The human eyes and mouth were partially inspired by the concept art of him where he had a human face inside his mouth (hard to see without brightening it). I also just find the idea of human-eque eyes inside a black void to be creepy.

I tried to further push this imagery of a human in a suit by making it baggy in some places, and shrunken in others. I wanted it to look loose and artificial. I think i did pretty good :3

Hi! Since I'm putting together a playlist for Nigel and Alex, I was wondering

What are some songs that you think are really good fits for them/their story?

I have a couple Like Minds playlists assembled using my own vision of the characters. The first is my take on LM canon (meaning sliiiightly divergent from it) and which is a complete list in the old school mix CD/tape style, meant to be listened to in order from start to finish as a complete story.

The second is a much longer and more random list that I am always adding to, and which is meant to be "what if they both live" vibes. Some of the songs are meant more specifically as POV or about Nigel or Alex, but most of them are the dynamic between them. Some of these tracks are heavily influenced by the He Stings Like He Means It fic by @gali-in-distress, including the song from which the title was pulled as the first track, and also with songs from which chapter titles were pulled. I am always adding more as I find relevant music for them.

The entire first playlist are songs that fit them well, imo. If I had to pick specific songs from it, I'd have to go with Salvation by Scanners or Monster by Meg Myers.

The big AU list has so, so many tracks that it's really hard to pick just a few. Honey, Young God, Ya'aburnee and multiple other tracks by Halsey are all good. Arsonist's Lullabye IS Alex's theme song as far as I'm concerned. Beautiful Crime by Tamer, Become the Beast by Karliene, Animal covered by Chase Holfelder, Wicked Game covered by Ursine Vulpine, Strangelove covered by Black Math, Tiny Gods by Shayfer James, Bang by Armchair Cynics, Exit Music by Radiohead, I Come With Knives by IAMX, THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND by Bad Omens, I LUV U by Mia Rodriguez, Time is Running Out by Muse, the list goes on and on.

Everyone is going to have their own take on Alex and Nigel and their dynamic as a couple, and music taste is so personal that I recommend just going through the various Like Minds lists on Spotify to see what presses your buttons. To find even more music, I also recommend listening to Hannibal/murder husband playlists and maybe also Killing Eve, Death Note/Lawlight, Killing Stalking, and similar media themed playlists because they tend to have a similar vibe.

This entry is a continuation of my last post.

I hope my rambling of my superstitious side blog satisfy some curiosity (I doubt). I’ve been thinking about what modern astrologers mean by “stubbornness” when they describe Uranus. They do not understand the knives this god brings.

Uranus natives like new hair-styles, they are innovative, they love new stuff, love new curiosity, they like new excitements… blah blah, now stubbornness? I see how modern astrology gets very muddy very quickly, and I could never see myself an astrologer. I am OK with being just a Tarot reader.

Taurus natives are stubborn, but this stubbornness originates from “harmonious form, stable foundation, and sensual materiality”. The Taurus people are “change-averse”, to be more precise. Ruled by Venus, Taurus is “harmonious form that reveals, the Fibonacci Sequence that does not change its eternal principle”. You cannot disrupt the arrangement of flower petals willy-nilly and expect the flower to still fulfill its biological functions and the beauty attached to its life cycle. It is spiritual-level sensuality that hinders Taurus natives’ movements and adaptability.

It is Venus being stubborn, but is it Uranus stubbornness? OH HELL NO.

I described Saturn a lot in my last post, and Saturn is a significator of structure and discipline. Is Saturn stubborn? No. Saturn is limitation, or brutal reminder of one’s weakness and limitations. Saturn often brings delay, hardship and disappointment. Saturn natives believe in absolutely nothing except those built brick by brick, inch by inch.

Ok actually thinking about it. What ARE my favorite IAMX songs?

There's Spit It Out of course, which I mentioned in the post before. It's got a desperate kind of sadness that just fuckin. Hits me.

It's probably tied for top favorite with Music People, which was my top song on Spotify this year and for GOOD. REASON. I'm still so obsessed with it despite listening to it so many times. The Darkness... the Discontent... the way it speeds up in the last portion of the song... Delicious.

I Come With Knives and Sorrow sharing a spot in rank because they exist in the same spot of my mind. These two songs are what kicked off my IAMX obsession all the way back in April. The first two songs of this album, and Man do they hit. I Come With Knives is of course the quintessential Knives song (for my trigun followers lol)(and Yes that is why I'd listened to it in the first place) but it is just. GAH it's so fucking good. And then immediately followed by Sorrow, which has a similar wistful desperation to Spit It Out, but more subdued. Less desperate and more of a cry. (And it is also. A Vash song. To Me.)

Mentioning these 3 together because they exist in the same place of just. Peaceful vibing that these songs bring me. They're a Sway. & a lot of why I listen to this album when I wanna just chill the fuck out. Also pretty sexual lmao but most of IAMX's work has some amount of that. This album especially. But idk it's not like it's an album For being horny for me. It's an album for just. Existing honestly as a human, I guess. I love the whole album, but these 3 are my favorites (& of the three, Sailor is my top fav, but the other 2 are still so dear to me too)
