I am loving season three of young royals and the direction of Willes character. Simon and Wille really do come from two different worlds. the exploration of Willes privilege and Simons perspective of the world coming from the working class and how their differences effect their relationship, its a very nuanced direction that i genuinely didn't think the writers had the balls to explore lol

Thinking once again about Knuckles paralleling Chaos.

Chaos isn't an Ancient, but is related to them and was granted a form reminiscent of the Ancients.

What if Knuckles looks like an echidna, but was changed into that form from... Something else? What if the echidnas underwent a similar transformation as the Ancients did when they became the Chao?

The Chao seem more fragile than the Ancients. They need a source of pure water to thrive, the Ancients didn't appear to have quite the same limitation. What if the echidnas couldn't cope with the changes, and that's how they became extinct?

Dont get me wrong, i liked the rest of the characters a lot and im excited to finish the rainwild chronicles but i do think this is one of hobbs weakest works if not the weakest in the whole rote series, it felt like a much longer book cut in half. I have lots of thoughts about the themes that hobb is focusing on but i will wait to be done with the series to form my opinions

please i love you i'm begging you bring back suspension of disbelief bring back trusting the audience like. i cannot handle any more dialogue that sounds like a legal document. "hello, i am here to talk to you about the incident from a few minutes ago, because i feel you might be unwell, and i am invested in your personal wellbeing." "thank you, i am unwell because the incident was hurtful to me due to my childhood, which was bad." I CANT!!!!

do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

This is even further emphasized with Izutsumi. She’s 17 (and actually turns 18 during the faligon feast), older than the tallman age of maturity, and still reads VERY immature to the audience. By the time Chilchuck was Izutsumi’s relative age, he was already on his third kid and had moved away from home to the city.

Imagine Izutsumi being a parent of three. Imagine Senshi having a child of his own when he was with the miners.
