Cheers to a new week guys! I like to start my Mondays on the best possible way and I think this Lange Nebbiolo DOC will just do it! I am sure most of you are familiar with this variety as it produces premium DOCGs such as Barolo or Barbaresco in Piedmont, Italy. So it is not a surprise we can see it in Vinchio Vaglio's @vinchiovaglio portfolio as well. This version is a lighter and easier style from the 2020 vintage, let's see! It has a light ruby color with medium plus viscosity. The nose has ripe red fruit aromas of raspberry and strawberry with violet flowers, some red roses and spices like rosemary and thym. Coffee and earthy notes makes it more complex. A dry wine with medium plus acidity, super smooth tannins with medium intensity, a well-integrated alcohol and a medium body. The palate shows flavours of red fruits, plums, coffe and some vanilla with a mushroomy finish of medium plus length. A good quality wine which is ready to drink now or the next 5 years and serve it on 16-18°C. Have it on its own or with well-cooked meat such as pork, duckleg, stews and can be even served with a cheese plate! How do you like your Nebbiolo? Qual das fotos ficou melhor… não consegui escolher, então foi as duas! 😉 🙌🏼 Abri os trabalhos do final de semana com este excelente Riesling da linha “Adobe Reserva” da chilena @EmilianaOrganic — a maior vinícola orgânica do mundo 🇨🇱. Com uvas proveniente do frio Vale de Bío-Bío (no sul do Chile) parte do vinho amadurece 8 meses em barricas e foudres de carvalho. 🍷 Na taça, a cor é amarelo palha claro com reflexos verdeais. Tem aromas de pêra madura, líchia, maçã, flores brancas e fumaça. Na boca é seco, tem corpo leve, acidez média-alta e sabores cítricos (limão) e de frutas brancas (especialmente pêra), com longa persistência. 📝 Delicioso! Um ótimo vinho, aromático e delicado, com muito frescor e fruta gostosa. Bebi sozinho, mas deve ir bem com saladas ou peixes leves. Não guardaria, embora possa evoluir nos próximos 1-2 anos. It's always a great experience to watch wines of over 100 years old. Generally yields of vines reduces as they get older, but they produces very concentrate fruit flavours. Very often wines of this age hardly produces any fruit at all but at Chateau Haut Bailly, the yields are significantly good with a remarkable quality of fruits and exquisite flavours. A very refined cool climate red wine of the grape variety Mencia, with a nose of blackberries and blueberries and slightly white pepper, in the mouth a full variety of dark berries aromas, white pepper, some floral aromas like violet, very refined tannins, low acidity, middle minerality and long, very fine on the palate. Very good quality and really value for money! 100% Mencia build out in french oak barrels gor ten months. To be drunk now or up to another further two years. Cheers to the weekend guys! It is a quick holiday for me in Hungary so I have all the reasons to celebrate. And what's better than with one of my favourite French AOP from the Rhone Valley? Saint-Peray is situated in the northern part and on the right bank of the Rhône river and only a white wine appellation with unique grape varieties such as Marsanne and Roussanne. This Saint-Peray 2019 from Cave de Tain @cavedetain only contains hand-picked grapes of Marsanne on 40 years old vines. Cave de Tain is a very renowned producer of this region with high quality wines in their range. I am sharing more information about them in my stories today and we'll discover more wines in the coming days by this cooperative. Now let's focus on this Saint-Peray! A vivid pale lemon colored wine with medium viscosity. The nose has ripe stone fruits (apricot, peaches) with lemon, pear, acacia, white blossom flowers with some minerality. This is a dry wine with high acidity, medium plus alcohol and a medium plus body with creamy texture and flavours of lemon, peach, apple, honeysuckle and butter (the wine has been on fine lees with stirring). It has a long mineral finish. Very good quality which can be consumed in the next 3-5 years on 10-12°C. A great choice next to fish and seafood based dishes with a creamier sauce, grilled vegetables and a cheese board. Have you tasted a Saint-Peray before?
