So, my apologies to the people who have sent me WIP asks just now, the truth is that I don't have anything for either of the submissions so I'll save them for a bit until I have more. Until then, have this character building concept I just realized is really interesting! Banters with Cole, the perfect way to practice voice, backstory, and character details.

Silaah: "Oh you found a good one there."

Cole: "But they were not nice. They hurt you."

Silaah: "They did. I'm sure my staff over the head hurt too. We both learnt. And there was something else in the memory."

Cole: "Warm. Soft pillow on the bench. Rough scraping, hardwood, sturdy. Hands picking at my hands, gentle, ouch, cool salve. Safe."

Silaah: "I wasn't exactly the smartest kid in the village, what with my tendency to use my staff as a blunt force weapon. But still my parents always pulled the splinters from my skin and made me a new one."

She does not yet have an entry on my OC list yet and I don't have a very firm grasp on her yet since I'm still playing, but I'm going with Silaah Adaar. I want her to be somewhere between super stoic Solveig and complete disaster human Asher and this fits it rather nicely! Light, overall optmistic but kinda cheeky. Also I love the irony of "I want the sky to open wide" xD

11. Bad or petty habits

The most significant one would be that she’s quick to dish out judgement, and once she decides she doesn’t like someone it’s difficult to change her opinion. On the other hand, once she decides she likes someone, she will stick to them through thick and thin. She’s stubborn and steadfast to a fault.

Also she definitely doesn’t get as much sleep as she should, but that’s probably common among most Inquisitors.

Kester learned basic archery in Denerim as a bored child pestering bored guards who let the annoying dwarfling practice with them sometimes (it shut him up at least). He learned a lot more, though, from another Carta member who at the time Kester knew little about - but years later, after he'd left, had learned that she was one of their most prolific assassins and known for making "impossible" long shots. Kester never got quite *that* good at it, but he's better than most.

Oh! Any chance he and Sera learned from the same people? :D (Also the image of a tiny dwarf baby with a long bow is hilariously endearing.)

Relevant fact: Solveig learned hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship from her mother because she was adamant that Solveig knows how to defend herself without using magic. It didn’t make much sense to her back then, but her mother was a down-to-earth woman and being born from Tal-Vashoth parents taught her how to keep a low profile. She didn’t tell Solveig a Vashoth apostate would never be accepted by most of the world, but she eventually figured that out on her own, and the skills she learned from her mother were what saved her life on more than one occasion.

14. Who drank from the Well of Sorrows?

Morrigan did. Solveig would’ve had Solas or Sera do it since the Well’s knowledge and power belonged to the elves, but Sera wasn’t there and Solas refused. So Morrigan was the best next option, simply because Solveig didn’t want to mess with it and was already fantasizing about her retirement planning. 

15. Who became the next Divine?

Leliana, and for a few years after the Inquisition’s disbanding Solveig stayed by her side as the Right Hand of the Divine.

5. Does your Inquisitor recruit the mages or Templars? (did they conscript or ally with the mages / did the rebuild or dissolve the Templar order?)

She didn’t believe the templars would be able to help seal the Breach from the start, so she didn’t even bother pursuing them. Initially her plan was to conscript the mages, but had a last minute change of heart and allied with them instead, although begrudgingly so. But in time she does a 180 on this issue, and goes from condemning the mage rebellion to actively supporting the reformed College of Enchanters.
