It always gives me whiplash when people describe oriented aroace as a “contradictory” identity. How is being an oriented aroace contradictory?

Most “contradictory” identities play with society’s expectations of X group which is honestly amazing. Aroace doesn’t mean “never feels attraction”. How is being oriented “contradicting” being aroace?

#maybe I’m just missing a cultural link or something #but it doesn’t make sense to me #and it’s always oriented aroaces that we see mentioned #if folks think most aspec identities are contradictory #why are oriented aroaces singled out #rant is because I am #aroace #specifically an #oriented aroace #and I specifically remember so much discourse about the sam #and the sex-positive to -negative and sex-#favorable to -repulsed spectrums #sorry I’m just frustrated with folks who aren’t aspec calling #oriented aroace a contradictory identity #it feels oddly targeted because allos think all of our identities are contradictory #why are you singling one specific experience out?#are you trying to start discourse?
