(well I know at this point probably Steve doesn’t have the full grasp of what is really happening with the Outer Circle and how the century game works, but I think it’s safe to say that we as readers, after the Captain America and Winter Soldier special, can understand that what Bucky is doing is for a greater good. It’s a desperate move, indeed, the wrong and drastic choice possibly, but he is trying to do the right thing whit his own methods.

And Namor is right, Steve has always been too much on the bright side to be able to really understand Bucky and his views, expecially at this point.

But Namor is also wrong, ‘couse Bucky isn’t A KILLER, Bucky is a man who has experienced the cruelty of human (and not so human, it seems) kind on his own skin and he knows how dark things can get, and he understands that sometimes you have to act even darker to get your point across. He accepted that there’s this darkness into everyone (maybe not into Steve Rogers, ok, lol) even more into himself after what was done to him, he accepted this a long time ago and he is still trying to figure out how to overcome it to this day, if it’s even possible to overcome it. He is trying to redeem a past he isn’t even really responsible for, and he is doing it in the only way he knows, from the shadows.

He isn’t a KILLER, he is a man who knows how bad life can treat you.)

(sorry I didn’t want this to become a META of sorts, but I keep on reading comments around on how they turned Bucky into a villain and really even if I’m still not totally fond of this arc and I’m nervous on where it could lead, it’s clear that he is trying to break the game, to break free, to do something good in spite of his own safety, even. I won’t call him a villain. that’s it)

Here's a little tidbit from chapter 10 of summer of love

Wilhelm swallows, leaning against the tile wall behind him until his head falls back with a thump. “I thought maybe the feelings would go away but—but they never…” he shakes his head, like maybe if he tries hard enough, every mistake he’s made will undo itself, and he’ll get a do-over. Another chance. “They never…” he can’t finish the sentence. It aches on his tongue, too honest and cruel toward a woman who deserves so much more than him. “But they never did?” Felice finishes for him, crossing her arms and leaning back against the counter. “I uhm,” Wilhelm clears his throat, scrunching his eyes together, letting his face fall to his hands. Shame casts over him, heavy on his shoulders like thick weights, a spotlight calling him a coward, a liar, a monster. Still, he forces himself to tell her, to confess. “I told him… outside, just before the speech.” It takes him a moment to raise his gaze and face whatever judgment Felice could lay upon him. Expecting a slew of words that she’d have every right to call him. Yet, he’s still met with sympathy and kindness that he has no right to receive. “Oh Wille,” she sighs, stepping forward and wrapping her arms around him like no time has passed. Like they’re still their young adolescent selves, closer than they've been in a painfully long time. “You really love making things hard for yourself, don’t you?”

h. paradox

although the main difference between problem and dynamites universes was in respect to the duo themselves, there were a ton of little differences. paradox is the result of all those little differences being gathered up, glued together with a soul and the vague idea of a pig skinner, and sent out into the world with the directive to do harm and advance the goals of the shadows

this is where the whole “two versions of each character” thing comes in.

the top image is the canon version of paradox. for paradox to be a coherent entity with free will (which was important to whatever reason the shadowcaster created it for) and not just another shadow entity, it needed two things: a soul and to not be inherently of the shadows.

unfortunately for the shadowcaster, giving it a soul meant that paradox had the capacity to grow and change as a person.

so, when problem spotted this strange thing that was clearly new to existing and decided to adopt it like a stray cat, paradox eventually learned that disobeying its directive and helping people felt good and decided to tag along with dynamite and problem.

the bottom one is the in game version, where none of that happens and paradox becomes shadow corrupted, eventually becoming the new shadow president.

paradox is tall with weird proportions. its wearing normal pants, they just look like shorts on it
