Carved by Garden cover creation
Carved by the Garden is my single-player tabletop RPG that's live on Kickstarter until August 5!
It's a journaling game that uses a standard deck of playing cards, a tumbling block tower, a six-sided die, and tokens. There is a preview linked on the Kickstarter page.
This is a folk horror game! If you don't know what that means, it's a mix of media inspirations like The Ritual, The Witch, Midsommar and more. There's also a dash of corrupted folklore and of course cryptids. If you love spooky ghost stories set in the woods, please check it out!

New Release! An Illustrator's Guide to the Dreamtlands is a solo journaling and sketching game, played with a deck of cards.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You play a traveller who ventures into a surealistic dreamscape-made-physical and create sketches of the strange denizens you meet there.
You use cards to influence elements of scenes and details of what you sketch at each stop.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's illustrated by the paintings of Wassily Kandinsky and I included one of my own shoddy sketches in the book to show it's fun regardless of how you are with drawing.
Available now on Itch and I'll have physical copies with me at Dragonmeet next monthm

I've been working on this cover for the past like, 24 hours. But I kept getting in my head about it and overthinking, and I kept trying to make something that looked perfect, and so I kept coming up short. I finally decided to stop mucking about with fancy backgrounds and go for the same vibe as the ol' books, and I stumbled upon a design that I really heckin like.

Over Ponyville - Day 0
Over Ponyville (An Over the Mountain MLP Solo Play)
I'm in my MLP phase again and I wanted to try combining it with Solo Roleplaying for something cozy and relaxing. I'll be using not just marchcrow's Over the Mountain base rules, but kind of experimenting as I go. At some point I'd love to go on side quest/adventures with marchcrow's Gen:Hex, but we'll see what happens!
To start things off I'll introduce my character!
Tumblr media
Inky Dew - she/her - unicorn
Cutie Mark: Ink Blot
Personality: Curious, Thoughtful, Outgoing, Clumsy, Worrier
Job: Writer
Hometown: Canterlot
Background / Synopsis: After working for a publisher in Canterlot and having a terrible experience with a rude boss and restricted creative freedom, Inky Dew decided to move away to Ponyville where she could try her hoofs at writing and self publishing on her own.
Over the Mountain Questions Summary:
Why is Inky Dew in Ponyville?: To be on her own away from her old boss and the city, and to write with creative freedom.
What is her talent?: Storytelling
What is her secret?: Used to write Daring Dew fanfiction with tons of spelling errors !!
What is her calling?: To make new friends!
Also to Note: Since I'll be using ponys instead of the humans/spirits, I'm going to generate them on the fly (while keeping the 20 character limit of a 1d20 of course).
For example, I might just keep asking questions that pop in my head like, "Does this pony character have a music cutie mark?" If it says no, I'll keep rolling with other questions. Or, I'll write a number list of cutie mark / personality ideas and roll that way. Whatever I'm feeling I think, really!
EDIT: I found this too! > https://perchance.org/mlp-oc-generator

Follow Me in the Night - Remastered
Tumblr media
Hey have a surprise new/old release today.
In Follow Me in the Night; a Cursed Radio you play a weary magic user, wandering dark streets banishing the phantoms that haunt them; phantoms powered by bad memories and cursed music.
Follow Me in the Night is a solo journaling game inspired by film noir movies, Phonogram by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie, and many sleepless nights. Play requires a deck of playing cards, a pair of six-sided dice, some sort of token, something to write on and something to play music on.
Follow Me in the Night was I believe the third game I ever wrote and it seems to have connected with a lot of people since then. I’m really proud of the writing on the game but it was also the first thing I tried to do actual layout on. For a while I’ve felt I could have done a much better pass on this with all I’ve learned since the original release. So I did.
This remastered edition is exactly the original text* but in a new layout that is clearer, prettier and better captures the hardboiled fever dream spirit of the game. Visually it evokes what I did with both Transgender Deathmatch Legend and The Man We Knew (a similarly noirish Orbital Blues adventure).
In addition I’ve created ePub and MOBI versions of the game for better accessibility. Sometime soon I’ll have the new design up on the Rat Wave Game House Lulu Bookstore as a print-on-demand. It will be a wirebound horrizontal layout, like Transgender Deathmatch Legend.
If you already own Follow Me in the Night (it was in Solo But Not Alone 2 and may some other bundles, so you might own it without realising) you can just download all the new files. Find it on Itch here: https://ratwavegamehouse.itch.io/cursed-radio

COMING NOV 22 - CATS KNOW THINGS
Tumblr media
CATS KNOW THINGS is a light-hearted game meant to tell a humorous story of intrigue, all while pretending to be a very nosy cat.
But you are no ordinary cat.
You are a very special feline who, through some magic you cannot explain, can communicate with your human, an individual who wishes to make their mark in society by any means necessary. The two of you decide to start a society page, (a very fancy type of tabloid newspaper dedicated to a particular location) revealing the glitz, glamour, and inner turmoil of the town’s most notable individuals.
As the cat you will travel across town, using your stealth and wiles to listen in on the most intimate conversations and encounters. At the end of the day you return to your human to relay to them all the town’s salacious gossip for the society page. The goal is to prepare 6-8 items for the newspaper before your human sends them to the presses for the week.
CATS KNOW THINGS will be available on our Itch.io store at 9am PST on November 22!! Please reblog to get the work out! We're really excited to share this game with you!
