Some things can not be predicted or changed, fate can not be altered or they say so. Is that the case with the events that will soon come to pass? Some things can never be forgotten; they remain and ache like a dull clap of the axe against the wood. Was it fate or Gods? Were the Gods who guided these two souls to life? "Nah" would be what Hua Cheng would say. All his life all this time he acknowledged only one God. In this God, he puts all his fate, his life and his love. Only before this God he kneels. And this God responded to him in kind, this God loved him even after he saw madness and hell in his believer's black eyes.
year 2018 - Kyoto. Japan
Something was bubbling up inside of him. That feeling…was tenfold stronger now. Those eyes Hua Cheng saw.. somewhere, it echoed within him like a distant memory. The look in those honey-brown eyes... was like he wanted something from him--badly. But Hua Cheng was mute he didn't know what to say, or how to form a word. He was thrilled and afraid at the same time. All he knew was that this moment was worth the entire world. A loud clap of thunder made Hua Cheng jump out of his bed. His palm was pressed against his chest, always the same dream but this time it was different. He could not catch a breath the sweat coated his brow. The dull ache in his head and in his right eye was back. It felt as if the dagger was stuck in scraping till it got his eye out. Thunder clapped again and Hua Cheng's painful scream was swallowed in it. It was 3 am his soulmate was born. Hua Cheng didn't know what happened to him but all he knew from that night till now his headaches only got worse and his eye changed the color......
A couple of years later
All his life Hua Cheng was searching for something. Something was missing. He could feel it deep down. Something or someone? Sometimes he could not sleep because of it. For the last five years, this man has been searching, looking, traveling. In the end, he found his home in Kyoto. Yes, he came back to the starting point of the town where he was born. After art & design school. Here he found himself working as a painter and sculptor. He could be commissioned for custom work or contacted through his workplace. He had his own small workshop connected to his house. His work could be easily recognized. He didn't sign his name on his art pieces no. He would brand wood with his small silver butterfly circled with the black circle that looked like a shackle making an emblem. Fate? Did his mind or soul- deep down know part of the truth? Was he aware? No, it's impossible -- no soul can ever remember its previous life. His artistic nimble fingers touched the butterfly sigil.
The flashbacks came again. This man was in some strange uniform, no that was not uniform it was... white robes? That symbol ..that symbol that Hua Cheng used was around that man's slender neck. And the sky was full of silver butterflies like a night sky full of stars. Hua Cheng looked in front of himself, without any sound tears were born in his black eyes, and they rolled so warm over his cheeks. That feeling in his chest when you know that you lost something. That pain and need to find it. But you can not....
All this time his pain and ache in his eye no doctor could explain. No one could find a source. Some nerve must be acting up, try this medication or this one like a lab rat meds were tested on him but nothing helped. Till his black eye turned to a dark red shade. it was unsettling for his customers so Hua Cheng had an ophthalmic lens.
And just in time! he received a new email that someone was interested in his latest unfinished painting of a Chinese God....

Summer 2023's Biggest Nail Trends Include Lavender Chrome and the Fancy French
The pros give us the rundown.
by ADELAIDE GIESEY
While the fashionistas of the world dust off their miniskirts and strappy sandals, us beauty lovers are plotting our nail ideas for the upcoming season. Summer is when we tend to get more creative and playful with our manicures, which means the more inspo you can find the better. So it only felt right to turn to the experts to see what they predict will be summer 2023's biggest nail trends.
“Last year, the trends seemed to focus more on the bolder, more neon colors, with hot pink being one of the colors of Summer 2022,” says Deborah Lippmann, brand founder and celebrity manicurist. “I think for this summer, we will see more of a shift into the your nails but better look.” This comes as no surprise with popular trends such as milky manis and glazed nails continuing to dominate both on and off the red carpet.
However, Mazz Hanna, CEO of Nailing Hollywood and celebrity nail artist, believes that no matter what the celebrities are doing you should find what speaks to your own unique style. “There are no rules when it comes to what colors or designs to do on your nails,” she says. “It’s all about what each person loves and makes you feel your best.”
Below, Lippmann and Hanna break down the seven nail trends they predict will be everywhere for summer 2023.
1.Pastel Polish
Tumblr media
2. Your Nails But Better
Tumblr media
“I think there is an elegance to having a natural nail look,” says Lippmann. “Subtle nails are becoming more 'on-trend' especially with the continuing clean girl aesthetic that has taken the space by storm in recent months.” She notes that the milky nail trend can also fall under this umbrella and suggests using a shade such as Deborah Lippmann Gel Lab Color ($20) in Like A Virgin to achieve that natural milky look.
3. 3D Nails
Tumblr media
Celebrities like Dua Lipa, Lizzo, and Rhianna regularly wear nail art that gets multi-dimensional—and soon, so will you. “3D nails will continue to be popular throughout the summer, especially with all the innovation in the builder gel space,” says Hanna. She predicts this type of accent might even make its way into pedicures as the weather heats up.
4. Glazed Brights
Tumblr media
“What is great about the glazed nail trend is that while it gained its popularity through a neutral glaze, it can be added to just about any manicure for that added shimmer,” says Lippmann. “So whether you want a bright pink or a subtle pink, anyone can take part in this trend.”
5. Fancy French
Tumblr media
We’ve all welcomed the return of the French manicure, but according to Lippmann, expect to see a rise in colorful interpretations of the classic style. “The options are limitless from what color the base coat is, to what color the tip is,” she notes. “I have already seen some combinations of colorful french tips with added designs, and I think we will see more of the pastel or even floral takes on the french manicure this season.”
6. Blush Nails
Tumblr media
Korean blush nails gained popularity in the US last fall, and according to Hanna the style is having a resurgence just in time for summer. Think of the trend as a fresh take on a sheer ombre pink—the color is concentrated in the center of the nail to give that blushing effect.
7. Almond Tips
Tumblr media
An almond-shaped nail is a long oval shape with a soft point. It's very popular among those who choose to get extensions or tips since it pairs perfectly with nail art, but can also be achieved if your natural length is long enough. “I think it's very European and chic, and this is the nail shape I see being requested the most right now,” says Lippmann. Think of this as a slightly elevated version of your typical rounded shape.
8.Lavender Shades
Tumblr media
There are summer shades and then there are signature summer shades. Both experts agree that lavender is going to be the color to take over our feeds this year. “People have added lavender to their neutrals list for the season and I think many will be loving a lavender manicure, and even adding designs or a chrome finish to elevate the look,” says Lippmann. Hanna also suggests easing into the shade with a soft ombre design.

Sun-kissed
Fandom: Tears of Themis Pairing(s): Artem Wing x Laura (OC), Marius von Hagen x Kisa Ryujin (OC) Word Count: ca. 1900 Warnings: fluff, slow-burn, slight angst Author’s Notes: A little something for my dearest @iluvsexyvoltageguys and a big thank you to the lovely @janumun for proofreading <3
Every normal person would enjoy a day at the beach, especially on a day like this. It was warm, but not uncomfortably so, a soft breeze blowing across the rarely-visited beach that was only a 30 minute car-ride from Stellis.
‘How did we end up here again...?’, Artem thought, not as happy as an overworked top attorney on his day off should be.  “Oi, Mister attorney, don’t you think it’s time to take off that shirt? I’m starting to sweat just looking at you!” Right, at was the company, or rather, the dark-haired brat who was lounging on the towel next to him, rummaging through his bag. “Or do you wanna miss the chance of asking Laura to put sunscreen on you?”, Artem could feel Marius’ smirk, even though he wasn’t directly looking at him.
Dismissing the question with an annoyed ‘tch’, he turned his gaze towards said woman - Laura. His new subordinate whom he had hired a few weeks ago, and whom he was planning to promote soon. Not only at Themis, but there was the pending decision of whether he would offer her to join NXX; a decision that was not to be taken lightly, however, the more he got to know her, the more confident he grew that she would make an excellent addition to the team. Beside her there was another girl that Luke was keeping an eye on, someone in his Martial Arts Club apparently, who was to meet Vyn in a couple of days for her assessment.
Laura and her best friend and roommate Kisa were leaning on the counter of the beach bar, waiting for their orders. Only when Laura turned around and gave Artem a soft smile did he realize that he had been staring at her. “Heh, the tips of your ears are red. Did you already get sunburned or is there...”, Marius shifted his gaze to Laura “...Maybe a different reason?” “Why would I even talk to you about this?” “Aw, come on, don’t be so harsh! Even if I tease you about it, I do think you and Laura would make a great couple. But you gotta do something if you want something to happen.”, Marius patted Artems shoulder in a sympathetic way, which only elicited a raised eyebrow from the dark-haired man. “Just watch, I’ll help! Hey Laura!”
The two women were returning, four drinks in their hands. Kisa put her beer in the small cooling box before darting into the ocean and a quick ‘see ya later!’. “What’s up?”, Laura plopped down next to Artem, the drink making a ‘zish’ when she opened it. Cocktails in a can, best invention ever. “Artem is refusing to apply sunscreen, he thinks that shirt is enough protection. Will you please talk some sense into him?”, Laura didn’t pay attention to the shit-eating grin that now grazed Marius’ handsome face, but turned to her superior with what could almost be interpreted as an angry look. “Okay look, this is not debatable, you have such nice skin, and we aren’t even in the shadows right now. Turn around and let me do your back.” “It’s really fine, I-” “Don’t argue with me.”, Laura answered in a manner that left no room for discussion. “Take off your shirt.” A cheeky whistle came from Marius’ direction, earning him nothing but a glare from Artem, who now said with his back towards Laura in nothing but his swimming trunks.
“Is that the bartender who’s in the water with Kisa?”, Artem asked aloud and Laura looked at the ocean. “Oh him! Yea, they have actually met before! He lives nearby, so-”, before she could finish her sentence Marius was already on his way towards the water and after a few moments the raven-haired man starts to chuckle, the corners of his sapphire eyes crinkling “...He is so easy to read when it comes to her.” “I think he’d be just right for her, but…” “But what?” “Nothing. I’m sorry, that’s not for me to tell. Your presence just makes me feel at ease you know.” Artem stiffened at her words that came so naturally, thankful that she couldn’t see his face, absolutely certain that a deep blush colored his cheeks. No one has ever said this to him, and to hear them from her was… He couldn’t handle it at the moment.
“Okay, let me put sunscreen on you now.”, Artem heard the bottle spraying, and a moment later he felt her cool hands on his back. He shivered at the contact, electricity racing through his body as her hands started to spread the sunscreen. A small gasp escaping him, too quiet for Laura to hear. Thankfully. “Heh, sorry that must have been a bit cold.” “That’s not-... It’s fine, uhm… thank you.”, Mustering every bit of self-control that he had, he managed to stay still while Laura massaged the sunscreen into his skin. It was all good as long as it was only his back. It was fine. He could survive this. He had amazing self-control, surely he could handle a few seconds.
He was wrong. And he knew when the brunette's hands moved downwards. applying the sunscreen on his sides, her nails accidentally scraping his skin. “Haahh-!”. his entire body jerked up “Are you ticklish?”, Laura asked, her voice laced with a hint of amusement. “Uhm- Yes, please don’t… touch me there.”, at this point he didn’t know whether he wanted this moment to end as quickly as possible or to last for eternity. What Artem couldn’t see was Laura's own expression, which by far not as relaxed as the tone of her voice would suggest; her hands lingering just a few seconds longer, when she disengaged her action.
“There, all done!”, she shifted awkwardly to try and hide her face “Thank you… Uhm, do you want me to do yours too?”, Artem had no idea how he even mustered the courage to ask this question, but now there was no taking it back. “Uhm-... Yes, that would be nice. Hold on, let me unhook the clasp!” ‘Oh no…’, Artem swallowed audibly when the woman of his dreams positioned herself in front of him, presenting her beautiful, slender back only for his eyes to see. How long has he been wanting to touch her, explore every inch of her skin, kiss her and drown in her… All these urges, completely unexplored for the 29-year old man, overcame him like waves crashing at the shore. Further and further, beautifully gentle but powerful at the same time. Steady, almost predictable, though their first encounter and everything that followed was anything but. All the late-night talks about work, accompanied by the scent of strong coffee and the smile that at some point he started longing to see every single day. And now, in the golden light of the warm sun, she was before him and it took everything in him to not get too close. The last thing he wanted was to make her uncomfortable. To do something she didn’t want. Go too far. After all, he didn’t know how she felt about him… But heavens, how would he ever know if he didn’t- Hold up, was he about to follow that brats advice!?
“Artem, are you okay?”, Laura’s voice snapped him out of it. “Huh? Oh, yes, sorry…”, Artem started to spray sunscreen on her, as his breathing became just a bit more unsteady with each passing moment. He took a deep breath before his hands touched her skin, and his own burned. Forcing himself to keep his composure, he started to rub the lotion across her back, feeling a knot of arousal in his… nether regions. ‘You idiot, show her you like her, do SOMETHING!’, his inner devil yelled at him as he fought his primal instincts to simply envelop her from behind and let his hands do the rest. He compromised on something else, as his face inched closer towards her neck. Closer and closer. If minutes or mere seconds passed, Artem couldn’t tell, he was pulled towards her like a magnet. Hot breath on her skin let goosebumps spread over Laura’s body, her breath quickening, resulting in a high-pitched moan when Artem’s soft, curious lips finally connected with her skin. The sensations flooded his mind, leaving him in nothing but a haze as he enjoyed the taste of her, a mix of sunscreen, sweat and something that was her very own. Whiffs of the scent of her shampoo cocooned his nostrils; her skin was so warm, so incredibly soft. Completely out of his own control his hands gently grabbed her shoulders before gently caressing down her arms. “Artem-!”, Laura was barely able to contain her excitement, a sharp intake of breath disrupting Artem. “Oh my… I’m- I’m so sorry, I don’t know what came over me, but-” “No! I mean… I like it. Don’t… don’t stop there, please… I’ve wanted this for much longer than you think.” Spurred on by her raw honesty, her vulnerability in that moment, Artem turned her around, her gaze directly meeting his. Her cheeks rosé, her lips parted and her hazel eyes full of yearning stole all reason that was left in him. Drinking in the sight of her, this picture-perfect moment in which his wishful thinking became reality, he engraved it into his mind, so that it would never leave him. A few moments passed before Artem gently took her hands in his, his thumb stroking her soft skin. “Laura, I… I’m not really good at this, and I’ve been thinking about when, or even if to tell you but-... I can’t seem to keep my wits around you.” “You’re not the only one who feels that way...”, the shade of her rosé cheeks growing darker, Laura turned her gaze from him, a shyness very atypical for her usual demeanor. “Look at me… I… I want to be with you. Will you let me?” The young woman smiled at the man in front of her, squeezing his trembling hands. She lightly lifted herself up to be on his eye-level and within a moment their lips connected for the first time.
Artem’s eyes widened, but after a second or two he regained his composure just enough to react, leaning into the kiss. It was a chaste, gentle kiss, full of the unspoken feelings that have accumulated over the past few weeks and months, threatening to overwhelm them both. But this was not the time. Artem smiled into the kiss before he slowly disengaged, pressing his forehead to hers, as they both savoured this moment as the sun started to set. Meanwhile in the ocean. “My god… did you just see that!?”, Kisa squealed with excitement, full on having witnessed their kiss. “Was about time, don’t you think?”, Marius grinned, knowing, or rather thinking that this was his victory. “Brings back memories, huh?” Kisa raised her eyebrow at the statement. A memory she forced herself to forget, of a lonely night in a new city, where she met a handsome stranger at an art gallery, both intoxicated by one another, fitting together like two pieces of a whole. One night… a single, unforgettable night. “I told you already… I don’t remember.”, she lied.

Himikiyo Week Day 3: Fashion + Makeup
When dedicating an evening to something, wasn't it best to just go all the way with it? It wasn't as if they had many other calming activities, nor did they have any more pressing matters to attend to. Spending time together and enjoying a bit of peace was all that mattered.
Doing each other's makeup is always a pleasant way to spend time.
Read on AO3 or under the cut
A warehouse wasn’t the most traditional place for a date. It was full of cramped, cluttered shelves, illuminated by harsh, industrial light. There was nowhere comfortable to sit. It was more likely than not that someone would interrupt — Himiko was expecting the door to burst open at any moment. She’d be lucky if it wasn’t Tenko. Despite all of that, there was nowhere else she’d rather be at the moment.
“I’ve always found it impressive how well stocked this place is. It seems our captors truly are prepared to keep us here as long as necessary.” Korekiyo leaned against the nearest shelving structure, arms crossed. “Not only do they cater to everyone’s preferences when it comes to the essentials, like food and clothing, they provide near-endless entertainment and luxuries. It’s fascinating.”
“Everything’s restocked so often too,” Himiko chimed in. “I’ve never heard anyone complain about being out of something.” And yet, how were new supplies delivered? Nobody had ever witnessed it happen, nor were they aware of any potential entry points, aside from perhaps the end of the underground tunnel they were never able to get through. It was a question that had crossed her mind more than once, and one that Korekiyo voiced as soon as she thought of it again.
“However are they able to make deliveries undetected?”
“They must have powerful magic,” she said solemnly. “Invisibility and space-type magic? It’s not easy.” The truth, of course, was that she had no idea. They both knew that, but Kiyo always played along with her magic-themed excuses. It was one of the many things she loved about them.
“Well, if even an expert mage thinks it would be difficult, then they must be formidable opponents indeed.”
“We’ll all defeat them and get out of here someday though. I’m sure of it.” She closed the distance between them in just a few steps, winding her arms around Korekiyo’s waist and leaning her head against their chest. Feeling their arms wrap around her in return, she was content to just stay there for a few moments, savoring their embrace.
“I agree. And to me, how long it takes is of little consequence. With plenty to observe, and you by my side, I am content. My other goals can be...put on hold temporarily.”
“What kinds of goals? You mean the stuff you have to do for your sister?” Despite having spent months getting closer and closer, Himiko still didn’t know what those goals were. Korekiyo was cagey about their past. No matter how much she pushed, it felt like they were always holding something back. They had an older sister who died, but she didn’t know when or how. They had a mission they apparently promised her they’d complete, but Himiko didn’t know what it was. There was always more to learn. She was doing her best to be patient.
“Yes, precisely.” A bandaged hand carded through her hair once, twice. Gentle, yet somehow perfunctory. “No need to focus on such topics right now though. I believe we’re here for something else, aren’t we?” There was a hint of playfulness creeping into their voice, and when Himiko pulled back a little, she could see the slight crinkles in their mask, suggesting that they were smiling beneath it.
“Yeah,” she said, lips quirking into a smile in return. Despite how long they’d been lingering there being affectionate, the warehouse wasn’t actually the main destination for their date. It was just a necessary stop along the way. They had to pick up a few things for their cozy evening together. “Shall we?”
It seemed they hardly needed reminding. The words were barely out of her mouth by the time Korekiyo was turning to inspect the shelf in front of them. They stayed at a cozy distance though, brushing against her side every time they moved. Surprisingly enough, the little cosmetics section wasn't as picked over as one might think. Everyone either didn't care about such things at all, or could take things in moderation. The one exception to that might have been Miu, but she was just one person among sixteen. Their date wouldn't be ruined by her.
One by one, different shades and formulations of makeup were plucked from the shelf and placed into the bag Kiyo brought. They took turns picking things out — a tube of brightly colored lipstick here, a shimmery eyeshadow there, until they had a nice collection of things. Not only makeup, but nail polish and hair accessories too. When dedicating an evening to something, wasn't it best to just go all the way with it? It wasn't as if they had many other calming activities, nor did they have any more pressing matters to attend to. Spending time together and enjoying a bit of peace was all that mattered.
"I think these would look cute on you," Himiko announced, holding up a small set of barrettes. They seemed to have a Halloween theme — little ghosts, bats, and jack o lanterns. Though the style was much more cutesy than their usual macabre aesthetic, she thought it would be nice to see anyway. In her opinion, creepy-cute was pretty much Korekiyo's whole thing.
"You think so?" they echoed, a thoughtful hand cupping their cheek. "Are they even seasonally appropriate?"
At that question, she had to pause, biting her lip. She wasn't sure, she realized. After so long inside the academy, it was sometimes difficult to keep track of the days. The fake outdoors always looked the same, but that didn't mean much inside the dome encasing them. Couldn't the 'weather' be whatever the kidnappers wanted it to be? It felt like it should be autumn by now.
Before she could speak, Korekiyo beat her to it.
"My apologies, Himiko, dear. It wasn't my intention to remind you of any unpleasant thoughts. Halloween is lovely no matter the day." They seemed genuinely sheepish, or as close to it as they ever got, which was only ever around her. She brushed it off though, shaking her head and tugging them into a brief, sideways hug.
"It's okay. Don't worry about it. If we have enough, let's just get out of this warehouse before someone comes by to distract us," she said. "I don't feel like sharing you tonight." Just as she predicted, that seemed to make them smile behind the mask.
Once they’d returned to Kiyo’s dorm room, it was time to get to work. The stash of supplies from the warehouse was on the bed, and the tea set was laid out on their desk, faint ribbons of steam curling up into the air. Self-care night was in full swing.
Himiko herself was settled on the bed too, watching them sift through the bag of makeup. With this, much like everything else, they were meticulous. Picking something up and putting it down again, humming under their breath, then repeating the whole cycle again, as if planning to paint a priceless canvas rather than just do her makeup for fun.
“You’re so beautiful,” they crooned eventually to break the silence, partway through applying her eyeliner. She couldn’t even look at their expression, only able to imagine the downright hungry grin she’d seen on their face before. She could only sit there, light pressure and cool ink being drawn along her lash line in what she knew would be two perfect wings.
“I think you’re mostly responsible for that. If you weren’t an anthropologist, I bet you could be a makeup artist.”
Korekiyo chuckled, airy and melodic.
“I’m pleased you think so highly of my skills, but that was not what I meant. You’re beautiful both with and without makeup. I’m an artist only insofar as I’m permitted to work on a piece of art like you.” The gentle sensation of the eyeliner pen retreated, and she heard the soft click of them capping it. Able to open her eyes again, she did so, greeted with just the expression she expected. Their cheeks flushed, pupils dilated, and a needy sort of look that was nowhere near as innocent as it ought to be.
“You’re so...” She choked back a wordless sound, heavy with affection and bewilderment. It wasn’t the first time they’d said something like that to her, but she doubted she’d ever get used to it.
They shushed her gently, something that had no right to be attractive, but very much was anyway. It wasn’t a gesture of condescension. No, if anything, she typically felt like the one in control. They protected her, yes, but often played the role of supplicant, eager to give in to her every whim and desire. There was something driving them beyond simple affection and desire, some deep-seated something that she couldn’t yet understand, but she welcomed it.
Bandaged fingers slipped under her chin to tilt her head up slightly, other hand opening a tube of lip gloss. It was a deep berry color, rich and eye-catching. The scent was fruity too, sweet like strawberries. Even as they gently swept the applicator over her lips in tiny, perfect motions, she found herself thinking that it would look lovely on them too, a little different from the shades of crimson they typically favored.
Kiyo must have been thinking the same thing. They paused, frowning thoughtfully after what she knew wasn’t an error. Their hands were too steady to slip, and she would have felt it if they did.
“Ah, my mistake,” they said anyway. “Allow me to fix that.” Rather than reaching for something to wipe away the nonexistent smudge with, or even using their finger, they leaned in and kissed her. As her arms wound around them, lips parting, their tongue darted out to catch a taste, berries and earthy matcha mingling together.
“I think you might need to start over,” she said when the kiss was eventually broken, reaching out to wipe a smear of dark purpley-pink from the corner of their mouth.
“Yes, I suppose I might.”

New Reputation: Taylor Swift shares intel on TS7, fan theories, and her next era
Snakes begone. The 29-year-old superstar is back with a new album and a new outlook on life. We go inside the pop monarch's latest chapter.
THE PALM TREES ARRIVED IN FEBRUARY, seven in all, set against a pastel blue backdrop with superimposed stars. It appeared that a new Taylor Swift era was upon us — that the old happy-go-lucky Taylor was not, in fact, dead. Or did it? It wasonly an Instagram photo, just one more picture in an infinite content scroll. But it also came from a pop star known for prodigious hint-dropping, whose fans turn every piece of info into an online archaeological dig.
As expected, the summery post sent Swifties sifting through each detail with a fine-tooth comb. What did the trees symbolize? An overdue vacation? A recently purchased beach house? A secret palm-frond collection? Or maybe, as many surmised, it was new music. One Twitter user predicted that the number of stars in the background of the photo hinted at a single drop: “There’s about 60/61 [stars]️. There’s 61 days until April 26, FRIDAY, a SINGLE RELEASE day!” Another said it was the unofficial announcement of her next LP: “Okay so in this picture there are 4 palm trees on the left (4 country albums). There are two palm trees on the right (2 pop albums). There is one large palm tree in the middle. This represents her new album.” These may sound like ludicrous conspiracy theories — for the record, they were mostly correct — but they fit firmly within the Taylor Swift Musical Universe (it’s like the Marvel Cinematic Universe but with more guitars and fewer Stan Lee cameos).
“I posted that the day that I finished the seventh album,” says Swift about the photo. “I couldn’t expect [my fans] to know that. I figured they’d figure it out later, but a lot of their theories were actually correct. Those Easter eggs were just trying to establish that tone, which I foreshadowed ages ago in a Spotify vertical video for ‘Delicate’ by painting my nails those [pastel] colors.”
It’s now April, and the 29-year-old pop star is in a Los Angeles photo studio, giving her first sit-down magazine interview in three years. She wants to discuss the art of placing hints inside her work, as well as the upcoming record, which she recorded as soon as she finished the Reputation Tour. She’s also keen on detailing her own obsessions, talking up the TV shows, books, and songs that help shape her outlook on life.
Over the past 13 years, Swift has perfected the pop culture feedback loop: She shares updates about her life and drops hints about new music, which fans then gobble up and re-promote with their own theories, which Swift then re-shares on her Tumblr or incorporates into future clues. It’s like a T-Swift-built Escher staircase of personal memories and moments that tease what’s next. “I’ve trained them to be that way,” she says of her fans’ astute detective work. Swift is a pop culture fanatic herself (see: the jean jacket she’s wearing on the EW cover) and has an innate understanding of the lengths her audience will go to be a part of the original creation. “I love that they like the cryptic hint-dropping. Because as long as they like it, I’ll keep doing it. It’s fun. It feels mischievous and playful.”
Through this approach, Swift has designed the ultimate artistic scavenger hunt — and it’s easy to get swept up in its drama, even if you don’t listen to her music. Her moments aren’t always hidden, either. Sometimes Swift highlights aspects of her world just so fans feel like they’re on the journey with her. Like the time in March 2018 when pop singer Hayley Kiyoko was accused of shading Swift after mentioning her name during an interview. On Tumblr, Swift re-shared a fan’s post, adding commentary that defended Kiyoko, which immediately dispelled any conflicts between the two artists; Swift’s post subsequently received more than 29,000 notes. Four months later, she invited Kiyoko on stage during the Reputation Tour to sing her hit “Curious.” Kiyoko returned the favor when she had Swift join her that December at a benefit on behalf of the LGBTQ organization the Ally Coalition to perform “Delicate.” Fans of both artists were elated by the mutual support.
The feedback loop also extends outside of music. In October 2018, Swift broke her silence about politics by publicly endorsing two candidates for office in her adopted state of Tennessee, while encouraging her followers to register to vote. She kept up the civic momentum through Election Day when she asked fans to post selfies after voting; Swift then eagerly re-promoted her favorites on Instagram stories.
This practice of sharing and re-sharing and sharing again is why listeners consider Swift one of the world’s most accessible pop stars, someone willing to not only interact with her audience but invite them to secret listening sessions, or make the occasional surprise visit to their wedding or prom. It’s a symbiotic relationship, one that, as Swift tells EW, helped her dig out of the darker era of reputation. “It’s definitely the fans that made that tonal shift in the way I was feeling,” she says. “Songwriters need to communicate, and part of communicating correctly is when you put out a message that is understood the way you meant it. reputation was interesting because I’d never before had an album that wasn’t fully understood until it was seen live. When it first came out everyone thought it was just going to be angry; upon listening to the whole thing they realized it’s actually about love and friendship, and finding out what your priorities are.”
Then, during the Reputation Tour, she had an epiphany: that despite the caricature that she thought had been created of her, there were many people who saw what others had simply refused to. “I would look out into the audience and I’d see these amazing, thoughtful, caring, wonderful, empathetic people,” she says. “So often with our takedown culture, talking s— about a celebrity is basically the same as talking s— about the new iPhone. So when I go and I meet fans, I see that they actually see me as a flesh-and-blood human being. That — as contrived as it may sound — changed [me] completely, assigning humanity to my life.”
At tour’s end, she channeled that positive energy into the studio, recording the new album in just under three months. But the fast pace won’t mean a short LP. Swift confirmed that her seventh record (she hasn’t announced a title yet; the working nickname among fans is TS7) will include more songs than any of her previous releases. “I try not to go into making an album with any expectation,” she says. “I started to write so much that I knew immediately it would probably be bigger.”
The project will also feature a mix of old and new collaborators (on the candy-coated lead single “ME!” Swift brought in Panic! At the Disco frontman Brendon Urie and coproducer Joel Little, both of whom she had never worked with), but she is unsurprisingly coy about doling out much more information, as if doing so would break the carefully honed T-Swiftian feedback loop. “There’s a lot of a lot on this album,” she says. “I’m trying to convey an emotional spectrum. I definitely don’t wanna have too much of one thing…. You get some joyful songs and you get the bops, as they say.” There’s also, she adds, some “really, really, really, really sad songs,” but “not enough to where you need to worry about me.”
She gives us one more clue: The true distinction between TS7 and reputation is in the delivery. “This time around I feel more comfortable being brave enough to be vulnerable, because my fans are brave enough to be vulnerable with me. Once people delve into the album, it’ll become pretty clear that that’s more of the fingerprint of this — that it’s much more of a singer-songwriter, personal journey than the last one.”
The past month has seen a deluge of Swift activity, from the release of the new single to dropping more hints in interviews about the record and its title, which is apparently hidden somewhere inside the “ME!” music video (current fan guesses include Kaleidoscope and Daisy). But if the Easter eggs from the pop star seem like a business-as-usual routine, she says this album does indeed mark a new era of her life, where she’s been better able to prioritize what’s important to her.
“Our priorities can get messed up existing in a society that puts a currency on curating the way people see your life,” she says. “Social media has given people a way to express their art. I use it to connect with fans. But on the downside you feel like there are 3 trillion new invisible hoops that you have to jump through, and you feel like you’ll never be able to jump through them all correctly. I — along with a lot of my friends and fans — am trying to figure out how to navigate living my life and not just curating what I want people to think living my life is. I’m not always able to maintain a balance, and I think that’s important for everyone to know about. We’re always learning, and that’s something that I also had to learn — that I’ve got to be brave enough to learn. Learning in public is so humiliating sometimes…. Do I feel more balanced in my life than I ever have before? Um, probably yeah. But is that permanent? No. And I think being okay with that has put me in a bit of a better position.” Strong words to live by, to quote, to re-share, to tweet back to her, and see if she’ll respond.

Aaand here’s the final version of the piece I posted yeasterday. It’s also a remake of the idea that I started this whole ordeal with. At that point I was just doodling away and seeing what comes out, but I soon realized that I really need some sort of plan on what sort of images I really need to get this thing actually done. And now I have them all finished! All I need to do is to actually write the dang info sheet and post it online.
Also if someone is afraid that it’ll get me as many tries to get the possible commissions done as it has taken me to nail down these examples, I assure you that won’t be the case. The exact reason of why I spent so much time redoing these is that I wanted to set a solid foundation for the whole project as well as show for myself where my current boundaries are. I was constantly underestimating how much time drawing something takes, but now that I’ve hit my head against the wall of “no, that’s way too many details for the given time” enough times, I should be able to predict the time pretty accurately. And hey, if I still after all this grossly underestimate the time it takes to complete your commission that’s on me, I’m not charging anyone of my own mistakes!

New Reputation: Taylor Swift shares intel on TS7, fan theories, and her next era
By: Alex Suskind for Entertainment Weekly Date: May 9th 2019
Snakes begone. The 29-year-old superstar is back with a new album and a new outlook on life. We go inside the pop monarch's latest chapter.
THE PALM TREES ARRIVED IN FEBRUARY, seven in all, set against a pastel blue backdrop with superimposed stars. It appeared that a new Taylor Swift era was upon us — that the old happy-go-lucky Taylor was not, in fact, dead. Or did it? It was only an Instagram photo, just one more picture in an infinite content scroll.
What got you into Star Wars?
When a certain Adam Driver revealed his beautiful face in The Force Awakens 😍 helloo handsome
What made you a Reylo? Lightbulb moment!
"You're not alone." "Neither are you."
I think I told Luke to piss off and let them kiss!
Why do you write / make art?
Because why not?! I write when I have that little niggling idea that just won't go away.
The Object of your Thirst…
Oh so many but if we're sticking to the Star Wars it's got to be the beautiful Adam Driver and my favourite ginger Domhnall Gleeson
Which Adam look do you like the best?
Unwrapped and bare chested 🤤😍
Which Adam avatar/ role do you like the best?
Flip Zimmerman, I think my stomach literally flipped (pun intended 😏) when Adam wheeled around on that chair 💦💦
Which part of Adam do you like the best?
A part? How can you only pick one part.
Favorite Star Wars Movie
Probably The Force Awakens, it was the film that made me watch the others in preparation, although Rogue one is a close second.
What do you like to write / draw / paint the most?
Don't judge me but I love writing angst obviously with a well earned happy ending. This is what I want to write as I've made a promise to myself to focus on what I enjoy reading/writing and not worry about others' opinions.
**Eyes the dark Evil Rey idea that won't leave me alone recently**
We'll get to you soon.
(HS: Dooo eeeet!)
Your TRoS Prediction
They all live happily ever after... Hux included 🤞❤️ no I know that may be too optimistic but I do hope we get Bendemption 😍
If you were an aesthetic... (colors, images, feels....)
Red and black are my favourite colour combination, although I adore autumn colours too🍁🧡
What's your ideal environment for writing / creating?
Silence 😂 seriously I am so easily distracted that I need solitary confinement 😅 which may be why I sometimes struggle to finish fics.
Are you a dom or sub?
Switch baby! 🤘 For the perfect partner I'll be whatever they need 😏
What's the most exotic/wierd place you've gotten intimate?
I've spent most of my life at yards, I'm not going to miss the opportunity to roll about the straw barn, now am I? 🙊
What's your kink?
Who doesn't love a good Dom but on the flip who doesn't love a well-behaved sub? 🤷 I'm easily pleased.
Use three words to describe yourself
Loyal, kind (I hope I come across as such) and argumentative sometimes because I can fall out with myself if I'm that way inclined 😂
Meaning behind your nick / ID name
Well it's my name and I wasn't feeling imaginative 😅
Are you a big spoon or little spoon?
I'm a don't touch me while a sleep spoon, solitary spoon 😘
Do you like it rough or soft?
See if you pick one, you lose out on the other. I'm too greedy for that.
Favorite fic you read
Unexpected by pontmercy44. The first star wars fandom fic I ever read that introduced me into this world, I guess.
Favorite fic you wrote or favorite art you made
Decades to Fall for Sunshineflying. A reyux fic (don't shoot the multishipper!) That I just loved writing and wish that every fic was that easy to create. 😍❤️
Favorite SW character besides Kylo and Rey
Oh well this is so hard for me umm 🤔 maybe that ginger General of First Order... I struggle to remember his name 😘 love me some Hux
______
Taz
(Tumblr: @tazwren | Twitter: WrenTaz | Ao3: TazWren & TrashcanWren)
What got you into Star Wars?
Literally, a lightsaber being stuck into my hand, at 7yrs, and being asked to be Vader to my cousin’s Luke Skywalker. I’d never heard of SW till that moment, and I fell headfirst into the Dark Side and in love with the galaxy far, far away! Its been the one franchise that as been a constant for me, the whole time growing up, and I’ve loved having something SW to look forward to every few years. SW and Reylo lifer! 😁😁😎😎
What made you a Reylo? Lightbulb moment!
“You are not alone.” The minute Kylo/Ben said those words, I was gone for Reylo. No true villain would give a flying fuck about his so-called adversary’s mental and emotional health. When their hands touched? I screeched in that theatre! And I may have yelled at Luke as well. Walked out and hunted for Kylo/Rey fanfics and the rest was history!
Why do you write / make art?
I do because the stories show up and make it impossible for me to do anything else but tell them. They buzz and breed and drown out all other sounds, like manic mosquitoes. They can be quite a nuisance that way, but... *throws up hands* ... I gots to do what they tell me to do! 😆
The Object of your Thirst…
Uh, do I even need to answer this? Adam Douglas Driver, Mr.Sensitive-on-a-stick, BDE Boss hisself 😎😏
Once I discovered him, all others ceased to exist for me. (Hugh, who? Chris, what?)
Which Adam look do you like the best?
I like Adam every which way, but my favorites are with facial scruff and slightly shaggy hair - Phillip Altman meets Ben Swolo. Oooh, anytime he is a sweater (or half out of one!) or with his shirtsleeves rolled up. So, um, yeah... 😁
Which Adam avatar/ role do you like the best?
Philip Altman is BAE - he always lightens my heart. And Ben Solo? He owns the frickin’ thing. So yeah, anyone who knows me, knows one ain’t enough 😏
Which part of Adam do you like the best?
His face - it’s so emotive and expressive! His eyes, those lips, that smile that launches a gazillion ships. His hands, his strong-ass arms. That glorious mane of hair. Have I mentioned them tiddies and the tree-trunk thighs?! Oh, and when he flexes his back, and...
Uh... let’s just say, everything Adam?
Favorite Star Wars Movie
The Last Jedi was the most beautifully written and shot movie in the entire franchise, with a depth of characterization and exploration of symbolism that was brilliant. This will always rate as the best for me. A close second, and one I will always love, is Empire Strikes Back. That was quintessential Star Wars and an amazingly good watch - snark, action, angst, love, betrayal, rescue, OMFG!
What do you like to write / draw / paint the most?
Until I started writing Reylo, I’d never been able to write fiction. I could never visualize the stories. And once I started, I haven’t been able to stop! I’ll write anything Reylo, I’ll try writing anything at least once (so, yeah, there may be dark fic as well one day!). My style defaults to either mildly angsty, or humour-laced fluff, or depraved smut. So, not sure what that says about me 😂
Your TRoS Prediction
Bendemption. Reylo. *mic drop*
If you were an aesthetic... (colors, images, feels....)
Blacks, Reds, Greys, slashes of bright turquoise and white and ochre. Blue and white-striped awnings shading an alfresco cafe, overlooking a green ocean. Bright, city lights, reds and yellows glinting off the black water of a bay. A busy airport, with the scents of perfume from Duty-Free as you zoom past it.
If you were a candy bar, what would your name be?
The Ever-lasting Gobstopper 😂
What's your ideal environment for writing / creating?
In a hotel room, on my own. In the back of cab, in the window-seat of an airplane. At my desk, looking out through the window as the breeze blows through the trees, and the Burn This playlist keeps going on repeat.
Are you a dom or sub?
Both? Both is good.
What's the most exotic/wierd place you've gotten intimate?
On the back of a bike, in the middle of the night, stopped at a traffic intersection.
What's your kink?
Size. Hands. Humour. Fidelity, and yet threesomes (go figure, I’m depraved). Mild Dom. Intelligence and thoughtfulness. Hair. Fuck it, Adam.
Use three words to describe yourself
Loyal, funny, organized-chaos (its a thing, trust me!)
Meaning behind your nick / ID name
I’ve always had Taz as a nickname, for the Warner Bros Tasmanian Devil (yes, I’ve been known to be exactly like that! 😂). Wren is a nod to Kylo Ren, and the fact that one of the earliest fanfics I read had Rey naming her son ‘Wren’ as a backhanded pointer to Kylo! So I’m, Taz, a Knight of Ren.
Are you a big spoon or little spoon?
I can be both, till I fall asleep. Then, pls leave me tf alone 😬😁
Do you like it rough or soft?
Both - why choose?!
Favorite fic you read
There are so very many in this amazing fandom! The one that I’ve loved from the beginning, though, is The Art of Broken Pieces - a beautifully written Bendemption fic.
Favorite fic you wrote or favorite art you made
God, this is hard! My recent favorites are Brooklyn Bridge Blues, Caught Between Beats, and A Taste For Two - I like that I’m able to explore a variety of stories and emotions through them. I’m most proud of Confidences To A Stranger because I was able to explore a storytelling medium that I hadn’t before.
Favorite SW character besides Kylo and Rey
Padme Amidala - she reminds me of my mother and grandmother, both of whom were strong women, who got shit done, while always taking care of their people. She was a queen in more than just name. Han Solo - I am weak for a scoundrel/villain/bad boy in a leather jacket, with a hardass, snarky exterior that hides a heart of gold. The reluctant hero.💙

New Reputation: Taylor Swift shares intel on TS7, fan theories, and her next era
Snakes begone. The 29-year-old superstar is back with a new album and a new outlook on life. We go inside the pop monarch's latest chapter.
Alex Suskind

Peggy Sirota for EW
THE PALM TREES ARRIVED IN FEBRUARY, seven in all, set against a pastel blue backdrop with superimposed stars. It appeared that a new Taylor Swift era was upon us — that the old happy-go-lucky Taylor was not, in fact, dead. Or did it? It was only an Instagram photo, just one more picture in an infinite content scroll.

New Reputation: Taylor Swift shares intel on TS7, fan theories, and her next era
Why you should check out summer 2019 anime despite my previous blog post
Tumblr media
I was mostly wrong about this season here’s qb’s revised
Hype rankings for Summer 2019
Cop Craft (Funimation)
COP CRAFT DRAGNET MIRAGE RELOADED is the biggest surprise of the season for me. Coming from Millepensee, the studio and director team known for such Art as Teekyuu seasons 4-9 and Berserk 2016, this extremely sincere and wildly stupid Americanized take on anime fantasy adventure colliding with a hard-boiled cop drama is surprisingly highly enjoyable to watch for both intended and unintended reasons.
Tumblr media
The intended appeal of COP CRAFT DRAGNET MIRAGE RELOADED hinges on a well-realized mashup of genres from a long running novel series, the buddy-cop teamup of an anime girl with a magical sword and a gruff but kind-hearted cop, and the dramatic thrill of one of the weirder spinoffs of law&order. The show promises an interesting setting where a magical portal ring to the fairy forest where anime-chans are real has naturally slotted into the organized crime of a New Yorkish city, resulting in a fresh take on well-trodden ground, and it actually kind of succeeds at this. In practice, watching loose cannon cops shoot guns at wizards while busting a drug ring who sling fairy dust is maybe the dumbest thing I’ve seen in years, but the story is so overly detailed, thought out, and delivered without an ounce of irony, unlike the recent terrible movie from Netflix that also attempted to do this premise almost word for word, that it wraps around to legitimately compelling. It also helps that this anime adaptation is being scripted by the novel’s author.
Tumblr media
The unintended benefit of watching COP CRAFT DRAGNET MIRAGE RELOADED is partly how completely absurd the words they are saying appear in English, producing some of the funniest out of context screenshots imaginable, the animation in execution ratchets between cool, frenetic action that contains distinct shades of a certain tennis club, and the hysterically awful cg that you’ve come to expect and love from the only team capable of producing Berserk 2016. When it’s good, its good, and when it’s bad, it’s incredible.
Tumblr media
In short, COP CRAFT DRAGNET MIRAGE RELOADED is a two-for-one deal of the best of both bad and good anime. It’s also getting an English dub by Funimation and I can’t even imagine how good literally any line read from that will be.
Tumblr media
The Demon Girl Next Door (Hidive, VRV)
Despite my earlier protests, this is actually totally fine, good even. It avoids the fanservice problem I predicted completely and instead sets a relaxed comedic tone that quietly highlights small gags in a way that feels natural, which sounds impossible but they found the only director who could pull it off (Hiroaki Sakurai, known for some quite good comedies like Cromartie High School and Majokko Tsukune-chan). The content is actually pretty funny when delivered in a non-hyperactive way, since a story about a girl who is bullied into making friends after her family circumstances tell her to murderize a magical girl, told naturally, hits that level of low surrealism that works. Her friends also take this in stride, encouraging her to use this as an opportunity to go out more, open up socially, and suffer for their amusement. The magical girl in question, after heroically saving Yuko from being run over by a truck, also encourages her to defeat her and drain all of her blood, because Shadow Mistress Yuko is so much of a non-threat that Momo takes advantage of their impending ultimate confrontation to trick her into being her gym buddy. It takes place in a post-season magical girl anime landscape where the world has already been saved, normal people are used to weird episodic junk, and hitting demon puberty just another thing your friends will tease you over.
Tumblr media
It still probably shouldn’t be full episode length, but it actually does something with that length, and is definitely the least painful iteration of this kind of slower, long-form comedy that you don’t usually see in anime because it’s usually a terrible idea. Predicting this would end up like other entries in the incredibly cursed magical girl parody genre was a safe bet, but this anime is the rare exception and it’s actually worth checking out.
Tumblr media
Given (Crunchyroll, VRV) is on the noitamina block and it’s about boys in a rock band who might become more than friends. You’ve probably tuned out at this point and you’d be right because you know exactly the tone and style of this from that description but it’s executed well and written well and directed okay, so if you’d like this sort of thing try it out. There’s an interesting range of ages (the band has members in high school, college, and graduate school), a fun sense of humor, and the music is a standout in a season that has Carole and Tuesday in it, so that’s something.
Tumblr media
I forgot to mention Fruits Basket (Crunchyroll, VRV, Funimation) in my last post because i didn’t know it was continuing. It’s hitting its “stride” in being massively depressing so check that out still. It’s tragic and great.
Tumblr media
Granbelm (Crunchyroll, VRV) is a magical girl show I watched on a whim and turns out it’s actually a magical mecha battle royale. The color scheme is overly bright and the mechs look squashed, but it has girls snarling and yelling their heads off summoning beam swords so it’s different from what I expected. It’s got a G-Gundam energy with the multiregional cast and how the mecha fights are playing out, so if you’re fans of that, and magical girl, this is both at once. The second episode introduced a unique motivation for the main character, that piloting the mech helped her get over crushing nihilism, and I want to see where that goes, if at all. Combining the sometimes bleak and fun-sucking writing of overly dark and philosophical magical girl with what I can only describe as Domon Kasshu energy is a choice and I would like to see where Granbelm is going with that.
Misc variable hype list
Tumblr media
O Maidens in Your Savage Season (Hidive)
This looks gorgeous and it may be the most Mari Okada thing ever written, move over Dragon Pilot, but the manga has some uncomfortable elements that would translate poorly to anime, in terms of keeping me watching it.
Crunchyroll actually did pick up Symphogear AXZ and XV, against my pessimistic attitude.
Ensemble Stars (Funimation) is okay.
Fire Force’s animation is fire af but the girl who lives in her own hellish fanservice series is about to be introduced and this part of the series is kind of slow so it would take a lot of effort to elevate the material until it gets to the “good stuff”. David production seems willing to give it their best shot though, so we’ll see.
Vinland Saga started slow, quiet, chronological and ultimately strong, but it took multiple episodes to get there, which is why they aired 3 episodes in the first week. I think I still prefer the high octane opening chapter of the manga, but they’ll get there soon enough so it’ll be a non-issue in a few months anyway. I recommended this before and I still do. WIT studio is clearly playing for the longer game, setting themes that encompass the whole series first rather than the fleeting themes of watch the bad ass viking slice the mans, but it is currently missing the energy people associated with that opening volume or two. It will probably pay off though.

New Reputation: Taylor Swift shares intel on TS7, fan theories, and her next era
Snakes begone. The 29-year-old superstar is back with a new album and a new outlook on life. We go inside the pop monarch's latest chapter.
By Alex Suskind May 09, 2019
THE PALM TREES ARRIVED IN FEBRUARY, seven in all, set against a pastel blue backdrop with superimposed stars. February 2 2019
Mrs. Gold, I definitely improved a lot with colour usage here.
Tumblr media
February 1 2018
This is where I have truly tried too hard on colours but I'm really warming up to it. (Oh nu is my icon that old- i'll get a new one soon I promise)
Tumblr media
Please just take a moment, if you're someone who is an artist and is on a journey, to compare this piece with some of the earlier ones in this post. This improvement wasn't completely random. It started with looking for stylistic changes in the way I drew- in my case, really exaggerating the flowiness of my strokes and sharp points (messing around with a grittier brush, helped me a lot too, if you're someone who sticks with soft brushes or mechanical pencils, I couldn't recommend trying to use a textured brush or irl charcoal to get a grasp on the type of mood you want to evoke). At some stage it became a love story with color too, but colour takes time and lots of adjustment, which is why you won't see much of it in my blog.
March 5 2018
This is where I really start pushing the exaggeration on Mr. G, but only to get a feel for him. He evolved from a chunky nosed, physically imposing figure with a laughable quantity of gold, to something more desperate and dependant on money, something lean and mean with a nose that could poke an eye out. And here, most prominent is the shape of his lips, which had grown more prominent than before and very good for emphasizing his frown (and hell to work with when trying for his dimpled smile).
Tumblr media
March 11 2018
I drew this for an rp starter since words couldn't describe what was in my head. I think it's a fine example of my adoration for patterns- but not just patterns, the idea of luxury beyond compare. It's prominent in my blog but only because I have the brain of a magpie and am constantly like ‘ooo shiny’. But really, I drew what I liked, so I improved. Find something you like drawing if you haven't yet. It can be skulls, it can be leaves, feathers, find your motifs and everything will honestly follow along.

Post exam-hiatus, I am back with the gang, my art style is a bit rusty but boy have I got intimately involved with colours.
Tumblr media
May 22 2018
I can't get colours out of my head, I'm thinking about them day and night, I need to create, I need to and so I do. (In all honesty I am certain that something greatly inspired me to do this but I cannot recall what).
Tumblr media
June 12 2018
The Kill Cindy 2k18 movement is born. I can finally show you the Mr. G I have been hiding from you all.
Tumblr media
July 1 2018
Something I can point out now is that while I think my colours work (honestly i was making use of patterns to distract you all at this stage- before I returned from my hiatus, I'd been rejected in an interview for an animation course and the key point my interviewer made was that my sense of colour was jarring, so I really was sensitive over it but seeking out improvement), what I would change is that adding a clear light source and allowing an atmosphere (by adjusting the main figures’ hues slightly to match the background) to emerge in my art would make it a lot better. And I start to grasp at this knowledge.
Tumblr media
August 19 2018
The start of the bodyswap event, I swear I'll get back to it. I just want to use it as a stepping stone to get some meaningful character development out of it, thus it's ongoing.
Tumblr media
See here, this is where I just stop caring about skin and character colour as something that should more or less be constant. Now it's vibrant and blinding for no other reason than I want to make you feel (granted, I did that too much here and it makes things hard to understand much less appreciate).
September 8 2018
Here I'm really just feeling the colours, Shiv's home is easy- everything is luxurious but at once welcoming (or at the very least, pampering), Sridevi's home on the other hand was shown to be neater and almost less personal, there isn't much immersion allowed in her place but in Shiv's..oh man.
Tumblr media
November 2018
As you can see, activity has been dwindling what with rigorous college days and having moved to a new city. It should pick up eventually, but let me close this off with some new art.
Tumblr media
Do I have something to say about this piece? Yes, I do! The point of view is Shiv's, thus the warm colours and the way he blends into the background. The main figure here is not himself or his 2nd player, but the vibrant peacocks, that exist in a shade of blue too vibrant to be real. In between the two sentient figures, is our young Mr. Gold, clearly he has the favour of these birds but he doesn't seem very affected by them- unlike the jealous Shiv. He's the dullest colour present and he wears the blandest clothing, the matters of peacocks (be they blue or orange) do not apply to him and he is at once alienated.
Today, November 14th 2018
Tumblr media
So after everything, here we are. Is this what all my art was moving towards? No it isn't, it's really just me playing around with photoshop brushes, but the mood of this image is something I feel that I've conveyed with integrity. That's what I want to keep striving for. Thank you all for staying with this blog as long as you have, thank you to all my newer followers, I've linked most of these points to their original posts, I hope that Tumblr does not break them. Love you all!

Who are they???
So, I’m going to do a little thing. Where I’m going to give a code name to people in my life with a brief description, so in 20 years I know who the fuck was referring to with these weird ass names....
Artson: A dude, with curly short hair, glasses, & professional art skills, he’s about 30 something, I think. Dice, dice, dice. Really nice, a cool dude. Pretty much art senpai.
Eyebrow/Crush-kun: A short guy, 24, His voice is kinda high for a dude. Generally friendly, acts a bit off, might just be at me, though. Plays in some sort of band, in which he wears a kilt. *fan flutter* Everyone act’s as if he’s super Irish, other that the kilt thing, I don’t really see it. His hair seems to change color just enough to be notable to me, i don’t know if it the lighting, or it changes 3 shades when it dirty.
Bird-san: Looks like your typical neckbeard, but lacking BO & fedora. Actually a really nice dude. His personally is a bit hard to describe, but it’s like soft.
Elfy: Tall, Tall, tall. By the gods this dude is like 6’5”-6’7”. Nice dude, 30-something, a professor at my state university. Dark brown hair, kinda fat, blue eyes I think, he’s got an earring, an some pretty good fashion scents. Really pretty wife, who’s studying out of state.
Law-biter: Honestly a bit off, not in a good way, but also not in a serial killer way. He’s 29, dark hair/eyes, glasses, tall, & and pudgy. Dudes a lawyer, for like big business type shit.
Lego: Silly dude. Uses legos as minis. Goofy af. Puns, puns, puns. Kinda tall, a mid tone skin complexion, with dark hair and eyes.
Nymph: Is a super sweet, bubbly, girl, about a year or two younger than me. On her way to becoming a great vet. With pretty blue eyes & really long light brown hair, that she often has braided elements in.
Queen:  She a bit on the heavy side, but not in an ugly way, with shoulder length dyed blond hair, and gorgeous blue eyes. A strong personality, But nice. Is running a pod cast I’m going to be in. Dwell in the negative a lot, but that’s not my problem.
Ranger: Queen’s EX, Now dating Nymph. Pretty good dude. Used to have long hair, short now, but ah. Kinda got that suffer dude/stoner personally. Just a really nice dude.
Shaggy/Shag: Form my hometown, went off to college in a different state, visits from time to time, plays at the nerd shop. Cute af, looks like Saggy, not super fit, shoulder length brown hair, pretty blue eyes, a little fussy, chin goatee. Studying theater, like bro, his life whateves. Kinda silly, in a really good way. DND master.
Teach: A teacher at one of the local high schools, good dude, taught in Kenya for a while, from the state with magic whether predicting groundhog. Not tall, 30-ish, works out as a hobby ie muscles, blue eyes, glasses. Friendly, not stuck up, down to earth, a’l around a cool dude. Currently DM-ing, a campaign, from the last I heard.
THE Great GM/The GM: Average height, bald, some subbles, light grey hair, on the heavy side. Really cool dude, such nice, Really good DM/GM.
Tuck: Average to short height, a tanner complexion, short brown hair, as well as brown eyes, a very distinct voice.  Friendly, pretty cool all round guy. Defies all expectation.
Sweety Blank/Sweety: Queen’s bests friend. Pretty nice, a bit absent minded during D&d night, but eh… out long Dark hair, light skin, hazel eyes. Vary out going.
Commando Wait What/Commando: Sweety’s Ex. I saw him a few times in November, before he left for military training. Nondescript really just a nether dude at dnd, but Gossip says he’s really shity, like borderline sociopathic, Plus a murderhobo. I haven’t seen any of his drama, yet, but a lot of people really don’t what to associate with him, so like. He’s, probs leaving again soon.
Lash-master/Lash: muscular heavy set, ashy brown hair, blue eyes. A nether DM, pretty cool person.
PBNJ: tall-ish, light brown hair, light skin, blue eyes, heavy set, glasses. Nice, reminds me of my little brother, but nicer.
Paint Master: heavy set guy, in his late 40s, blue eyes, brown hair, bread, really nice, and amazing miniatures painter.
Paint Guy: Paint jam teacher, cool dude don’t know him that well.
Nergal: tan skin, dark hair and eyes, plays Nergals, really nice, distinct voice.
I’m going to update this later.
