I pretty much always had a strawberry shortcake coloring book in front of the tv waiting for the shows I actually cared about so I could ask my mom to tape them for me :3 I thought Two Brains was so so funny and I was also a cheese menace so I could relate 🤝🤝🤝🧀🧀🧀 I STILL AM 💖💖

(back in the early 2000s my mom used to record things for me on vhs tapes in a way that didn’t record any of the commercials. I wasn’t allowed to watch commercials until I was much older. Looking back, that was a god tier parenting move.)

so the 'Qimir/the Stranger is actually [ insert high republic character here ]' theories have started to escalate, Imri was one thing, today I saw someone suggest the Stranger is Cohmac and I laughed out loud.

But also sure. The Stranger is Cohmac. XD Why tf not. Except for all the, you know, 'humans don't live that long' and 'their descriptions and official character art do not match Manny Jacinto at all' 'it doesn't actually make sense' but people keep countering that with 'energy transfer' so I guess Qimir really could be anybody.

Kaito trying really really hard to put his protectiveness aside giving miu some growing room by distracting himself with dating and hanging out with people he barely is able to tolerate due to his experience in the other world, wince dating and making friends is what normal highschoolers do.

Miu developing very /very/ messy feelings regarding Kaito seemingly having no more time for her, while at the same time pushing him away when he does since that's just how their dynamic has always been as siblings and she wants him to feel like everything is fine with her, get really mad at girls he brings to the house, her even worse ability to relate to other people her age. . Also gender stuff unrelated to the main plot.

Takuma and Ryo being the only still decently well adjusted ones.

Shuuji developing a bad rebellious streak due to his father treating lopmon like a stray animal at the best of times.

Saki having anxiety since, now that she's improving in her physical self she has to prepare for rhe future.

Aoi being a mess with the fact their group is starting to drift apart due to their own issues and worrying she won't have anyone that really /gets/ her if they do stop talking together.

The concept of Kaito trying too hard to be a "normal" kid as a distraction from Miu even though he's clearly bad at it and doesn't like doing it is honestly really interesting. It's almost funny in a fish out of water way, but also really sad thinking about him being stuck with nothing but fake friends after having spent time with real friends.

Pretty much everything you said about Miu is like,,,exactly how I imagined she'd act post game? Like yeah Kaito being clingy annoyed her, but that doesn't mean she wants him to never be with her. Not having friends her age AND having this new distance between her and someone she's used to having around a lot would be really isolating and tough. I actually talked a little about this one before. Lowkey love that pretty much everyone seems to agree that this kid has gender stuff going on.

I actually imagine Ryo would have a similar problem to Aoi. He went to camp to make friends because people at his school already didn't like him, so drifting apart from the friends he DID make would be hard for him since they're all he has. Well, other than Kunemon.

Takuma probably would be the most relatively well-adjusted person here but he is still a kid trying to pretend life is normal after having to save the world so ladfkjakj idk maybe as former team leader he'd be a little adverse to taking responsibility for things for a while. Y'know like having trouble finding ordinary things in his life important compared to saving the universe. I think I accidentally just described ant man quantumania never mind ignore me.

Shuuji WOULD have a rebellious phase. He didn't go through an entire self-acceptance arc to watch the other half of his soul be mistreated ToT It'd probably be a bit awkward tbh tho like sunk cost fallacy is real and I don't think he'd want to throw away everything he's worked for academically when he's this close? I actually. Really really love that idea for Saki. Her being someone who didn't plan about the future before because she didn't know if she'd even have one now realizing that Life is Happening and she doesn't know what she's doing. Obviously she's still young but tbh can confirm that at any age it's extremely stressful when everyone seems to know what they want and where they're going but you.

What is a squad mom without her squad ToT It probably would be jarring for Aoi going back to school with classmates that just take advantage of her after having friends who truly appreciated her. Being unable to feel the same way about her old "friends" anymore.

Honestly I think they would all be afraid of drifting apart. In a lot of ways, most of them are each other's first true friends who care about them and not just for the masks they wear or the help they can give. None of them WANT to move on from each other, they just don't have the time, and most of them don't go to school together. ...Digimon Tri Joe moment. Joement.

Shadow nods slowly, eyeing the pillow Amy stashed the book behind. "What… is… your black book?

Amy looks away from him then as she fiddles with the hem of her apron.

Ah, he's made a mistake.

"You don't have to tell me."

"Nonono, it's fine!" Amy's gaze snaps back to his as she flails her hands. "I just, um, I don't usually-"

She bites her lip. Shadow takes a deep breath as he turns to focus on the plate of scones instead and takes one, holding it up as he inspects it.

It's odd, he won't deny that. Perhaps he's biased, though. It's not as if he's seen many flowers baked into sweets.

"You don't have to eat it if you don't want to," Amy mumbles.

"I want to."

"Well then put some of the marmalade on it. It'll taste better. Or the clotted creme, I guess."

"Did you make the marmalade also?"

He can hear the smile in Amy's voice as she hums, and he takes the spoon from the marmalade jar to smear its contents across the scone.

"My black book is a collection of notes and things," Amy says quietly. "Recipes. Spells. I had it out because I was looking over what went well with lavender."

Shadow pauses at that. When he turns to face her, he is greeted with a careful expression and watchful eyes.

He says nothing. He figures that is the smartest thing to do, and after a moment, she continues.

"Lavender is often used for sleep, or prophetic dreams, but I didn't want to focus on those attributes. I wanted to focus on something else, so I figured the best way to do that was to couple it with a fruit that had the intentions I wanted."

Shadow's brow furrows. "Fruit has intentions?"

Amy shrugs. "I don't know how else to put it. Like, connotation versus denotation of a word, you know?" She picks up the jar and holds it against the plate of scones. "Like, oranges are rich in vitamins and nutrients and water, right? That's the denotation. But the connotation is, like, creativity, passion, love. You get it?"

I'm sorry if this is a too deep question out of nowhere, but on your HCs, how do you think the curses (and mahito especially) perceive gender? Mahito uses masculine pronouns in canon, but do you think he identifies with a specific gender? Is agender? Is interested in studying the importance we humans give to it, or thinks it's too stupid and unecessary? Does he comprehend certain prejudices that humans have due to gender ideas? I was also going to include asking about sexuality too, but I think this is already a pretty big ask </3 have a good day S2

With curses in general I think the context matters - as in, the type of curse they are. Say a curse exists that was born from the suffering women have endured, I feel like that curse would be more attached to the associated gender because its existence and nature surrounds that gender specifically. Whether that curse has the sentience or care to identify as said gender is another thing to consider. How a curse presents itself could be directly related to that gender its nature is associated with, or it could be a more ambiguous thing that covets aspects of the specific gender despite being something more akin to agender.

I think it comes down to the nature of the curse (why the curse was born to begin with) + the level of sentience of the curse (if it possesses the awareness to care about gender). I think a curse lacking sentience/awareness that identifies as a gender is likely echoing its nature without consideration - like a ghost looping in the place it died. Curses seem to echo "gibberish" about what made them or is related to their birth.

By default I lean towards the 'no' zone of curses perceiving gender to the degree humans do. While gender can be important to the type of curse it is, gender doesn't actually serve a purpose beyond that to them. It's entirely a human construct in terms of identification. Gender serves a reproductive purpose, sure, but how many curses are out there making babies? I ask that because curses, as we know them, lean more into negative and destructive habits than positive and creation based ones.

The context of a curse is what can give them a gender association, but a curse possessing sentience to some degree is what can define their perception on gender - if they even have one.

With Mahito I think he understands humans value gender perception. I don't think he personally cares deeply on the matter himself in terms of identification, but he likes the way the male form feels more-so than the female form. From the angle I write him from, I feel like he's agender but likes to be masculine presenting in body to a degree.

(Side note: I have a running theory way off to the side on the fact he was more masc leaning because human hatred, fear and betrayal in history has been more knowingly caused by men and patriarchies. That's not me saying women haven't done shit things in history, mind you, since Mahito isn't really bound to any one gender doing one. But predominantly in history, regardless of country even, we see male leaders of nations or clans being the ones to decide the fates of others. Betraying their people, enslavement, forcing their people into war, murdering for their own gain or enjoyment, etc. and the greater documentation we have of it regarding men over women.

It made me think that maybe Mahito's development into a masc leaning build was influenced by that. But he also keeps his features feminine leaning because plenty of women in history have also done wrong. Both in the past and present day - whatever the span of energy was that built up enough to make him. Or remake him (again and again).

It's a very tentative thing I'm considering because obviously it Doesn't Sound Great on paper. But Mahito is a little bit of a scholar of sorts, between human psychology, philosophy and (in my opinion) having some manner of interest in history - I can see him kind of playing with this angle because it could feel right to him to embody aspects of what birthed him. Presenting as a feminine man also is its own topic that inspires stupid amounts of hatred in people. Seeing as Mahito likes to make people upset, uncomfortable, etc. I can also see him forming his body based on that.

And while I know a person's art style is liable to change here and there and what not - I find it fun to think that Mahito is just shapeshifting himself a little here and there. Thins his muscles, gets a little leaner now and then, sometimes gets more bulky. Adjusts depending on his wants or if he thinks it's necessary to.

Anyways, these thoughts in here are just tentative ones I'm musing on because I'm trying to factor in the things that birthed him and how they've played a role in humanity. So take this section in parenthesis with a grain of salt for now.)

Back to your inquiry, I think he'd be interested to learn how humans perceive it and what the fuss is all about. The subject of gender in the modern era sparks a lot of negativity between those who are going unheard and those who are obtuse on the matter. I think Mahito understands gender in the form of human reproduction and doesn't inherently think more on it beyond that. If someone corrected him on how their identify he'd take a second to consider their physical form and if it was based on that or based on their mental perception of themselves. Either way, I don't really feel like he'd have a care in going along with how someone identifies as, since gender to him isn't a huge deal. On top of that, his interest in psychology and philosophy surrounding the subject is probably the saving grace here that would have him be interested in going along with it. Because without that, he really wouldn't care and would call someone whatever came to mind. This isn't to say he's a nice curse, btw. Mahito will likely make rude jokes at the expense of someone. Gender, orientation, whatever regarding all that isn't really off limits if he wants to be mean in some way.

I think Mahito has a good understanding on the prejudices that exist. While he has no real attachment to gender as a curse and just decides based on his whim of what he likes at the time, he understands the value humans have with it and the negativity that generates because of the subject. Hell, he was probably born from a decent chunk of the hatred ignorant people have on the subject and the hatred (and fear) people on the other side of the debate (nonbinary, trans, etc) also experience. Mahito sees this issues humans face and thinks they are silly things to squabble about. But hey, they are generating negativity and kind of proving his own ideology so he isn't about to complain either.

Also feel free to ask about sexuality! I'm pausing this answer without that part because I'm not wholly sure what about it you'd like me to address. If you mean how curses or Mahito perceive sexuality? Or if he associates with that-- like similar questions here just flipped for that subject or something else. So rather than presuming I'll let you feel free to ask if you'd like so I can give the inquiry the attention it deserves.

If I didn't answer something enough, feel free to specify and I'll clarify my thoughts further. I don't mind at all.

"How absurd," Mairon says -- not relinquishing his grip on her -- in a manner he means to be comforting.

Most, he knows, do not understand it as such.

She is not most, however -- she never has been; his sister-spirit, his twin ember, the only other one like him left in this place -- and so he has never needed to cut off the surrounding air to temper his aura lest it be too caustic, to tuck away his edges until he is easy and palatable and unsharp. Not with her; never with her.

And he is determined that she treat with him in kind.

And so he pulls her back into his arms and keeps her there, a spark flashing wild and bright, and drops his face into the soft halo of curls that crowns her head.

"I am also made of fire."

The reminder is all it takes for her to break, and she sweeps over him like ashfall or a blaze of light, wrapping herself around him and clinging to his front, leaving him to piece together the details of what happened from the roaring fragments that flare across his mind and the strain of sobs, twisting and snapping, beneath his chin.

She is wasted on them, who fear her; who would seek to contain her, to control her, to dampen her fire to fit neatly within their limited notions until she is nothing more than a pretty lantern, politely lighting the paved streets of their cities.

Mairon despises waste.

He lifts a finger and softly traces her brow-bone to her cheek-line and all the way down to her lips, where his attention hovers, for a moment, before he leans in to rest his forehead against hers.

There is one, he thinks, and the very thought splits him like the fiercest bolt, leaving him cloven in half and bleeding Song, for it is something that will never be. One under whose command she would flourish.

He would let her run like wildfire in dry fields, clothe herself in the molten heat under the mountains and dance with all abandon on flaming feet upon the unmelting ice; scorch the entire sky, if she so wished. Mairon knows, because he has seen it for himself: he has visited the great forges beneath the earth and the sharp mountainsides that tumble into the pines and the grinding ice with its vast dark fogs, shrieking in its song; and he has left his heart there.

She would never agree, and he knows this as well; it is the reason he has not spoken to her of the wonders he has seen in the wilderness of the far north, new and marvelous and terrible, no matter how he burns to share it with her.

No; Arien will remain here, eclipsed by treelight, safely contained in her fana like candle-flame kept tame behind panes of glass.

And he will leave, one day. Soon.

Until then, he will stay quiet -- for her sake, more than his; close as they are, ignorance will, doubtless, be difficult enough to affirm for the last spirit of their kind remaining unallied with Melkor. He will let her find rest in her unknowing and take joy in what precious little time she is unaware is trickling out, and he will hold her, close and tight and often -- for Mairon does not plan to take anything with him when he goes, save the blinding memory of her brightness and her sweet, stinging scent and the weight of her, cradled in his arms.

I have finally watched Once Upon a Studio! Seeing all the disney characters was so exciting!!! I love how we get to see certain characters interact that we may never have even thought about before, like the dalmatian puppies and Chernabog XD

It's hard to pick my absolute favorite moments, so here are just the ones that I like in general XD

The men's room scene. Seeing all the boys getting themselves fixed up for the photo, and Gaston being his usual self. And Minnie covering her eyes when she came in!!! We have to protect her.

Kaa getting pan smacked by Rapunzel. That poor snake can't catch a break XD

That alien following Ursula all lovey dovey. I still need to see Disney's sci-fi movie, but that was adorable ^^

Prince Charming losing his shoe and trying to get Eric to stop Max! And then Cinderella encouraging Max XD I like to think that's a subtle nod to her being a dog person with Bruno (the dog, not the rat man XD)

“No.” He sounded vague, distracted. Slightly thrilled. “I think the session has a surprise guest.”

“Senate duty?”  Anakin shook his head.  “No way.”

“Anakin…”

“We’re supposed to be on leave.”

“We are,” Obi-Wan sighed, well used to these arguments.  “One senate appearance is hardly a burden.”

“But-”

“I honestly thought you’d be pleased.  I believe Senator Amidala is speaking today.”

“Padmé’s my friend,” Anakin said, with undue emphasis.  “That doesn’t mean I like politics.”

Obi-Wan rolled his eyes and started walking.  Anakin would no doubt wear out his complaining eventually.

Padmé was, as Obi-Wan said, speaking, and Anakin did his best to listen.  Really.  He did.  And he definitely heard something about peace negotiations - lots of noble, idealistic, unrealistic things, as the Chancellor would say.  (Probably.  Something like that.  Maybe with fancier words.)

But Padmé could only speak for so long, and then the session had to be given over to other, less perfect people.  He looked at Obi-Wan, hoping to catch his eye and commiserate, but he was busy staring intently at a hooded figure in one of the backmost pods.  Anakin focussed in; he sensed no ill-will from them, only concentration.

“Something wrong?”

“No.”  He sounded vague, distracted.  Slightly thrilled.  “I think the session has a surprise guest.”

As the Chancellor introduced the honourable Duchess Satine, Anakin supposed he was right.

The Duchess, much like Padmé, spoke largely of peace.  She also spoke of hardship, food shortages, corruption, and fear.  Horrors of war infecting even those planets that shunned conflict, completely consuming those who were forced into it.  She asked the Republic to turn back, warned them of consequences the likes of which hadn’t been seen for centuries.

Obi-Wan hung onto every word.  Anakin could practically see the hearts in his eyes.

“Obi-Wan?”

“Hm?”

Force, you couldn’t even tease the man.  He was too in love to even notice - and so earnest about it, it’d probably be like kicking a loth-kitten.  “Nothing,” he said.

He hummed again and kept on watching Satine - and Satine, if Anakin wasn’t very much mistaken, snuck glances back at him, too.

i mean, i would hope through my art, writings and meta, it'd show through that i love the guy (one of my ocs is shipped with him, too, which is usually a positive indicator).

that's a bit bland of an answer, but i guess if you're looking for more specific/detailed or certain aspects of his character, then let me know? i'd be happy to elaborate! i just don't really know where to start with this question as-is because my opinion overall is: "what's with this lost, sassy child (affectionate)?" and there are about a billion ways i could dig into that, some of which i already have.
