Why I think Russell Adler is going to make a comeback in COD 2024

Disclaimer: This is all just speculation on my behalf of course. I've just tried piecing stuff together for fun because Russ is one of my fave BO characters even though he's a bitch but i need more Adler content stat. <33

Let's get into it peeps. HEAR ME OUT.

Buckle up. Gonna be one hell of a ride folks 🤪

We'll start off with some random/background info.

Russ was born on February 12th 1937 so that would make him 53/54 in the Gulf War era. This actually isn't that old because if you think about it, Woods was about to turn 51 in 1981 during the Cold War campaign. What's a few more years?

We last saw Adler in action post-campaign in Warzone 1.0 cinematics but we've been kept in the dark about Adler's whereabouts post-1984 (after being brainwashed and killing Stitch LOL).

This meanie in a beanie wasn't forgotten about, oh no. He appears in the new cinematic intros on startup for both MWII (2022) and MWIII (2023). See below:

I personally believe Adler was a great addition to the Black Ops roster and is essentially the new Black Ops 'cover boy' now. Would be such a shame and a missed opportunity not to include a character like him in the upcoming COD. One who is morally grey, does whatever he deems necessary to get the job done - a bit like Cpt. Price in MW. Got the COD fans riled up about him brainwashing and pulling the trigger on Bell too - he's already got the spotlight in both a good and bad way.

Now, let's explore my main reasoning as to why I think Mr Shades 2.0 is most likely coming back in late 2024...

From this, we know there will be a huge focus on the CIA and who's a CIA clandestine special officer? Mhm, you guessed it - Russell Adler.

Now, according to the events of BO2, it's evident which characters have the possibility of returning out of our original BO trio - Jason Hudson, Frank Woods and Alex Mason.

💫 Alex is presumed dead after Frank shot him so he's out the picture in '90/91 until 2025 when they canonically meet again.

🪵 Woods would be in his 60s during this time too so I'll let you decide whether that's too old for him to be in GW.

Edit: Woods got SPAS-12'd in the kneecaps on Dec 20th 1989 by Raul Menendez so uh...yeah

That brings me onto the rest of the safehouse crew. Since GW is a direct sequel to CW, it would make sense for some characters to carry over if possible:

We, as the player/Bell, get to choose whether Park or Lazar die (or both lovebirds) in 'End of the Line'. It's highly unlikely they'll return unless the devs make one decision canon maybe.

There could be a chance we see Sims again given his bond with Adler (Da Nang etc.), his age (late 40s in GW) and his status (alive).

That leaves the man himself, Russ. Everything from his age to the fact he's CIA and was the deuteragonist in COD 2020's campaign just makes sense for him to have at least a lil cameo or even a larger role, don't you think?

Oh lookie - they dropped syringe-lover's famous line in a zombies post. Why would COD just drop it so casually like that without a reason and years after CW came out? They could've said absolutely anything else but no, this was purposeful.

How he's only in one game is beyond me. Won't get a character like him ever again. Seems like a cliché war dude at first glance but dig a little deeper into the details of the CW campaign, peel back the layers and get into his psychology and WOWZERS.

Am I delusional? Most definitely.

But the possibility he might be returning...that little bit of hope is enough for me and i won't shut up about it.

This will age horribly if he isn't in GW. Forgive me for feeding your delusions too in that case. Please?

Trailer Deep Dive

OK, prediction time. Spoilers if you haven't seen the trailer yet.

Let's start with the episode list.

Full Moon is, I think, clearly going to be the Blitz and Stolas breakup.

And I think it's going to hurt, because Blitz is showing up all dressed up and with a candle, that he probably picked out with Fizz's help.

So like... he's finally turning the romance on for once. Has he realized he wants to be with Stolas JUST before Stolas decides to end things? Yup, this is going to rip out my heart.

But also, clearly Blitz says some hurtful things back to Stolas becase next episode is Apology Tour.

Where we get Stolas singing in front of the words "Blitz Sucks."

I'm guessing the stuff where Stolas is in this robe is also from this episode since he looks so irritated with Blitz, but I also have another theory for later...

Because next comes Ghost Fuckers, which is I think where this stuff is going to fit in...

My theory is that the Goetia realize that Stolas has given Blitz and his crew access to the mortal world and try to put a stop to it. They summon Stolas to answer for his actions and, when they try to apprehend Blitz, the crew escapes to the mortal world.

Once there, they find some human disguises and try to lay low, only to find themselves mistaken for ghost hunters at a haunted hotel. (I don't have any screenshots of that because I think it's just going to be a fun and silly episode)

I'm also going to throw out a wild theory that Stolas gets imprisoned and that's what this shot is all about.

I am absolutely LESS confident in this theory than any of the others I mentioned, but it just looks a little mystical prisony. Or it could just be a shot in a musical number. But if it's a prison, I'll circle back to this in the finale.

EDIT - Nope, this is from Full Moon. I just saw the early release of the duet, so apparently I was wrong about this being the prison thing. Though to be fair, I still think Stolas and/or Blitz gets locked up before the finale, but whatever. We'll see.

But before any of that of course, while the crew is up on earth, they have to run into DORKS and (yay!) CHERUB. So excited for this episode. I'm guessing they have another interrogation that will rip our hearts out for Blitz with all of this shit -

But it does seem like our team will get out of it just fine.

So on to the finale!

Sinmas is going to be fun.

Remember how I mentioned earlier I would come back to the Stolas in a bathrobe thing? Well, that area does look vaguely like the possible mystical prison I mentioned earlier. If Stolas does end up in priosn, I'm thinking the parts with him in his bathrobe shown earlier could also be him in this prison, being bitchy to Blitz because they got caught. Again, I'm less confident in this theory. (See the Edit above - I don't think this is what happens anymore) But maybe Blitz shows up to get him out after dealing with all the trauma DORKS forced him to pull back up, because this scene DEFINITELY looks like Blitz finally dealing with his trauma and apologizing to his dead mom.

I'm split on whether this will happen in Sinmas or Mastermind. Makes sense structurally to put it in Mastermind, but it would also be a good emotional beat for the finale to see Blitz finally confronting his guilt over his mom's death.

And as for the action...

Another year is over so it's time for a look back at what was happening on this blog! I haven't really been around, it was just my queue, and maybe that's one reason why I looked at my archive and went "huh" at everything. I don't remember much. The other reason why this year probably went poof in my head is because I was dealing with some mental health stuff lol. I say lol but it wasn't actually very lol but I'm doing better now and 2024...is looking promising for now.

January

We're in Bridgeport and Sawyer is living his best life. You know, girlfriends, boyfriends, being turned into a vampire, giving birth to three little vampires, threatening to sell his enemies' organs on the black market...best life indeed.

February

Okay I am now seeing that "talking more" about every month will be impossible since I actually don't have much recollection of 2023 lmao

March

Sawyer and Erin are at the best point of their relationship, but we left them alone for a bit and went back to NSB. Pastel just moved to Strangerville and got a...rather strange roommate.

April

The rather strange roommate becomes Pastel's rather strange wife. I love these two so much. We also say hello to Moss -- and also to Ross, who returns from...god knows where. I mean yeah, there was the ts3 Ross, but technically they're two different people. Parallel universes and stuff.

May

Thea is born and strange wife Jesse gets even stranger. That whole "merging with the mother plant" thing was kinda weird but I really enjoyed it. Idk what I was on but it was fun. And then, before returning to the lepacy, I posted my Cottage Living screenshots! ...which were really just me going "uwu what does this do" on every possible Wicked Whims option.

June

...and I went from posting weird WW Ross stuff to posting wholesome Growing Together Ross stuff. If that gave you a whiplash, I am sorry, but imagine what it must be like for me. I'm locked with this guy in my head 24/7. He's the whiplash king. A blorbo to you, a curse to me. A beloved curse tho. Ok I'm getting weird. Back to the lepacy.

Lepacy time! Loved the soap opera Generations gen. Kinda wish I had sticked to some of the storylines instead of going "eh nvm I just wanna play". I'm not saying I regret not actually letting Saywer go on a killing spree but also...imagine if he went on a killing spree. You don't see that in lepacies often do ya

August

August was...welp 💀 I was at the grippy socks hospital for most of that month, 10/10 would recommend, but my queue ran out while I was there so I just reblogged some old stuff for a few weeks.

September

September is just lepacy month. Cornelia and Archer are happy, they get married, they get more children...yeah. Good wholesome Generations times all around. It's not like they're gonna get divorced later or anything.

October

The twins are kind of chaotic, one of them turns into a ghost, both then bring their cursed imaginary friends to life...and the final child of Archer and Cornelia is born.

November

I loved running into Sawyer at the grocery store all the time. Weird vampire alleged killer grandpa behavior suits him. Dorothea goes away to a boarding school, hates it there and instantly comes back. Relatable. Oh and midlife crisis hits Archer hard.

December

And we're in December! Dorothea enters her horsegirl era and finds herself a girlfriend...and we'll continue that in 2024!

What's in store for the new year besides the lepacy? Well, Not So Berry will be making a return (and HOPEFULLY we'll finally get to the end. we need to). There's a story I want to do in the NSB universe, if you know you know. Before we dive into the next lepacy generation, I'm thinking of another BC with the gen 7 heir...oh and Marika's Black Widow. Shoot and I'm starting an irl job in January. Yeah no we're not doing all this in 2024, don't count on it 💀 But I'll try.

Scenario: Venti, Xiao, and Kazuha with Moana!Reader (Maybe someday I'll revisit this with Heizou and Wanderer as well)

Contents: a LOT of exposition (I tried to come up with a backstory explaining how Reader got this ability), gender not specified, fluff

Ok so first of all, this is different from having a hydro vision. You can't just summon/weaponize water at will. It's more like the water is its own entity and you're able to communicate with it?

Let's say that it's an oceanid thing. You don't remember very clearly because it was such a long time ago, but you first "befriended" the water when you were very little. You were playing on the beach and you wandered into a cave. You were exploring when you noticed a faint blue light. Not only is the cavern cast in a soft cerulean light, but it reflects off the small pools in the cave, reflecting patterns onto the cave walls. You followed the light until you found the source: a floating, glowing little fairy-like creature with a singular glowing eye, fin-like arms and a fish tail. It seemed to be made of water, it's colors rippling and shifting like the pools in the cave. You didn't understand it but it seemed... lost. You gesture for it to follow you and it seems to understand, letting you guide it back outside. You notice it didn't like to stray too far from the water. You lead it back to the beach where you were having a picnic with your parents to try to offer it some food. It didn't seem interested, only floating around the sandwiches and bulle fruits curiously. You hear a sound from the shore and you look over to see something rising out of the water. It resembled your small floating friend, only much bigger, towering over you. The smaller one instantly flies over to its larger counterpart -- you wonder if it's its mama -- and you watch as the smaller one zips around, practically dancing, as if excitedly retelling its adventure. The larger one observed silently, as if listening, before looking over to you. After a few moments it pivots away, returning back into the seawater. The smaller creature looks at you and does a little flip in the air before diving underwater alongside its companion.

(Basically you helped a baby oceanid return home and its caretaker put a blessing on you so that other water spirits know that you're friendly. Since there are other bodies of water in Teyvat besides just the ocean, I'm writing it so that the local water spirits wherever you go are the ones bending the water to your favor.)

Ok now for the actual character stuff

Venti:

I'm gonna be real with y'all idk what interactions would happen with Venti BUT I HAVE ANOTHER IDEA

Like in his little wind spirit form

Basically you're collecting elemental spirit friendships like they're pokemon

Xiao:

The Yaksha was in Dihua Marsh, littered with cuts and gashes from fighting off a particularly aggressive group of hilichurls

Due to expending so much energy, his karmic debt is acting up as well

Between the splashing sounds of his stumbling footsteps, he can hear vengeful echoes of fallen opponents, the ghosts of comrades and victims alike, a familiar cold presence taking eating away at his body, sapping away more and more of his strength

Before he collapses into the cold, blood-tainted water, he's lands in a certain sometimes arms

"I've told you to stop coming out to look for me." Xiao mutters gruffly, grumbling about his karmic debt and how you keep risking exposure to it, though he doesn't resist when you scoop up his weakened form.

You both noticed some time ago that you have some sort of resistance to his corruption whenever you're near a body of water, as if it's siphoning some of its strength to you. Eventually Xiao gave up trying to avoid you altogether, though every once in a while he re-voices his concern of his presence being dangerous to you and you have to reassure him that you're fine.

"The marsh wouldn't stop nagging me to get over here." You retort, remembering how the current at some point picked you up and carried you here faster than you could've run.

"The hydro spirits get grumpy when you start bleeding out into their waters, you know," You tease softly, opening up the medical kit that the water had carried over to you and was currently holding up for you to quickly find what you need.

You press the gauze against a wound in his arm before securing it in place with a bandage. As you work, you fill the silence with stories of the water spirits and their antics today, the marsh water occasionally rippling and shaping itself to illustrate what you were saying.

The entire time, Xiao is watching your hands -- not the water -- without speaking a word.

He swears he can feel his corruption fading in your presence... or maybe it was because of the water? If the water favored you and you were helping him, did the water favor him by extension?

Kazuha:

This scenario would probably be the closest to the original Moana since it involves ships in the sea

Wait you're basically like the hydro version of Kazuha. Not the anemo/hydro vision part but the way the wind is always telling Kazuha stuff

Like I can picture as you're sailing on the Alcor, Kazuha tells you what he can sense in the wind and you tell him what you can sense in the water. The different birds/fishes and what they're doing, the breezes/currents, etc

not sure if you're still doing the mieruko-chan ghost analyses, but an idea for if/when you cover the horse living room ghost again: I believe it's ANOTHER spirit form of her late father. Just as the more human form represents his love and humanity, the horse spirit could express his negative qualities (duty and independence to a fault, and the great deformity expressive of his untold woes/regrets). It'd also casually explain why it lingers in Miko's house specifically, seems to fixate on the wife's cooking, generally isn't hostile towards Miko nor her father's spirit, and also why Mamoru himself seems to be so casual with it! There's a lot of symbolism in horses in japan/shinto religion too, far too much to cover in this ask, so I'd be curious to see your thoughts on that when you have the time :) Also, I love deep dive analyses like the stuff you put out. Earned a follower.

Hi! Thank you very much. I unfortunately placed the series on hiatus for now - my series of post, not the manga series of course X) I still read the chapters faithfully, but having to list down all the ghosts, constantly thinking about every of them to link all of them together, and editing each scan, can take a lot of effort. There are just so many spirits and ghosts and clues throughout this manga - I find myself forgetting half of it some times X)

That being said your theory is quite interesting. I never thought of the idea that a ghost could be "split" into two, especially since most of those we saw before were "whole"... But we have so many strange things happening, anything is possible.

My personal inclination would be that maybe this horse entity is some sort of agent of death or minor afterlife spirit - similar in nature to the butler tending the "waiting lines", or to the grim reaper that has recently popped up in the latest chapters, or the monstrous entity that was pulling the wheelchair in the hospital. One of the "shinigami" entities, so to speak. I mostly thought of this due to the protectiveness he expressed towards the dad's ghost, coupled with how he could interact in a dominating position against the entity covering Michiru, whatever this thing is. It reminded me of how the other "shinigami" creatures truly gave no shit about the other ghosts no matter how hostile they are. This, superposed with Miko's latest question raised in the new chapter "Why is my father here? What holds him back here?" makes me think the horse-creature might be some sort of "guardian angel" or "protective spirit" here to escort him/accompany him/guard him until he has done whatever he has to do... But again, things are not so clear-cut because we also saw positive ghosts do the same with malevolent entities - such as how the ghost of the dead child told the river-god-like entity to just feck off when it tried to (devour?) Hana.

But again, I guess I personally lean more towards the "otherwordly" spirit theory because for me the horse and ghosts association when it comes to Japan is "Horse Face", from the "Horse Face and Ox Head" duo. This horse creature could be some sort of take on this mythological entity, being a reversed "Horse Face" as rather a human-faced horse-like creature... But I am just theorizing and rambling X)

I do want to continue and go back to my ghost analysis of Mieruko-Chan because this world is so fascinating - and it works as a perfect homage to the J-horror movies involving ghosts - but I don't think a "case by case, chapter by chapter" analisys truly works. I was thinking of maybe switching it to more "general" rules and trends we can notice, now that we have a pretty big number of chapters and volumes. I'll see how things go!

Hi! I know what voice you're talking about and it seems like it really sucks. I know when I can't talk..that means it's also pretty painful too. Which is once again so awful and I'm sorry for the horrible timing! Oh that seems fun but it sucks that you're not seeing a show, and it sounds like a nice tradition. If it makes you feel better, I don't have any plans to see any shows either. I mean I probably will see one eventually next year but there's nothing I'm excited for or looking forward to.

Maybe watching a bootleg can help, but I know it's not the same. I know i have said I haven't been very into or caught up on recent Broadway stuff and sometimes it does make me sad. I am planning to read the Starless Sea in January too I hope so I'll keep that in mind. I didn't think of the Pippin revival but that's also an example of a revival trying to do something a little different I think. And I actually did watch Schmicago and thought it was pretty good! They might've actually referenced Pippin with a narrator character. I think it was actually better than the first season actually and the references were a lot more clear, at least to me. I would recommend it but did make me miss Broadway. At least they have Broadway actors though. I need to get better at watching shows too..that might have actually been the last full show I watched and that was back in July lol but I think I'm just more of a movie person usually.

But mostly I'm a music person and I can recommend my favorites. Omg I didn't know that..I've seen a few clips of Fall Out Boy on tour and it seems awesome. I hope you have the best time! So I'm not as into Fall Out Boy..like I've never done a deep dive on old albums and I was more of a casual fan at first. But their new album is great and since you're seeing their tour, you can just focus on that for now. My favorites are Fakeout and Love from the other side. For Paramore, I would listen to their albums in order cuz it's cool to see their evolution as a band and they don't have that many. They also have some covers and unreleased songs too. But if you wanna start with their newest album, I think it has a good mix of all of their sounds too. It's my favorite album of this year. I can also just list some favorites of mine here kinda going in order by album,. Oh Star, I caught Myself, Brighter, My Heart, Misery Business, When it Rains, Crushcrush. Brick By Boring Brick, Turn it off, Playing God, Misguided Ghosts, and all I wanted. Daydreaming, Last Hope, Hate to see your Heart Break, one of those crazy girls. Rose colored Boy, Fake Happy, 26, Tell me How, Running out of time, Big Man, You First, Liar, Crave and Thick Skull. I know that's a lot..wow i'm even surprised. I debated cutting it down but in case you don't listen to the full albums, this is what I would recommend! For her solo music, I would just recommend hearing the albums. Anyway what other vinyls did you get?

I definitely prefer Folklore, because I love a lot of songs on the album and I just know what my favorites are. Compared to Evermore, where some of it is more like background music to me. Ive already told you what my least favorites are and I might have unpopular favorites. My favorites are Evermore, Coney Island, Dorothea, and Gold Rush and Long Story Short . I also like No Body No Crime, Cowboy Like Me, Ivy and Right where you Left me cuz sometimes it feels like a movie. Ya Evermore does feel more cohesive to me or like it all blends together but my favorite songs are definitely on Folklore. That's why I've never understood the whole Folklore is a better album but Evermore has better songs thing lol. Also now it's Taylors birthday today..yay! Are you planning to watch the eras tour movie? I think I will sometime this weekend probably. i listened to part of the first paramore album yesterday when i was getting my allergy shot! i liked what i heard, but will need to finish it and then do another listen through to figure out what my favorites are! i ordered from the dirty hit store, so i figured if i was paying for ridiculous shipping costs i might as well bundle up so i actually ordered more than i normally would: i got the japanese house's saw you in a dream & pools to bathe in, beabadoobee's loveworm + the way things go 7", finally preordered benjamin francis leftwich's some things break vinyl + ordered his to carry a whale vinyl and after the rain, and the 1975's 7" all i need to hear + i like america and america likes me (real world version) ! and i have sabrina carpenter's fruitcake ep coming in i think on friday! so definitely way too many vinyls coming in haha. i need to cool it! way too many vinyls! i still need to finish working on my little vinyl craft project too, but that might be a next week problem / after the game / after my bracelets are done! i have like 15 ? that i need to prioritize for mailing out but then i can chill out for a little bit!

what if chiyo had a crush on your muse when she was younger, and instead of ever approaching your muse like a normal person, she based the main love interest of her one shot manga off of them :) what if they didn’t find out until years later when she’s a big shot mangaka and they lead separate lives :) what if they both have unresolved feelings and maybe circumstances aren’t ideal for either of them to date :) and what if your muse confronts her about it anyway :) what if :))))))

4.) Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?

Honestly? really anywhere. Some of my fics come from sentences that appear in my brain or sometimes they happen because I can picture an animatic to a song and because I can't animate for shit- I write it. Some of my favourite fics I have ever written comes from outta all palces, Uquizz questions. Or answers. My first hangman/kenny fic came from a uqizz answer that made me kinda tear up. It is my favourite thing ive ever written. I have no real place to dive into the well of answers- its just constantly getting little idease and filling up!

10.) Cltr+f "blinks" on your WIP & copy paste the first sentence/paragraph that comes up

The first thing Matt does when he finally bundles Jay through the door to the Elite’s hotel room is grab them softly by the shoulders. She blinks at him as if he doesn't know him; confused and frog-like. The light looks like it burns their eyes and Nick tries his best to dim the lamps bestie the beds, fiddling with the buttons before the light becomes soft glowing embers and Jay stops squinting. There’s the last of few snowflakes sticking to their hair, melting away into small patches of wetness.. Matt reaches down and rushes them away, feeling them disappear against the calloused pads of his fingers.

13.) what’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?

If you can tell from anything I've written, im always big on show don't tell. Sure just telling someone something really puts the point across but I think sometimes extended methaphors and flowery language pulls so much more emotions and thoughts out of the readers and really makes me think upon specific lines. Also this is the only advice I can give to new writers, is have fun! You are writing for you first and even if YOU think its bad, theres gonna be someone out there thats gonna love it. Only You can write the stories that you wanna tell, so do it! I'm proud of you for putting a small amount of your soul into the words.

17.) What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)

I re-read some of my stuff, read some of my favourite fanfics. Talk to my big sibling about writng ideas. Honestly just try to force a little idea out. All writing is good, even if its just a sentence that youre gonna end up deleteing. Remind myself that this is for me first of all, im writing because I like providing content and I love wrestling and writing for it, I love my friends and the content they produce. I also am big on going back through comments and tags on reblogs of my old fics because that shows me that I CAN DO THIS! even if it takes me a little while, I will get something out that I will be proud off and people are going to love it.

22.) Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)

Oh boy, theres a few if I think about it. I wont write X reader because theyre just, not my style. I like going into a characters emotions and thoughts and feelings. I can't do that with X reader. I also rely a lot on descriptions so thats also another thing that you cant do in X readers. I reblog the ones that I like because I'll read them now and again. I wrote write Buckcest for reasons I really shouldnt have to go into. Things like rape or like extreme tortue is another one I wont write. I also won't write anything A/B/O or Mpreg cuz personally I think its gross. Afgain yall can like what yall like but its just not my vibe- makes me feel all kinda squirmy inside. I can't write first person POV for shit and second POV just feels odd, I think i've written it once and it was a STRUGGLE. Also just because I throw so much into fics that they get outta my hands. I could not stick to the 100 words only drabbles. Theres just so much story and build up I love to write and again with the flowery language 100 words just isnt enough!

23.) Best writing advice for other writers?

HAVE FUN! thats the most important thing! You should at least enjoy writing and it should have a possitve effect on you. It should be fun. theres also some tips somewhere on my blog. I have a tag or at least HAD a tag that should be 'mouses writing advice' theres a whole buncha tags there

The soft, deep voice of his paramour usually filled Garion with calm and happiness. But with those words it dropped a chunk of ice in his gut. He chewed on his lip in thought.

"...Fusaji..." He sighed as his lover gave out an annoyed huff, "I know. It's just. Dangerous to do that." He looked up at his boyfriend, currently snuggled into Fusaji's lap, his back pressed against his chest.

"So don't tell anyone. Just me and you. Maybe your guards."

Garion made a face, "If someone sees you--"

"Just tell them I'm just another Fusataro."

He laughed softly, "You've thought about this for a while, haven't you?"

Fusaji rolled his eyes, but confirmed the question, "I just... I dunno. Songbird and Dubois always have so many tales, they do so much together. I mean, yeah, we can go places here and do all sorts of things. But it's all just. Normal human stuff."

A soft laugh, "I thought all this time travel and monsters and stuff was too much for you." Garion grins.

Fusaji hugged him tighter and set his chin on Garion's head, "That was before it was all taken away. I don't wanna just dive head first into the deep end, but I don't hate swimming, you know?"

Garion nuzzled into the new position and closed his eyes, his hands sliding over his lover's, "I'll think of something. Maybe we can introduce some alternates into your dimension or find a way to replicate them safely. I just don't think it's safe for you to leave."

A hum.

"...I'm sorry, love. I wish I wasn't so important that it trapped you here, but if anyone found out--"

He felt his lover shake his head, "No, no, it's fine, that wasn't a disappointed noise. "

Garion blinked his eyes open and sawFusaji smiling at him, "No?"

"No, just a content one. I don't feel trapped here, babe. I have a whole world here. Not many people can say their boyfriend literally gave them the world." Garion snickered and shrugged, but let Fusaji continue, "And I think it's a good idea. As much as I want to see and experience it all, I'd rather not end up with the wicked scars Songbird has."

"That's fair..." His eyes closed again and he readjusted a little, "I'll think of something. And next time I come back, you better be prepared for it."

"Hah. Of course."

It took some time, but Garion did get something put together. And it would have more uses than just showing off to his boyfriend.

It was a whole array, meant to project a 3D space in any timeline that had been fully mapped by the Facility. And it wasn't just a recorded virtual reality display, either. One could interact with the projected beings, and the risks could be calibrated. Either they could have full interaction, able to physically touch, speak, and even harm those in the array, or they could be more like ghosts, and everything in between.

It would be useful for training, especially with some of the more challenging timelines--The Wandering Infection comes to mind--and for initiation for new potential recruits to show them exactly what to expect without putting them in harm's way.

And best of all, the array was mobile. It could condense itself down into a device small enough to be carried in a laptop bag. Considering it needed a space the size of a football stadium to be deployed in, it was impressive. And before too long it will be able to be reproduced for outposts in multiple timelines.

Garion ran his hand along the back of the device, contemplating it before sliding it into its bag. It had been through plenty of testing, so he was confident in it.

Dubois chuckled softly at him, "You've got that look in your eye."

"Dubois, do I point out every time you stare at Songbird like she's the second coming of Jesus? Typically when she's covered in blood or oil--"

"I don't--"

"Yeah, you fucking do. And no, I don't point it out. You have your Fussa, let me have mine and shut the fuck up."

A cackle from said Fussa instance across the room rang out as Dubois huffed.

"Yes, I'm going to go see him and yes I had this made because of him." He grabbed the handle of the bag and stood up, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go show Fusaji some dragons."

Do you do research for your fics? What’s the deepest dive you’ve done?

For research it depends on what I am writing about, sometimes I wing it and other times if I want a certain thing to hit right so I will research just enough to make it feel right to me at least. Is it completely accurate? probably not but I'll research to my own level of satisfaction as trying for perfection often halts my drive to continue.

The deepest dive I have ever done wasn't even for a fic, it was for a scene in an original story and it was a character interrogating another for information and I had to look up things like the history of thumbscrews to make sure I knew how they worked to make the scene flow right.

However now that I have a few fanfics I'd like to work on, who knows maybe I'll have a new deepest dive

2022 wips

happy new year everyone ✨

after dumping all my stories on tumblr I sort of just disappeared from the surface and didn’t work on anything major. work’s been hell but there’s an end in sight.

for 2022 my goal is to use tumblr more and work on growing a bigger reader base. i want to write stuff i usually don't (especally smut and headcanons and drabbles) to widen my horizon. though if it comes to the smut and 18+ content, i think i'll make a separate blog for those who don't want to read that.

i'll definitely change the visual's and navigation of my blog, i'm not rlly happy with it as it is now.

a/n: now this one. this one is very special to me and i wish i wouldn’t have plotted everything till the end because now i can’t bring myself up to put it into a decent story. it'll certainly happen because coming up with and seeing how both aether and albedo develop during their companionship hit home. this one hopefully might happen sooner than later. i loved the recent event with albedo and his doppelganger and thought maybe that’d give me some motivation but nuuh. genshin in itself isn’t just bringing me joy anymore, so i think this’ll be the last fic for genshin in a while.

a/n: now this one is also very special. when work started to go downhill, this pairing kept me afloat and going. it's become my top comfort pairing of 2021 and i need to write my own story with them, for them. this was the first idea i had, inspired by eve’s music video [yuseiboushi] that is an abso-fucking-lutely master piece. because the story ends as it ends, i decided at some point i'll write an additional chapter after that (which you don’t have to read if you’re satisfied with the ending of this story) that’s a take on ‘they’re all movie actors and this was just a film and everyone’s happy. also osamu and rin are engaged.’

reader is the vessel of the very first and oldest relic called ame no habakiri (again, senki zesshou symphogear with a huge touch of genshin impact's raiden shogun). i want her to be absolutely stupidly strong—but she doesn't want to be part of anything, cue gojo coming in and ruining her life.

there's gonna be angst, there's gonna be a war, there's going to be delicous fucking. look at it as if it's an arc before shibuya incident arc because no one likes shibuya incident arc ✨

Scott raised an eyebrow at Stiles when he slammed a brochure onto his desk; from first glance, it looked like a basic "Best Tourist Spots in California" booklet, but on second glance, that's when it fully soaked in.

"The Harvey House?" Scott hissed under his breath as the brochure was swept off his desk and into Stiles' backpack, "you want to go to an abandoned house on Halloween?"

"I want to go ghost hunting in an abandoned house on Halloween, Scott," he must've seen him roll his eyes, "dude, it'll be fun. Get some pictures, scare Malia into making out with me, all that good stuff."

"Isn't it bad enough that we have to deal with Dread Doctors and now you want to bring ghosts into it? Also, need I remind you what was happening around this time last year?" Scott questioned, a flash of the rave in Derek's loft going horribly wrong.

"Yes, but that was a demon. These are just ghosts." Stiles insisted, but Scott shook his head. The last thing anyone needed was to be followed by some entity because of his friend's curiosity.

"Can't we just go to a party? And be normal teenagers for once?"

When Stiles shook his head, Scott sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose between his two fingers as Mrs. Martin made her way into the classroom. "Just don't be disrespectful."

"When have I ever been disrespectful, Scotty?" Stiles whispered back before turning his eyes to the front of the classroom, and Scott had to fight back the urge to face palm.

'My best friend's gonna end up possessed. Again.'

Two days later, Scott couldn't stop from dancing with Kira with a Michael Jackson song blaring in his ears even though he was wearing what was possibly the most uncomfortable werewolf costume possible.

It didn't help that his girlfriend decided to dress up as a maimed Red Riding Hood since Lydia insisted that it worked well together, while Stiles had busted his gut laughing about the irony of the costumes.

'Maybe it's a good thing Stiles isn't here,' Scott thought to himself as Thriller transitioned into Somebody's Watching Me, his lips getting closer to Kira's, 'He might've actually burst something if he saw us kissing in these costumes.'

"Ow," Kira chuckled as his wolf nose smacked her right in the forehead, making his heart pound with worry; but before he could apologize or ask if she was okay, her lips were smashed against his and her hands were in his hair.

He leaned in deeper, lifting his hands to cup her face in his hands; eventually, they did come up for air, but his hands were firmly on her hips now as hers wrapped around his neck, her smile lighting up the whole night.

"Thanks for convincing me to come," she smiled, standing up on her tiptoes so her lips could press against his cheek, "I'm having fun."

"Me too," Scott smiled as he watched someone dive headfirst into the pool, resulting in a giant splash which he pulled Kira away from, "you okay?"

"Yeah, you kept me dry," she smiled before kissing him again, "my hero."

Scott couldn't keep from grinning even though the freezing cold water had soaked through his costume; "I'll be right back," he insisted as he stepped away, "gotta find a towel."

She nodded, which gave him the go-ahead to make his way to the first floor bathroom. He found it easily, closing the door and grabbing one of the white towels before trying to dry the costume without ripping the already distressed fabric.

But as he deposited the towel into the dirty laundry basket, he noticed just how itchy his back was. 'It's gonna take me a long time to take this off, and Kira's still waiting.' He thought to himself.

But, he shrugged it off and made his way outside back to the loud noises of the party.

Malia groaned as she pulled the thick flannel around her shoulders, "Stiles, nothing is here except for maybe some crackheads, and I wanted to go to the party."

"We can go to a costume party next year," Stiles whispered as he started to pick the lock, "but this might be the only chance we get to see actual ghosts."

"Fine," she groaned again, adjusting her grip on the flashlight as the leaves rustled slowly, making the hairs on her arms stand up, "but this place gives off really bad vibes."

"Got it," she heard him say as the door flung open, "you've got the EFP ready?"

She nodded, holding up the small device that supposedly would help them talk to ghosts before following him inside.

Her stomach turned as her flashlight shone against the graffiti of various vulgar words and phrases. Between that and the creaking floorboards under her feet, she started to shake again, although she had a feeling it wasn't from the cold.

She desperately wanted to cling to Stiles and beg him to take her home, that she hated this, but he was invested now, so unless there was an emergency, they were staying for the time being even though she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her.

"Ahhh!" She screamed, covering her mouth immediately as soon as the ringing hit her ears, only to realize it was Stiles' phone.

He glared as he pressed it to his ear before speaking, "Scott, I swear to-oh, hey Kira. What's going on?" A long pause made Malia's heart go into her throat, "yeah, we're heading there now," he hung up before grabbing the stuff and standing, "Scott needs help, we gotta go."

"Aw, man…" Malia used her best fake groan as she used the Polaroid camera to snap a picture of her inside of the house before following Stiles back to the jeep.

'Why did I think to take a picture?' She wondered to herself, holding the developing film in her hand.

"Okay, that's all the calamine lotion I can find," Kira explained as she set down three large bottles on the coffee table inside of Scott's living room, "are you sure this is gonna work?"

"Yeah, but…" Scott winced as he tried to use the back of the couch to scratch at the rash on his entire back, "I'm gonna need some help."

Kira nodded and before Scott could fully process what was happening, the cool lotion and his girlfriend's soft hands were moving up and down his raw, exposed back, massaging the lotion in.

"Thanks," he mumbled into the couch pillow, "that feels really nice."

"No problem," he heard her respond before pulling away, giving him the chance to sit up, "but you should put on a shirt before Stiles gets here."

But before he could even begin to make his way upstairs, that's when the door slammed open with an exasperated Stiles at the forefront, Malia wrapped in his flannel shirt right behind him, a Polaroid picture in her hand.

"You called me for werewolf poison ivy? I could be talking to a ghost right now!" Scott winced at the volume of the voice, watching as Stiles' face relaxed and he took a breath, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, thanks to my mom's advice over the phone," Scott nodded, wincing as Stiles hugged him, his arms slightly hovering over the rash, before turning to Malia, who was studying the Polaroid, "Malia, you okay?"

But she didn't respond to his voice, her voice shaking as she asked, "Stiles? We were alone, right?"

"Yeah, why do you ask?" Stiles asked softly, his hands gently taking her wrists before pulling the Polaroid out of her hands and looking at it, his hands starting to visibly shake

Because in the background behind Malia's selfie, there was a dark, tall figure behind her with its fully shadowed hand on her shoulder.

The room was fully silent in shock at the Polaroid, and Scott couldn't help himself from gripping Kira's hand before speaking up, "well, I guess you two saw a ghost anyways."

welp, I've finally came up with a schedule for asking you questions. Ok, first question, Would Gwen here have the necrofriggian babies? Big Chill babies (but named differently obviously)? I suspect that she would have them considering that that was something that came up from a... defect, bug, glitch, purposefully put design? in the Omnitrix, as such she should have birthed them regardless of the differences with cannon. Would anyone else know about the babies, considering it was treated as a secret in cannon but maybe not in this AU?

Also, what about Zs'Skayr? He (Is Zs'Skayr gendered? I'll treat them as male for the rest of this ask to avoid complications) is also someone that's independent of the events of the prime universe, and as such I'd imagine that he would still be a threat in this universe.

And the Loboan transformation that Ben went through in the OS, would Gwen also go through it in here as well? We know that that transformation was triggered by Werewolf when the team was attacked, forcing Ben to go through a gradual transformation.

Now back to Nekomata :D Would Ben ever reveal his identity to someone? Maybe Gwen and grandpa Max? Perhaps Rook if he manages to gain the complete trust of Ben first? What kind of situation would allow for Ben to reveal his identity as Nekomata that wasn't a life-or-death one? Because let's be real, in a life-or-death situation anyone would reveal their identities XD

We know that Ben is the favourite barista of the coffee, and with good reason, considering he's a charismatic info brooker that will kick the ass (or alien equivalent) of anyone making trouble, while also being respectful of the clients (because that's mandatory in a job like that one, but isn't it hard to find employees like that in this universe) and keeping their dietaries needs in mind. But does He has any favourite client, someone he's waiting to come because he geniunly sees them as friends even though they only see each other in the coffee? I'm conflicted about this. Idk if that episode was supposed to be a metaphor for teen pregnancy (i still find it hilarious that it's a cannon mpreg episode rip!), but with Gwen it wouldn't rlly work(?) She's quite responsible, and considering her personality she'd get way too attached.

So- I would say that she has a lot better communication with Azmuth then what Ben did, and Azmuth took into consideration a lot of Gwens suggested tweeks. So, no babys- srry. They'd nerf Gwen completely. (poor thing crys over the littlest things...)

You know what? what's the harm in a little childhood trauma, we'll have Zs'Skayr. Gwen never took back control of Ghost Freak after the events of Zs'Skayr. She also never defeated him the first round, it irritates her to know end how much of a coward she was as a child. But she was a child! She's too hard on herself a lot of the times.

Oh geez this brings back memories~ I remember sitting in my loungeroom watching this episode and loving it every time.

The only reason Ben turned into the Laboan was because he chased after the OG wolf man.

I would say Gwen's a lot more cautious in those cases and stuck close to Max. So she didn't end up collecting the Laboan DNA until a lot further down the track.

Maybe similar events happen with a different alien however, something Gwen can't avoid.

Before I dive down into Nekomata I just wanna make note of some Gwen stuff.

Gwen is still quite headstrong, intelligent and cautious when it comes to fighting. Quite similar to how she functions in the OG her fighting is more Defensive. Her fighting style is built off Taekwondo (I think thats what she practised in alien force...) So she's more built for self defence. She's very analytical of her opponents. Her best alien would be XLR8 (my one of my faves ngl). Using her quick thinking she can do small attacks that can weaken her opponent.

Now then:

I usually don't like to reveal big REVEALS to anyone even myself. Which can straight up nerf me when it comes to developing my own characters cause I won't spoil myself.

So it takes a lot of willpower to do this. It's my AU and I say what's canon!

The big reveal:

You know what, I thought about this a while ago. Rook is realsing that perhaps the plumbers are in the wrong. So he only whishes to hear Nekomata out. He ends up finding Nekomata after a big fight. He's quite injured and bleeding out, he can't retain his anodite form (add a bit of a concussion in the mix). Rook panics and has to throw the mask off, because the majorite of blood is under the mask. (mans know first aid). He's hesitant, all this chasing, all this fighting. Surely he couldn't! but He does. He pulls of the mask AND, oh shit, the barista!

I think around this time the plumbers had caught on to Rooks faulty allegiance and had followed him, so He finds himself surrounded. Rook places the mask back on and trys to talk with the plumbers.

They're not hearing it. And Ben, in his weary state, pulls out one of his little teleporter rocks (i forgot to mention he carries around of a lot of them, preinfused with mana as a just in case scenario) grabs Rook by the ankle and teleports them away.

Through a series of events his identity is revealed, to the public and he's on the run. Not sure how that'll go, but it extends the overall storyline!

You're right, the BG characters really don't get that limelight. So..... Blukig and Driba. He genuinely enjoys their little back and forths. Also in this universe they're gay. I can't imagine those two loving anyone else but each other.

Here's the thing: While I was still learning art, I didn't even look at tutorials. They were either crazy difficult or kindergarten stuff. I just watched Speedpaints and animations mostly. I was a hardcore furry then. But not anymore. I've drifted out of that community and no longer enjoy it. I slowly transitioned to dragons. During this time I never learned how to draw humans. That's out of my skillset now. I was just drifting in fandoms and drawing oc's, before trying to dive headfirst into the kaiju fanbase and succeeding. Knowing how to draw dragons for drawing crazy big monsters is super useful. At one point while drifting fandoms, I spent 4 hours drawing the Sea Dragon Leviathan and the Crimson Ray in the active lava zone/lava falls from Subnautica, only to lose motivation and drop the project. I'm thinking of drawing the Sea Empress Leviathan and Godzilla, in some sort of crossover (i know she's technically a Sea Emperor but i just ended up calling her Empress)

ngl i'm kinda drifting into the subnautica fandom again, but i'll try to not drop the godzilla fandom. I will find a way to fit both. Maybe some crossovers? I'm talking about both the first and the second game here.
