Im gonna be honest and open for a sec, and please do not take this as "oh I HATE my community or I dont like the people who watch me" but honestly as of late (and I did highlight this during the mcc bit), ive felt like I havent been able to really be in my own community simply because of the constant way that "discourse" is handled. Making vague posts and not really tackling issues in a good way, all that is going to do is just show people a big "THIS COMMUNITY BAD" sign and not actually help anything within the community, all its going to do is have the good and potentially good people leave or not join in the first place. The way that discourse is treated that ive seen has been the main reason why I have started to try to distance myself, which has been the most heartbreaking thing I have had to do. I want problems to be solved in a mature, civil way, with either a dm or a reply, not an entire vague thing that only says "bad things are happening" and doesnt elaborate on anything or barely elaboratesa and only gives people on both the inside and outside a bad sign of what the community is. Making posts whenever something happens being like "here we go again" is only going to highlight the wrong things, and actually DOESNT help the issue at all! The problems should be discussed directly with the people who are doing said problems FIRST! Bring attention to behaviors and things that arent good DIRECTLY! And also, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO!!! It is not your duty as a viewer or fan of me to be involved in any of this if you do not want to! Just enjoy the content and make silly posts! As someone who constantly tried to fix and get into every problem as it was happening, it took a huge toll on my mental health, and I want you guys to just be able to enjoy the content without having to worry about what you say about it! Be constructive! Dont make posts again just being like "wow this community is so bad" because that doesnt solve literally anything! If you have enough passion to make the posts saying "wow this community is bad" then only post about that, you are only spreading that negative message, and not uplifting anything of actual value! And to add onto this, make sure that every once in a while no matter who you are you think and have that self reflection, you should be open to being willing to learn and grow as a person! And again, I do NOT want anyone taking this as "Wow this community is terrible" but rather that we just have things that need to be fixed and changed and THAT IS OKAY! I do not hate the community, I care so much about it that I want it to be a silly place for my content again! I want it to be the reason why people get into what I do because of it again! And I want to be able to just have fun and relax without having to worry about how every single thing that I may say could have someone stirring things up that simply dont help or solve anything! And this isnt coming from a place of "I hate the community as a whole" but rather again I want to be able to exist and make content that we can all enjoy without having to worry about walking on eggshells around me or around eachother! old man mcgucket stops playing his banjo at 8. nobody really knows why. all they know is that when it’s 8 o clock, he stops playing his banjo and goes inside to work on something else. and when i say “nobody” that includes fiddleford himself. he doesn’t really remember why he can’t play his banjo past 8, but what he does know is that it’s a firm rule. even if there’s nobody there to enforce it, he just knows within himself that he’s not supposed to. so he doesn’t.

sometimes fiddleford looks at his cubix cube. it’s solved, it always is, but something nags at him to check. it feels like it’s supposed to be scrambled, but it’s not. he doesn’t really want to scramble it himself but it’s like a step in the process is gone. he solves it. he leaves it alone. something happens? he comes back to it scrambled. he solves it. but now it just sits off to the side, untouched. it’s confusing.

sometimes fiddleford sees something interesting. he thinks that it would be a perfect gift for someone. but he doesn’t know who that someone is. it’s just a blank where their name should be. but he gets these things anyways. maybe someday he’ll remember who they are and be able to fill in the blanks. give them all of the gifts he’s collected over the years. finally understand who he used to be.

nanami hated when you guys would fight. he believed you guys could always talk it out, and that every problem could be solved with communication. this time, yall just couldnt get it right.

you and nanami got into it because of the many times you’ve told him that his overtime doesnt leave much time for him to be a boyfriend. he always promises he would fix it but instead of being honest, it’s the same thing everyday. he comes home at 2 am, leaves at 8 am and the cycle repeats.

nanami told you he has responsibilities that he’s had since before he met you and he can’t drop them. he says he understands where you’re coming from but you can see it in his eyes that he doesn’t understand why you’re tripping so hard about this.

normally, he can admit his faults and you guys can kiss and make-up but he just couldn’t budge this time.

it was the day after the argument and nanami tried calling you but you wouldn’t pick up. he was at work and he wanted to see if maybe he should pick up some food to lessen tensions between the two of you.

he walks to your side of the bed and sits, although he hates outside clothes on the bed. “i’m sorry darling. i hate when we fight. i see where you’re coming from and ill make more of an effort to come home at a regular time. i’ll talk to the higher ups.” you finally look at him and sit up.

“you can’t keep making promises to me kento. i need you to take iniative like you do with everything else. i don’t want to ask you for much but i need you here sometimes ken.” you cup his cheek.

toji was a stubborn, stubborn man. you couldn’t tell that man anything if he truly believed he was right in an argument. but when you think he’s wrong and he’s hell bent on being right? oh baby. it’s hell.

you needed toji to pick up some responsibilities. you felt like he wasn’t doing enough for the house and hated that sometimes he’d prioritize things like fixing his car, working out for hours when he left a mess behind or training outside when he hasn’t put the drinks he bought back into the fridge.

it drove you nuts. you didn’t like feeling like a pestering person but you voiced your concerns while being annoyed about it all. toji didn’t take it very well and saw you as “ungrateful” and that you didn’t really “notice his efforts”. words were thrown and you both ended up in a screaming match.

you decide to give him space throughout the whole day and visit a friend and leave him to tend to his thoughts and his messes.

once toji realized you really haven’t texted or called him all day, his egos hurt. but his pride is what keeps him from calling. he doesn’t care, you’ll be back. right?

you werent tripping and you were having a great time with your friend. you had a self care day with them and talked about how you felt about this toji situation and your friend spoke their mind as well. it was great for you and it led you to be ready to go home and speak to toji.

you open the door to the kitchen nice and neat, similar to the way you clean it. the living room is put together as well, a bit unusual for toji. you see toji sitting, manspread on the couch like your body was meant to mesh there.

he’s staring at you with those love sick eyes he’s had since he met you, the “im crazy in love with you” eyes. “c’mere doll, sit.” he’s tapping his lap and you immediately go to sit in between his legs. “i’m sorry. i know you do a lot to keep this house together and i’ll uh- ill appreciate it more. i’ll pick up my slack, promise. forgive me?” he says the last part gruffly, almost like it hurts.

toji hateddd to apologize but to you? he’d do anything to see that look on your face that showed he was the man you took pride in. he’d apologize and change as much as he needed to to see that look.

“you’re forgiven but toji, i’m gonna need to see some action to go with that.” toji gives you a kiss, a tough one but with a hint of desperation. “i promise baby, i won’t disappoint.” he picks u up bridal style and takes you to the bedroom. “now lemme show you i’m really sorry.”

gojo was a person who hid things behind laughter and jokes. he didn’t like talking about the real stuff because the real stuff would have to make him vulnerable and who needs that?

gojo hated being vulnerable and open more than anything. he’s supposed to be the strongest, he isn’t meant to cry to you about things that happen during his day to day or the pressure of being the best has on him.

but you desperately wanted him to. you felt there was a bridge between the two of you where you communicated your needs and how you felt while gojo only gave you surface level things to go off of. the best you’ll get out of gojo is that he doesn’t like when you forget to make him breakfast if you make one for yourself or the fact your products would be all over the bathroom. the emotional wavelengths weren’t there.

you and gojo were fighting about small things like the fact he leaves the toilet seat up but you were revving up the argument so you could get something out of gojo other than just his nonchalant silly behavior.

“babe can you relax? i’ll remember to put the seat down, geez.” he begins to walks away.

“stop walking away from me satoru! that’s all you do, you don’t tell me anything, we have stupid arguments like these instead of meaningful ones! i tell you everything that happens with me. what makes me mad, sad, or happy. you don’t ever tell me about your day or your deepest desires. i want to know you on more than a surface level. you don’t let me in and we’ve been together for more than a year and i still don’t know you other than “the strongest” persona you put up. i’m supposed to be your person, treat me like it.”

gojo stands at the doorway, looking at you and doesn’t know what to say. he hugs you and guides you to the bed, so you both can lay down. gojo begins to let everything flow, as gut wrenching as his life is. he doesn’t shed a tear, as if he’s telling a story. a story that wasn’t about him. you sat and listened intently while he told you, and you played with his hair giving him some type of comfort as he shares.

it was a long conversation and you didn’t say anything because you know gojo wouldn’t want your pity or your emotions at the moment. “thank you for telling me baby. i appreciate the effort you made and it must’ve been hard for you to tell me. i’m sorry i tried to push you so hard but i want to be able to understand and grow with the man i have in front of me, you know?” you sigh, feeling a bit silly.

gojo looks up at you with his bright, blue eyes. “i’ll open up more baby, i swear. i don’t want to keep you at a distance like the way you’ve been feeling.”

Man, I'm gonna be honest. I played the two partnered endings back to back to see the differences and I like the detective kuuno ending more than the one where we recruit kim! Its just much more fulfilling emotionally!!!!

Kim is overall very serious and composed about stuff and hes well respected by the other cops. When you get to keep your job and recruit him it DOES feel good!! Because it was smooth and really cool of him to defend you like that and you've gotten yourself a friend! a friend who truly trusts you and believes in you. Kim is the nicest and most patient man on planet earth.

But Cuno??? It's a different message. Cuno knows fuckall. Nobody there respects him and he doesnt have the measured responses and fancy words kim has, just pure utter PASSION. He almost cries of RAGE when people dont listen to him when you're trying to convince everybody about the Phasmid. Jean specifically is a cunt to Cuno and spaces out all the time and doesnt listen to anything he says ("you're hearing, but you're not listening"). Nobody believes him. Nobody takes him seriously. He's used to that, i bet.

During the islet section, Cuno is A LOT like Harry. having him around as your partner isnt like having kim at all. he doesnt help with cop stuff or adult stuff. rather, he says your lines for you. i just played the one with kim and CUNO SAYS WHAT YOU WOULD SAY IF YOU WERE WITH KIM. he has the same thought processes as You do. he asks questions just like you do. he acts a bit like you do. he makes comments you would sometimes. He literally says YOUR lines in his runs. and hes impulsive and a child, so he asks it willy nilly. you have to be the responsible one now, you need to hold him back if anything.

And then the way cuno literally BEGS the officers to let him join? to take him away from martinaise, to give him a better chance at life. Hell do anything, he promises to stop saying shit, he promises to behave. Just get him OUT of there. It feels like there are WAY more stakes, so the emotional payoff is MUCH higher

(If you like cuno of course. Which i do. theres a LOT to unpack regarding that boy.)

Like, seeing him EXCITEDLY skipping to the coupris kineema and opening the door to the other cops?? It feels good!!!! It feels really good! Like on top of everything you did, you also got to take this kid out of that shithole, to give him a chance.

You Must Understand.

Cuno mirrors Harry in MANY ways.

Nobody respects Harry, nobody respects cuno either. Harrys just some insane alcoholic, cunos just a delinquent kid. Neither are considered particularly trustworthy by the people who interact with them in daily life. HOWEVER. cuno has the spark and excitement harry lacks when harry lets him come along. he has hope. he wants to help, he wants to participate even if he doesn't quite know what he's doing. Why? Because if you got him in your party in the first place, it means he feels comfortable around you! For real, when you get that kid to respect YOU he REALLY starts trusting and looking up to you. He's ride or die. For hells sake he chooses HARRY over cunoesse! You don't belittle him and his interests like Cunoesse does! He gets to be unashamedly himself! Plus you're HIS pig. He already very much has a cop/detective fixation and during the entire time he's around harry he's absolutely PUMPED to be solving the crime with him and he's more than willing to help you out and give his two cents on the matter even if he doesn't really know anything about anything.

And so WHAT if he's just some kid? So what if he's POOR and doesn't have a camera to photograph the phasmid? He talks about harry a LOT more than kim does and with awe in his voice. He defends harry until the fucking end and he does NOT stop. He literally doesn't shut up. he just keeps fucking GOING. He blurts stuff out to defend you even if it's not helpful because he respects harry!!! truly respects him! he WANTS to help. he'll say stuff even if his words fail to convey properly what he means.

And then what?? You do the same for him. Well, youre giving me a chance right? Then take the kid along, he helped. He has nothing, his dad is a wasted dying drunkard (like me) and hes poor (like me). But he did good (i did too). He has potential (do do i). Hell behave (i'm trying to behave). Hell be a good detective (like me. he's just like me). PLEASE take him in (you're giving me a second chance, give him one too).

I Need you to understand. In my playthrough i got harry talking about how he feels like he had children at home when he's asked if he has a family. He feels like he has children, daughters. But alas. You're hit at the end of the game with Dora's 'i terminated our pregnancy because youre poor.' I get a feel that he WANTED to be a father. He wanted a family, but he was just So Fucking Mentally Ill about Everything it never came to be.

But honestly? He'd be an alright mentor figure. He clearly enjoys older kids, despite what he says about not being good with kids. He was a high school teacher! He's Clearly used to dealing with older kids and delinquents and he can talk to them like an equal, if he wants to, he can crack them too! He can be understanding.

And so what? Hell never have Dora's kids, but then he, harry (the drunken cunt) (the cunt everybody hates) (the fucking asshole), can be nice to this delinquent addict child a bunch of times (a foul mouthed jackass) (everybody Loathes that kid) (he doesnt know love) and then said kid starts following him like a lost puppy the moment harry needs company THE MOST. -edwards the most intelligent man in gotham, of course he noticed that his life was a game. and over time, he learned how to manipulate the game around him and "see" into the outside world

-the disc hes on was sold by the original owner, and now gets passed from person to person from secondhand game shops. the disc is always returned because somethings wrong with it. nobody puts two and two together and realizes they only start having game issues when they look up answers to the riddles

-then you buy the disc. edward is mildly interested in you, as he is with everyone who buys his game, but he assumes it wont last when you struggle with his riddles. whatever, at least he can enjoy messing around with your game

-but then you dont look anything up. he watches you intently, he even hacks onto your phone to check if youve been searching answers, and youre all clear. sure, you struggle at some of his puzzles (who doesnt?), but you never cave and look up how to solve it, no matter how long it takes you

-now that hes poking around on your phone, he sees that youre kind of a shut in. you dont have many contacts, and the one social media you have is tumblr. but it looks like you fixate on him a lot, almost to an unhealthy degree. its flattering- of course someone as excellent as him deserves sycophants! and he especially deserves one as devoted as you! youre smart, and determined, and oh lord, hes in love

-you have things to do during the day, you cant spend all your time with him on the disc, so he listens in on you from your phone. theres not much to do when youre not playing the game, so its his favorite way to pass the time. when you get home and start playing, he tries to interest you in his sidequest over everything else. he even keeps an eye on you as you sleep! he has to make sure youre safe, after all

-when youre not playing, he focuses on finding a way out to you (or bringing you in to him). he needs to be able to hold you, to keep you safe himself, and if he has to drag you kicking and screaming into the game with him, he will. not that he really knows how to do that, but he'll figure out something

-on your end, you dont notice anything at first. maybe his lines when you play are a little... flirtier? but other than that, the game is fun. you feel particularly drawn to the riddler sidequest, hes your favorite character after all. then, you notice that his lines are strangely specified to you, making references to your interests and personal life. maybe its just reading your console? yeah, a fun little meta thing!

-but then it gets concerning. he calls you by name. not the name on your console, your real name. hes talking like he knows you as a person. hes saying how much he needs you, how much he adores your dedication to his riddles, your dedication to him. you decide this is too weird, you have to return the game. so you go to take it out, and-

-you wake up in what looks like the abandoned orphanage from arkham knight. you try to move, but you feel arms squeeze you tight

-"there you are, my dear player. we're going to have so much fun together"

so. the new volcano world quest, the culmination of our pet suarian world quests in natlan. and why its fucking bad. spoilers, of course.

first of all, nothing fucking happens in this quest line. it starts with intriguing premise, but there is no actual story by the end of it. like first world quest in a chain is just to go to a temple bc not sus at all guy tells you to, do the puzzles, get some lore descriptions from the murals, thats it. then in the next world quest, you go to ruins, do some puzzles with random girl you just met, get long walls of text of lore descriptions for the victim of dragon eugenicist experiments, then you have to fight him to put him to peace or whatever, and he dies. thats it.

wait no, random girl is actually a ghost? and she disappears? it doesnt matter bc in the end turns out shes actually dragon eugenicist in disguise, but even before that reveal, i have no idea why was i supposed to care about her. she's just there to plot device you thru puzzles, you don't know who she is or whats her deal.

i know that there's lore about her in cinder city description and some weapons and whatever, which leads me to my first point. hidden lore given in random parts is not a story. its one of the possible ways to introduce worldbuilding to the player, and it should SERVICE the story. i think too many games trying to copy dark souls with this shit, and even dark souls rarely gets it good. in this natlan quest, there is no story to service with lore. its just random bits of info. compare and contrast to remuria, which also has a lot of associated lore in golden troupe and item descriptions, but when you get there, all characters and story stand on their own. you don't need to read these descriptions to know whats going on and care. reading additional lore gives more depth, but it does not try to pretend to be the main narrative.

next, the eugenics victim, och-kan, who we have to kill in the end. like. sad and bad for him, still not a story. nothing we do in that quest have anything to do with him, we just get lore descriptions outside of our current narrative (solving puzzles bc we think it will help our baby pokemon) and then we are told to kill him. again, compare and contrast with elynas' world quest. he also has a tragic backstory that we learn during the quest as lore drops, but we also have a primary story about melusine connecting with him as her father, about elynas choosing to protect melusines even if it costs his own chance at new life, we get to see that conflict of self-sacrifice and loneliness and interact with him in the context of that larger narrative. if instead we just learned his tragic backstory from walls of text, did some puzzles, and killed him, it would literally mean nothing. lore has to exist in the context of current narrative to have meaning.

now, to the last part. can you guess the plot? you do the puzzles with nothing else going on. and then you get to the ending "choice". yes, there are walls of text lore drops too, but like these transcripts of zoom meetings of dragon bureaucrats telling each other to get good do not actually contribute much, and i actually want to make another post on worldbuilding and exploration and have this one focused on a story.

so the ending is "plot twist" that the dragon eugenicist was actually like every single npc we met in this quest chain. which like. who cares, these npcs were plot devices players wasn't attached to anyway. i really doubt anyone's mind will be blown be the reveal. but thats small beans, the main part is that eugenicist evil plan.

which is too use the prev pyro sovereign's created mcguffin to turn everything in natlan into phlogiston. like. BEGGING hoyo to come up with the villain plan that is not merging everything into evangelion mush. like at least in previous quest chains there were a lot more going on on top of the merging into mush. in sumeru it was a story of my girl Jeht and her father, there was akademiya researcher learning to respect desert history, there was jebrael's history with other mercs, there was jeht's struggle to fit in and desert politics. in fontaine, each word quest had a complete narrative able to stand on its own, but all of them were interconnected and coiled together. in this natlan world quest, there is not even one story able to stand on its own!

and like lets look at why our villain wants to do the phlogiston mush. he thinks dragons are evolutionary dead end, so initially, he was into eugenics and wanted to create a human dragon hybrid. that shit failed, then he says he decided to wait and give humans time to prove themselves. but now he thinks they failed too and they will not be able to stop the abyss, and so to make sure abyss doesn't consume teyvat, he wants to turn teyvat into phlogiston mush.

which like. grandpa, what the fuck are you talking about. natlan JUST defeated the abyss and threw it out. hes like ugh i hoped humans would become ubermensch, but they still worships ~the archons~ like weaklings. like bro, our mary sue queen mavuika literally took no Ls. name one problem she didn't steamroll. she won the war, she threw abyss out, she actually beat up the heart of the abyss, she got out of ronova's death deal, she had capitano merge with night kingdom, making it immortal. if this is not a proof that humans can defeat abyss, i dont know what the fuck do you want.

so this creates a clear dissonance, bc this world quest has pre-existing end with the mush, but writers don't know how they can come up with any plausibly non-evil explanation for it. so they ignore actual state of the world - which is that natlan just kicked abyss out, - and use abyss as just an excuse for the mush even it it makes no sense.

now to the mush "choice." you, as a pokemon we've traveled with, need to choose to mush everything into phlogiston or not. and we get a hsr fake choice where if you pick to do the mush, game just resets you on the dialogue before it. so you HAVE to pick to not mush it to progress. and like who is this fucking for??? players who do want the choices in video games like myself will only get infuriated bc this is obviously bullshit and fake choice. ppl who do not want the choices will not even notice and click thru. so why is this here.

like fucking OBVIOUSLY they will not actually let you turn the world into evangelion mush. not even 5 years old will buy this as a real option. so if they really wanted to center this stupid quest around this fake pokemon choice, they could have at least faked it better. like. we have all these mini quests with our pokemon we get during exploration. they could have added little choices here. like. support your pokemon or not? help him make friends or not? obviously absolute majority of players would choose to be nice to a baby pokemon. but even so, if in the end the pokemon listed these actual choices the players made, players would feel like they actually did sometjing that mattered. and for the assholes who were mean to pokemon on purpose, they could have a boss battle with the pokemon. it doesnt show up outside of its own world quests, so it would affect literally nothing in global. and like it would still be bad quest line, don't get me wrong! but it would at least not be so egregious.

so what we have is a quest line with no plot and with a cliche fake choice at the end. this is rock bottom of quest design. also, someone please tell natlan team that character walking forward while repeating phrases about how they should give up show up in the air is not a groundbreaking character conflict they think it is, bc it was already bad for mavuika.

Held together by Zam and pacifism, and well thats partially the issue isnt it ? Everyones more or less just here to team with Zam. Deraps whole thing is centered around Zam being the most perfect teammate he could find on ls, Poafa making an exception for teaming with people for Zam, Pangi and Woogie both connected to Zams former pacifism and morals, and they dont really work all that well together. I never mentioned it, but, the way Woogie was added to the team so impuslivly, with Zam asking Derap and Poafa while in call with Woogie, not even asking their whole other teammate before making it official. And like the Woogie add confuses me so much because I know him and Zam are close, but Woogie literally went on a whole rant a few weeks go about how Derap is untrustworthy and Woogie is scared of him ??? And know theyre teamed ??? I dont know, like I said no coherent thoughts but them. I dont even know if theyll break up because although Poafa doesnt trust Zam, he wanted to confront her after the warden issue is solved, and who knows if itll come up before end of season. And also just like today when Zam was saying anything to convince Mapic to team with them, she mentions how Woogie and Poafa dont fight and it really seemed like Zam was going exclude them from all of this, which just doesnt seem like great team behavior.

One thing I think thats aged really well about the game SOMA is the way AI works in it. Like this game came out in 2015 and AI at the time was so much more limited but the way its shown to “think” and solve problems and the mistakes it makes feels very in line with the way generative AI works now, at least from my limited understanding. Like the way the WAU tries to “preserve humanity” and all the things it gets wrong feels a lot like how image based AI tries to replicate images of humans (or anything) and gets wrong things like number of fingers or other unsettling mistakes, because the wau like current ai doesnt have a real understanding what its doing its just trying to find patterns and connect things together to do what it was programed to do. Same thing with the way text based AI hallucinates made up facts or parrots things people say, even going so far as imitating emotions. Like we are already feeling the horror that this game brings up and its likely going to become even more prevalent in our lives. The real danger and horror of AI isnt “oh no what if ai go evil and wants to kill all humans” its that we have made these powerful thinking machines that seemingly have no idea what they’re doing and and have no conscience and if they ever actually did how would we know because they already can do a quite convincing imitation of a human. Not to mention the horror of how it relates to us how are we going to interact with it. If its not sentient will we form parasocial relationships and overly humanize a thoughtless machine thats just mimicking us? (and yes thats already happening) Or if it truly becomes alive how will we ever know and will we end up abusing and dehumanizing a thing thats more like us than we realize?

Varmibros AU explained.!

(aka the au where Chris Varmitech is a detective whos hired by Martin to solve the case of his missing brother)

The whole thing begins with the Varmitech family, who have been villains for generations and generations. The family is cultishly obsessed with villainy and anyone who doesnt follow the tradition is pushed out of the family, who will later seek revenge on the outcast, and this is how the kidnapping of Chris happened. Generations ago the Kratt family were also Varmitechs, until someone broke out of the cycle, broke contact with the family, changed their name and lived a normal life which of course angered the Varmitechs to no end. The responsibilty of taking revenge on the Kratts fell on Zachs mom, Ivette Varmitech, who decided to take the family's youngest son and raise him as their own to set their bloodline back on the track of villiany.

(i am honestly not a huge fan of this part of the plot idk the kratts and varmitechs being related is so weird but I dont really have a better reason for why theyd take Chris so! This remains for now)

From the Kratts point of view Chris just goes missing mysteriously and no search party or investigator can turn him up. His case goes cold too fast and it really strains their small family. Martin, who was really close with his little brother is forced to grow up alone, being left with the lingering feeling of emptiness (wow thats really deep. !!)

Meanwhile Chris is hidden from public eye until around his teen years, with the excuse of his unstable mental state (which is actually kinda true cause like. Taking a 3 year from his family is traumatic even if you brainwash him into thinking those memories arent real) and at around the age of 17 he starts to join Zach on smaller villain missions but these are just some easier robberies. Hes actually fairly good at stealing and being stealthy but when Zach invented some more serious stuff and began using animals to power his inventions it disgusted him, and he grew even more distant with Zach, and also started putting less effort into anything he had to do as a villain, especially after he had to take a more aggressive role, fighting off and distracting anyone who tries to stop Zach (this is when he starts using the Zach-bot looking costume that hides his identity. The vest also gives him 2 robotic arms) and this is how he gets to know the tortuga crew, who are extremely similar to their canon versions, with the absence of Chris of course. (The crew knows Zach has a brother but dont know that hes behind the mask of his right hand-man who they nicknamed the crawler)

Anyways, unlike Zach, Chris' main focus is not the villain business. He became a detective, as this is like the only thing his parents let him do that he actually loves. But one day, he gets a strange call. Martin Kratt, one of his brother's biggest enemies, a man that he himself had to face many times in his villain disguise, wants Chris to take on the case of his missing brother. Hes immediately suspicious, thinking its just a coverup and Martin actually wants to get some information about Zach or something, but after meeting up with Martin he realises hes very serious about wanting to hire him to do the investigation. He looks at the unsolved case of Chris Kratt, a 3 year old who went missing without barely any trace almost 20 years ago, and despite knowing that he probably wont be able to turn up anything new for Martin, whos convinced that against all odds his brother is still alive, Chris decides to take the case.

Martin is quick to help Chris in the investigation, and he is surprised to discover that the detective is the opposite of Zach in a lot of ways. Unlike his brother, Chris seems to love animals and has a respectable knowledge about them, and just like Martin, he also has his experience with complicated familial relationships, and the two of them grow close while digging themselves deep into the investigation. (And yeah maybe Chris reminds him of his brother, maybe he just wants to protect Chris from his dubious brother and parents, or maybe he feels connected to him in a way he cant name)

Meanwhile Chris faces the internal struggle of wanting to stay friends with Martin, but also knowing that hes secretly the villain who Martin has to fight every now and then, and he feels extremely guilty for decieving him, but hes too scared to tell him because of his major abandonment issues, but he also cant stop being a villain due to the pressure his family puts on him. So now he has to miraculously solve the case of Martins brother, while he actively tries to keep his identity a secret, and tries to avoid Zach, whos always happy to remind him that no matter how morally superior Chris feels hes still lying to the tortuga crew and that he better stop this little game of his before their parents find out, or before the crew discover his identity...

OK SO THIS EP WAS THE WRAP UP EP OF THE ARC not the last one,,, i was worried we'd be in the thick of it but it's okay we're not there yet,,, we'll just be in the thick of it in the FOLLOWING episode LMFAO

but yeah a lot of wrapping up in this ep,,, closing loose ends,,, methinks we are in the endgame,,,

i'm SO happy that the venetos got a happy ending. it's really sweet that the chief has a better relationship w his family,,, none of that verbal abuse or anything anymore,,, so sweet look at them,,,

if more time was spent on this arc it would have been nice to see that gradual change and realization that he's been treating them poorly, but seeing as we're hitting endgame stuff it makes sense that this buffer arc was a shorter sweet redemption,,, it was nice,,, i ended up happy about it in the end nodding emoji

ALSO THE BRIEF MEMORY OF SUHO AS A KID WITH HIS PARENTS. SSTOPPP OH MY GOD he misses them ,,, ohhh his expression here,,, that's longing,,, ohhhh my god

this was a very nice wrap up of loose ends tho, a mini arc of sorts to give us time to chill,,, i liked this,,, the start of arc was rough at first but yeah honestly with the end of this arc, it makes sense tto me; we just got out of a tense situation regarding lloyd's heart,,,,, so i really appreciate this little breather between that and the ending spoiler,,,

i keep feeling the need to apologize for being so negative all the time, the truth is i am not satisfyed at all with anything i draw or write anymore, it feels bland and uninteresting like its lost anything that used to make it not so, i dont know how to change that, and the few people telling me otherwise are likely tired of it (i do not blame anyone even for a second)

'draw for yourself' really doesnt work for me, i cant not draw, despite trying that too, bc then theres nothing left to do, but i mainly draw bc i need to connect with people, show people stuff and see if they like it, see if i can bring something new to the table, it makes me feel less alone and like theres actual merit to what i do, like all these brainworms arent worthless, i havent actually lost my mind, .. not healthy but its how i have been hanging on for the last few years of my life

and i see im slowly losing everything on all ends, the stuff i post used to be what kept me afloat mentally while life is shit, but its all going downhill, and it has been for a while, im not blaming others for it, i know the problem is on my end, i just dont know how to solve it, its on me to make something interesting that compells people, not that they own anything to me, obviously, but i feel i lost everything that used to make things interesting, my brainworms have gotten old and boring, the slow speed and amateurish way i present stuff likely contributing to it to no small part

i hate disappointing or letting others down, i constantly feel like i am not delivering anything worthwhile, making promises i cant uphold to compensate, setting higher standards and expectations to myself to compensate, i need to be better, somehow, at some point i have to get better at it- theres also the guilt i feel for not being able to do anything for the people that keep being nice regardless, i need to do extra good for them! i have to make it up to them! make it worthwhile for them at least bc if anyone deserves it it is them!

its a self perpetuating downwards spiral, ironically enough, i know talking negatively all the time is annoying and is only making it all even worse, its alienating even more people, understandibly so, but my eternal problem is not being able to shut up, i cant pretend to be happy, sure, but i cant even shut up about it, so here i am being annoying about it once again

oh am i excited to talk about this. buckle in because it is a bit much

preemptive tldr: i have a rainworld adaptation of the făt-frumos tales where f-f stars as an overly prideful slugteen (pictured below looking moody) getting a body horror-y reality check

so! the name of this adaptation is the împărăție colony and as mentioned above its my little for-fun project based off of the original făt-frumos stories. for those who don’t know, f-f is a romanian folkloric character

some elements were changed (f-f is no longer the son of a king because there’s only one slugcat colony in this region, so i could only have a prince or a princess but not both if i wanted to keep the generic romance plot) but most were preserved, with f-f still having calul năzdrăvan (now a noble blue lizard steed inherited from his father) and with there still being the classic villains such as both balaur (infamous mutated red lizard) and zmeu (random iterator the slugcats abstracted into the Big Bad)

the story goes that the local iterator is collapsing and its bioprinters have gone haywire, so now it bleeds out nasty and highly mutagenic sludge. the local slugcat colony has not taken kindly to the deadzone and mutated fauna, but they also dont really understand what a bioprinter or hazardous chemical agent is, so they formed a mythological universe around the iterator

his name is zmeu, he’s a wretched 6 legged monster, he’s bleeding poison, he’s representative of all ill will and evil in the world, and all of his children are accursed nightmares. anything that’s been afflicted by zmeu gets the misnomer “child of zmeu” (misnomer because almost every "child of zmeu" was not born that way)

so in comes f-f: he’s the son of rege (who is again not actually the king), and rege was renowned for his incredible fighting prowess until the balaur got the best of him and left him unable to fight like he used to. f-f isn’t supposed to step up to his fathers position yet but his dad’s hand is forced, so he hastily passes on his trusted lizard (calul) and goes hey son, surprise! youre taking the mantle effective immediately

f-f eventually ends up on a mission to go slay zmeu and to find ileana, the colony leader’s daughter, who had gone missing very recently and who f-f also happens to have a fat crush on. so boldly he sets off with calul năzdrăvan

the story starts off very lighthearted and in its own head– f-f is young, rowdy, concerned with superficial things, and he’s had his ego gassed up by his colony which has its emphatic faith in him. he’s in a total fantasy world off to slay this big monster and come home as the hero with the girl, but as the story goes on, things get too real for him. balaur hunts him relentlessly and tests his grit, he sees the extent of the pollution and the environmental havoc, everything he's heard in mythos becomes less of a concept and more a frightening reality, and surviving in rainworld is just plain difficult, so his self confidence wanes. it reaches a breaking point when he eventually finds ileana, who is by now to his horror a child of zmeu

he does find his way to zmeu’s puppet chamber but it doesnt bring him any sense of completion. his only real options are to leave empty handed or to “kill” the puppet, both of which don’t solve anything... its all in all not a fun time but it teaches him some really important lessons about humility and about how small he really is in the world

its not a narratively complex or serious story and it can be cliché or even nonsensical at times, but i have a lot of fun with the characters, and im entertained by the idea of morphing a fun and shallow fantasy shindig into something frightening and slightly depressing over time
