciplines by tasting the Blood of another vampire and then receiving instruction from them.
Diablerie. To drain another vampire, body and soul, is called diablerie, and the Camarilla consider it the most awful of crimes. But young vampires practice the art in secret anyway, hunting their elders, in order to lower their generation and gain greater power.
Generation. According to legend, the first vampire was Caine, the first murderer. Legend further says that Caine had three childer, who had childer of their own, and that those vampires of the Third Generation founded the clans. Whether or not you believe this story, when a vampire Embraces a mortal, that childe's Blood is thinner and weaker than the sire's. Vampires of high generation are sometimes Caitiff (the Clanless), and those of very high generation are thin-bloods—barely vampires at all. Though a vampire's Disciplines develop with age, generation does not change…except through diablerie.
Functions of Abilities, Skills, and Disciplines
Abilities
Strength: Punching, wrestling, clawing (if you have claws). Most climbing where you haul yourself up.
Dexterity: Balance, speed, reacting quickly. Attacking with a bladed weapon or in coyote form (if you can change shape), reacting quickly. Most shooting that relies on speed.
Stamina: Adds to your Health. Not used actively.
Charisma: Getting people to like you. Leading people into battle or giving them orders. Impressing a crowd.
Manipulation: Getting people to do what you want (even if they don't like you). Most kinds of lies and deceit.
Composure: Adds to your Willpower. Staying cool, in social situations or in a fight (especially when threatened by fire or sunlight).
Intelligence: Education, reasoning ability, analysis. Most forms of research.
Wits: Cunning, cleverness, noticing things on the go. Intuition, "following your nose." Shooting when you can't see clearly.
Resolve: Adds to your Willpower. Determination, patience. Performing tasks that take all night or that are mentally draining.
Use the language of the choices to determine what is being tested. "Quickly" usually means Dexterity, "clever" signals Wits, "patient" implies Resolve.
Specific descriptions override general rules. You normally use Dexterity to strike with a sword, but if there's a lot of smoke and the choice says you need to be clever to hit, that's Wits.
Skills
Athletics: Jumping, swimming, running, dodging.
Combat: Brawling, wrestling, wielding swords or improvised weapons, using claws or teeth.
Drive: This gets your AE86 to its destination in one piece.
Firearms: Shooting a gun.
Clandestine: Sneaking, moving silently, hiding, picking locks, forcing doors.
Intimidation: Threatening, bullying, and forcing others to back down.
Leadership: Giving orders. Commanding your ghoul; also adds a passive boost when you work together with your ghoul.
Persuasion: Getting people to do what you want in a more or less straightforward manner, without lies or threats. Also covers etiquette and manners.
Streetwise: Bribery. Knowing streets and alleys (useful for quick getaways). Interacting with criminals.
Subterfuge: Lying, swindling, and deceiving. Also includes palming, picking pockets, and similar deceptions.
Academics: Nonscientific education—everything from history and philosophy to occult lore. Used in Blood Sorcery.
Awareness: Noticing things just by looking around (or listening or sniffing around).
Investigation: Careful, systematic exploring. Helps you both find hidden items and interrogate people until you find something.
Technology: Crafts, car repair, computer use, and hacking, as well as scientific acumen.
Survival: Finding shelter (especially from sunlight!), hunting wild animals.
Disciplines
Most Disciplines increase your Hunger when used but add a bonus to your actions.
Animalism: Grants you a wolf companion who grants significant bonuses to actions when activated. Your lobo gains power as you advance this Discipline. Low risk of a Masquerade breach; your lobo is just a "big weird dog."
Auspex: Enhances your senses, typically improving skills like Awareness, Investigation, and (if you're shooting where you can't see clearly) Firearms. Low risk of Masquerade breach; Auspex affects only you.
Blood Sorcery: Not a proper Discipline so much as a collection of ritual techniques developed over millennia. Most rituals take time and grant automatic success to an action; particularly challenging rituals, or those opposed by another sorcerer, often rely on Intelligence and Academics. Risk of Masquerade breach varies based on the ritual.
Celerity: Supernatural speed and quickness. Offers only a modest bonus, but helps with a huge number of activities, especially when you need to fight or flee. Mortals will be surprised by but not suspicious of the lowest level of Celerity; any more than that breaches the Masquerade.
Dominate: Overwhelming short-term mind control. Usually succeeds automatically, especially on mortals. A blunt instrument; doesn't gently boost your natural abilities like Presence. Low Masquerade risk since it's so uncanny. Dominate can also be used to scramble memories, which protects your secrets.
Fortitude: Unnatural resilience, even against the vampire's natural banes (fire and sunlight). Not used actively; it works automatically when you're hurt to absorb injury. Low risk of Masquerade breach—maybe you were wearing body armor?
Obfuscate: Fading from sight. Not literal invisibility; people just don't notice you. Mostly used to enhance Clandestine when sneaking. Low risk of Masquerade breach unless you just vanish in front of someone.
Potence: Monstrous strength. Increase your ferocity in combat and smash right through obstacles. Like Celerity, mortals will accept the lowest levels of Potence as the effects of adrenaline, but any more than that breaches the Masquerade.
Presence: Unnatural allure and charisma. Use it to fill mortals with dread (enhances Intimidate) or to enhance your natural charm (pairs with a large number of social skills). Lacks the immediate and inescapable power of Dominate, but more flexible. Low risk of Masquerade breach; people just believe you're unusually magnetic.
Protean: Three distinct shapeshifting powers. Beginners can grow wolflike claws to rip their enemies to shreds. Intermediate students learn how to meld with the earth, sinking into the ground to escape pursuers (or the rising sun). Masters take the form of beasts—in your case, a coyote. Any use of Protean is a huge and obvious Masquerade breach.

A sort of writing prompt - Sims 3 style
Okay, a bit of set up here.
A couple of months ago, I decided to go back to playing Mass Effect on my PC once I found the game controller mod.  I much prefer it on my PS3 because of that.  Still the mod made it easier, and I was able to add a few more mods to lengthen the games, etc.  Suffice to say, I can now play an extended version of my Shepards’ games on my PC at my desk.
That said, it also means I have access to my other games I had on Origin.  Including Sims 3.  Silly me decided to try and create Caleb and Kaidan in Sims 3 (I did this years ago with one of my femsheps and DA characters).  I was talking to @swaps55 around the time that I started the game up and in the first few minutes, Caleb and Kaidan had no less than FIVE PILLOW FIGHTS.  I know Kaidan was the instigator at least one time - saw it with my own eyes.  Of course, Swaps, being Swaps, encouraged the ‘prompt’.
Fast forward a few weeks.  I woke up this morning and in that hazy inbetween state of unconsciousness/consciousness, I suddenly SAW the prompt.  I’ve spent most of the morning writing this, so here you go, Swaps!  A huge thank you for dragging me into mshenko and encouraging me to write!  Just for you - Caleb and Kaidan having a pillow fight ala Sims 3!
On AO3 here
~~~
Making a bed to military precision is easy enough, if time consuming – consuming only because he can find far better and more entertaining ways to spend those minutes with Kaidan – but it’s a necessity, and better to get it done now than to leave it until right before bed when they are   distracted. He’s spent his career – his life – able to focus on the job at hand, whatever the mission requires, and he isn’t about to stop that now.  Especially when the greatest distraction of his life stands on the other side of the bed, waiting.
The fitted sheet is easy enough to manage. He tucks the two corners on his side in quick, precise movements, then places his knee on top of the sheet and mattress to keep his balance while leaning halfway across.  He’s tall and his arms long enough to reach the far corner, but a strong hand is waiting, ready to assist.
Fingers brush and tangle, a soft chuckle fills the air. “You still don’t know how to ask for help, do you?”
Caleb huffs softly.  “This job is better done by one,” he argues, tucking the corner securely around the mattress.  “Faster that way.”
(under cut for length)
Kaidan runs his fingers along the edge of the fabric and finds the last corner, snagging it and tugging to stretch it out.  “Not always,” he replies as he slides it easily around the mattress.
Caleb rises, sends a quick smirk in the major’s direction, then grabs the duvet off the nearby chair.  It’s folded into quarters and he places it precisely in the center of the bed – a trick he’s come up with over the years and one that works well.  Within seconds, it covers the bed as it should, corner to corner.  “You were saying?”  He glances over to where Kaidan stands … only he isn’t there anymore.  With a frown marring his face, he turns …
His peripheral vision saves him, eyes slamming shut and head turning just enough out of the way before contact is made.  A startled murfle escapes his lips but it is stifled by the thick feathered pillow.  Reaction has him reaching for it automatically.  It falls into his hands without difficulty.  “Jesus, Kaidan!” he breathes, shaking his head once to remove any lingering sting from the contact.  “What the – ?”
He realizes his mistake instantly.  His arm rises this time, blocking a blow.  On the other side of a second pillow, a smug smirk greets him.  “You need to relax, Shepard,” Kaidan insists.  “Learn to live a little.”
His voice is low, rumbling, and Caleb melts a little as it washes over him.  It takes all of his concentration and willpower to remain on task.  “I know how to live,” he argues.  “Too busy trying not to die lately.”
Their gazes meet and it’s impossible not to read the silent challenge inside Kaidan’s dark, whiskey-colored eyes.  A soft frown mars Caleb’s brow.  “What’s gotten into you, Alenko?”
The smirk remains on his lips, a fire of delight building; Caleb has only ever seen him like this once.  They aren’t on Utukku fighting their way free of the rachni at the moment, however.  Why the hell am I suddenly your target?
“You need to relax,” Kaidan replies.  “Have a little fun.”
“And shoving a pillow in my face will do that.” It’s a matter of fact statement, not a question.
The smirk widens and Kaidan’s chuckle fills the room.  “You make it sound more like battlefield skirmish.”
Dropping his hands but securing the corner of the pillow between his fingers, Caleb’s hands rest at his hips as he stands there staring at him.  “A pillow fight?  Really?”
Kaidan drops his pillow onto the bed as he walks over, a grin on his face.  Leaning in, he brushes a quick kiss across Caleb’s lips.  “So you have heard of them.  I was beginning to wonder.”
“Heard of, yes.  Doesn’t mean I’ve ever been in one.”  A soft sigh filled with a hint of regret slips past Caleb’s lips as he runs a hand through his tousled hair.  “I was an only child, in the Reds by the time I was fourteen.  Not the best environment for such things.”
Kaidan’s hand slides up to the back of his head, gently tugging.  Their foreheads meet, touch, rest for a half a moment before he pulls back.  “All the more reason for one now,” he murmurs.  “C’mon, Shepard, haven’t you ever wanted to have an honest to goodness pillow fight?”
Tilting his head, Caleb says, “As I recall, you were an only child too.”
Kaidan grins.  “I have my ways …”
“You are impossible.”  It comes out as a grumble, but there is a hint of agreement to it.  Enough that even when Caleb finally decides to react, he’s too late.  Kaidan’s pillow is back and in his face before he even has his raised.  “Mffff!”
The ‘fight’ feels more like a war in some ways once Caleb can see again.  Adrenaline rushes through him, putting his senses on full alert.  A sheen of bluish haze surrounds Kaidan a moment later – not for offensive purposes but defensive, but Caleb doesn’t mind.  Hell, he doesn’t even think about it.  All he sees is his target.  The bed presents a fairly large obstacle, however, and once they both have banged their shins against the frame at least three times each, the battle moves out into the hallway for safety.
Caleb loses track of how long it lasts, but never takes eyes off Kaidan who manages to give as well as he receives, too.  And though it’s competitive – at their level of training, it’s impossible to be any other way when life and death hang in the balance every single day – there is laughter.  Joy.  Amusement. Fun.
It comes to an end when Caleb, after having Kaidan’s pillow stuffed into his face yet again, grabs him by the front of his shirt, drops his own ‘weapon’ and pushes him hard up against the wall. The kiss that follows is heated, hungry and very, very thorough.  The sounds that escape Kaidan’s throat as a result leave Caleb wondering if this isn’t another ploy just to stir something up between them; but it doesn’t really matter. The answer is more than obvious as they stand there in each other’s arms.
Pulling his head back, Caleb braces his hands on the wall to either side of Kaidan’s head and rests their foreheads while struggling to catch his breath.  This time, the smug smirk curves on his lips.  “H-how was that, mo shearc?”
Kaidan uses his fingers to comb some of Caleb’s hair out of his eyes as a soft smile curls around his lips.  “Not too bad for a beginner.”
The hand eventually slides behind his head, pulling him close for a much tamer kiss this time.  When Caleb retreats, however, he sees the spark back, the flames trying to kick back to life.  Caleb groans softly, but something in the look sparks his own competitive streak.  “Again?”
“I have my reputation to uphold.”
Caleb snorts softly.  “I can think of far better ways to bolster your reputation.”
The flames ignite.  “Well, why didn’t you say that in the first place?”  His hand slides down Caleb’s arm so their fingers tangle together loosely.
Caleb grins as he grabs his pillow off the floor and retreats a step to allow Kaidan the opportunity to move.  As they walk in the direction of the bedroom, he replies, “I thought I did.  It’s all about subtlety.  Why do you think I made the bed in the first place?”
Phantom and baby goat
[NOTE: Hello! Please enjoy! Also, please imagine the goat with “Goat Simulator” physics lol I was watching Jack’s Goat Sim video while writing this.]
***
Phantom wasn’t one for pets, he had no need for them and he was way too busy managing his club and workers to really keep one. One would even say that he wasn’t very good with animals, except that he was, but because his work had more to do with humans, so that’s what he focused on more. So, when you came home with a baby goat that you claimed followed you home and asked him if you guys could keep it, he rejected your request quite bluntly with no hesitation.
“No, we can't keep it.” he said sternly as he ignored your puppy dog eyes.
“But-”
“No is no. I’m too busy with the club and I barely even have time for you and-” he paused as he saw your face drop, “I didn’t mean that…” he said cautiously.
When you didn’t reply and stomped out of his office, Phantom sighed knowing that he was in trouble. If he wasn’t so soft on you, it wouldn’t have affected him so much, but he was and it did. Walking out and finding you outside his club holding the baby goat in your arms, he put a hand on your shoulder.
“Okay, what about we keep it while we try to find it a good home?” he asked.
You were enthusiastic and hugged him thank you. Phantom sighed wondering what he had gotten himself into.
The next day, you had to go into office to do some work and he was stuck watching the baby goat since baby goats weren’t allowed at your work...who knew.
Phantom sat doing paperwork as the goat kinda just stayed in the corner behind a tall gate, liek the ones used for babies and puppies, watching him. The small eyes were glued to Phantom, who did we mention wasn’t even a phantom? What was with the battle boys being named after spirits but not actually being spirits anyways? Must be a weird family thing.
Anyways, Phantom caught the goat staring at him.
“What do you want?” he asked, and then laughed when he realized that expecting a reply was quite dumb, “As if goats could talk...or even really think for that matter.” he muttered as he went back to his work.
The goat’s eyes then shifted to Phantom’s staff which was leaning against his desk. Phantom noticed this and grabbed his staff out of habit since he disliked people staring or touching his staff.
“This staff is more powerful than you will ever understand.” Phantom explained as his thumb caressed the crystal ball on top, “I use it to store the poor unfortunate souls that I get my hands on.” he continued with a devilish smirk growing on his face.
Being too distracted by his staff, Phantom failed to notice how the baby goat’s eyes grew wide in wonder as it obviously understood his words. Almost instantaneously, the baby goat jumped over the tall fence thing that it stood behind, it like mega jumped actually.
Phantom looked up in surprise, “What in the-” he managed to only get part of his sentence out before the baby goat again mega jumped, but this time onto his desk.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
The goat made whatever noise a goat made in response before it somehow grabbed Phantom’s staff by its tongue, like it legitimately grabbed the staff using its tongue that was somehow super long sticky. Then it ran out the door, or more like it mega jumped out of the office and out of the club.
Phantom just sat in his chair stunned.
“WHAT THE FUCK?” he shouted before he leapt out of his chair and sprinted out of his club and into the streets.
He could see a trail of chaos that he could only assume was because of the goat and his staff. People were on roofs, cars had crashed, and some buildings were on fire. How a baby goat could cause this much destruction in what had only been 30 seconds was a mystery...except not really because said baby goat had a staff of unmeasurable magic in its mouth.
Phantom panicked and followed the chaos. It would lead him into the dark part of the woods, and by dark part, we mean DARK PART. It was like 2 in the afternoon with clear skies and the sun high in the sky, but in this part of the forest, it was pretty dark...except for the weird red glow that was coming from deep within the dark part of the forest.
“What is this place?” Phantom asked himself as he continued to trek through the trees, “And why did the goat bring my staff here?” he added.
As he got closer to the red glow and towards a clearing, he gasped.
He saw a blood circle on the ground, and in the middle was the baby goat with his staff still in its mouth. By this time, Phantom was pissed. He stomped towards the baby goat.
“Enough games! Give me my-”
His sentence was cut short by the sound of cultish chants that seemingly came from nowhere. Looking around confused, he had no time to process or even wonder what was going on. The circle glowed brightly and multicolored smoke was being released from his gas, the souls that were trapped in it were being freed...into the circle.
Phantom could only watch as the souls engulfed the baby goat.
The chanting got louder.
The circle glowed brighter, if that was even possible.
Phantom had to shield his eyes as the light became TOO bright.
When the light disappeared, Phantom opened his eyes to see that the baby goat had vanished. In its place was a large black goat with glowing red eyes and huge horns.
“THE GOAT GOD IS PLEASED WITH YOUR SACRIFICE.” a ghostly voice said from the great beyond...or from Hell, we don’t even know.
Phantom looked at the goat in shock.
A short time later, you arrived back at home and ran excitedly to Phantom’s office to see the baby goat.
“I’m hooome!” you said bursting through the door.
“Welcome home!” Phantom greeted with a smile.
“Where’s the baby goat?” you asked cheerily.
On queue, the demon goat stepped from the shadows.
Your mouth formed an ‘O’ shape, like that surprised Pikachu meme that was a big thing a while ago.
“WHAT DID YOU DO?” you asked looking at Phantom angrily.
“Nothing!” Phantom said as he got up from his chair, “The baby goat stole my staff, brought it to a blood circle, and sacrificed the souls that were in it to the goat god to become a demon goat!”
You blinked a few times.
“No really, what did you do?”
Phantom sighed, “No, you have to believe me! The goat-” his sentence was cut off...which has been happening a lot in this story.
“Hey boss, I got those plans you asked-” one of Phantom’s bouncers walked into the office.
He was then promptly headbutted out of the office and out of the club by a swift headbutt from the demon goat.
You and Phantom watched as the bouncer flew out of the club and into the streets before looking back at the goat that stared at you both with blank eyes that glowed red like hell.
“Phantom.”
“Yeah?”
“I’m kinda scared…”
“Me too…”
FIN
[NOTE: This was kinda rushed sorry. I still like how this turned out. I had wanted to write a crazy goat story anyways since I saw Jack’s Goat Sim video. I was gonna include Marvin in this, but I kinda didn’t know how? Anyways, hope you enjoy! Now Phantom has a pet demon goat! And that’ll prolly stick since I like having all my stories take place in the same universe thing. Not that it matters, but the reader insert here would be different than the ones I use in stories with Mare. ]
The Girl Gang Challenge - Sims 4
So I’ve looked on challenge lists and I haven’t yet seen this, so I’m posting my very own Girl Gang Challenge. I typed up some rules below...
The Girl Gang Challenge
You must start with four sims.
Gender:
Yes they should all be girls. (They can be transgender girls, of course this is fine!!)
If you want to make one/all genderfluid, that's fine too. But no dudes!
Note: If you want to combine this with a “Black Widow Challenge” character, that could be interesting!
Making the girls:
They should all have the Kleptomaniac trait since we want them to steal. A lot.
One must be romantic
One must be evil
One has to have a cuddly/fluffy trait like “dog lover/cat lover,” “bookworm,” “foodie” etc
One should be the most 'professional' looking one – meaning they look like they should be managing a business or in an office, kind of classy. The rest can look/dress however you want them to. So if you want to make a bunch of punks, that's fine. If you want them to all be classy looking like characters in Ocean's 8, that's fine.
You can combine any of these traits – for example, the evil one could also be the romantic one, etc.
They should also have traits like 'materialistic'
You could make one of them the 'computer whiz' – like a hacker type.
Aspirations
They should have aspirations like 'criminal mastermind' or 'fabulously wealthy.'
Objective: You want to meet each Sim's aspiration as you would playing a normal game of Sims. The difference is that you can also use stealing to meet these goals. :)
Rules: ** (Normal difficulty setting)
They must start with the normal amount of simoleons – 20,000. So when they buy a house that's furnished for 18,000 simoleons they should only have 2000 left!
You must move them into a basic, cheap lot/starter house. They must buy a house that is already furnished. No money cheats!
They can move into a nicer house later when they have more money but everyone has to live in the same house.
You cannot buy anything new until one of them steals something. (This excludes food – obviously you have to eat so you can't be stealing constantly just to eat. Also, you may replace broken items without having to steal things)
Any time you buy something new (furniture, etc) they should steal something.
You can steal from anyone you like – neighbors, randos, etc. You may choose to keep what you steal or sell it.
Yes, they may also dig and collect things to sell but you still have to steal something for everything new you buy.
Money is shared among all members since they are a gang. The only thing they should really claim is beds. If you have a limited number of beds in the beginning or not enough beds, they probably shouldn't claim beds until you have enough.
Pets:
Yes, you may have pets but you have to sell furniture or steal something to be able to buy the pet a dish for food and so on.
Jobs:
Yes, your Sims may have jobs but they should be criminal jobs or jobs related to your character's aspirations. For example, if they're a computer whiz, they should have a job related to computers/tech.
Honor Code:
The gang should have at least three rules. For example:
'No dating the same guy/girl as another girl' or 'no dating withing the gang because this causes bad feelings in between members.'
You could have other rules like 'No bringing guys/girls home.' (Unless the girls are joining the gang)
“No getting pregnant” or “No kids.” (You can decide if you want to make this a rule or not. If you want one of them to become a mom and make a crime overlord legacy, that's fine too)
You can make house rules as well like 'no stealing from one another' or 'no stealing from a particular friend's house.'
If they break a rule they must be evicted/kicked out of the gang. They must also be ignored/shunned afterward. They can't hang out with the gang anymore.
Leadership:
Yes, one of the girls can be the 'leader' of the gang. You could have them fight for dominance lol.
You should try to meet each girl's aspirations. So pick aspirations that would make sense for a girl gang to have! (Wealth, Mansion, Party, Mischief, Criminal, etc)
They should try to get along with each other.
To make things interesting:
If someone is VERY unpopular with/disliked by all of the other members they should be evicted. But then you should have this person become enemies with their former fellow gang members and try to start their own gang! Turf war!
Teens:
Yes, you could probably make a teenage girl gang. Since you can have Teen only houses now, it should work. But the rules still apply – they have to live in the same house and can only start with 20,000 simoleons.
New Members:
You can add another gang member/invite more women to live in the house when you raise at least 5000 simoleons through stolen goods. So yes, you can have more than four gang members.
I have made my own Girl Gang! :) I’ll try to post pictures of them later.
Kyla
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
Traits: Materialistic, Self Assured, Klepto
Mikaelis
Aspiration: Public Enemy (Criminal)
Outgoing, Evil, Klepto
Danika
Aspiration: Computer Whiz
Dog lover, Gloomy, Klepto
Sarah
Aspiration: The Curator (collecting)
Jealous, Romantic, Klepto
And of course Danika's dog Bowser. He is Friendly, a Sleuth, and Adventurous :)
Suggested Difficulty Levels:
Level 1 – Easy
Move them into a basic starter house.
You choose and buy the furniture. You can buy beds for all four members.
All furniture must be cheap/basic.
Once you have the following necessities listed below after moving them in you can't buy any new things until they steal something. They also have to steal something every time they buy something new (exception being food obviously)
Necessities:
One bathtub/shower, one toilet, one bathroom sink
One fridge, one oven, two counters, one kitchen sink
One dining table, four chairs
One couch
One tv
One book shelf
Bowl for any pets created
No computer until they steal something!
Dressers and lighting don't count. You can have as many of those as you like. This includes any décor item that does not give benefits (example: clutter)
Do not alter the structure of the house until they steal something and raise money.
Level 2 – Normal
**All the rules first listed above.
Level 3 – Hard
Only one bed.
Only one chair.
No couch or tv until they steal something.
No computer until they steal enough items roughly the same value as the computer. So if you steal a bunch of stuff and sell it you can raise money for a computer.
No jobs – they can only make money by stealing things.
They can keep anything they steal if it's nice.
You have to have at least four gang rules. Eviction for anybody who breaks those rules.
I'm pretty sure my computer would burn and die if I tried to play the Sims 4 but tell me anyway which packs are the best to buy!
Sims 4 is actually easier to run than Sims 3! Especially if you only have a few packs and no mods installed! They designed it for longevity, and it initially came out in 2014. There’s even a laptop mode designed specifically for people with lower end systems.
And, fun fact, you can try it for free! Origin allows a free trial for the Sims 4, so if you’re worried it won’t run or you’re worried you won’t like it you can always download the trial and test it out! That’s actually how I got into the game.
Though I will note before getting started: Some of the newer packs require a 64 bit operating system or a Metal-supported Mac system. Anything released after October 2019 cannot be played on a 32 bit/non-metal system.
Though at the moment that basically just excludes you from the University pack.
Also note! Different people like different stuff out of their Sims game, so if it sounds interesting don’t worry if I don’t rate it highly. I tend to play with a more realistic slant, and for items I tend to like more modern aesthetics when it comes to clothes and items. With that in mind, let’s get to the list! I’ve divided them up by pack type (Expansion, Game, or Stuff).
Expansion Packs:
1) Seasons: Must Have
I will always, always, always shill for the seasons EP of any Sims game. Frankly, I am of the opinion that it should just be base game, but whatever. It adds dynamic weather and, well, seasons which are two things that will affect your game no matter how you choose to play.
Sims 4 is rather unique from previous sim games in that it adds a calendar system and holidays. Not only can you celebrate holidays, you can actually create your own and freely edit or move them around! I’m not kidding, you can get pretty wacky. Like, worshiping garden gnomes and punching each other in the face wacky. Or you can be a loser like me, make every single Three Houses character, and make them all have a lovely Christmas together because they deserve it :x
2) City Living: Good to Have
This one is down to personal taste. I love the city aesthetic, and the apartments are pretty fun to play around with. City Living also adds some interesting festival activities and four unique city districts. Another boon, if this is something you’re interested in, is cultural diversity! Sims 4 has been making a concentrated effort to include more diversity in their games, and a lot of outfits and objects in this pack reflect that!
All of the festivals and events will still occur regardless of if you live in the city or not, so you don’t have to miss out on all of the features even if you don’t choose to use the apartments 100% of the time. Though the bulk of the new game-play really is in the city neighborhood.
3) Discover University: Good to Have (Note: This is one of those 64 bit packs)
I admittedly haven’t played around with this one extensively since it just came out, but I think it’s great fun! I put Sim Sylvain, Sim Felix, Sim Dimitri, and Sim Dedue through college and it was a struggle (in the best of ways). Dorm life, subsisting exclusively on Ramen, and staying up until 2 am working on that term paper that’s due tomorrow... What’s not to love? I’m always a big fan of University packs because, again, I like to play pretty realistically. With mods I managed to get them into a collective $80,000 of college debt and can you tell that I’m an American yet?
Plus, this one added the teaching, law, and engineering professions to the game and I will never not enjoy making Dimitri a psychology professor for the irony.
University isn’t really necessary to your sims’ lives, but it certainly does help them out along the way. You can choose to ignore it if you want to, but I don’t really see myself doing that when I play, which means this pack will get a lot of use from me personally.
4) Cats and Dogs: Good to Have
If you’re really into the whole rustic aesthetic then this is definitely the pack for you. The town they added is very cute and one of my more well used towns (currently the residence of all of my Blue Lions Sims). If you want your Felix sim to have 6 cats then this is also the pack for you, because you can’t have pets otherwise.
You can also create your own veterinary clinic, which is a feature I’ve barely touched but I’m sure someone will get a kick out of! It’s similar to running a business or owning a restaurant from some similar packs.
God, and you can do some crazy fuckin things to these pets. You can basically cross breed to your heart’s content, so you can get some weird ass combinations. There’s also a paint tool, so you can have dogs with rainbow fur and cats with green paws. Oh and you can have pet foxes and raccoons, but they basically function as dogs and cats respectively.
All in all a fun pack, even if I don’t use all of its content 100% of the time.
5) Get to Work: It’s Alright
Here’s where I start getting a little lukewarm. Get to Work added three active careers (Doctor, Scientist, and Detective) as well as the ability to own and run your own retail store. And these features are fun! ... If you use them.
With the way the Sims 4 is built, having a Sim in an active career and a Sim family with more than one or two sims can be difficult to manage. You can only load one lot at a time, so if you follow your sim to work then you can’t play your sims at home and vice versa, you have to load through every time you switch. There are no “home businesses” either, so your sim either has to live “off lot” and travel (aka you have to sit through a loading screen) tp the retail store every time you do business, or you build a living space on the retail lot and try to wrangle the game into working. This means you have to manually bring your sims “home” to the store every day, and it causes some issues.
Personally, I don’t like being minorly inconvenienced, so after the novelty wore off I barely touched these features again. Most of the CAS and Build/Buy items are career or retail focused too, so I can’t say it has any must have items. I’m putting it at #5 though because I know many people love these features and happily play around the limitations.
6) Get Famous: It’s Alright
I’ll admit, I had a lot of fun with this pack when it first came out! It adds a lot of really cool stuff, like the reputation system, fame, and what is essentially a YouTuber career. There’s also another one of those active careers (actor/actress) if that’s your thing.
Fame also works in a very interesting way in this pack, too. There are “perks” and “quirks”, so your sim can have their own celebrity brand and hordes of followers, but have extremely volatile emotions or a fear of being touched. Kind of an interesting reward/drawback system that hasn’t been present in previous sim games.
Personally though, this pack doesn’t have much longevity to me. Just like Get to Work it was fun for a little while, but I don’t particularly like playing “famous” sims so many of the pack’s features go unused. The town, Del Sol Valley, is pretty underwhelming with only a handful of lots, and kind of a sunny desert-y aesthetic. Which doesn’t pair well if you like the rain and snow from Seasons like I do.
7) Island Living: It’s Alright
This pack is great if you love island-aesthetic items and clothes, tropical islands, and/or mermaids. Personally? I love all three of those things. I’ve been using quite a few of the outfits and objects and roleplaying them as “Duscur themed” for my Dimidue family. I mean, we have no idea what Duscur actually looked like, but the items are distinct enough from most of the typical items in the game that it kind of works?
Anyways, the reason this is so low is because there’s just not much to do in this pack. Mermaids and swimming and that’s basically it. There’s only one new career (conservationist) and three part time careers (diving, fishing, and life-guarding, which I kind of thought were going to be full time careers when I bought the damn thing...)
I’ll talk about this later, but the mermaids are by far the least interesting altered life state/occult in the game. Vampires (and I believe witches) have skill trees of powers and drawbacks, similar to those celebrity perks and quirks I talked about before. Mermaids have nothing like that, so they get boring to play with rather quickly. Watching their tail flop out while they’re in the bath is kinda fun though NGL.
The town is really cool though. I love basically all the pre-built lots and I love the items, but again if you like snow this probably isn’t a world you’re going to be using much. That, and to use many of the new features (like boats and ocean swimming and building houses out over the water) you must be in this world.
8) Get Together: Skippable
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seriously used any of the features from this pack aside from the town. The build/buy is a lot of Tudor style stuff, which I don’t tend to use, and a lot of the clothing is weirdly ugly clubbing clothes.
The clubs are really the big feature of this pack. Similarly to the holidays from Seasons, you can create clubs of sims that will get together and do activities. Basically any action in the game can have a club associated with it (from cleaning to “woohoo”) and you can have club perks that make your club more powerful, and sometimes infamous!
My main issue: If you aren’t actively using this feature it doesn’t really do anything. It just kind of exists as an extra sim panel in the bottom right corner of your screen. And I didn’t use it. Like, at all. That said, I know a lot of people find it very fun! I’m just not sure it’s worth spending $20-$40 of your money on.
Game Packs
I’ll just say right off the bat, I’m not going to talk about Realm of Magic. It adds wizards and wacky magical hijinks, but I bought it at the same time as University and I haven’t gotten around to playing it much yet. I will say, they added a ton of really cool objects and outfits! Especially the rugs. God, the rugs are to die for.
1) Parenthood: Must Have
Two words: Teen Angst. This pack fleshes out a lot of the younger life states. It adds teaching moments, punishments, “character value” traits such as polite or irresponsible, curfews, volunteering, sibling rivalries, mood swings, phases, etc. You want your kid to come home dressed like a bear randomly one day? This is for you.
I admit, I find a lot of the younger life stages in this game boring to play without this pack. I don’t think I could ever go back to vanilla sims after having used it, I find it that essential to my play style. Keep in mind though, this pack will only give you good mileage if you play families with sims of all ages.
2) Dine Out: Good to Have
You can own and operate a restaurant, which functions similarly to the retail stores and vet clinics I mentioned before. However, if you don’t want to own one then you can still plop them down in your town and your sims can travel there for dinners and such.
It’s really good for role playing dates and family nights out and such, but if that’s not your thing and you don’t care about owning one then this is not the pack for you.
3) Vampires: Fun, if You’re Into It
I actually played around with Vampires a lot when the pack first came out, which was honestly just a result of my life circumstance at the time (I was taking a literature course about vampires so I had vamps on the brain).
The vampire skills and vampire banes are pretty fun to mess with, and you can create a lot of pretty unique bloodsuckers. I had a Leo and Takumi sim, and the former was extremely weak to the sun and the latter could walk around in it no problem. Made for some fun role playing.
My two criticisms:
Vampires live forever, which means you’ll eventually get bored of playing the same sims.
Vampires don’t really sleep. They only sleep to recover their vampiric energy, which is only expended through the use of powers. It does not deteriorate naturally, so your vampire could be awake 24/7 for several sim days. Thing is, that just leaves you with too much time to do stuff. They’ll max their skills pretty quickly and then what do you do? Nothing.
Oh, and if you’re in to gothic-style stuff this is a must have for you.
4 & 5) Jungle Adventure and Outdoor Retreat: They’re Alright
I’m putting these in the same slot because they basically serve the same function: Vacations. One involves diving into ruins and hacking your way through jungles, the other is camping, but they’re both basically sim-vacations.
This is another one of those pack types where either you use it or you don’t, and if you don’t it doesn’t really do anything for you. Most of the game packs are like that, actually. Personally, I don’t take my sims on sim vacations very often so I mostly keep these packs around for the items.
Though I will say Outdoor Retreat added a ton of plaid so if that’s your aesthetic then go for it.
6) Spa Day: Skippable
This one basically just allows you to place and build “spa lots” in the world. It added the wellness skill, which ties into the meditation and yoga activities. There’s also saunas and massage tables, but I have rarely if ever placed them in a home lot for personal use.
Another use it or don’t kind of thing. I don’t even have a spa lot placed on my current world, so that just goes to show you how much I use this pack.
Some of the items are cool. Unless you really like those I’d say pass.
7) Strangerville: Honestly It Just Doesn’t Make That Much Sense As a Sims Pack?
Strangerville basically added a story and quest line to the game. I hear it’s pretty fun, but I don’t really play Sims for stories and quests, I play it as a sandbox game. So although I have the pack I’ve never actually played the “story” of it. It’s really not the best Game Pack to get as an entry to the series since it’s such a departure from the typical sims experience.
The town is alright, but again another desert so forget it if you like rain and snow. Unless you really really want the military career or you like the outfits and objects then I wouldn’t personally recommend. Especially for newer players to the series.
Stuff Packs
Honestly there are waaaaaay too many of these for me to rank and I wouldn’t really describe any of them as “must haves”, so instead I’m just going to put down my five favorites. But it’s really up to you to look at the items and decide if it’s worth your $10. Each pack adds a new “game-play” feature, though they’re very small and can be lived without pretty easily.
1) Laundry Day Stuff
This entire pack was actually voted on and “created” by Sims players so that’s a huge plus! More rustic-style items, and the game-play feature here is, obviously, laundry. Since I like playing more realistically, adding another chore was actually worth the money for me lmao. Plus all of the clothes are cute and comfy looking!
The Sims Team also has an amazing sense of humor and named an entire set of the items “Wicker Whims” after the WickedWhims sex mod for the game. Which, honestly? When a dev interacts with players like that it’s always really endearing to me.
2) Movie Hangout Stuff
The aesthetic of this pack is Boho-chic for some reason, so if you like that this pack delivers! The new game-play feature is popcorn and watching movies which can be fun for roleplaying families.
3) Kids Room Stuff
Another one that’s only useful if you play families, but it did add a cute little trading card game for kids. They can collect cards and battle them, similar to Pokemon. Unfortunately, adults can’t play, but I’m sure there’s a mod out there for that somewhere. A lot of the items look really good too, and I use them all semi-frequently. Kids tend to get the short end of the stick when new packs come out, so getting a bunch of hair, outfits, and items for them fills a good niche.
4) Perfect Patio Stuff
Lots of outdoorsy type items, as the name implies. Wicker chairs and outdoor counter tops and the like. This bad boy also brought the return of hot tubs (which probably has the cutest woohoo animation in the game, just saying).
5) Moschino Stuff
The items have a mostly modern, sleek aesthetic, and it adds the freelance photographer career to the game (which is currently what Sim Sylvain is employed as). I basically recommend it on those merits, because the clothes it added are godawful ugly and I’m otherwise not a huge fan of brand-sponsored packs. They’re nothing really new for The Sims, but luxury brands with hideous overpriced clothes aren’t really my thing.
Some Other General Advice for Starting Out
I covered some of this stuff further up but I’ll repeat in case people just skimmed this really long post.
I will warn everyone stay away from “My First Pet Stuff”! You are basically required to own Cats and Dogs to make use of a good chunk of its items, so you might just be wasting your money.
You can get a trial of the game for free if you just want to test it out to see if you’ll like it or if your computer will run it.
Never buy a pack at full price. I’m not kidding when I say they have sales for this game every couple of months. Even if there isn’t a sale there is a bundle option, which is significantly cheaper than buying individual packs! Discover University was $40 at full price. I purchased a bundle with Discover University, Realm of Magic, and Moschino Stuff for $50. Had I bought them separately it would have ran me $70.
In fact sometimes they give the base game out for free! I know they did a promotion like this this past summer. Sims really makes their money from Expansion Packs, so one of their marketing strategies is to give the base game out for free to entice you to play. Even if it’s not free, it’s always steeply discounted during sales. I believe you can get it for $6 right now. I have 1000+ hours in this game, so six dollars is pretty cheap for that much entertainment.
You can see every single item and outfit in a pack before you buy it. So if you’re not sure if it’s for you, just look! The items are listed right there on the Origin store page.
Mods are amazing. Custom content is amazing. If anyone is curious I can create a list of the mods I use/Custom Content I use for my various Fire Emblem sims.
