Hi! Just wanna raise some awareness here because South America is on fucking fire and I need to see more people talking about this.

Im just going to talk about the ones i'm closest to, but if you know about these fires, feel free to add in the reblogs!

Chile

In Chile there's (up to Feb 5) 160 wild fires, of which 40 are still trying to be controlled by authorities. The president, Gabriel Boric, has declared State of Emergency in the whole country, and theres a Red Alert Code in most part of the country.

Isla de Chiloé, Southern Chile (900 km away from Santiago de Chile)

This is a (recently controlled) fire that lasted a week, but many neighborhoods were burnt to the ground.

The whole South is in red alert for constant sudden fires that spread quickly due to the lack of rain and the elevated temperatues in the zone. Just today, two fires had to be controlled in the main land next to this island, and more are being reported in the Los Lagos region. This is added to the "controlled" intentional fires that farmers make to clean their fields of old crops along the Central-South parts of the country, mostly surrunding the main route, Ruta 5, that connects the whole country, thus making it hard to see and breathe because of the smoke. (flashnews, most of them get out of control quickly.)

Valparaiso/Viña del Mar, Central Chile (100 km away from Santiago de Chile)

A fire that started on Friday 2nd and grew exponentially because of the wind and the dry, hot climate. More than 100 people are dead, with 70 unrecognized bodies and other 400 that have dissapeared. At least 30000 people that have lost everything to the fire.

There's massive evacuations from this and the neighboring city, Viña Del Mar.

This is said to be the second most deadly fire in the century, surpased by Australia in 2009.

45000+ hectares that include land and neighborhoods have been burnt down.

Argentina

Parque Los Alerces (Esquel), Chubut

The fire strarted on the 25th January, and the climate has made it hard to contain. 3000 hectares of native forest have been burnt to teh ground. It is now growing in the direction of the nearest city, Esquel. Theres been evacuations between yesterday and today (4 and 5th Febuary)

Parque Nahuel Huapi (Bariloche), Río Negro

The reason why im writing this. The city woke up today covered in smoke after a wildfire developed yesterday during the night. The reason? A fireplace that was not turned off in a place where people cannot disembark and can only be reached via boats.

As of now, there's not much information about the fire but hopefully the firefighters will be able to contain it before it reaches Tronador Mountain, where an ancient glaciar is.

...which leads me to the other point i wanted to talk about.

Firefighters

They volunteer to do this job.

In Argentina and Chile, firefighting is not rewarded with a salary, and most of the times they dont even have full firehouses to stay in. These people are at their houses, ready to jump into action and run to the station the second the alarm goes off.

They are neighbors, people that risk their lives and run into danger willingly, just because they want to help the community.

I felt the need to give a shout-out to these people and say:

Don't be a fucking dick, don't start fires in the woods unless it's an approved place, and if you do, TURN IT OFF.

Pour abundant water on it, and do not stop when you don't see any more flames.

Keep pouring water until the ashes don't burn/feel like room temperature in your hand if you put it 10 cm away from it, and even then, pour some more just to be sure.

No heat and no smoke mean a safely extinguished fire.

Save lives and forests.

You scan in at security feeling the way your gut braces itself. The way it aches, becoming more prominent and heavy to carry the closer you get to the elevator in FBI headquarters.

It's filled with gnarly bats. As soon as the elevator doors open, they morph into fluttery butterflies.

He looks up, a previous frown on his features melting away as he tucks his phone into his trench pocket. He smiles at you, does his usual side-step to make room for you.

You press the button for your floor and the doors close, sealing you in.

You tell yourself to breathe and exhale slowly.

"Morning," he says to you. You glance at him, he's smiling down at his polished shoes.

"Good morning, Agent York." You say timidly, looking at your own shoes in turn.

The silence engulfs the elevator; it seems like it's taking forever as it climbs, rattling occasionally. You bring your coffee cup to your lips and swallow.

"Is that from Henry's?"

You swallow, nodding "Mm, I can't function in the morning without at least three of these before I even get here. It's the best coffee." You say, and then realise you're talking too much and he probably doesn't care.

He's just being polite.

Another silence fills up all breatheable space in the elevator.

"Did you have-" He stops before he's begun as the elevator doors open and a couple of bodies cram in.

You both step back making room, and he clears his throat. You peer up at him and catch him smiling with a side glance at you.

You stare at the back of the man's shoulders in front as you feel your cheeks warm.

They exit after you climb a few more floors and you're alone together again.

He clears his throat and speaks. "How was your weekend?"

You gulp too quickly, spluttering a little as he takes you by surprise.

"Urm, it was-" The doors open again as you reach your floor and you're dismayed not to be able to answer him.

You step out sheepishly as the doors close behind you quicker than you'd like. You throw an apologetic glance back and he smiles softly.

The following morning, the elevator doors open, and he's there smiling at you, as always.

You warm as you step in and notice that he's holding a cup of Henry's coffee in his hand. He brings it up to his lips and drinks, smirking at you from the corner of his mouth.

"Good morning, Agent York." You say. "Good coffee?"

He nods. "Someone told me it was the best. I had to see for myself." He chuckles lightly as you smile.

You can feel the heat rise in your body. The elevator doors open and you step out.

He steps forward, his foot preventing the sensor from closing them up.

"Have a great day," he calls to you with earnest brown eyes.

"You too, Agent York." You smile, walking backwards until he disappears back inside.

I shall take the initiative with some classics!

Ran Yakumo and Yachie Kicchou

Eyyy ninetails, a true classic!! Very flowing, elegant, and seemingly light, but I imagine they must be a bit heavier and denser than appearances might suggest. They fan out over a fairly large area, I'm curious if they all converge into the same base or if they're spread out a bit? Unbelievably soff to the touch. They must be very easy to get lost in, as there are nine of 'em after all, so likely a set of tails to be approached with utmost caution... Ran Yakumo tail rating: touch fluffy tail Despite working on a bunch of fangames I still can't say I know very much about 2hu as a whole, but given the structure of Yachie's tail and the way it covers her back all the way up to the shoulders, I'd wager she's based on a serpent? I'm not actually quite sure how the anatomy works here, but I imagine the "tail" part of it doesn't break away until the lower spine or smth, so the upper part likely acts more like back armor than anything else. And speaking of armor, nothing is getting past those topside scales, goddamn. Pretty sure that thing could tank a bullet. I imagine touching it would be akin to nuzzling your face into the side of a pineapple. By contrast the underbelly (can I say tails have a belly??) looks smooth to the touch, likely cool as well. It's not fluffy or anything but it's pleasant in it's own way! We'll even throw in a free little feathery duster right on the end, no extra charge*! *Just pay shipping and handling Yachie Kicchou tail rating: it must taste like pineapple too (but there's only one way to find out (BITE))

You know, I had thought I'd posted more birdZuku before now, but it turned out it was all sent to a friend on Discord lol

So here's some more birdZuku drabbles, copied over.

I'm thinking about Harpy Izuku. And how, as a baby, he had dem tiny wings.

The first time, as a toddler, when Inko holds him in front of a fan, he just instinctually starts flap flappin.

He's just running around the house all excited, like a chick. He learned how to walk very quickly, but speaking came to him a bit slower cause he'd chirp and trill instead.

And he likes perching on things. The sofa in their house has holes in it where his talons snagged on the back.

And, when he was a lil bebe, just wearing a T-shirt and a diaper, Inko put him in front of a fan because he was laid out on the kitchen floor to get cool.

And he perks up and just starts flappin.

He doesn't even have his flight feathers in, he's all fluff feathers. But he's practicin!

His lil baby feathers go all over the place. Enough for a small pillow. Inko collects them for little pillows that he still has when he gets older.

There's lots of little small pillows filled with his baby fluff. Izuku later thinks it's embarrassing…but he still sleeps with at least one of them at night.

Izuku got lots of hugs as a baby. Not only because Inko loves him, but also, her boy soff.

And Izuku just cuddles his neck in and blinks slowly till he's asleep.

When it's naptime, he'd always be softly peeping, hiding his head against his mom's stomach so he can sleep.

Toddler Izuku hop hoppin along the ground until he gets to Aunty Mitsuki and trying to climb up on the couch so he can sit with her.

Also, his peets are more his hands than the little clingers he has where he would've been. So Inko makes him special mittens so he doesn't scratch up everything.

But he kinda sits back on his butt and reaches out for things with his lil peets when he wants something.

It's why his handwriting is literal chicken scratch. His ring and pinkie fingers are the long part of the wing while he does still have a thumb, pointer, and middle finger right at the wing arch. But they're usually tucked away and hidden under his feathers.

He mostly uses them the same way bats use their thumbs and they aren't that great at doing much else than grabbing. Hand-eye coordination is foot-eye coordination for him.

He can stand on one leg real easily, so if something's thrown in his direction, he'll just shift his weight real quick and grab it with his foot.

Izuku may not be quirkless, but he does face quirk discrimination.

He's so much like a bird, he has to wear skirts instead of pants and has to have special underwear he can put on for himself.

A lot of his clothes have had to be custom made, and because his feet are essentially his hands, he usually has to wash his feet several times a day to do anything with them.

And schools have to go out of their way to custom make a uniform for him, and because of the way bathroom sinks are, it's hard for him to wash his hands without having to flap his wings indoors, which can sometimes cause a mess.

He also has sharp teeth and very sturdy facial skin in place of a beak, though sometimes, when he get's very birdy, it can almost seem like he has a beak. mass hallucination lmao

Waking up next to Yuuji always felt surreal for someone like Keiji, even if this had been their daily routine for quite some time. This was a rare instance where he woke first before the other, taking time to stare at the features he always fell in love with every time they met eyes. The very thought made his cheeks flush red, but this was natural when he was in this kind of relationship.

And with a gentle smile on his face, Keiji tucked hair behind Yuuji's ear, thinking how beautiful this person was, and fortunate he was to wake up next to him.

Years of ups and downs feel insignificant curled up next to his heart and home. The sleep comes easier each night, the hours he spends in peaceful comfort growing each passing day. He rarely paces around the apartment in the dead of the night anymore; the stress of having to be something having eased to a buzz he can more easily ignore.

Sure, he still has his dark days, but it's become so much easier.

It's because of the warmth that cocoons him, offering him respite in the tumultuous world he's lived in for years; it's because of the gentle hands that hold him like he's precious despite his flaws; it's because of the solid body offering support when he can't support himself anymore; it's all because of Keiji.

Where he might have, in the early stages of their relationship, woken up to the slightest move from his significant other, Teru now feels much more at ease, much more relaxed and safe to continue his sleep, even if the mattress shifts, even if the sheets rustle from movement.

There's a subtle twitch to his nose, eyes scrunching just a little bit, his mouth closing momentarily just for lips to part again with a sigh when fingers brush his hair off his face, gently tucking strands behind his ear.

His internal clock is forcing him awake 30 minutes later. Teru's world is blurred when he blinks his eyes open the first time, and getting his eyes to focus on the presence next to him is a small struggle, one he's willing to overcome every morning.

Teru feels vulnerable, knowing that he's slept while Keiji was awake. However, it wasn't unpleasant. He didn't mind it. He felt safe.

"Keiji..." he speaks, the syllables fluctuating between a whisper and normal speak as his voice is yet to take the memo of being awake; still thick from sleep. At least the blurr of his world has sharpened, honed into one figure and one figure only; into a set of gentle eyes that fill him with emotions, that soothe the invisible aches.

"How long have you been awake?" Teru asks, finding his voice a bit easier, hand reaching out, silently wanting to hold onto another.

In the silence of their bedroom Teru thinks that he's lucky.

Ok so I have reopened the anime feels I thought I had bottled away

No series specifically, just..

Voice actors.

I love voice actors so much.

I don't do it myself, though I do end up imitating characters kind of accidentally sometimes lol. The line just.. comes out?

Anyway, there are great English and Finnish speaking VAs of course (Stephen Merchant, Vic Micnogna, Jon-Jon Geitel, Petrus Kähkönen, Jari Salo to name a few)

But Japanese VAs aka seiyuus?

They hit so different.

Nobuhiko Okamoto's voice is literally perfect and so cool and his range is crazy. He goes from crazy mad characters like BNHA's Bakugo to super sweet and timid like Sengoku from Horimiya. (His confession scene literally destroyed me, DANG was he adorable. Started this whole mess too, btw.)

Jun Fukuyama causes me to swoon every time he opens his mouth, and I might have to watch Assassination Classroom just because these two are in it. This guy also has a crazy range, going from selfish and arrogant rich dudes to normal shy and soff guys <33 (Prince Raj from Akagami no Shirayukihime vs a fairly normal main character Takanashi in Working!!)

Ishikawa Kaito, the voice of my dear little blueberry man aka Kageyama from Haikyuu!!, I love him so much. He does the 'cool guy who is actually a dork' so well. Also the super epic Genos from One Punch Man. Gahh.

Yuki Kaji? Does super calm roles like Kenma from Haikyuu!! but amazing tsundere roles as well like Nishikata from Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san. Love his voice too.

Tetsuya Kakihara? Mamoru Miyano? Miyu Irino? Daisuke Ono? (Silver the Hedgehog's Japanese VA btw, so surreal, he's nothing like the English voice) Yuuichi Nakamura? Tatsuhisa Suzuki? Nobunaga Shimazaki? Saitou Souma? Uchiyama Kouki? Hiro Shimono?

I love the Japanese Sonic cast as well. Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles and Espio specifically, but everyone else is super good too.

I could list these dudes for ages but I gotta go to bed and my leg is falling asleep so I gotta move too so yeh (def not in the bathroom rn)

Whumpee

Littol creachurs, lil bbies, I adore them.

My preference in whumpee is soff, pathetic, and sweet. A limp noodle of a boi, all wibbly and cute. You can poke him, and he will whimper but remember his shape.

I love nonhuman whumpees most of all ehehe, shifters and vampires and mer and demons are always fun :3 cute widdle ears and teefs and tails and--

Caretaker

Anyone that is capable of speaking softly and wrapping up the whumpee like a littol, crying sushi roll <3<3<3 a good amount of fire is fun too.

BUT

I also love any flavour of bad caretaker :) whether incompetent, ignorant/unwitting, or willfully malicious. Very fun, mess with whumpee's head a little and make them terrified of everyone, including any RealTM caretakers that come around and genuinely mean well and want to help :))))

Bottom line, I'm not picky

Whumper

Not even necessary all of the time.

Anyone can be a whumper in my works, whether intentional or unintentional. A lot of the time, circumstance or environment makes (people into the whumper of my poor widdle noodle (see Ewrancore fashioning Kate into a bitch, and slamming Pete with anti-belunae imagery and ideology on the daily :3 and threatening his life with it).

There is usually a main whumper, the one who dishes out the most consciously, but tbh I don't actually care for those characters, sorry Johnstone ^-^'

They are little more than tools to me ahaha... but I will still try to develop their characters.

Just no whumper blorbos unless they suddenly become lil squeeshy whumpees >:3c

Inter-character Dynamics

Whumpee/Caretaker: I love it when a Whumpee is totally reliant on a Caretaker :3 it's both very cute to watch them snuggle and depend on each other, but it's perfect for taking Caretaker away and watch them both struggle without each other :DDD always fun to watch the spiral. I'm gonna do it in the Hunter!AU :3c (which I don't think I ever explicitly announced lmfao)

Whumper/Whumpee: I love it when Whumper dehumanises Whumpee, drags them down, deletes their self-worth, renders them immobile with injuries that will end up permanent because Whumpee is unable to get help, even after they escape Whumper's Cruel ClutchesTM.

Circumstance: Then I just love the happy little accidents OvO Whumpee trying to hide their nonhuman status that would see them hunted and killed (or worse) if caught out, having a little accident that reveals them. Both the accident is whumpy, the fear and angst of trying to hide it to get somewhere safe is whumpy, and also if anyone sees and tries to... do something about it ;)) hint hint, nudge nudge. I use this all the time :D

Blithering annoyances.. That’s all these pathetic creatures ever were. Useless in their continued idiocies to think he’d simply ‘bow down’ like some witless little whelp just because they show weakness. ‘ Compassion ’ and ‘ empathy ’ as these pitiful Earthling creatures would speak ever so highly of as it it were the only constant in this remorseless and apathetic universe. The darkness withering him on the inside deepened its clutches, pierced deeper into the imposing muscle of his intimidating frame. Did they think he’d feel any sort of emotion? That he’d simply roll over and willingly submit himself?

There mere thought of that brought his lip to prickle, exposing the lethality of pointed fangs in the direction of that vermin daring to offend his space. Hearing them beg to spare them.. continuing on this useless bout of ire just to try and change him from what he is. They weren’t any better than that Other fool who kept vying for whatever falsely perceived conception rattling in their empty head over there being some idea of a ‘better’ side to him. Following him as this one did.. trying oh so hard to reach somewhere with their meaningless words and attempts to forge an idea of friendship as though he were some poor, lost beast looking for acceptance.

He knew his damn worth..

He is ABOVE these creatures who crawl among the dirt of their own ineptitude, their own ignorance of his terrifying ability to end them all at any point he wishes. Each and every single day should be given tribute to him for allowing continued existence of those insignificant specks. It was THEIR vapid little heads thinking he was in need of some form of ‘compassion’, or that he needed to be ‘shown’ the right way to live according to their own ideas. Who decided THEY had the correction notion in anything?! Who decided these worthless virtues were the ones to be followed and that he should simply assimilate just because they ask him to, or rather they want to force him to under their false displays of ‘kindness.’ Their worthless little bodies.. so frail and weak.. perfectly matched by their inability to fight, let alone so much as look him in the eye without trembling in fear. They.. were nothing but Prey.

Prey for him to feast upon, to break, and discard at his own damn leisure.

“ I’ll slaughter them the same way. I have no use for your pathetically weak blood. ”

Rather than chuck another boulder, the Brutal Saiyan simply lobbed a sphere of ki and turned on his heel away from the explosion impacting its target.

A smile pulls at his lips and he has to resist the urge to chuckle as, yes, they had in fact mentioned it several times to him before but he didn't mind much. "Hey, I'm glad we're friends too and you don't have to thank me! Spending time with you is always nice." Whilst they may get into trouble often he wouldn't change anything for the world.
