What was your first fandom? Are you still in that fandom now?

My first fandom was Harry Potter. I am not in that fandom still and do not wish to engage in it anymore for a number of reasons, but it was my gateway to reading from an early age and it was an excuse to bond with someone I cherished a lot and who sadly isn't here anymore. I met some awesome friends through it too, friends that put up with me to this day! Hahaha

Which story have you read more than any other? How many times?

You know... come to think of it, I haven't read an entire fic all over! 🤔 (regarding multichapter fics). I do want to highlight the ones I've been going back for certain chapters/scenes that I love! This list shows a variety of writing styles that leave me on the ground swooning (Warning!! no concrete spoilers buuuut references to scenes):

Holy Ground by @lucysarah-c (ongoing): Lucy can pretty much give a masterclass on poetic writing and I'm not exaggerating. I come back to it for my faves: chapter 9 (aka Levi's quiet morning gets interrupted in the funniest of ways - for us readers, not for him lmao), chapter 11 (aka not knowing how to play Scrabble leads to interesting outcomes), chapter 15 (one OF THE BEST LEVI POV I'VE LAID MY EYES ON), and chapter 17 (when you can feel yourself in the scene, it's just that amazing)

North Star by @sixpennydame (ongoing): such SUCH a special story. I love coming back to chapters 6 & 7, the whole Mount Aspe arc is exquisitely written.

Spectrum by @19941117 (finished): I have nothing but praise for this story and the incredible talent of its author. It focuses on an AoT character I've never seen explored before, and has the most breathtaking of endings.

Silver Underground by @amywritesthings (ongoing): this girrrrl leaves Easter eggs everywhere so I had to go back an re-read many parts to come up with theories lmao. I really enjoy the first chapter, the pace in it, the dialogue, the tension. And the whoooole bit on the Underground arc makes my heart become pudding.

What word or expression always makes you cringe when you read it?

Usually I cringe when I see a sustained behaviour that feels excesively out of character to me (in those cases I choose to opt out). I also feel cringe-y in NSFW scenes when intimate parts are refered to overly poetically for my taste. I'd rather have them refered to in a filthy way tbh 😂

Which fandoms do you read fic for?

Currently I'm 99% dedicated to AoT (had a YoI phase a couple years ago!). Buuuut I wouldn't mind reading some Vinland Saga stories 😏 (@atruewarrior I'm looking at you)

Yay!! I'm happy to see an Odd Girl Out reader who analyzes the story and really understands the characters (I read your blog post about your fave webtoons). How are you feeling about the hate Seungha is receiving? Many comments under each episode are about Chanyang being the best one for Nari and how Seungha is awful and how they'll drop the story if Chanyang x Nari aren't endgame. The way Morangg is writing Seungha's story saddens me not just because it is a sad story but because the author is incredible in fleshing him out, giving him so much development since the very beginning of season two, but the readers are too caught up on how he broke Nari's heart, refusing to see that Seungha is depressed and suffering just as much. So many shippers are focused on the romance and not the depth of the characters.

first: super sorry for answering this so late. I'm really glad to hear you enjoy reading me ranting about the comics I read :P

I believe the hate Seungha's receiving is from people who strongly relate to Nari and take her heartbreak as theirs. Seungha was in the wrong for refusing to communicate with Nari about his problems, but if Chanyang did the same thing, he might be disliked as well. People just don't like to think a guy they're in a good relationship with will turn on them for any reason, even if the reason is good.

Personally, I do prefer Seungha and Nari be endgame. As far as depth of character, Nari is much more suited to Seungha than Chanyang. We're experiencing Chanyang's backstory right now in the Korean updates, and while he's just as fleshed out as Seungha, his reasons for liking Nari still ring hollow in comparison to Seungha's. They both find her attractive, but like I've stated before, Nari is literally everything to Chanyang. His motivation, his happiness, his reason for living. It's not healthy and I don't want Nari to feel responsible for his growth as a person. He plants himself in various places in her life and some readers don't see that as problematic because his intention is romantic. Chanyang skipping school and running around the city to find her bookbag did display an admirable commitment, but also...that's crazy. Reckless displays of affection can be good, but he did it without thinking. Nari has that kind of influence over him, and that's just not it. I still like him as a character, because he does have a certain simple charm and humor about him, but he's simply not cut out to be a good long-term partner for her.

On the other hand, Seungha's brief time dating Nari without being her boyfriend showed how well they work together as a pair. I've heard people say they had to separate because Nari needed to come into her own as a student leader, and I don't disagree. She hadn't necessarily become reliant on him, but it did truly hurt her when she could no longer depend on him.

I think a lot of readers misinterpreted his decision to team up with Yurim. Admittedly, the optics of running for president against Nari while teamed up with her enemy were horrible. At that point, Seungha's main goal was to become the school president so his dad would "want" him and consider him as good as a biological son. He disregarded Nari's history with Yurim to achieve his goal because he felt had no other choice. He didn't know his parents would love him either way. His arc of coming out with the fact Yunha had been abusing him, and spending time away from his family to find and recenter himself was long. He didn't think Nari would stick around, and he didn't want to drag her through it anyway, so he wrongfully pushed her away instead of confiding in her.

Neither Chanyang nor Seungha are good at talking about their problems and feelings. Chanyang will make drastic decisions to solve his problems without telling the people he should so they're not in the dark, and Seungha does more or less the same. It's too bad that communication is Nari's main pull, because she does NOT like having to play detective. Chanyang could be dating Nari right now if he just told her about his messy family history, and I'm pretty sure she and Seungha would be half way to married if he'd just spilled about the abuse. Yunha would no longer be with us, but it would be a small price to pay.

However, it doesn't erase the good that happened when she and Seungha were on the same page. He met her where she was, he listened to her problems, and he supported her in the PR department when no one else did. He didn't blindly agree with everything she said, and in fact, he often challenged her. When she ignored him due to social pressure, he didn't let his feelings cloud his judgement or let that pressure get between their friendship. Like, when that man wants to fight for something or someone, he fights. He's not currently in the position to impose his feelings upon Nari, and he's not trying to, but they've made up in what has to be one of the cutest, goofiest ways I've seen a pair of characters perfectly suited for each other make up. (Spoiler: they both cried with each other).

I'm not sure what the author's intentions are with either Chanyang or Seungha at this point, but I've got a feeling this upcoming school festival arc is going to play a big role in determining who ends up with who. Nari slowly learning about Chanyang is leading up to something, as well as Seungha openly giving her full control of the organizational committee despite being school president. To me, the willingness to support Nari as a leader, while being a leader himself displays every reason why Seungha should be endgame. Neither of them consider each other above or below each other--they're equal partners.

I'm all for Nari putting herself first and deciding not to date anyone, but I hope she gives turtle-candy-loving, competitive-af, meticulous-date-planning, sometimes-cringe-fail Seungha a chance. I also hope she gathers enough information to give Chanyang a definitive, final answer concerning their relationship.

And yes the snake is because Jamil’s my favourite character! They also have very boopable snouts in real life. Ignihyde is full of introverts who like to stay in their own rooms, but also full of nerds who are super into whatever they’re interested in. 🐍, nobody in PJO canon seemed to share his interest so I’d love for if Nico could discover friendship through his favourite card game and be happy there… but him feeling right at home in Ramshackle with a small number of residents is also just so him. Will also strikes me as someone who’d be in RSA instead, so Nico having some people he’d be willing to stay for in NRC would be so important for him to not feel lonely. Yuu and Grim to the rescue, I hope he likes cats. (2/?) 🐍 I’d give so much to see him feel accepted and brighten up a bit more.I’ll be honest I am super, super bad at making headcanons and writing so I really enjoy reading other people’s stuff far more, I always feel embarrassed about my own ideas or just can’t come up with much. BUT Leo in Ignihyde - I think he’d have a blast with all the technology lying around that he could play with and use for inventions, even if he’s weirded out by getting sorted into somewhere so gloomy-looking at first (3/?) 🐍He might not really get what other students are nerding out about like the latest anime though, he doesn’t strike me as the type to be super into shows and media (chronically offline). i love nico a ridiculous amount lol, he was my favorite PJO character ever since i first read the original books. and even though i do have some issues with the sun and the star, i still love his development. it actually reminds me a lot of how idia, even though his anxiety definitely hasn't gone away, has been shown since the end of book 6 to be making more of an effort to put himself out there and try to be friendly with his classmates because he does want to have friends, he's just traumatized and scared.

you have excellent taste for jamil being your fave. i should post some of my thoughts about scarabia on here at some point because i like both jamil and kalim a lot and could talk for ages about how fascinated i am by their dynamic, but some people have the most shockingly bad takes about jamil 😭 do you have any thoughts on what PJO cabin he'd be in?

that's true, i did think about how ignihyde probably has some students who'd be into mythomagic or a twst equivalent of it! but then i thought that since nico is still kind of closed off and most people in ignihyde are so unsociable that even cater has claimed to not have a single friend from there, he might not manage to connect with those people before transferring out. although it also occurred to me that maybe if he and leo were there in ignihyde at the same time, things could be a bit different?

see, i've always thought there were a surprising amount of similarities between leo and nico but the books never called attention to them since the two basically never got to interact. and i wish they had, because i think they could have an interesting friendship if they got to know each other better! so maybe in this AU they could be friends, and leo could be there encouraging nico to stay and helping him understand the tech. i've also gotten myself kind of attached to the idea of him moving into ramshackle though! i guess either idea could work, as long as nico gets to be happy.

i haven't had a chance to ask my friend (who i've referred to as a will solace expert because she has so many headcanons and thoughts about him) where she thinks will would end up yet! i do think that if he somehow ended up at NRC, he'd be one of the few light magic users there.

omg i totally get the feeling of being embarassed about your ideas, anon!! for the longest time i used to not really post any of my own thoughts because i feel like i'm not very creative and it made me nervous. i'm also not always the best at just thinking up general headcanons and ideas unless i've got some sort of prompt or theme to go by. even now sometimes i post headcanons about my favorite twst ships and such while thinking, what if everyone who reads this hates it. what if someone thinks my interpretation of riddle is so bad that i don't deserve my url ASKFJGFD.

i like your ideas about leo, though!! i did think a bit about how he might be as an NRC student, and i also thought he'd definitely adjust better than nico would (makes a lot of sense that he'd be weirded out by the gloomy atmosphere initially, though) and would be fascinated and excited by all the magical technology and gadgets. i also figure that since he is someone who's always seeking out quiet and personal space to be alone and work on his projects, he wouldn't mind too much that the students tend to keep to themselves. and canonically he tries to be a lot more of a loud outgoing jokester than he really is in order to cover up his insecurities and try to make people like him, so maybe he could make some friends there without feeling like he has to do that.

i think leo made a few pop culture references in the books (one i remember for sure is star trek, though he says he doesn't like it) so maybe he wouldn't quite be chronically offline but he also wouldn't be obsessive about it, because his engineering projects are his top priority. he's definitely not a gamer, but i could see him liking to have background noise while he works sometimes and putting on whatever anime everyone is talking about! …which makes me imagine one of his dorm mates getting annoyed at him because he wasn't paying enough attention to remember their favorite background character from episode 679 of one piece, lol.

oh him meeting azul would be a disaster for SURE lol, let's hope idia warns him and that he doesn't have any unfortunate encounters with floyd and jade. and i'm not sure what a fitting explanation for leo having fire hair would be but i do agree that it would be extremely cool. and for that matter, i guess we'd also need an explanation for idia and ortho's hair if they were in the PJO universe… my first thought is they could either just have normal hair (boring, but it works) or maybe it's an extremely rare hades kid thing.

I've seen some stuff about the am@zon pr!me show on the webs, it made me curious to watch, but I don't know jack sh*t about LOTR or anything tolkien, really.

So then I started by watching the movies in chronological order, first the hobbit trilogy, then the lotr one (haven't finished the two towers yet oops). I have to be honest, I don't care much for the original movie trilogy, like at all; I thought the hobbit movies were much better. Should I bother with tolkien's books? I'm going to read the silmarillion either way, seems interesting.

Feel free to ignore this ask completely, I'm scouring reddit for similar discussion posts, still undecided.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the lotr movies but I love that you enjoyed The Hobbit! People usually prefer lotr so it's nice to see The Hobbit getting some love. I personally adore both trilogies!

As for the books if you're looking to get into Tolkien's world I would personally start with The Hobbit (especially if you enjoyed the movies) just because, The Silmarillion, even though chronologically it's set many years before, it's more of a book you read once you've been introduced to the world and then want to learn more. Whereas the Hobbit is a pretty light, relatively quick easy read, and will give you a good introduction to Tolkien's writing.

I'd then move onto lotr next. That is if you're interested in reading it? If you're just not interested, seeing as you didn't care for the movies you can skip it. But as with most books that are made into movies, the books are a lot more detailed then the movies and it's one of the most popular fantasy stories ever for a reason, so I'd recommend at least giving the books a try

Then after you've tried those I'd read The Silmarillion. I wouldn't recommend starting with it just because it's a very different book to The Hobbit/lotr. The Silmarillion is more of a detailed history rather then a straight fantasy novel. It's made up a series of shorter stories, that all fit together into a larger one and is very heavy with characters and events and world building. And although I love it and it's my fave book! it can be quite divisive in that people either love it or they just can't get into it. And I will admit the first few chapters are a bit of a slog to get through the first time you read it, but defs stick with it and push through because it gets so much better! Anyway If you're a fan a histories and detailed world building (me!) you'll love it. But for people who aren't so much into those things, they can find it a bit heavy. But reading it will definitely make the whole Tolkien world more immersive, and adds a whole nother layer to The Hobbit/lotr

Completely irrelevant to your upcoming fic, but I'm curious about your thoughts on Wanda as the Scarlet Witch, and her expected appearance on MoM? It's a frequent topic of discussion revolving around the Dr Strange fandom or the MCU fandom in general, so, any thoughts? It's sort of a... 'sensitive' and 'controversial' (?) topic to touch so you don't need to delve into details if you don't want to.

It's all good! I like random asks that get me thinking.

For anyone who's newer to my little slice of internet, I am heavy in the camp of a tag I borrowed from AO3 writer Gwendolyn Stacy (xxgwenstacyxx here on Tumblr, but we're not mutuals so I don't want to tag her and be bothering her). Anyway, the tag is "In This Fic We Love And Cherish All Canon Characters". I stand very heavily by that tag. I don't use Civil War Team Iron Man/Captain America tags, and don't write fics with one side focused on. I don't click on them to read anymore either, haven't for a couple years. I refuse to read "not Team Cap Friendly" and all of their iterations, and I don't enjoy fics that use characters as an author avatar to voice opinions as opposed to maintaining their own agency with their own unique opinions. I can go on and on an on about this, but you didn't ask about that so I'm gonna stop that tangent.

With all that said, Wanda isn't a favorite character of mine. She's *not* a disliked character--I think the only MCU character I actively dislike and would have a hard time to write about objectively is Thaddeus Ross, so I'm lucky my faves also don't like him--but not a favorite either. I think she was a character long, long given the short stick in terms of character growth and development in the MCU and, like Natasha, should have had her own solo thing long ago. But I suspect that if Disney+ did not exist, a lot of characters who deserved more light would not have gotten it (or continue to not get it).

I think the Doctor Strange movie should be focused mostly on Stephen (obviously), but that a side focus of other magic users 100% makes sense, so her inclusion in the film itself is perfectly logical to me. I'd prefer her to have equal or less screentime than Wong, but I'm not sure it's gonna go down like that. I feel the same way about America Chavez, but I'm also super biased towards Wong as being one of the greatest people ever. Like, I'm pretty sure I like him more than Tony at this point of time. Sorry Tony :P

Regarding Wanda being more powerful than Stephen: This is how it is in the comics, so it's not a big deal to me. It's not like power is the equivalent of skill, and I think Stephen is more skilled than Wanda. Wanda's a bomb; Stephen's a sniper rifle. Both have their purpose.

Regarding Wanda being the possible Big Bad: Had a big conversation on Discord this weekend about this, and I honestly think that if she is the antagonist in this film and not, say, being corrupted by the Darkhold One Ring of Power-style, then it will make the last couple episodes of her series and the growth she experienced there entirely pointless. I strongly feel she has to have that redemption arc and, if she is the antagonist, it either has to be a variant version or due to corruption from the Darkhold that she manages to break out of before the ending.

The big, big reason I believe this *must* happen is because Wanda being a villainous character is inspired by a series of comics, written in the 21st century, that are *filled* with problematic tropes and misogyny. While it's nice to let a story stand on its own without thinking about what influenced it, I don't necessarily think we have that luxury with a history such as this. To read more about how a once-beloved Avenger was ruined by one comic book writer, check out this fantastic article.

Overall, I am rooting for Wanda to continue to be developed to a strong 3D character with all the complexities of a traumatized human being. But I think she needs to swing to chaotic-good/neutral-good/neutral-neutral and cannot be wholly selfish for her show's finale to work. The MCU's done sympathetic villains before like Loki, but that may be more on Tom Hiddleston's acting rather than the script he was given to work with. I don't know if Elizabeth Olsen can pull off the same thing if Wanda starts slaughtering people. I'd rather not see it happen, anyway.

Honestly, I'd just like for Stephen and Wanda to be friends. Is it so much to ask to have superheroes who are supposed to be "good guys" stop fighting each other? Civil War was, objectively (and not thinking of fandom consequences), a very good film, but I don't want to do it every 5 years either.

honestly you're one of the rare ones who didn't lie about reading the dmbj og books bc after seeing some ppls tweets there are way too much of 'its bc i've read the book i hate it' and then they proceed to describe the thing they hated that was in the book and i just start laughing. anyways same about the 'restart'. like hell i'd exchange what zu yilong and huang junjie did for what was happening in there and it all ending with wu xie rapidly aging and going bald no thank you

I just think that this is the kind of a rare fandom, where whether you are a fan of the books or not, it doesn't matter unless you're making sense and consistent with what you're saying, bc the novels are a hot mess tbh. Like even if you're a huge fan of the books for some reason, there had to be places where u were like "well that was... strange" lol

So like it weirds me out when ppl keep agressively yelling ooc and he'd never do that, if that's what he did in the novel. you mean like "ooc compared to what this character is in your head?" but thats not ooc lmao

For me it's just the overall feeling I guess, like if I'm watching and it feels right or it feels.. well, not. Chemistry plays a huge role too.

Like the only Qilings I love are Yuliang & Junjie, but whoever came up with the "Yuliang is the closest to the book Qiling version" is hella wrong and lying, you can check it yourself. But I can't consider the fact that they're so much softer and more gone on Wu Xie as a flaw, although some aparently do xD

Same as I personally can't accept the Wu Xie's "don't worry about him" line in the new one, but know for sure that there was tons of moments in the books like and I quote here Wu Xie literally going "knowing how skilled Xiao Ge was I wasn't worried about him at all, so I just watched him as he ran, distracting the creature". Like I'd rather have SOP version of Wu Xie being hella scared even when XiaoGe just jumps down stuff and running to check on him first out of everyone else after bomb explodes. But thats not whats happening in the novels, so it's technically ooc haha

Those who read also know that like "I'll notice if you disappear" 'I'm a man with no past and no future' scene in UN that was done so touchingly and romantically.. well, to say that it didn't carry as much emotion in the book is to say nothing lol. It just wasn't the vibe UN went with.

And why would I even want the Reboot book reunion going "why are u here?" of nothingness, if I can have what these idiots did with their heart eyes and "you're here, I'm okay now" and everything?

I mean, if you want the book version, fine by me, but like blaming people who wanted by novel #...12orsmth for them to pass some stages and get the warmth we got in UN and SOP is insane.

I mean, just the fact that in the Restart book Wu Xie had an internal thought that next time they see each other they might not even know how to behave with each other and that for him he's just a random person he passes by in his long life just almost made me close the damn thing lolz

I was straight up laughing at that one comment "all he does in this part is looking lovingly at Wu Xie and protects him". I was like damn, so many of my faves are cancelled like that... I mean, you're watching HOB anime and like "my god it's such a bad representation of the Hua Cheng character, all he does is stares at Xie Lian and protects him" lol (I'm sorry but this 11 episodes are NOT the part of the book that tells his story and who he is, but this in fact doesn't mean that they "reduced him to a tool" lmao). Meanwhile some DMBJ books Wu Xie goes "I knew he was hired by the 2nd uncle just to keep us safe". LMAO SO WHAT? this is not making him a tool, that's just what he does, it doesn't make his FULL CHARACTER, just bc he does that.

Like seriously, it sounds as insane as someone splitting MDZS in 3 parts, watching the last one, then the first one and saying like "you know in the last part all that LZ does is stares lovingly at WWX and protects him, he was much more complex and flawed in part 1". Like wth lol... ITS THE SAME FUCKING CHARACTER.

Also I saw one UN review that was positive, but just went that Xiao Ge in that part felt more like humane or smth, bc "at some point he even grew a scruff". I was just sitting there like... out of all the things in this series that made him humane, why mention the scruff? Like since when it's a thing...? I mean just bc Shen Wei or Lan Zhan look perfect all the time that somehow means they don't have feelings or less human beings? I do not get.

So all these tantrums of "ISTG IF THEY EVER SHOW QILING JUST PROTECTING THEM... I'M GONNA BLEW UP" and the same one saying that they're the book fans, I'm like "how didn't u blow up during several books already?" lolz

I like love reading so many different opinions, when it comes to this fandom, bc it's so fascinating, but some arguments just don't go together well haha

And I'm a huge fan of UN, but like.. some go a bit TOO extra about it and their arguments just don't stick sometimes, bc they're trying again with the "it's the less-est ooc from books", but it wasn't as much it, as the fact that it just had soul in it, which sometimes in my opinion actually completely lacked in the og novels.

NOTE: OMG I really wasn't expecting for the previous first part of Heavenly Sins to blow up as it did, but I just wanted to give a huuuge THANK YOU to all of you amazing folks!! 🥰🥰🥰 Your support truly means so fooken much to trashy ol' meh and y'all are the reason I am writing this story series in the first place :')

I do have my ideas, but I still don't know much yet of what to do or even how long (or short) this story will get. So, if you would continue to give me your mindblowing support, it would seriously mean the W O R L D.

I do, however, very much enjoy writing Negan in particular so far. He's one of my absolute fave characters ever and JEFFREY DEAN FUCKIN' MORGAN NEED I SAY MOAR?!? 🥵💕💕

But this second part will be focusing a bit more on our beloved sheriff Ricky boi! Of course, Daryl will also get some much deserved love and attention tho I think he will appear in the story a lil later on.

"Heavenly Sins"

Part 2

After your little spiel, you haven't spoken to Negan since then. But on the way home after church, you passed by his house and found him tinkering away on his motorcycle (which you previously learned he interestingly named Lucille) in the garage. Not being able to help yourself, you paused in your tracks and just curiously watched him for a while.

His leather jacket was off, revealing a plain white t-shirt. The shirt was quite tight, and you noted how it perfectly hugged the taut muscles of his chest. Your eyes then slowly trailed to his toned arms, adorned by tattoos you wished you had a better look at. He stopped briefly, placing his tools down before grabbing the hem of his shirt and wiping the sweat on his forehead.

You didn't even think twice as your eyes dropped, hyperfocused on his abs. He wasn't the buffest guy out there, but he was lean and fit and--to put it bluntly--hot. A part of you screamed bloody murder to get a grip on yourself, to just turn your stiff body around and proceed on home. But another part completely squashed down those protests without even a fight; as if your pathetic excuse of a resolve wasn't even meant in the first place.

"Take a goddamn picture, darlin'. It'll last longer."

Your head snapped up, meeting the tantalizing hazel stare of Negan. His lips were curled in a smug smirk, and nevermore in your entire life have you wanted to both slap and kiss someone so badly.

But you only clicked your tongue, shooting him a sharp glare before (at last!) turning and walking away as you hid your blush. In the distance, his amused chuckle begrudgingly sounded like the sweetest fucking music to your ears.

You woke up at 7:05 a.m. like you typically did the next morning, Monday. It was the dawn of a new week, and while most people dreaded it you actually didn't mind it so much. You had your job to thank for that.

Sure, it wasn't always easy, but it was worth it in the end. You loved teaching and spending time with the children, and you were even more ecstatic since you knew Judith was going to be at the daycare.

As you finished eating breakfast and preparing for the day, you grabbed your bag then went out the door. You opted to walk again today, the weather far too beautiful to miss plus the daycare really wasn't that far away.

Eventually arriving at your destination, you approached the daycare building's doors with a little spring in your step. Once inside, a young woman with her blonde hair high in a ponytail smiled and waved.

"Hi, Y/N! Goodmorning!" Beth Greene greeted energetically.

"Morning, Beth." You chuckled, the girl's radiant smile infectious. You've known Beth for some time now, especially since the Greenes were one of the oldest families in Alexandria and they were well respected. But you got along best with Beth, you thought she was the friendliest and she was also the latest hire of the daycare.

Stashing your bag away in your personal locker, you fixed yourself up a bit before getting your nametag and sticking it on your top. Looking up at the wall clock, you read that it was 7:50 a.m. Perfect, just in time for the kids' drop-offs.

You waited outside with Beth and the rest of the daycare workers, until finally the parents started rolling in. It was the usual; some of the children were wailing, snot snivelling down their nose as their embarrassed parents tried to tug them away from clinging onto their legs. You could only offer a sympathetic smile as you tried to help, while other children were much more relaxed and didn't even spare a second glance at their parents as they were dropped off.

"Well, that's about all of them." Beth piped up.

"Wait, we're still waiting for Judith." You said, searching for the toddler. "Rick said she'd be here."

Beth checked her watch, her brows creasing a little in worry. "That's odd. Sheriff Grimes is never late when he's dropping Judith off."

Just as she said that, there was a honk that disrupted the peace. You and Beth both spotted a crying Judith being held by Lori, the woman appearing utterly exhausted before her eyes locked with yours and didn't waste another second dashing towards you.

"Please don't run when you're holding Judith. Also, no honking is allowed on the premises." It was hard for you to keep the malice out of your voice, but you mentally gave yourself a pat on the back since you miraculously managed to not make it sound the worst it could get.

Lori raised a brow at you, but only handed Judith over to you. Judith immediately quieted down when she saw it was you, you cooing gently at her as she giggled and snuggled up comfortably against your chest.

"Rick will be picking her up later." Was all Lori said, pressing a quick peck on Judith's curly little head before parting ways. As Lori rushed back to the car, you saw Shane in the driver's seat shamelessly attack her neck with fervent kisses and you couldn't restrain an eyeroll.

"Fucking bitch..." You grumbled.

"Uh-oh. Bad!" Judith giggled again, clapping her hands gleefully.

"Right, right. Bad. Don't copy me, okay?" You laughed, completely forgetting about your aggravation as you rubbed your nose with Judith's and went inside.

The rest of the day rolled along splendidly. No one threw a tantrum and for the most part, all the kids properly shared the wide assortment of toys and even did their activities orderly and on time. So, you decided to indulge them with a small yet much sought after reward.

Painting.

When it comes down to children, painting can be utter chaos. But you figured since they were being so good, you'd allow it. At the daycare you worked in, painting was quite a rare occurrence and that only solidified how much the kids adored it.

Once the materials were set out, it was a dizzying flurry of excited hands grabbing anything it could latch on to. As the kids went about doing their creative business, you found Judith all alone sitting in the corner playing around with some blocks.

"Whatcha doin' there, Judi?" You asked, sweetly calling out her nickname. "You don't wanna paint?"

"I wanna, but not with papers." She replied, shaking her head.

"Oh? Then where do you wanna paint?"

"I wanna paint on faces, but no one wants me to!"

"If that's the case, then I'd be more than happy to let you paint my face." You smiled.

"Really?!" Judith's whole face lit up, jumping up and wrapping her tiny arms around you as tightly as she could. "Thank youuu!"

You chuckled, ruffling her hair and watching as she happily gathered some paint and brushes.

It was finally the end of a long day, and your face felt a bit itchy from the paint Judith put on you. But it didn't matter; as long as the little girl was happy, it was the best damn day ever.

You were holding Judith's hand as you waited outside for Rick to pick her up, and once he came up with his car Judith beamed.

"Daddy!"

"Hello, sweetheart. Did you have a nice day?" His face looked tired, his greying beard making him appear slightly older than he really was, but his smile was genuine as he carried Judith in his strong arms.

"The bestest! Y/N lemme paint her face!"

"She did, huh? What did you pai--oh my god."

You bursted into laughter at his reaction, flashing him a toothy grin. "In the words of Judi: You're a pretty tiger! Grr!"

"Now that you mention it, I can see it." Rick joined in your laughter, nodding his head. "Looks like we've got a talented lil artist in our hands!"

"Daddy, I wanna paint your face next! You can be daddy tiger and Y/N can be mommy!" Judith proclaimed.

You and Rick flushed pink at the same exact time, but Rick was quick to clear his throat and change the topic. "A-Anyways, Y/N, how 'bout me and the kids give you a ride? Thank you for today, by the way."

"No problem, and sure! Thanks so much."

As you settled in the passenger's seat, two hands covered your eyes from behind. "Guess who~?"

"Hmm..." You hummed, making a show of thinking. "Are you an elf?"

"No!" The hands were removed, Carl popping his head out from the backseat to look at you as he laughed. "It's me!"

"Oh, sorry! You're just so short, I thought you were an elf." You teased good naturedly.

Carl huffed, sticking his tongue out at you. "Y'know, in a few years, I'll be way taller than you!"

Once Rick was done buckling Judith into her carseat, he took his place in the driver's seat and drove out of the premises. You just talked about anything that came to mind: work, the weather, Alexandria's local shops, etc. To anyone else, maybe it seemed like regular boring conversation. But speaking with Rick was truly one of the highlights of any of your days. He was extremely easy to talk to, and he never failed to cheer you up. And it was obvious Rick was the same. He was allowed to simply be himself around you; to loosen up, momentarily forget about the stress and sometimes even the woes that came along with being the town's upstanding sheriff.

As you were nearing your home, Carl decided to cut in.

"Y/N, can we stay at your house? It's been a while since we had a sleepover." Carl asked, his baby blue eyes identical to Rick's alight with hope.

It wouldn't be the first time Rick and the kids would be staying over. You were very close to the Grimes family, sometimes even almost considering them as your own. You didn't mind it. Since you lived alone, it can get pretty lonely. And having people around surely brightened up the house and made you keep your sanity.

"I don't mind, but you gotta ask your dad." You chuckled.

Carl turned to Rick, pouting and giving his best puppy dog eyes. Rick rolled his eyes, but couldn't suppress an inkling of a smile.

"Yeah, yeah. But let me drop you and Judith off with Y/N first. I'll be back, I just need to get some extra clothes and essentials."

"YAY!" Carl cheered, Judith following suit as they both raised their arms and hollered.

"You're so whipped for them." You laughed, shaking your head as you looked at Rick.

"I ain't denying that." He sighed dramatically, grinning.

lots of thoughts and considerations and literally the only fav characters i was conclusive on was sasuke and tsunade 😭😭😭 i hate it here i want other characters to be appreciated but it was too hard

sasuke → i lean towards ares or nemesis, but like say the massacre didn't happen, this would be like so different. and i think that's what's crazy about this question is that with pjo they're kinda born with this and then some stuff happen but the massacre for sasuke tilts his entire personality. like if we went by road 2 ninja movie then LMAO obvious choice is like, aphrodite or something 🙄 so idk idk but right now I'll stick with those two, even if he's mellowed out a bit in boruto

tsunade → athena only because i find her extremely skilled in almost everything and it takes an insane amount of training and dedication to do so. she's easily one of the top kuniochi and duh she's a sannin so i feel that flexibility and diligence lends to athena especially in the war zone. continuing on what i said with Sasuke, i also think the fact that we've mostly just seen these characters in war makes me lean toward war gods instead actually... but like her insane strength takes a lot of concentration and effort which makes me go with athena over ares, for instance. anyway her healing can go into apollo if u want but again... the war thing

salad → i have not seen or read bordo but i like her a lot 😭😭😭 im just gonna say athena as well but if sasuke is ares then ares is fine too, that's it, i have no more reasoning for her i just think she's cool 👍

I read your new fanfic for JayKyle week (along with all the others) Fear and really loved it! (And for my next part just remember I like Kyle from what I've seen and him as White lantern seems cool but super OP for no real reason (but I haven't read comics so sorry))

With all these fics it makes me have thoughts (no mean to bash but why is Kyle even white lantern. From what I've seen (which is not a lot so I get it if I'm just being ignorant and unconsciously putting down the characters that aren't my fave 😥) it just seemed like OP move to make him stronger)

But onto what I hope doesn't come off as putting down a character for my own fave (and if that's what it is I don't mean it). But I keep on having thoughts of White lantern Jason.

Rather if (inspired by your fic) Jason goes into the pit and comes out a Red lantern, goes to space after a bit then goes back to Talia (there wasn't really much in space for him, and nothing with the bats anymore, but Talia?). Then when training/thinking about what Bruce should have done and Gotham gets a orange ring. Then maybe a Black ring while being Redhood (or however Jason would do it in this world). Then after the Black ring or after the pit madness cools down he realizes what he's done and gets a Yellow ring.

Then maybe the next ones would be Indigo, Violet, Green, Blue.(White)

And plusepoints if Jason meets people within this time. Like Bruce never really learns that its Jason rather if it's because he never went to Gotham or didn't stay long enough for the bats to find out. It's just one day this guy with at least one of the "bad" power rings shows up (Jason would show up for world crisises) and completely obliterate some guys. And everyone would be like "this guy is scary". And then he'd continue to show up with more and more ring and everyone is shocked.

I also like the idea of Jason and Kyle both being Green lanterns in space after Hal becomes Parallax. Kyle hates Jason because he's always telling Kyle what to do and kinda calling him stupid (Jason is just worried that this guy with like zero training is going to go out into space (with no plan) and get hurt or mess everything up. So Jason is just trying to show him how to be a hero/vigilante and Kyle. Isn't. Listening.(que Jason thinking Kyle is so stupid and stubborn and pretty and F#CK)

Its all good. Comics are confusing half the time, and contradictory. Can be a bit difficult to read, let alone understand what's happening when or where or why sometimes.

Kyle being op as White Lantern, that's to be expected tbh. He became WL because he managed to get chosen by all the seven rings (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet) and learned how to weild each of their individual powers. So he's not just weilding the power of one Lantern corps at that point, he's hitting seven plus whatever additional boost you'd expect to get from being WL. (pretty sure they did it this way to serve as a parrallel to the different rays of light and how when your eye sees all of them it makes white and when there's none it sees black.) I can see where you could see it as a move to make him way too overly strong, but another thing I'd say is it separated him from Hal both with plot and character wise. I've seen some people say that Kyle feels like DC just wanted a younger Hal, that they're not distinct enough, by giving him this thing he's getting something Hal and by extension no other characters had/held onto (as far as I'm aware the only other time we've seen WLs is in blackest night and that obviously didn't stick past that event). It also gives us that bonus Hal is extremely strong in Will but Kyle is intuned across the whole board. But that's all just my speculation and what I've gotten. And this is comics, where the rules and Canon are constantly changing to suit whoever's writing today.

I have thought of WLJason for a bit, kind of playing with the idea of how he came back to life and the WL power is supposed to be life. So you could argue channeling all the rings together to create the white one would be easier, the problem of course comes with getting the rings to him and not getting overloaded on all the power and emotions that come with them. A few have been shown to manipulate or change the wearer's emotional and mental state so you could play with the fear and struggle of that too (specific ones that come to mind being red, indigo, and violet). But you could mess around with how the rings work to fit the story. I do like your idea of him just being this unknown figure amassing this collection of rings without anyone knowing anything. Could play it off as a mystery if told from the bats or league's perspective, or like a sort of thriller if from Jason's.

Usually I think of Jason as WL in a situation where most of the League has disappeared, maybe through brainiac or some alien invasion or some supervillain we've never heard of. Of course with the League's disappearance someone has to step up and do something and after fighting with himself Jason does that. There are younger heroes and sidekicks just running around putting themselves in danger with no backup, he has to do something. At some point he gets a ring, either blue for the hope he's bringing to the people/that he has for finding the League, or green because he's not about to let anything else happen (plus the guardians are like, where the hell did our lanterns go? All six of them? This is clearly an emergency, we need someone there, now.) Over time he starts amassing the other rings and he becomes the WL. With the new power and this new team he's had to build from scratch within the last however many months/years he finds the missing League members and get them back. Cue the shock as everyone tries to figure out how this happened.

Ooh, new Green Lantern Kyle plus also new Green Lantern Jason could be fun too. Could almost go like a buddy cop route with it if you wanted, Jason tries to be the serious one while Kyle's just trying to enjoy himself. He gets it's important and all but c'mon man, we can go to space, that's so cool. Add in some mutual pining, the oh no this assholes really hot moment, and we're on our way. Since it's just became GL Kyle you could play it off as Jason just came out of the Lazarus Pit maybe too(maybe the pit madness didn't hit as bad here, or his will is strong enough to fight through it) so you can play up the young love aspect too.

i think my favorite fics are actually angsty ones. i love happy endings for movies and stuff, but the fics that make cry and hurt are my fave?? kinda interesting, the contrast. but yeah, i think you’re right abt that, there are always those lingering ‘what if’s’ those angsty fics always leave you with T^T i mentioned this in the most recent ask, but i can’t write in chronological order rly, lol. i tend to just write scenes that pop into my head first, and then go back and piece it together. it’s tricky for sure, but if i try to move chronologically, i tend to get stuck. so i just jump around instead. and i did that w jun. i divided it up into 4 parts, and then wrote fcertain scnes and then went back to add what i felt i needed to fill in the gaps!! but not trusting yourself w the details, i literally did that w this fic. there are some inconsistencies but it’s posted now and i’m like…too lazy to fix it LOL. but maybe i will……..

I just got recommended this online article about the fall finale that summarized the episode and stated that Kate has given up on her sister and like??? Okay, so I knew that already but to see it in print???? See, this is the reason why I've made four edits for the Kane twins... in the past four days. I actually have two more lined up, and the only reason they aren't up yet is because I don't want to seem any more obsessed with the show than I already, quite clearly, am 😐😶🤷🏻‍♀️

Lucky for me barely anyone watches them, so I'm free to see how many ways I can spin 8 episodes worth of content in different ways to different audios for as long as humanely possible in order to help me survive the hiatus. Which already feels like it's been forever.

I mean, yeah I know we have Crisis to look forward to, but we'll only be seeing Kate!!! Not that I don't love Kate, I do, she's my darling. But what about Beth? Mary? Jacob's incarcerated ass? I'm 😫

I am DYING to know how Mary will treat Kate and Jacob moving forward, as they're the only family she has left. Interestingly enough, that puts her on even ground with Beth when it comes to family. I'm terrified to see how it will unfold. Jacob is clearly out for blood now and Kate is realizing far too late that she's been pushing Mary away for a long time now and Mary is not in the mood to reach out again. So that sucks- mainly because Kate is probably going to try and make amends and everyone is just going to get hurt in one way or another. Oh, Alice. I love you, but damn, darling, you fucked up. I mean, at least she left Mary alive though, even if she traumatized the girl. Knowing how jealous she is of her 'replacement' it's actually quite... Nice of her, to not try and murder Mary again, since she knew all along who Catherine would choose to save. Wicked mind game, but still. I think she knows Kate wouldn't forgive her for Mary's death, and she's hedging her bets on reactions to Catherine's, or she was just rightfully too angry to care if Kate and Jacob will end up forgiving her for getting back at the woman who faked her death and then later tried to have her killed twice. Payback's a bitch, y'all. I just can't wait to see the Kane family drama play out in 1B with all of Gotham as the chess board.

And please, continue theorizing! I love hearing theories about my faves. It's always so exciting to consider the stuff that the writers might be bringing from the comics to the show. And, like you, I am perpetually on the edge of my seat for more Alice content. I know the show is probably gonna spin out her redemption arc for a while but like!!!! GAH. I need it now. Otherwise I'll just keep writing all these fics I don't have the guts to post, considering how few fics there are for the Batwoman fandom on Ao3- which is really such a shame. Ah, well, being a SuperCorp stan has spoiled me. But seriously. I have, like, maybe 13k+ words and counting written for various Batwoman fics that I can never reveal to the world because they're probably wildly out of character and serve no real purpose but to heal my soul 😅

i think the anduin section in this fandom is harder to get into than a lot of other character-subsections just because it’s a lot bigger than others. because of that it feels like some rarer headcanons you may have are being drowned out (i know i’ve been there }: ) but i can assure you there’s someone here who also believes in it or at the very least would be 100% behind it!

don’t be afraid to post your own content to get your word out there! we’re all starved for good anduin wrynn content. even if it’s not popular like anduin/taelia? it’s still valid content! create what you want for yourself. everyone has every right to not like the pairing, hell i’m in the skeptical camp myself. but damn i know a bunch of people (i’m even friends with a few!) who are totally down for it and that’s 100% okay.

if someone attacks you for it or posts something you really don’t like just block them! you don’t owe anyone anything, only yourself for having a good fandom experience. i believe xkit also has an addon to mute users if you don’t want to take the blocking route and potentially cause drama. 

but overall, i think the most important realization i’ve come to throughout the years applies for anyone in this fandom. world of warcraft is a multiverse. primarily, there’s infinite universes that take place on azeroth! especially in a world where the bronze dragonflight exists you can do whatever the hell you want and no one can say it’s not valid. 

not only that, but the warcraft universe expands to the heroes of the storm nexus where there’s even more possible alternate universes. mecha anime universes, pirate universes, a fucking sailor moon/he-man/she-ra universe. all this stuff is developed by people who work for blizz, so who’s to say you can’t like what you want to like or make what you want to make? 

i suppose the final thing i want to say is that fandoms do not equate to an actual warfield, so don’t let it actually become one.
