i know what it’s like to lose a littermate, too.
i often wonder how lilypaw coped with losing the death of her twin, seedpaw. i like to think that she turned to her mentor and older sister, poppyfrost, for comfort :-)

MCC Teams for QSMP Guys
Disclaimer: These aren't official teams or even official predictions or anything. I have no idea if the QSMP guys who aren't in MCC already want to play or even know it exists. I'm just autistic.
RED RABBITS: HBomb94, Philza, Forever, Cellbit
This was the first team that came to me and it all spiraled out of control from here. H is the master of teaching new players, which is good if it's not a whole event of new people (spoiler alert: it is). Philza is also a solid player who knows the Brazilians well enough to teach them how to do MCC and also hold his own just fine. I expect Forever would hold his own just fine. A lot of the games that are hard for newcomers are hard because a lot of MCC guests aren't Minecrafters. I expect Forever to be able to handle himself with an elytra, for example, and H is the SOT king and also a Buildmart enjoyer so he can pick up the slack for the rest. Cellbit may be an unexpected popoff in Parkour Tag with his Esconde-Esconde experience. I'm not sure if he's ever touched an elytra.
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Cellbit. He can have red puzzle too though, as a treat. And the rest of the spawn puzzles will actually get solved for once!
ORANGE OCELOTS: Roier, Tubbo, Quackity, Punz
Roier is Good At Minecraft but he's also shy about the fact that he's good at Minecraft and not particularly interested in tryharding. He would most likely be looking for a team that isn't throwing on purpose, but also doesn't mind if he's not doing homework for the video game. Pairing him with known goofball Tubbo and good buddy Quackity makes sense for that. Punz is a very versatile S tier. He's fully capable of being a sweaty little bastard, but he's good at not being toxic about it and especially at not getting toxic towards his teammates. I think he could do well with just hanging out with a couple old friends and making sure a new one has a good time.
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Quackity is the best choice as the full bilingual and least likely to survive in the tunnels.
YELLOW YAKS: Shadoune, Etoiles, Aypierre, Baghera
The French Team. Frankly, I think the chance of Etoiles getting into MCC is pretty slim. He is simply too powerful. Scott has talked before about having enough S tiers and needing more mid and lower tier players and Etoiles would Not help with that. Adding Shadoune and Aypierre to that is honestly a bit ridiculous. Baghera is not a nerf to this team either. She doesn't have nearly as much Minecraft experience as the others but she is learning very quickly. I did nearly switch her out to try and balance this obscenely powerful team. Their big weakness though is their MCC inexperience. Shadoune is the only one who has played MCC before and he hasn't even been in a handful of events yet. Late games with high learning curves could seriously hamstring them.
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Pierre. I was super super impressed with Pierre's comms with Foolish when they broke into the Federation and I want to see him do comms more.
LIME LLAMAS: Illumina, Spreen, Slimecicle, Mariana
Yeah, okay, this is Pink17 with a twist. This is the only chance we're gonna have to pair Spreen with another S tier though so we gotta take it. To be fair, I don't actually know how good Mariana is at Minecraft. That being said, I do know he's not super comfortable in his English abilities. This is essentially two teams speaking two languages wearing a giant trenchcoat, so I figured it would be best to give them Illumina, king of minding his own business and showing up at the end of the game with half his team's coins.
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Slime. The Spanish speakers know more English than the English speakers know Spanish and asking someone to sandkeep in their second language in their first MCC is cruel.
GREEN GECKOS: Jojo, Vegetta, Maximus, OllieGamerz
The Spanish Team. I really tried so hard to pair Vegetta with Foolish, but ultimately I think he would just be most comfortable with people who all speak his own language. This is another scary powerful team, by the way. Jojo and Ollie were half the team that got the first canon team with two new players a win since MCC 6 and Vegetta is widely considered to be a Minecraft god. I'm not sure his skills transfer to MCC, but it can't hurt! Maxo is here instead of Mariana despite being more comfortable with English because I couldn't deprive the people of their Slimeriana crumbs, however he's another one whose MCC skill I'm not sure of. He's known mostly for his RP like Quackity Slime and Wilbur, but he also has an extremely dope Create mod house so he's definitely more cracked at the craft than them.
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Ollie. He's trained for it and studied for it before his first MCC and Vegetta and Maximus should both be able to at least survive dungeon conditions.
CYAN COYOTES: Mike, Pac, Fruitberries, Cubfan
Obviously, Tazercraft come as a duo. Do not separate. For them, I wanted people who matched their energy. Specifically, strange, bewildering, and staggeringly competent, while still making the most baffling decisions you've ever seen in your life. Fruitberries was an obvious choice. I think introducing them to Cubfan might be dangerous lest they give each other ideas for projects, but hopefully they'll be too focused on the games for any old projects to come up. I sure hope none of the games resemble any games Tazercraft have previously designed!
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Cubfan. He is like the Only guy in MCC who I trust equally as a runner and a sandkeeper which means that I trust him to sandkeep here.
AQUA AXOLOTLS: PeteZahHutt, Jaiden, Fit, CPK
This is just a pretty regular MCC team. Pete and CPK is a very strong combination and I don't expect Fit to be bad at Minecraft, but given the absolute powerhouses that are the French and Spanish teams, I think this is probably fine.
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Fit. Pete has a habit of making risky plays that don't always pay off. I think the scary teacher voice could check that impulse.
BLUE BATS: Badboyhalo, Krtzyy, Smallishbeans, Grian
Here's a PG team for you, king. You've earned it. Yes, Dave can be PG when they need to be. For the record, I'm deeply curious about what Bad puts down on his sign up sheet for his PGness preference. Either way, this is a team of all around strong players without a standout star. We're looking at a repeat of Aqua29 here.
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Krtzyy. Everyone on this team can run but Dave enjoys it the least and actually had their first decent time ever playing Sands of Time as a sandkeeper for Aqua29. They've been playing since MCC1 by the way.
PURPLE PANDAS: Scott, Shubble, Foolish, Purpled
This is the part of the teams list when I went "okay I guess I'm making a full ten teams now, so I have to get the guys with standing invitations in". For the record, that's Scott (it's his event), Shubble (she's Scott's bestie), and Wilbur (he was one of the earliest believers). Purpled is here instead of Wilbur because he's Ever So Slightly More Cracked At The Craft, however this team is actually impossible and would never happen in canon. Scott Smajor has made it very clear that he would never put Purpled on the Purple team. Anyway, Foolish is also here!
Sorrel Assigned Sanddaddy: Scott.
PINK PARROTS: FireBreathMan, Felps, AntoineDaniel, Wilbur Soot
Y'all remember everyone wailing and gnashing their teeth about Blue29 because FBM was being unfairly nerfed by being saddled with three "bad" players and it was so incredibly mean to those players he was with and also like they got 6th overall and did Literally Fine? No? Only me carrying that grudge? Anyway, here's a perfectly fair and balanced team that no one would complain about at all. No but for real, this is the team I couldn't switch Antoine and Baghera on because that would break it.
Sorrel Assigned Sandkeeper: Wilbur. Sorry Scott got to the daddy joke first.
#sorrelposting#qsmp#mcc#i would put this on the reddit however hte reddit protest#this is a reddit post in spirit

Schlatt wasn't sure what time it was. It was dark though, That's all he could tell. He was tired.... exhausted. But he sat in the dim lit Livingroom, watching the windows to the outside, not daring to go to bed. It had been almost a month since the... nightmare situation. He hadn't been sleeping well to begin with over that, but He was getting at least some sleep, because He needed to be okay for Tallulah. But some nights? It hadn't been good. It started with noises outside their place, things that started to sound too close to the creature that had attacked him. He stayed up a little later, just to keep watch until he was sure the house was safe, that Tallulah was safe. And then Sorrel came back. And things had been good again. Things felt safe, everyone was happy! And the ram still kept his routine of staying up a little later than normal, but that was disguised with wanting to spend some time with the other. But tonight Sorrel and Tallulah had gone to bed, leaving Schlatt alone. He had been getting ready to go to bed himself when he saw something out of the corner of his eye, two glowing white dots outside of the window. He froze, heart threatening to beat out of his chest before he rushed to the window- only to see nothing there. No.. no was he seeing things? They had spawn proofed the area, and most of the yard around it but, that was too real. He couldn't take any chances. If dreams could come true, what did that say about nightmares? He'd just.. Stay awake tonight. 69. Cotards Solution

That's a Weird Fuckin' Garden Gnome (I'm a PIXIE you DOLT!)
A bit of exploration for the relationship between the pixie Daen Lad and Tofu. Daen Lad art by @sorrel-haven, along with a bit of collab at the end of the drabble with them and @ffxiv-f13ndish
-
Tofu had been having trouble falling back asleep; he’d been stuck in bed for days and he was starting to feel restless. He knew that he needed to recover, that he wasn’t in the condition to leave on his own, but he was starting to find it hard to breathe.
He had grown up with no roof above his head, he was used to the open air. He was starting to feel suffocated, and he needed to stretch his legs. He sat up, wincing a little at the strain on his shoulder and back, and looked around. Miyu and Kore were asleep, curled up on the window seat together. And he made a decision that would absolutely make the two of them worry, maybe even angry. He was going to go outside.
He was quite skilled in the art of sneaking, especially when not afflicted with a fever. His injuries weren’t of the sort that would make him clumsier, not after the amount of time that had passed; the worst had passed, in terms of the actual injuries. The magical affliction was another story, but he could deal with that when he got there, if he got there. Without a single sound, he made his way to the door and out into the hall.
It wasn’t until he made it to the stairs before he let out the breath he had been holding. He carefully made his way down the stairs, checking the main room at the bottom of the stairs. Once he was sure that no one was there, he made his way out the front door.
The fresh air washed across his face as he drew in a deep breath. He made his way to the side of the house and settled between the house and the stone wall of their fence. He tried to lean his back against the wall as he sat, but the pressure on his injury made him wince and readjust so that his uninjured shoulder took the brunt. He could already breathe easier. Until a pixie spawned on his chest, knees drawn to their chest and their arms crossed, resting atop them. They stared deep into his eyes with a furrowed brow, and something akin to concern.
“What are you doing out of bed?” Daen Lad demanded with a pout. Tofu averted his gaze sheepishly.
“...Couldn’t breathe,” he murmured. Daen Lad adjusted their sit so that they could slam their hands against his chest- not that the action had much of an impact.
“But what if-”
“I’ll be fine. Etgar’s got eyes on the area, and my episodes seem to be less frequent at this point. I don’t plan to go far, just right here, I’ll be fine,” he interjected, keeping his tone soothing. Hesitantly, he reached out and tapped them gently on the head with his fingertips. They reached up and grabbed his hand, pulling his fingers down so they could rest their head against them. To say that Tofu was surprised by the action would be an understatement.
“Oh, don’t give me that look, Rabbit… I’m not heartless, you know…” they murmured. Tofu smiled and sat up straighter, scooping them into his hand in the same motion and setting them on his knee. He tried very hard not to wince at the strain the movement put on his back.
“It’s just…different, is all. After all this time with you not even giving me the time of day, your…concern is a bit different,” he said softly. They looked at him with steady eyes for a moment, before they had to look away, clenching their hands at their sides.
“I was so wrong about you for so long, and yet you never got upset with me. I would have said that love changed you, but now I’m almost certain you’ve always been this way, you just…buried it deep inside so no one could see it or take advantage of it ever again. And now it’s uncovered, clawing its way to the surface bit by bit, and by the Gods has it made you all the more reckless for it,” they whispered. They looked back up at him, fluttering up to hold his face with both hands.
“Please, please hold some value for your own life. If they lost you… if we lost you… I don’t know what we would do…”
“Hey, I already said I’m not dying anytime soo-”
“But you almost did! You pushed yourself to the brink, and you kept going, and going, when most people would have fallen over already. I know you said that you were going to protect them, that you would do anything to do so, but please… It cannot be at the cost of your own life. You think that it’s better if it’s you but who is it better for! Only you. So that you don’t lose anyone else. But what about us? You are so important to all of us…”
Tofu had never seen Daen Lad so close to tears before. He pulled them gently into his shoulder, gingerly resting his cheek against the top of their head. They beat one small fist against his collar, but relented and buried their face.
“I’m sorry, Daen Lad. I will…try to be better. To be more careful,” he murmured gently.
The moment was interrupted by a brief wash of pain in his chest, and a poorly bit back gasp of pain. Daen Lad pulled back and looked him over, but it was a short episode and had already passed. He offered them a reassuring smile.
“That one wasn’t that bad, it’s fine,” he said. They crossed their arms over their chest as they examined him once more.
“For now. You should head inside, there’s a bigger one coming… Better you don’t have it out here,” they said, slipping into something more akin to their usual tone, but there was no concealing the concern. Tofu let out a dramatic groan as he pushed himself to his feet.
“Ugh, fine. Goodbye, sun, I’ll miss you…” he grumbled as he made his way back to the house.
For a mercy, he made it up the stairs and back to the side of the bed without a sound. He sat on the edge of the bed, his arms on his thighs and his hands clasped as he ducked his head. He really must have been in bad shape if Daen Lad felt that strongly… But it wasn’t anything he hadn’t been through before, so he was having trouble wrapping his head around it. But he did say he would try, so he was going to try. He was a man of his word, after all.
As promised, the bigger wave of pain washed over him. It came in a slow swell that started off small, then grew until it weighed on his chest heavily. It was like fire in his veins, and sharp ice across his nerves. He pressed one hand to his chest and covered his mouth with the other as he coughed up more blood. It passed thickly between his fingers, but he managed to remain upright.
Kore jolted up when Tofu began coughing, clamoring over Miyu to go to Tofu’s side. She quickly looked him over and grabbed a clean rag from the stack on the stool serving as their table. She held it out for Tofu to cover his mouth with as she put a hand on his shoulder. Tofu took the rag from her and offered a brief smile before he coughed once more; the blood that filled his mouth had to be less than reassuring.
Miyu was startled awake in the commotion. They squinted as their eyes adjusted in their dazed state, the miqo’te nevertheless hastily getting up to assess the situation. They sat down at his opposite side, smoothing his hair out of his face as they got a look at him.
“Go- hm… Morning,” they mumbled to the both of them.
“S-sorry to wake you,” Tofu managed between gasps. He set the rag on his leg and reached out to pat Miyu on the head, but noticed the remaining blood on his hand and drew back. He tried and failed to bite back a low moan of pain as his hand tightened against his chest.
“Oh, good, it’s as I thought…you’ve only got a few more of these bigger episodes left, it seems like. The built up aether is nearly dissipated,” Daen Lad said, having appeared on the desk, sitting almost carelessly on the edge, trying to appear more like their usual self, especially in the presence of the other two. “You’ll still have smaller episodes for a bit longer, but there shouldn’t be anymore like this after a few more days.”
Kore looked at the pixie, “Thank you Daen Lad.'' She looked at Tofu and rubbed his shoulder soothingly. “Once this has passed, your body can finally heal.”
“You certainly need a long vacation,” Miyu mumbled, brows in a tight furrow. Using their sleeve, they wiped whatever specks of blood were left on his lips. “Sorry you had to wake up like this.”
“R-right, woke up,” Tofu murmured, glancing at Daen Lad. The pixie shrugged. Kore glanced between the two and let out a soft sigh. He looked away sheepishly.
“Well, I’ll make some breakfast. Miyu, could you stay with him?” she asked.
“I don’t have a leash, but I’ll make do,” they jested lightly, having caught on. “Thank you for breakfast, Kore.”
Tofu stifled a cough into the rag and let out a sigh as the pain eased slightly. He rested his arms back on his knees again and ducked his head to hide his face.
“I-I just needed air…nothing happened…” he murmured.
Kore let out another soft sigh, this one more sympathetic. “While we eat, we can sit in the front yard, hm?” She kissed the top of Tofu’s head as she stood up.
Miyu immediately perked up.
“We can have a picnic!” they excitedly suggested, a gleam of delight in their eyes. “Maybe not just today, too, hm?”
Tofu winced once more as a brief flash of pain bubbled up, but smiled gently at Miyu.
“Yeah. I’d like that.”

i think one of the reasons why cross-clan romances are so popular are bc they make age gaps more palpable.
like, a clan is an incredibly small, close-knit community. there is no way for these cats to not interact with each other until they are both adults, no matter if the age difference is a moon or several years. cross-clan romances, you could probably say that they don’t meet at a gathering until both are warriors (even though realistically they probably would have met some time before).
two relationships with around the same age gap are brackenfur/sorreltail and dovewing/tigerheartstar. about a year.
brackenfur, you know, probably greeted the kits when they were born. he in particular played with the kits a lot because of his interest in mentoring snowkit. his first apprentice, tawnypelt, is a bit older than sorreltail, and his brother mentored one of sorreltail’s littermates.
dovewing and tigerheartstar dont meet until dovepaw is like, a new apprentice, and tigerheart is a warrior. they havent interacted at all. tigerheart hasn’t been involved in her upbringing or brought her mother prey in the nursery as an apprentice. they’ve had no interaction until an age that makes their age gap more easy to swallow.
#i am NOT a bracken/sorrel anti this is just analysis#i think that the way that the erins set up age in warriors is interesting#bc it is clear that they like#didnt plan. for romances. beyond fire/sand#two unrelated cats spawned from the void#the whole litter system makes it difficult i think for fandom to interact with#bc you either got 0 moon age gap between litters and omg theyre practically siblings#or you got like a 2 moon age gap (blue/snow and rose/thistle/sweet litters) and omg the older litter practically raised the other#there also just arent litters born that often!#not a lot of viable mates#oh and i mean with fire/sand theyre conveniently two unrelated cats of the same age#warrior cats#amber.txt#im not tagging characters lmao

The Road To Ruin(?): you mentioned twenty three hours of slideshow. What else is there?
Okay okay SO! It's not a 23 hour long slideshow, as much as that would definitely be my magnum opus, it just took me 23 hours to make. Although I did sleep, so more like 17. BUT I've added a slide or two since then so technically it's a 24h slideshow ;0
There are. So many people on this slideshow. I didn't REALIZE how many OCs I was making until I put them all in one place. There are TWENTY SEVEN character slides, plus an extra slide for "I need to remember their name but they are NOT going to end up Important"(tm). Sadly, Cole from Into The Mixing Bowl is not on it yet, and they will likely garner an entire slide. As soon as I learn their birthday XD
Anyway I try to make a slide for every important person I build myself, plus NOPC Fay Dunbar because at this point she's so divorced from canon that she requires an explanation xD I love her immensely.
So! Not everyone but here's the two Delphis I sometimes mention, Calli, Fay, and the various Potter Twins that have been mentioned so far.
Starting with The Boys!

I hope the slides explain them well enough but I will answer any and all questions I love them so much. Charlie's from the first twin au I ever made - don't think it counts as a wbwl because at that time I didn't know the trope and the "Chosen One" shenanigans focus on both of them.

I'm like 98% sure I wrote Sorrel having glasses in TRTR but it's fine he looks 16 here, sometimes you grow out of them.

FUN FACT when I was building NOPC, I got to the point where you Have To Have A Name but I couldn't pick one, so I handed the phone to my little sister and told her to. That's why there's no theme to the name Connor, unlike the other twins.

We're going to ignore the fact that his name is spelled two different ways, I spell it one, autocorrect spells it the other. The fact that Tristan is somehow a week older than William seems extremely fake to me, but google docs dates my documents and that's what they say.

WILLIAM! He's such a Person. I love him so. Both Will and NOPC get to feature copious Encyclopedia Brown references and it makes me so happy.

Fay! She's my blorbo! Fay Malfoy was an errant thought in War Crimes and spawned her own au. Long before that, THIS Fay was born! I think she's from 2020? I didn't date NOPC's conception, partially bc the twins are only dated so the Ordered By Birthday Slideshow can have them ordered too, and partially because it's the result of multiple aus breeding plot bunnies over three years.

I have so many picrews of her because Metamorphmagery makes her that much more fun to do. I love her so much. Alongside becoming the Astronomy teacher, she contracts with Gringotts to break in and then point out flaws in their security.

Calli! She's Delphi Lyn's soulmate and she's such a person. I can't wait to get NOPC out and get reactions.

I saved the best for last; it's Delphi Lyn, mwah. Gosh this woman does. so much. I love her. It's SO MUCH FUN to run plotlines with her. Delphi Is Not Paid Enough For This is going to be a series of aus spawning from DoM/Horcrux shenanigans and it's lovely.
#Yes I KNOW 3 of them are TECHNICALLY canon but listen#it's my house now#NOPC#Not (our parents') Children#NOPC spoilers#Delphi Riddle#delphi lestrange#Sorrel Potter#Connor Potter#William Potter#Charlie Potter#Tristan Potter#Itzcalli Medina#Fay Dunbar#Jaymeow Speaks#This is the road to ruin#Hyacinth au#Hydrangea au#Obscurial au#ghost au#wbwl#Consequences of war crimes may include:#Harry Potter ocs#Ask box things#DK's disturbing amount of twin aus#Anons#cobra lily

nobody is really sure how old doc and jevin are, due to the fact that as mobs they just kind of... spawned in fully grown, and developed human intelligence later.
Doc counts his age from the day he joined his first SMP. It's functional, but a bit awkward when he's like "Okay, so then when I was three years old, I started breaking Minecraft."
Jevin counts his age from whatever number is funniest. He's currently 420 years old. He has been 420 years old for 69 years now. He has been 420 years old for 69 years now for a fair few years too.

So let's get together and feel alright~
🥥 Caribbean Music: Jamaica
Jamaican folk music called Mento emerged in the 1940s and 1950s. Mento strongly influenced the birth of Ska and Rocksteady in Jamaican during the the late 50s into the 60s respectively. The two genres developed into Reggae during the late 60s and became known for its limitless flexibility. In 1965, Bob Marley and the Wailers released their debut studio album The Wailing Wailers. The album contained the single "One Love/People Get Ready", the song was popular worldwide and established the group as a rising figure in Reggae. In 1968, the following records were released and considered legends in Reggae: "Nanny Goat" by Larry Marshall, "Do the Reggay" by Toots and the Maytals, "No More Heartaches" by The Beltones.
In the 1970s, Dancehall was born and became a more sparse version of Reggae than the roots style which dominated the Jamaican music scene. In the mid-1980s, digital instrumentation became more prevalent, changing the sound considerably, with digital Dancehall becoming increasingly characterized by faster rhythms. Key elements of Dancehall music include its extensive use of Jamaican Patois rather than Jamaican standard English and a focus on the track instrumentals or "riddims". The popularity of Dancehall has spawned dance moves that made stage performances more energetic. Many dance moves seen in Hip Hop videos are actually variations of Dancehall dances.

Wedding 4/4 - Blooper reel
Honestly not so much bloopers as everyone getting wasted? The wedding was the same day as New Years so everyone kept spawning ‘juice’ but I have Slice of life installed so people got drunk fast. But no one got drunker than Julep. I like to think in the last two pics he was whining for Micah because Micah was talking to guests instead of him, and Pepper was realizing what blackmail was while looking at daddy.
Oh and Sorrel decided to strip down to diapers to eat cake. Because.
Best wedding ever!

Best Chicken Layer Feed
You have decided to set up a best chicken coop in your home, but once you’ve taken this step, you’re not sure what kind of food to offer the chickens, not to mention the daily feed rations suitable for each of them.
However, to hope to get the most out of your poultry farming, it is necessary to feed the gallinacean well, and this mainly applies to laying hens. Indeed, this category of hens has a particular mode of feeding to be able to lay quality eggs, and this, as often as possible.
Know to do this that the diet of an organic laying hen is different from that of GMO laying hens. The feeding of the laying hen will be the focal point of this article so that breeders and the simply curious can get a clear idea of their food needs. And to go even further, the focus will mainly be on feeding organic hens.
The dietary needs of chickens It should be known to begin with that chickens are classified as omnivorous animals. As such, they indiscriminately eat insects, snails, meats, and seeds. However, it is necessary here to differentiate between feeding domestic hens and feeding laying hens.
The first type of hens has no specific needs and can feed on anything. On the other hand, laying hens have well-defined dietary needs, not to mention bans like onions and leek leaves.
The daily diet of the laying hen must therefore be scrupulously respected so that she lays in the best conditions. Otherwise, the hens in question will be reduced to providing eggs like their congeners, domestic hens, whatever the type of henhouse.
Frequency The hen is a warm-blooded omnivore. His digestive system works with astonishing speed. Feeding it at regular intervals is therefore essential. Be aware, however, that this frequency changes according to the age of the gallinacean. Thus, the feeding of hens 4 weeks and older should be done twice a day. This rule is also valid for laying hens as well as for domestic hens.
In addition, this daily diet must be kept at fixed times. The ideal would therefore be to divide the mealtime into two half-days: the first will be around 7 am while the second will be around 3 pm. Those in a hurry and overbooked people will not be required to adhere to these timetables to the letter, which is provided for information only, the main thing being that the hens are fed at fixed times.
Also, remember that 30g of feed goes down a hen’s crop in the space of an hour. This food will turn into an egg within hours. Do not forget to give your casseroles their daily food rations otherwise they will have nothing to harvest the next morning.
Water is an essential element in the diet of chickens. It is, therefore, necessary to provide during the installation of the henhouse the place to be allocated to the henhouse drinker since the latter plays a very important role.
Indeed, this material is an essential factor for egg-laying, which is why the drinker must constantly contain clean water.
The food Hens also eat grains, garbage, and insects. And for the eggs to be of good quality, it is important to vary the complete diet of the laying hens every season of the year. In other words, the feeding of chickens in winter is not the same as in summer. In fact, during the summer period, the heat is at the rendezvous, and the climate is conducive to egg-laying. In addition, the daily diet of the hens must be based on vegetables: salads, spinach, sorrel sprouts, or weedings from the garden. This is the organic diet suitable for laying hens so that they offer fresh and natural eggs.
On the other hand, the cold and the lack of exposure to heat tend to limit the frequency of spawning. The food of laying hens during the winter period must therefore contain fortifiers, in addition to the pittances which are provided to them daily.
To do this, we bring them oats or corn. And if the poultry farmer wants to fatten his gallinacean, he can cook beets, potatoes, or even roots. However, this feed ratio for chickens does not accelerate laying.

Ugh thanks to the Grand Underground my original team plan went out the window and I have a full team of 6 before the third gym. Oops.
Blaze (monferno)
Blue (luxio)
Oleander (Roselia)
Gift (Jirachi)
Sorrel (Swablu)
Lacey (absol)
…and Lacey is currently sitting in the box cause she’s like six levels higher than my team atm.
When Lacey spawned I was just crying like…. Come on! I already had to swap out two of my planned spots for Gift and Sorrel, my only planned team member left is the clefairy!
But my team does have a couple psychic weaknesses and no reliable way to deal super effective damage so… a dark type… kinda a good idea.
And like it’s not THAT big of a deal since I have two more user profiles on my switch for this exact reason. I specifically made three when I got Sword so I could do a play through with each starter.
But still. I had a whole plan! I was gonna have a Clefable and a Gastrodon and a Noctowl ;_;

Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You Review & Wider Reflections
On Sunday afternoon I went to see Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You. As a longtime fan since Generation 1, the thirteen year old boy still hiding inside this now thirty year old man (sometimes not all that well hidden) was nothing short of buzzing; but while excitement was running high as the lights dimmed and the curtain went up, at the same time I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I knew what I wanted: a huge slice of nostalgia; to be transported back to the late 90s, a reminder of when my love for these little monsters was still in its infancy; a warm, tingling Thundershock of a hug from Pikachu and the gang. But would this be what I would get? Would the film alter or even damage my memories of watching the original Animé all those years ago? Getting up early before school, willing to forgo breakfast to make sure I’d watched the latest episode. Some will say “Get over yourself and stop being so precious”, arguing that no matter if good or bad, those golden mornings watching Mew dance across the screen as the ridiculously infectious theme tune rose to crescendo shouldn’t be and can never be touched by watching this one film. Yeah, that’s all well and good in theory but it’s never nice having a half baked reimagining or rehash of something classic seemingly shit all over your childhood. And this was a slight worry because....I’d heard things. That Brock and Misty had been ditched for two other male and female companions. That the movie was only loosely based on the original Animé and might stray from what longtime fans like me might expect. It’s always the longtime fans that feel most entitled, whether it be video-gamers, movie buffs or Pokémaniancs. So as Ash’s Mum comes in to wake her long sleeping son, dreaming of his future adventures in the early hours of his tenth birthday, the weight of expectation was weighing on my mind. But. I’m pleased to say that this longtime, entitled, nostalgia crazed Pokémon fan had nothing but a huge smile on his face when all was said and done. I would go as far as to say that I left the movie theatre, mentally waving my arms in delight, like a Togepi on speed. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t perfect and it didn’t tick all of my own personal boxes but sitting at the end watching the credits roll, I realised that it didn’t have to. Looking around me as the lights went up I realised that it was about more than just me and all of the other Gen 1 superfans sitting there in the semi darkness (and I would wager there were quite a few of us)! Let me explain. WARNING: FULL SPOILERS AHEAD. Something for the Oldies The movie tells a story which is, at its core, rooted in the original Animé. Ash, a regular 10 year old boy living in a world inhabited by Pokémon, dreams of one day becoming the greatest Pokémon Master (yes, the greatest Pokémon master, not trainer). Ever. Like no one ever was (sorry, couldn’t resist). And in this fact alone, the film lavishes longtime fans with nostalgic riches at every turn. From Ash’s frantic dash out of the house (he doesn’t seem to shower at any point before setting off, as noted by my cynical cinema going companion), to those first wonderfully endearing moments of love hate interplay between Ash and Pikachu, it’s all just ‘kid in a sweet shop’, ear to ear smile inducing stuff. Another thing that struck me as a fan from the beginning is that I’ve never seen so many Gen 1 Pokémon in such a short space than in this movie. As Ash tumbles off a cliff into a river clutching Pikachu, a murmuration of angry Spearow in pursuit, a snarling Gyarados darts downstream in what is a near miss for our hapless duo (but at least he has a wash in the river). Pinsir prowl the forests, people can be seen strolling down streets and indoors with their Pokémon at heel. A slumbering Onix is provoked into pursuing our group of heroes. Nidoran of both genders, a Sandshrew and a Paras are all led into a cave to shelter from the rain by a certain legendary dog (more about them later). At one point, I even had to laugh as Ash approaches the summit of the mountain towards the end of the film, only to be greeted by an audience of exclusively Gen 1 Pokémon: Graveller, Venomoth, Golbat, Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Magnemite, Magneton, Electabuzz and Magmar. You wonder if some of these even belong on a bloody mountain but this is the love the filmmakers are keen to show those fans of the earliest generation. A clear message: ‘Here we are! The originals. Back in all our glory again’. And the effect of this is wonderful. I actually began to go through how many of the original 151 Pokémon I hadn’t seen. There were still quite a few but not as many as you’d think. And it’s not only Gen 1 that seems to get that special treatment. Gen 2 is just as lovingly captured. Ho-Oh is the Gen 2 Pokémon at the heart of Ash’s quest in the movie, a quest which was never realised in the original anime but still has its roots there, as Ash spots Ho-Oh flying over the rainbow in the very first episode. But there are others too. The legendary dogs, Raikou, Suicune and Entei all feature, the latter most prominently. When I say prominently I mean this in the most literal sense for Entei - he’s the size of a freakin’ house! There’s even a glimpse of Lugia as the film draws to a close. As a longtime fan it’s great to see all of these guys on the big screen again but I’m also quite honestly glad that the movie did not become an exercise in crowbarring in every legendary Pokémon across the generations, just for the sake of it. Arguably seeing all 3 legendary dogs, who are so incredibly rare that hardly anyone ever encounters them, is a bit much but I was ok with this. It’s not all about the legendaries though; the not so legendary Pokémon spanning all generations are well represented. That first moment when I saw a non Kanto Pokémon alongside a Kanto one and the realisation that this wasn’t a world totally rooted in Kanto. It was great, despite my Gen 1 bias. It really showed how far the Pokémon phenomenon has come over the years and that the filmmakers weren’t afraid to lay out all their wares and risk upsetting those wanting a solely Gen 1 affair. What’s there to be upset about anyway? We all love Pokémon, right? Classic Pokémon from numerous generations are one thing but it’s the set pieces from the Animé that I still remember fondly today and some of these have been reimagined in this iteration of one of Ash’s adventures in Kanto. A clever use of the slightly jazzier (but not necessarily better) theme tune advances Ash’s journey as far as Erika’s Gym, but not before we see him catch his very first Pokémon in the form of Caterpie. We see those initial struggles (and shocks) with Pikachu, the Charmander left out in the rain and Butterfree’s departure to the spawning grounds, presumably to do some spawning with his female companion (can we not even say ‘mating’ anymore?). These set pieces are either bang on the money in terms of paying homage to the original or are slight twists on the original formula (most notably, the Charmander arc). Unfortunately for me, Butterfree’s departure to pastures new didn’t really have the same gravitas here as it did in the original Animé. I think the reason for this is partly due to the time constraints of the movie and that we don’t really get to see Ash’s relationship with Butterfree develop in any sort of meaningful way, except for seeing Caterpie evolve into Metapod and then into Butterfree. The tears flooding down Ash’s face, while they served as a call back to what was a particularly heartbreaking farewell in the Animé, just didn’t have the same punch. But perhaps without a direct comparison, this wouldn’t be an issue at all. Regardless, it’s still a touching monument, showing the deep and lasting bond humans form with their Pokémon; perhaps one of the best outside Ash’s relationship with Pikachu, which shines as brightly as it ever did despite having only 90 or so minutes to show it. And it’s perhaps because it seeks to wow its audience with so many of these individual moments, both past glories and new, that the movie feels a little disjointed in places. At times the action moves on a little too quickly, leaving no room for character development beyond the high octane chase/fight we have just witnessed. Consequently I didn’t feel that the synergy was quite there between Ash, Sorrel and Verity. Marshadow on the other hand is well deployed, being introduced gradually as the movie progresses. I actually thought that using Marshadow as the primary Pokémon antagonist was a good move as opposed to the likes of Darkrai or something a little more obviously evil looking. Marshadow’s ability to seem innocent enough but to pack a few punches when backed into a corner was well done, even if Marshadow isn’t a Pokémon just for the fans of yester year. But this is ok. More on why is coming. Team Rocket make their appearance as you would expect but maybe not in quite the way I expected. If anything, Team Rocket are fringe players here. There is no grand and bombastic entrance with the Team Rocket signature jingle; in fact, I can’t recall a moment when Ash and his friends actually come into direct contact with Jesse, James and Meowth. There doesn’t seem to be much of a grand plan from Team Rocket: they want Entei, then abandon that and go after Ho-Oh but are always thwarted without our heroes ever knowing, either propelled into the air or disappearing off the side of a mountain and always into a glinting star denoting that they might not be back for a while. But they do keep coming back, which is fine, but to no great effect. It’s all a little bizarre and you can’t help but feel, having watched the original Animé, that they could’ve been put to better use rather than simply be made to seem even more ridiculous than they already are. To the movie’s credit though (and this sounds like I’m wanting to have my cake and eat it here), the filmmakers don’t beat us over the head with Team Rocket, as was sometimes the case in the Animé. I remember physically sighing and rolling my eyes at times when Team Rocket would appear and break the flow of a perfectly good episode. The XY Animé moved away from this thankfully but I suppose it was nice to not have Team Rocket dominate, despite also being a tad underused. For longtime fans (or certainly for this one), there were one or two other things missing that, while they didn’t detract massively from the overall experience, just would’ve been nice and not too much trouble to implement. For one, although Ash seems to be largely the same character as I remember, here he comes across as even more gung ho and sure of himself than usual, to the point of actually losing some of the naivety that made him so endearing in the first place. At no point in the film does he whip out the Pokédex, looking confused and saying ‘What’s that?’ as he spots a Pokémon he’s never encountered before. Indeed, there is no Pokédex AT ALL as far as I can remember, just like the one so ceremoniously presented to Ash by Professor Oak in the Animé. There is a smartphone though which Verity uses to take pictures (sigh). Not even Kanto is free from the reaches of modern tech it seems. The lack of Pokédex and ‘what’s that?’ moment made me a little sad as Ash’s confusion was once my confusion, as a 13 year old sitting in front of the TV, pre widespread internet and readily available lists of information, wondering what this new and wonderful Pokémon Ash had just run into actually was. And then running into school to chat wildly with my friends about it - “Did you see this morning’s episode?! That was awesome!” I still remember the original speculation about who the Pokémon at the beginning of the theme tune was and why it wasn’t part of the original 150. Ash’s naivety was mirrored in my own. Don’t get me wrong, Ash is still green around the gills in the movie, pushing Pokémon to their limits at times without fully knowing their capabilities or strengths. But maybe the absence of this wide eyed naivety, even if only a little, struck me so much as I’m not that naive young person anymore. Someone who lives in a different world where information is at our fingertips and there is no excuse for not knowing. I’m digressing slightly here but it did make me think about the then and now. But perhaps the movie’s most striking departure from the Animé is the absence of some key figures. Brock, Misty, Officer Jenny. I understand that maybe 90 or so minutes just wouldn’t be enough time to make Ash’s relationship with Brock and Misty believable, especially when Ash’s relationship with Pikachu should be centre stage. I know that the movie is really only a side quest in Ash’s overarching journey. A snapshot of his travels on his way to glory. But a small cameo would’ve been nice. Fighting a gym battle in Pewter or Cerulean City, especially since the only gym battle we see is beyond this point chronologically and so it’s not a case of Ash having not run into Brock and Misty yet. Ash’s direct rival, Cross left me feeling a little dissatisfied too. What was wrong with good ‘ol Gary. Even though Cross goes from Pokémon masochist to seeing that there’s more to the whole Pokémon thing than ruthless ambition, he’s still a bit of an ass when he goes his own way, despite the fact he owes Ash (and Charizard) his life. The Charizard he abandoned as a Charmander. The bastard. Yeah, he wasn’t my favourite. Let’s leave it at that. Something for the Newbies While you may think that because I’ve spent the last section of this review picking at this bit and that bit and perhaps making unfair comparisons to the Animé days, I just want to reiterate: I loved the movie, imperfect as it was. I loved it for all of my own reasons, some of which I’ve mentioned and some I’m yet to mention but also for other people’s reasons too (bear with me on this one). For as I watched the audience file into the cinema (and I saw absolutely everyone file in, having been über keen in arriving half an hour early), I began to realise that the Gen 1, diehard Pokémon fan wasn’t going to be the only type of Pokémon fan represented. I’m talking about the kids, of course. Kids ranging in age from 4 to 14. The younger ones especially excited to be seeing their favourite Pokémon on the big screen for the first time. One particular Mum and Dad ushered their two young daughters to their seats, one carrying a Squirtle and the other with a Charmander tucked under one arm and an Eevee peeking out of her bag dangling off the other arm. This is a whole new wave of Pokémon fans, all of whom weren’t even born when Ash first set foot out the door and the Gen 1 hype was thriving. And I can’t overstate how much this is a great thing to behold. That the love of Pokémon is still running strong some twenty plus years later. And that’s of course thanks to Pokémon moving with the generations. Literally. I know I’ve been banging on about how wonderfully Gen 1 is represented in I Choose You but in actual fact the movie does a great job of pleasing fans of all generations. If you grew up with Piplup as a starter, you’ll be happy to see that little guy flapping about onscreen; Lucario is perhaps one of the most recent Gen Pokémon to be embraced by both old and new fans alike and he’s here by Sorrel’s side in all of his hard assed glory. And even if you just dived into the world of Pokémon last November with the release of Sun & Moon, there’s plenty to keep you happy here. Marshadow appears and disappears, Cross’s midnight Lycanroc is broodingly evil at all times, and Incineroar, while low down on my favourite starter evolution list, will have younger fans especially bicep flexing and fist pumping in delight. Personally I would’ve loved to have seen Decidueye unleash the full extent of his ghost/grass power, being what I feel is the most impressive starter final evolution in generations but the fight with Charmeleon would then not have been a fair one. Again, to hammer home my slight bias for the original 151, I was glad to see Charizard kick Incineroar’s ass in the end, not just in terms of satisfying the movie’s story but also as a mini victory of Charizard, THE ultimate fire starter Pokémon of all generations for many, over Incineroar, who I feel would look better placed on the side of a cereal packet. Rarrr! That was a bit catty but yeah, he’s just not a favourite of mine but I’m totally fine with these younger generations cheering him on. I did actually force my eyes to leave the action now and again during the screening, as I sometimes do, just to see if everyone else is enjoying the action as much as me. Of course there were the parents, some of them maybe older fans like me but there were an equal if not greater number of bemused parents whose faces seemed to be struggling to grasp what all the fuss was about. But I salute these parents for giving up a chunk of their Sunday afternoon for the sake of their young Pokémaniacs. And what a wonderful sight it was to see this new generation of Pokémon fans hanging on Pikachu’s every ‘Pika’. One little boy stood up through majority of the film, clutching and peering over the empty seat in front, so obviously brimming with excitement. Someone somewhere in the darkness screamed a giddy ‘Pika-pi’ at one point, causing a fair few chuckles. Another child sitting along my row had an expression of pure awe etched on their face the whole time and I can completely understand why: imagine seeing the Legendary dogs for the first time; not just onscreen but EVER. Imagine seeing Ho-Oh for the very first time, gliding over that rainbow; imagine hearing the names Articuno, Zapdos & Moltres, as they were mentioned at the movie’s conclusion, and thinking to yourself ‘I wonder who they are?’ and then rushing out of the cinema to look them up and find out. Oh, to be young again and see it all with fresh eyes. Something for Everyone So far I’ve tried to look at how I Choose You might appeal to the older generation of Pokémon fans as well as the new. But although I’ve painted a picture of distinct camps of Pokémon fans, the movie does a great job of bringing fans from all corners together thanks primarily to its rich visual aesthetic. Everyone can appreciate the sun drenched vistas, rainswept plains, snow capped mountains, billowing clouds drifting over fields filled with flowers dancing in the wind, dense forests and buzzing metropolises so vividly and vibrantly depicted; each area alive with Pokémon just waiting to be discovered, caught and loved. The visual feast starts and continues unabated to the end, never more so than in the Pokémon battles which have never looked sharper and more dynamic. Charizard zooms into the air with a menacing elegance; Pikachu nimbly dodges this way and that, all before landing a thundershock attack of seismic proportions; you can almost feel the flames lick your face as Entei or Incineroar unleash a frightening flamethrower blast; and some of the Marshadow-possessed Pokémon’s attacks land onscreen with the megatonne force of an atomic bomb, or so it seems, also offering a stark contrast between the affectionate side of Pokémon and their über aggressive side when given the chance. It’s all lovely to watch and your senses aren’t allowed a moment’s rest. And that goes for your emotions too. In keeping with the willingness of some of the more recent video game entries in the series to explore powerful and often dark themes, I Choose You also does not shy away from putting its audience through the emotional grinder (the dark lore threads in Sun and Moon are especially worth reading about; I still think about that abandoned Stuffl). There’s neglect (Charmander in the rain), physical pain (Lycanroc biting Cross and not letting go, something that shocked me particularly for some reason), the dangers of greedy ambition (as Ash ponders if Pikachu would’ve won the fight which his Charmeleon just lost). The latter is particularly interesting if we consider the end of the movie; we see Ash finally battling Ho-Oh and the scene cuts to a long shot of the battle taking place from afar, represented by flashes of light on the mountainside. But we never actually find out if Ash managed to catch Ho-Oh or even come close, despite seeing Pikachu looking a little worse for wear as Ash delivers him to the Pokémon Centre after the battle. And this is ok, because we don’t really need to. Arguably, Ash’s greatest adversary isn’t Marshadow or Cross; it’s himself, as he has to put aside all of his own ambitions to save his friends and his beloved Pikachu. Some may perceive this uncertainty over Ho-Oh as quite unsatisfying but Ash’s willingness to let Ho-Oh go might point to him growing and realising there is more to his journey than ruthless ambition. Viewed like this, I find this ending very satisfying and think that had Ash done a pompous and over the top victory dance having caught Ho-Oh, this would not have been tonally in keeping with what we have just seen: everyone escape with their lives narrowly and Ash come back from the dead (or a state of semi death at least in an alternate reality). I’m glad that Ash emerges at the end of the movie better off having not had a moment like this. The Pokémon Centre Lady’s ‘That’s nice’ when Ash tells her they’ve just been battling Ho-Oh is perfect in showing that the result of that battle (caught or not) doesn’t really matter. And, most importantly, Ash seems ok with it too. I would go as far as to say he looks pleased to have had the opportunity to battle Ho-Oh, caught or not and Pikachu having lost. We can see he’s come a long way. Ash’s brush with death is incidentally not the only occasion that the movie is happy with testing its audience. I sat wide eyed as I watched that Luxray found dead in the snow, frozen, trying to protect its infant owner from the fate it ultimately suffered itself. This idea that Pokémon are dispensable yet indestructible; that they can be pushed to the limit with few consequence that a Pokémon Centre wouldn’t be able to fix. With Luxray’s onscreen death, this notion is shattered in an instant and the world the movie seeks to flesh out is made all the more real and believable for it; a tenderness and bond exists between people and their Pokémon which shouldn’t be scoffed at. And, in closing out this section of the review, that bond between person and Pokémon is hammered home no better as Ash and Pikachu part into different worlds, at the tail end of the movie. That moment as they lie face to face and Pikachu speaks. PIKACHU SPEAKS. I actually thought I was hearing things. The minute I saw it I knew this would be a scene to divide opinion. The cynical side of me initially thought this was an easy pull on the heart strings. The Pokémon equivalent of Jack and Rose. But it’s actually much more than this. Having begun watching the original Animé, I’ve been used to Pikachu communicating with Ash by way of facial expression or tonal variations on the same word or half word for nigh on 20 years. But to actually hear what the little guy truly thinks of his partner, that he never wants to leave his side. I’m going to level with everyone reading this. A tear welled up in my eye. The fact that Pikachu never wants to leave Ash’s side wasn’t exactly a revelation I admit but to allow something like this to happen by way of them sharing different realities and one of which being situated a stone’s throw away from death. It was beautiful. It won’t win and Oscar and some won’t think it was anywhere near as impactful as I’m describing. Some will think that it probably wasn’t necessary at all, seeing as a trainer’s bond with their Pokémon seems to transcend language. But, to put forward the most compelling argument for the scene’s inclusion, this is arguably what gives Ash the push he needs to transcend death and push out of that nether realm. Not for himself, but for Pikachu who he would be leaving alone otherwise. Aww man, I can feel the tears coming all over again. Joking (or not) over tears aside, the willingness of the Pokémon universe, both in film and video game media, to engage with what are uncomfortable topics, gives me lots of hope for the future. I still hope for a more adult fan orientated game in which our hero feels like he or she is in genuine peril or at risk of death (I don’t think I fainted once in Pokémon Moon!), a game which makes fans confront real world problems but then allows us to eventually overcome them. I know I’ll be hoping for a long time, as Gamefreak would be unlikely to make such a move and risk alienating such a huge demographic represented by the series’ youngest fans. But, on the flip side, I wouldn’t want this alienation to happen either. The fact that the movie was able to articulate some of these themes and do so in such a way as to make it palatable for younger viewers is a triumph in itself. Those wide eyed children in the audience of my screening were the proof of the pudding and long may it continue. Conclusion I really enjoyed I Choose You. Even though the movie wasn’t perfect, it did one thing really well for me personally: it affirmed my love of Pokémon, as if that really needed any affirmation in the first place. It reminded me just why I fell in love with everything Pokémon in the first place and why that loves has endured until today. The world of Pokémon and the simple but powerful messages it communicates are timeless: that someone seemingly insignificant can achieve great things and make a difference; that we should all step out of the front door and pursue our dreams; that we can rely on our friends and family for support along the way. Never have these messages been more relevant and important than in the shitstorm of a world we live in today and it’s always nice to be reminded that this is the other side of what humanity is capable of, even if that reminder does come from a fictional world filled with fictional creatures. Such is the power of art and fiction. I’ll finish here with a reflection on a scene from the movie which really made me pause and think (to the point where I nearly missed the five minutes of the onscreen action that followed). The scene is when Ash first succumbs to Marshadow’s dark seduction and is taken to an alternate reality where Pokémon don’t exist. He leaps out of bed, a poster on his bedroom wall of a blue car, a red car and a green car in place of Blastoise, Charizard and Venusaur. He’s late to school that day, not for Professor Oak’s lab. Just regular, boring old school. He looks out the window as he sits daydreaming in class , glimpsing Ho-Oh gliding high above, except it’s not Ho-Oh at all but an aeroplane. And when he questions what is beyond the confines of the school fence, we hear something along the lines of: towns, forests, fields, more towns, forests, fields and then the ocean. What is essentially being shown, described and imagined by Ash is a world without Pokémon. A drab, boring and monotone world which lacks a layer of purpose. Quite ironically, this is our reality. Real life. I remember sitting as a kid and thinking that the coolest thing in the world would be if Pokémon were real. To be caught, trained and loved. To some extent a virtual version of this was achieved via Pokémon Go but the initial hype has died down. I knew then, as a kid, and I know now that there won’t ever be anything approaching what Pokémon does in the real world but this scene in a Pokémonless alternate reality got me thinking about the wider implications of this being communicated (and I think intentionally) by the filmmakers. Imagine a world, this shitstorm of a world we live in, WITHOUT something as wonderful as Pokémon, even if they are only virtual monsters living on our screens. This phenomenon which has brought and continues to bring so many people together, be it via the TCG, games or Animé. The phenomenon which was a huge part of my childhood and is something I engage with in some way every single day as a grown man. Imagine if all of that didn’t exist and never had done. It’s a frightening thought and as Ash snapped out of his alternate reality and I came back to mine, I gave thanks for the enduring charm and appeal of Pokémon. The fact that I was sitting in that cinema seat almost twenty years on, still enjoying everything the Pokémon universe has to offer is something that I’m so pleased the film allowed me to experience and feel and give thanks for. Thank you for the memories, Pokémon and here’s to the memories still to be made. My final parting piece of advice: stay beyond the credits. A few shorts, a goosebump-inducing rendering of the initial start sequence to the original Pokémon games on Gameboy and a beautiful piano arrangement of the Pokémon Animé theme tune. A shout out also to @brayshgaming - I hope he particularly enjoyed the Noivern clip but also hope that it isn’t now a regular feature in his nightmares. There is no escape! Thanks for reading guys. Comments on my reflections are most welcome and I’d love to hear some of your own thoughts about the movie. This review was written solely from my memory of watching the movie (and thanks to lots of frantic jotting down of ideas the moment the lights went up, while they were still fresh in my mind). There may therefore be some inaccuracies in here which I cannot yet verify without watching the movie again. Apologies if so.

Do You Remember?
Rural comedies such as The Beverly Hillbillies had been a staple of the CBS line-up in the 60's. The Dukes of Hazzard signalled a revival of the “good ol' boy” comedy.
Luke (Tom Wopat) and Bo (John Schneider) Duke were cousins and buddies in Hazzard County, located “east of the Mississippi and south of the Ohio.” No state was ever mentioned but there is a Hazard, Kentucky - a city, not a county.
Their nemesis was Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke), a fat, blustery and thoroughly corrupt local politician, always seen in a white flannel suit. The Dukes easily managed to avoid capture by dim-witted Sheriff Coltrane (James Best), Hogg's brother-in-law, while acting as Robin Hoods of the county.
The Dukes sped up and down the county in their souped-up 1969 Dodge Charger, the General Lee, occasionally pausing for some advice from their wise old uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle).
Moonshine, wild car chases and crashes along with lots of scantily clad young women populated the series, including the Dukes' gorgeous cousin Daisy, played by Catherine Bach, who reputedly had her legs insured for $US 20 million. Country star Waylon Jennings served as off-screen narrator, to the accompaniment of fast-paced banjo music.
The considerable success of The Dukes of Hazzard spawned several imitations, including: Lobo, Harper Valley PTA and a spin-off from Dukes itself, Enos starred Sheriff Coltrane's grinning Deputy Enos (Sonny Shroyer). When Enos departed the series he was replaced by a new Deputy, Cletus (Rick Hurst).
In the spring of 1982, Tom Wopat and John Schneider walked out on The Dukes of Hazzard in a contract dispute over their salaries and share of the merchandising royalties from Dukes toys, games, T-shirts and other merchandise that were selling like hotcakes.
Warner Brothers held a nationwide hunt to find two new Dukes to fill their shoes in the series and, after screening 2,230 applicants, settled on Byron Cherry and Christopher Mayer.
It was explained that Luke and Bo had left Hazzard to try their luck on the NASCAR racing circuit and that their cousins, Coy and Vance, had returned home after a six-year absence to help Uncle Jesse run the farm. Deputy Enos Strate was back, but it just wasn't the same.
The show's ratings and Wopat's and Schneider's careers all suffered as a result of the feud, so a settlement was finally reached and Luke and Bo returned to Hazzard County the following February. That fall, Coy and Vance were gone.
The series also took its toll in real automobiles as a result of all those chases and crashes. Although on-screen, the General Lee never seemed to have a scratch, almost 300 look-alikes were wrecked during filming. Identically painted Dodge Chargers were kept on hand during production of each episode, so filming was never held up.
“First Unit” cars were driven only by the stars of the show, while “Second Unit cars” - driven by stunt drivers for the action scenes - looked alike on screen but were very different under the skin. These cars were equipped with full roll cages and boxes of lead weights in the boot (trunk) as ballast to keep the cars level in the air when performing stunt jumps.
Once a car had performed a jump, it was finished. The shock of the impact on landing destroyed the structural integrity of the car, even if there was no visible damage. And if the shot didn't turn out right the first time, the crew would film it again with another car.
The theme song from the series, sung by Waylon Jennings, was on the charts during 1980. An animated version of the show, titled The Dukes, aired on CBS's Saturday morning line-up from February to November, 1983 with the series' regulars providing the voices.
